Great Catering Company

Choosing Main Street Bakery was one of the best decisions we made when it came to choosing vendors. My husband and I tasted food at several vendors before our tasting with Main Street. The other vendors food was just okay and we thought we were going to have to settle. When we tasted Main Street Bakery food we knew we had found our caterer. The tasting was made specifically for us and our tastes. Chef Chuck explained everything that we were eating and gave suggestions. Once we chose Main Street Bakery we started working with Natane and she was so helpful throughout the process. Natane sat down with us as we got closer to our wedding and went through last minute details. Main Street Bakery served delicious food, the service was great, and we would highly recommend them for any couple looking for a caterer in the area.

Delicious food, affordable price, great to work with!

We got married on 9/14/19 and had the pleasure of enjoying Mainstreet Catering & Bakery as our caterer. I cannot say enough good things about them! Chief Chuck, Mandie, and Natane were always quick to respond to questions and adjust our proposal as needed. Throughout the preparation process, they proved they were willing to go the extra mile and do whatever it took to ensure our wedding day would go off without a hitch. Their staff did an amazing job setting up, serving, and bartending our wedding. And, most importantly, their food is AMAZING!!! So much so that we went and did two food tastings before the wedding haha. So many of our guests are STILL coming up to us and saying how good the food was. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Delightful planning experience!

My daughter was married on May 19, 2019. Several caterers were researched, and many reviews were read. After the tasting with Main Street, it was unanimous that they should be the caterers for the big day! (My grandaughter still talks about the Smoked Gouda Mac n Cheese!)
During the months following, up to and including the wedding day, everyone at Main Street was wonderful to work with! I spent alot of time talking with and emailing with Mandie Foster. Mandie was a dream to work with! I felt like she was as invested in the menu and the day's service as we were. She painstakingly went over the details, and helped me work out different options. We were having a family style dinner, so made sure we had everything exactly how we wanted it. Chef Chuck was equally as helpful in the planning, making suggestions on the menu, on service, etc. In the end, the food was amazing, the service top notch, and all of the staff were wonderful and helpful! I highly recommend Main Street Bakery and Catering for any event!

Best Catering!!

I used Main Street for catering for our wedding at Hotel Laurance and was SO impressed from the very beginning! I worked with Mandie throughout the few months leading up to the event. She was so awesome!! We did a tasting with her and Chef Chuck that was fabulous - we ended up not only using them for the dinner the night of our wedding, but also for our rehearsal dinner & breakfast for 2 mornings! They also were able to accommodate me by making pretty much everything gluten free.

Mandie made the entire process so easy. She was great at keeping me in the loop on anything that needed to be done on my end, updating paperwork, and following up with me. I literally never had a single worry!

The service for the weekend that we received from Main Street was exceptional - the same goes for the food for all 4 meals! Everyone was beyond happy and I appreciate their help so much. From helping set up tables & being there for both dinners to dropping off breakfast 2 mornings in a row, they went above & beyond!

If you're looking for a caterer, this is the one!

Best caterer

Guys, definitely hire these guys. The value is fantastic. They will advise you, they will stay in your budget, they can make a vast array of foods and they can do it well. My wedding food was BOSS and a huge hit, and I spent way, way less than people do when they get married at a typical hotel or catering hall.

Incredible Service and Food!

Main Street Bakery and Catering was perfect for our wedding! They were polite, professional, and incredibly easy to work with! And of course, the food was delicious and everyone loved at the wedding loved it!

We got in contact with Main Street during a wedding fair that was being hosted by our wedding venue. After trying the samples they had there, my wife and I decided that they would be a good bet to have them cater our wedding.

We were worried that by being four hours away from them (we live in Virginia Beach), communicating and setting up a tasting with Main Street would be difficult. This proved to be the opposite, and they made the planning process incredibly easy! We managed to get everything done through email and over the phone, including arranging a tasting. They were awesome in that regard due to the fact we both had busy schedules (we are both in the United States Navy). Their flexibility and their willing to work with us took out a lot of the stress for planning the wedding.

