    So elegant and fun!

All of my guest absolutely loved the asthetic of the hotel. Everyone there went out of their way to help us through the day and the night before. My husband and I were able to just enjoy our wedding and not have to worry about anything at all! It's such a gorgeous hotel!

Amazing historic venue with all the bells/whistles

I can't say enough great things about the Lord Baltimore and Cindy Baucom! From the initial meeting, Cindy was ready and willing to answer any and all questions. She was super responsive and willing to help connect me with other vendors and contacts within the hotel to ensure I had all my bases covered. Selecting the hotel was a no brainer. It has the historic vibe we wanted, while also being beautifully updated and accommodating for all our guests. The service and food was amazing. We even provided some feedback after our tasting regarding one of our dishes, and Cindy brought us back in for another personal tasting with the Chef. I never for one minute doubted that things would be perfect and go smoothly. All of our guests commented throughout the wedding on the look and feel of the hotel. We loved using all three of our spaces, and if the weather was a bit warmer you can even use the Skybar! It really is a perfect wedding venue and we are so happy we made this choice. If you're looking for somewhere in downtown Baltimore with an experienced and wonderful wedding planner than this is your place.

Everything went great. And I think this is all due to Cindy Baucom. She was amazing!!! She handled eeeeverything!! Even things not pertaining to her department. I mean, she always responded to my contacts, she always fixed any issues, gave all the appropriate answers quickly. And once she said something would be done, it would be done. My husband and I met in and are still in med school. So, prepping was obviously very difficult and it was such a great comfort knowing that I could trust Cindy and Lord Baltimore to do everything correctly, as discussed, and to fix any issues promptly. My wedding was quite memorable. Their cake vendor is also amazing. They do everything. I talked to him on the phone about a design, and then the next thing I know, I am hearing from all the guests how great the cake was ... unfortunately we didn't have time to enjoy it lol...

David Atkinson and Larry Frank from Classic Catering turned our daughter's wedding into a special event at the Lord Baltimore Hotel. From the first time we met, they assured us that they would create a unique experience. We met the chefs at the food tasting. They took an active interest in what we liked. They accommodated our wish to increase the number of appetizers and to customize the bar selection. The day of the wedding was going to be colder than anticipated. David offered to find the bride a pashmina to cover her shoulders. He went to two shops, and brought back a selection of three so she could have a choice, putting the charges on his personal credit card. In addition, he traveled to Fredericksburg, VA to purchase a gift for the happy couple because they met there. Lastly, Classic Catering arranged for a continental breakfast for the bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding.
The hotel was also very accommodating. They bent over backwards to provide early check in for every one of our guests who needed it, one on Friday at 8am. They provided the penthouse suite for us on Friday and Saturday, giving the bridal party a spacious area to prepare.
The wedding reception, itself, was spectacular. The room was beautiful. The acoustics were very good so the DJ could play at a good volume, but the crowning touch touch was the service. We received a surprising number of unsolicited compliments regarding service levels throughout the night. One table insisted that we mention Pat. Her level of attentiveness went above and beyond.
The only snafu was breakfast on Sunday morning. Between the time we signed the contract and the event itself, the end time for breakfast changed from 11:30 to 10:30 so some guests missed out. They quickly responded with apologies and a remedy. Compared to the rest of the experience, this was a non-issue.
We would highly recommend Classic Catering and the Lord Baltimore Hotel as a wedding venue.

Our Wedding ceremony and reception were both at the Lord Baltimore in the ballroom. We booked with the Lord Baltimore prior to the renovations starting, so we worked with many different people through the year until our Wedding. The best change that took place was Classic Catering taking over the reception portion. We worked with Larry and Terri and both were very understanding and addressed any concerns we had. We had specific requests for the catering and the room during the Wedding and they did all of them. Any time we had a question we could either text or email them and would receive a response. They were amazing and happy they could be there to celebrate the night with us!

The staff at the Lord Baltimore were extremely accommodating to us and our guests. Lee who is the Director of Group Sales was incredible and made sure we were happy. The staff at the front desk were very nice to us and our guests and accommodated everything they asked for. The rooms look amazing after the renovation and I did not hear one complaint from the 40 guests that booked a room the night of the Wedding. The valet staff were also extremely happy and easy to work with as well. Everyone we worked with at the hotel was great!

