We could not have been happier with our experience! From the very beginning, the catering team was responsive, professional, and easy to work with especially with the guest list frequently changing. On the wedding day, everything went seamlessly and we didn’t have to worry about a single detail.
The food was absolutely incredible. Our guests raved about both the appetizers and the main courses, and we’re still hearing compliments weeks later. We highly recommend the fried chicken and waffle cones, the steak crostini, and the mac and cheese bites for apps. Main courses included a roasted chicken and fillet mignon with green beans and mashed potatoes. Every dish was absolutely incredible.

We were very happy with Main Event's catering of our July 2025 wedding at Stone Tower Winery! They carried out everything to perfection, and the food was really good! We especially got a ton of compliments on the hors d'oeuvres, and our specialty cocktails were amazing. Destiny was so great to work with, and the rest of the staff day-of were incredibly friendly and attentive. Not just food but amazing service
We cannot thank Main Event Caterers enough for making our wedding day truly unforgettable! From the very beginning, they were incredibly communicative, organized, and attentive to every detail, ensuring that everything went off without a hitch. Their professionalism and dedication to providing an exceptional experience for us and our guests were evident from start to finish.
One of the biggest concerns we had going into the wedding was finding a caterer that could accommodate my wife’s gluten-free needs. Main Event Caterers went above and beyond, not only offering a wide variety of gluten-free options but also making sure that everything was carefully prepared and cross-contaminant-free. My wife felt completely at ease, and we were both so impressed with their willingness to tailor the menu to ensure her dietary restrictions were fully respected. It truly meant the world to us.
Throughout the night, the entire staff at Main Event Caterers was phenomenal. Despite the whirlwind of activity, they made sure that my wife and I were taken care of, ensuring we had food and drinks throughout the night—even when things were at their craziest with us being the bride and groom. Their thoughtfulness and attention to our needs allowed us to relax and truly enjoy the evening, knowing we were in such capable hands.
And of course, the food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was a hit with our guests, and we’ve received countless compliments on how amazing the food was. The presentation was stunning, and each bite was better than the last. We are still hearing rave reviews about the meal from our friends and family!

When planning our wedding, we just kept saying “we want food people will enjoy!” And oh man, did Main Event deliver! We did a cocktail hour with passed hors d'oeuvres and a buffet with steak, salmon, farrotto, gnocchi, and grilled veggies. I saw people literally getting up for thirds! They also had a designated staff member to focus on us specifically during the reception, which was incredible. My husband and I were never without a drink in our hand or food when we wanted it. The event management/planning team was wonderful, attentive, and always available to answer our questions. The on-site staff was friendly and professional. We had a little snafu during the evening with a miscommunication on timelines, but the onsite team was quick to rectify things and the planning team followed up soon after the wedding. Overall fantastic, I highly recommend- they truly are the best. -

Main Event Caterers is a force to be reckoned with! From the very moment we went to our tasting, we knew right away that not only the food was impeccable, but the staff, service, attention to detail, and ease of the wedding planning process was the exact vibe we wanted and needed! Our event designer, Ali, was attentive, kind, organized, and helpful along the entire planning process, answering any and all questions and revising things as we went along! Our entire food selection, from the delicious scallop hors d’oeuvres, to the flavorful steak and chicken, to the dessert spread, all of the food came out prepared exactly as we remember from our tasting! On top of the food, the staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and exceeded everyone’s expectations! Ali was our contact and from day one after speaking with her, I knew main event was the way we were going. She bent over backwards to make us happy. We had an American/Indian reception and main event was able to outsource the Indian food for us. I loved that they didn’t make an empty promise of saying they could handle the Indian food themselves. The American food that main event did handle was spectacular. We keep hearing from everyone how amazing our food was. We were also able to provide our own alcohol which I loved. We made changes at our tasting and they made those requested changes on the day of and I was very pleased with that. We had our “bride and groom stalker” and they were insanely attentive. We were at a different place in the venue changing for our reception and they effortlessly found us to provide us with our specialty drinks and hours d’ouerves. Then all night they checked on us and served us at our seats even though we had a buffet. But they were never over bearing or annoying. Seriously from beginning to end, I cannot say enough good things about main event. They are not cheap but I think they were very fair for what they delivered. I loved them!! -

