This is the most stunning property and boutique hotel. We did their “I Do” package for our small wedding and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Sara and Monica took unbelievable care of us the day of and made sure everything looked perfect. I was blown away by how stunning they made everything and how lovely the were to work with. The rooms are beautiful and unique and the bar had delicious cocktails. I can’t wait for our next stay.

Our wedding dreams came true this summer at the Maxwell Mansion! This is an elegant space with everything you and your guests will need. The staff, especially Kaitlyn and Ashley, were exceptional helpful and responded to all questions promptly. We would highly recommend this venue for your wedding!

My husband and I had our wedding at Maxwell Mansion in September of 2017 and everything was perfect! Not only is the site beautiful but the staff is extremely accommodating and flexible. They worked with us to stay within our budget and had also recommended a fantastic caterer. The only drawback to the venue is there is not a working kitchen so any caterer that is going to cook onsite versus bringing in hot boxed food will need to have a kitchen tent set-up outside, which is not intrusive at all, but does cost extra through the caterer. All of my guests raved about the uniqueness of the venue and if you get the weather right, the grounds are simply stunning!

From the moment we walked into Maxwell Mansion we knew it was that special place where we would exchange vows in front of our family and friends. Maxwell offers an intimate, unique and elegant setting that everyone will forever remember. Over three months later, our guests are still talking about our magical day. We owe a huge thank you to the Maxwell Staff for helping to make our dream come true. Luanne was great to work with as she was always available to answer my (sometimes daily) calls and make decisions and recommendations that turned our vision into a reality. She personally helped us through the wedding planning process from day one until last call on our wedding night. Luanne, we can’t thank you enough! Everyone at the Maxwell Mansion were very friendly and made us feel right at home from the beginning. It was awesome having the property to ourselves so our family could spend quality time together before and after the wedding. The different buildings allowed for both the grooms wedding party/family and the brides wedding party/family to stay on the property. The rooms were beautiful and well maintained. The pool and apothecary bar was a great place for guests staying at the property to hangout on the days leading up to the wedding. The speakeasy bar was a perfect meeting place for after the rehearsal dinner. Our guests really enjoyed themselves!

The tent they coordinated for us was beautiful and the ballroom was perfect during the day for our first look as well as a unique dance floor at night! All in all, we couldn't have been more happy with our venue choice : )

My husband and I stumbled upon Maxwell Mansion on a Ghost Tour of Lake Geneva one night when they were hosting a wedding. After getting engaged we toured the property and it was everything we wanted for our small wedding. There were a few hurdles at first, but it may have been due to turnover of the staff. Some of our guests called and tried to book rooms on the property, but no one answered the phone and they made arrangements elsewhere. Kaitlyn was very helpful with odds and ends that we needed to account for. We held our ceremony and dinner on the back patio under a tent and did an amazing job at flipping our space. Kaitlyn was also presented during the day and would check in to make sure everything was going ok and if she could help. Our wedding day went smoothly due to the staff being attentive and helpful.

we held our 20th class reunion here and it was a great location. The staff was great and they were flexible with what we needed for decorations and food, etc.

I spoke with the owner of the property at length about their event policies and required minimum accommodation and beverage spends. She was initially very friendly and informative and I was excited to work with her. Because I am very conscious of my wedding budget, I specifically asked if there was a venue rental fee for the common areas in addition to the required buyout rental of a block of guest rooms on the property. I was expressly told that there was no venue fee. I selected a date to put on hold and asked to be sent a contract for review so that I could book my date.
Despite following up via phone and e-mail 10+ times, I did not receive any documentation from this vendor for more than six weeks. I had concerns about this lack of communication, but I gave the vendor the benefit of the doubt because fall can be a busy season for wedding vendors. When I finally received the written cost estimate from an events coordinator, there was an additional fee that was alone more than DOUBLE the cost of the half-property accommodation buyout. Thus, the cost for the venue alone was TRIPLE what the owner of the property had told me during our call. The cost estimate also stated that the guest room prices for the required accommodation buyout were subject to change with no percentage cap on the potential increase. As an attorney, I interpreted this to mean that the venue would have the ability to significantly increase the room prices before the wedding and we would be contractually obligated to pay whatever price they asked. This could leave us exposed to significant additional expense, on top of the exorbitant additional venue fee. After receiving the estimate, I reached out to the property owner (who I originally spoke with) multiple times over several weeks to get clarification on the significant additional venue fee since she had told me that there was no such fee. I thought that maybe there was a miscommunication or that this was a new policy since it had taken 6+ weeks to get the estimate after we spoke on the phone. However, the owner has ignored all of my e-mails. I had my heart set on this venue after originally speaking with the owner, and I am now back to square one and feel like I have wasted months of my limited wedding planning time. I am disappointed and disheartened; my fiancé and I are seriously considering an elopement after this experience. I would not recommend this vendor to anyone.
