Truly Happy Beauty stuck with me through 3 rescheduled weddings and delivered a gorgeous look for all!

Margie and the Truly Happy Beauty team are really exceptional in every way. Despite rescheduling my wedding multiple times throughout the pandemic, they remained steadfast in their commitment to my wedding party and had exemplary communication throughout. My bridesmaids, mother and mother in law all had extremely different preferences and styles, but the team managed to bring out their natural beauty exquisitely! My hair and makeup lasted the entire night despite sweating profusely during the reception, and they gave me an adorable and helpful touch-up bag to ensure I could keep the look fresh all night! Pictures of my hair by the end of the night prove that my half-up/half-down loose curl look stayed in tact and looked exquisite the whole night. Their pricing is an incredible deal and all the stylists were such a joy to work with and truly so much fun. Book them!

I've never felt more beautiful

As the title says, I have never felt more beautiful than when Margie did my hair and makeup for my wedding day! I felt like the prettiest version of myself, yet not painted on. She enhanced my natural features, and I felt completely comfortable from start to finish. Margie, the owner of Truly Happy Beauty, was so professional, efficient, and calming the whole time she got me and my bridal party ready. If I ever have another wedding lol or another major event, I will be hiring Margie!!!

Amazing hair and makeup!

Margie is phenomenal ! I have curly hair (as do all my bridesmaids) and I was worried about a look that would last me from first look photos at 3pm til midnight, and Margie delivered! Truly Happy Beauty did the hair and makeup for me and my three bridesmaids as well as my mother and MIL. Everyone looked fabulous and my bridesmaids raved about how great their hair and makeup was! My mom was concerned about getting her makeup done, but Margie put her at ease and made her look natural yet elevated. My hair and makeup was FLAWLESS and lasted all night. I was nervous as I had never had my hair and makeup professionally done, and Margie listened and helped guide me to the look I wanted. I cannot be more grateful!

Extremely attentive, talented, kind and genuine artist!

Margie and her team are amazing! Not only is she an incredibly talented artist, she also listens to exactly what you want and executes the look perfectly. She asked me several times if I liked how I looked and also requested input from me on color preference before applying certain products like blush and lipstick! She made me feel so comfortable and confident on my wedding day. She went above and beyond to not only ensure I looked beautiful while walking down the aisle, but also was present for all of our family and couple photos -- reapplying powder and lipstick and spraying any rogue hairs into place. She made me look like myself, only elevated. My parents and husband told me it was the most beautiful I've ever looked! She took so much stress off of me during my wedding and exceeded all my expectations. I can't recommend her enough not only for her talent, but her sweet demeanor, kindness, professionalism and compassion day-of! You will not regret booking Margie and her team! Love!!!!!!!

Having a wedding with two brides means double the hair and makeup budget, and that was something we hadn’t really accounted for when we decided to get married (shocking, I know!). Among all my inquires, Margie was the single hair and makeup artist who featured a wedding with two brides on her website, and the only one who offered us a discount on the bridal rate to help accommodate our bloated budget. Choosing her was an absolute no-brainer. Working with her and the artists was extremely easy, and we both looked like the most stunning versions of ourselves on our wedding day. Shoutout to Marie and Natalie!!

Seamless and Attentive

Margie was communicative, professional, and punctual. Even when time got short, she stayed cool and kind to my bridal party, making us all feel less nervous. The hair stayed all night, it was romantic and whimsical and Margie added her own touch to my idea. Can't recommend her highly enough.

Margie and her team were excellent!

I had a seamless experience working with Margie and her team for hair and makeup at my October 2023 NYC wedding. I wanted a fairly natural look and she achieved this. My makeup stayed put all day. My hair held up well despite pouring rain (hello all fall Saturdays in the city). I had 8 girls getting hair and makeup and the schedule worked well that we didn’t have to be up insanely early which was important to me. Would definitely recommend!