Highly recommend staying at the Lord Baltimore or booking a Wedding/event in the ballroom with Classic Catering!

Cate at the Lord Baltimore is a freaking life send. When I first booked with the Lord Baltimore is was when they were being bought by a private company and was no longer a Radisson hotel. Cate took over about six months before my wedding and THANK GOD she did! She did everything in her power to help us out and to make sure things were the way we wanted. The Staff at the hotel were all phenomenal and I cannot say enough good things about them.

The food was TO DIE FOR. Everybody practically licked their plates clean. The Chef is an awesome guy and easy to talk to, and the changes we wanted from our tasting were done and all was fantastic.

There were some concerns due to the renovations going on, but in the end everybody had a new room, the ballroom was gorgeous, and we had the best time of our lives!

Just recently had my wedding at the Lord Baltimore Hotel. One thing that made this practically a flawless wedding was Classic Catering. Most of my contact was with David Atkinson from Classic and he was amazing. He was so friendly, professional, and always available when needed. He answered our questions, provided the tour, and really gave us a reasonable deal on the cost of the venue and food. We received so many compliments on the food!! The ball room where the wedding was held was absolutely beautiful. It made it easy to decorate since not much was needed except for the flower arrangements. We paid for the nicer chairs and also used our own vendor for table cloths, otherwise everything was already there! David created a great outline of the room, including where the stage would be, tables, bar service, etc. The Lord Baltimore has beautiful hotel rooms, which was great for the bridal and groom party to get ready in as well as out of town guests to stay. We paid extra for the pent house which was sweet! It had some natural lighting for pictures and plenty of space for my bridesmaids to get ready. My husband and his groomsmen could then get ready in the suite which came with the costs. The day of the wedding went so smoothly and all the staff were super friendly and accommodating. I am very happy with our choice to use the Lord Baltimore. I hear that they may no longer be using Classic for catering, so it will be sad to see them go.

    Great venue, great service!

Our wedding at Lord Baltimore was truly memorable! Lord Baltimore is a beautiful venue for all aspects of a wedding experience. Colorful and beautiful Versailles Room provides an elegant and picturesque setting for a wedding vow ceremony. The balcony is an enclosed, open wrap around space for cocktail hour. The ballroom is majestic with high ceilings, chandeliers and historical architectural design that requires very little additional decoration to transform the place for a wedding. Our food was delicious, the staff was attentive and Cindy, the events manager, was always calm, assuring, highly experienced, detail oriented and totally awesome. Our only wish was a finer sleeping accommodation for the wedding party--our room ("suite") was nothing more that a very plain room. Thank you so much, Lord Baltimore. Rebkha & David

    Very pleasant experience!

The venue is beautiful! If you want a royal theme this is the place. The wedding coordinator is very easy to work with and to schedule appointments with. She explains every detail of how the day will go while walking you through every space that you will use so that you can envision it. Very reasonable and accommodating.

The Lord Baltimore is the perfect historically modern hotel to get married in. The newly renovated spaces with a modern color scheme amongst intricate ceilings and beautiful gold trimmings were amazing. The Grand Calvert Ballroom can hold over 400 people but with my 120 person wedding we closed the side rooms to create a spacious but intimate feel. I was a little nervous about having to flip the ballroom from the ceremony set up to the reception set up but it was done without a hitch in ample time. The hotel rooms kept with the modern color scheme, were spacious and clean. My room in particular which I believe was north facing was a bit dark but we brought an extra lamp from another room and managed just fine. The manager Lee was a pleasure to work with and when we had a mix up with the parking situation he was quick to investigate it. Kelly in reservations was also very nice to work with, when my guests had issues booking their rooms she was more than happy to speak with them personally to get their room booked. I will say the hotel’s online booking is a bit confusing and when you call their phone number it goes to an outside booking service that is not on the property. The valet and front desk staff was friendly and very accommodating. My husband and I were able to load some of our items into the ballroom the Thursday before the wedding and the security officers were very helpful in opening the loading dock area and allowing us to park without any hassle. Overall we had a great experience at the Lord Baltimore Hotel.

