Loved the Wedding Hair & Makeup

My bridal party and I used Lou Stevens Glam Squad and had Jenna do our hair and makeup on the wedding day. We had a great experience and all received so many compliments! I cannot recommend enough!!

We had the BEST experience with members of Lou’s team. There was a change of artists before the day due to sickness so i was nervous about having someone different than my trial but I can honestly say I would have been SO happy with any of her team members. We had 3 artists doing hair and make up for me and my girls and everyone looked fantastic. I have truly never felt more beautiful.

Excellent service!

My mom, sister, and I had our hair and make-up done by Josette (a member of Lou Stevens' fabulous glam squad). We don't typically wear a lot of makeup so we were very afraid we might not look like ourselves. Josette made us feel so comfortable and really, really listened to us. I did a trial with her a few weeks before the wedding day. She came to my parents house (where we got ready on wedding day) which was so great because she could see the space and how we would actually prepare on the day of. I cannot reiterate enough times what a great LISTENER she was! She truly wanted to do everything she could to make my vision a realty. She took criticism so well (of which I had very little) and had lots of great ideas for parts of the process in which I had no clear idea of what I wanted. On the morning, she was so calm and relaxed. Josette is awesome!!! Highly recommend.

Lou Stevens saved the day!

We originally had booked another hair and makeup team for our wedding and when that fell through at the last minute, our wedding planner put us in touch with Lou Stevens. By some miracle, she was available to take us on (we were a Sunday wedding) and did a fabulous job! She and her team member did hair and makeup for myself and all my bridesmaids plus hair for my mother and my husband’s mother. Everyone looked great, our hair and makeup lasted all night, and they were perfectly on schedule. Can’t say anything but kind things about them!

Beautiful!

Thank you so much to Lou and Lou’s team for helping make me and my bridesmaids, mother of the bride, mother of the groom, and groomsmen feel SO beautiful and so special for my wedding day! Lou and her team were so fun to work with and made the wedding day so special. So much of the bride’s day is consumed with getting ready time and Lou made me feel so special! She played along with my high maintenance requests for tiktoks and also was SO flexible with changes of date and such because of COVID. She and her team made all of us look amazing- I was so thankful how they looked at our inspiration visions but also made it work for “us”!! Thank you so much LOU and team! We love you!! 100/10 recommend!!

100% Recommend!

I hired Lou Stevens Glam Squad for my wedding after my original makeup artist/hair stylist could not make my rescheduled date. They were so responsive and easy to work with - they stepped in quickly and professionally when I was under a time crunch, and made the process much less stressful! My mom, sister, and I ended up working with Megan for our makeup and hair styling, and she was wonderful! She was so sweet and calming, and did a beautiful job with all three of us - she continuously checked in and was responsive to any requests and tweaks we asked for. I am so pleased with the final results, and am thankful she and Lou Stevens were able to step in and do such a great job!

Glam Squad at its Finest!

Lou and her Glam Squad team were amazing to work with! Lou is fantastic with communication and she really listened to what I had envisioned for my day. The payment process was very easy. I chose to pay for all of my bridesmaids hair and makeup as their bridesmaids gift and I loved that the fake eyelashes were optional so I let them choose that! I was able to easily plan my hair and makeup trial and Kyleigh (my hair and makeup artist) actually came right to the house! My bridesmaids were so happy with their hair and makeup as was I. Kyleigh and Maddie came to do our hair and makeup. They were so professional and efficient that we actually finished early and had downtime the day of the wedding! I had so many people compliment on how beautiful my hair and makeup was. (That was actually the first thing my photographers said when they walked in to where I was getting ready!) Thank you Lou and your team! You were truly amazing!

We love Lou

Lou was absolutely amazing! She gave each gal exactly what they were looking for for their hair! On top of that she was so kind and easy to talk to through the whole process. I will absolutely book Lou again for any special event beauty needs in the future.

Lou was great to chat with

Lou answered all my questions regarding hair and makeup! I am a very minimal makeup wearer and I felt comfortable talking to her about my experiences that were bad in the past with professional makeup and what I don’t want and do want. She provided me an updated proposal upon request (and super fast)!

Excited to have her glam squad take care of my bridesmaids and I on the wedding day!

Highly recommend!

Mallory was fantastic to work with on my wedding day! She achieved exactly the look I was aiming for, and she was so easy-going, talented, and flexible. I will say as a tip for other brides - I originally wasn’t planning on doing a “preview” of the hair and makeup I wanted done because of the extra cost, but I decided to add that a few weeks before my wedding. I was really glad I did - the preview was a good chance for her to get to know how my hair would respond and to implement all my feedback effortlessly on the wedding day. I didn’t have to give her any notes the day of because she knew exactly what I was looking for, so I just got to sit back and feel pretty on my wedding day!

The perfect makeup for me!