Truly happy with my bridal makeup (and hair for my party)

I loved working with Margie and hairstylist Esmerelda for my recent wedding! I'm not a big makeup person, and my now-husband also prefers a natural look, so this was one of the vendor decisions I was most nervous about getting right. I am truly so happy I went with Truly Happy Beauty! At my trial, Margie talked through every step of the makeup application process and created a lovely, soft, glowing look. I got to try out a few lip options (and would have been able to test out more if needed, but she totally nailed it, so there wasn't really a need). Margie also has a warm, comfortable presence; it felt easy to relax and trust her. This trust carried through the planning and preparation process with a series of informative emails leading up to the day. On my wedding day, Margie and Esmerelda arrived at the venue prompt and prepared, and created awesome makeup and hairstyles for my mother and bridal party. Highlights included a much-anticipated French twist (mom) and an elaborate woven updo (sister). I have very short hair so did not have it styled myself, but was grateful that my dearest friends and family were in such great hands - everything looked beautiful and stayed in place through a long, hot day (with lots of dancing). Margie and team were friendly and kind throughout, and we were ready to roll for pictures ahead of schedule, which I'm told is rare on a wedding day. I felt comfortable, confident, and like my best self on this very important day. I am so thankful to Margie and her team for their excellent work, and wholeheartedly recommend them.

We all looked beautiful

Working with Margie at Truly Happy Beauty was such a delight. Her team of artists did on-site makeup and hair for my five bridesmaids, my mom and me in about two hours, which left us plenty of time to sleep in and laugh and chat with each other throughout the process. We all looked fantastic. I’m not typically a big makeup or hair person, but she gave me a natural and beautiful look that held up the entire day without touch-ups! It was really easy to look through her instagram and pick some inspo pieces since I didn’t have strong opinions and hadn’t done a run-through. Thank you so much to the Truly Happy Beauty team for making us look our best!

Absolutely Amazing Team!!

I worked with THB this past weekend for my wedding and let me say Margie and Esmeralda were amazing!!! It was an absolute pleasure having THB on my special day. From day one, Margie was really responsive, very professional, and so kind. She worked with me in creating a schedule and hairstyle and makeup during my trial. I wanted something natural and she delivered. I was so shocked she matched my skin tone in one try. The day of my wedding Margie went above and beyond. I needed some assistance with putting on lotion and a necklace and without asking Margie went and helped me. She did not need to do that, but she did and words cannot describe how happy I am with Margie. My hair and makeup looked amazing and lasted all night, even after doing some headbanging to heavy metal. My bridesmaid and mom also looked amazing. Their makeup also lasted the entire day. We were all getting so many complements the entire night. I highly recommend hiring THB for your special day.

The BEST Hair and Makeup in NYC!

Margie is absolutely AMAZING & a MUST HIRE! I am so lucky I was able to work with Margie twice for my weddings - thanks to COVID. She is beyond kind, personable, flexible, easy and extremely professional. She is beyond thorough asking for you to provide pictures of all girls hair and makeup inspiration, thickness of hair to set up an appropriate timeline for each guest to be ready on time. My main concern was looking like I had too much makeup on or just didn't look like myself. Margie was able to make me look and feel absolutely stunning in an "elevated natural" look. My makeup & hair lasted all day in 85+ degree weather in Hawaii - no touch ups needed. My large wedding was in Maui, where I traveled to solely for a makeup trail and I absolutely did not look or feel like myself. Margie shared she does travel and I was so lucky she was free for my date. Wherever you are getting married - hiring Margie is a MUST. I am so lucky to have had her in NYC and Maui for my special days! I recommend Margie to all my friends and I am hopeful to get to use her again in the future!

Gorgeous Hair & Makeup for my wedding!

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Margie and her team! I'm originally from NY, but live in London. This meant there were lots of emails back and forth, but Margie was super helpful answering all my questions and putting me at ease throughout. I scheduled my trial 4 days before my wedding when I landed back in NY. Margie was patient with me as I explained the look I wanted and then worked together to bring it to life. On the big day, Margie and Daisy were calm, professional and covid safe - wore masks, clean products, etc. They were fantastic at doing hair and make up for myself, 5 bridesmaids and a flower girl! Sometimes when I have makeup done professionally, I don't think I look like me, but not this time. The soft glam look was just the right amount and I felt beautiful and confident. All the girls looked stunning with their elevated looks and everyone's hair and makeup stayed in place all day, from 12pm to 12am! Flawless! Would definitely recommend Margie and the team :)

Fantastic Beauty Team

Margie and her team provided hair and make-up services for myself and 9 others on the day of my wedding - everyone looked flawless and hair/make-up lasted throughout the night! Amazing from the first email

After contacting so many other hair and make up artists who gave little information, Margie sent a detailed email with costs and the way everything worked in her first email. Even on vacation she was responsive and answered every question! She connected me with Jaxx who was INCREDIBLE. So much fun to work with, gave me exactly the look I wanted and was an absolute joy to spend time with on the wedding day while getting ready with friends and family. She even helped redirect other vendors who were stressing me out and made sure I was having a great experience. And my very curly mostly down hairstyle and make up made it through the entire 90+ degree day looking like new. Highly recommend!

