flexible & communicative - turned out awesome!

Really great service! Made myself and my bridal party feel beautiful! I went into the trial not really know what I wanted to do with my hair and was able to use the time to get a feel for what I wanted. Day of hair turned out perfect! They also worked with me when I changed the style of makeup I wanted after my trial and the day of it ended up better than I could have imagined! Thank you so much for the flexibility and expertise to make me feel awesome for my wedding!

Highly recommed - wonderful team & incredible service

Gretchen and her team OUTDID themselves leading up to and on my wedding day. Gretchen was an absolute pleasure to work with; she is super punctual, communicative and a true professional.

On the wedding day the Love Crush Beauty staff was all timely, super talented and loved by all my friends and family. We had 5 team members come. Every single bridesmaid that had gotten hair and/or makeup done said they were blown away with the services they received. The team listens to exactly what look you are going for, whether you want glam or natural. You can't always make everyone happy but with Love Crush Beauty I promise everyone will be more than happy! Everyone looked incredible, hair and makeup lasted the ENTIRE night (Started at 9am and stayed up until 6am partying!)

Wonderful experience!

The Love Crush Beauty team is fabulous! From the initial wedding hair/makeup trial, to having to postpone the wedding, to making me feel so beautiful on my wedding day, Gretchen was not only super accommodating, but was also extremely kind, responsive, and so talented! She did my hair and makeup EXACTLY how I envisioned it, and it lasted all night! The rest of her team was also amazing - very friendly, professional, and they all did an amazing job. All my bridesmaids and both moms were so happy with how they looked, and everyone's hair and makeup lasted the entire night, through sweat and (happy) tears. And on top of all that amazing work, they are very reasonably priced, especially compared to other similar vendors in the Long Island area. I highly highly recommend them.

I felt gorgeous

Gretchen and her team were a calming presence the morning of my wedding. They were complete professionals and knew exactly what they were doing during our VERY early morning hair and makeup session. With my mother having spent this past year battling and beating ovarian cancer, she was concerned that she wouldn’t feel beautiful for our wedding. But Gretchen and her team made my mother feel absolutely beautiful, they took the time to expertly apply lashes, and makeup, and no one could tell she was wearing a wig that day. She didn't look sick at all and looked beautiful and vibrant! Making sure my mom felt gorgeous was a top priority for me on my wedding day and they absolutely succeeded in doing just that. My only advice would be to make sure you schedule enough time for getting ready...don’t want to feel rushed and anxious.

Everyone looked amazing!

Gretchen and her team did such an amazing job! We were all so happy with how our hair and makeup turned out, and for me, seeing everyone in their final look is really what made it all seem so real!!! Getting your hair and makeup done is such a fun and important part of the specialness of the day, and that’s exactly how Gretchen made me feel! Her and her team were right on time and had everyone’s hair/makeup scheduled out in order to make sure we were done and ready for the photographers. The whole morning was seamless and everyone looked perfect! So if you want to feel beautiful, and confident, and relaxed (as much as you can be) then you should definitely hire Love Crush Beauty!

Gretchen and her team are great to work with

Gretchen and her team were great! I have to say I was a little nervous and pestered Gretchen with questions leading up to the wedding day, but she was super patient and willing to do what needed to be done to make my day easy and me comfortable. I really appreciated her flexibility and her work was amazing!! It was 84 degrees and very humid out. My makeup stayed all day and so did my curls!

Special shout out to Shani who also did some great work on my mom and sister!

LoveCrushBeauty really knows what they’re doing and it was a plus that they offered both hair and makeup for one stop shopping!

I had take the time to express how incredible Gretchen and her team is. One of my concerns on my wedding day was for everything to be done on time and to not be late to the venue (wedding was at 6:30pm so there was no reason for it). I've been a part of my fair share of weddings and have seen how disastrous it could be! (like 10 girls to one stylist YIKES!) Gretchen and her team were very patient and listened to every girl and worked in a professional but relaxed manner and finished all 8 of us within the time frame to the minute! There pricing was the best in all the research I had done plus included false lashes which all the girls loved! Our hair and makeup, especially mine, lasted all night and everyone could not stop talking about them! Thank you so much! I will be sure to recommend you to anyone and everyone!!