I am VERY picky about makeup, because I almost never wear it -- so the whole idea of doing makeup for my wedding was very stressful. My biggest fear is that my makeup would be overdone and I wouldn't feel like myself. Well I'm happy to say, the Glam Squad was AMAZING! The makeup was perfect for me, it made me feel gorgeous and pretty without being overdone. It was natural and beautiful and the hair was absolutely to die for. I'm so thankful for hair and makeup that allowed me to feel comfortable and to feel like ME on my wedding day! Thank you Glam Squad!!!

Glam Squad - The Best Team!

I had the pleasure of having Lou Stevens herself and Mallory do our hair/makeup on my wedding day. No trial needed, I knew they could nail my look with a few inspirational photos. They created a schedule that was honest with the anticipated timeline and we were ON TIME and FLAWLESS. It was everyone’s first time with airbrush and the magnetic lashes, and we were all in love. The lashes were quite difficult to remove as expected, so just bring makeup remover with oil!! They were professional and fun to get ready with. They happily touched up a few of us, and Lou even customized my own lip color after describing a mauve that I don’t think exists elsewhere! I paid the travel fee, and very thankful no one had to worry about travel logistics - worth every penny. I did my research on similar services in the area but the reviews helped me make a decision. They were a little high on budget, but it’s worth it! I let the ladies know the services were optional, but the wedding party happily took advantage of it! THANK YOU LOU AND MALLORY!

I used Glam Squad for my wedding last Saturday and I couldn't be more happy that we chose them. What a great group of talented women, who give you the best possible experience. My girls had an absolute blast getting glammed up on the big day! The team is so accommodating, professional and talented. I love that they offer a bridal preview session to make sure you are comfortable with your look before your big day! I couldn't think of one complaint if I tried, this was a 5 star experience from the first point of contact, all the way through until my wedding.

A Day at The Weyanoke with Glam Squad

Amanda and her team were a perfect pairing for our wedding! Amanda met with the bride prior to the special day in order to create the beautiful wedding hair. She colored the bride's hair and worked with no effort to add extensions for the bride. When it came to the wedding morning, she and her team arrived ready to go straight to work. It was unbelievable to watch how efficiently they worked together wasting no time. Everyone was beautiful. So many guests have raved about all of the hair and makeup. Amanda even took special time to add a few curls into the flower girls' hair which was not planned. The team even took it in stride when the bride realized that she did not have the cuflinks that she had purchased as a gift for her soon to be new husband. As the bride was having an upsetting moment and had the hotel valets looking in three vehicles, Amanda and her team did not miss a beat! They were a calming force in what could have been a potential disaster on a wedding morning. Everyone was ready in ample time to get to the altar. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this experience! Lou Stevens Glam Squad can't be beaten.

Dena and Sydney were wonderful!

I cannot thank Dena and Sydney enough for the wonderful job they did for my wedding. Dena did everyone's hair plus my makeup. I will admit that I was really nervous about hair and makeup when it came to my wedding. I didn't know what I wanted and didn't know what would actually look good on me. When I had my trial with Dena, she was so sweet and patient and asked me a ton of questions to get an idea of what I wanted. Then she tried a couple of styles so I could see how they'd look. We quickly found one that actually worked on me. And she has great instincts when it came to my makeup. I absolutely loved working with her. She has such a calming presence and excellent style.

Sydney did the makeup for my bridal party and hit it off with everyone. While I only had 4 bridesmaids they all had very different tastes and comfort levels. Sydney managed to capture an individual look for all of them. She was also super fun and fit right in to the relatively chill atmosphere we had going on that day.

This was such a great pair of stylists to work with. I loved them and highly recommend them to everyone!

natural + organic perfection

Worked with Jane from Lou Stevens and she did such an amazing job with hair & makeup for me and my bridesmaids. Going into the wedding I was a bit picky. I don't wear lots of makeup and wanted something very soft and organic looking with my hair. Many of the styles I chose for inspiration were not great with my hair type. Jane was patient and helpful in creating something that achieved the look I was going for while working with my hair type. The updo was VERY secure and lasted all night. Thank you Jane!

I cannot say enough good things about my experience at Lou Stevens Glam Squad! I found them through a friend who is a photographer (who also had nothing but good things to say about them) – after booking them for my wedding, I started to go to them for color and haircuts too! I wanted a salon that could get to know myself and my hair prior to the day of my wedding (plus they give you 15% off your first visit)! Sandy is amazing – I LOVED my wedding updo and my girls also loved theirs as well! Huge shout out to Sandy, Sydney, Devin, and Amanda for making us feel so glamours. I fell in love with the salon, space, and staff. They made my wedding day so fun and relaxing - my bridesmaids loved getting ready at the salon and we even got done with our hair earlier than scheduled! We were able to bring in food, drinks, and play music all morning long. The squad makes the booking process so easy and their prices are super reasonable (I must have looked at 5-10 salons, prior to finding the Glam Squad). If you haven’t found a salon yet for your wedding – you should 100% book them – like right now!!!

