We toured many venues, and kept coming back to the Madrid as our number one choice. Missy was so personable, took the time to get to know us, and made us feel so at ease. To be honest, even if the venue wasn't as great as it is, we would have considered booking anyways just because of her! Thankfully it was the full package, awesome venue and fabulous staff! I can't imagine our big day anywhere else!

Beautiful Venue and Awesome Team!

I can't say enough about the Madrid. Missy and the team at the Madrid are simply, amazing! The space is beautiful and they will definitely help you host a night to remember. If you're looking for a memorable space to host your wedding or other event, you can't go wrong with the Madrid Theatre!

Madrid Theatre

I can't say enough good things about our experience with the Madrid, Missy and the entire staff! From our first meeting with Missy, up until our wedding day, she was an absolute pleasure to work with. During the planning process, she was extremely professional, detail oriented, organized, responsive and flexible. She also gave us great insight and suggestions for those finer details during the wedding that we would have never considered. She systemized COVID weddings to make planning during 2020 doable and helped us follow all the guidelines. Not only is the Madrid a beautiful venue, but you also get an experienced coordinator with it and that is priceless!

Great place for a band!

When searching for a wedding reception venue, we knew we wanted a band for our entertainment. After touring Madrid, there was no doubt we had found the perfect venue. Our reception was amazing— What a party!! If you are having a band at your wedding, you definitely need to use Madrid Theatre!

Great experience

Love this venue! Anytime we had questions, Madrid was very responsive. Even with Covid, Madrid went all out to make our guests feel safe at our wedding reception. We can’t stop talking about our reception. Definitely a five-star event!

Gorgeous Venue

Gorgeous venue! So happy we found Madrid. We did our first look on the beautiful stairs with the fountain and the pictures turned out amazing. Our wedding reception turned out better than we could have imagined. Thank you, Madrid Theatre!

Loved everything about Madrid Theatre! Our reception was so much fun and all our guests kept talking about how beautiful the building was.

Perfect!!!!!

So happy we picked the Madrid Theatre. Everything was absolutely perfect. Beautiful building, great location and great service. Their rental rates and bar packages were very reasonable. Definitely a five star venue.

Authentic and Historic Venue

When trying to decide on our wedding venue, my fiance and I were blown away by the interior at the Madrid. You can really tell that there is history there, from the intricate ceiling designs to the fountain when you first enter the lobby. It was also wonderful that we could have our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one location. Missy, the Madrid's event planner, made sure that everything ran smoothly and I didn't have a single concern the day of. I cannot recommend a venue more!

Madrid Theatre makes dreams come true!

Madrid was our dream wedding venue! It is beautiful, spacious, and has a lot of character. The coordinator, Missy, was the best part of the deal. Her expertise helped our wedding day come together so seamlessly. We can't thank the Madrid group enough!

Beautiful Space to Fit Up to 500 guest!

The Madrid Theatre was our wedding Venue and we couldn't be happier with the quality, service, and professionalism given to us! Missy was our wedding coordinator for the day and helped us up until the day and even after as we wrapped everything up! The space was perfect for our large guest list where we occupied both main floor and the upstairs! It has such a beautiful space were decor was very minimal on our end! We highly recommend this space for any future weddings!

Great wedding event space

When looking for a wedding venue we knew we were wanting a space with character. Madrid Theatre has it all...romantic, charming and historic. All of our guests had such a great time at our reception. Just wished the evening could have lasted longer!

Beautiful!

So happy we picked Madrid Theatre for our wedding reception. This place is stunning. They have a grand staircase with a fountain in their entryway that is beautiful. Their rental packages are a great value and our guests had a great time!

This venue was absolutely gorgeous! It was all that my daughter had dreamed of, for her special day. They are affordable and all inclusive which made for less stress on me with the planning process. Missy, the wedding coordinator did an outstanding job keeping everything flowing and on schedule. She was easy to work with and prompt to respond to emails. The venue was breathtaking, upon entering it, the night of the reception. The ornate decor and beautiful lighting added ambiance and we continue to receive compliments about the reception and the venue. I would highly recommend this venue, as it is truly stunning for weddings!

