We had a pleasant experience working with Max!

He was very easy-going, and provided very helpful suggestions based on his experience. He worked with us to create the exact menu that we wanted- sit down dinner for 75 guests. Our guests specifically commented on the quality of the steak and how delicious it was.

Also, I want to point out that the venue is gorgeous. It is an absolutely stunning space and the decor is really nice. It provides a turn-key solution. We had the ceremony and reception here, and it worked out great.

Max and the team at Louisiana are great. We had a great time planning our reception for 120 people there. The ballrooms are beautiful and the food is amazing. The place is absolutely stunning. The only thing I would mention, the food took a little longer than quoted for everyone to be served, and the food they served for cocktail hour was gone in 10 minutes and not replaced. But overall, we're still very impressed with Louisiana!

We held a three-course plus dessert rehearsal dinner for about 70 guests on a Saturday night. From start to finish, Louisiana Restaurant exceeded every expectation by very large orders of magnitude. It's an indescribably beautiful event space - marble floors, a sweeping iron staircase footed by lion statues (both I and the kids that attended *loved* this!), chandeliers, a sitting area mid-level between the large upstairs bar area and ballroom (the kids loved this, too). Many guests asked about the history of the restaurant and were flabbergasted to hear that the ballroom was designed and constructed only in the past few years (although its components--the woodwork, the marble, the chandeliers, many of the paintings--are very much older). Great sound system, too, and how neat to have guests give their toasts standing between the lions!

Max was very easy to work with and always got back to us quickly with any questions we had; he pulled off an absolutely perfect event with sparse guidance from neophyte wedding planners (us)! Given a number of guests and seating plan, we were provided a perfect setup for the event that required only minor alterations -- and he spent time with us to figure out exactly what that was and ensured we were happy with it. They have a wide variety of tables/table sizes to accommodate pretty much any setup.

Service was attentive, smooth and spot-on. Our head server, Heather, was always there when we needed her, easily picked up the flow of the event, and anticipated any issue. Her timing was impeccable, and I was amazed at how perfectly-planned the event seemed!

And the food! Over-the-top delicious, generously-portioned, beautifully-presented food--I heard rave reviews first- and second-hand from many of our guests for every single dish. Everything I tasted (and boy, did I taste) was roll-your-eyes delicious! Louisiana's food is normally exceptional, but I didn't know how it would turn out for a group of 70+--I honestly think it was better! How do you perfectly cook a steak for 40 people? I do not know, but I now know it can be done. They also flawlessly executed all of our special requests (special-order beer for each course, dessert bar with both signature desserts and a bananas foster station, and a few menu modifications here and there).

Without a doubt, Louisiana Restaurant pulled off an exquisitely perfect event for us - we're getting a lot of credit from our guests for an incredible evening, but the credit resides with Max and his team at Louisiana. I cannot recommend them highly enough - I walked out of the restaurant that night believing that the wedding itself could be a total disaster, but all would be well because I'd still be floating on the success of the rehearsal dinner!

I think the other review covered it all, but I just wanted to write again about how truly beautiful this restaurant is. When you walk to the front door, you have no idea what you are about to see on the inside. Once you walk through the small dining room and bar area, you will be knocked off your feet by the ballroom, the stairs, the upstairs and the antique architectural details that the owners used in renovating this space. You really feel like you are in another world and it is just truly gorgeous. If you want a beautiful fantasy wedding, this is the place. Our friends also had their wedding at this venue and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The food is impeccable and so delicious and the service is outstanding. I can't recommend this hidden gem enough!

What can I say that would make you use the Louisiana for your wedding reception?!? Well, my reception was about 115 people and it was perfect! Max was very flexible and always willing to help us with any questions.

As an event planner myself, I was looking for something that didn't need a lot of work with decor. I also wanted to avoid any rentals as much as possible. I found that at the Louisiana! We had a pretty tight budget so we were able to get most of what we wanted within this amount. I'm also a very detailed person and I highly recommend making sure you have every little detail ready for them.

The entire process and the venue itself is absolutely amazing and the staff....WOW what a GREAT staff! They took care of everything!!! I never had to wait more than a few seconds for food or drinks. They hand delivered my husband and I's meal even though it was a buffet.

My guests loved the food and raved about the natural decor of the venue. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a classic or antique look and feel. Our theme was 1920's art deco and the Louisiana was perfect!

Absolutely gorgeous and regal restaurant with a very romantic and elegant atmosphere. Beautiful venue to host a wedding! Food is absolutely amazing! It was a bit difficult trying to make contact with the staff but once I came in the venue I knew it was a lovely place. I hosted a birthday party at this venue as well :)

Hosted our wedding here in November 2016. Below is a list of some of the positive and negative experiences we had:

    POSITIVE(S)
+ shuttle transportation provided from a local fells point garage to the reception space
    + food is delicious
+ my wedding guests raved over the natural beauty of the venue (romantic/personal)
+ overall cost is worth the money
+ first floor easily fits anywhere from 130-140 people (anymore and it would be too tight)
+ Max is flexible and easily reachable via email to answer any questions you may have
+ will perform setup and breakdown for ceremony/reception
+ allow setup of decorations the day prior to wedding (if no other events)
+ allow personalization of menu (vegan/vegetarian plates at no additional cost)

    NEGATIVE(S)
    - Ran out of appetizers within the first 20 minutes of cocktail hour (we had 121 guests show and only 12 trays with 8 apps were on each plate = 96. Meaning that not every guest even got to try each of the two appetizers)
    - Leaking Roof (dishwasher apparently overflowed prior to ceremony and water was leaking all over the carpet and dance floor. Our guests were slipping and falling on the marble dance floor and the staff never communicated this to us or even tried to rectify the issue.)
    - Some of the food (specifically the meat) was served on the buffet cold to guests
    - Largest issue: UNDERSTAFFED and DISORGANIZED STAFF MEMBERS.
    - There were 3 bartenders behind the bar that didn't know what ingredients went in traditional alcoholic beverages, causing a major backup at the bar.
    - Dinner was served 40 minutes late (was not ready)
    - Food running out at the buffet due to the staff attempting to help behind the bar.
    - Our wedding cheesecakes weren't put out on the stand during breakdown of the ceremony to reception, the groom and I had to inform the staff twice to put the wedding cake out. Then once we had cut the cake, the staff just put out plates and made the guests cut the cheesecakes.