Lou Stevens did a beautiful job on my wedding hair and makeup! I usually worry that professional makeup will look unnatural or too dramatic, but they were able to capture the look I wanted perfectly. I loved that they were able to come to our bridal suite on my wedding day to do my hair/makeup as well as my bridesmaids. They were very prompt and responsive to my questions too.

The Glam Squad Team was absolutely amazing. We used their on-location services, and they did such a wonderful job with hair and makeup for my bridal party. Dana Keeton was excellent, and worked with me for months before my wedding to ensure I would have my dream look for my wedding. I fully intend to continue going to Dana for my hair/makeup services, and would recommend Lou Stevens Glam Squad to anyone.

I had a great experience with Glam Squad! While they are a bit pricier than some of the other make-up and hair options, you really get what you pay for! Mallory and Tai were the on-site make-up and hairstylists for my 11/11/17 wedding at Fairview Farm. We had a total of 7 ladies getting hair and make-up done. They really worked well together to keep everyone on schedule. They were very professional and organized. They listened to exactly what each girl wanted and made sure we were 100% happy with our looks. I’m so glad I booked Glam Squad for our wedding! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I had a great experience with the Glam Squad - especially with Dana Keeton, one of their stylists. I had a huge wedding party (almost 15 people with the mothers included) and we knew we needed a team to get it done in time for my 2pm wedding. They finished with plenty of time for extra pictures and touch ups. They even had a formal excel spreadsheet with timing for each girl and it made all of the difference - they were so organized and it was really a relief and calmed me down on my wedding day. Dana was also AMAZING and we played with several different hair styles and make up techniques during my trial. I ended up buying different hair pieces after our initial hair trial because we basically realized my hair was too thin for what I wanted - and her guidance was SO appreciated! Plus, Dana is such a doll and sweetheart and patient with a needy bride like me! She takes a bunch of pictures at your trial from all angles to make sure it's exactly what you want- and sends them to you so that you can review after the trial and think everything over before the wedding. Having her throughout the process made life so much easier :) I would definitely recommend using the Glam Squad, especially Dana.

I don't wear tons of makeup and my hair isn't very thick. I found myself worried that I would look too dolled up or that my hair would be too teased on my wedding day and that I wouldn't look like myself. A few weeks before the big day, Lou and I chatted on the phone and she helped guide me to a hair and makeup style that would work for me and communicated the direction to my day-of stylists. On the morning of our wedding, Tomeka did an amazing job on my hair and Khilia did a flawless job on my makeup. I felt so comfortable and confident all night and got so many compliments on how beautiful I looked. My mom, mother-in-law, and bridesmaids were also very pleased with their hair and makeup as well! I love that they came to us on site and that they were an all-in-one package. It made it so easy and stress free not to have to go somewhere that morning or to have to book multiple vendors for our hair and makeup. I would highly recommend them to any bride in the Richmond area.

I hired Glam Squad to do my hair and makeup for my wedding and thought they did such an amazing job. I couldn't have been happier with Kaitlyn's work. She was timely, professional, and is truly gifted at what she does. She did my hair and makeup, the MOG and MOB's hair and makeup, one bridesmaid's hair, and one bridesmaids makeup. Everyone was so pleased with how everything turned out. Kaitlyn was on schedule the entire morning and fulfilled each of our desires perfectly. She took each of our ideas and brought them to life. The team from Glam Squad was fantastic! I'm so happy that we spent the money for all the girls to have hair and makeup done. Hurricane Matthew made a surprise appearance during our North Carolina wedding and tried it’s best to ruin the day, but thanks to amazing vendors like Lou Steven’s Glam Squad we still had the best day!

Lou and her team stayed calm and kept all of the bridal party calm and happy while the wedding plans erupted around us - the band cancelled, the florist wasn’t sure she’d be able to get the flowers to the reception, the church was losing power - it was total insanity as my planner fielded calls and my mom freaked out. The Glam Squad never batted an eye!

They were total professionals - even when WE lost power! They still had to do makeup for two bridesmaids and did just that, finished up the bridesmaids with no power in bad lighting, and the bridesmaids still looked phenomenal. You could not tell which bridesmaids didn’t get airbrush done!

Through all the craziness of the day and night, we looked awesome. The hair withstood hurricane rain, wind, and humidity, and everyone’s makeup looked beautiful. This would have been an amazing 5 stars job on a normal day, but what they accomplished in the middle of a hurricane was nothing short of heroic!