Margie is amazing

I was having a small Central Park elopement that was taking place at 7:30am. Margie helped plan my timeline, she suggested a 5:15am arrival time and arrived right on time as she promised and got my hair and make up done exactly how I wanted it and early enough that I wasn’t rushing to Central Park. I was so happy with the results, would totally recommend her. Not to mention the fact that she is super friendly! Def book her!

Margie and team were amazing!

The short version: Hire them! The makeup look was natural, the hair stayed in place and she was great to work with.
The longer version: Margie and her team were awesome. My main concerns were looking natural and price, and Margie delivered on both. Everything looked really natural and she was by far the best priced (especially for the quality) vendor by far.
On the wedding day, they were right on time, stayed on schedule despite a bridesmaid being late, and were flexible. All of my bridesmaids and my mom loved their hair and makeup and looked amazing.
Margie was great to work with from my trial. She let me start with a smaller contract due to the uncertainty of weddings during covid and let me add hair and makeup for all of my bridesmaids a few months before the wedding. She also stayed for touchups through the ceremony which I highly recommend.
Everyone loved her and I would definitely recommend her to anyone getting hair and makeup done.

High quality, All-inclusive, No-stress glam squad -- Skilled with East Asian Beauty

Margie and her team were a dream to work with. So many of my girlfriends have utilized the Truly Happy Beauty team for their wedding -- a testament to their excellent services, artistry, and professionalism.

I highly recommend brides having a trial/run through with Margie prior to the wedding day. Margie was able to make specific suggestions and recommendations to amplify my desired look (eg, highlights and extensions). DO listen to her, she will not steer you wrong. In addition, because of the run-through, Margie was super prepared and in a flow with my hair on the wedding day.

I would also like to point out that the team is very skilled with hair and makeup for East Asian women. Meaning, they do not over-do it, which commonly happens with many Western MUA, and rather brings out the right features with subtlety and naturalness.

Margie and THB are flexible and amenable, communicate timely and concisely, and they manage expectations well. I cannot recommend them enough to someone looking for a high quality, all-inclusive, no-stress glam squad for their special day.

Incredible Beauty Team!

I can't thank Margie and her Truly Happy Beauty team enough for making me look and feel so beautiful on my wedding day! I never wear makeup or do my hair, so I was very nervous booking a beauty team, but Margie made me feel so comfortable at my bridal trial, I just knew it was the perfect fit. She gave me lots of guidance about my look and made the whole process really easy. Her team was professional and managed to get all of the women in my bridal party ready on time despite the power going out in our hotel suite! Everyone on the team stayed calm and carried on through the chaos. They managed all the different hairstyles and skin tones in my bridal party so well - everyone was really happy with their looks. My makeup and hair lasted all night (even with a hairpiece change), and I am so pleased with how I look in all of our photos - a more beautiful version of myself, which is exactly what I wanted. Don't think twice about booking this team! One of the best vendors we booked for our wedding.

Amazing Hair and Makeup Team!

Margie and her team at Truly Happy Beauty were beyond amazing, so attentive, professional and talented. Having a team who can provide beautiful hair and makeup made the day seamless and I never felt so beautiful! I did two trials with Margie and felt so comfortable as she definitely knew what I envisioned and helped recommend ways to enhance the "natural" look I wanted. This was during peak covid and she was very professional and flexible.
I cannot explain how happy I was with the day of hair and makeup. They did a wonderful job with a large bridal party (bride + 8 bridesmaids + 2 mothers + 3 flower girls). What I loved about their quality of service is they did not charge extra given the size of my bridal party but instead provided a quality team of stylists who were so talented. They were so detailed and flexible with each person which made the day very special. They were especially amazing with my three flower girls aged 4 to 8 and made them feel so special. I cannot thank Margie and her team for making the day so memorable and enhancing all of my bridal team's beauty.

Amazing work!

I had a large bridal party (9 people) and 3 moms and Margie and her team did amazing!
Before the wedding they were easy to get in touch with, communicated prices and day of expectations clearly, and were flexible with our changing (covid related) date.
The day of the wedding they showed up early and had communicated with the venue what they would need in advance. They were extremely professional and matched all the pictures of makeup and hairstyles my bridal party showed them flawlessly. If I were to go back and do my wedding over, this is one of the first vendors I would re-book immediately!

