Incredible food and service

We loved our experience with Mama’s Boy Catering. Unfortunately, due to COVID, we had to cancel our wedding and our catering plan. However, Mama’s Boy was incredibly kind and accommodating through the entire process. We worked directly with Cooper and Sheila, and they were both amazing. They were the most understanding vendor we worked with during our cancellation, and we will be customers for life. We did get to try their catering food at a tasting, and it is amazing -- you have to try their peach cobbler, strawberry lemonade, and poppyseed butter on biscuits. Our favorites, and perfect for a southern home cooked catering meal!

Great food, great people, great experience!

If you're looking for great food and great people to work with, look no further than Mama's Boy! We have loved going to Mama's Boy for breakfast and lunch for years, and it was so great to have them cater our wedding! They have such a wide variety of menus to choose from and are more than willing to help make any adjustments you would like. Cooper and Kyrie are the best! They helped make our catering process so easy--they were responsive and very honest. They really helped me find ways to cut down on our catering bill without compromising the quality of the food and service. They took care of us so well--our guests still talk about how great the food was!

Amazing food

Mamas boy was amazing! The food was so good and the staff was very professional! They even made sure that the bride and groom for sure got to eat! It was perfect! Everyone at the wedding asked us exactly who and where they are located to use in the future!

Amazing!

We could not have asked for a better caterer/bartenders for our wedding! Mama's Boy goes totally above and beyond for their clients and we couldn't be more thankful. Food and beverages were amazing! Clean, presentable setup, delicious food served HOT and awesome staff!!! Would recommend Mama's Boy to everyone I know for events!!!

Perfect Rehearsal Dinner

Cooper and Shiela were lovely to work with. We worked with them for the rehearsal dinner, but would have loved them for the actual wedding. The food was INCREDIBLE, the service was easy and delicious. I'm a huge fan. We're still enjoying the left over honey poppyseed butter and special jam!

Amazing!

We are just so ecstatic that our wedding night turned out so amazing. Cooper and Sheila really made sure that we were taken care of and we couldn't have truly asked for better service. We were fortunate enough to have them cater both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding reception. Everyone was very pleased with the quality of the food. We were also allowed to give Cooper specific family recipes that we wanted, and she made it happen! End of story- best wedding ever! From the quality of the food, service, dedication to their jobs, all around- amazing!

Cooper was a dream to work with as we planned our daughters wedding. The food was delicious. The mamas boy service at the reception was outstanding. They were extremely organized, and set the tables beautifully. They had a high number of staff. There was never a wait at the 2 bars. One thing that was important to me was to get the 200 guests through the buffet quickly so we could eat and get the dancing started. Cooper set up 2 identical buffets that were accessible from both sides of each table, so essentially 4 lines and it went so quickly.
It couldn't have been better. Thank you so much

This is my favorite restaurant for brunch in Athens, but I had no idea their dinner food was so good! Cooper and Shiela were amazing helping me along the journey. Their steak was the most tender, melt in your mouth I have ever eaten. The shrimp and grits were glorious! A little kick with the sauce and I was perfect! And let's not forget those biscuits!!

I absolutely recommend Mama's boy to any bride. I have worked in the wedding industry for over 8 years so when it came time to plan my own wedding I was able to quickly choose all my vendors based on the service I've witnessed over the many years in the industry. Mama's boy was on my radar immediately and they did not disappoint. I worked with Cooper to customize a modern southern menu including an heirloom tomato carving station which they had never done before. I had some specific requests on how to display and serve the food that was not how they normally do it. Cooper welcomed the challenge with excitement and executed it flawlessly. My guest still rave about the food (even a year later!) The service staff is professional and fun and the amount and quality of food you get is far superior to any caterer in the area. The biscuits are to DIE FOR! If you are getting married remotely close to Athens, book with Mama's boy immediately! You will not regret it!

Cooper and Josh were an absolute DREAM TEAM for our wedding this past June! From the first time we contacted Mama's Boy, Cooper was extremely timely and gracious with her responses and got us a sample menu based on our ideas almost immediately. Their prices are VERY reasonable and with the high quality of the food and service, I would say they were the best caterer we could possibly find -- and we looked at numerous "higher-end" caterers in both Atlanta and Athens. The food was positively wonderful, and we are still getting compliments 6 months later on how much everybody loved everything. (We had a traditional Southern menu with fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, shrimp and grits [to die for!], and a seasonal salad.) My husband is half Iranian, and Mama's Boy was even able to include a traditional Persian dish in our menu!

