Best hair and make up artist
Melissa was my hair and makeup stylist for my October 2025 wedding, and I honestly can’t say enough wonderful things about her. From the moment she arrived, she brought such calm, positive energy—it felt like having one of my closest friends by my side. She’s so easy to talk to and truly made me feel like the most beautiful version of myself.
Melissa went above and beyond in every possible way. She didn’t just make sure my hair and makeup were perfect—she helped me into the car while it was raining, fluffed my dress train right before I walked down the aisle, and even took my furbaby for a quick walk before she left so we didn’t have to worry. Those thoughtful little things meant so much to me and my family. My mom and grandma couldn’t stop raving about how lovely she was!
Having Melissa there on my wedding day was such a blessing. She’s professional, kind, and genuinely cares about her brides—it shows in everything she does. I’ll absolutely be hiring her again and recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will make you look and feel amazing inside and out.
One more tip: Definitely do a bridal trial with her! I loved my look at the trial, but somehow on the wedding day she made me feel even more stunning. She’s truly the best. 💕 -

Last month I got married at The Sanctuary on Roosevelt Island, and I had the pleasure of working with Jackie Fanara, an artist from Melissa’s makeup team. She was an absolute joy to work with from start to finish- it felt like hanging out with an old friend! She is so incredible at making her clients feel comfortable, listened to, and pampered. She went completely above and beyond- when the bridal party was finishing photos outside and it started pouring, she got SOAKED while shielding my bridesmaids and making sure everyone was able to get safely from the park to the vehicles to inside the venue. She literally used herself as a shield and then proceeded to to help everyone get touch ups while they dried off- by the time the ceremony had started, no one would have had an idea that everyone had been rained on. By the end of the day, she was everyone’s best friend. She was an angel that day and I am so thankful she was my artist. If you’re looking for an incredibly talented artist who will charm you with her positive attitude and incredible sense of humor- Jackie is your gal. Special shout out to Tressa, who did the makeup for my mother in law and few other people’s on my husband’s side of the family- they all loved her and said that she made them feel so special! And of course, shout out to Melissa for being lovely and communicative while setting me up with her team! -

I can’t say enough good things about Melissa. I was devastated after my first bridal hair and makeup trial with a different stylist did not go the way I wanted it to. Melissa came to our house for our trial and made me feel 1,000x better! She gave me a more natural airbrush makeup look and an effortlessly beautiful wavy side part. I have never felt more beautiful in my life. The biggest thing my husband wanted was to see my freckles on our wedding day, and Melissa made it happen! Melissa was also super helpful about answering questions I had for myself and my bridal party leading up to the wedding! She is a true professional and she did an amazing job with her partner for my bridal party, mom and the mother of the groom on our wedding day. If you’re looking for a hair and makeup artist in NY or NJ, Melissa is your girl! She’s the best! (Photos are from my trial with Melissa — had a different hair piece for wedding!) -

Melissa is nothing short of the pinnacle of professionalism and talent, even during a pandemic she delivers unparalleled work while maintaining all safety measures. I have never felt more beautiful than after Melissa worked with me for my trial and ultimately my wedding day. I came to her with hair extensions that DID NOT match, unsure if my own hair length would be adequate enough to style my hair how I'd like it. She create the most beautiful and timeless side swept style. Something I could not have ever imagined would work on me and my god was i shocked! I felt like I had stepped out of the 1940's hollywood era. A true timeless look. My makeup was created from a number of different inspiration photos i came to her with. She mixed. custom color for my foundation and airbrushed me to perfection. My skin was flawless. Her style was the perfect blend of impactful and beachy california inspired without making me look too cakey or over done. As a New Jersey based bride, I've seen my fair share of over the top bridal makeup and this was absolutely not that. It was light, fresh faced, clean, and beautiful.
Overall Melissa delivered my hair and makeup service far beyond anything I could have ever asked for or imagined and I would recommend her to anyone I could! -

Melissa has always been my go to for hair and makeup so when it came to my wedding day I knew exactly who to call! She is very knowledgeable and knows how to achieve practically any look you may want. Melissa is so easy to work, professional and really puts you at ease. She listens to what you want and makes sure you are happy with the results. I was so happy with how my hair and makeup turned out and received so many compliments from friends and family. I gladly recommend Melissa to everyone I know! -

Melissa was a dream on our wedding day. Not only did she take every change and new request in stride (multiple additional people wanted their hair done after they saw the initial results from others), but she produced STUNNING hair for everyone. I have finicky curly hair and my partner has straight full hair and she made magic out of both of them. Both of our hairstyles lasted like a dream all night (without needing massive amounts of product or hairspray to keep it that way). Couldn't recommend Melissa more highly! -

I had a practice hair/makeup session with Melissa which went REALLY well - I was so excited for my wedding day. She was willing to try everything I wanted and was very flexible in planning. In between our practice session and the wedding date, i was diagnosed with cancer and started chemotherapy. I had lost so much hair by the time the wedding came around that I was nervous about my hair/makeup.
She came so well prepared on my wedding day. She brought me eyelashes which looked beautiful on me, was able to make my eyebrows look just as thick as before, and did my hair without even practicing it beforehand! My hair/makeup was absolutely perfect. I could not have asked for a better experience with her. She managed a difficult family situation with ease and professionalism.
She is also really well priced! She has a minimum # of people who need to get hair/makeup done but the overall price is very reasonable in comparison to other NYC area artists.