For the engagement session, I really wanted something unique and a little trendy. they worked with me to make it happen. On the wedding day, all of my bridesmaids loved their hair, and my curls lasted the entire reception, which is a miracle. From the engagement photos, bridal portraits, and the wedding day I am in awe of their skills. Mallory Stevens was a true artist at my daughter's engagement photo session. Not only the makeup but also the hair styling! To have those 2 gifts bestowed on my daughter was just priceless. Mallory had a repeat performance at my daughter, Christina's bridal portraits! Just when you think you've seen the best, Mallory delivered for a third time at the wedding! Also at wedding was stylist Janelle who executed to perfection the hair styles we requested. I have been so impressed by this team of professionals!

My updo is probably the best updo I've seen on brides. I had Lou for my hair and makeup, and both came out looking amazing!! I went dramatic and Lou adjusted things as we went, or rather as my mind changed, she's lovely! :)

Amanda and her team did an absolutely FABULOUS job getting everyone ready for our wedding! They are experts at wedding hair and makeup, and it definitely shows. Amanda is not only incredibly talented, but is also low-key and has a good sense of humor, so she puts you at ease right from the start. She did a beautiful job with my hair and makeup, and it was wonderful to go into my wedding day feeling confident that she'd do a great job. I don't often wear much makeup, so it was important to me that it was special enough for this day, but still looked natural. With Lou Stevens Glam Squad, I didn't have to worry for a minute that I or my bridesmaids and family would be dissatisfied with our services.

From my trial to my wedding day, I always felt comfortable and relaxed working with Lou Steven's Glam Squad. They were easy to get a hold of and responded very timely. I had a large bridal party and knowing they had so many stylists made it easy for me to pick them right away, knowing I did not have to hire multiple people for hair and makeup. They made the schedule for the day and everything went so smoothly, it allowed me to enjoy and have no worries the morning of my wedding, thanks to their amazing team! I am so incredibly happy that I was able to work with the Lou Stevens Glam Squad for my wedding! I had been a part of a wedding in 2015 that also had these talented women helping to make the bridal party beautiful, and knew that if they were available, they were who I wanted to work with for my hair and make-up for my wedding! I loved that they were willing to travel outside of the Richmond area for my wedding (for a small travel fee), and that they were so easy to work with! Kaitlyn, the person who responds to your initial contact, sets up the preliminary questionnaire, and helps to set up the scheduling and timeline for your big day, was absolutely WONDERFUL to work with! She was incredibly responsive and always able to answer any questions that I had. I had initially requested to work with one of the senior stylists, but she was no longer going to be with the company by the time of my wedding, so they upgraded me to Amanda, one of the Master stylists for no additional charge. I was nervous about this switch, but Amanda called me and answered the questions that I had, we set up a trial, and it was FANTASTIC! She was an absolute pleasure to work with and is so incredibly talented! She completely put me at ease and I knew she was going to help me look exactly how I wanted to on my big day. During the trial, she too pictures throughout the process of the final hair and make-up that I settled on, so she had a reminder and template to work from the day of the wedding. All seven of my bridesmaids had their hair done, by Amanda and the lovely Taylor, and they all looked gorgeous! Both Amanda and Taylor listened to what my girls wanted and asked them questions about styling decisions along the way so everyone could be involved and really have the style that they wanted. Even though there were eight of us, we never felt rushed or pressed for time, thanks to being able to work closely with Kaitlyn about the timeline for our wedding. The Glam Squad is an absolute must!!!

We made an excellent decision to use Lou Stevens Glam Squad for my daughters wedding (Bride, MOB, GMOB, Flowergirl, Matron of Honor). The preview is a must and once you have the preview think about your vision and communicate any changes. We found Mallory to be extremely receptive of our vision and on the day of she worked efficiently through changes. I would love to thank Lou Stevens Glam Squad, and more specifically MALLORY, for doing such an amazing job for my wedding. My hair and makeup were both exactly what I envisioned. I have thick/curly hair and Mallory styled it so it stayed under control during the entire ceremony and reception (in July heat and humidity). The Glam Squad is simply amazing! They did my wedding day hair and makeup and I was so thrilled - not only with how I looked (I had never in my life had hair/make up that good!) but also my bridesmaids and mom! Having them there getting us ready was such a fun part of my day that my bridesmaids still talk about. My sister as well as one of my best friends had them for their weddings as well, so I got to experience their amazing work again as a bridesmaid at 2 other weddings. So I've had my hair and makeup done by different Glam Squad team members several times and it's always fabulously beautiful! Their level of expertise is phenomenal no matter what stylist. My latest experience was my maternity photo shoot where the Glam Squad came to my house and did my hair and makeup for pictures with my newborn baby which I will always cherish! The Glam Squad is a must for any event where you will want impeccable hair and makeup. I can't recommend them enough to whoever is looking for a hair/makeup team!