When Josh did the walk-through with us, it was very clear that he was extremely detail-oriented, organized, and dedicated to getting our vision of the day just right. Although I came into the walk-through with typical pre-wedding nerves, I walked away relaxed, knowing that Josh and his team would take care of all of our catering needs.

Josh and Cooper were always available to discuss any concern or issue that I had about the wedding day, and they made the entire process so much smoother and stress-free. Since they are familiar with so many venues in Athens, they also worked with our reception venue to make sure every small detail went off without a hitch...they were almost like having a second coordinator. They are SO great. If they are available for your day (they sometimes book up months in advance), I would not hesitate to recommend them for ANY event you are hosting! Seriously, best decision we made, bar none.

We initially chose Mama's Boy because it was on the venue's preferred list...and now we know why! The service they provided from day 1 of consultation was phenomenal! Even balancing many events all the time, Cooper was always extremely responsive. They brought a classy twist to southern food for our out of town family that we were looking for, not to mention amazing service from set-up all the way through the reception. And the food was of course DELICIOUS! I would recommend anyone to use Mama's Boy for their wedding or other event!

Mama's Boy was a dream to have cater my daughter's wedding! Cooper was so wonderful to work with! She is so knowledgable, dependable, positive , and such a calming presence! The food was excellent and the crew was so efficient! We had so many compliments on the food and everyone noticed the efficiency and friendliness of the staff! They came highly recommended and they didn't disappoint. I didn't have to worry about a thing once we were in their capable hands!!

I had a great experience with Mama’s Boy as the caterer for my wedding. The food was delicious, everyone was extremely professional and they executed seamlessly the day-of. Cooper was great to work with during the whole process! It could not have gone any better!

Working with Mama's Boy & Cooper will be the best wedding decision you make (and the most delicious.) I would recommend these guys over everyone in Athens & surrounding areas and that is coming from a girl that debated between an Atlanta, Athens or Mountain wedding and contacted a LOT of other caterers. Cooper is not only down to earth, but she is ridiculously sweet and will make the planning process and decisions amazingly smooth. We are huge fans of Mama's Boy and enjoyed breakfast there more times than we can count during college, but had never had lunch/dinner selections and let's just say we weren't disappointed. The southern comfort food on our menu was so yummy and left all of our guests happy and with full bellies. Their staff was awesome on the big day and handled everything so professionally and with such grace. We can't rave about these guys enough! Book 'em y'all!

The. Best. We got so many compliments on our "Southern Fun" buffet at our wedding. The food was great, but beyond that, Cooper was amazing. She was more than a catering manager. She also handled our rentals, gave us a lot of advice, and was, in general, our wedding guru.

I can not say enough great things about Mama's Boy! The management is awesome - Cooper was a joy to work with! They went above and beyond typical catering service expectations. For example, my venue had tables and chairs, but we needed to use the chairs for the ceremony as well as reception, requiring a move from a side garden to backyard during cocktail hour. Mama's Boy not only handled all that set up, but Cooper also designed the table lay out at the reception for me!

Then there's the food --- AMAZING! I got numerous compliments that we had the "best wedding food I've ever had"! We had a typical southern meal: Shrimp & Grits, Fried Chicken, Mac & Cheese, Green Beans, Summer Grilled Veggies, Caprese Salad, cornbread, biscuits and delicious pimento cheese & bacon-wrapped dates during cocktail hour! EVERYTHING was incredible! The team was great and even made plates for my husband and I to eat during the cocktail hour before we joined the reception (because we wanted to ensure we actually got to try everything!). We provided alcohol, but Mama's Boy also handled our bartending services. Overall this was great -- my only half star reduction on professionalism is because we did have a bartender who was new, and poured extremely strong drinks. That said, everyone had a great time and we didn't have much alcohol leftover!

I HIGHLY recommend Mama's Boy / their new company name Goody Two Shoes! Affordable, awesome to work with, flexible and delicious!

They did a good job with our wedding, the price was a bit more than I had wanted to pay but it was defiantly worth it.
