We hired Megan as the photographer for our elopement in Mount Rainier National Park, and it was the best decision we made! At this point in your research you’re probably already well aware of Megan’s impressive portfolio full of stunning portraits with dramatic backdrops, but she offers so much more!
She provided us all the information necessary and kept us on track throughout the planning process. Shes knows (and respects!) the trails, including the pros and cons of all the best locations. She knows what to expect, how to prepare for the unexpected, and exactly how long allow for all of it!
Wanting to avoid planning stress is part of why we chose to elope, but unfortunately planning even a small celebration can feel overwhelming at times. That’s when having a resource like Megan is key. Being able to fully trust and feel confident in Megan’s abilities lifted so much stress off our shoulders. Her expertise and guidance were absolutely critical to the success of our big day! I can’t imagine feeling more prepared than we did in the days leading up to the wedding, and we never once had to worry about the timeline the day of. We just let Megan take the lead, following her gentle cues, while still being able to keep our attention on each other and fully immersing ourselves in the moment.
We planned our day imagining sunset photos with an epic view of Mount Rainier, but the PNW got the best of us when we were completely socked in with clouds. We were admittedly a little bummed to not have gotten the weather we hoped for (even when trying to our best to be realistic in our expectations) but after receiving our gallery, I can’t imagine how we could possibly feel anything was lacking. Just WOW! We were absolutely blown away! Not just by the gorgeous ethereal vibes of the clouds, but by literally every photo she took! She captured our day perfectly, even the moments that we didn’t know we wanted captured. Our photos just look like “us” and we couldn’t be happier with them!
Megan, thank you so very much for all your hard work that made our day feel effortless, and then again for capturing it all so beautifully. You make it easier for couples to celebrate themselves authentically, and that’s truly invaluable. -

I cannot say enough about how amazing Megan was. We flew out to her for our engagement shoot at Rainier and she flew to Colorado for our wedding. Our jaw is seriously still on the floor from the photos she got. They are everything we could have asked for and more.
More than that though, Megan is an awesome person and made both of our days spent with her even more amazing. We loved the time that we had to get to know her and her strory and felt so comfortable in front of the camera with her because of those moments.
She was so on top of things, down to the smallest details. She knew how Type A I am and shared bunches of information along the way with me (including an awesome map showing exactly how the sunrise was going to come up at our first look location). On our wedding day, she kept our timeline running perfectly. So much so that I was actually able to stop thinking about it and just live in it (which for me is near impossible!).
If you're thinking about hiring her, just stop and do it. I seriously scoured the entire country for photographers that can capture these epic mountain photos with a vibrant aesthetic, and Megan is IT. Do it. -

Two words: Book Her!
Working with Megan for our elopement was amazing from start to finish. We were worried of feeling overwhelmed, however she made the entire process very easy and helped us in making decisions that we were stuck on, based on both what we wanted and her experience/expertise. This was our first photo shoot as a couple, but we felt very comfortable and relaxed with Megan’s guidance and trusted her. The entire experience - I wouldn’t change a thing. And her photography? FLAWLESS!
Stop thinking about it and just jump. You won’t regret it! -

Hire Meg and don’t look back!
Hiring Meg to document our big day was one of the happiest last-minute change of plans when our original photographers backed out with TWO WEEKS to go…
She swooped in with impeccable organization, experience, and an incredibly positive attitude that carries throughout our whole wedding day. She even drove us back to the reception venue when our keys got locked in the car at Mt Baker, and then lent me a change of clothes - talk about above and beyond! Then, to top it all off she delivered our gallery in record time.
Thank you for being more than a photographer, Meg! Needless to say, we wish we had found you from the beginning ❤️ -

Megan is absolutely wonderful! My husband and I are super awkward when it comes to taking pictures. She made us feel completely comfortable, made our wedding experience fun, kept us calm when the weather decided to change it's mind (common in WA), and was super flexible with us our wedding day. She was also super patient with our family, my bridal jitters, and our photography wishes. Megan loves her work! You can really tell that, from when she is actively working with you and when you receive your magical pictures. Our wedding pictures are pieces of art and we proudly show them off whenever we get a chance (our family too)!
I can never thank Megan enough for capturing our wedding day and engagement pictures. She even took our daughter's first birthday/family pictures! She is someone that will always hold a special place in our hearts and will in yours too! I recommend her to everyone, because everyone deserves their love captured and turned into masterpieces. You deserve someone that goes above and beyond - you deserve Megan! -