Mallory, with Lou Stevens Glam Squad, is a true professional and a pleasure to work with. We first met her for a preview session a couple month's prior to my daughters wedding; where she did a "practice session" on my daughter's hair and make-up. I was not prepared for how emotional I would get watching this process. As I watched her work, I saw my (already beautiful daughter), be transformed to a more beautiful polished and confident version of herself, right before my eyes. Mallory truly seemed to capture my daughter's soft personality, and it was reflected in her overall look. Wanting to take full advantage of the investment in the make-up session; we also had strategically scheduled my daughter's portrait session later that day. It was a fun but long day, and an outdoor session; but her hair and make-up held up beautifully all day! On the day of the wedding, Mallory arrived promptly and was prepared and organized. Our three bridesmaids were all of different ethnic backgrounds with varying hair types and skin colors. Mallory did a flawless job matching their skin tone and making them all look naturally beautiful. I could also tell that each girl truly felt confidently beautiful, and special that day. I highly recommend the services of Mallory, and the Lou Stevens Glam Squad. They don't merely pamper the outer person, but also nurture the inner confidence and beauty of each individual client.

I had a wonderful experience with Lou Stevens Glam Squad. I would 100% hire them again. They are a great deal (being located in Richmond, they are less expensive than other Charlottesville beauty vendors I looked in to). Their travel fee from Richmond to Charlottesville was only $100! They performed hair and makeup on myself, six bridesmaids, and family members and worked quickly the morning of the wedding with fabulous results. The makeup is good quality and stayed on all day and night. Mallory did my makeup, and I had an emergency the day before with an infected rash (from a cat scratch) all across my upper chest. The airbrush makeup covered it so well that the photographers did not even need to photoshop the rash in the pictures. They also gave me a custom lip color and lip gloss to carry with me for touch ups, which I really appreciated. Lastly, my grandmother took a tumble the morning of and needed a quick makeup job, which they did calmly at no extra cost. This team is a real winner!

Lou Stevens Glam Squad met and exceeded all of my expectations! I had heard they were the best and I am so happy to say I found it to be true! I booked hair and makeup with them for my engagement and bridal portraits, a preview appointment, my rehearsal dinner, and my wedding day. Because she had not been specifically booked the weekend of my wedding, LOU HERSELF did my preview, bridal portrait, rehearsal dinner, and wedding day appointments, at no additional fee! It was a total surprise and I was thrilled! She is the absolute best and so much fun! She listened to what I wanted, even when I left my preview with one hairstyle picked out, and came back for her to do my bridal portrait session having completely changed my mind. She just went with it and nailed it! She also created the most beautiful updo for my rehearsal dinner; I have never seen myself looking so good and my guests that night couldn't stop talking about how perfect my hair and makeup was. Someone even took a picture of it to use as her wedding day inspiration! The same was true for the wedding day, where Lou and Erika handled me and my 5 bridesmaids completely professionally, listening to each girl as she asked for tweaks here and there according to personal preferences, and delivering what everyone wanted. Throughout the months of my many appointments, any time I had a question or even needed to change an established appointment last minute due to the weather, Kaitlyn was so quick to respond and was great to work with. Yes, hair and makeup services can be pricey, but knowing that I was going to look gorgeous on every occasion made me feel so at ease and I knew I had to work the cost into my budget, so I did. Lou and her team definitely prove "you get what you pay for" ... There is just no one better!

I booked Lou and couldn't be happier with my decision. She was an absolute joy to work with, and even with it being her birthday she took the time to make sure that everything was perfect for me and my girls. She was more than professional, and although I brought in some ideas of what I would like, she went above and beyond to make sure I had a unique style that was all my own. The airbrush makeup and lashes looked great on me and the girls and Lou and team managed to make us look great, while still looking like ourselves, without making us look "too made up" or fake as my now husband was scared of. On such a stressful day, as wedding days are, she made the entire experience and day stress free and fun. If you want a great, down to earth, professional, and talented stylist and makeup artist for you and/or your bridesmaids I couldn't recommend a better choice! Lou and team are the best, do not make a mistake and go with someone else! Well worth your time and the decision to book Lou herself was well worth every penny.

After a very disappointing experience with another stylist, I contacted Lou Stevens--they'd been my favorite in terms of photos and reviews to begin with, but were more expensive. Their responsiveness was amazing for a wedding vendor, and Kaitlyn waived the fee to get a more experienced stylist because of the issues I'd had previously.
There were things I wanted changed after my trial, but Kaitlyn clearly listened to what I said and also checked in with me multiple times throughout the day of styling to make sure I was happy. My hair and makeup both turned out truly perfect for what I wanted, and this was by far the thing I was most nervous about.
She and the other stylist, Ashley, were flexible when bridesmaids weren't always ready for their "slot" on the schedule and they all seemed very happy with their hair/makeup.
I will say the cost was far more than I'd initially planned on spending, and higher than many in the area. I did have many other friends in Charlottesville whose hair/makeup I liked as much, but if your budget can handle Lou Stevens, I'd say they're wonderful.