Margie was awesome helping to schedule and accommodate for my big day, and Lucy my stylist was incredible!!! Even when I asked to alter the style slightly on the day she did so without hesitation and it came out like a dream!! My bridesmaids’ stylist was also extremely talented and creative. Excellent Professional & Bride Advocate

I met with Margie once and she was able to execute my vision for hair within a few hours. I didn't know much about makeup and wanted a simple look which turned out wonderfully. On my wedding day, she and her assistant were able to do my 3 bridesmaids and my mother's hair and makeup quickly and beautifully. My hair and makeup came out excellent, even better than during the trail. Margie was so professional and was a total Bride Advocate. As I was getting my hair done, there were many people asking for me and I was starting to feel overwhelmed, Margie advocated for me to get some alone time to relax and just focus on myself. This really helped me calm down and really focus on the happiness of my day. I really appreciated that she was looking out for me, not just for my hair and makeup, but for my emotional wellbeing too. I could not have imagined my special day without her there.

Fantastic Experience! Highly Recommend!

Margie, Jade, and the entire TrulyHappyBeauty team made me feel like a princess on my Wedding day. I have never felt more beautiful. They listened to my vision and executed on everything perfectly. I looked like the best version of myself. More importantly, they were able to adapt to the different style and looks of my bridesmaids. I had a multiracial bridal party (Asian, Black, Middle Eastern) and everyone was thrilled with the hair and makeup. On the day, they created such a relaxed and warm atmosphere in the bridal suite. We had the most fun!

Hair and Make-up - highly recommend!

I used THB for my wedding this past weekend and could not recommend them more. Margie arrived on time (early!) and did a fabulous job. My mom, aunt, and MIL wanted light natural-looking makeup applications and Margie was able to deliver exactly what they were seeking. Her team did an equally awesome job on everyone's hair. Exactly what I hoped for

I loved working with Jacqueline at Truly Happy Beauty. She was very thorough in our trial down to the last curl, and tried multiple styles. She was so refreshing to work with because she was patient, kind, and very responsive to feedback or changes I wanted to make. She was very calming on the wedding day itself too. I had my hair down and curled with clip in extensions, she did lashes, and airbrush make-up with contouring. So pleased with how it all turned out, I have never felt more beautiful!

My good friend recommended Truly Happy Beauty to me almost the minute she found out I was engaged. Margie is an old friend of hers, and I figured having that connection might be nice. I was definitely not steered in the wrong direction. Margie and team are friendly, kind, very skilled, and professional. There were 5 of us getting hair and makeup done, and we all looked stunning. The makeup style is also not over-the-top, which I definitely prefer - it's more about amping up your natural beauty. My Wedding Beauty Services

I found about Truly Happy Beauty services on instagram from my best friend who had her makeup and hair done by Margie on her wedding day few years ago. I booked a trial for my wedding, Margie did a great job styling my hair and doing my makeup, but I decided to change my look a bit for my wedding day and I was worried I wouldn't get the best bridal glam look I was looking for. Margie & her team exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond to make me look fabulous on my day, following what I asked for. She's very punctual, responsible and takes her job very seriously. Margie is very professional and is very talented. She gave me a very good wedding makeup and hairstyling package for me and my husband. Wedding Day Hair and Make Up was PERFECT

Margie made me look and feel like a GODDESS! She is so sweet and accommodating, from our first communication through the trial and wedding day, she was very easy to work with. She was flexible with my wedding party and her and her team were able to adjust when the hotel did not come through with the proper equipment on the day of, which could have been a disaster.

She helped me to conceptualize what I was looking for during the trail from my very diverse pinterest page and was supportive of all of my "brainstorming" emails between the trial and the wedding day. On my wedding day, I would not have changed a single thing regarding my hair and make up! She is a true professional and I would recommend her and her team to any bride I know!

Margie and her team are amazing!

Margie and her team were absolutely amazing for my Dec. 7 wedding, I just had to leave a review as soon as possible. From my trial, Margie totally understood that I wanted to look as natural as possible, and I felt so at ease with her. On my wedding day, she actually completely blew me away, my final look was even more amazing than I expected (and hair and makeup stayed completely intact from 2 pm, through first looks out in the 20-degree weather to the dance floor to my after-party until 3 am). My now-husband KEPT saying how beautiful and natural I looked, and that was all thanks to Margie.

Her team also handled my five bridesmaids and two mothers so, so well--forever grateful to them for their patience, kindness, and incredible skill.