Loved Missy and the Madrid Theatre! The venue is unique which everyone loved and Missy was great! We planned our wedding remotely and she was very accommodating and helpful, responding to our emails in a timely manner and setting up times that worked for both us. We also did an Indian wedding and it worked very well!

Having our receptions at The Madrid Theatre was absolutely perfect. We looked at several venues, but knew this was the one when we walked in! The venue includes it all; tables, chairs, lights, center pieces and the best part, Missy!

Missy and her team made our planning and evening even better. From planning to the day of Missy was on top of it all. We felt like royalty at our reception, we were basically waited on and anything we needed was there!

We could not recommend The Madrid more!

Our wedding was the most spectacular day and it's SO much in thanks to Missy and the staff at The Madrid. It's so magical inside it's hard not to have an elegant night - the stage was perfect to have our ceremony & Missy worked with the band so their set up was easy as well. Missy's ability to work with us, our parents and every other vendor took all the stress off of us and allowed us to soak up the day. Missy checked in throughout the year leading up to the wedding and was quick to answer any of my questions (no matter how small) or meet with me when I was feeling nervous. During the wedding day Missy was on top of everything - constantly checking in to make sure we were good. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have an elegant and fun night.

We loved working with Missy at the Madrid. As an "out-of-town bride" she made the planning process really easy. I loved that you paid a set price per person for the venue. This made the day of stress free--I didn't need to worry if the bar was running low or if all the items were delivered on time. I love that the Madrid is elegant and also has some quirky features to it. All of our guests commented on how lovely the space was. A friend from Nashville said, "I wish we had a place like this there!" I loved being introduced from the stage, and it was the perfect space for a band! We did our cocktail hour up top and then had the guests move downstairs for dinner. Many guests commented on how well the entire reception flowed!

Our experience at the Madrid Theatre was absolutely phenomenal. The venue itself is so tasteful that you cannot believe your eyes. We knew this was the venue for us the moment we walked in. The fact that it includes drinks, tables, chairs, decorations, other miscellaneous items is a massive bonus. It leaves you more time to focus on what is important.

A huge bonus is that it comes with Missy! She is basically your wedding planner and helps you along the way. Missy corresponded with the florists, the caterer, the cake person, the band, etc. She does it all! I never felt stressed because she was always throwing in and helping. The big day comes and she is available to open up the venue and let you drop off supplies. I went by multiple times to leave stuff for the wedding so she could set it up. Just amazing. The venue was stunning for our reception and the drinks were flowing. Everything was just right. The lighting was beautiful and the decor was fantastic. Wedding planning is a lot of work but the reception was so awesome it made it worth it. YOU WANT YOUR WEDDING AT THE MADRID. You even get a cool marquee for your big day. You basically get to have your own concert on your wedding day. HOW AWESOME IS THAT.

The price is fantastic and there are multiple options for every budget. You can do just beer and wine or you can ball out and go top shelf. Missy is so helpful at narrowing down the contract and getting to the final dollars. She is really responsive and helpful. Other venues nickel and dime you. At the Madrid, it is in one and done!

The Madrid Theatre is so beautiful inside! Great upstairs for cocktail hour, great space for a buffet, beautiful entry way with a wonderful fountain in the staircase! The stage is wonderful as well. We didn’t actually use it, but it would be perfect for a live band. We did use the red curtain to project our GOBO and it was so perfect! I could go on about how wonderful the madrid is. But the best part about the Madrid Theatre is Missy! She is there to do whatever you need. She is super attentive and pays close attention to detail. She knows all the ins and outs of the Madrid Theatre. She is also a Wedding planner, she sees everything and notices everything and was such an amazing help. When you book the Madrid you get Missys services, you can also hire her for more help. We had her come to our reherarsal and ceremony and do a few extra things for us. It was great to have her there knowing we could rely on her and she would be there to fix any issues that arose. Gave me such piece of mind as a Bride. Book the Madrid Theatre for its beauty and for missy!