I had such an AMAZING experience with the Glam Squad!! Caitlin was wonderful to work with and made sure to answer all of my questions pre-wedding! Lou herself did my hair and makeup, and it was FLAWLESS and lasted all day! She is such a special person and truly played a huge part in the day running so smoothly! They kept us on time, and we actually finished ahead of schedule! I've been part of a few weddings where makeup/hair took a lot longer than expected causing one to feel very rushed. This was not the case with Glam Squad! I HIGHLY recommend them!!

I had such an amazing experience with the Glam Squad. From start to finish.. my hair and makeup was flawless and lasted ALL day! Caitlin was amazing to work with and answered my emails and phone calls so fast! I never stressed about a thing concerning my hair and makeup. The Glam Squad traveled over 2 hours to get my girls and I dolled up for our big day. There was a travel fee involved but it was worth every penny to have a hair AND make up team come to the venue. There were 12 of us total and they bought 3 ladies to get the job done. They were prompt, professional and put up with our craziness! Plus, everyone looked amazing! I was told by many people that my bridesmaids looked like they were out of a magazine - they're already beautiful girls but the Glam Squad made them flawless.

Also, I was concerned about my make-up being ruined during the ceremony but I expressed my concern via email and was given great advice to pat my tears and not rub them. I happily cried throughout the ceremony and had not a smudge to speak of.

Well worth the money! We had both a hair stylist and make-up stylist. I was planning a wedding from out of town so finding a hair and make-up stylist was the most stressful thing for me. My bridesmaids and myself needed someone who knew how to work with African American hair and skin. Needless to say I was blown away by the service, professionalism and my hair and make-up! I saw Glam Squad highly rated in a 2014 Bridal magazine and reserved them over a year in advance. So worth it! They came onsite to our wedding venue where our hotel/ceremony/reception was - so great especially since it poured all day. They were flexible, kind, easy to work with and accommodated a variety of personalities and preferences. I was extremely late to my bridal trial as the train from Philadelphia (where I live) to Richmond was very delayed - they were very easy going about it and even took the time to re-did my hair a second time. I know that was extra time on their part but I greatly appreciated their patience and willing to find something I loved. The Glam Squad made my wedding day relaxed and fun! All the girls were pleased with their makeup and hair! My hair and makeup looked even better the day of my wedding, which was hard to believe because I loved it during the trials! My husband was nervous about the amount of makeup, and Amanda made sure I was perfect, and he loved it! I highly recommend the full monte package!

Glam Squad was such a pleasure to work with for my wedding! Our stylists were Kaitlyn and Ashley. Kaitlyn did my hair and make up, along with my mother and mother-in-law; Ashley did my bridesmaids' hair. In the weeks leading up to the big event, Kaitlyn was super easy to communicate with and promptly answered any questions or concerns. She created a seamless schedule for the big day and came to us at our venue, Clover Forest Plantation. Kaitlyn and Ashley were so sweet and awesome to have around when the nerves kicked in. I am so glad I decided to book Lou Stevens Glam Squad for my wedding! At first i was a little hesitant because of the price, but they were worth every penny and more! They were very helpful throughout the planning process, and the preview really helped my stylist and I get on the same page so the day of the wedding was smooth. Britny did my hair and makeup and she was such a joy to work with, and after she was done everything looked flawless! It was exactly how i wanted to look on my wedding day. I can't say enough good things about her and the team!! I would definitely book them again if given the chance.

My only recommendation would be to make sure you confirm the services being performed with your bridal party ahead of time, and submit any changes at least a week ahead of time. Time slipped by me since we were moving the week before, and we had to make some modifications. Luckily Kaitlyn was really helpful and accommodating in scheduling everyone!

I highly recommend Lou Stevens Glam Squad! Throughout the planning process they were very professional, polite, and promptly responded to my questions and/or concerns. I have relatively high expectations in terms of what my hair and make-up should look like, so selecting a hairstylist and make-up artist for my wedding day was a very thoughtful process. I am so thrilled that I made the choice I did. Kaitlyn and Ashley were absolutely amazing! My bridal portrait hair and make-up looked just as beautiful as it did on my wedding day! Additionally, on the day of the wedding, we had 6 bridesmaids, 2 mothers, and 1 sister all get their hair and/or make-up done. I am proud to say that everyone LOVED the final outcome. Each individual looked stunning, even the wedding guests commented how beautiful they looked. Throughout the night not a hair came out of place nor did anyone's make-up smear! Lou Stevens Glam Squad was worth every penny I paid!

They did a beautiful job on our hair and make up, and everyone was super friendly and professional. We had pictures ready, and they were able to make our hair match almost perfectly. They also went out of their way to accommodate a road block for the trial session, meeting me at a friend's house since their studio was blocked off.

