    Amazing experience during pandemic

    We had our family member's wedding there recently and I played the role of the wedding planner. The Venue was amazing with each ballroom having its own style and character. We had our ceremony at Madrid ballroom and the reception at Valencia ballroom. These two ballrooms were adjacent to each other and were very convenient for us to manage the guests. The Meridian team helped us with all the decorations, supply of audio and video equipment and cutlery. This made it very convenient for us and their prices were competitive. They had an extensive inventory of special event chairs and decor items, that we did not have to go out to any other rental place. They kept us in the loop regarding all the planning and things that they were taking care of, especially in view of the changing rules of the state government due to the pandemic. Their pre-event walkthrough meeting helped us immensely to plan precisely under difficult pandemic circumstances. We were also given a free two hour schedule for our wedding rehearsal dinner. They set up sanitary stations, checked the temperatures of the guests and helped us have a wonderful time while trying to keep all of us safe. It truly made it a day I will never forget. Thank you Meridian for all your help!

    Great venue and experience at a reasonable cost

    From the decor to the staff, it was perfect!" Having our event at Meridian convention center was the best decision we ever made! If u want professionalism, class & elegance, look no further. Gorgeous Venue!! Very beautiful, elegant and detailed. The staff were very professional and made the wedding event exceptional. Thanks to the Meridian team for their flexibility and professionalism.

    Disaster, rude unprofessional, unsanitary

    This place starts out very professional, until I had to deal with one of the owners the day of rehearsal. When we booked the wedding date the place was very clean and breath taking floors and decor. The day of rehearsal they were still doing renovations. They sanded walls, floors left dusty and nasty, paint buckets were in kitchen sinks, fly strips hanging from the kitchen ceiling, repairing tile baseboard, painting. Bathrooms were nasty, I had to clean the bathrooms picking up stuff off floors, trash bins in bathrooms and kitchen had trash from last event. We were told we had to make sure all trash was empty before leaving. Noone from the event center checked and cleaned after last event. Mirrors were a mess.
    The event planner told us we could have the center for decorating the day before wedding from 12:30 until 3:30..than we were told we had to leave 30 minutes earlier due to they wanted to paint. Than the rehearsal was scheduled for 4 to 6, same rude person told me that we had to leave at 5 due to need to paint. I explained to him that there were people coming in at different times due to work and traveling from Alabama. He was very rude and I told him the best we could due was 5:30. The wedding day was a disaster! Still painting, bathrooms were never cleaned, the beautiful floors were a mess, sanding walls, painted the room that the bride and her attendants were to get ready for the wedding. They were told to be careful the walls were wet.
    We could not decorate the front entrance like we were told we could because the walls were wet with paint. The smell of paint during the wedding was unbelievable!
    The rude person and I exchanged words during the cleaning up. They were pushing the cleaning and we paid for the area until midnight. They were finally cleaning the floors after the wedding. They were wet buffing and we had to tell people to be careful not to slip and fall. This place did not think to far ahead if someone fell and got hurt the event center would be responsible. I asked them what was the hurry, the wedding was over..they should have done that before the wedding because it was embarrassing how the floors were so nasty during the beautiful wedding.
    He asked me what is your name? I told him it didn't matter what my name was...I was telling the truth. If I dealt with him when we were booking, we would never booked at this location. The lady that we dealt with was very professional and nice, that and the cleanliness was what sold us. Different story once the booking contract was signed and we paid in full. I could go on and on about how unhappy my family and I are about this event center. I rated it an one because there is no negative rating to post.
