    Dream Day Thanks to LK!

    We had the pleasure of working with Alexis at LK Events & Design who made us feel like we were planning our wedding with both a professional and a friend. As a hands-on bride and couple with a vision for our special day, Alexis ran with our ideas while also providing great suggestions. Through everything from a year long Covid delay to various vendor meetings (introducing us to some of our favorites along the way) she was extremely level-headed, friendly, focused and helped us to make decisions efficiently. Especially in the weeks leading up to the wedding she was detail and solutions oriented making sure nothing slipped through the cracks. Through threats of bad weather (which ended up being totally gorgeous!) she coordinated with us and all our vendors to make sure we had both plans A and B covered and kept our best interest/biggest desires at heart when making decisions day of to pivot with the forecast. We along with our family were able to be fully present and enjoy every moment of our wedding day stress-free thanks to Alexis working tirelessly behind the scenes all the while with grace and a smile on her face. Thanks you, Alexis & LK, for all the laughs and lovelies!

    Fantastic!

    Alexis was such a dream to work with. She was organized, responsive, and very professional during the entire wedding planning process (including postponing!) On the day of the wedding, she was incredibly calm and collected, making sure everything ran smoothly. We can’t thank Alexis, and LK, enough for being a such an important part of our special day!

    A resource and a friend

    Alexis truly made our wedding day possible! We worked with her for over two years as we initially planned to be married in 2020 and then postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic. She was calm, cool and collected as we moved our dates and kept me organized (and sane) when the planning picked back up a year later. I felt very overwhelmed and Alexis gave me the space to enjoy the process by helping to troubleshoot and provide solutions. Arguably most importantly, she was so fun to hang out with! Given how much time you spend we spent together, throughout the planning and the wedding day itself, this was very important to me! Thank you Alexis and LK Events for the optimism, humor and attention to detail.

    Windy is amazing!

    Hiring Windy as our wedding planner was one of the best wedding decisions we made. I'm pretty convinced there is nothing she can't do! When it came to a lot of the small wedding details, my mom and I didn't even know what we didn't know. We felt so confident when Windy stepped in and helped us with all the things we hadn't thought of, such as the day-of timeline and other wedding weekend logistics. We always had lots of questions during our weekly calls with Windy, and she was always patient and understanding in answering them. In the couple of weeks leading up to the wedding when we were stressed and running around like crazy, it was a lifesaver to have Windy there to take care of the last-minute communication and coordination with vendors. Windy was a calm and reassuring presence during our rehearsal and wedding day, and I knew that if anything went wrong (which it didn't) I would 100% trust her to handle it. Our day went so smoothly and flawlessly thanks to Windy and her assistant, Elle. Plus she is just a delightful person and we loved working with her! Thank you Windy and the LK team for making our day so wonderful.

    LK was absolutely amazing!

    LK was my DOC for my wedding in November 2018. She came on board a little over a month before my wedding date and made the last few weeks of planning such a breeze. I planned my wedding with my mother and were very organized the entire time. 6 weeks out, we were a bit exhausted and LK took over at the perfect time. She coordinated with all of my vendors, put out any fires on the day of, and wrapped up the night packing out. She was so calm and organized and really let me enjoy the last few weeks without worrying about anything. She is the best!

    Only vendor you NEED to book

    Lindsay was our saving grace from the beginning, she eased any worry I had, helped us finalize decisions that weren't coming easily, and introduced us to our absolute favorite vendors. I still can't imagine how different it would've been without her recommendations. She was incredible with her response time and thoroughness, helped me stay on-vision (and on-budget), and gave me my needed doses of reality when asked. As a therapist I knew I would need my a sounding board of my own, and she did all of that and more. Her relationships with the vendors throughout Richmond is incredible and speaks to who she is a person and professional. She navigated some wedding rental shares and other issues as they arose, but always kept me focused on what mattered. As a professional she focuses on little details that make you feel important and did such a wonderful job as a "day of." My guests, especially my Mom, still remark how great of a job she did and she made our whole day go seamlessly. I never felt like my night was going by too fast, able to savor every over-planned moment, and I attribute it all to her and her team. Thank you so much!!!

    Planner perfection!

    Windy from LK Events was an absolute pleasure to work with. My husband and I planned our Richmond wedding from Colorado on a family property that required lots of planning, rentals, and logistics. She was able to execute everything perfectly even when our caterer fell through only a few months before the wedding. She was reassuring when the forecast called for 90% chance of rain (the weather ended up being perfect) and she handled everything in a timely and professional manner. She was easy to talk to and work with and I can not imagine having planned this wedding without her references, recommendations, and knowledge of the industry in the Richmond area. Thanks for everything Windy!!

    So helpful!

    The team at LK Events was a great decision as a NYC-based bride throwing a Richmond wedding. We knew we needed to hire someone to help us to make sure our vision was executed so the bride and mother-of-the-bride could relax the day ot the wedding, and my florist was quick to recommend Windy and the LK team.