The options at the tasting were tasty and well themed to our wedding. My wife wanted a fall wedding with a bit of a rustic theme, and Main Street did an awesome job of preparing many food options that adhered to that theme. They presented several dishes, and they were all great. I knew they were the ones to go with when they convinced me to use their Chicken Florentine and Roasted Pork main courses as I was dead set on having a steak/roast beef option. The side dishes, especially the Savory Bread Pudding, were all amazing as well. And of course, our guests loved the food, too! They said the food was perfectly cooked and delicious. They couldn't wait to have more.

Their service was on point during the reception as well! The crew that was there did everything on their own, including the bartender. This was great as it allowed my wife and I to really enjoy our day. They made sure guests were happy and had everything they needed.

Main Street Bakery and Catering were instrumental in making our wedding perfect! They are polite, flexible, and great cooks! They will definitely make your wedding memorable as ours were!

One week before my wedding, the food truck we'd booked months in advance to provide a post-wedding brunch for 130+ people broke down.
As soon as I found out, I called Main Street Bakery, where Chef Chuck answered.
"Hi, I have a tiny pickup order with you guys for next Saturday for a couple quiches and a small salad... any chance we can expand that to a full-service full brunch for 130 guests on Sunday?"
I think Chef Chuck's initial reaction was "Holy mackerel!" which was immediately followed up by "Let's see what we can do for you." I didn't even have time to panic because right away Chef Chuck and I got to work coming up with a solid plan and had it in place within an hour, which I especially appreciate because I'd called at 5pm on a Friday and so this conversation was all happening after business hours.
It's tough to admit because I was so excited about the food truck, but the result was probably 800x better than my original food truck plan would have been. They were perfect!!! EVERYONE was talking about how delicious the quiches were. The muffins were smashing. The staff were all professional and friendly. And there was plenty of food for everyone to stuff their post-wedding faces.
I wish that all things wedding-related were as wonderful as working with Chef Chuck! He took what could have been a meltdown moment and turned it into one of the highlights of our entire wedding. And he was soooo patient, friendly, and comforting! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Main Street Bakery & Catering catered a 'Welcome Dinner' for 90 people at Shenandoah Woods the night before our son's wedding. They exceeded expectations at all levels - planning, flexibility, quality of food, and experienced and attentive staff. Chef Chuck, Jimmy, Chris, Carey, and the rest of the staff couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant to work with - what a phenomenal team! Guests couldn't say enough about how delicious everything was, even the cheese selection. I was able to relax within minutes of observing the team knowing that all was in good hands. I highly recommend engaging them for your event - you won't be disappointed.

We had the Flourless Chocolate Torte, the Pumpkin Pie, and the Maple Chocolate Pecan Pie from Main Street Catering at our Fall wedding. The pies were amazing. The line was longest for the Chocolate Torte, though in my opinion the Maple Chocolate Pecan Pie was to die for and folks also mentioned that the Pumpkin was very good.
We made an appointment for a tasting in April and everyone was professional and accommodating. Our order went smoothly with good communication through the entire process. We thought the value was great for the excellent quality pies. We definitely recommend Main Street Catering and Bakery for Pies!

We used MSB for our rehearsal dinner on August 4th at the Manor House behind the Mimslyn Inn, for our wedding on August 5th at Khimaira Farm, for a farewell breakfast on August 6th also at the Manor House, and we purchased cookies from them for our welcome bags! Words can't express how happy I am that I chose MSB for all these events. The food is AMAZING, and our guests were complimenting every meal they tasted. We did heavy app service and cocktails with a bartender they provided for our rehearsal and everything went so smoothly. For the wedding we did a fancier take on BBQ with all the sides and all 130 of our guests were full and raving about the food! They even were able to make special accommodations for guests with allergies and special diets. For the breakfast They brought in these unbelievable fresh pastries, bagels, lox and so on. It was a lovely end to our weekend. Based on what Iv heard from other friends getting married, their prices are extremely reasonable. They were so easy to work with and knew all the ins and outs of Khimaira and the Manor House which made eveything so much easier for us. I would without a doubt use MSB for events in the future!