The Lord Baltimore Hotel is a beautiful venue. The moment my husband and I stepped into the ballroom, we knew it was going to be our venue for our reception (we visited a total of 5). Although I was so incredibly pleased with the renovations the hotel went through, our amazing bridal suite we got to stay in that night, and in general, the beauty of the hotel, I was quite disappointed that we went through 4 events planners before our wedding day. Unfortunately, the Lord Baltimore, during its renovations, chose to hire an outside caterer to provide the food and event planning services in the end--I would have preferred if the Lord Baltimore had stayed independent. This did create a little frustration as we had to go over our contract in detail with every planner and each time there were some differences because the planner before had not technically followed the proper rules, etc. However, I think these issues have most likely passed since they do work with a catering company now. Overall, I would recommend having a cocktail hour on the mezzanine and a reception in the ballroom--it is stunning.

Cate, the wedding coordinator at the Lord Baltimore, had a truly hard job when she joined the team in August. The hotel was sold in the middle of the event planning, which made Cate's job harder than it should have been since we had a few discussions about what was promised, etc. However, in the end, none of our guests knew that anything had happened in the past. The venue was beautiful, the food was the best wedding food anyone had ever tasted, and the Lord Baltimore team was flawless.

My now-husband and I stayed at the Lord Baltimore the weekend we got married and booked a room block there for our guests. The hotel is clean, updated (except for the showers), and has a nice vibe, particularly in the lobby. The rooftop yoga, skybar, and bakery were highlights. And the hotel was incredibly accommodating of our early check-in, late check-out, frequent valet ins and outs, and late room turnover on the wedding day (the bridal party was busy getting hair and make-up done during normal room cleaning). On the downside, they were sometimes hard to communicate with -- trying to coordinate a post-wedding brunch for friends was harder than it needed to be and I asked months in advance whether the rooftop bar would be open at midnight on our wedding night and got different answers from different people all the way up to the wedding day itself. Lastly, at risk of sounding like a bridezilla, the hotel said there would be something special for us in the room to celebrate our wedding and there wasn't. Not a big deal, but on principle, not the best in terms of customer service follow-through. And, although we were thrilled to be allowed to have our dog stay with us, the hotel's $50 pet package says it "Includes special dog bed, water and food dishes and special house made amenity" and yet none of these were provided at all. All in all, a nice hotel, but some of the finer touches could have been improved.

Ok so I used Lord Baltimore as my wedding ceremony and reception venue and for my hotel block. This venue is GORGEOUS. The rooms are comfortable and beautiful. Everything is clean and new.

That being said service was not the best. My now husband was in charge of the hotel room block and had many issues getting in touch with staff and confirming minor details. Front desk was not very welcoming and the weekend of our wedding gave some of our guests welcome bags from the other room block that was staying there. Additionally, I rented the penthouse and the first day the one elevator that goes to the PH floors was broken and I had to wait (filled with anxiety) in the lobby while they tried to fix the elevators.

The bell hops, maids, and valet attendants were SO NICE and did a great job. Definitely best staff there.

I was fortunate enough to have been grandfathered in and utilized Classic Catering for my wedding. They were the former in house caterer. Now Lord B has their own in house caterers. I don't know how we would have gotten through planning without our account exec from Classic. He was able to assist when we had a lot of issues getting in touch with staff.

All in all, the venue was gorgeous and pictures look amazing but given the amount we paid for everything, I expected better service.

In the end, we had a great wedding thanks to the blood, sweat, and tears of my parents. This hotel is honestly the WORST. Please read this review. The food is amazing-- Classic Catering does a great job, but the hotel is just not worth dealing with. I wish we had chosen a different location just to save ourselves the headache. My wedding day was perfect. But the hotel told many of our guests the hotel block was full on multiple occasions when it was only half full, the day of the wedding they gave my uncle a room that was already occupied by someone else and he walked in on them (!), they were completely unresponsive at times when we would ask questions. They promised us we could have space for brunch the next day and then they told us they had a conference there and took it back. They had no idea what was going on in their own hotel. They didn't give out the hotel gift bags I had made to many of my hotel guests. I had to call down and make sure they did it. My shower in the suite I was in wasn't working and I had to call down 3 times to get it to work on the DAY OF my wedding.

