Our experience working with Karey and Katie at Mint Julep Studio was so wonderful. My fiancé and I knew we wanted assistance during the wedding planning process. My only wish is that we hired them sooner! We bought a partial planning package through Mint Julep and it felt like it was more than enough. They were available for check in meetings in person to keep our wedding planning on target for our wedding date. We also corresponded via email frequently about planning. Karey helped prepare our flowers and table arrangements for our wedding. It was so nice having them do our flowers as well. Also, we had access to the online planner, Aisle Planner, through their company. This was such a wonderful resource for us to coordinate details. RSVPS and meal choices were included here and also seating arrangements. It made our wedding day coordination even easier!
Finally our wedding week arrived! One of the best parts was the coordination of all of our vendors the week prior to our wedding. Katie contacted all the vendors and gave them a timeline for our wedding day. The wedding timeline was also shared with us and we were able to share it with our bridal party. Katie worked tirelessly on our wedding day going between my room and my husband’s room at the Four Seasons. She helped coordinate lunch for both the bridesmaids and groomsmen. She had her cell phone with her all day to get in contact with her about anything we needed. It made me feel completely at ease knowing she was taking such great care of us for our wedding to go perfectly (and it did!). Finally, at the wedding reception Katie was everywhere we needed her to be and helped with any requests we had. She stayed throughout the wedding until the event ended and helped us gather our things for our farewell. I cannot thank Katie enough for all of her support and work on our wedding day. Karey and Katie are a phenomenal team and I would trust them with planning any event in the future. -

Katie from Mint Julep was hands-down the champion of our wedding. From the first day she stepped in to coordinate and plan our wedding to the wedding day itself, Katie was the absolute best. She had a solution for any roadblock we encountered and kept the wedding day smooth and enjoyable for us and all of our guests. Such a great experience. We would want Katie involved in planning any future major event we hold in the future! -

I cannot begin to thank Karey and her team enough for my beautiful wedding day. My husband and I are both from out of town and Karey, Sarah, Grace, Katie, and the rest of their team went out of their way to meet with us and make us feel comfortable. It is truly a family run business. Karey's husband Mike takes care of the lighting and was our own personal tour guide as we were planning our rehearsal dinner and going to our cake tastings. I had several interesting requests, like a football stadium wedding cake, and Karey went out of her way to help me find vendors that fit my unique vision. Karey and her team were also responsible for my flowers and they were everything I imagined! The day of the wedding her staff were amazing. Katie stayed with my bridesmaids and helped us with a last minute emergency with a torn bridesmaid dress. I cannot begin to thank Mint Julep enough for making it a day I will never forget! -

There are no words for how wonderful Katie and the staff at Mint Julep were. We did the day of package and it was hands down the best money we spent on our wedding. Katie thought of everything and anything. She was always there to respond to emails. She took care of contracts and vendors. I was able to completely enjoy my wedding day with out a single worry. She kept everyone on schedule, she helped get a small grass stain out of the bottom of my dress, made sure we ate, and took care of any unexpected circumstances. My wedding was a dream come true and the Mint Julep girls made it that way. I can't thank them enough. I would recommended them to everyone and anyone! -

Sarah Lubawski was our wedding planner. She is a true artist in every sense of the word. Your wedding will come to life painted with so much love, creavity, and class. It is hard enough to handle one bride, let alone two. She made my wife and me feel so special and even had incredible ideas on setting up the ceremony where we both got our spotlight walking down the isle. I cannot say enough about this woman. She is amazing, and hopefully you are luck enough to have her make your wedding dreams come true! -

The absolute best experience possible from these ladies. Working with Karey is the reason that planning my wedding was the most fun time of my whole life. I looked forward to every meeting with Karey, Sarah, and Karey's husband as they made a stressful time become as stress free as possible in addition to just pure fun! I could go on for days about how wonderful they are to work with, but I can't forget the actual wedding!!! We had Karey's team do the full design and almost every aspect of our wedding - it was PERFECT. They made a gorgeous venue look like I had decorated it with my dream design and the whole day was seamless and just plain wonderful. They paid attention to every detail and made my dream come true. I would recommend Mint Julep to anyone and everyone who is looking for a extraordinary experience from the start to finish. -

