Don't think twice - LJ of LUX & JASPER was absolutely one of the BEST decisions we made when planning our wedding last year in Monterey, CA!! If you are lucky enough for her to have availability, just hire her. She makes the stressful process feel manageable, and I was fully confident on the day of the wedding that she had everything under control. She is also super creative - it's such a gift to chat with her and hear her ideas to transform a space.
We had a more complicated wedding schedule, with two separate Hindu and Christian ceremonies in one day, and with a tea hour, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, the works - her and her ladies moved around our guests seamlessly. She also dealt with some vendors & our venue through tricky situations, and kept us out of the loop in the moment - exactly what we wanted so we could be as present as possible.
So incredibly grateful for LUX & JASPER! -

LJ is INCREDIBLE!! I told her that if I hadn’t married my husband, I’d marry her in a heartbeat! Working with her was stress free and so much fun. She has the warmest heart and mellow personality. You can’t help but love her. She wore so many hats for us: day of coordinator, decor, florals, and I have a feeling she shielded us from a “hard to deal with” venue owner. She was so sweet and came through with making our ideas come to life and added special touches throughout the venue that I never would have thought of. If she’s available for your special day, snag her right away. If she’s not...change your wedding date. -

Relaxed, calm and easy to work with
LJ was very calm and relaxed, and was open to all our ideas. She was able to gracefully navigate our busy schedules and was well versed in the particulars of the Sequoia Retreat Center, which was very helpful. As the Mother of the Bride, I can say she helped us stay on track, and the day of services were smooth, considering the millions of details that were put in place. It was great to know LJ knew all our desires, and was able to make sure it came together. A beautiful weekend of love, family and friends. -

My husband and I got married on 5/18/19 at the Sequoia Retreat Center, and we truly can’t imagine our wedding without LJ’s help. She was DEFINITELY the best investment we made throughout our wedding process, and went so above and beyond our expectations. We ended up doing a full wedding weekend for our guests, and LJ helped us with the entire weekend from the Friday welcome dinner until the Sunday post-wedding brunch (and everything in between!). Her extreme knowledge with our venue and relationship with the staff there is invaluable.
During the actual wedding, we had a super unexpected storm that put much of our planning and organization at risk. It felt in the moment like everything had to be changed and we were running out of time, but LJ dove into execution mode and did whatever it took to make the day go off without a hitch. We ended up fully relying on LJ to make many new decisions about the wedding that had to be made in this new vision with a day full of rain, and she executed perfectly. Amid all the chaos of unexpected weather, it was a huge relief knowing that we could fully trust LJ to cover all the bases.
One of LJ’s unique strengths compared to other planners is her amazing creativity and ability to create magic. There were MANY points throughout our wedding where people would compliment us on staging that was setup across the venue, or small touches that we had no part in; it was all LJ. Her creativity was extremely helpful and saved us so much time from spending too much effort in worrying about design aspects of the weekend, and the end result was miles better than we ever could have dreamt up.
It would take too long to list all of the many amazing things LJ did for us that went above and beyond. Just to mention a few, she single handedly put on our Sunday brunch for almost 100 people, including buying all of the food and drinks, fully decorating and staging tables, and coordinating the whole morning. She helped us find our amazing vendor team (we feel so lucky to have landed with each and every one of them) and managed much of the communication and coordination between them (a difficult task when all of the plans change because of the weather). She added so many special touches throughout the entire weekend that our guests loved and appreciated, such as beautifully decorated nooks to relax in and a super cute smores stand. She also took the lead on creating magical succulent boxes for our welcome dinner centerpieces when we decided we didn’t have budget to rent them from our florist.
Our wedding truly wouldn’t have been the magical weekend that it was without LJ’s help, especially with the craziness that the last minute weather changes caused. If you’re looking for a wedding planner (ESPECIALLY if you’re working with the Sequoia Retreat Center) we highly recommend you go with LJ.

Jessica Sent on 10/11/2018Laura was so helpful from start to finish! She had all the right questions and made sure nothing was left out.
Laura's creativity helped guide me when I was unsure, I loved her ideas every time! Max and I went the less traditional route with a few steps, but Laura made us feel comfortable and ensured us there is no right or wrong way to do things.
The weeks leading up to our wedding she made sure she was the point of contact with all of our vendors so we could focus on us. Wedding weekend she made sure we didn't have to worry about a thing!
It was really nice having someone help me plan, who cared so much about us and our wedding weekend. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but after each meeting with Laura she made me feel at ease.
We love Laura so much and I would highly recommend her! -

Eduardo Sent on 03/07/2018We provided the food (paella) for a large wedding that LJ coordinated. From our experience in working with wedding coordinators we see that the wedding parties needs take priority over the vendors needs which is understandable. With LJ we were pleasantly surprised. Every bit of our communication during the planning phase was always immediate and with no drama. During the wedding we observed a very relaxed and stress free coordination and day of execution that is hard to come by with planners. To boot LJ answered her cell phone during the most stressful part of the wedding to field a quick last minute question and with a calm and confident demeanor. It really was a pleasure to work with her team. -
Whitney Sent on 11/30/2017I can't even begin to explain how amazing LJ is to work with she is a wedding expert.. She made planing a wedding feel so easy and stress free. An we had a large wedding of 300 people that was over night so that says a lot too not feel stressed. We had the wedding in a beautiful location up in the Santa Cruz mountains and she went above and beyond driving all the way up to the wedding venue on multiple occasions with me and my husband to help us plan. From start to finish she was there too help with any questions I had and gave us some great suggestions for things I would have never thought to think about. I am far from a planer my self and the idea of planing a large wedding was something I don't know if I could have done with out having her there to keep me on track. She was never overwhelming but always there so send me little reminder text and make sure I was on track with anything or if I needed help with anything. On the day of the wedding she was there to help with decorating and even loaned us some of her beautiful carpets and materials for the wedding. I can not give enough recommendations if you are looking for any help planing your wedding you will not regret hiring LJ.. a million stars
