Our Dream Beach Wedding Made Perfect by Jill
We had the absolute best experience working with Jill from Mile Marker Weddings and Events. Planning a destination wedding from Maryland could have been stressful, but Jill made the entire process smooth and worry free from start to finish.
She took care of every detail, from securing the permit for our beach ceremony at Sunset Park to reserving our reception dinner location and setting up the most beautiful ceremony space. She kept everything on track behind the scenes and made sure nothing was overlooked. Her communication was always prompt and clear, which made us feel confident and supported throughout the planning process.

They Went the Extra Mile (On a Boat!)
Jill and Brian were terrific! Such nice people and very accommodating. We wanted to renew our vows on the Marathon Lady for sentimental reasons and they were onboard—literally. Brian was our officiant, we had a low key ceremony on our way out to sea, and then we fished! It was simple and beautiful and we couldn’t have done it without this amazing couple. Beach wedding in Key Largo
Brian was our wedding officiant for our beach wedding. He came to our rehearsal and did a lovely job officiating our wedding. He was very accommodating to the additions I made to our ceremony which included a family sand ceremony, several readings, and Spanish arras. Top notch but yet very personable !!
Words can’t describe how great a job Jill with Mile Marker Weddings did . From the first phone call she made me feel like I’d known her all my life & was on spot on with knowing what I wanted . She immediately set us up with a private chef & photographer for our intimate wedding . I was concerned about my ceremony being too small for her since she’s known for doing larger events but she assured me nothing was too small . She turned our ideas into the most amazing setting for our intimate ceremony at our private beach property we had rented for the week . She even set up an amazing table by the water for our dinner . Very special & something I couldn’t have done without her . She even helped me with my dress since I didn’t have anyone in my wedding party . I would post some pictures but I don’t have them back yet from the photographer . I highly recommend Jill for your wedding !!

Absolute Specialist and the Best in Their Craft
We worked with Jill Atkinson-Tharp for our officiant. We had planned a destination wedding and were hesitant on the selection of all vendors. Jill put our minds at ease and followed through with everything she said she would do. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She made the whole process very special and we plan on renewing our vows with her in the future. She also was able to direct a marriage-by-mail service that made everything so much easier. Jill is not just a great wedding planner but such an awesome person! She is energetic, real and down for her brides! I hired her as my month of coordinator after a phone conversation with her where we both realized we were Jersey girls living in Florida and we connected right away. She was always available to take my phone calls and made sure to be there for me for a few issues that arose (vendor dropped the ball on my reserved tent and she went above and beyond to make sure I got one!) leading up to the big day. Jill is down to earth and was so helpful with her ideas and suggestions. She is organized, punctual and on the ball! Everything a bride would want in a coordinator- she is also super fun and myself and my bridal party generally enjoyed having her around! I was able to enjoy my wedding weekend without having to worry about anything. Apparently the morning of my wedding, her assistant dropped out last minute bc she got covid and I had no idea- Jill did it all! She’s the best!

I can’t say enough good things about Jill and Mile Marker Weddings! She was both our Wedding Coordinator and Officiant and she rocked at both! Her husband, Brian, was also there to assist and he did a great job! They did such an awesome work making sure the day flowed well and everything was setup correctly. She took care of the flowers for us and had them to me in plenty of time for photos and the florist she works with did a gorgeous job. Our ceremony was beautiful, the perfect length, and let us express ourselves as a couple. I cannot say enough good things!

Jill was absolutely wonderful for our small beach wedding. I had a vision and it far exceeded anything I could've hoped for. We asked her to move closer to the water for our ceremony so we could have our feet in the sand and she made adjustments for exactly what we wanted and had to make adjustments to support the arbor. She officiated our wedding and was absolutely perfect. Clear communication back and forth with us as we live in Ohio. I would definitely recommend Jill for anyone! Thank you Jill!

What would I have done without Jill?!
When doing research online for our intimate destination wedding in Islamorada, I came across Jill (officiant) and Mile Marker Party Rentals...and what a blessing that was!!! Jill was incredible to work with! She made planning for our destination wedding easier and was willing to show us some wedding locations when we were in town. Magical Stress Free Wedding Day!
We can’t thank Jill enough for making my niece’s wedding day everything she dreamed of and more. We originally hired Jill as the day-of-coordinator for my niece’s destination wedding weekend for 140 guests in Islamorada. Shortly after, we extended to having Jill’s support securing vendors and to relieve the stress of the wedding planning process. Jill is very experienced, knowledgeable, organized, friendly, resourceful and very easy to work with!