Karey and her team made all the difference in the world. Everything from arranging rooms for a destination type wedding to managing the vendors to dealing with my mother! the bride and groom were on the West coast and the wedding took place on Maryland Eastern Shore. Karey made it a fun and memorable event. -

Hiring Historic Events was absolutely the best decision we made for our Wedding!! We used their full service planning and couldn’t have been happier with Karey and her amazing team!! If it wasn’t for Karey and her team we wouldn’t have been able to pull off our Wedding on Kent Island at my parents house. She and her team literally created a venue from scratch. Her vendor recommendations were outstanding! Karey and her team went above and beyond in every aspect of the entire process. -

I cannot begin to explain how AMAZING Karey and her team were. From beginning to end Karey went above and beyond with the planning of my wedding. Everyone commented on how calm I was leading up to my wedding and I can honestly say I was so calm because I had 100% faith and trust that Karey and her team were handling everything! My wedding day exceeded my extremely high expectations. If anyone wants to have the best and worry free wedding, I highly recommend contacting Karey. She is one of the best wedding planners ever! -

Here is a guy's perspective. Karey and Historic Events are amazing. She took any worries or problems my wife thought we would have, and crushed them! She was able to anticipate issues and tell us about bumps in the road before turning the corner. Finally, she knew exactly where we could make cost saving cuts in the budget and places where we really needed to spend a little more. All were spot-on! I wouldn't change a thing about my wedding, but if we had to organize it again, hiring Karey and Historic would be the first thing I would do! She has my highest possible recommendation. -

I can't say enough good things about Historic Events. Karey Hein and her team made our day so special. I was able to relax and just enjoy myself. And that's probably one of the things I really need; because, I can become a worrywart really fast when things aren't going my way. Plus, she gave us a slew of valuable tips/ideas on where to save and splurge. I scoured wedding magazines for months. And, that kind of guidance and detail just aren't in the magazines. Our number one piece of advice now to other couples planning their nuptials is "get a planner" and -- might I add -- get Historic Events! No, really. Call Karey... -

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE!! I can't say enough about how grateful I am to have found Brittany through Historic Events!! She made my wedding day so stress free and enjoyable and I was honestly very sad when my wedding was over because I didn't get to work with her anymore. She understood my needs exactly and executed everything I asked in the exact way I wanted. I HIGHLY recommend getting some kind of help on your wedding day because most hotels will give you a "coordinator" however that person just takes care of setting up the ceremony and/or reception area. The rest is up to you so you'd better have someone there taking care of all the little details. I had a vision and just wanted someone to execute my vision on the day of the wedding and Brittany did exactly that. I understand however that Historic Events also provides wedding planners who will plan your entire wedding if you don't know what you want. Brittany handled all of the little things that went wrong and I didn't even know about them until days later. The day of my wedding was everything I dreamed of and Brittany was the main reason why. For the price you pay it is definitely worth the money to have an amazing wedding day. Their prices are very reasonable and you get SO much. Like I said I can't say enough... : ) -

Using Brittany from Historic Events as our Day-Of Coordinator was the smartest wedding decision we made throughout the entire process. Brittany made absolute sure that everything leading up to that day (and the day itself) was in check and running smoothly. From being the key contacts for our vendors, to handling payments, marriage license, reception materials, and being a general guide for our out-of-town guests, she made the day the most stress free day for me, the bride (and my husband as well!). A former bride herself, she gave me a lot of advice and even lent me her birdcage for our wedding cards! We would not hesitate to recommend Brittany and Historic Events to anyone even thinking of planning a wedding! My only regret was that we didn't use Historic Events for the entire process! I told my husband that for our next wedding, we will. ;) -

I would definitely recommend Historic Events to take care of all wedding needs! Their design and planning services took all of the stress out of our big day! They coordinated everything to the very last detail, including things that we had never considered. They were there every step of the way- responsive, patient, professional and so very helpful with whatever needed to be done! I hired Historic event's to help with the day of planning. I figured it would be helpful to have someone there to deal with the vendors and to arrange the day of schedule. They did so much more than that. Karey and her team were so responsive and so organized, that I felt comfortable leaving the final details to them. They thought of everything. From planning a lunch for us while we got ready to bringing several emergency kits, everything was perfect. Even if you do not get a wedding planner for the entire event, I would definitely recommend getting a day of planner. The day went so smoothly. I sat there and wondered why nothing was going wrong. But apparently Karey and her team were behind the-scenes making everything perfect. I would 100 percent recommend his Historic Events. -