This team is great! The power went out on my wedding day and they still got the job done. My sister wanted her hair styled with no heat and they were able to do a beautiful style. They can handle anything and I had a large amount of services for that day. Below is what I wrote to Gretchen and her team who serviced my wedding April 6 2018:

I want to start of by saying thank you so much for everything you and your wonderful team did for my wedding. All the bridesmaids and family members that did their hair, makeup, or both stated that this was the BEST service they ever received and I agree. My bridesmaids had diverse hair types and each of you were able to style their hair exactly how they wanted. One feedback I was provided with is that the person showed a photo of only the front view of the hairstyle she wanted and you ladies were able to do the exact same style in the front with a beautiful style in the back that complimented the hairstyle. Makeup wise, we all used the airbrush makeup and it lasted through all the tears the day of. At the end of each service you each were open to feedback in asking whether or not they wanted any changes in their hair and/or makeup.
In the hotel, the power went out! Any other bride would have went into complete panic mode when that happened, but I did not because I was confident in you and your team. Everyone on your team was so calm and composed while this was happening. If I recall correctly, the power was out for at least 30-40 minutes and your team still managed to get 14 hair services and 8 makeup services done before the time I requested. From the makeup trial to the wedding, there is no other team I wanted to be with on my wedding day. Thank you so much! I don't think there are enough words to explain my gratitude. I was so happy to be with such a professional and agile team that day and I would recommend you to any bride that asks me. Great service at such a great price as well. Hopefully work with you soon

Gretchen did my bridal makeup, she was awesome. Airbrush is including in all makeup prices. It held up well into the next day! She had two other beauticians do my bridesmaids hair and makeup. Everything came out gorgeous! I highly recommend and very reasonably priced!

Gina, Raisa, Shani, Lucia, & Sheri were absolutely amazing on my wedding day! They even had to trek through the snow to get to my 12/30/17 wedding and they all made it on-time and without complaining. We had so much fun getting ready and just hanging out in the morning of the wedding. They finished all of us in a timely matter! We had 9 people and then myself(the Bride). Everyone was thrilled with how we looked. I cried a bunch of times and so did my whole family and bridal party and our make up stayed perfect! Thank you so much!

Gretchen and her team worked on my 9/9/17 wedding. Her entire team was absolutely fantastic, kept everyone on schedule and all of my bridesmaids hair came out beautiful.
Gretchen worked directly on my hair and makeup and from trial to day of, she was attentive, always answered all my questions in a timely manner and was a pleasure to work with. My hair and make up was flawless and it held up ALL night, through tons of dancing.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Gretchen and her team. From the first time I contacted Gretchen regarding hair and make-up for my wedding she was so helpful and accommodating. She was extremely responsive to emails, calls and texts which made the planning process so much easier! After my hair and make-up came out beautiful at the trial I booked her on the spot. Not only is Gretchen extremely talented, but her calm and caring demeanor is exactly what you will want on the day of your wedding. Gretchen and her team traveled to provide services at the hotel near our wedding venue. Gretchen and the three other hair/make-up artists were extremely professional, friendly, accommodating and talented! They arrived on time and were extremely efficient in providing services for myself and 9 other ladies. First off- let me start by saying I am absolutely not a girly girl by any means. So make up and hair is totally not my thing. And every time I have gotten my make up (especially) done I absolutely hate it every single time I leave. 100% of the time when I get home I wash it off and put on my own. Which led me to strongly believe that for my wedding I was going to be doing my own. I went for a few trials with other make up artists before finding Gretchen as well. I even booked with one other one (NOT gretchen) because I really just thought that when you get your make up done you are just going to look like a cake face. It never sat well with me that I booked with that other lady so after a little back and forth I got my money back. I said to myself I am going to just do ONE more trial (after my now husband begged me not to do and just to do it myself). Well- I am so glad I did go for that last trial because this is when I found Gretchen. I learned that no you are actually not supposed to look like you have pounds of make up on and when you go to a women with some serious experience you leave looking the way you imagined you would. Gretchen and her whole time wow-ed one tough group of girls. I was nervous there was going to be complaining- but literally not one girl had a complaint and every one felt gorgeous which truly showed in the pictures. When you FEEL beautiful you look beautiful. Save the time shopping around and wasting money on trials- because I did- and just go to Gretchen. Her and her whole team, so professional, punctual, fun, talented and overall just great. As the bride I used Gretchen and I had numerous photo shoots with my photographer (engagement and boudoir, and obviously wedding) and each time I left I looked awesome. I really felt it too. My hair looked exactly the way I wanted it and I have some seriously difficult hair to work with. I am telling you- show this women a picture and when you leave you will look like the picture!

