    Perfect alterations!

    Although I didn't purchase my gown at Matina's Bridal, Mira did my alterations. For religious purposes, I also needed a jacket made for my ceremony so that my arms were covered. I was concerned that the jacket would look like an afterthought, instead of part of my gown. Mira couldn't have done a better job at creating the perfect design, and my gown alterations turned out amazing!

    Unlike other places that I spoke to, Matina's doesn't give you a set number of alteration appointments, and they allow you to come as often as you'd like to try your dress on. Other shops told me that I would get 2-3 appointments, and then, I'd have to pay to come for additional appointments. The way Matina's does alterations was so much easier! I also live out of town, and Mira came in on her days off to meet with me so that it worked with my schedule.

    Mira is talented, professional, and kind. It was a pleasure working with her and Julie.

    Highly Recommend

    The staff at Matina's Bridal went above and beyond for me and made finding my dress so special for me mom and grandmother! They made sure everything was perfect including my accessories, veil and alterations. Amazing experience!

    Matina's Bridal is the best for service and style

    Matina's Bridal was one of the best choices I made during my wedding planning process. Not only did I find the most beautiful bridal gown, but Julie went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help me. I had small civil ceremony during the pandemic and Julie made sure my dress was there, pressed and perfect. I will never be able to describe my gratitude for all her help, support, and cheer! I can't wait to keep working with the staff there as I prepare for my reception in December.

    My princess gown

    Matina’s Bridal was the first and only place I needed to go! The 5th dress I tried on was the one! The staff was always so welcoming and accommodating! The dresses are each individual works of art and all stunningly beautiful! Brides go to Matina’s Bridal for your dress!

    I got my wedding gown from Matina’s and can’t say enough wonderful things about the lovely ladies that work there! From scheduling my appointment, shopping for THE dress, fittings and picking out my accessories, Julie was so incredible, kind and patient with me. Mira did my alterations and my dress fit perfectly! I purchased my jewelry, hair piece and veil there as well and couldn’t be happier! My bridesmaids also got their dresses from Matina’s and we had a blast shopping and finding the best dresses for each of them. Our wedding day was amazing, and I have Matina’s to thank for helping me look and feel beautiful on the best day of my life!

    Julie and the rest of the ladies at Matina’s bridal were nothing short of fabulous. They made me feel so special and beautiful while trying on dresses. They were never pushy or in my face about the style / price of wedding dress I wanted. They were extremely helpful in guiding me towards the right silhouette and style I had envisioned. I had my dress altered here as well and it fit me like a glove! I had a great experience here and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for not only a wedding dress but a wedding dress shopping experience you will not forget!

    The Perfect Dress

    This was the third bridal shop I visited and I was struggling because I found a dress I loved elsewhere but it was way out of our budget. Thankfully, my mom & sister convinced me to try one more shop and I found the most perfect dress for my Outer Banks beach wedding (and within budget!). Julie and Bobbi were so helpful. Bobbi pulled probably 10 or so dresses for me and I kept saying no until the last one, which I put on and started to tear up because it was so perfect! So, what I'm saying is, I got a lot of time and attention, which was wonderful. Additionally, they have a seamstress in house which was a HUGE plus for us as the other shops we had to find our own. The tailoring was amazing. We did, I think, 4 or 5 different fittings, each time the dress fitting me more perfectly. Mira also added straps which was a must have for me. I can't say enough kind things about the staff at Matina's. They really made the experience enjoyable, especially for someone like me who was extremely self conscious about the way I looked. I felt like 1 billion dollars on my wedding day... and my husband loved it too :)

    Matina's Bridal is simply amazing. Julie was so friendly and professional. They carried great designer brands and had Amsale, which was exactly what I was looking for. Their selection of jewelry and accessories were awesome as well! They make sure to keep their inventory new and updated, so I knew I was always seeing the latest bridal fashion. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a unique good quality dress.

    Beautiful, high-end designer bridal dresses. Dresses are unique and not able to be found in big box bridal stores. Great customer service.

    Wonderfully knowledgeable, professional, and great quality! I purchased my dress elswewhere and went to Matina's for alterations. I would not have trusted the intricate bead work with anyone else! I am so pleased with the service Matina's provided.

    Matina's Bridal and their staff are simply AMAZING. I had gone dress shopping with family and friends at several other shops and nearly convinced I had found "the dress" several times - but still felt unsettled. I went shopping, by myself, at Matina's and found the perfect dress - a beautiful Amsale ballgown. Through the fittings and accessory purchase to the final pick up, Matina's was so supportive, helpful, and fun to work with!