The decor is the only reason to use this venue, and they have plans to change that. I had multiple corrdinators at this site that seemed promising but the day of there were WAYY to many missing pieces. I would NOT recommend this hotel to any future bride as they plan on raising prices this year, for the money you can have a lot better service elsewhere in this city.

    Bad Experience

I was super excited to schedule my wedding with this venue. Understandably, certain venues have restrictions with covid but, this is the first venue out of the many I have encountered that not only did not allow a face to face tour but, also was horrible on communication from the first email interaction. I emailed Cindy Baucom to inquire about pricing and more information and was emailed back with about three paragraphs of basic information; no pictures, a small amount of pricing info and a paragraph explaining only FaceTime tours were allowed. Every venue I have toured at have precautions to at least allow a safe way to view a venue before signing a contract. I called by phone and spoke with Cindy Baucom and was told she would email me pictures, a proposal, more details about the venue as far as deposit information and other basic details. She said she would be away for the next week after today. I never heard back from her, no email no call...nothing. Hmm, maybe they don't want any business but, if this is how they are towards a new couple, I would steer clear from this venue.

I thought the beauty of the LB ballroom would make up for the lack of customer service but I was wrong. Lord Baltimore is TERRIBLE. Classic Catering is amazing, however, and I do not know how we would have survived without them. From the very beginning working on contracts with Lord Baltimore, we were met with rude tones, zero flexibility, and outright lies. First the hotel double booked our wedding date. Then the woman we were working with quit and the next person had no clue about any previous plans (not her fault for bad training). When she double booked our room block floor, she put me on the phone with the GM who was so nasty to me I ended up getting off the phone crying. He was just outright rude and made me feel like I was dumb for wanting them to uphold their word. (Low and behold, they took away our floor because a conference at the convention center paid more $ for more rooms than us.) On the phone call, I said we were paying customers as well and he said well paying for a whole floor is $15000 and I doubt YOU can pay that.

....Are you serious?? Wow..just wow. Believe me, this hotel could care less if there is a wedding there and they are not shy about showing it. Larry from Classic went above and beyond to sit in a meeting with us and the GM because he knew how mean he can be.

So anyway, the GM said we could not have the 18th floor and use of lounge for pictures because the conference rented it for events that day. LIES. We checked the lounge and there were ZERO events there that day so we were able to take pictures there. All year, the hotel refused to even tell us if our guests' rooms would be located near each other.

Then the hotel lost our menus, votives, and table numbers...the menus I spent $300 on for each place setting didn't even make it out in time to be used. They told us to drop decorations two days before and then on the day the staff had no idea where they were. My mom had to miss out on some photos to help them search.

I had a horrible experience with the event coordinator Terry. She was rude, condescending, and extremely unprofessional. I was looking forward to having my ceremony and reception at the Lord Baltimore, however once I got off the phone with her I knew they did not deserve my business. I would encourage the Lord Baltimore to speak with her about her mannerism for I am sure she has cost them several other deals. I pray that no bride has to ever feel how I felt once I got off the phone with her. As if my wedding day was just another random day. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS VENUE. Especially if their service is what Terry displayed. I could only imagine how they would treat my guest if they treated me that way over the phone. I was only calling to set up an appointment to see the venue. 1st impressions are lasting impressions and they sure didn't leave a great one. I have now moved forward with a better venue.

    Lord Baltimore Hotel's reply:

    Dear Bride To Be,

New relationships are started with first impressions and are often the beginning of a wonderful journey. If however we don’t create a positive impression from the start we have lost all opportunities to even begin the journey. I want to personally apologize for the feelings that we left you with. I would very much like an opportunity to chat with you and make the apology directly. Please either email or call me at any time so I may properly express my thoughts to you.

With much appreciation for the feedback,
