User2322912 Sent on 09/18/2015The Mediterranean Deli provided excellent food and excellent service. Multiple people at my wedding made the comment that this was the best food they have ever eaten at a wedding. (I think a lot of them didn't even notice that my entire event was vegetarian!) Even more impressive was the staff. They seamlessly incorporated items that my family provided (drinking glasses, wedding cake, beer, and wine) alongside their own food, and made everything look beautiful. They provided bar tending and cake cutting services, and very discretely moved around throughout the evening and gathered all used glasses and plates to keep the place clean and uncluttered. They did an expert job of making the event run smoothly, and, at the end, everything was organized and packaged and ready for transport home. They even packed the leftover food into "to go" containers. I cannot say enough good things about them. (Not to mention, going to their location in Chapel Hill to select the spread for our wedding was the most fun and delicious afternoon I can recall!) Choose them. Trust them. Relax and enjoy! -
User2482302 Sent on 12/27/2015My husband and I are from Chapel Hill, and Med Deli had been one of our favorite restaurants for years. We initially contacted them to cater our rehearsal dinner, but their coordinator was so much more responsive than the reception caterer we had initially chosen, and we knew the food was going to be delicious, so we chose to have them cater the wedding reception instead. Also, the amount of free food we got at the consultation was crazy :)
We had poached salmon, Moroccan chicken, fennel salad, hearts of palm salad, fatayers, hummus, pita, grape leaves, and falafel on the menu. The food was phenomenal, and the wait staff (including the bartender) was great as well. They took care of everything, including saving my husband and I some food, setting up the bar, and setting up and cleaning up our plate/utensil/glasses rentals (we rented those from our tent rental company, though Med Deli offered dinnerware rentals as well). All in all the best value we could've imagined from a caterer! -

They have so many different options, handle a variety of dietary restrictions with ease, and their pricing was super reasonable. They also provided staffing at the reception which included set-up, serving food, and clean-up. The manager of my reception venue said Nabil and his staff were wonderful to work with. Most of my dealings with Med Deli was through my wedding planner. She has worked with them numerous times so she knew what to expect and what they needed. Pre-wedding communication from what little I dealt directly with Med Deli was confusing and a bit disorganized. We struggled with getting a detailed invoice prior to the wedding so we could know expect our final bill to be. Without my planner I think I would have certainly been more stressed. But the day of the wedding everything went smoothly and the final invoice was correct. -

The setting was beautiful, the staff was wonderful, and the management was professional. Not to mention the delicious food! They are a little pricey, particularly when there were $2000 of miscellaneous expenses in the end, but you get what you pay for. -

We couldn't be happier with how the food turned out on our wedding day from Med Deli. Multiple guests complimented the food, we loved it, and the service was excellent. Our only complaints would be with the communication during the planning process. They would be a little slow to respond at times, which wasn't a big issue, but two things worried us as we prepared for the wedding. First, Med Deli would only price out the entire menu for us without being transparent what certain items cost or what would be good to replace them for an equal or less budget, etc. Second, they called the day before the wedding to "confirm" a lot of information and had some wrong including the time off by 3 hours. This was not ultimately a problem since they did call and got the facts right, but it had us very worried that they weren't fully prepared the day before the wedding. Despite these small worries, the end result was perfect - amazing food, great service, and a decent value on our wedding day.