Gretchen and her assistant did an awesome job with our hair and makeup. She was very organized and timely. She really did exactly what I had asked--and without any trial (as I did not have time!). I felt very beautiful on the day and she really did an incredible job and would book her again if I could or needed to!

Only nit picky thing was that we were ready VERY early (almost 1.5 hrs) due to scheduling--and it all felt a little bit rushed, just to wait around. I was in my dress and couldn't really leave the room without everyone seeing me--so I wish that it had not been so regimented, but it was better to be ready early than late! Perhaps if I had planned better to be getting ready in another room--I wouldn't have felt that way!

I used M.A.L.I. for my wedding make-up on March 12. Loved, loved, loved working with Gretchen!!!! I contacted her after reading rave reviews, and the reviews were right. She was such a delight!!! Sweet, professional, and talented. The trial went extremely well, and I knew I wanted to book her that day. My mother also had a trial and Gretchen did a wonderful job. The day of the wedding, she did my make-up, my mother's and my four bridesmaids. Everyone was extremely happy with the final product. She took the time to listen to what everyone wanted. My make-up was absolutely beautiful, and lasted the whole night. I highly recommend Gretchen and I am grateful that I chose her!!!!

I booked Gretchen for my wedding and thank goodness I found her!!! I needed hair and makeup for not only myself but my entire bridal party which consisted of 8 girls. I had such a hard time finding an artist who could do African American hair so when Gretchen told me she wouldn't have a problem doing my hair I did not hesitate to book a trial with her. She did my hair and airbrush makeup in no time and for the first time I felt at peace regarding my wedding day beauty. I picked out a few different hairstyles on pintrest and we went through them to pick the perfect hairstyle to compliment my face as well as my dress. The morning of the wedding she showed up with her assistant and wasted no time! these ladies got down to business and before i knew it we were all dolled up and ready to go!! I didn't fell like my hair wouldn't last day or my makeup and I didn't feel like my makeup was caked on. It felt really light and natural. Her prices are really fair to the point that I was able to pay for all of my girls to have their makeup done as part of their bridesmaid gifts. Thank you Gretchen for being so responsive and professional and for making us all look our best on such an important day.

I highly recommend Gretchen Marie if you are looking for a hairstylist for your wedding. I had a trial prior to Gretchen and I was dissatisfied. After my trial with Gretchen, I was so satisfied with her work that I booked her for my wedding day immediately. Gretchen was able to replicate the look I had chosen brilliantly. My hair was picture perfect and stayed very well throughout the night and even to the next day. My hair was perfect for my big day and I felt beautiful.
Gretchen is personable, punctual and professional with her work. Thank you so much for making me look like a princess on the day I imagined since a little girl. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend her!!!! You would be happy too!

I had already booked a hair and makeup artist for my wedding, but they were not available for my engagement shoot (as I decided I wanted professional hair and makeup for it last minute). I scrambled around looking for someone on Long Island where my shoot was. After several disappointments I finally found Gretchen, who graciously agreed to do my hair and makeup for me last minute. She was such a pleasure to work with, and she did an amazing job on both my makeup and hair (not easy to find someone who does both equally well!). She was very professional (while also being fun to chat with), worked efficiently, and was very knowledgable as to how much time it would take, and she was kind enough to also give me advice on my wedding day timeline (even though she knew I had already booked other professionals for that day). I highly recommend her for any bride!!

