Nicole was SUCH an asset to my wedding day -- from her smooth communication, to her vast knowledge of different photography (and Super 8) styles. I cannot recommend Nicole and her whole team enough. Her personality is calm, cool, and casual, while still holding herself to the utmost level of professionalism. She is extremely communicative and will keep you updated throughout the entire process. She knew what I wanted before I even expressed my wishes. I know my wedding experience would not be the same without her. Amazing Photography, helpful,genuine and kind
From the moment we came across Nicoles photography we knew we wanted to have her as our photographer for our engagement photos and our elopement.Her photography is amazing but also, her attention to detail and support went a BEYOND what we expected. She sent us helpful guides for planning our elopement, was very communicative through the whole process and most importantly genuinely supported what we wanted for our special day and took the time to understand what that was. We felt like we had a friend with us all day! We enjoyed her company and she made us feel so comfortable.
Nicole was very adamant that these photos should show who we are as a couple and should feel natural and unposed and that is exactly what we received. We are so happy with our photos and our experience with Nicole. We are looking forward to hanging our photos around our home, sharing them with friends and cherishing them for a lifetime! Nicole was amazing to work with, and our day truly would not have been the same without her.
Our elopement was in Yosemite National Park which experienced flooding during our time there, which meant our plan A and plan B were not going to work for our ceremony and photos. Nicole arrived in California and went straight to the park to find us an alternative location that would be just a beautiful. The place she found was a hidden gem and made for my favorite part of the day, and some of our very favorite photos!
I decided to meet with Nicole initially because her galleries made me feel like I was in the location with them, and when we received our finished gallery we definitely were able to relive the day.

Nicole was our elopement photographer and officiant for our special day in October 2022. Mother Nature didn't want us to get married on the mountain that morning. It was 20 degrees with 60 mile wind gusts so we went with plan B and got married in the backyard of the house we were renting. Nicole used her creative magic to make our day look beautiful and special. Her photography skills are top notch and it literally saved the day to have pictures of our special day turn out so amazing despite the weather! I am really impressed with her abilities. She was professional and engaging the entire time. I printed some pictures I was inspired by so we could re-create them and she was so great at posing us. She didn't miss a beat! She consulted with me on Zoom and helped me come up with a script and things to think about since I had never done this before. It was a true pleasure working with such a professional artist. I highly recommend her for any elopement wedding!Map + Compass Photography's reply:

The perfect photographer for our wedding!
Nicole was our photographer for our wedding in July 2022 and we could not be more pleased with our photos and experience. We first met Nicole over zoom to discuss our vision and we were quickly impressed by how organized and professional she was. Fast forward to our wedding day, she was so laid back and really cared that we got all the shots we had planned on. Our wedding was running a little being schedule and Nicole happily stayed longer and we were able to pay for an extra hour to ensure she could take photos of everyone dancing at the reception. It was truly the best experience. She helped with ALL the planning and it was such a relaxed day.
Nicole is truly a gem and goes out of her way to make sure your day is perfect! We had originally planned on eloping in Colorado, but the weather conditions were not looking too good in May and a month before our elopement Nicole helped completely shift where we were going. She made it as stress free as possible and sent us multiple different spots to choose from in Utah. The day was very relaxed and she went along with whatever we wanted to do. I can’t say enough about Nicole and I couldn’t recommend her enough!! Her work speaks for itself!!🖤🖤Map + Compass Photography's reply:

Amazing and highly recommended!
Nicole was an absolute joy to work with. We had a vision for our intimate desert wedding and Nicole was patient and understanding through our various changes and suggestions. She was always available; guiding us and encouraging us. Our wedding turned out to be more than we ever dreamed of. It was simple, authentic, and full of love, and somehow Nicole captured every emotion and genuine moment of the day. Nicole has an amazing ability to work her magic around us without taking from the intimacy and vulnerability of the moment. We felt comfortable enough to be ourselves and to be present in every moment and every feeling. Choosing Nicole to capture our special day was the best gift we could have given ourselves! Nicole made our wedding day an unforgettable experience. She was able to guide us every step of the way and provide her expertise while giving us the freedom to "choose our own journey". She was patient and flexible with us especially when we fell slightly schedule, but in a way it turned out for the best and she helped us see that. During the whole experience it felt like she was always willing to go the extra mile to help. Lastly, my wife and I just love her editing styles. The sharpness and colors of the photos jump out at you and always stand out and distinguish her style from others. Nicole is a tremendously talented photographer and a gem of a person. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience working with her. From our first consultation, I knew we had found a great photographer for our wedding. She took the time to get to know us and find out our priorities. Like so many others, we had to change our wedding plans multiple times due to COVID, and she helped this exhausted bride think through the details of our wedding day and scouted amazing locations for portraits that I would have never thought of. Nicole is the absolute best
Nicole is an incredible person with an amazing gift in photography. We initially chose Nicole because of the quality and timelessness of her photographs, but after our FaceTime conversations and wedding experience with her, we knew she was the perfect photographer for us. She made our day go so smoothly because of her organizational skills and calm presence. Nicole was invested into our story and did such an amazing job capturing the intimate, pure, and candid moments throughout our day.
During our time getting to know each other, we realized that Nicole was not just going to be our photographer, but she would become a lifelong friend. Nicole is such a talented photographer and overall just a lovely person! We had an indoor wedding but Nicole scoped out some outdoor locations around the venue for our group photos - they honestly look like pieces of art, they are so beautiful! She was so organized and captured everything we wanted throughout the day and night. We postponed our wedding and made some changes, and Nicole was super easy to work with which we really appreciated. Would highly recommend Nicole for your event! Nicole made our elopement a breeze. My husband and I had never visited the place we eloped and it was just us two making the trip, so it was essential that we had a photographer that could provide tips, tricks and advice. Nicole did just that and more! She arrived on time and stuck to a schedule the entire time we had her booked, which made me feel at ease with not missing any important shots as the sun set. Weeks before the ceremony, she provided a timeline as well as a check list and both helped tremendously. I can say I was not stressed one bit and it was entirely because of Nicole’s help! Nicole has the right personality for photography – she keeps you on schedule while making it seem fun, you can trust her with anything. She suggested different angles so that we looked our best for each shot, as well as provided instruction on how to relax and just be natural with each other. We highly enjoyed chatting with her as well, she is very personable and makes you feel at ease. Within 24 hours we received about 20 photos, which was particularly important because we used them to announce to the world our elopement! We received the rest of the pictures exactly 1 month after our ceremony and I cried reliving the day through her beautiful images. 10/10 – we will never forget everything she’s done to ensure our memories were captured on one of our most cherished days.Map + Compass Photography's reply:

Not seeing a lot of reviews from Grooms on here, so I wanted to chime in. As a guy who tinkers around with cameras and creates stuff in my own time, there are a few things I wanted to say about Nicole and what she has created with Map + Compass.
Buckle up, family.
I imagine that every couple that elopes or plans their wedding out in West Texas or some other remote location does so because they are dreaming of a unique experience that they and their families will cherish forever. Those of us that end up running with this idea are so incredibly lucky that Map + Compass exists. Nicole not only glides into your life, coming alongside you to help visualize and plan your wedding from the jump -- she then has the audacity to show up PERFECTLY on time on your big day, fill in all of the gaps, make sure everything moves along smoothly (at the exact right time), only to go on and capture the best day of your lives with such genuine artistry, care, and grace. Nicole isn't just an amazing person to work with -- she is an incredible photographer and creative with a keen eye that allowed her to ruthlessly blow out every single expectation we had for our wedding photos (and she sets them high from day 1).
We booked an adventure shoot with Nicole the day after our 3-day wedding weekend in Terlingua. Both exhausted and excited, we crawled into Nicole's car at 11am to kick off the most epic day of shooting. While we only had her booked for 3 hours, Nicole graciously spent a handful of extra hours with us, exploring and getting other-worldly shots we could never have imagined, using her deep knowledge of the park and landscape for our benefit. We knew we would have a great time, but I can say with complete honesty and gratitude that our day with Nicole was one of the most memorable parts of our weekend -- and it was a HELL of a weekend.
We are generally pretty comfortable people in front of the camera, but this was our first time doing a shoot together as couple. We forgot that about 5 minutes in, as I imagine Nicole could make even the most awkward, emotionless couple feel like working models through her natural style and direction. Look I'll just say it: Nicole will make you feel and look like the hot piece of ass you never even knew you were. You can quote me on that.
Topping it all off, we received our sample images within a week, and the full gallery about a month later -- ahead of schedule. What more could you ask for? Nicole is so intentional, undeniably skilled, and professional in everything she does for her clients, and still manages to be so genuinely fun to work with. This is what likely sets her apart from other shooters in the space. Nicole just feels like a friend. There were multiple moments from the weekend where I couldn't remember if she was our old friend from back home, or our badass wedding photographer we had met only a few months prior. By the end of your weekend, I'd be willing to bet that you and your spouse will consider her both.Map + Compass Photography's reply:
