It Was Perfect...
We just hosted our daughter's wedding and reception here. It was perfect--plenty of room to spread out and keep everyone comfortable, countless backgrounds for amazing photography, and a viable Plan B in case of weather issues, although we got lucky with that. There is something truly heartwarming about this place that really can't be put into words. If you are searching for That Special Something, you will find it at Long Branch.Sent on 10/02/2019

I had my wedding 09.20.20 and I couldn't be happier. With COVID going on, I wasn't sure if my wedding plans were going to get postponed. Long Branch was very accommodating with the whole situation. The venue was absolutely gorgeous. I loved everything about it. All of the guests were amazed by how great of a place it was. I was so lucky to have my wedding there. The staff is very nice and easy to work with. They even gave my husband and I a wedding gift. It was very thoughtful of them. If I could do it all over again, I would definitely choose Long Branch as my venue!Sent on 10/05/2020

Beautiful secluded venue
Long Branch was the perfect venue for our spring wedding! The beautiful home is wonderful for rainy cocktail hours like we had, and the gardens and views outside are amazing too! We had a tent set up on the side of the house and it worked out just perfectly, our guests loved the venue and we all had a fabulous time. Long Branch was great to work with throughout and we could not be happier with how our day turned out.Sent on 07/13/2019

Getting married at Long Branch was one of the best decisions that my husband and I made. It was the very first venue we looked at and once we saw it, we knew it was the one! The property is absolutely gorgeous and has great views of the mountains which we absolutely love. For us, one of the selling features is that the property is on 400 acres so you will have your privacy. The inside of the mansion is breathtaking as well and full of so much history! We also had the pleasure of working with Gretchen (our wedding planner) from Dragonfly Events and Design when we signed on with Long Branch. She had a ton of wonderful ideas and listened to everything that we had in mind. Not that it needs much, but after everything was said and done, on the day of our wedding Gretchen transformed Long Branch into a sight we will never forget! I cannot recommend Long Branch or Dragonfly Events and Design enough!! Check this place out and you will so happy you did!Sent on 07/18/2018

I can't begin to tell you how perfect my Long Branch Wedding was! From the first time I stepped on the property I had the best feeling. All my wedding stress went out the door and from that moment on it was a dream working with and planning the wedding of my dreams. Long Branch is a one stop shop meaning when you sign your contract with them you get to chose a photographer, they provide you with a caterer (food and cake), a DJ, flowers and decor, a wedding planner (who is super sweet and amazingly talented), and so much more! All I had to do was give Gretchen (the wedding planner) my ideas on what I envisioned my day to look like and she really took it from there letting me focus and enjoy the best months before my wedding! My big day came and I was blown away with everything. Really above and beyond anything I could've imagined. ..not to mention Long Branch with no decor is a beautiful place. With all its history, horse fields, and rolling mountains as a backdrop it makes for the perfect location. It's been almost 6 months since my perfect day and I'm still awestruck. Do yourself a favor and check this venue out!Sent on 09/19/2017

We got married at Long Branch in September 2017 and we'd highly recommend it. From the elegant country home on the property to the great views of the Blue Ridge Mountains surrounding it, we and all our guests loved it. Being Virginia natives, we wanted something that really represented where we're from and Long Branch fit the bill. Everything went super smoothly and we were extremely happy with how our wedding turned out.Sent on 02/26/2018
Long Branch Historic House & Farm's reply:Thank you Ashley! Your wedding was so beautiful and we wish you both all the best!

We just booked Long Branch Plantation for our wedding Ceremony and reception. First of all, the location is absolutely beautiful. After a stunning and dramatic drive in on the long driveway through horse pastures, you "pop" over the hill and the plantation is front and center. The inside of the home fits our taste perfectly, think traditional southern with a horse racing theme. This was perfect for us, since my fiancé' is a horse racing fan and I love the traditional southern style. The staff have been absolutely wonderful getting back to us quickly and have allowed us to come out for 2 separate tours with our family. Overall, we love this venue and highly suggest it!Sent on 04/19/2016

As soon as my husband and I visited Long Branch, we knew it was the "one," even on a cold rainy, overcast day in February. The venue is beautiful both inside and out with breathtaking views of the mountains and gorgeous interior architecture, which made for the most beautiful pictures of our picturesque June wedding. The flexibility of allowing us to personalize the grounds with our own decorations, truly made it feel like we were home the entire day. In addition, I love that my husband and I can come back and walk around the grounds or attend one of the many events they host, whenever we want!Sent on 06/26/2017
Long Branch Historic House & Farm's reply:It was our honor and we are so grateful to have the best couples in Virginia!

This was our dream venue and on our wedding day is was simply perfect! we got married in mid October and lucked out to have a warm 75 degree day with a spectacular sunset. The manor was nice, historic with lots of rooms that people could walk through. The bristled suite for we got ready has a great view overlooking the lawn where we gir married and the men were down in the library. The rolling mountains, trees and wild horses were truly amazing. Reviewing pictures on this site sold me- its the massive staircase. It's everything!Sent on 01/21/2017

There are few places more beautiful than Long Branch on a 75 degree, cloudless day in June. We were married in the garden and had our reception under a tent. Everything was seamless and beautiful - the space is perfect for a marriage and reception, with so many areas that are naturally suited for each element of the day (from getting ready to cocktail hour to a dramatic exit). The staff was flexible, reliable and totally open to our vision for the day. Although Long Branch is "far" (depending where you are traveling from of course) it's easily accessible and has lots of parking. We felt so lucky to get married at Long Branch and couldn't recommend it more!Sent on 07/02/2014

The location was perfect!! The people helped work with us and Alex in particular kept answering all questions I had. She helped suggest places to take pictures and offered her assistance anyway she possibly could!! I would suggest Long Branch to any bride who is looking for a non traditional wedding. The elegance of the mansion made the wedding 10x more special!!Sent on 12/13/2012

I am so happy that we decided to have our ceremony and reception at Historic Long Branch! The staff was so professional and willing to work with us on just about every detail. Plus, it is such a beautiful place on its own that little decorating was required and our wedding pictures look Amazing!Sent on 11/01/2011

An amazingly beautiful venue! With the flowers and trees in bloom we had no need of extra flowers. The house is gorgeous inside and out. There is a large patio where you can erect a tent for entertaining. The grounds are well maintained and the horses in the field add to the Country Estate beauty. The staff are knowledgable and friendly. We highly recommend Long Branch for ceremony and reception. Thank you for everything!!Sent on 05/31/2011

All of my guest loved this place. They said it was very beautiful and piece full. During cocktail hour and while we got our pictures done, they give tours of the house so your guests are not standing around doing nothing. I strongly recommend this venue. They are very accommodating also with your wedding planning ideas.Sent on 02/01/2011

Rave, rave, RAVE for Long Branch! It's an historic mansion on Rt. 50 between Upperville and Winchester, and you get the house and grounds (acres!) for the weekend, with guided mansion tours during the cocktail hour. Colette, the curator there and the site coordinator, is a doll and I loved working with her. Gorgeous site! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.Sent on 02/15/2007

Historic Long Branch is an elegant, breathtakingly beautiful setting for a wedding. Colette, the curator of the historic mansion, truly loves the place, and was so easy to work with. They do many large events here, and the site is well set up for a large party. Our guests loved touring the mansion and wandering the lush grounds and gardens, and seeing the Thoroughbred racehorses in their pastures. The grounds and house provide a stunning photo backdrop. We became very fond of this special historic site, and wish we had another large event so we could throw another great party there again. The fee is quite reasonable, and it helps to preserve a wonderful historic site.Sent on 04/04/2008

Long Branch was not on my original list of venues because if was a little further from the airport than I was looking for. Most of our guests were coming from out of town so I wanted somewhere that they could get to easily. Unfortunately, my first venue fell through because of legal issues. But it honestly worked out better than we could ever have wanted because Long Branch was absolutely beautiful! I couldn't believe what I was getting for the price of the venue. You get the entire grounds, which made it so easy to have all of the wedding day there. From getting ready in the manor, to the ceremony in front of the venue, cocktail hour in the sunken garden and then a tent to the side of the manor - the flow of the day couldn't have been any better. And the photos! Wow I mean you will get amazingly beautiful photos as the venue really just takes your breathe away. I would highly recommend this place.Sent on 05/27/2016

Beautiful venue, some problems with replying to emails. We were a little surprised when everything seemed to be done but there was still dirt on the chairs and dead bugs by the windows. Overall though for a old location and an outdoor wedding and reception it was very nice. Very nice staff that was willing to help. Very pretty for pictures.Sent on 04/17/2014

Long branch is an amazing, beautiful venue that will truly make you feel like a princess. We did have slight problems in that they did not tell us there was a dog show the same day as our wedding when we booked, but on the day of, it honestly was completely unobtrusive. I didn't even notice it was going on. They have also been going through some reorganization as they grow their wedding business, but I think they have a good events coordinator now that should be around for a while!Sent on 10/14/2011

The venue is a great place to get married. The views are spectacular! The wedding planner on site was great during the initial planning process, but there wasn't a lot of communication until about a month or so before our wedding. She was very open to our ideas and helped to secure other vendors which was super helpful. However, there were some things that were discussed during planning times that were not 100 percent followed through with. I would definitely recommend Long Branch as a wedding venue, but my advice is to stay very active in your planning process.Sent on 03/06/2018
Long Branch Historic House & Farm's reply:Hi Rachel, I'm so happy that you enjoyed Long Branch, you and John are such a great couple and we enjoyed having you for your wedding day. In looking through your file, there are over 30 emails over the course of the 7 months of planning, over 10 phone calls and 3 in person meetings. We enjoyed all of our planning with you, however our only wish is that you could have let us know that you were looking for more communications. I'm sorry that we didn't meet your expectations in this regard but am so happy that you had your dream wedding. All the best!
