My husband and I got married at Soundview Caterers on Saturday 4/20/24 and Erika Jansen did the makeup for our bridal party. Erika was AMAZING!! In all of our planning leading up to the event, Erika put me at ease. There were many changes that occurred throughout the past few months, and Erika worked with me through them all. She & her team took care of me, my bridesmaids and my mother, as well as my mother-in-law & gave us EXACTLY what we needed to feel extra beautiful for the special day. I also love how good she was with the children- offering them a “fairy-dusting” which they were very excited about :-)
It was nice being able to have all the space that is available in the Salon area at Viana Hotel and Spa - we had room for a lovely breakfast spread (complete with mimosas :-)) while comfortably getting our hair and makeup done, and enough of a seating area to comfortably wait/ rotate chairs for makeup and hair. Erika did her best to ensure that we stayed focused on task and try to keep with our schedule!
I must mention how Erika did go ABOVE and BEYOND anything that I could have asked or expected- I’m so happy that we added the option of touch-ups, where she would meet us at the wedding venue to make sure we all looked good before the ceremony- while we were out taking off-site photos before the ceremony, we realized that we had not taken the ceremony items with us! I got in touch with Erika & she arranged to grab all of the items from my friend back at the hotel & she arrived at the venue before we did- all set up to immediately touch up our makeup - & with all the ceremony items on hand.
We will be eternally grateful. Erika is a visionary, attentive to detail, passionate, well-prepared, and fiercely protective of your vision for your special day! I highly recommend the services provided by her & her team of hair and makeup artists at the Viana Hotel & Spa. -

Where do I begin? From the very start, Erika was amazing. Very easy to work with, always available whenever I needed her, very flexible and understanding even when I changed my mind last minute about the make up. My self and the bridal party looked absolutely stunning thanks to her and Eva (the hair stylist). I love Erika. She was very energetic and funny even though we had to start at 5am. We stayed at Viana Hotel & Spa and it was very convenient to get ready there. Everything was absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much. ❤ -

Erika is a TRUE ARTIST! Erika provided the makeup for my wedding on October 9, 2021, for myself and my bridesmaids. Erika was such a pleasure to work with and really listened and understood the looks that we were all going for. Everyone in the bridal party looked STUNNING and she was such a pleasure to be around and spend the morning with during our getting ready process. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Erika for makeup styling for any events!! -

If you’re looking for the BEST of the BEST for wedding/event makeup, look no further than Erika. I was planning my wedding remotely, living in Florida with my venue on Long Island. Covid mixed with the difficulties of not knowing the area made planning extra difficult. After hours upon hours of searching online (Google, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.) for a makeup artist for my wedding, I decided to reach out to the hotel we booked in Woodbury, New York (The Viana Hotel and Spa) for a referral. They put me in touch with Erika and for this I’m so lucky. The second I spoke to her and looked at her work online, I had a strong feeling that she was my girl. I could tell that she immediately got me and my vision. Little did I know at this early point that not only would Erica turn out to be the #1 most helpful person planning my wedding, make me look more beautiful than ever before, but that she would turn into a lifelong friend.
Hiring Erica was EVERYTHING and more than I could ever have imagined. I couldn’t believe when she told me that she coincidentally worked out of both Long Island and Delray Beach, Florida - so close to where I live - and offered to fly here to do my makeup trial since I wasn’t going to be in New York prior to my wedding. It was truly meant to be. When we met, we hit it off, and as expected, she captured my vision to the T. I was so excited that I found such a talented artist for my big day. Even more incredible was that for the next 8 months she held my hand with my wedding planning…suggesting local vendors, making phone calls to her local contacts when I was in need of certain wedding planning things (rehearsal dinner venues, limo companies, etc.) and was always 150% right there when I had a question about the area, logistics, etc. She was so incredibly thoughtful and always went above, beyond and seriously out of her way to help me, purely out of the graciousness of her heart. She truly was my lifeline in planning my out of state wedding and I will be forever grateful.
On my wedding weekend, she made everything perfect. She made me look so beautiful for my rehearsal dinner and just like in our trial, on my wedding day, she captured my vision perfectly. It wasn’t an easy feat as I was looking for a done up yet natural, soft, classy look - but Erica handles everything with ease and there’s nothing too difficult for such a talented artist. My husband loves me without makeup so he was worried that I’d look too done up and over the top but he loved my makeup just as much as I did! She made my bridesmaids look so beautiful as well.
Erica is a true rare gem and by far the most talented makeup artist in the New York City/Long Island/South Florida area. On top this, she’s an incredible listener, planner, implementer and such an amazing person.
If you’re able to book her as your makeup artist for your wedding or event, consider yourself extremely lucky. You will absolutely be blown away.