Deciding to get married in the Florida Keys can be a bit daunting when you live 1,000 miles away in Minnesota! Once connecting with Jill all that changed. Jill was ever so helpful and took the time to answer all my many questions and made many helpful suggestions. She was our Officiant and helped to form the perfect wedding vows. She suggested a fabulous photographer, Maggie Sayer, who was excellent. She also helped us have the perfect wedding on a minimal budget. Jill knows weddings and I would highly recommend her! Our wedding was on 1/19/19 at Hawks Cay Resort. Jill was our Day of Coordinator, and she was amazing! Throughout the planning stages she recommended vendors, helped with details, and brought a lot of positivity. Having her there on wedding day was so valuable. Jill was awesome! The sustained some damage during Irma, but she didn't let that get in the way of our wedding! She was always easy to get ahold of and was very forthcoming with details and ideas. They were so busy the weekend of our wedding they dropped everything off early (with our permission of course) and that actually helped with calming the nerves a little. Morning of, Jill showed up on time to set up and we got everything figured out pretty quickly (I even made a schematic to try to help!). I could not have asked for a better place to get all of our rental things from. Great job!!!!

I just can't get over how perfect Jill and her staff were. I was planning a small wedding from Minnesota in 4 months time and she made everything perfect. I never saw the place I was going to have my wedding before we got down there and never met Jill in person. She sent me a ton of images to help me visualize and gave me great suggestions. She even officiated the day of the wedding and was such a blast. I don't think I've ever met a kinder, more energenic person. She definitely made the day perfect.

We did not use a wedding planner for our destination wedding, which we ended up regretting, as it was a bit stressful to plan and coordinate from afar, especially the last minute details. We used Mile Marker for our wedding at the Caribbean Resort in Islamorada on April 9th and also hired Jill as our coordinator. There are absolutely not enough nice things to be said about Jill and her girls in the office. From the get go me and my maid of honor drove down to meet Jill in person in her office in Marathon and were beyond impressed. She knew our venue like the back of her hand and really listened to everything we wanted for our day. She assisted me with coming up with our ceremony template and came to our rehearsal and stayed for the rehearsal dinner as well. She arrived early the next morning and was there all day until she went to change for the event and stayed till the very end. The next morning she was back super early to assist her crew with breakdown and personally shake our hands and make sure we got everything we needed. Her staff always answered my never ending emails the same day and really listened to our vision. Jill truly gave us the most beautiful wedding and is an incredibly sweet person to work with! If you use Mile Marker you will be sure to have a stress free planning and she will become like another part of your family at the wedding, she did for us!

If you need any assistance with your big day, look no further than Mile Marker Party Rentals! They literally have every assistance available from tents, officiant, planner, etc. Jill was so sweet to work with! The week of our wedding she had to become our wedding day planner because of our initial planner's impromptu emergency. Jill had everything right on point! There was no need for me to worry because she took care of everything and even texted me throughout the day to see if there was anything else I needed. I can't recommend Mile Marker Party Rentals enough!

The staff at Mile Marker were so prompt with their communications and so helpful! Prices were great and they were flexible on delivery. Jill herself checked in on us frequently, even on wedding day. Even though Jill wasn't my coordinator, she and her staff helped me to plan out things I would need for my entirely outdoor venue. They went out to my venue to map out what size tents I would need and where we could put them and on the day of my wedding they rushed out to fix the sail shades that had come loose due to the wind and rain. And their Boat Bar was the highlight of our event space. They dropped off and set up everything the day before and picked it up the day after so we didn't have to worry about anything on the day of the wedding. They were great and so easy to work with.

We were married in my parents backyard on Sugarloaf Key this November with 180 guests. We were looking for an easy, laid back, tropical island-meets-vintage French country picnic (is that a thing?!) - or as close as we could get. As I am all too sure many party planners and brides experience, this can be a stressful time. What you want is not only good service and quality products (both of which Mile Marker has), but kind people... patient people... people who understand you have a lot on your plate, you just need some help and ideas, and to know you're in good hands. That is what Jill and Erica and their team provided us. From the start of the conversations in the spring to the final event in November, they could not have been more helpful or accommodating or available. Even when something got mixed up with one vendor, Jill personal got involved to ensure it was fixed. It caused us no stress or hassle, which is the utmost you can ask for and to get it all with smiles and kindness was just a blessing. I hope to never get married again! ;) but if we do get a chance to throw another soiree in the Keys, we'd definitely go back to MMPR!

Everything from making sure that the grounds were prepared, to setting up the tent, tables, chairs, boat bar, gift tables, etc. it was honestly incredible. The team made everything as beautiful as we could have ever imagined. Even when I didn't have a vision they did and it was amazing! Thank you for everything!!!

Helpful and accomodating best describes the girls at Mile Marker! They got back to me right away everytime I asked questions, custom installed a covering that a family member made and then helped me with last minute lighting! No need to look any further. MM Party rentals is the epitome of professional and courteous. My wedding is in November and is a destination wedding. I have sent them countless amount of emails and I have received a quick response and all the help I could ever ask for. Their prices are very reasonable and the staff is great. I've personally spoke with Erika a few times and she is a doll to work with.