Gretchen and her team did the make up and hair for my daytime wedding at Giorgio's on 10/12/14 and they were AMAZING!!!! Gretchen is so sweet and a pleasure to work with. She was very helpful during the consultation and was able to give concrete advice as to what would look great based on the type of look I told her I wanted. I was worried about finding someone to do hair and make up because my wedding was so far out east and pretty early but Gretchen and her team came to my hotel and made everything work. She and her team showed up the morning of my wedding right on time (they were really troopers, it was 4:45am!) and kept the flow of work going steady. Throughout wedding planning I always worried that my hair and make up would run way over my time constraints since I had such a large bridal party but everything went perfect! It was by far the BEST make up and hair I have ever seen at a formal event, and I'm not just saying that because it was my wedding! Everyone looked beautiful and glamorous and the amount of application was perfect - no one looked plastic or overdone (which I have seen at some weddings). The team was really awesome with working with the colors people wanted as well as the type of look they wanted - some people wanted a more natural look and the team did great with this. My mom was worried about her hair because it's fairly short and the hair artist did a wonderful job, creating a really nice style that perfectly incorporated her hair accessory. Even my sister who NEVER wears make up couldn't stop looking at herself in the mirror! I got so many compliments on my hair and make up the day of my wedding and everything looked amazing in my pictures. I am so happy and grateful to Gretchen and her team for helping my bridal party and I to look and feel gorgeous on my wedding day. Gretchen is amazing! I had lost my makeup artist just a month before my wedding and had done a few trials before finding Gretchen but after searching through wedding wire I was able to find MALI, and they did not disappoint. She had set me up with Sherri who was so awesome! She was so helpful and did such an amazing job on myself and all of my bridal party. They were so professional and wanted to help me as best as possible and made it so easy for me, I really didn't worry at any point that anything would go wrong. Sherri was very communicative she even helped me find great makeup for my skin type. If you decide to use this company look no further you are in great hands!

I have nothing but great things to say about Gretchen and her team. She is truly a professional. Gretchen did my hair for my wedding day and my bridesmaids' hair/makeup. Gretchen is punctual and professional. The morning of the wedding I was not anticipating how nervous I was going to be. I felt nauseous because of my nerves and was SO unorganized! Gretchen stayed professional and even helped me calm down a little! A couple of my bridesmaids were late (which caused me to stress!), but Gretchen and her team worked quickly and efficiently to get the job done.

My experience with Gretchen has been amazing. The first time I used her was in 2010 as a Bridesmaid for my best friends wedding. When I saw my reflection on that day, I knew that Gretchen would be the one to do my Wedding - no question.

When I got engaged, Gretchen was one of the first services I was able to book! I knew she was the only Artist I would allow to do my make-up, and some of my bridesmaids felt the same way.

For my July 4th wedding, Gretchen and her team were early on a really early start time (5:30am) and professional. We ordered 13 services, and this team moved like no other. EVERYONE was happy with their hair and make up.

We decided to do a destination wedding in NYC, and nearly everything was planned remotely. I'm not from NY and none of my girls are either, so we had to do our research and hope for the best on most things. Gretchen far exceeded any expectations I might have had for any of the vendors.

Professionally, she nails it. I appreciated how clearly everything was laid out in the contract and in her day-of itinerary. She was on time (early even) and kept us on schedule without us ever feeling like we were on a schedule. Her policies are very clear and purposeful, which I enjoyed having all those details settled ahead of time.

As far as talent, she has it. I felt through the planning process that many of the wedding vendors have pre-fabricated ideas that somehow they try to sell you as your own authentic wedding vision. Gretchen doesn't sell. She listens. She truly hears what you're envisioning. Then she produces on the concept. I was very pleased with how well she created my vision without ever having met me.

