Amazing! The best wedding cake experience I could’ve asked for!
Mary is an extremely talented baker and decorates her cakes and cupcakes so beautifully. She is also a pleasure to work with. Mary created the wedding cake of my dreams with fun cupcakes to match. She is very reasonable and makes the most delicious cakes I’ve ever tasted. She is now our go-to for birthdays, family parties and other fun events. I can’t wait for our 1 year wedding anniversary to have our wedding cake again!Mary is an extremely talented baker and decorates her cakes and cupcakes so beautifully. The best!!
My family has worked with Mary for other weddings, family parties, and events for years, so using her for my own wedding was an easy choice though I had never dealt with her directly before. Mary was a delight to work with, her prices are fair and she was flexible when my fiancé and I needed to pick up a tasting box to-go. Mary was willing to do any sort of combination or design that I requested and the final product was gorgeous, not to mention delicious. People were bringing slices of cake with them to the after party! I do not think we will be able to wait until our one-year to eat the top layer that we saved. My husband and I cannot say enough about Mary! She is so lovely! From the
moment we met, we could just tell she was amazing! We had a few
"out-of-the-box" ideas for our same-sex wedding and Mary was so on board! We
wanted the colors of the rainbow for the first layer of our cake and she
made it happen flawlessly! It looked so cool and was such a hit at our
wedding! My husband and I both wanted to surprise each other with grooms
cakes (how she kept that a secret, I'll never know!) and they came out
incredibly. She is certainly a master at her craft! Not only were all of our
cakes beautiful, they were delicious and extremely affordable! Everyone
loved them! She made us feel so comfortable and confident throughout the
whole process. We can't thank her enough for being open-minded, genuine, and

They chose to do a 2 layer cutting cake with sheet cakes to be served to the guests. She has a variety of cake and filling choices, each one more delicious than the next. Her pricing is very reasonable for the quality and service you receive. Mary is the best! I would highly recommend her to any bride or anyone planning any type of event - I used her for my wedding cake and then for a bridal shower I planned a few months later. She is so sweet and her cakes are DELICIOUS (the almond is sooo good!) and beautiful - she took my ideas from Pinterest and brought them to life! She is really easy to work with, very responsive and flexible with pick-up / drop-off, and the prices are super reasonable. Thanks Mary!!Mary is the best! We were so happy that a friend referred us to Mary. We actually ended up having her make 2 cakes for us, since everything at the tasting was absolutely AMAZING & we couldn't just pick one!! She was very flexible too with cake options & was willing to bake anything that you wanted, even if it wasn't on her list. Her prices are EXTREMELY reasonable, she was very responsive, delivery was on point, and the cakes were amazing the day of the wedding. Mary produced another beautiful and delicious cake for our family. We brought some pictures and she sketched an original design on the fly. The finished product was lovely and unique. She is a talented artist, and a skilled baker.

Why spend the money that a bakery charges on your wedding cake, when you can have Mary make you, that not only looks amazing but also tastes amazing. From the minute we walked into Mary's house for our tasting, I knew we had made the right decision in having her make our wedding cake. She was so warm, flexible and welcoming. I gave her a picture I saw in a magazine and she said she would have no trouble making it! She even made me a funfetti cake, which was not one of her standard options. A week before the wedding, I was having reservations about the icing flavor I chose not being sweet enough for most people's liking and expressed this to Mary and she said no problem that she would still go with my choice but try and make it a little bit sweeter so most would enjoy! AMAZING CAKES!!!
When I have attended weddings in the past, the cake is not typically the item that I tend to remember. However, I attended a wedding last June and their wedding cake was made by Mary Elliott and it was PHENOMENAL!! I have never tasted a cake so wonderful! The filling had whipped cream and strawberries and was so light and refreshing. As soon as I tasted the cake, I KNEW I had to have Mary Elliott make my wedding cake!
Scheduling a consultation with her was extremely easy. We met with her and she prepared a mini cake broken into four quadrants to provide each flavor combination we requested. She also included a mix of both American and European butter creams. We took home the portions that we did not eat there.
Thankfully, Mary Elliott was available to do both my grooms cake and wedding cake. For the grooms cake, I sent her a picture of Mr. Met (my husband is a Mets fan) and she perfectly created a cake with him on it. Everyone LOVED it! The wedding cake was a beautiful four tiered cake with almond cake/chocolate truffle filling, white cake/whipped cream and strawberries filling, and chocolate cake/chocolate mousse filling. EVERYONE was raving about how excellent the cake was!!
Mary Elliott is word of mouth for a reason...she doesn't need the internet to get her name out to brides!