We could not have asked for a more beautiful venue than The Madrid Theatre. It was the very first place we looked -- and we knew the moment we walked in, that this was it! From the early stages of planning, up to the very last detail, Missy was incredible. We had our ceremony and reception here, and the flow between the ceremony, to the cocktail hour and flip for the reception was seamless! We utilized the stage with a great band, used the grand staircase for family photos, and the guests never had a wait for a drink at the beautiful Spanish bars. All of our guests said they wanted to all get married again, and use this event space! Missy and the staff were just the absolute best to work with! I highly recommend this venue, and Missy to anyone wanting that beautiful, perfect wedding day.

I had my wedding reception at Madrid Theatre in October and it was amazing! The venue was beautiful and had more than enough room for the 250 guests that attended. Missy (event coordinator) was so fun to work with and made the whole process so easy. Even guests at my reception made comments about how well organized and on top of everything Missy was. She contacted every vendor for us and made sure everything was delivered on time and set up prior to our event. I would and will recommend the Madrid to anyone who is looking to have their wedding ceremony and/or reception in Kansas City (any type of event for that matter!).

Well, we are still smiling and hearing compliments from so many on our son and daughter in laws wedding reception at Madrid.
It is every parents dream to give their children the wedding celebration of their dreams... Our dream came true this past weekend and it is largely because of the Madrid venue, Missy and staff.
We began our planning months ago with Missy and her coordination, professional and detailed organization was phenomenal. She is so very calming, attentive, conscientious and experienced. The wedding reception celebration success was largely due to her!!!
More thank you's go out to the Madrid owners and staff – who were all working their tails off throughout the whole day making sure that everything was perfect. The attention to direction and detail was so appreciated.
The day would not have been so perfect without the Madrid. With a tear in my eye, a smile on my face and a lump in my throat - thank you for everything that you did to make the wedding so amazing and memorable for all of us.

We had our daughter’s wedding reception at The Madrid Theater last month and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. From the first meeting with Missy, the event coordinator, to the event itself, I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

We could tell the moment we met Missy that she was going to be professional, fun to work with, and very helpful. While other venues told us that we would definitely need to hire a wedding planner, Missy explained that if we held the wedding at The Madrid she would be available to help us plan the reception and would be there the day of the wedding to make sure everything ran smoothly. She did an amazing job! We’re so happy that we chose to have the wedding reception there!

The venue is beautiful, especially at night. The gleaming wood floor and white lights around the balcony made it look elegant and almost magical. And they have an inventory of possible table centerpiece item you can use for free—that was an added bonus that we took advantage of.

You definitely owe it to yourself to check out The Madrid Theatre for your wedding.

Outstanding and magical!! Those are the first two words that come to mind when I think of my experience with Missy & the Madrid Theatre. I was planning a wedding for ~300 people from Texas, and I had so many bouts of nervousness, hesitation, questioning my planning decisions, etc. Missy was so kind and understanding throughout the entire process. Although I chose to use a wedding planner, Missy is truly on top of things and can handle everything at the reception space if you chose not to use a planner! In my case, she worked closely with my wedding planner to make sure everything was perfection for our wedding day. I was only in Kansas City a handful of times, so our meetings were at the mercy of my travel schedule -- she was always flexible and always made it work for me to come to the space and work through things, even if she was in the middle of setting up for another event!! The day of, the Madrid was STUNNING! It is such a unique space and honestly, I had my own hesitations throughout planning because seeing it empty for a concert, perhaps, does not do justice to the transformation that happens when Missy & her magical team get to work. I heard our guests chattering all night about how special, unique and beautiful the space was. We easily fit a wedding of 290 comfortably, with plenty of space for dance floor, photo booth, cocktail space, buffets, etc. I cannot say enough good things about Missy & The Madrid and I would recommend it to anybody for a unique, romantic, theatre atmosphere.