As for quality, she delivered that too. We went to Gantry Park after the ceremony for our pictures only to find ourselves in the middle of a downpour. We were able to get out of the rain without getting soggy. My hair is naturally curly and defaults to frizz on most dry days. After the photo session, I only looked a little wind-tossed, but my MOH was able to touch it up before the reception with just a bit of hairspray. Makeup stayed in place with no under-eye mess after crying and rain and receiving line hugs and all of it. I think we all look really good in the reception pictures, and you can't even tell we were out in the weather.

I went to about 3 trials before I went to Gretchen. She by far and away was the most impressive. I loved how she did my hair and makeup, giving me excellent advice for my makeup and hair.

She spent HOURS with me for just the trial! She even offered to drive me back to the train! I had come out from the city, and it was so amazing and thoughtful.

She does hair and makeup and has a team. I hired her to do my hair and makeup and hair and makeup for the moms and most of my bridal party.

She arrived right on time, early in the morning for our 2pm wedding. We were doing all hair and makeup in the bridal suite, which worked out well.

As soon as I got up that morning, I began having a mini meltdown and became a little unglued. Looking back it was so funny, after 2 years of planning, I suddenly got the jitters big time. The first thing I said to Gretchen when she arrived was, “I don’t think I can do this today!” She just said, go lie back down and rest, we will take care of everything. Sure enough, they got to work, my girls came in one by one to get their work done and I rested for a few minutes. (and said my rosary!) Soon I was up and just fine.

Gretchen was so friendly, everyone liked her and the work was great. Our hair and makeup held up really well, even though some of our styles were complicated.

Since my wedding, I have really gotten into having my makeup done for special events because of my good experience with Gretchen and if we lived on the Island I would go to her all the time!
MALI was about the best price wise of all that I tried, and it was so convenient to have an artist who did both.

Gretchen did an amazing and beautiful job of hair and makeup! My hair and makeup stayed perfect through a very hot limo ride, a very cold and snowy outdoors photo session, and throughout hours of hugging people and dancing. I got so many compliments on how beautiful and elegant my hairstyle was, and also how "me" it was. Between the makeup/hair trial and my actual wedding i had some ideas of minor changes I wanted, and Gretchen was so flexible and supportive and really took her time with me while I figured out how to put what I was imagining into words. I actually struggled to describe it but somehow she just seemed to know exactly what I was going for! The curls she created stayed in place and did not fall flat at all through the night, yet still managed to have movement! This was important to me because I don't like a robotic look- I wanted to look real. On the day of the wedding I had completely overlooked selecting a hair comb or accessory, but Gretchen came to the rescue when she pulled out delicate and gorgeous pearly pins from her bag to add to my half up half down look. Gretchen has a really calm and friendly demeanor which was critical during times when any bride could get a little nervous or stressed. Gretchen also gave a lot of good advice like when she said how important it was to start early to give some wiggle room, and also when she suggested that as the bride i did not get my makeup and hair done last. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Gretchen and her team!

I recently just had my wedding this past weekend October 19, 2013 and used Gretchen Marie and her team, Shannon, Sheri and Stacy to do hair and makeup for my bridal party. I had a bridal party consisting of 13 girls, meaning lots of services and being pressed for time to make pictures.

Throughout the entire process Gretchen was extremely accomodating with me the entire way, to make sure everything the day of went seamless. She was extremely flexible and together we came up with a schedule that would work best for the amount of girls I had.

Each bridesmaid was given full face make up and eye lash extensions included, as well as, an amazing hairstyle. Not one bridesmaid was unhappy with the way that they looked, and I must say they each came out beyond stunning.

I could not have been happier working with Gretchen and her girls, they were professional, nice and fun to work with. I would 100% recommend Gretchen Marie and her girls to anyone looking for a seamless day of getting ready. In fact, my bridesmaids have already been asking me for her contact information.