I am so happy the Mile Marker team was able to work with us for our wedding in February! The week of our wedding was the first time we had even traveled to they Keys, so planning everything from a distance was a bit of a challenge. Luckily Mile Marker had set up weddings at the house we were renting several times before, and Erika went out of her way to send me several recommendations and suggestions on how to set up the beach - including some photos of previous weddings at that house.
Every small question and change I requested (and there were many) were quickly responded to with plenty of detail and adjusted in our contract. From the little details like table sashes to the gorgeous bistro lighting - we were so thrilled with how everything came together! Our reception was a big hit - the bartender was super fun, and the boat bar was so awesome!!!

Mile Marker Party Rentals is top of the line! We were married in Marathon, which was a destination wedding for us. (All the way from WA state) They were able to accommodate all of our changes in color, number and styles as plans progressed, went out of their way to find specific items we requested, and most of all, responded quickly to all emails. We rented the arch, tables, linens, dishes, chairs, tiki torches, and more; it was all perfect. The services they provided were also the best I've seen. When the chairs were moved and candles lit, no one even noticed and the bartender was incredible. You can't go wrong with Mile Marker!

We had our wedding in Islamorada on November 8, 2014 and rented tables, chairs, glassware and a P.A. system from MMPR. I probably changed our list of equipment needed 9 or 10 times as our guest list was finalized and our preferences evolved. Jill and Erika were ALWAYS responsive and ALWAYS willing to help. In fact, the equipment was dropped off on Thursday (11/6) when we arrived at the venue to start setting up and was picked up on Monday (11/10) so we had plenty of time to break everything down at a leisurely pace. Prices were in line or lower than competitors and the variety of items available to rent was much greater than other vendors in the area. Plus, Jill and Erika aren't pushy at all!
MMPR is run like any business should be run: highest quality customer service, flexibility for customers, great pricing and selection and they put the customer first. Jill, Erika & crew run a Class A operation!

We cannot recommend Mile Marker Party Rentals high enough! Nothing was too much trouble for Jill and Erika and they provided so much help and advice in the run up to our big day. Mile Marker were so helpful in sourcing lots of extra details for our big day which was really helpful considering we travelled to Florida from the UK and didn't know what we could or couldn't get locally! As an officiant Jill was absolutely fantastic and so flexible! She was so flexible with our vows and let us do everything exactly how we wanted.

I rented chairs, an aisle runner, water bottle stand, and a sand ceremony table from Mile Marker Rentals. They had all of this plus my small details I brought from home such as chair sashes amd hanging jars, set up beautifully. Jill did a wonderful job as an officient. We felt very comfortable and at ease. The wedding could not have been any more perfect to us and Mile Marker Rentals was a huge part of this!

We worked mostly with Erika through the planning process. She was quick to respond to all of my emails and was always very detailed with prices and pictures to display options. This was so helpful as we were planning from out of state! She was thorough in everything and was willing to do as much or as little as I asked for help with. We showed up to their office a couple days before the wedding and they were so flexible and helpful as we added some additional decoration pieces! Our wedding day was perfect and we couldn't have been more happy with all of their help!

Jill made our reception look beautiful!!! We got the perimeter lighting with the paper lanterns. it was so gorgeous!! The ambient lighting it gave the reception was perfect. Looking at our photos I am so happy I went with Mile Marker to decorate the reception. Those girls definitely know what they are doing and are passionate about what they do.

Erica helped me (through my coordinator) procure a tent with just a few days before my wedding when it looked like it may rain. We were doing this our selves so we were just renting things from them. But you would have thought they were doing every thing. Jill was amazing and Ashley who came out just to keep an eye on things as they were being delivered , outstanding. Any question I had Jill had an answer for me and they can do it all from renting to proforming the ceremony. And if you don't know where something or someone is she can tell you. Made it a special day not to have to worry about the little things.

You are the absolute best in the business, and my daughter and my niece say the same for the décor at the bridal shower at Island Restaurant. Jill officiated and coordinated our wedding in December, and it would not have been the same without her. I have been going to Marathon for Christmas for 23 years now but Jill gave us a list and showed us a whole other Marathon we didn't even know existed. We used one of her recommendations for the evening before (Salty's) the wedding and what a blast we all had.
Jill is high energy and gets things done, she is very well connected in the Keys and can provide very valuable information. And day of your ceremony, you won't have one worry, she has taken care of everything and is such a professional.
She is in the unique position also of being an officiant, a planner/coordinator and managing the party rental and supply. Truly one stop shopping for absolutely everything you need. Planning a wedding can be very stressful but it doesn't have to be if you have Jill.