Coming from out of town, I found Main Street Bakery/Catering very professional and welcoming. We personally met the chef & the planner, so began to develop a relationship immediately. The menu was diverse, the planner/manager explained what they offered and gave the pricing upfront, plus later she was very attentive & prompt in answering questions. Once we secured a venue, they visited the site to be sure of table size. #, & configuration. When options became available to set up earlier than planned, MSBC switched to accommodate us. The service at our rehearsal dinner was awesome, and servers went above & beyond what we requested. They were efficient, courteous, prompt, and organized. In my book, they earned an A+ rating.

From start to finish we really are happy that we picked Main Street Bakery. The recipes the chef used were delicious. Stephanie, their coordinator, is very easy to work with and very knowledgeable about the catering business. We had a couple of tastings to identify the choices. I thought the prices were very reasonable. They did supply two bartenders, but we purchased all of the alcohol, mixers and garnish on our own.

Danielle was awesome! She was helpful when we needed it and accommodating of our ideas! She was great about being available at times that worked for us! Chuck's food was awesome, especially the apps (crab cakes and stuffed mushrooms). The day of our wedding they were excellent! Everything was on time and executed how we had discussed! The staff (bartenders and servers) were great! They even saved us apps from the cocktail hour, which were obviously my favorite! We also had our cake and cupcakes from Main Street and those were raved about by so many guests! Thank you!!

I had an event at the Westcott House in Luray. Main Street Bakery and Catering was very easy to work with! Absolutely helpful staff! They customize catering orders from a very large selection so everyone's happy, not to mention that the foods amazing and the portion sizes are LARGE! Before the event, the bakery always answered my many emailed questions with courtesy and promptness. At the event, the food was plentiful and excellent (we had three vegetarian appetizers, lemonade, and cake for about 100 people.) The staff were incredibly professional, kind, and helpful, and everything tasted wonderful. Definitely recommend!

Everyone we worked with from Main Street was awesome. Chuck helped us put together a great menu and held a tasting with us which was wonderful and assured us we made the right choice - we were wishing we could eat more! Danielle helped with the coordination of the event and she did such a fantastic job. Every little question I had she helped explain in a timely manner and really made me feel like the event was in good hands. She put personal touches on everything and I really felt like she cared about how things would go just as much as I did.

The pricing was very reasonable and since they allow you to cover certain items on your own if you want to (like bringing your own beverages, cake, cups, plates, etc.) you can feel good knowing you're in control of your budget.

On top of every other reason this business is great, I feel like they care about the community. They do things like using local produce and donating leftovers to the women's shelter.

Definitely recommend using this for your catering - you wil be making the right choice. Thanks Main St. for making our event so fantastic!!

I was so happy to use Main Street for my wedding! The food was absolutely fantastic. We wanted dishes that would fit the season and our Christmas theme. We also specifically wanted a hot cocoa and coffee bar, a plated meal, and a bar service as well. They were extremely flexible and worked with our own existing ideas to create something that was truly unique and exceptional! Service and price was fantastic! I would recommend them to everyone!

Danielle and Chuck did a wonderful job throughout the entire process! They were very accommodating and understanding throughout. We are receiving so many compliments from our guests regarding how wonderful the food tasted and was presented. There were many different ideas that we gave Danielle and Chuck and they were able to translate and capture our overall theme. They were very flexible and provided different options to save money to make sure we did not go over our planned budget. Super helpful! Payment and reminders were very helpful along with the monthly check-ins to make sure we were all good to go! We had a wonderful experience and we would love to work with them again!