Gretchen and her team were absolutely amazing from the trial to the day of the wedding. Talk about professionalism!!!!!! She laid out exactly what was expected and went over all the details. She is a truly talented makeup and hair artist and knows her stuff! I only had to tell her what my vision was ONCE and she got it spot on, the first time. Gretchen and Jen were AWESOME! I booked Gretchen for my wedding after reading her reviews online. All the positive reviews are true! She is an incredible makeup and hair artist and is fairly priced - particularly for the bridal party. She is the only makeup artist I found that didn't charge an additional fee for airbrush makeup and lashes. Which let’s be honest - everyone wants!
As for the Bride - Gretchen truly wants you to be happy! I chose an incredibly complicated hair style and Gretchen did not rest until she got it right. At my second hair trial we couldn't get it quite the way I wanted it so she gave me a 3rd trial for free and nailed it! I was so happy with my hair - I can't tell you!!!

The hair and makeup held up all day!!! Great experience all around!

Gretchen did a fantastic job on my makeup. I wanted smokey eyes done for the day of my wedding & Gretchen was reluctant to do it when I went for my trial. Gretchen was concerned that doing a smokey look would not come out how I would have anticipated due to the shape of my eyes. I insisited that she at least try & if it looked terrible she would not be held accountable. I've asked markup artists in the past to give me the smokey look & they declined clearly because they were not up for the challenge. She took me thru step by step & showed me little by little when she was applying the makeup to get my approval on each detail. I was so happy with the end result & she was stunned how awesome of a job she did because of the challenge she had with the shape of my eyes. I was extremely pleased with the results of both my makeup trial and the day of the wedding. Gretchen listened to what I wanted and checked in multiple times throughout the trial to show me options of different looks. The end result was perfect. The makeup held up well for both the trial (which was for a friends bachelorette party) and the wedding. She was always easy to get in touch with and very pleasant to work with. She was organized taking notes of different color selections and palettes used for the trial for reference on the actual wedding day. Gretchen made me feel like a princess, and for a person like me very close to a tom boy. A dog groomer who hates to dress up, and never wears make up. Gretchen did my make-up on my wedding day and she was amazing! I was such a picky bride when it came to hair and make up. I had multiple hair and make-up trials. When I met Gretchen, I gave her a picture of what I wanted ( the same picture I had give multiple other make-up artists) and she nailed it! It was exactly what I wanted and I loved it. I went home and showed my bridesmaids and they were crazy about it as well. My bridesmaids were going to do their own make-up and as soon as they saw what an awesome job Gretchen did, they scheduled appointments with her. In addition to doing great make-up, she was wonderful to work with. I had 8 bridesmaids! You can imagine how difficult it is to get 8 girls together. I had to change the appointment time the week of the wedding and Gretchen was really flexible about it. Then, One of my girls was late for her appointment and Gretchen was patient and waited for her to arrive. My 6 year old neice was at the house while all the girls were getting ready and she started to cry because she wanted her make-up done too. Gretchen was so sweet. Even though she was on a tight schedule (because my bridesmaid was late ) she took the time to do my neice's make-up.

Overall, she was a great make-up artist and she great to work with. Everyone in the bridal party looked beutiful and most importanly, everyone loved their make-up! If you have a large bridal party, you will understand how difficult it is to make everyone happy and she managed to do it. I would absolutely recommend her to all my friends and family. I hope I have another occasion to work with her again.

Gretchen had done my make-up for my wedding as well as my bridal party and had covered up a tattoo on my arm.
She was absolutely FANTASTIC and I have been raving about her to everyone I know! She is so talented and so very nice! The whole experience was so smooth and alot of fun .

She had come out to the East Wind in Wading River where I was getting married at 6am and started on my tattoo cover up and then everyones make up. There were 4 bridemaids, 2 flower girls, me and my mom and everyones make up was flawless.
We had so many compliments on the girls make-up as well as mine.

A lot of the guest came up to me as well and asked...didn't you have a tattoo?? The job she did was AMAZING!!! You could not even tell at all!!