Thank you Missy and the owners of The Madrid for a magical evening on 09/16/2017. Having begun the journey of finding a venue in July of 2016, and with my daughter living out of town, there were multiple visits to The Madrid and many many many many conversations in those 14 months. Missy was by far catalyst in making sure everything was smooth sailing from start to finish. Anything we thought was an "issue" or made us nervous, Missy calmly and collectively resolved. She made suggestions but was always open to our ideas. She had beautiful pieces for us to use at the reception as well to make it absolutely beautiful She is a joy to work with and always had a smile on her face and was easy accessible when we needed to sneak by the venue for another look, photograph "Save the Date" pictures or have a phone conversation. May I also add here that the venue was always clean and never smelled bad or looked cluttered. From start to finish Missy represented this venue in a professional, efficient and friendly manner and I just want to say a huge thank you to her and her staff. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners on several visits there as well and they always introduce themselves and engage in conversation with big smiles, stories and pride in this building that they have lovingly maintained and preserved. Missy, I hope you are able to use some of Jaclyn and Ben's pictures on your website because they beautifully depicted the essence of this space. On a side note, one of the reasons we looked at The Madrid was because my daughter and her fiance wanted a band and it was the PERFECT venue for the band. Acoustically it is brilliant!!! Thank you again for making the finale of Jaclyn and Ben's day more than they could have ever dreamed of.

I would highly recommend The Madrid to anyone. We booked them in Feb 2016 for our Memorial Day weekend 2017 wedding. I never felt forgotten about and pushed aside. Missy is a great wedding coordinator from the day you book to when you walk down the aisle. We had our ceremony and reception here and they made the transition so easy.

My daughter's wedding was spectacular. I envisioned it exactly how it played out. We wanted a huge joyful eventful, filled with friends and family with a lot of love going around. Everyone had a blast. The food was great, the staff was professional and handled everything. I recommend The Madrid for any event. You are in such great hands.

We hosted our wedding reception at the Madrid in May 2017. We would recommend every couple host their reception at this venue. You will be impressed with the beautiful theatre and service!

The first time we saw the Madrid, we knew that it would be perfect for our reception. My husband works in the movie industry in LA, and it was very special for us to host our wedding in a historic silent movie theatre from the 1920’s. The interior is beautiful, with a gorgeous staircase and lots of gold accents. The theatre is glamorous, romantic, and vintage all at the same time.

Missy was amazing to work with and helped me with all of the details and with finalizing my timeline. I appreciated how I was able to drop off my centerpieces and the staff did all the setup before our reception, and clean-up after our reception was finished.

We had about 130 guests, and I had several friends comment on how they loved the cocktail hour upstairs on the balcony overlooking the main dining area. Between the gold chivari chairs and gold chargers, the dining room looked stunning. Our photographer and videographer got some amazing shots outside the theatre at night with the marquee.

The Madrid was a great value and saved us on our budget because we didn’t have the expense of a day-of-coordinator, and we saved on décor because we used their glassware. The Madrid delivered an amazing event for us. We would recommend that you take a tour of this gorgeous venue and see it for yourself!

How do I even begin to put in words how incredible my experience was with Madrid and Missy?! I recently had my wedding reception at the Madrid Theater on May 20th and it was truly such a dream. I remember standing behind the red curtains on the stage, waiting to get announced along side my husband and wedding party, and peeking through the curtains... What I saw actually blew me away. There was this glow in the room and everything had come together even better than I had planned. Missy went above and beyond and made my wedding image come to life. It was the most beautiful reception I had ever seen, even better filled with all my family and friends. During the reception Missy was always on top of things. She helped keep the reception on track and made sure we knew when it was first dance time, cake cutting time, bouquet toss, ect. The way she helps make it flow is just flawless. She will make it exactly how you want it, no matter what. She is willing to meet as many times as you need to make sure it is how you want it to be; she is very flexible!!! I cannot name ONE THING that went wrong that evening. It was the most perfect day of my life and Missy and the Madrid helped make that happen. If you are looking for a wedding ceremony/reception venue that will be all that you ever dreamed of, Madrid Theater is the place for you!!

Meet with Missy! Missy's comprehensive overview of the venue and services offered is unparalleled. We met with many venues looking for the right fit that matched our personalities, budget, and vision. It has to be said that we also looked for a venue that didn't blink when two men walked in the door. I would love to say that this didn't happen in Kansas City, but we encountered that from venues around town. The Madrid is a gorgeous venue that offers so much more than other venues. They were able to accommodate the size of our wedding, just over 500, and there staff made Phil and I, as well as our guests feel special. Missy's assistance, advice, and personal touch made the event that much better. It is evident that the owners of the Madrid are proud of their space and want to provide a magical experience at an amazing, and unrivaled value. Bravo to the Madrid!!