To the chagrin of our budget, my fiancée insisted that we invest in a day-of coordinator. We were referred to Karey at Historic Events by our caterer (Relysh Catering), as Jodi of Relysh had suggested that she'd done a number of events with Karey before. Now looking back on the entire process of planning and execution, my wife and I are left with the same conclusions about Historic Events as we had while working with Karey prior to our wedding: This was by far some of the best money we'd spent.
Karey involved herself in a number of our meetings with both the caterer and floral/decor vendor, likely due to her close relationship with those businesses. Her presence at those meetings helped add a level of confidence to our decisions, and it was invaluable to have advice and input that wasn't coming directly from the person selling us the dinner or flowers.
As expected, she and her team did an excellent job of coordinating with all of our vendors leading up to the day-of, which was especially important as this was in some sense a destination wedding for us.
The day-of was equally uneventful (a good thing!), something we suspect to be rare with this many moving pieces. Karey and her team did a good job of managing the event while staying out of the eye of our guests.
We would absolutely recommend Historic Events and Karey for wedding planning/day-of coordinating, as they went above and beyond throughout our time working together. -

I can't even begin to say how unbelievable helpful and wonderful Brittany was as our day-of coordinator. I actually do not know what I would have done without her, but I can say that my day was absolutely stress free because of her and her assistant Ashleigh. Brittany was the liason between us and our vendors, she kept a perfect timeline, and was at my beck and call whenever I needed ANYTHING. She took care of everything, and every worry or stress I had, she squashed it immediately! As my now-husband says, she was priceless. Even he, who normally doesn't have an opinion on much, commented on how amazing they were, and how he was so glad that we decided to hire Historic Events. We can't thank them enough, and would recommend them without hesitation. Thank you Brittany and Ashleigh, for making our special day that much better! -

The things that Karey did for me was beyond what I expected. She was not only a huge help and my right hand women she had to figure out how to make sure all of my vendors were going to be able to do my second wedding date after hurricane Irene cancelled my first wedding date. If it wasnt for karey I really dont know how i would of been able to do it without her. She has so many great ideas and knows how to keep everything rolling. She does great work and is very orgainized with everything she does.Thank you so much for everything you did for me and family for both wedding dates! -

Karey was my right hand and sometime even my left. We had an unfortunate situation 2 months before the wedding and Karey was the shoulder that I could lean on during those stressful moments. Karey and her staff were attentive, quick to respond, co-operative, compassionate and extremely well organized. The whole day ran so smoothly, their attention to detail amazing, from the breakfast and lunch for the wedding party, to special wedding day essential items, Karey, Brittany, Sarah and a host of others left nothing amiss. If there were any issues the day of, I as the MOB was totally unaware of it. Karey and her staff including Karey's husband of 4 months, provided endless hours (someitmes working well into the evening) to assure us a day filled with the most beautiful and lasting memories. All too soon it was over but I think that I speak not only for ourselves, but for my daughter and son-in-law that the monies spent with Historic Events was one good investment! My daughter and I also feel that we have a new friend. Sue -

I worked with Karey and Sarah as my Day-Of planners. I am so glad that they were there with me before and on my wedding day! They are both wonderful women and if anything went wrong on my wedding day, I still have no idea. Whenever I got wide-eyed at the amount of detail a task took, Karey and Sarah were right there to help me out. They got along well with my family and wedding party which was important to me. They worked seemlessly with the catering company and made sure that all of my DIY projects were displayed properly. They even decorated our room for our wedding night when my bridesmaids mentioned that the hotel didn't do a honeymoon package. It was so beautiful that I made my husband take pictures of everything! lol -

Using Historic Events (Melody and Zoe) from my October wedding at the Hyatt Chesapeake Bay was the best investment I made! They are competiviely priced but provide a lot of extra-value and personal service. My family kept commenting on how organized the whole experience was! And I was able to relax the entire day, with full confidence that Zoe and Melody were on top of every detail. If you are considering a "Day Of" coordinator in the Annapolis/Eastern Shore area, you must consider them! -