The only reservation I had was that everything was expected to be paid for in cash on the day of, so I had to carry a large sum of money with me in the days leading up to my wedding. However, it sounds like I could have sent a check in advance; I just was not aware of the option until it was too late. So if this makes you uncomfortable, just be sure to pay in advance!

Amanda and Kaitlyn from the Glam Squad were absolute perfection, from planning the preview to the day of events. They were able to look at an image and whipped out the style for the bridesmaids. They were also honest in what they were comfortable with and really just made us feel exceptional. Every service they provided was exceptional and absolutely worth it. I just finished my hair and makeup trial with Britny and she was so sweet! She did an awesome job with my hair. I showed her a few pictures from my Pinterest, and she made the picture come to life. I asked her to change a few things, and she was happy to try different styles. I LOVED my makeup! She applied the fake eyelashes and they made my eyes pop! The ladies of Lou Stevens Glam Squad were amazing!! I decided to book Lou Stevens based on the positive reviews they received from past brides, as well as their ability to do both hair and makeup services for me and my bridal party. I was absolutely thrilled with my choice!

My mom and I went to Richmond for our trial, which was a great experience and I definitely recommend this for future brides. We got to meet Kaitlyn and Brittany at the trial - they were really easy-going and open to our ideas, but still provided helpful feedback and suggestions given their experience and expertise. When it came time for the wedding, I knew exactly what tweaks I wanted to make from the trial, so I was confident I would love the end result.

For the wedding, Kaitlyn and Brittany traveled to my venue in Charlottesville, VA (and arrived EARLY!), set up and got to work! They did the makeup for all five of my bridesmaids, and hair and make-up for the Mother of the Bride and the Mother of the Groom. They accommodated everyone and made them all look gorgeous - with hair and makeup that lasted for the entire wedding - and importantly, made sure we stayed on schedule in the process. As for me, the ladies did an INCREDIBLE job and I received numerous compliments on how natural my hair and makeup looked - even my photographer stopped me while taking photos to tell me how amazing my hair and make-up was photographing! Based on the preview photos I have seen from my photographer, she was totally right!

For all you Brides-To-Be, if you want fun, energetic, talented professionals to make you look your best on your Big Day, Lou Stevens is the way to go!

I LOVEEEE the glam squad! They're quick to respond, super easy to talk to, and do the best work! I have very thick, stubborn, hard to curl hair. My hair was curled for pictures on a hot Virginia Summer day, and they stayed! My makeup didn't go anywhere either. You will definitely not regret hiring the glam squad for your wedding! The Glam Squad was absolutely fantastic and extremely flexible. Between dealing with all the girls and moms it was quite overwhelming but all the girls Caitlyn brought were extremely flexible and professional throughout the whole experience. I absolutely loved what they did with my hair and makeup even though I gave them very little direction, they are true professionals and amazing at what they do. Glamour Squad services took so much stress off of me on the day of my wedding. All I had to do was sit back and relax. They took care of hair and makeup for myself and all of the girls in my wedding party. They were fantastic to work with! I had my Wedding the weekend of the Richmond Marathon and they had trouble finding parking but never complained to me even though they had to walk in the cold for 20 minutes to get to me. Lou Stevens Glam Squad was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout my wedding planning process. From my engagement session, to my preview, to my wedding day, I am so thankful for the gracious and talented women of Glam Squad.

Their customer service is unmatched - my phone calls and e-mails were always returned promptly. I always felt like I was their most important bride - even though I knew I was one of many. In a wedding, there are so many pieces to the puzzle and moving parts that it is easy to get a little anxious as a bride - I was never at all worried about Glam Squad because I knew they would not do me wrong!

As far as their services are concerned, I am convinced that they are the very best that Richmond has to offer. The stylists stay up to date with current trends and their makeup kits (including AIRBRUSH) are up to date with the latest products on the market. Furthermore, my stylist intently listened to what I wanted in a look and did a fabulous job of accentuating my natural features. I never worried about how I would look because I knew my stylist would move heaven and Earth to get it right! Finally, my mother does not like a heavy makeup look and, after spending some time with Glam Squad on my wedding day, she felt confident and beautiful.

To do it all over again -I would definitely choose Glam Squad and you should, too!