While searching for a wedding venue, I toured multiple event spaces and it seemed that many of these spaces were either difficult to contact, had confusing pricing options, didn't have flexibility in the vendors I could use, etc. Fortunately I found the Madrid Theatre. Madrid made it very easy to plan my reception while offering a beautiful venue that fit right into my budget! Our only regret is that we did not rent this space for more event time, we never wanted the night to end.

We had our wedding at the Madrid Theatre. This place is beautiful and the service we received was the best! We had about 400 guests. The parking was absolutely no problem at all as the venue has several parking lots and lots of on street parking. My guests really loved the balcony with the extra seating and it also gave them a great view of the dance floor festivities. Missy was so patient and helpful and she was always very quick in responding to any questions. Madrid Theatre is the best!

The Madrid Theatre is magical and I could not have picked a better place to get married. The domed ceilings, entryway fountain and double staircase are beautiful. We loved shooting our wedding photos in the Madrid. We worked with the event manager, Missy. She is attentive, helpful and very responsive to questions. She worked with us regarding our schedule, budget and decor while offering valuable feedback, helpful tips and recommendations. Needless to say, our wedding was magical, easy, stress-free and most importantly...FUN! My husband and I feel proud of our wedding. I give Madrid Theatre my highest recommendation!

We first visited the Madrid Theatre soon after our engagement. We booked our reception the first time we visited! We used the balcony level for a cocktail reception before everyone went downstairs to the main level for dinner and dancing. We were very happy there was an elevator, which was very helpful for our less mobile guests, as well as restrooms on both floors (some spaces we looked at didn't have the bathrooms so well distributed). Our wedding day was absolutely perfect! If Madrid Theatre is on your list for possible venues then drop the others and go with the Madrid Theatre!

If you are looking for a beautiful venue, amazing service, and stress free planning, this is the place to go. We had our wedding here in May and it was absolutely perfect! We fell in love with the Madrid Theatre the second we walked into the building. The wedding coordinator Missy, and the bartenders and all the staff were amazing and were all willing to help in any way possible to make our wedding day unforgettable!

Without hesitation I would recommend The Madrid as the ideal venue for a wedding. We held my daughter's wedding ceremony and reception there in November 2013. I can honestly say there is not even one tiny negative thing that comes to mind when I think back over the entire preparation process and actual evening of the event. The Madrid is just a beautifully constructed space both in its layout and decor. The lovely split staircase and fountain when you enter (which becomes even more stunning with lights lining the steps and candles burning around the fountain) makes such a great first impression -- to the point of hearing "wow!" from many guests as they entered. The versatility of being able to move between the nicely appointed balcony area (horseshoe-shaped and lined with tables) and the lower level is an added bonus. Aside from being a great place for guests to move to while the main floor was transformed from the ceremony setup into a dining room, it offers extra room for guests to spread out during the evening and acted as a perfect spot for anyone who may have wanted different dinner seating arrangements than we offered (plus people who showed up without RSVPing). As an added bonus: there is a variety of glass vases/candleholders, easels, and other things that can be borrowed for decoration purposes. The only thing better than the theatre itself, was MISSY! She is a dream to work with--so incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, flexible, and professional. Her suggestions and insight into whatever our perplexity might have been were always right on. She was easy to get hold of, responsive, very pleasant, easy going and stepped right in to coordinate with vendors (who also love working with her). We were in awe of her from the beginning and she never let us down. So if you’re looking for a fantastically memorable venue that you and your guests will talk about for years to come, put the Madrid Theatre at the top of your list.

