Mastiff Sausage Company absolutely nailed it at our wedding!! One of the most important things in our wedding vision was food. Our life day to day revolves around food, family, and love - so we were extremely focused on making sure this aspect was perfect.
Our wedding was held at Building 177 in Liberty Station, San Diego November 9th, 2019. Mastiff provided incredible service, attention to detail, and of course an unforgettable spread of epic food. After speaking with so many vendors and not finding one with the right quality and options of food, with a budget that we could work with- we finally came across Mastiff!
They were extremely quick to respond to our inquiry with several options of large catering menus with additional options for cocktail hour appetizers and desserts and even late night snacks! The food sounded incredible and so much like our style and taste! We immediately scheduled a meeting with Jacob for a tasting and to discuss options in more detail at their North Park location.
Wow!! We were absolutely blown away by the quality and flavor of the food. The passion behind their craft is truly evident!
Throughout the planning process they were so helpful and helped us customize the perfect menu to ensure that all 150 of our guests would be truly satisfied. People still talk about it to this day and visit their Liberty Station and North Park locations frequently!
For cocktail hour we chose the arancini, citrus shrimp, cheese and fruit spread, and seasonal empanadas! Right off the bat -So impressive! It was to be a long day and evening so we wanted to make sure our guests were well fed - and Mastiff absolutely came through. They also provided our BYOB bar service flawlessly, making sure every guests was happy.
For dinner, we chose a buffet style with their famous Tri-tip, citrus chicken, mushroom risotto, and a fresh salad. Sooo much flavor!! Sometimes in large banquets flavor and quality can get lost, but this was NOT the case with Mastiff! The servers were also so accommodating (especially to my husband and I- they made sure we always had champagne and a full plate during the busy day.)
To make sure the party could continue - we had late night bites. It was so cool to see the Mastiff food truck pull up on the patio and dish out these goodies. Servers even came inside to pass around Chicken and Waffle Sliders and TJ dogs. Seriously everybody lost it when those came out ! In the best way !
Mastiff touched upon every detail we could have imagined ! Beyond the food, they provided the plates, silverware, and linens - in addition to the BYOB bar service. We are eternally grateful for the epic food and service! Truly made our wedding memorable! I'm even more happy we can enjoy their food whenever we want in our hometown!!! Thanks Mastiff!!! -

Sellecca Sent on 04/17/2016Jacob and the whole team at Mastiff were amazing! I was told before we got married that the most important aspects of a wedding are food and booze. Mastiff did not disappoint. From the appetizers that were flowing through cocktail hour to the sausage toppings station- we were more than satisfied! Guests are still raving to us about the appetizers which included Mastiff fries, homemade spicy meatballs, pickled veggies, and shrimp cups... It was delicious. For dinner guests had a choice of bratwurst, old fashioned frankfurter or a cognac mushroom chicken sausage. At the toppings bar, Mastiff offered bacon crumbles, blue cheese, sour kraut, and their homemade spicy hot sauce or coarse mustard. The groom and I both finished our plates! They were willing to work with the event space restrictions and were very responsive to emails and phone calls. Their truck is the cleanest/ most professional one I have seen and the staff is prepared and friendly. I am so happy with our experience. I hope to have another event to use them again!! -
User2447107 Sent on 11/30/2015Jacob and team at Mastiff Sausage Company recently did our wedding at Luce Loft downtown and we could not have been happier. Jacob was prompt, professional and responsive in all our communication with him prior to the wedding and really went the extra mile to give us a tailor made menu that met all our wishes. On the actual day they arrived early and made our coordinator's life easy as they had everything ready to go, no hiccups. As for the most important part, the food, it was OUTSTANDING! Numerous guests commented on how much they enjoyed all the food. The harissa aioli potatoes as a passed appetizer were a particular hit. Also the truck looked amazing as always, great photos were taken. The team cleaned everything up unobtrusively throughout the night and discretely made an exit so that the party could transition and dancing could begin. Could not have done it without these guys and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to cater an event.