So I may have had a Harry Potter theme to my wedding, and any good Hogwarts feast needs tasty, rich, fall, cozy food. Our wedding meal was the brainchild of Chef Chuck at Main Street Bakery and Catering (MSBC) in downtown Luray, VA. I supplied MSBC with a list of ideas prior to the tasting to narrow down what we were after. Danielle worked with me over the coming weeks to help me tweek servings, pricing, and deal with the needs of many guests. She was a gem who understood we were pulling off an event, and that it was never finalized until it was served. Working with them was easy and fluid, we all were in this together, and we could make changes and ask questions up until the near end.
The staff were hilarious and friendly, yet extremely professional. Chuck was exceptionally thoughtful in listening to what we thought we wanted, and helping us learn how pairings work, what we should aim for, and help shape our ideas so that they still retained our original ideas.
Finally, their prices were GREAT. Seriously. This is a major part of why we looked to hold our wedding someplace like Luray instead of DC. ~$3500 for 160 servings:
Appetizer: butternut squash soup that was circulated in small espresso sized mugs
Main: pork tenderloin in a cider reduction
Sides: 3-colored potatoes, Asparagus/Mushroom ragu, and 3 Sisters Vegan bean medley.

They also were spectacular in making dishes vegan instead of just vegetarian, so it could be enjoyed more widely.

Danielle was a super responsive and worked with us as our guest count fluctuated =). All of our guests loved the food and we had just about the perfect amount...(it's Tuesday night and we are just about to finish up the last of the leftovers from our Sunday wedding). Highly recommend!

Mainstreet Bakery has been great! Danielle was very patient and accommodating when it came to my multiple questions. Even though I was planning my wedding from 200 miles away it never seemed like it when I was working with them. Since my wedding I have received multiple compliments on the food quality. If you are searching for a caterer there is no need to look any further because you are in great hands working with them.

This is the first wedding I have ever been to that everyone LOVED the food!! Short ribs, chicken, KILLER mac and cheese and KILLER corn and basil pudding!!! All fabulous. Main Street Bakery has delicious food, and wonderful employees! When I first secured this venue I was looking at price since I was on a tight budget. They have VERY reasonable prices, and very talented chefs/cooks. MSB was also very accommodating, I live in Idaho so when I flew home to go to my venue's open house with my mother they were so kind to fit me into their busy schedule for a tasting that same weekend. Their responsiveness is on point, every time I sent out an email I received one back within 24 hours. They were also great at checking in with me and sending emails out to ensure I hadn't changed my mind about any of the services. The day of the wedding everything was set up perfectly and the service was outstanding with their staff. Clean up was very fast and efficient. If your looking for personable, affordable, and great quality service and food I would definitely recommend Main Street Bakery!

I can't say enough good things about this business! My only regret is not using them for all of my wedding catering. They did our rehearsal dinner, dessert, and breakfast the morning after. Everyone was so impressed with it all. The food is fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. Danielle was also super proactive in communicating with us and making sure things went smoothly/ everything was exactly as we wanted. Couldn't be happier!

10/10 would recommend having the Main Street Bakery cater your wedding. The food is delicious (I still have dreams about the Gouda Mac and Cheese), they know what they're doing when calculating your head count, and they are so professional and on top of everything. The bartender even started serving ahead of his scheduled time, which I know our guests appreciated because of the hot weather! Danielle and Chef Chuck were always available via e-mail, phone, or in-person meetings and helped ease our worries whenever we talked to either of them.

The team at Main Street Bakery did an amazing job of ensuring that our wedding went off without a hitch. They were recommended to us as we were scrambling to find someone who could supplement several other vendors who were contributing to our wedding. They were more than accommodating of our unusual requests, which included dietary restrictions, do-it-your-self appetizers and a homemade vegetarian pulled pork entree. Danielle was a huge help in planning the appetizers, side dishes and logistics of getting everything prepped, delivered, setup and served. The service was great and the food was delicious. Our guests had high praise for all of the food, and we would work with them again in a heart beat.

Book them. Immediately. Main Street was wonderful! They helped us trouble shoot, plan and pick great food. They made all sorts of cost-saving suggestions (even when we didn't ask for them) and did all sorts of extra special things for our wedding day (like letting us borrow equipment for our rehearsal dinner, delivering us a special tray of aps while we mingled, and adding on a few extras we liked but didn't order). They were wonderful!!