    I knew Windy was the right fit when my florist told me that she once witnessed an officiant cancel during the wedding day, and within five minutes, Windy had a replacement arranged. Not to mention, we both worked at the same company on the public affairs & crisis team - I knew she was someone who could take action and make sure things happened.

    The closest I had to a crisis was when a number of my in-laws expressed the need for childcare - while we were already in Richmond for the wedding. Windy quickly hopped on the phone and had a trusted sitter arranged. Even though we didn't end up needing to use the sitter, I was extremely appreciative of Windy's quick move to find a solution for a very stressed out bride.

    Windy's recommendations were great. She recommended my videographer in particular, MOD Wedding Films, which was a real game-changer for me. She also handled a lot of the vendor coordination so that I didn't need to get involved. She handled the band, the transportation, picked up and delivered guest bags for the hotels, and coordinated extremely well with the lighting and venue. She also took care of the acrylic table numbers I needed from another vendor. It was a relief to have someone to handle all of those things so I didn't have to think about them while getting ready.

    Finally, I must mention how helpful Windy was in holding my hand all the way from NYC. I am very detail-oriented and had LOTS of questions. She always handled them like a pro - even though she had lots going on between her family and professional lives. So grateful to have had her support!

    Hiring Windy Jennings of LK Events & Design as our wedding planner was absolutely one of the best decisions we made when planning my step-daughter’s wedding. The last thing any of us wanted to do was to be stressed about the wedding as we wanted to be able to enjoy the wedding day and I can honestly say we did not have to stress about a single thing on the day of the wedding. It was absolute perfection. I can say with confidence that this was due, in large part, to Windy’ services. Windy is one of the most organized individuals I have ever met and that is coming from a very organized Type A personality. From beginning to end, Windy took meticulous care of each and every detail. She recommended vendors that matched our personalities and design aesthetic. She always got back to us immediately and there was not a question she could not answer. The day before the wedding the weather forecast was rain and the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour were scheduled to be outside. Windy walked through various options with us and even though we had to deviate from the initial plan, the contingency plan was perfect. What could have been a very stressful moment was handled with professionalism and finesse and it was the perfect wedding day. Windy moved seamlessly and effortlessly behind the scenes the whole day and made the wedding truly magical, amazing and everything we had envisioned. We highly recommend Windy to everyone who wishes to have the most enjoyable, stress-free and absolutely stunning wedding.

    Windy went above and beyond to make the day seamless. She was organized and efficient, very responsive to emails/calls (no matter how silly my questions were), and willing to do so much more than we expected her to (like assemble the welcome bags, for example). She was a great resource for learning where to find certain, sometimes random items (rolling tables), and great at suggesting ways to make the day easier for everyone. She was also great the day of, keeping things running on time and keeping me calm! One particular hero moment that comes to mind–– mid-reception, a guest asked that we help figure out transportation for some older family who wanted to leave before the scheduled bus time, and Windy hopped right on it and got the bus to do an extra loop to the hotel on the fly. Go Windy! And thank you :)

    Lindsay was amazing. We were hesitant about hiring a wedding planner at first, since we thought we had all of the "big" items completed. Little did we know, there was so much we DIDN'T know. Every single vendor she recommended was amazing, she responded within minutes of an email or telephone call, and all of her suggestions were first class. Leading up to the event she took care of all of the last minute "to do" items, including welcome bags, favors, and anything else you might think of. We didn't have to worry about anything the week of the wedding. She coordinated with our florist and made design suggestions that we never would have dreamed of - and they were amazing! The day of, she coordinated with responsible members of the wedding party so that we didn't have to worry about anything. She made sure everyone knew and understood their responsibilities, and did so with an unparalleled level of professionalism. Lindsay is the absolute best!

    As overwhelming as wedding planning can be, choosing a qualified planner is critical! We made the best decision in hiring Windy Jennings of LK Design. She is so experienced and kept us on track from start to finish. Windy is super organized and her timelines are right on point. She guided us through some overwhelming decisions and her calm demeanor was always reassuring. Windy also had great respect for our budget and helped us find ways to use our money wisely. She made herself available to us any time, day or night and answered our million questions! Our wedding was amazing and was everything we imagined! Thanks to Windy, she made it all happen!

    Lindsay- Did an AMAZING job in the coordination and help with our 9/30/17 Wedding. She is an absolute doll to work with she is true professional and and helped me pull my vision of our wedding day to life. At times I felt like she could read my mind through the entire planning process! She has other brides during her busy season but she truly makes you feel like you are her only one! Her ideas and high energy are contagious and I would recommend her a million times again and agin to help in our most special day!

    I highly recommended using LK Events and Design! Windy was amazing and made the whole planning process enjoyable! She was easy to work with and always responded quickly to any question we had. She was great with managing all the vendors and our huge wedding party! Everyone loves working with her and she gives great advice on vendors to use! We had a very large wedding and everything went perfect! We couldn't of asked for a better night!