"Buffy" made two cakes for us. A Wedding cake and a Groom's cake. They both were amazing! The Groom's cake was Elvis, Ravens, Gambling theme, and music notes... It looked AWESOME and everybody loved it. The Wedding cake was very rock themed and ended up being exactly like the pictures. She is so talented and the best priced in town! I would use Mary Elliott for all of my future cake needs. She is incredibly talented - as a baker and an artist. Even during our initial consultation, her artistry was evident in the designs she drew for us.
Mary and I discussed cake flavors over email, which included cake flavors, fillings, buttercream/fondant, size, and design. During our cake tasting, we visited Mary at her home and were greeted with a very professional boxed display of the cake flavors and fillings we had discussed. All of her cakes are very moist and flavorful, without excessive sugar.
Our wedding included a sizeable vegan guest list, which meant we needed on tier that did not use eggs. Mary was very accommodating and figured out a way to incorporate our design and cake flavors to complement this request. On our wedding date we received numerous compliments on the vegan-friendly tier of the cake.
She has albums of cake designs that you can peruse, but she is also very capable and willing to design something unique for you. For the cake design we opted to incorporate our honeymoon as the theme and wanted a tiered cake with a top that reminded us/everyone of the whitewashed church domes on top of Santorini, Greece. She had never made such a design, but initiated her own research for images that she would forward to me. I found this incredibly helpful and a fun process. We felt completely relaxed and "at home" while we shared our ideas and preferences, and she included us in her thought process.
Aside from her professionalism, Mary is a very down to earth and kind person. Mary made an unbelievable wedding cake for us!!! It was so beautiful, and sooo delicious! We had guests telling us that this was the best wedding cake they ever tasted. I gave Mary a photo of an intricate Tim Burton cake and she duplicated this and tweaked it fit our whimsical garden theme perfectly (with smoothed European Buttercream icing! no fondant). I was in awe when I entered the reception and saw what she had created. She is so talented, sweet, flexible, and very easy to work with. I had no worries about our cake as soon as we met with her. Mary is so communicative and makes sure she knows exactly what you want. It doesn't hurt that she can bake a mean cake. Holy cow, cake was SO good. My guests said it was the best wedding cake they've ever had and I'd have to agree with them. Kinda wish I could have another wedding just to have another Mary Elliott cake. She and Mary Ruth Chapin should go into business together. Mary & Mary would take the Baltimore wedding scene by storm.Mary is so communicative and makes sure she knows exactly what you want. Kinda wish I could have another wedding just to have another Mary Elliott cake. She and Mary Ruth Chapin should go into business together. Mrs. Mary was fabulous! I found her highly recommended by other "Knotties" on theknot.com's Batimore forums board, and she also came to me as a recommendation from my coordinator at the Tremont and from my photographer. Everyone knows and everyone loves Mrs. Mary! Her cakes are above and beyond in taste, and they are so beautiful. She is a very talented lady. My husband, who really isn't too much into sweets, says his favorite part of the planning process was the cake tasting at the Elliott's. We decided on an almond cake with lemon curd filling and the other layer was chocolate cake with raspberry jam filling, and the icing was delicious and smooth European buttercream... the funny thing is that I told Mrs. Mary in the beginning that we would NOT be having a fruity cake because I hate fruity cake. We both laughed at how in the end my mind changed! We also tried vanilla cake with mocha filling and vanilla cake with chocolate fudge (ganache) filling... also equally delicious! Mary was also so sweet, and upon my request she made a small surprise birthday cake for my mom, with a Lilly Pulitzer fabric design I sent to her 5 or 6 days before the wedding. We got married on my mom's birthday, and she was shocked when our band called her to the dancefloor and my Tremont coordinator brought out the cake with a big candle on top... the band had everyone sing happy birthday to my mom and she was shocked to say the least. It was great. We're definitely going back to Mrs. Mary for future cakes. Thank you Mary Elliott!!Mrs. Mary was fabulous! My wedding cake was AMAZING! Mary definatly makes the most amazing wedding cakes I have ever tasted. From the minute I met with her I knew I was going to use her as my baker for my wedding day. Her cakes are absolutely delicious and are very affordable. When I saw my cake the day of the wedding it was better than I had even envisioned it. MARY IS THE BEST--We had a ton of ideas of what we wanted our wedding cake to look like, and she was able to make our vision com together beautifully. She bakes the most delicious cake I have ever tasted. Mary also went out of her way to let us borrow a cake stand as we did not have money in the budget to rent one. Mary is wonderful and talented. She works out of her own home and only works on one cake per weekend to ensure that your cake receives her undivided attention. Mary was easy to contact, really flexible when we decided to alter our design and extremely affordable. Our Groom's cake was only $30! Her cakes are truly a work of art. We will now be getting all of our future cakes from Mary. Choose Mary if you want a baker who really cares about you and your special day rather than making money.Mary is wonderful and talented. We loved our cake! Mary was so incredibly sweet, responsive and easy to work with. The cake was absolutely delicious and we got nothing but compliments. Unfortunately our entire cake wound up being cut (we had planned on saving the top tier) but Mary offered to bake us another top tier just so we could have it on our anniversary. We loved working with Mary and would most definitely recommend her to any other couple.We loved our cake! Mary was so incredibly sweet, responsive and easy to work with. The cake was absolutely delicious and we got nothing but compliments.