Loved working with Margie

Margie worked magic for my make up and hair. I really struggled to find the right person for my wedding in NJ since I don't normally wear make up and don't love putting much attention on beauty care. I did a make up trial with someone else which made me feel old and blah. A friend recommended Margie and she turned this all around. She put together make up for me that made me feel beautiful again in a natural way. She also can work magic with hair (didn't realize someone could actually know how to do BOTH.) She took my curls and transformed them into a lovely wedding style that included flowers pinned to my hair. I could not have been happier. I highly recommend hiring Margie!

A super choice for my wedding!

Margie and her team were amazing! She did a fantastic job on my hair and makeup for my wedding. LOVED Margie and the THB Team!!

I had SUCH an great experience with Margie and the Truly Happy Beauty team on my wedding day! They arrived at our venue early, got the room all set up for me and my 6 bridesmaids, and were ready to go right on time. Throughout the day, they were so fun, energetic, and incredibly accommodating to each of my bridesmaids. They spent time making sure each bridesmaid (as well as my mom) looked exactly how we had envisioned, and at the end of the day, everyone's hair and make up looked BEYOND beautiful. Every girl had a similar look with a slightly individualized flare and they all loved their hair and make up styles. I had seen Margie for 2 pre-wedding hair & makeup trials and she was so warm and helpful during each one. Even though I could hardly describe the look I was going for at the time... she figured out exactly what I wanted and on my wedding day, I looked more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Perfect for the whole family!

I cannot thank Margie enough for being part of my wedding day! I was looking for a natural yet "glam" look for myself and she delivered exactly that! But most importantly, everything was easy going, comfortable, and fun! She was key in keeping me and my girls relaxed throughout the whole process and each of us came out beautiful, highlighting our own special features. I wish I could look and feel as beautiful as I did on my wedding day again - thank you Margie!!

The. Best. Team. Hands. Down.

I got married on 8.25.2019. Margie was a dream to work with from the start. She was very attentive to my wants and needs during the trial process (always always ALWAYS have a trial done with your hair and make up people). I had myself, 5 bridesmaids and a Mob & Mog wanting hair and make up services. Margie brought 2 other women: 1 for hair and 1 for make up. She also created a schedule with a table that included slots to show which bridesmaid goes at which time. AMAZING! Margie and her team were so fast they ended up finishing hair and make up a little early! Plus, Margie and her team made the whole experience fun! It wasn’t stressful by any means. I couldn’t have asked for a better hair and make up team. We were all very pleased with how hair and make up turned out. It lasted all day and night through the sweating and dancing. Thank you, Margie!

we were truly happy !

Margie and her team did a great job on the hair and makeup for our daughter, and her bridesmaids (and the mother of the bride) for her 9/1/19 wedding. This team knows how to bring out the natural beauty of these young women without overdoing the makeup. They were professional, ran on time and everyone was very happy with their results. We are happy to recommend this team !

10/10 wedding hair

I got married on 8/17 at the Mandarin Oriental. Margie did my trial and also did my hair on my wedding day. She was so friendly and easy to work with. She was happy to try new styles and play around with my hair during my trial. She was always responsive to emails and flexible with timing on my wedding day, as we were still working on our timeline a few weeks before the wedding. On my wedding day, my hair came out absolutely perfect. She worked quickly and calmly and she helped me stay stress free while we were getting ready. It was truly a pleasure to work with her and I highly recommend her!

I can't recommend Truly Happy Beauty highly enough!

I can't recommend Margie highly enough! She was an absolute blessing to work with. Our wedding included a Vietnamese Tea Ceremony, a Chinese Gate-Crashing ceremony, a Chinese Tea Ceremony, a traditional western ceremony, and a reception. For each of these events, Margie worked with me to create unique hair and make-up looks that made me feel confident and beautiful throughout the day. Margie is an incredible artist and has a talent for understanding exactly what I envisioned for each look, making my dream hair and make-up into a reality. Her team created incredible natural looks for my bridesmaids that lasted for the entire day, despite the hot NYC summer weather. My mother, mother-in-law, and a few of my bridesmaids had never had their hair or make-up done before, but the Truly Happy Beauty team was thoughtful and patient; all of my bridal party were so impressed with their work. My bridesmaids looked, and more importantly, felt amazing! Margie went above and beyond at every stage of our wedding planning process. She was easy to get in touch with, an absolute professional, and an all-around joy to be around. On the day of the wedding, she helped me stay calm and stress-free throughout the day because I knew I was in good hands. Beyond this, she was by my side right up until I walked down the aisle, even helping me hold my train. Working with Margie was one of the best decisions I made for the wedding. The most perfect hair and makeup we have ever had!