We used Main Event for our wedding at Woodend Sanctuary in October and I will literally hire them for every event I can in the future. Working with Elyse was FANTASTIC and she/they made the whole process so easy. The food, drinks, and our donut wall for dessert was perfection. I can't tell you how many of our guests said it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. They were also super accommodating and made delicious mocktails that could be easily mixed with alcohol for non-drinkers and drinkers alike. They also served my husband and I smaller portions of all of our meal options since the food was so delicious we couldn't decide on just one! The day of staff was wonderful and professional. One of the biggest reasons we hired them was because they assigned my husband and I our own caterer to make sure we were personally taken care of and had a chance to eat and drink! I love Main Event and 10/10 recommend them! -

Main event caterers exceeded all expectations above and beyond. They arranged for everything the meals, the cutlery, the linens, the tables and chairs, the labor, etc. it was amazing that I didn’t have to find multiple vendors because main event did it all. I worked with Ali directly coordinating everything and she is such a sweetheart. I loved how well everyone on the team worked with each other. The food was delicious and beautiful. The staff were so kind. For everything that we got, not just for the event, but also the experience the day of, it was well worth the price. -

Guests RAVED about the food
Everyone absolutely loved the food (especially the Seared Wild Sea Bass with cured lemon + agave gastrique & guajillo + herb speckled glaze--but it was great across the board). I had so many sincere comments about it amazing and it being the best food they've ever had at a wedding. Elyse was so helpful through the planning process and the day of, Jack (our butler) and Marco (lead) were superb and anticipated the needs of everyone.
They had traditional and creative menu options. I really liked that at the tasting, they prepared the food using the methods they would use at the venue. Since the venue didn't have a kitchen, they have to parcook (I think that's the term?) things beforehand, and having them prepare it how it would actually be prepared the day of was really helpful. The vegetables were really impressively cooked--it seems small, but a lot of times you go to a wedding and the vegetables are boring and flavorless and overcooked because they're just steamed. Not these.
I love food so that was my main focus, but the linen & rental options gave us the feel we were looking for the day of.
Definitely recommend! -

Wow! We couldn't be more pleased with our catering from Main Event. They were absolutely incredible and everyone raved about our food. For cocktail hour, we got 3 passed hors d'voures and had 3 cocktail hour stations and it was a lot of food. People said they've never been so well fed at cocktail hour so clearly that went over well! The dinner entrees were also incredible and received rave reviews.
On a more personal note, it was so great how well the Main Event staff took care of us. Melissa, our event designer, was so responsive to every question we had during the planning process, and was accommodating when we changed our menu a few times. We also had a dedicated butler who was EXCELLENT at making sure I always had a constant stream of food being offered to me at cocktail hour. I was so happy with Main Event and would recommend them to anyone! -

We loved having Main Event cater our wedding. The food was really really delicious. We had lots of people tell us how much they enjoyed the food. We had the latin braised short rib, grilled salmon, and stuffed poblano peppers as our entrees. All 3 were hits! Would highly recommend. -

Choosing A Main Event to cater our wedding was one of the best decisions we made!! They were so attentive to every detail, making sure guests with dietary restrictions still had delicious options and customizing our menu to be exactly what we wanted. Ali was a dream to work with and we so appreciated her expertise and guidance in all the planning! She stayed in constant contact with us leading up to the big day. And the tasting was SO much fun - definitely my husband's favorite part of the wedding planning process! Our guests couldn't stop talking about how amazing the food was - the hors d'oeuvres were delicious and creative, and the main courses were out of this world. The beef short ribs are one of the best dishes I've had anywhere! Food is such an important part of a wedding experience, and A Main Event made sure it was tasty and memorable. Greg, as our fabulous supervisor, and all the wonderful serving staff provided exceptional and friendly service to all our guests throughout the cocktail hour and reception making absolutely sure everyone’s needs were met! As the bride and groom, we had our own server the entire evening so that we always had enough to eat and drink while we were talking and taking pictures. We would highly recommend A Main Event for all your catering needs! -

Main Event Catering is truly a 5 star team in every way! I am a destination event planner who has worked with this team on numerous occasions and can't recommend them enough. Daniela Aroujo was our event's team lead from this past weekend's event in Old Town Alexandria and we could not have been more pleased with the outcome of our experience. She was prompt with communication leading up until the big day and went above and beyond to ensure the success of our couple's day when we were faced with an emergent flooding scenario in the city.
The team's servers and bartenders always come dressed professionally and are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure our couples have the event of their dreams. The food is delicious and the presentation is stunning. We would recommend this team to any of our couples and look forward to our next opportunity to work together. -

