Amy was terrific. Helped our guests with their requests, played all the songs we wanted and brought props that everyone enjoyed to get the whole room dancing.

After reading Marisa's review I felt the need to respond in Amy's defense. I was very fortunate to find Amy through a company she was working for in 2006. My son got married in November 2006 and in trying to keep costs down planned on doing the music themselves. Knowing the importance of making sure your guests are having a good time, I felt a professional was warranted. That is exactly what we found in Amy. I have been to many weddings and the music is vital to a good party. When allowed to do their job, a good DJ can read the crowd and can see what keeps the people dancing. That is what Amy does. Yes you can and should request certain music but you must consider the comfort and interests of all guests. All ages love to dance and the music needs to reflect all tastes. My son and daughter in law's wedding was so much fun that they extended it an extra hour. No one wanted it to end. People that were known to leave early stayed until the end. Amy DJ'd my daughters' wedding in April 2009 and again the dance floor was never empty. One of my husband's employees used her for his wedding and just recently she was the DJ for my husband's high school reunion. It was great. I find myself comparing the DJ at any weddings I attend now to Amy. No comparison. So Brides, enjoy 'your day' but keep your guests in mind as you and your groom are the host and hostess of a great party, and as with any party, you want your guests leaving saying what a great time they had and not wanting to leave early and disappointed. P.S. Amy has great props and everyone has a great time using them. 11/2013

Amy was a pleasure to deal with. She knew exactly how to get things going on the dance floor. The price was perfect for our budget. Very professional, I would recommend to anyone. The song recommendations were perfect as well !! -todd

We were very unhappy with the DJ, in fact, it is the one regret we have with regards to our wedding. She did not check the power source she was using prior to the ceremony; therefore, she did not play any of the songs that we chose for the processional or my walk down the aisle. Once she realized that she had no power (after the ceremony had started) she walked up the aisle carrying her equipment and had one of our groomsmen carrying her speaker..this happened moments before I was to walk down the aisle. I spent a lot of time choosing the songs for the ceremony and wanted her to play the Seminole War Chant as a surprise to my husband...needless to say I was devastated after the ceremony! Furthermore, we provided her with a list of songs that were "must plays" - she did not play most songs on the list, even after she was repeatedly asked to do so. I could go on and on about how unhappy we were with her services.

Mobile DJ for any Occasion's reply:

The banquet manager did not tell me the outlets did not work. They told me where to set up. The banquet manager also told the bride to proceed down the isle without allowing me a couple seconds to plug in where the guitarist was set up. I played every song on their play list that was requested, within the amount of time available. There wasn't enough time in the reception to play all the songs on their list. It took me several hours to download all of their songs - and I played all that time would allow. Most of the songs on the list were not appropriate to be played during dinner as they all required edited versions to be played. Two of the guests were very rude - they took over my equipment and started to play music from their iphones (music that was not on the request list). This is where the party went the wrong direction. They decided to take over the music atmosphere and were telling me and the bride different information. I wish the bride had communicated with me directly. I also wish the banquet coordinator had been more cooperative, even to the point of allowing me to unload my equipment within 100 yards of the entrance to the restaurant. I am sorry that Marisa was not satisfied. I too was not happy with the way things turned out. The reception hall needs to get their outlets in working order before they sell wedding packages on their balcony.