Melody did a phenomenal job as our day-of-coordinator. We met her at a Bridal Show when we were first looking at vendors a year before the wedding. During that year, she was very helpful with making recommendations to us (i.e. the make-up artist and photographer) and with giving us advice on what to look for in other vendors. Since we live out of state, she was extremely flexible with her time and was willing to meet with us whenever we were able to head down to Maryland. As the wedding date approached, she got in touch with all the vendors we booked and gave them the wedding timeline that we worked on together. She did a walk-through with us and the caterer at the venue and helped out during the rehearsal. All of the little DIY decor that we had worked on over the months she made sure were put on display. When the wedding party before us left behind tacky white columns at the altar she and her team made sure they were removed and out of the way for our ceremony. During the reception the train on my dress wouldn't stay on the hooks and whenever I approached her for help with that she patiently pinned it back up for me (sooo thankful for that!) so that I was back out on the dance floor with little time wasted. She also had our car key and made sure that all the gifts that were given to us and the personal items we used during the ceremony (i.e. the Sake set and my grandmother's crocheted table cloth) ended up in our car so that we didn't have to pack it ourselves. On our last song, my groom forgot to give the DJ the CD that had the song we wanted played, she rushed out to the car and got it without any delay. These are just some of the little things that contributed to an overall OUTSTANDING SERVICE that Melody and her team provided. Melody is a hands-on coordinator, reliable, organized, friendly and always willing to do whatever it takes to ensure your day is as perfect as you want it to be. -

We used the day-of-coordination service for our wedding. Initially we worked with Melody-- she helped us to book and answered a few questions. When we sat down to work out the details Chrissie took over. Chrissie was extremely organized, helpful and professional. She made copies of all of my vendor contracts and helped to come up with a timeline for the wedding day. She also called all of the vendors and confirmed the arrangements. At one point I emailed my venue asking if the rentals could be picked up the day after the wedding (at the caterer's request) and I cc'd Chrissie on the email. Chrissie responded that she had already worked out this detail with the venue. Wow! The day before the wedding she came to my home and picked up a few boxes of stuff that needed to be transported to the venue the next day. The day of the wedding she kept everything running smooth... we had already worked out 99% of the details beforehand so this wasn't much of a problem. However, one of the guests had a heart attack during the reception! Chrissie helped to manage the situation and remain calm and the situation was dealt with a minimum of disruption and embarrassment to the guest (who was transported to the hospital and is ok). We also had a bit of a snafu with the father-daughter dance song and Chrissie helped to fix it. I can honestly say that the wedding would not have been pulled off so fabulously without her. She helped to make sure all the gifts and personal items were packed up in the car, all the little details that I did not have anyone to take care of for me she stepped in to help. I highly recommend her!! I also highly recommend day-of-coordination to every single bride. The last thing you want to worry about is ANYTHING on your wedding day. Get Chrissie to help you :-) Chrissie, I am happy to be a reference for you! -

Melody was our day of planner and made my daughter's wedding day stress free. Since my daughter is in Florida, I met Melody for the first time only 3 weeks before the wedding. She was on time, professional, highly organized and had useful tips for the wedding day. She sent us a detailed timeline which was very helpful and contacted all the vendors the week of the wedding. Where to begin.... I can't possibly begin to thank Sarah, Melody, and the Historic events crew enough! Their hard work and assistance at our wedding made the day spectacular! Throughout the entire process from meeting, to picking colors, talking about rentals, chair covers, floral decor, you name it they were there every step of the way with insite and helpful suggestions. They were even flexible with stringent venue regulations. The staff was able to coordinate vendors, help with our rehearsal, and ensured that the wedding flowed smoothly without any hiccups. They were responsible for the overall setup of our entire ceremony and reception and it was beautiful! I woulnd't hesitate to reccommend them to anyone! THANKS GUYS, 5 STARS! -

I highly recommend Melody Browning, she was technically our "day of planner"," but she helped with a lot of last minute decisions and plans from about a month before the wedding, and she gave me a great recommendation for my wedding gown search in Bridals by Elena. The day of the wedding was flawless, Melody executed all of the tiny details and I went through the day blissfully preparing myself never once worrying whether vendors, centerpieces, chairs, or people were where they needed to be. As the event progressed, she would check in with us and gently kept us on schedule. Everyone remarked how beautifully everything went and no matter what last minute issues arose, Melody always presented a calm, cool, professional and capable demeanor; which is invaluable. Any bride who wants to see their wedding day go from dream to reality and have a carefree time at their own wedding instead of worrying about all of the crazy details should inequivocally give Melody Browning a call! -