From our very first call with Melissa at Main Event, we were thoroughly impressed. She asked thoughtful questions, including inquiring about restaurants we specifically enjoyed in the area. These organically guided us to a potential theme for our menu. Then came our tasting, where Main Event pulled out all the stops. Our private tasting with the chef was incredible and we fell in love with the customized menu, elevated presentation, and top-notch service. Melissa nailed bringing to life the “Under the Tuscan Sun” ideas we had chatted about on the phone to life (think Aperol Spritz’s, Panzanella salad, Branzino, Chicken Picatta, and more). We opted for a Seafood forward cocktail hour -- don’t skip the mini lobster rolls -- our guests still talk about them!! Truly exceptional on all fronts from the food quality, service, and overall logistics. -

I am so glad that we found Main Events during our vendor search - Spencer and Ali were extremely helpful during our whole process. From the initial planning sessions to the tasting and final planning/wedding day, Main Events were so helpful. They helped us think through design items as well as food options/timing. Not to mention the food is amazing and we got a lot of compliments from our guests on the food/drinks. We hired Main Event after speaking with Spencer and Ali. They made the whole process extremely easy and enjoyable. Our venue needed everything but tables and chairs, and they provided everything for us. On the day of our wedding, we had no concerns about the day going smoothly. The food was unbelievable - everyone told us it was the best wedding meal they had ever had! The service was also impeccable - there was never a line at the bar and we even had our own attendant (Greg) who made us feel so special and taken care of the whole night. -

Truly can't say enough about how great our experience with Main Event was. Spencer and Melissa made the tasting, planning, coordinating, organizing, and everything else incredibly easy in advance of the wedding. They always offered input, ideas, and feedback but were also more than happy to follow our lead. Without a doubt they were the best catering option among the 10 or so that our venue allowed. On the day of the wedding, the service staff was absolutely outstanding in every way. They were quick to set up, did everything perfectly, and transformed a tented terrace into a beautiful dining room. The food was astounding, the service was impeccable, the bar was great (we got countless compliments on our bartender), and breakdown was quick and easy. Main Event was a critical part of our special day, and they executed everything perfectly. -

Main Event was the most spectacular catering company, and made our wedding simply fantastic. Spencer and his team were amazing during the initial consult, presenting various menu option that were in line with our winter wedding theme, as well as linen, place setting and glass options. The tasting was some of the best food I ever had – we left stuffed, and they made it very special. From a personal parking spot, to champagne during the actual tasting, it was AMAZING! The quality of the ingredients, the vastness of the selection, and the deft with which they put it all together were amazing. We did a dual entrée with short rib and crab cakes, along with parmesan polenta and roasted brussels. Passed hors d’oeuvres included lobster rolls, mini duck tacos, and butter chick on small naan bread – all of which reflected us perfectly as a couple. I could go on and on about the food, but the SERVICE was impeccable. We had our own assigned served who anticipated and met our every need; she even comforted by 3 year old when she started to have a tantrum. This included bringing us a signature cocktail and hors d’oeuvres right after the ceremony, to getting me water while dancing the night away on the dance floor. My guests have been raving about the food since we had the wedding over a month ago! The best decision you will ever make is hiring Main Event!! The made the wedding unforgettable! -

With so many caterers to choose from, my husband and I know we made the RIGHT CHOICE with Main Event. We worked primarily with Spencer and Jackie, and they were a dream team who helped us realize our vision for a seasonal holiday wedding, complete with food that our guests RAVED about. One of our VIP guests emailed us after the wedding with this to say about the food: "Our dinner was amazing. Loved the salad and licked my plate to get every grit and crab cake...and the beef melted in my mouth! We had so much fun at our table and enjoyed every morsel!!!"
Also wanted to give a shout-out to the superb chefs, servers, and bartenders, especially the super nice lady who took such GOOD care of me and my husband during our wedding, making sure we had enough to eat and drink despite the whirwind of activity. From setup to breakdown, everything went SO smoothly. I can't recommend Main Event enough. You will not regret it! -

Overall, we had a really great experience. Alex at Toolbox (our venue) recommended us, and were particularly glad that they had worked with the venue before. Elyse in particular was really helpful in both the planning and the project wrangling, and we just had a lovely time with her and Lenore during the tasting. Everything about the day-of came together nicely and smoothly - the food was great (especially the appetizers and the ravioli), the decorations looked lovely, and the staff was helpful and professional. -

At the beginning of hiring them, we had some turnover with our catering manager, we were getting a bit nervous but they put one of their leads on our case, Courtney, so that she could assure us great service! Book them! The food is excellent. The staff is great. The service at our event was seamless. Our guests were very happy!
We had a terrific experience with Main Event from the first email, to the tasting, through the planning process, all the way to our wedding day.
I am vegan and my husband is not. When we began looking at caterers, we knew we needed to find someone who could do both -- and it all had to be delicious! Main Event did not disappoint.
For any vegan couples out there, Main Event worked with us to offer truly interesting dishes! No boring mushroom burgers or cauliflower steaks. We had vegan mushroom soup and ravioli and rissotto. We had a dessert table, and chef was able to make at least a handful of the dessert options vegan. It was all good! Even non-vegan guests enjoyed their dishes. Score!