Margie did my trial and wedding day hair and makeup. I also hired her team (Margie came to our hotel suite) with 4 additional hair and makeup stylists to do 13 people's hair and makeup on my wedding day morning. She and her team are phenomenal! All my girls raved about how their hair and makeup never looked better and mine was flawless! The individual eyelashes gave us the natural beauty we were going for and the airbrush makeup withstood the 100 °F heat we had on my wedding day. Margie is also truly an entrepeneur. She is extremely organized and her pre-wedding day schedule and prep list she gave me for my girls, the hotel, how to set-up and clean up the suite made our busy morning go so smoothly. Also, I am so appreciative that my mom loved her hair and makeup. She had not had it done since her own wedding and was very nervous about it, worrying that it would not look natural or that she would hate it. She loved it and looked absolutely gorgeous. Margie also gave us life long tips that we can use to reduce our undereye puffiness: cold black tea bags under the eyes or buying an amathist roller. I will use those in the future. Thank you for making me gorgeous on my wedding day. I will be forever grateful to Margie and her team. Some of my bridesmaids asked for the team's contact info for their own weddings. I hope you choose them too. You will love it for sure!

Great experience for my NYC wedding

Working with Margie was a wonderful experience. She and her team did hair for me and my 5 bridesmaids. Going into my hair trial, I didn't have a ton of strong opinions on what I wanted and Margie really helped me figure out what looked good. She also gave me some recommendations on where to get reasonably priced hair pieces. I loved my hair on my wedding day as did all of my girls. Plus, at my getting ready, my mother had a complete tantrum in the room which kind of derailed the party - Margie was so sweet in that moment, reassuring me that these things happen all the time and to not worry about it. Thank you so much Margie!!

Highly recommended: hair and makeup

Lucie did my (bride's) hair and makeup, as well as my mother's. She planned out the morning perfectly, even accounting for a late start on my part. I wanted to look and feel as much like myself as possible, and with her help, I did! I felt like I looked great all night. The airbrushing looked great with some blending, and I especially loved the way she did my eyes and updo. Very happy with her work.

Great Experience!

Lucie is very talented and did a wonderful job on my hair and makeup! She worked hard to get my hair style just perfect. For an up-do it felt very comfortable all night and stayed in perfectly the entire evening. My wedding party had make up done by Lucie and they all loved it!

Wonderful Experience and Gorgeous Outcome!

Working with Margie and her team was absolutely fantastic! Margie did my best friends wedding a few years ago, and I knew I wanted to work with her and her team when it came time to plan my wedding. Margie's team was so sweet and accommodating and made everyone look absolutely STUNNING! Every single person who got their hair & makeup done by them in my party was so happy with how their look came out. As the bride, I was beyond happy. Margie is phenomenal! I couldn't be happier with the look she helped me create for my wedding and I am so grateful to have had her by my side! She is super responsive, professional, and helped calm my nerves on the day of. She was so wonderful when I was running a little behind and still spent the time to make sure my look was perfect before she left. Both my hair and makeup were flawless even after several hours of dancing! I didn't even need to touch it up. My hair held all night and I was super comfortable without feeling all of the bobbie pins. I received so many compliments, and am so thankful for Margie's hard work to make it happen! The best!

I was married in late October 2018 on a rainy and windy Brooklyn, NY day. Naturally, I was worried my wedding day glam look wouldn't last the day. I have sensitive/oily skin and super fine straight hair. Not only did my makeup and curls last the entire day and evening through all the hugging, kissing, and dancing- but it lasted perfectly through the photos my husband and I took on the roof deck of our hotel (yes- in the rain and wind!) If you haven't hired Margie of Truly Happy Beauty...you better quickly! I haven't stopped raving to friends and family since the wedding about Margie and her assistant artist, Lucy! The both of them did an absolutely perfect job with myself, my mother, sister, and 2 bridesmaids. My glam look held up so well that you would have never noticed I stepped foot outdoors on that rainy day! I didn’t need a single touch up all night & I partied and danced until late that evening. Amazing team!