I hired Gretchen for my October Wedding and couldn't be happier! She did a beautiful job on my mom and sister, as well as the rest of my bridal party, and myself. Many people have asked who did my make up and I always refer them to Gretchen because of the great service I received. She was flexible with my schedule, highly professional, and did a beautiful job meeting the needs of all that she worked on! I felt beautiful on my wedding day and didn't have to retouch at all! Everyone looked beautiful from the beginning of the night until the end . I wouldn't recommend nor go to another make up artist after working with Gretchen.

Gretchen was truly a professional when it came down to my big day. She would really listened to what style of makeup I wanted (Middle Eastern) and came through 100%. On top of all that, the prices are very affortable and she's a big sweetheart! Four of my bridesmaids got their makeup done as well, and they looked gorgeous! I truly felt like a princess and received so many compliments that day which made me feel like a million bucks :) Thank you again Gretchen for making me look amazing!
Oh and another thing.. airbrush makeup made me look so flawless and natural in the pictures and best part of all, it's a very lightweight feeling on your skin!

I hired Gretchen to do makeup for my bridal party. She is such a sweetheart and was a pleasure to deal with, not to mention her prices are affordable. She arrived early and got right to work. All of the girls makeup looked beautiful and best of all natural!! She even stayed later than she was suppose to and waited for my sister who was running late getting to the hotel. Throughout all the madness of our small hotel room filled with about 9 girls plus vendors, Gretchen did her thing!!! I highly recommend her, you will not be let down.

I was a full time makeup artist and now just do makeup for friends and family. It was very hard for me to relinquish the control to someone else, but I knew I did not want to do my own makeup on my wedding day. I met with Gretchen and knew after my trial, she was the one to do my makeup. I looked like me when she was done. I've had other makeup artists do my makeup, when they were finished I looked in the mirror and wasn't sure who was looking back! She was very easy to work with, she listened to my requests. As the Mother of the Groom, for my only child, I was SO fortunate to have found Makeup Artistry Of Long Island by Gretchen Marie! She is FABULOUS!

I sent her a photo of myself, since I did not choose to get a trial makeup session. Gretchen arrived to my home, on time, the morning of the wedding, with her supplies. She brought colors she specifically chose for my skin and dress, from a simple photograph.

When she was finished, I think my first words were, "I look like a model!"

While at the reception hall, women from other weddings actually came over to me and told me my makeup was stunning. I can not tell you how wonderful I felt and looked on my son's special day!

I recommend Gretchen for ANY event where you want to look better than you can even imagine.

It was a pleasure working with Gretchen of Make-Up Artistry of Long Island as the make-up artist for my wedding. She is super professional and extremely talented!! Gretchen was amazing and so accommodating! I absolutely love her and her team. Everyone came out beautiful and I could not have asked for a better. I had everyone telling me I looked stunning and so id my girls. She was also able to accommodate my step-mother who has very sensitive skin and breathing problems and could not be in the make-up room for long.

A real professional indeed, Gretchen is a classy, lovely and creative makeup artist. As an owner of Angel Bridals in East Islip I suggest her frequently to my brides and moms for their special day. Gretchen and her team did a beautiful job on hair and makeup for my wedding this past weekend. Gretchen made me feel at ease throughout the entire process and was very flexible to ensure that I absolutely loved my hair and makeup on the big day. Nearly everyone commented on the style and also how natural my makeup looked, which was important to me. I used M.A.L.I for my hair services for my wedding on June 11, 2016. I was paired up with Cheryl, who was AMAZING. I had REALLY short hair, and using extensions, she made my hair look stunning. I did my trial with her using one style, and on my wedding day, I actually chose a different style - no trial on that look - and it came out stunning! I couldn't have asked for a better stylist the day of the wedding. She also did the hair for all of my bridesmaids and each was extremely happy with the results. I can't speak for any other of Gretchen's people, but Cheryl is worth EVERY penny. Arrived at the hotel early in the morning, on time, and worked her butt off for hours. If you have any doubts about adding extensions, Cheryl is the way to go! Appreciate all the work she put in.