We are so happy with Main Events. Catering is probably the biggest decision you will make for your wedding. We were in good hands with Main Events. They answered all of our questions throughout the process and worked with us every step of the way. Their staff is very friendly and most importantly, their food is amazing. As we walked around meeting guests, I saw that their plates were wiped clean! We worked with Liz Arline and she was really great and on top of everything. Everything was flawless! -

We’re so happy that we chose Main Event as our caterer. We’ve been in contact with Courtney and Liz as we went along with the planning and they are tremendous. We shopped around for wedding caterers but stopped as soon as we did a tasting with Main Event Caterers! The quality, taste and presentation was incredible! We literally liked everything on the menu. The Main Event Catering team are perhaps the most professional people we have ever worked with. From the initial proposal to the wedding itself, Main Event put their best foot forward and held nothing back in ensuring our wedding was as memorable and stress free as could be. Throughout the planning process, Main Event was responsive and detailed in response to all of our questions and ideas. We felt that Main Event could put nearly any idea we had in mind for food or rentals into action - and they did, especially with the donut wall we wanted for dessert! Main Event was extremely accommodating with dietary restrictions, and coordinated a beautiful tasting to help us decide our menu. At the event itself, Main Event was very receptive to ideas or last minute changes as we adjusted for weather. The Main Event Staff worked tirelessly outside in the pouring rain to ensure that our wedding was a memorable and enjoyable evening. Every server and staff member was pleasant and kind - some of the children in attendance made fast friends with one server in particular, who kept running in and out of the pouring rain to make them laugh! Liz and Michelle were both professional and more than we could have hoped for. -

We are so happy we chose Main Event to cater our wedding. The food was absolutely delicious. We received so many compliments from our guests who said they are used to wedding food being 'meh' but this food impressed them! I received such great service from the tasting to the actual wedding day and during the entire wedding planning process. I loved the server in charge of making sure the groom and I constantly had a drink in our hands :)Main Event Caterers's reply:

Anne Sent on 06/26/2018Main Event was recommended to us by our venue. I cannot sing their praises enough. They gave us a truly customized menu that spot on and absolutely delicious. We looked at multiple caterers, asking for appetizers that reflected my husband’s Asian heritage and palate, and most places offered us “Asian inspired” foods that were very inauthentic- like adding some mandarin oranges or dried ramen-type noodles on top of a salad. Main Event pulled out all the stops with pork buns and a sushi station (a HUGE hit at the wedding) that pleased even the relatives from Hong Kong. Our menu was totally personalized for our tastes, including recreating my sangria recipe. Everything was so delicious- our friends are still talking about how much they loved the food! Michelle was incredibly professional and accommodating, and worked hard to make sure my mother was happy and that everything went smoothly the day of. She even coordinated to have snacks and drinks brought to my husband and I after the ceremony. I can not recommend this caterer enough! -
Cc Sent on 06/19/2018Main Event was fantastic! We worked with Spencer as he had tons of experience catering weddings at our location (Torpedo Factory in Old Town Alexandria). We also worked with Alison, and both were quick to respond to our questions, super friendly, and helpful as we refined our menu. At the wedding, Main Event's Jack made sure everything went perfectly -- including that we had food waiting for my husband and me in a side room right after the ceremony. An additional thing we appreciated with Main Event was that we could supply our own alcohol, which allowed us to save a lot of money. I highly recommend Main Event!

Elisabeth Sent on 12/17/2017My husband and I hosted the September wedding of our daughter and her fiancee at Rockwood Manor in Potomac, MD. The food and service provided by Main Event Caterers was outstanding! They may not be the least expensive in the area but we felt that everything they did definitely was worth it. The staff was professional and very friendly and our guests could not stop talking about the presentation and taste of the vegetarian menu. We did plated and the bride and groom and all of us thought Main Event was a real good choice and a great memory. Thank you!

Ben Sent on 11/16/2017We hired them to cater a wedding of 160+ people and they did a phenomenal job. Food was one of the highest priority items for us and Main Events just knocked it out of the park. Also, did I mention that they had incredible vegetarian options and were very accommodating about dietary restrictions? Just amazing.
Everyone was astounded at the quality of food they were served. And almost just as important, their service was absolutely top notch. Would highly recommend them! -