I am a wedding hairstylists worst nightmare: I have thin, fine, straight hair and I wanted it half down and curled for my wedding, but Margie and her team did an amazing job. When I went in for my trial she soothed my anxieties right away. She tried my hair 3 different ways and took tons of photos of each from every angle so I could decide later for myself. It was an easy choice - the last style she did, and the one she recommended most for me, was clearly the best. Over the next few months she helped me find extensions that would work for me and my style, advised me on how to guide my bridesmaids into choosing styles, helped me figure out how design my veil, assisted me on scheduling the day, and answered any questions I had immediately. She recreated the look from my trial perfectly for my wedding, it was comfortable, secure, and it lasted throughout the night - which is a truly incredible feat with my hair texture. My wedding day was a bit rainy and my hair didn't frizz or go limp at all, is stayed shiny, smooth and bouncy to the end, even though our very twirly choreographed dance, which had two dips in it, not single hair was out of place. The extensions didn't feel heavy at all and they blended in perfectly with my hair, adding in just a touch of volume that had been lost by the half up look.

She and her team also handled my bridesmaids hair perfectly! I had a very diverse group of ladies, with a huge range of hair textures, lengths, weights and colors, all of them wanted different styles and all of them up-dos. Each woman's hair looked unique and perfectly suited to her, my maid of honor has short hair and had requested a high bun, which did start to come apart by the time dancing rolled around, but she remarked on how light and comfortable it felt throughout the evening. No one had a fried, over teased, hair-sprayed look. Everyones hair looked naturally polished and beautiful.

Thank you so much Margie for making us all look glamorous!

Margie is the BEST! I knew how I wanted my hair but had a hard time explaining it. Margie was so patient and worked with me until we found exactly what I wanted. She was warm and open and my bridesmaids and I had such a good time getting ready with Margie and her team. Margie is beyond incredible and I’m so thankful she was there on my wedding day! I left booking a beauty vendor until quite late in the planning proces. In the end I was so lucky to find Truly Happy Beauty especially since I was planning my wedding from Europe and my trial was only a few days before my actual wedding. Margie is such a professional, she’s excellent at responding to emails, as well as great at time keeping. She has a great eye, amazing talent, a calming presence not to mention so much positivity which is needed on the day! Despite already having a long day and early start the next morning, she worked until quite late for our trial to perfect the bridal look. Her approach to trials is great, she starts with the basics and builds up looks from your inspiration while taking photos at significant stages. It helps to get you comfortable, you can see if you want to add a bit more or if it feels like too much then the previous look works as a cut-off point.

On the day, she went above and beyond her job – after finishing my look, she started helping out with finishing our favour tags as we were running behind schedule and she’d already worked another wedding before ours. My hair and makeup were even more beautiful than the trial. She’d created something much more elegant and romantic but also very true to my personality. Both the hair and makeup were flawless even several hours after the wedding finished and with no touch ups! The makeup felt super light and natural, as did my hair which normally doesn’t hold any style for that long. I received so many compliments, my husband thought I looked beautiful and I felt great!

Margie embodies her company’s name perfectly, she’s lovely, hardworking, professional and will strive to make you feel amazing on your wedding day. You won’t be disappointed if you use Truly Happy Beauty.

Margie was amazingly professional with great attention to every detail! I've been part of many weddings, and she is by far the best stylist I've ever worked with. Because of her sweet and calming energy, she created a peaceful atmosphere and was very patient with the bride to make sure that she was taken care of on her special day. I feel so lucky to have worked with Margie. I put off researching a stylist for my wedding for a long time, and it was for a few reasons: 1. I was totally clueless about the process; 2. I don't wear makeup, and I'm very fearful about anything being applied near my eyes (I flinch like crazy and my eyes water uncontrollably); 3. I had a very non-traditional idea for hair for myself and my bridesmaids (we all chose styles that were inspired by our favorite sci-fi/fantasy heroines). I was nervous about finding a stylist who would be willing to work with my quirky hair idea and would also be understanding of my fears about makeup application. When I met with Margie for my trial, she got genuinely excited when I told her my hair concept, and she worked slowly and carefully when applying my makeup, adjusting her methods in order to make me feel completely at ease. I loved how natural and beautiful I looked when she was done! On the wedding day, she and her fellow stylist arrived promptly to our hotel, worked hard to keep us all on schedule, and were enthusiastic and cheerful the entire time. Margie even remembered that my sister and I were Star Wars fans, so she surprised us with adorable little Star Wars pouches for us to use for our touch up kits. So thoughtful!! Our hair and makeup lasted the entire day. I felt so confident, and I received tons of compliments about how naturally radiant I looked. I highly recommend Truly Happy Beauty, and would book Margie again in a heartbeat.