Wow, I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful Sarah made our wedding! We had 3 months to plan a wedding for 150 people, on a VERY tight buget, and I completely procrastinated all the way to the bitter end. If that weren't enough of a hassle, I wanted a completely red and black wedding (even my dress was black!) so nothing white was allowed. This was a first for Sarah I think, the anti-white wedding and tattooed bride wearing black, but you'd never know it.
People told me it would look too dark and I wouldn't like it. But I had a vision in my head and I wasn't backing down from it. I'm the lead singer of a pretty hardcore rock band, and I pride myself on being a bit on the wacky side, loving all things that make most other people gasp in horror at my non-conformity, but I wanted it to be gothic, but not halloweenish or morbid, just Beauty with an edge (Like me!) and boy did Sarah make it a reality! No, she made it more stunning than I even could have imagined.
I didn't have a care in the world once she took over the planning, as soon as something popped up that threatened to cause me a bit of stress Sarah was right there to fix it with a smile. Nothing seemed to phase her! She went above and beyond for us, as I'm sure she does for all her clients. She really just seems to love what she does and it shows in a big way. She made sure I was thrilled with everything, and I so was. People are STILL talking about how unbelievable the wedding was, Stunning and unique. Black tablecloths adorned with black magic roses in a glass vase that was filled with this red glowing gel. Candles everywhere and instead of rose petals (boring!), she scattered Red pearl guitar pics at each table. It was Exactly what I wanted!
I'm sorry, I'm babbling but I'm thrilled to be able to leave this review for Sarah and Historic Events. If you want everything you've envisioned on your day (and more) she's your girl :o) THANKS SARAH!!!! WE LOVE YOU!! -

My wedding was more than I could have dreamed. Historic Events made everything seem to run seemlessly. I didn't even know that there were any problems until after the wedding. Words cannot describe the appreciation and gratitude I have for Historic Events Wedding & Event Planning. I cannot thank Sarah Campbell and her team enough for all of the hard work and dedication they provided to make our wedding day so perfect. I initially found out about Historic Events from a wedding workshop that Sarah hosted at Kent Manor Inn in Stevensville, Maryland, our wedding ceremony and reception location. During this workshop, Sarahs impressive presentation offered so many great ideas on how to make our wedding day even more memorable. After attending this workshop, I immediately knew that I wanted her to help coordinate our wedding. I felt very comfortable and relaxed knowing that she was watching over every little detail and ensuring that the vendors were following through with their services properly. Sarah has a real eye for design and element. She introduced me to many of our vendors during the planning process. Her professionalism, quick responsiveness, and flexibility took a lot of stress out of the wedding planning process. Sarahs enthusiasm and awesome personality is contagious. She made it fun and exciting!! Sarah Campbell, from Historic Events Wedding & Event Planning, went above and beyond the call of duty to make our wedding a huge success!! Our guests are still raving about how beautiful everything was and how smoothly everything ran!! The ceremony and reception decor were just breathtaking!! I attended the Wedding Planner class offered by Historic Events and it was outstanding. Sarah, teacher and owner, provided an expert insight into the arena of wedding planners/planning. Her extensive knowledge provided a fantastic grounding in all aspects concerned. The class is held over two sessions (I attended on two consecutive Saturday mornings) and is filled with useful and valuable information. Class assignments were tough and creative but enabled me to gain a valuable insight into the skills and experience needed for a wedding planner. Hands-on experience is also part of the class which is one of the reasons I signed up for the class - this is invaluable. Sarah is a fantasitic teacher and its no wonder she is highly recommended and has a successful business. I highly recommend her class and services. -

Historic Events was my Day of Coordinator. It was such a relief to be able to focus on just being happy that it was my wedding day and not have to worry if details were being taken care of or dealing with vendor issues. Historic Events put me at ease by knowing my wedding down to the detail, so I was confident that they could handle any possible incident and the outcome would match my vision for the day. On the day of my wedding, everything was choreographed beautifully and the flow of the ceremony and various traditions at the reception was completely smooth.
After seeing how harried and upset my friends were on their wedding days having to deal with little things, I would never recommend anyone go without a Day of Coordinator. And, given my experience, I recommend that Day of Coordinator (or planner) be Historic Events. -