    I didn't buy my dress at Matinas, but they performed my alterations and I also bought my accessories (veil, belt, and hair piece) with them.

    I purchased my wedding gown on-line (monique lhuillier) for an amazing price, but it had a weird "couture" neckline (i had a love-hate relationship with it until I realized it wasn't good for my body type) and was too big. The dress was of course all intricate lace as well as horse-hair at the neckline and I was wondering how anyone would be able to make it into the dress I envisioned (we actually highly considered trying to sell it ourselves and just buying a new dress from scratch). But Mira who does alterations was able to create the PERFECT dress for me -- the neckline, bodice, and overall fit was amazing. She listened to all of our concerns (my mom and I -- we often had differing opinions!) and was extremely flexible considering I changed my mind a BUNCH of times. She also worked fast and efficiently, working with my hectic schedule. The prices for the alterations were very, very reasonable. Mira is basically a miracle worker -- it really could have ended up as a disaster in anyone else's hands. I don't know what we would've done without her.

    The veil, belt, and hair piece were also beautiful accessories and of very high quality. The veil in particular is stunning.

    Julie the owner is also very nice, professional, and flexible. Even though we only did our alterations there, she always made us feel like VIP customers. If I didn't get my dress online, I would've probably have gotten my dress there!

    I loved all of the beautiful dresses and service I received. It was the nicest bridal shop that I visited and I could not have been happier with my dress!

    I got my DREAM wedding dress from Matina's. It was the only dress out of the 20+ dresses I tried on from other bridal shops that I absolutely fell in love with. The woman that does the alterations there is absolutely amazing and I think she is 100% worth the extra money. She is also very sweet and personable. The rest of the staff can come off a little snooty, especially after my dress was purchased, I didn't feel like I was treated with the same amount of care as before, but hopefully this is something they can work on in the future with other clients.

    Again, I absolutely loved my timeless and elegant wedding dress, I cannot thank Matina's enough for being a part of our special day.

    By far the worst retail experience I've ever had. If you've ever seen the movie Selena, it was a scene straight from the movie. I walked into the bridal shop located inside Eton shopping mall in Beachwood and the lady who greeted me whom was very polite over the phone, was not very welcoming. The first item I touched she immediately responded "just so you know, that is $1200" I kindly said okay and as I browsed some more she followed me and when I pointed to a dress I liked she said "oh you must have expensive taste because that is our most expensive dress here" and then pointed out the off the rack section. Mind you, I am a very well groomed individual as well as my matron of honor who accompanied me. Even to physically stereotype me, shouldn't have caused her to be so rude aside from the fact maybe that I am Hispanic. She never asked my budget nor did I say if I even had one. I did not try on anything I left immediately. By far a bride to be's nightmare. Even had I gave a budget and that exceeded it, there are nicer ways to make those comments especially when every bride knows that your wedding dress is worth every penny and then some. Only plus was I was running late due to traffic and when I called she said that was not a problem (but probably because it was a tiny shop with no other business) and I can see why no one else was there.

    My experience here was terrible! I had an appointment. When I walked in the woman said "Do you know exactly what you want, because I don't have time for you to try on 20 dresses." As if that was not enough, when I found a dress I liked, I asked a friend to take a picture and was yelled at screaming "no pictures!! NEVER!." when I told her I needed to show people in my life, she said I could facetime, but the only person I can facetime with is my mother, because she is all that matters! Really? Then after having the dress on for 2 minutes she said "ok, you done yet? ready to take it off?" I would NEVER go back there. The dresses are overpriced, all looked the same, and the service was aweful! I do NOT recommend this place!

Also, it may come to a surprise to some, but it is a store and often industry policy that photos of the dress cannot be taken until a purchase is made.     If you’re not made of skin and bones you aren’t welcome

    First off I was call the day of my appointment and asked to cancel and reschedule to what worked best for them. The sales lady who “helped” me was very unfriendly. My matron of honor arrived a half hour early to just get a feel for the place. About 3mins before my appointment began the sales lady said to her “Where is she? Is she coming” in a very rudely manner. I walked thru the door exactly at my scheduled time. So I was not late.

    As soon as I walked through the door the sales lady seemed very put off that we were there. She asked for my likes and dislikes in dresses. I showed her some pictures and elaborated on all my likes. After that discussion we stood there in silence for what felt like five minutes until the sales lady finally said to us “well are you going to look?” We were all kind of baffled because we are waiting for her to make the first move and to start pulling out dresses for me since I just spent a great deal of time explaining what I was looking for. That was not the case, she did not help pull any dresses at all. From my experience going with the other brides along with one previous experience of my own, the sales ladies always go and start pulling dresses since they are very familiar with what they have. Basically the time I spent explaining my likes and dislikes was a total waste of time.