Margie and her team were absolutely incredible!
We had 1 Trial together -- played around with different looks, not rushed and felt really comfortable leaving the trial.

The day of was perfection. They were on-time (i think even early), kept everyone on schedule (built in extra time), the makeup was flawless!

Makeup lasted all night - bride, bridesmaids, mothers and sisters!

Everyone was so happy! I would recommend Margie to anyone I know!

Margie and her team were great! After reviewing other people's work whose style just didn't work for me, I found her on instagram and booked a trial. Right after the trial I cut my hair and was a little worried about whether it was too short, and Margie was great at communicating with me about it and making sure I was comfortable - although I ended up not having another trial she was super great about it and answered all my repetitive questions. Day of her team was great. They showed up on time, did me, my five bridesmaids mother and stepmother and everyone looked absolutely stunning. Highly recommend!

I would recommend Margie and her team to everyone. They were incredible. Margie was always very response, warm and professional over email. I had two trials with her where she patiently tried out different hair styles and make up looks. I don’t wear a lot of makeup usually, so I wanted a natural look for my wedding day. Margie listened and made me feel beautiful and most importantly like myself. She and her team were prepared and stayed on time on the big day through 11 people’s hair and makeup. They were also just lovely people, so fun to get ready with and great company. Her team is so talented – they listened to each person and were able to accommodate different preferences and styles. Everyone left looking glowing and happy.

Margie was truly professional from her initial response time until she left my house. She was punctual and patient. Margie was way more than just hair and makeup! We had a small destination wedding and by the end of the day I really considered her hair, makeup AND wedding coordinator. At one point she even steamed my dress! While I absolutely loved my hair and makeup (which was a fete of its own because I have long, thick, curly hair and the weather was windy and humid) Margie was an amazing asset to have with us.

Margie and her team were AMAZING! I had 10 bridesmaids, 1 junior bridesmaid, 2 mothers and 1 grandmother who all need hair/makeup or both on the day of my wedding. The team showed up exactly on time, listened to each girl's needs and everyone turned out beautifully. Margie even left enough time in the schedule for touch-ups for everyone and any adjustments to hair and makeup that might be needed. I was especially impressed when working with Margie. As the bride, you're always a bit nervous ahead of time, but Margie worked swiftly and calmly to give me my dream hair and makeup for my wedding. She listened to my needs, asked questions throughout the process and I never felt rushed or anxious. Even my wedding guests were raving about my hair and makeup!
Leading up to the wedding, Margie was also amazing. She answered emails in record time, gave me direction for the day of and created a schedule and list of items she would need to make the day run smoothly -- which it did. Margie and her team are great. Margie exceeded my expectations. She was very nice and professional since the beginning. I showed her a lot of pictures of hairstyles I liked however due to the thickness and length of my hair, none looked as nice on me. Margie was sooo patient during the trial. She designed a beautiful updo for me!!! So basically my own unique updo!! I was soooo happy. Everyone at my wedding complimented it. The make up was also so beautiful. I asked her for a natural look and yes, Margie did great. I had an early wedding- Margie showed up at the time we agreed. Not one minute late. I would recommend Margie 100%. Margie's work is INCREDIBLE! The make-up and hair on the day of were absolutely perfect. During our trial, she really took the time and care to understand exactly what I wanted and then day of she nailed it perfectly! Thank you, Margie!

Margie was amazing! She made me feel and look beautiful the day of my wedding. The day of the trial, there were technical mishaps that were completely out of anyone's control but she was able to complete the trial flawlessly without breaking a sweat! She was super accommodating to us the morning of the wedding and made our day go so much smoother, making it a much more stress free morning! Coordinating/organizing all the details with her was super easy, she was also extremely friendly and great to chat with during the whole session. I would highly recommend her!

Margie and Truly Happy Beauty truly made my wedding extra special! My overall experience with Margie, from booking, to hair and makeup trial, all the way to the day of the wedding was phenomenal. Margie is super sweet, attentive, experienced, creative, and maintains a high level of professionalism. She was so calming and helpful on the day of the wedding and I could not have asked for a better person or makeup artist to be there for us. The hair and makeup was beyond perfect and I didn't want to remove it or take apart my updo at the end of the night! I will forever be grateful to Margie for being with us on such an important day and for going above and beyond to make sure we were happy and we'll taken care of! I wholeheartedly recommend Margie and her team. Thank you!!!