Karey and her team were absolutely amazing. My husband and I used the full wedding planning service. We could not have planned a wedding long distance without her help. She always suggested the best best vendors (our reception venue and DJ were both found/ suggested by her and were amazing!). She was also available to talk with me via phone/ email -- even very late at night. She and her team did my flowers and bouquets and they turned out BEAUTIFULLY. Additionally, she had access to so many decorative features (candle stick holders, vases, etc etc) that I had full access to through her.
Best of all, the day of the wedding I was totally relaxed. I knew she was handling everything with my vendors and had a detailed timeline. I didn't have a single worry that anything would go wrong....and it didn't.
Karey and her entire team were really fantastic to work with, helped make my wedding more beautiful, helped keep me on budget, and took away the stress of planning. I would highly recommend their planning and floral services. -

We used Mint Julep for full planning and floral design for our wedding. From the start, we had great rapport with Karey and Sarah. They nailed our aesthetic right away, even just with initial Pinterest boards— they totally GOT us, and look/feel of the event we wanted to have. Getting to use their Aisle Planner software to keep guest list, vendor info, quotes, budget, etc. organized and put together in one place was huge for us. It made it easy to check in on everything and made all the details less overwhelming.
Sarah and Karey met with us at the venue countless times, always productive with planned agendas and visual aids/mock ups. My only item of criticism for Mint Julep is that they were often quite late to our meetings. Once we were all together, however, they did an excellent job at quelling anxieties, bringing us up to speed, and keeping us on-track with the timeline. Sarah was absolutely a dream to work with.
On the day-of, I could not have been more happy with them. Man, did they knock it out of the park with the design, decor, and details! The greenery and florals were exactly as we had imagined. I’m not a girlie girl, but I teared up when I saw my bouquet, because it was clear how much thought and love they had put into it! Table decor, lighting, signage….every little detail was so thoughtful and beautiful. To quote my mother-in-law, who hosted the wedding, “And the Party! We’ve thrown a lot of them, but never have we seen our home transformed so magically!”
Katie, Sarah, Grace, and all their staff were absolutely essential and executing every step of the timeline. Katie, especially, was an amazing coordinator, seemed to be everywhere at once, and kept us totally on track. They were friendly, helpful, hardworking, and several of our guests remarked that the wedding flowed seamlessly and felt effortless! Well, I know there was plenty of effort on the part of Mint Julep, and we are so thankful that we chose them— they went above and beyond for us! -

Sarah was really great to work with. We stumbled upon her from an invitation to one of her small bridal showcases at Kent Manor Inn. It was beautiful and she seemed to really know what she was doing. We actually won a door prize their toward her services so we starting talking to her about helping us come up with a design for the wedding. That was the hardest thing for me to figure out at first...I had ideas of things I wanted...but it was not coming together like I expected in my brain. We met with her and talked about the ideas and she came up with this amazing design that we used the majority of that really got us on track....she was so great to work with...only concern I had at times was it was a little hard to get a hold of her. But, all in all she was wonderful. -

I was referred to Historic Events by a friend of mine who used their services for her own wedding. I contracted with Karey and her awesome team for month-of and day-of planning and coordination services. Karey did a great job putting together my detailed day-of timeline, and was awesome when it came to coordinating all of my vendors, and advocating for my fiance and me at our meetings with the venue in the weeks leading up to the wedding. The best part of working with Historic Events was how thorough they were on the day of the wedding itself. Karey showed up with a full entourage that took care of every single detail, including ones I never realized needed taking care of! They brought my bridesmaids and me lunch to the bridal suite, they transported everything to the venue and had it decorated exactly as I had specified, they brought everything back to the bridal suite, including gifts and cards. The other best parts? They gave the top portion of our wedding cake to the front desk at our hotel and had them store it for us in their private staff fridge, and they even left for my new husband and me a bottle of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries for us in our room when we returned after the reception was over! Karey and her assistants were responsive to emails and were there when I needed them. I found their pricing to be reasonable and I appreciated them working with me as a DC customer, since they are based in Annapolis. -