I found Megan Montalvo Photography during a google search when I was planning our elopement. After researching several photographers in Washington State, Megan's photography stood out amongst all of them. I emailed her and received a quick response. We set up a Zoom meet and my husband and I knew that Megan was going to be a perfect fit to photograph our special day. Megan was so knowledgeable and experienced with photography. Everything felt much easier to plan after speaking with Megan. Megan provided us with many resources to help plan our elopement such as; makeup artist, hair stylist, florist and lodging. Megan eased any stress we may have been experiencing planning an elopement out of state and helped us throughout the entire process. The day of our elopement was magical. We started with the first look in which Megan played a beautiful song for us. We then drove towards the area where we planned to take more pictures and elope. We decided that since the road was closed, we would hike up to our ceremony location. We had an absolute blast hiking on the day of our elopement with our dog and we were delighted that Megan was excited to hike with us. Our wedding pictures exceeded our expectations and were absolutely beautiful. We highly recommend hiring Megan Montalvo Photography. We cannot wait to hire Megan again to photograph more beautiful memories in the mountains of Washington. Hiring Megan was the best decision we made and I promise that you will not regret it. -

Beauty and Perfection
Working with Megan was nothing short of amazing! We had never been to Washington and were a little nervous about what we were getting ourselves into, but Megan helped us every step of the way. She helped us with every detail and everything felt like it was easy and we never felt pressured. When the elopement day came it was everything I could have ever dreamed of. Megan made us feel special! I wouldn't say either of us are very comfortable in front of the camera but with Megan, it felt like the camera wasn't even there, it was fun, natural, and more beautiful than anything I could have hoped for. She captured our most authentic selves and I one hundred percent would recommend working with her! -

Megan is the absolute BEST. She delivered on our engagement pictures and our wedding pictures. She was incredibly organized and I suspect the main reason any part of our wedding followed our timeline (since our planner did not do this). She made our pictures fun to take which was great since both my husband and I are incredibly awkward in front of the camera. We’re looking to hire her again for more pictures of us in the great outdoors (her specialty and man does she deliver).
Bottom line: 10/10 recommend -

Like what you see of her work? HIRE HER. Megan did our engagement session and microwedding and will do our anniversary party (COVID pending) and well, any other time we can find a reason to have photos taken of us, haha! If you like her style, which I do, you will be ssssooo happy! I describe her style as clean and true yet dynamic. She doesn't over filter, her colors are more dramatic than airy, she uses a more documentary-style approach but can still poise you if you're not a natural model- which my husband and I so are not, haha, we are neither comfortable in front of a camera nor are we as physically affectionate as most couples, but she made us look good! I do think she may be a bit on the expensive side, but photo and video is 100% where you should invest more, because you get more than timeless photographs from Megan: she is experienced, confident, decisive, so very practical, always professional and inconspicuous in capturing moments, knows both when and how to guide you along, and never identifies a problem without bringing a solution for it-- and that right there is priceless for a bride! If you're looking for videography --which you should because pictures are everything, but video captures an emotional quality that you can relive-- Megan pairs well with Alexis of Green Attic Films! -

Let me start by saying that there were a lot of details that go into a wedding that I didn't really care about, but I knew that I wanted the most amazing photos because it's all you have at the end of the day. From our first meeting with Megan (and her cats) I knew she was going to be amazing! And boy did she deliver!! The photos of our day turned out absolutely stunning!! She made ordinary backgrounds look extraordinary! It was nothing short of a pleasure working with her and her second shooter Asia, who was so kind and also got some of my favorite shots! It is hard to pick a photographer but if Megan is available for your day, run quickly to book her, you will not regret it! Your money will be more than well spent! Thank you Megan for documenting our most perfect day! -

Megan is an absolute rockstar. First, she was 7 months pregnant while shooting our wedding and didn't miss a beat. Her easy-going personality put everyone at ease, but don't let that fool you - she's possibly the most organized and focused person I know. I didn't have a day-of coordinator and Megan seamlessly helped lead us through the day, not to mention her photos are GORGEOUS. My husband and I really wanted someone who could truly document our day, not send us home with lots of staged, stiff still-lifes. Megan's style perfectly captures what we wanted - photos of our friends and family celebrating with us, lots of candid moments, and editing that reflects the actual lighting fo the day (not a heavily filtered sepia Instagram look). I'm honored that through the process of working with her, Megan became a friend and not just our photographer! -

Sarah Sent on 08/13/2018Megan did a PHENOMENAL job with our engagement pictures at Mount Rainier National Park! Not only am I camera shy, but I typically don’t like how I look in photos. Not only was Megan incredibly friendly and comfortable to work with, but she is straight up MAGIC with the camera. When I received the gallery I was stunned to find that I LOVED every. single. picture. Each shot was expertly composed and looked like it came out of a dream. I had more than a few people tell me that my engagement photos were the best ones that they had ever seen. You will absolutely not regret hiring Megan as your photographer.