Finding a makeup artist can definitely be one of the hardest things especially for your wedding day because it’s one the most important things to check off your list. The second I met Erika I just knew she was the real deal. I’m pretty particular about how my makeup is done being a competitive dance coach and having applied makeup to 100’s of my students, but for some reason when I sat in her chair for my wedding makeup trial I gave her complete control and told her to do what she thought would look the best. The trust she brings forth to her clients is unreal. It is calming and indescribable. She communicates with you, learns about you, definitely makes you laugh, and she takes the time and effort with all her love into making you feel and look absolutely beautiful. She is talented and real and those are hard qualities to find in a makeup artist. There is no question Erika made me look and feel absolutely stunning on my wedding day. The attention to detail she has is inspiring. She also made my bridal party feel and look exactly how I did and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Her amazing personality shines through in the amazing work she does and you can tell her passion for makeup is like no one else. I highly recommend her to other and and all LI brides. I can promise you you will not be disappointed. Thank you Erika for turning me into the princess I wanted to be for my special day!!! Erika is amazing. She is talented, listens to the clients' ideas and comfort levels, and she is so much fun! She had me, my mom and my girls laughing in the morning getting ready! I had a variety of girls' styles, some were used to wearing lots of makeup and some preferred it more light and Erika and her assistant adjusted to make everyone happy. I in particular have naturally thin eyebrows - always have, I've never waxed or threaded or anything, that's just what I'm stuck with. So I don't actually like big drawn on eyebrows because it changes me completely. Erika was reluctant since shaped eyebrows are the style now, but she listened to me and mixed colors to match my hair and she truly made me look and feel beautiful. Erika checked different lighting and different cell phone pictures to make sure that nothing photographed funny later when my guests would use their own devices. My makeup lasted through the day, into the evening and through my food truck hotel after party. I cannot say more good things about Erika and her work, I totally recommend calling her! -

Erika and her assistant Alex did an amazing job doing makeup for me and my entire bridal party for my wedding. All of the girls looked gorgeous, and she ensured that everyone was happy with their look before getting out of the makeup chair. She also kept me calm and entertained when I got worried about running late. All of our makeup stayed on the whole night and we all got compliments on it! Could not be happier with her services and highly recommend her to one and all! -

For the entire year leading up to my wedding, Erika was easy to get in touch with and was always so professional and responsive. Anytime I had a question or a worry, she always made me feel assured and at ease. It was also a big help that she was able to recommend a hair stylist for me and my bridal party.
Being able to have full use of the Viana's Salon for me and my girls the morning of the wedding was such a terrific experience. It made all the girls, and myself, feel so relaxed and comfortable during the getting ready process. Erika made sure to be in contact with both myself and the hotel prior to the wedding day to make sure that everything went smooth that morning - a huge help when you realize all that you need to do that week leading up to the big day.
Erika spent so much time with me that morning to make sure that I looked completely flawless and ready for pictures. I have to say that as someone who can overthink things and pick out little imperfections, I did not do this AT ALL with Erika. I truly knew that I was in the best hands possible and completely loved how my makeup turned out. She really helped me be relaxed and at ease when it came to my beauty routine for that day.
In addition, she went above and beyond by making a trip to my hall (after my pictures and right before my ceremony) to do touch ups and reapply lashes. She even gave my husband a bit of powder to get rid of his shine ;)
All in all, my wedding day would not have been the same without Erika's help and talent. I am SO thankful to have booked her, and would recommend that anyone do the same! Thank you, Erika! -

I asked for a glowy/Victoria Secret angel-esque look using airbrushing, with eyes that matched my wedding palette (rose gold/blush, burgundy) and Erika nailed it. She really knows how to listen to her clients, checks with them throughout the process on her progress in creating their dream façade, and takes any feedback & runs with it (or shares her professional opinion if it might not make the best appearance in photos). Any time I felt we could maybe add a little sparkle or shade somewhere, it was like she was reading my mind the moment I opened my mouth to say it or ask, and immediately created what I was thinking. I’ve never felt more beautiful & it showed in all my wedding photos. My bridesmaids & my mother all looked gorgeous. My mom has also never had her makeup professionally done and seeing her feel so beautiful made my heart explode—my mother was glowing in every single one of our photos.
The hairstylists she partners with are the best. Just before my wedding, the hairstylist I worked with during my trial injured her arm & couldn’t do my hair, but Erika assured me she had someone just as fabulous. Sasha is a rare gem. The kind of rare gem who takes your idea & then transforms it into something more magnificent than you can imagine. As she went, my mom & bridesmaids were oohing and ahhing—I couldn’t see much from my vantage but man, the suspense! When I finally did get to see I was blown away. I never could have even dreamt up what Sasha created. One of my longtime friends termed it “khaleesi-chic” and that’s the perfect description. Braids upon braids wrapped around the side & back of my head in a soft, almost magical way. In the front, she had created the most romantic braid (with no tie @the end!!!) that lay with the beachy waves draped over my shoulder. It was BEYOND! And every piece of it was still in place at the end of the night! I will also work with and recommend Erika! -

Alix Sent on 03/21/2018Erika was beyond helpful! We set a date for a makeup trial, I had pictures ready and she made it even better. She took copious notes and replicated it and then some on the day of my wedding. Not only was my makeup spectacular but my mother, grandmother, and all of my bridesmaids looked beautiful too. One bridesmaid even said, "I don't like makeup but this looks amazing!".

Working with the viana hotel ( where we had our block reservation) Erika ensured our morning went flawlessly. I cannot thank her enough!! Definitely recommend!