I chose Main Street Bakery & Catering to cater our son's rehearsal dinner. From the first time I spoke with Danielle Painter, I knew things were going to go smoothly. I was planning the dinner as a "remote mother of the groom" and Danielle made every effort to make my job easier. She sent me detailed information on food choices, catering options, etc. to read at my leisure. Having all that detailed info at my fingertips was so helpful while I was making decisions. Chef Chuck's menu choices were extensive and he is always open to changes and additions to meet dietary requirements, cuisine preference ... whatever you want to make your dinner perfect!

I needed a venue for the dinner and Main Street Bakery & Catering gave me a number of suggestions. After some searching, I settled on Hotel Laurance, a recently renovated boutique hotel in downtown Luray, VA. It was a win-win deal! The venue was gorgeous and the food was delicious! The catering wait staff were professional yet personable which made for a relaxed and fun atmosphere. The dinner was a success in every way!

I used this caterer for my son's rehearsal dinner. The food and service were absolutely wonderful. Several comments were made about how good the food was. Since we had a pasta bar and they could not put garlic in the sauces due to a garlic allergy, I think that was very high praise. The wait staff and chef were very personable. I also like the fact that I could donate leftovers to a local cause.

Chef Chuck, Danielle, our lovely baker, and the rest of the crew were absolutely wonderful to work with! From the tasting to the actual night, the food was absolutely stunning and was the talk of many of our guests! They made a menu that really complimented our style and exceeded all of our expectations! You can tell that they have a true passion for what they do - it shows in just about every aspect! Danielle was a gem - she was very responsive and sweet and didn't mind how many questions we asked. Our cake-cutting cake was truly delicious and beautiful as well - cannot say enough good things about that! We also had a dessert buffet that included mini dessert shooters (tiramisu and summer berry custard), mini cupcakes (vanilla, chocolate peanut butter), and a variety of cookies - big hit! My entrance into the ceremony was around back and they were all standing at the door (behind the scenes) giving me thumbs up and grinning - sweet touch! By coincidence, all of the main people ended up working our event, which also made the night truly special for us! Definitely recommend them for any event!

Wow!

My husband and I married in Luray Caverns on 11 June. The day was everything I could have ever hoped for. The team at Main Street Bakery and Catering was instrumental in the success of my event. They catered my rehearsal dinner, provided brunch baskets the morning of the wedding and catered my reception. They were extremely accommodating from the start. Chuck and team tried a new recipe for me that was so amazing, I was able to include it in my rehearsal dinner menu. Throughout the entire process, I could always call Danielle. She would go out of her way to assist with whatever question or change I threw her way, and she always did so with a smile. The bakery team made my cake, and, like most brides, it wasn't just any cake. I had to have a custom flavor, custom frosting and a cupcake tower featuring several combinations. They didn't even bat an eyelash and delivered my dream wedding cake. The staff that came to each event did an incredible job. My guests found them to be professional, kind, courteous and friendly. When my husband and I finished our pictures and were walking from the wedding site to the reception site, 2 members of the catering team chased us down because they had saved appetizers for us and knew we would be starving. It was such a thoughtful thing to do!!! No request was too big or too small. Upon request, they even frosted a special cupcake for me as part of a prank on a friend. It was a small detail that I think many caterers would have forgotten, but not Main Street. They remembered every detail about my big day, AND...the wedding (and prank) went perfectly.

Everything was phenomenal! We held an intimate wedding at our home in Castleton for 54 close family and friends. As the bride, I was extremely pleased with the services offered by this company. It truly was a pleasurable experience from the start. I was amazed not only by the delicious food, but by the impeccable attention to detail in the planning of our event. Thanks to the wonderful people at Main Street Bakery, our celebration was flawless. Guests are still raving about their meals and the professionalism of our caterers. The staff went above and beyond all expectations, yet again. They were so friendly and helpful. The evening transitioned smoothly from course to course, and each display was beautifully arranged. Main Street catered our daughter's wedding at Shenandoah Woods on April 30. The food was outstanding. We had a plated dinner with 3 entree choices. The service was flawless the day of the event. Danielle was our contact at Main Street and she did an outstanding job of thinking through every detail. She responded to emails in a quick fashion and you could tell that she wanted to be sure that there were no gaps in service. They also did the cake and the cupcakes which were yummy! Main street had worked at Shenandoah Woods before so they were familiar with the venue. We couldn't be more pleased and highly recommend them.