I would recommend the Glam Squad to any bride! I have never had so many compliments! I don't usually wear much makeup at all and this was my first experience with airbrush makeup and I am definitely a fan of it. Amanda totally knew what she was doing and made me feel completely at ease and it was a bonus that she made me laugh the whole time. On a day when you are spending so much money on a photographer and getting more pictures taken than any other day and you are the center of attention, a good hair & makeup artist is definitely worth the cost! You will be looking at and displaying those photos for the rest of your life. I loved that I still looked like me, just a more beautiful version of me. :)

Lou Stevens Glam Squad is AMAZING!!!!! I can’t get over what an awesome job they did on my hair and all my bridesmaids hair for the wedding!!!! I look at my pictures and I am SO THANKFUL that the Glam Squad did my hair and makeup - it looks absolutely FABULOUS!!! I can’t believe what they can do to hair! Truly talented! My bridesmaids, mother and mother in law thoroughly enjoyed getting pampered and all glammed up! It was such a fun and stress free time for us all - we thoroughly enjoyed our hair and makeup time! Lou and Amanda even had music playing on their iPod for us in the background. Lou Stevens Glam Squad came to the rescue! It's not easy to make someone look amazing at 5:00am. They did just that to my mom and I on my wedding day. Our original hair and makeup vendor was a no show and Lou Stevens Glam Squad was able to come to us at 5:00 in the morning in just four days notice. They are amazing!

Absolutely loved having Amanda and the rest of the staff at Lou Stevens come and do our hair and makeup for my wedding. We had 11 people, most which wanted hair and make-up and they did a fantastic job with each and every person in a timely manner. They were also very receptive to what we wanted and made changes if we asked. The make up was perfect and was everything I hoped for and stayed for well over 12 hours. Everyone's hair held and was happy with the service provided. I have been in weddings where we had to go to the vendor, having the staff come to you is great and I would suggest them to everyone!

The ladies of Glam Squad were a pleasure to work with! Their work is AMAZING. I truly appreciated that they were organized, punctual (they arrived at our wedding venue before we did), flexible, professional, and fun! If I could afford to hire them as a personal stylist, I would! Thank you so much, Glam Squad, for making me and my bridal party all sorts of beautiful on my big day.

Lou Stevens Glam Squad was amazing. My husband and I were planning a destination wedding in Richmond. On a last minute trip to Richmond for wedding planning, I contacted Amanda in hopes we could do a last minute run through. She had no problem meeting with me within one day of contacting her. Amanda was extremely patient with me, even when I had no idea of what hairstyle I wanted. She even took the time to meet with me on a second occasion to make sure I loved my hairstyle and makeup for the wedding. The day of the wedding the Glam Squad was even more amazing by making sure they took the time to make sure each of my girls looked beautiful. The Lou Stevens Glam Squad made my bridesmaids and I look and feel like princesses. I could not have asked for a better group of women to make my wedding day extraordinary.

Lou is more than hair and makeup. Lou is an instant friend. She is definitely someone I want to keep in touch with. Lou and her team took us all from Ugly Betty to Runway in no time! She even got my mother in law to wear false eyelashes! I can't say enough good things about this team and hope they will be able to do all my special events!

Would definitely recommend Lou Stevens Glam Squad for hair and makeup! Having a large team of girls to help you and your bridesmaids is key! They were quick, efficient, and everything turned out wonderful!

The Glam Squad was wonderful for both my sister and my wedding. Lou is one of the best things I had for both my wedding and my portraits.

Lou and her team are pros - gorgeous hair and makeup, on location, friendly and calming on the wedding day! The hair and makeup on me and the bridesmaids was beautiful, natural, and lasted all day. Highly recommended.

While it is an expense, it was certainly worth the money. My bridesmaids were able to choose whether they wanted hair or makeup, and they all looked absolutely beautiful. Mallory was our stylist and she was so pleasant and did an amazing job. :)

Thank you so much!!! Great hair doesn't come cheap, and cheap hair isnt always great so we are glad to hear this feedback too. Wedding hair and makeup can bring sticker shock but to hear that it is well worth it is music to our ears :)

I first learned about Lou Stevens Glam Squad through another bride who highly recommended the Glam Squad for wedding hair/makeup. I had the pleasure of attending a WeddingWire event at the Glam Squad office and had such a fun experience that it pretty much sealed the deal for me to book them without hesitation.

I had Britny as my stylist and she was a blast to work with and also has a killer music playlist  I did a preview session with Britny about 3 months before the wedding. I’m so happy I did the preview with Britny because as a girl that doesn’t wear much makeup on a daily basis, I was nervous that it would be too heavy and look unnatural but Britny totally put me at ease and definitely understood what I wanted for my overall look. I highly recommend doing a preview session so you can be totally relaxed on your wedding day and know exactly what to expect with your makeup/hair. I also went with their false lashes which looked so natural; in fact, lots of guests commented on the makeup and said it looked flawless and not overly done.

It was a breeze to work with Kaitlyn in regards to payment and scheduling all the appointments (9 ladies + 1 flower girl all needed hair/makeup). I admit that their prices are not cheap but you really get what you pay for – everyone is an absolute pro, they give you great advice and really take the time to make you feel comfortable, and the fact that they will travel to your location is the cherry on top. Thank you to the Glam Squad for making me feel like a million bucks on my wedding day!