    There were also multiple times where the sales lady was speaking and my bridesmaids would state their opinion. The sales lady would respond to them very unprofessionally and rudely with remarks like: “you are not the bride” “I’m not speaking to you” “Are you the bride?”

    My matron of honor is very strong supporter of small businesses and new entrepreneurs. She even made a comment that she would never recommend this place to anyone.

    I found what could have been “the dress” But because of my experience at the store it made me not want to purchase from them. So my search continues.

    After posting this review on Facebook I got a message from the owner apologizing. Then she continued to request that I remove my review!

    Dear Dannette, We are sorry to hear of your experience and we always appreciate feedback. I would have welcomed a call to me, the owner, with any problems or concerns hoping to remedy the complaint. Unbeknownst to you, the family at Matina's Bridal has had a horrific few weeks [COVID & non-COVID RELATED] that then culminated in the passing of my father on Tuesday. In addition to my own personal loss, our staff has been through a lot in recent weeks. Your appointment had taken place after being closed for this family emergency. In hindsight, perhaps we should have waited a few more days before re-opening. I apologize that your experience was less than excellent. Anything less than that is NOT OK. We take pride in offering our brides-to-be a wonderful experience for their pursuit of the gown of their dreams.
    In regards to my request for removing your recent review, I was hoping you would understand the circumstances after we messaged privately because small businesses truly care what our guests think. Obviously this year has been difficult for everybody, including small businesses and the people they employ. We are a small business with only 5 employees. When something happens to one of us, it happens to all of us.
    Ultimately, we want to do our job to the best of our ability, but sometimes life gets the best (& worst) of us. Again, we apologize that you did not get the service you had hoped for and deserve. We hope you find the dress of your dreams. If you still love the one from Matina’s Bridal, I would be happy to personally have an appointment with you, just like I offered in our private message. Either way, I wish you peace and comfort through what may quite possibly be the most uncertain holiday season of our lifetime.

    Go Anywhere Else

    I’m posting now that my wedding is over and it’s time to leave reviews of my experiences. I made an appointment in June of 2018 to look at wedding dresses. It was my very first time even looking at wedding dresses and I was so excited for such an important part of planning my wedding. When I arrived, Bobbi was the “stylist” working that day. I told her how excited I was for my first appointment to look at dresses. While walking around the store and looking at the various dresses available, I asked about sizing and what would be available in my size, or close to it, or if the dresses would be clipped(I’m a size 10 in non-wedding dresses, but did not inform her of my size). Bobbi informed me that there wouldn’t be anything in my size, and that nothing would probably fit me ( I believe she said there’s “nothing to clip if there’s no extra fabric”). It was clearly a comment about my weight. I let that comment go, too excited about trying on dresses. Bobbi insisted she be in the dressing room with me while I undressed and put on dresses. I found this very very weird but again, it was my first appointment and I didn’t know any better. While in the shop, I was allowed to try on 3 dresses. My appointment lasted all of 15 minutes before my dad and I were shooed out of the store. There was no one else in the shop and a walk-in person came and was told she could not look around. I cried in the car after we left and my dad was upset that Bobbi had treated us so poorly. We were expecting to spend more time looking at dresses, and to be able to try on more than 3. I’m sad that the memory I have of my first wedding dress shopping experience is so awful. If you are looking for a wedding dress and want to have such an important event to be a positive experience, go ANYWHERE ELSE. Based on the other reviews here, many others have had the same experience I did.I ended up with a beautiful, beaded dress from BHLDN- a much better experience than this place provided.

    Worst bridal store I have ever dealt with in my life! We ordered a hairpin for my sister's wedding in two months ago. We were promised it would be there in 6-8 weeks. We called to see when it would be coming in because it was almost hitting that 8-week date and we were told that it wasn't going to be here for another two months! They lied about how long it was going to take to get in the hairpin. My sister has hair trials to do and she obviously has to have the pin for it. When we called back and said we don’t want it because it isn’t here in the time they said we signed a contract and we have to buy it. Also, we paid up front for it, so they’ve had our money and still haven’t gotten the pin to us in the timeframe they promised. After talking to the rude and completely unhelpful owner, she said it would be they said they would have it in a few days. And now because of their mistake, they won’t let us out of the contract, even though they have lied to us again and again. My sister doesn’t even want it anymore because it has been such a stressful ordeal. I will never go to Matina’s for anything again. All I can say is thank goodness we didn’t get her dress there because who knows what horrible thing would have happened then!