I cannot praise Main Street Bakery, Chef Chuck, and the staff enough for the amazing food at our wedding and the wonderful service they provided to us throughout our wedding planning. Do not look any further for your wedding caterer because they do it all! Chef Chuck even came up with some original recipes for certain menu items my husband and I really wanted. He tried multiple recipes to perfect his, never offered before, fried pickles and dipping sauce for our cocktail hour. This is above and beyond what I would expect any caterer to do. They will work with you to all of your wedding food visions come true! Our guests are still raving about how delicious the food at our wedding was including appetizers, dinner, and mini cheesecakes for dessert (my favorite)! The snobbiest of the snobbiest food critics attended our wedding and I spotted them going up for their seconds shortly after sitting down with their first extremely full plate of food!

To make it easy for all those future brides out there, I’m going to provide the must haves for your wedding from Main Street Bakery!

- Appetizers: mini cornbread bites with pimento cheese, fried pickles with spicy dipping sauce
- Dinner: Short Ribs (you have to get this as a meat selection), Gouda mac n cheese, bacon collard greens, and the honey glazed carrots are delicious and add beautiful color to the menu.
- Dessert: You can’t go wrong with any of the desserts! I did an assortment of mini cheesecakes which were amazing.

You will not be disappointed choosing Main Street Bakery for your special event. They are professional, personable, accommodating, very reasonably priced, and great people that truly care about making your wedding a special day.

The food and the pies that we ordered for our wedding were fantastic!! I'm writing this review 1.5 years after our wedding day (8/23/14) - writing this on 01/20/16, and to this day, we still have friends and family bring up the food and the pies and constantly rave about the beef and most especially the chocolate pecan pie!! During our tastings, the Chef was extremely flexible in arranging times for the tastings, personalizing our meals for a plated dinner, adjusting items to match our palates, and recommending appetizer quantities for the guest count.

Jay North and Chef Arnaud of Main Street Bakery & Catering in Luray, VA deserve a huge "BRAVO" for the success of our son and daughter-in-law's FABULOUS rehearsal dinner! With Jay's extensive experience & knowledge regarding the necessary food quantities, table settings, glassware & cutlery, as well as where to find the best linens for table coverings, we felt immediately comfortable in choosing this vendor! He was always available for my questions as we were planning the events, guiding me with his experience, yet always focusing on my ideas. And when the day finally arrived, Chef Arnaud created the most elegant, luscious, and lovely entrees, side dishes and desserts for us and our guests. Absolutely everything was delicious! My favorites were the salmon and the roasted veggies. Their service personnel were outstanding in their presentation of the dinner, their friendly & professional interactions with the guests, and their extraordinary clean-up, including boxing/wrapping all of the leftovers for our guests to enjoy again. There were so many compliments from our guests regarding the delicious food! In addition to the rehearsal dinner, we hosted a Sunday brunch for family and friends, again catered by Main Street Bakery and Catering. It was lovely, and just perfect in terms of the food selection. The server who set up the brunch was so helpful, lovely, and did a fantastic job!
I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, Jay North and Chef Arnaud made our events tremendously successful with the delicious food, with their talented & friendly staff, as well as their guidance during the planning of our events. I highly recommend this vendor for your catering needs!

Main Street Bakery made my wedding truly memorable. They catered the reception dinner and dessert, as well as brunch the next day, and my family is still talking about how wonderful that food was. We had a sort of rustic/country wedding at Khimaira Farm, and we wanted the food to match the theme. We had the most delicious pulled pork BBQ, gouda mac and cheese, black bean tagine, and potato salad, with crab cakes and pesto stuffed mushrooms as appetizers. I highly recommend the crab cakes! For dessert, we had an assortment of pies and cupcakes. I still dream about that mixed berry pie. They also provided lemonade, iced tea, salad and rolls.