I can hardly find the words to describe how amazing the Madrid Theatre is! We are so happy that we chose this venue for our wedding reception! The overall experience still has our guests talking about how beautiful everything was, even a month afterwards! Missy was an absolute delight to work with. I planned my wedding long distance from Dallas and Missy made the process so simple and fun. She was very professional, responsive and made things so easy on me. Anytime I was coming into town for a weekend she would re arrange her schedule to make sure I could fit my meeting in. She took care of absolutely everything on my wedding day and made the process smooth for not only me but for all of my vendors as well. Working with Missy Dibble, while planning our daughters wedding reception at the Madrid, was an amazing experience. There was absolutely no stress through the entire process. We love the facilities at the Madrid. My family and friends celebrated my 65th Birthday and 41 years of service to the Adult Basic Education Program. Missy was great to work with. She provided needed advise that resulted in a beautifully decorated theater which had an atmosphere of elegance. This place is a jewel tucked away in the middle of the city.

You won't go wrong no matter what the occasion is for your celebration.

It created a once in a lifetime experience for me.

Amazing wedding venue!!

We held our wedding reception and the Madrid Theatre and it was the most amazing night! The atmosphere is so romantic and unique. We got so many compliments from our guests on how much they loved the venue. We loved having the balcony area to use for the cocktail hour. The bartenders were awesome. Our guests rarely had to wait for a drink. The staff at Madrid was amazing. Missy was so helpful with planning the event and helping it to run smoothly. Her organization and attention to detail were incredibly helpful!! We would get married here again in a heartbeat!

Picking Madrid as our reception venue was pretty easy. The theatre is beautiful and Missy the wedding coordinator is wonderful! She was easy to communicate with and did a wonderful job helping us plan the perfect wedding reception for our day. Guests loved the venue and of course the open bar! I've always loved the Madrid Theater and it's location was ideal for out of town guests (close to hotels with shuttle transportation and very central). The Madrid uses Missy of White Lily Events as the coordinator, and I could not have done the wedding without her.

The Madrid itself is a beautiful venue and I was able to have my ceremony and reception in the same place, which was what we'd hoped to do. The upstairs bar area provides a place for guests to go while they flip the room (45 - 1 hr). The space was beautiful and we got lots of compliments. It's large enough to accommodate a large party, but it also doesn't feel too large for someone who had a smaller party size.

The space provides linens of different colors, tables and chairs (though we wanted different ones so we rented). I highly recommend using a place that has these on hand instead of having to rent them. Just another thing to coordinate, and I don't think there is any savings.

They have all inclusive packages as well as 'a la carte' ones. We went a la carte, finding our own caterer and providing our own liquor. They do have bartenders to use, who did a great job. The security staff was also great. We had guests tell us they had good interactions and they would walk single guests to cars.

Beautiful space for the wedding and reception. Great staff to help the night go off without a problem.

We were very pleased with the facility, the staff and everything about the Madrid for our daughter's wedding. Guests continue to talk about what a great venue it was and the atmosphere that it imparted. Missy was great to work with and all of their hard work and effort made it easy for me as Mother of the Bride to actually enjoy the evening.

We loved our wedding venue and working with Missy Dibble. She was extremely flexible and took care of everything for us on the day of so that we did not have to worry about anything. We were able to visit the venue many times during our engagement and taste catering. This really helped with planning our event. The venue is beautiful and was the perfect location for us.

The Madrid was a beautiful event space and all of our guests seemed impressed and enjoyed the space immensely! Missy was good to work with and they took care of a lot of the little details like serving cake and bussing tables. All in all, it was a really positive experience!

We absolutely loved this venue. It is beautiful, and we had so many compliments about what a neat place it was. Missy served as the day of coordinator and did all of the decorations (after I gave her the things to decorate with). It was a little hard to get in touch with her some times, but she came through when it was important. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone.

The Madrid Theatre did an excellent job of attending to our needs. Missy, their on-site coordinator, met with us several times to discuss our ideas and make sure everyone was on the same page. They were willing to alter the standard menus and didn't pressure us to make decisions on their schedule instead of our own. They also were willing to work with my husband, a former lighting designer, on the lights for the ceremony--a huge plus! It's a beautiful venue--be sure to book well in advance! We were lucky to get them--we hear they are one of the most sought after venues in the area.

The only suggestion I would make to the Madrid is to send out payment reminder emails before the payments are due. The payment schedule was a bit unclear and reminders would have been helpful.
