Melissa did my makeup for my November wedding and I couldn't have been happier with the job she did. Not only did she do my makeup, she did all my bridesmaids, mother, and mother-in-law. She was very organized and got us all done in plenty of time to get ready at the venue. She was extremely friendly, welcoming, and I just can't say enough good things about Melissa and her team. She added so much joy to my big day and I'm so grateful that I was able to work with her. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a quality make-up job at a reasonable cost. Her adorable salon and collaboration with the hair salon next door made the experience fun and easy. -

I cannot thank Makeup by Melissa Franklin enough and specifically, Emily Carter, for doing the most stunning makeup for my wedding on November 30, 2019. The day started a bit rushed but as I sat down to get makeup done it was like peace filled their salon. I didn’t have to worry because they do a trial and I knew everything she was going to do on the day of. Emily has great style and excellent skill. I highly recommend this makeup artist for any big event, wedding or fancy party where exquisite makeup is a must! Thank you so much Melissa for your quick communication and for getting me in so quickly! -

Melissa was a great make up artist! I don’t normally wear a lot of make up and she made me feel beautiful and natural. She was great at talking through our options during my trial. My bridesmaids all loved their make up too! -

Melissa exceeded absolutely all expectations for my wedding makeup. As someone who doesn't wear more than basic foundation and eyeliner on a daily basis, she made me feel more beautiful than I ever have in my life. She knew exactly which shades looked best on me, and made my whole look come together. She even makes her own makeup, making it so much more natural for your face and skin! I cannot recommend her enough and only regret I don't live closer for her to do my makeup on all my special occasions! -

I wear her makeup every day and love all the products I have gotten from her and she is amazing at what she does, there’s no doubt about that. Cate Sent on 01/17/2018Makeup by Melissa Franklin helped to make my wedding day one of the most memorable. My husband and I chose to do a quick turnaround wedding because he was in the Navy, and Melissa jumped right in at the very last minute with zero judgments and zero worry. While I was internally freaking out that nothing was going to go to plan thanks to all the unknowns of marrying someone in the military, Melissa calmly walked me through my trial with a days notice and showed up ready to rock and roll on my wedding day only a handful of days after she heard my name over the phone! It was as if my sister, mom and I had known Melissa for years. She has a brilliant eye for colors and style; and a sense of humor for days!! My sister, mom and I try to get back to her for a girls day whenever we can!

Everyone looked stunning and I was beyond thrilled with how my bridal makeup turned out. My makeup lasted all night long – at the end of the night my bridesmaids kept telling me how perfect my makeup still looked! I was ultimately drawn to Melissa’s because my wedding venue was not conducive to getting ready and Melissa’s studio was the perfect place to takeover for the afternoon! Everything in her salon was absolutely perfect from having room to set up food/mimosas to letting us play our own music. You can’t go wrong with using Melissa’s for your bridal/wedding makeup… she works magic! Thank you so much, Melissa!!!

I never really wear a lot of makeup, but Melissa gave me a natural look with a WOW factor on my eyes and it was so perfect! Thank you for making my mom and I look so beautiful on my wedding day! -
Abby Sent on 01/18/2018Melissa did a great job on my makeup for my wedding! The makeup stayed on from noon until I took it off that night at 2am. She was very responsive to e-mails when setting up my trial and setting up makeup for the wedding day for my whole bridal party. She had an assistant that was fabulous the day of my wedding too.

-Location is in a cute boutique with lots of parking, large mirrors, lots of lights, and nice chairs
-Christina nailed the make up. I had a few suggestions and she listened and made adjustments. Make up was 5/5
Cons:
-It took me a month to be able to make an appointment. The communication through email was slow and I had to follow up a few times to get a response
-When I arrived to my scheduled appointment the shop was closed. I had to call Melissa (the owner) who called Christina to remind her of the appointment. Melissa had to come unlock the shop and we started the appointment 20 minutes late. I didn't really receive any sort of apology, they acted like nothing had happened.
-I scheduled hair and make up with Christina. As I said above, the make up was great, the hair not so much. I asked for waves and we agreed to make my curls tighter so that I could comb them out before my photos since they were in the evening. She was struggling with a curling iron so I grabbed my curling wand from my car and she used my wand. I also had to use my own heat protectant on my hair since she didn't spray any on. I'm not sure what would have happened if I didn't happen to have my curling wand with me. Christina seemed unprepared to do hair given that she didn't have all of her equipment and only had one hair clip to hold my hair as she curled sections of it. The hair ended up being a mess and I went home and had to fix as much of it as I could before my engagement photos. I didn't have much time to fix it though since the appointment started so late.
-I paid full price for hair and make up even though I had to call to remind them of my appointment, they arrived 20 minutes late, we used my own equipment for my hair, and my hair ended up being a mess.
In summary, Christina did a great job with my make up but I do not recommend her for hair. I get the impression hair is not something she normally does and I'm disappointed I paid so much money to be experimented on.