I was an older bride who was getting married for the first time. I also planned my wedding in four weeks, and was unable to book a trial. I knew very specifically what I wanted. Gretchen was amazing. My hair was gorgeous, as well as my make-up. I looked like myself, only better. Even my husband, who normally does not like me in make-up loved it. Gretchen listened to everything I said, and did a wonderful job. So happy with the results.

Gretchen and her team were super professional and wonderful to work with. She did 1 makeup and 2 hair trials on me (bc I didn't know what hairstyle I wanted) and 1 makeup/1hair trial on my mother. I'd recommend having an idea of what hairstyle you want (pinterest hairstyles with your specific hair color) before going to the trial. She did a gorgeous job on my makeup!! She worked with my Asian eyes and had to adjust the false eyelashes a bit but she got them perfect. She was quick to respond via text/phone, a little behind with emails but it wasn't that big of a deal. She made sure the instructions and day-of schedule were emailed to me a week in advance of the big day. That super early morning, Gretchen and her team were 15mins early (4:30am!!) and were ready for me and my bridal party exactly on schedule. I had gotten some superficial injuries before the wedding, and she quickly applied a little airbrush over the scratches the day-of. Couldn't even tell I had any scratches in the photos! Highly recommend her and her team!!

Gretchen & Raisa did the hair for my bridesmaids and they both did a great job! Gretchen was very responsive from the beginning and throughout the whole process. Her and Raisa came right onsite to the hotel on-time and on schedule at every step. They did exactly what the girls had asked for and if they needed touch-ups or changes done, they were done without hesitation. Super easy and accommodating and at a fair price. Highly recommend Gretchen & her crew!

Gretchen did my hair and makeup for my wedding day and the result was fantastic! I had a trial with another woman before deciding to go with Gretchen. She listens to what YOU want and works with you to find the look that you want. She was on time and finished when she said she was supposed to. Gretchen and her team did my hair & makeup as well as h&mu for my 3 bridesmaids and my mother-in-law. During the initial trial, Gretchen was personable and friendly, and asked me questions and listened to my input. She made me feel extremely comfortable, which is so important when you trust someone with your wedding day! On the big day, the team arrived on time and in bubbly spirits, which really helped me & my bridesmaids get excited! I received so many compliments during my wedding, and my pictures look great. Gretchen and her assistant were my makeup/hair artists for the my wedding and were just fabulous! Everyone was very pleased with their services. I received so many compliments on my hair and my makeup was just enough to make me look a little different for a special day but not unlike myself. The reason for the not "All 5s" score was just because they arrived a bit late (due to traffic) which was obviously out of their control but had to include in my review. I had gave myself and all the girls enough flexible time so this was not really and issue and Gretchen and her assistant did everything they could to keep as close to schedule as possible. They were great and I would absolutely recommend them!

Unfortunately I am sorry to say I did not have a great experience with Gretchen. While we were scheduled to meet at 2pm, I called to let her know we'd be half an hour late, which worked for her because she was running late, but Gretchen did not show up till 3pm. While we can pay her for her time waiting, Id rather not sit and wait for my vendors to show up when I need them. I had let her and the hair lady know that I needed to be ready by 6pm, but they said they'd start the other girls first. I should have insisted on going first because I wasn't ready till 7pm. I like my makeup to be done in a very specific manner, and wanted to check after every step that Gretchen was doing, which caused her to be very irritated and that irritated me in return. Being flustered that day, the last thing I needed was for someone to show irritation with me. She told me I was overthinking it and she was not happy that I was checking to see after every step, again, another reason why it would have been wise for me to go first. Unfortunately, I was from out of state so I didnt get a chance to have a trial. Her unfriendly demeanor with me really turned me off. I was not impressed with the final result either. I told her specifically which lashes I wanted and she ended up using other ones without informing me, and one was placed higher than the other and it showed in all my pictures. She was however quick to respond to emails and phone calls.