Brunch the next day was absolutely wonderful, and Chuck and his crew made everything seamless and easy. We were staying at the River Bend Ranch, which Chuck knew very well, and he was able to set everything up in the kitchen there. Biscuits with white pepper gravy, assorted pastries and spinach and mushroom quiche. Everything wa delicious, and all of our guests really enjoyed the meal.

For any future events like family reunions or anniversaries, I'll definitely be going back to Main Street!

Chef Chuck and his staff did an outstanding job in preparing a Sunday brunch for the day after our son's wedding. He even came. The quiches were super delicious, the sticky buns scrumptious, the fruit fresh, and the coffee and everything else that we chose to serve was great. He was ready to go at the time I had designated. Main Street catered our wedding at Shenandoah Woods Pavilion and did a fantastic job! Everyone was a pleasure to work with, especially Janet and Chef. They are very flexible with their menu and offer great suggestions and a wide selection of appetizers and entrees. Their prices are reasonable and their food is very high quality. People are still talking about the homemade mac 'n cheese they served -- hands down the best I've ever had! The mini crab cake appetizers were also a big hit.

If you are thinking of having them cater an outdoor wedding near by, ask about their yellow canoe! If available, they will loan you their canoe to fill with ice, beer, soda, etc. as a fun alternative to a regular cooler. Our guests loved the idea and it helped cut down on bar traffic.

I would highly recommend Main Street as a wedding caterer -- flexible, responsive, friendly vendors can be hard to come by, but they are definitely one of the few!

Main Street is the most wonderful caterer you could ever hope for! They were absolutely amazing to work with and made planning our menu so easy. They were extremely responsive and knowledgeable. All emails were returned very quickly. The service was outstanding. The chef asked us what type of food we were going for and then designed a menu around that. My husband went out to sample everything, and it was fabulous! Janet walked us through the process and always kept us updated. Furthermore, everyone was very respectful of our budget -- a rarity in the wedding industry -- and worked out the details to make the catering completely affordable. The staff was fabulous and so kind to all our guests. Main Street was even flexible about offering a vegetarian selection when we asked about it the week before the wedding!

Delicious food!

Main Street had amazing food and they were super flexible while planning our wedding. They seem to mostly do buffets, but we worked with them on a seated dinner and it was delicious. The staff did a very nice job. They even learned how to make a special dish for us that wasn't on the menu! Seriously delicious and really accommodating - can't recommend Chef Chuck and Mandy more!

Main Street Bakery catered three events for our wedding: day-of breakfast, the wedding reception meal (including pies for dessert!), and Sunday brunch. All were fantastic. Our guests said the reception food was the best wedding food we ever had. I took one star off because we had three different coordinators over the year we had them booked and I had to repeat a lot of information. That being said, we would still use them in a heartbeat and recommend them to anyone who is getting married in the area.

Main Street definitely knows the wedding business and is the best bet for anyone getting married in the Luray area. Their service is very flexible -- you pay per person per item -- so you can tailor the menu however you want. They were willing to accomoate all of our specific requests on the day of, and we had quite a number. The food is good, not the most amazing ever, but it will please a variety of different tastes (as you must with a wedding) and they know how to handle the service. Our recommendation is to provide a comprehensive list of the specific items you'd like to have at your tasting before going in; otherwise you may end up serving items you've never tasted or doing a second tasting.

Great people! Awesome food! The chicken was amazing--just wish there was more of it! The cornbread pudding was out of the park; guest favorite. Let me start out by saying Chef Chuck and Jimmy are WONDERFUL! They were so easy to work with and so accommodating of allergies (gluten, dairy, nuts, soy). We did a variety of dishes family style for 100 guests. All of the food was AMAZING! We also had sheet cakes and some other desserts provided by MainStreet, which were also great! Chris was our bartender and absolutely wonderful, as well. They staff was great and everything turned out wonderfully and ran smoothly on the day of the wedding!

The only reason MainStreet is not getting 5/5 stars from me is because communication prior to the wedding was pretty tough. Everything ended up working out, but there was a ton of back and forth and misunderstanding for the month prior to our wedding, which caused a lot of anxiety/stress for me and m husband. They have some changes in the staff, so hopefully things are going more smoothly with communication now! I need to reiterate that Chef Chuck is wonderful. I had called to talk to him about my concerns with the communication with his staff and he made me feel much better. He reassured me that the wedding day would be great and they would make sure everything turned out perfectly (and it did!).

We are so happy we chose Main Street Bakery and Catering for our wedding! They were great to work with over the last few months. Everything was delicious and all of our guests were very happy with everything. They have worked at our venue (Khimaira Farm) many times so that was an added bonus, everything went smoothly. I definitely recommend them if you are searching for a caterer.

Main Street catered my wedding and the food was amazing. We had plated and passed appetizers, and plated entrees which were as beautiful and they were delicious. We had a very small wedding cake for cutting photos, and it looked perfect. We opted for a large selection of pies for the dessert, and everyone who attended said they absolutely loved them! Our only complaint was the servers were supposed to open and offer wine to every table during the main course, and they never did.
But if you want great food and dessert, this is the company to use!

Delicious Food and Great Staff

We used Main Street Catering and Bakery for our reception and bar, and we were so happy with the food and service! We had multiple guests say it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding, which was amazing as a bride and groom to hear. We definitely recommend Main Street's catering and service!

I would recommend Main Street Bakery and Catering. The bakery made our wedding cake and cupcakes for our wedding in Luray, VA. The cake was beautifully done and matched our description and wedding colors/ theme well. The cupcakes were also nicely done. We did a tasting to chose flavors and were happy with the taste and final product.

Main Street Bakery catered my wedding and they were wonderful! We also picked up muffins and quiche for breakfast, they were amazing! We also had pies for rehearsal dessert and all my guests loved them! Overall, I have only heard positive things from my guests, everyone loved it! Thank you Main Street Bakery for a wonderful job!

Main Street catered our wedding celebration in Luray. We couldn't be more thrilled with the result! Danielle is detail-oriented and thought of stuff we hadn't even considered. We had some special requests--and they were more than willing to work with us. Try the veggie lasagna... you can't go wrong. And chef Chuck clearly takes pride in his work--people are still raving about the pies!

This past weekend Mainstreet catered the food for our Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding Reception, Sunday Brunch, and muffins for breakfast on our wedding day. While we got off to a rocky start with our initial tasting, we can happily say that we are extremely satisfied with the way things turned out. Chef Chuck and his staff did an amazing job putting together menus that fit our budget as well as our flavor preferences. Their coordinator Danielle went above and beyond to work with us to make sure that our menu selections were exactly what we were looking for. Overall we are pleased with our experience with Mainstreet and would recommend them to other couples looking for a wedding and event caterer.

Overall, the quality of the Main Street's food was very good. We really enjoyed the hot appetizers, like the mac n cheese and pulled pork sliders. They also did great meat/veggie chilis and corn muffins for our welcome dinner, and quiches for our brunch. The pies were also top notch. The chicken tagine was a little dry, so overall I would give the food a 4-star review.

I've bumped it down to 3 stars because of the customer service. There was significant turnover during the year I worked with them, and no one kept any records, so I had to reexplain things repeatedly to new employees, and a few of my priorities got lost in the shuffle. For example, we really didn't want there to be a long line at the bar during cocktail hour. While one employee assured me she'd make sure two people were there serving drinks, that message got lost when she left, and we ended up with one server and a super long line. As another example, we took the time to make the bartender a list of all the alcohol we had purchased so he could keep track. At the end of the evening, we found both cases of champagne in the refrigerator, unopened, because he never offered it to anyone. On top of this, there were several other pretty basic catering tasks that only happened because I reminded someone, like lighting candles and bringing beer steins.

So, in summary, the food was pretty good, but this is not going to be a vendor where your experience is easy or smooth sailing.