    Lindsay is an absolutely amazing wedding planner. She caught every detail and made our wedding day flawless. She has a great eye for design, and made suggestions throughout the planning process to bring our "rustic elegance" to life. She expertly wrangled our family and friends during the rehearsal and wedding day, and kept everything running smoothly during our reception.     As a self-proclaimed DIY bride, we hired Windy to help keep us on schedule, manage vendors and day-of activities. I've known Windy for a few years and she has a history of being an excellent planner so there was no doubt about hiring her for our wedding. She knows the industry and was able to provide us with a list of awesome vendors and we ended up working with everyone she recommended.

    In addition to help with vendors, we really wanted our wedding to be unique and fun. Windy offered cool suggestions like pre-wedding cocktails (wine slushies) which were a huge hit with our guests. And, because I am a graphic designer, I had very specific ideas for the look of our wedding and Windy executed that vision perfectly.

    We were extremely pleased with her service and would recommend her to any type of bride. From the DIY brides like me, to the bride who needs everything from the top down, Windy can handle it with class, style, professionalism and lots of laughter!

    LK events & Design was a recommendation from a friend and I'm so glad that we picked this company. Lindsay was professional, yet very easy going. Our families were both impressed by how organized everything was during rehearsal and our wedding. She has great connections to vendors & was incredibly accommodating to our many customs, like the Chinese lion dance & the Korean Tea Ceremony we had planned for the wedding. She always responded right away, whether it be email, text, or phone. She even picked up our donuts for our dessert table for us! We would recommend Lindsay for any future event!

    When starting the planning process for our wedding, we had a vision of what we wanted for the day and had booked a beautiful venue in Charlottesville. When all of the tiny details of the wedding started to become overwhelming, working with both Lindsay and Windy with LK Events and Design brought a sense of calm. We began planning the wedding with Lindsay, and her creativity brought our vision to life. Lindsay answered each miniscule question with sincerity and calm, and consistently suggested options and directed us to great vendors. We knew from the outset that Lindsay would not be our “day-of” coordinator, but that her colleague, Windy, would come on board to run the day. Windy did not disappoint. As we transitioned to final details with Windy, she was aware of each and every plan and executed our day with precision and patience. She coordinated with each vendor, kept us on schedule throughout the day, and even packed up our limo with our belongings while we finished celebrating with our family and friends.     Our day could not have gone off like it did without Windy at LK Events. We had a lot of details and personalized pieces, and were in the best of hands! My biggest fear was not relaxing on our wedding day, and because of Windy I was completely at ease. It even rained and I didn't have to worry! My theory is if you are going to spend any amount of money on your wedding day- you have to enjoy it and let go. We worked through smaller details and she always had great tips and vendor recommendations. Having a planner and day-of coordinator allowed us to do just that! We cannot say thank you enough, but future brides---just do it, you will not regret! AMAZING!

    LK Events and Design is absolutely, without a doubt, the best wedding planner service in Richmond and surrounding areas and I can even go so far to say, even in the entire state of Virginia. Lindsay Kennedy is the best!!!!!! We interviewed 4 different planners last May to help us with our daughter’s wedding. From the very first moment that we met Lindsay we knew that she was the perfect fit for us. She listened to all of our thoughts and wishes and immediately came up with a plan, full of extremely unique and new ideas, which always came to fruition. While being very professional at all times she was also so much fun to work with. At times I thought she was more excited about our wedding than we were. She truly created a beautiful, unforgettable fairytale wedding for us. I cannot praise her enough!!!!! She really is the best!!!

    AMAZING SERVICE! Windy Jennings was our wedding planner for our May 6, 2017 wedding. She was absolutely spectacular. Windy offers professional advice on which expert vendors to use. All of our vendors were perfect, and all were her suggestions. She flawlessly wrangled our bridal party and family members with class and professionalism. Windy ALWAYS has a smile on her face. Windy is highly organized and constantly in touch. She even responded to an email I sent her at 11PM on my eve of my wedding day (crazy bride status!!). She made me feel calm and reassured me when I needed it (which is hard to feel the week of your wedding) and I was 100% confident she had everything perfectly under control. Brides, you need someone who you can trust on your wedding day, and Windy is a wonder-woman. Nothing (that I knew of) went wrong on my wedding day (and if it did I am sure Windy took care of it before it became a problem) and I have to applaud her for making the day a complete success. Grooms, you need a coordinator to make your future wife (and her mother) sane during the wedding planning process, it can totally break someone down, Windy was a relief and a source of reassurance. I can't express in enough words the gratitude I feel having had Windy coordinate my special day. Thank you a million times over, Windy! PERFECTION!!!!!!!!!!

    I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lindsay Kennedy and LK Events. From our first phone call with Lindsay, I knew she would be the perfect mix of calm, reassuring, knowledgeable and incredibly detail-oriented. We hired Lindsay to be our month-of coordinator, but in the year leading up to the wedding Lindsay went above and beyond. Discussing details of the wedding with her was like talking to a close friend. We never felt like we were just a number or just "the October 1st wedding." She was so approachable, friendly and upbeat but her guidance showed a deep knowledge and shrewd understanding of all the inner workings of the wedding industry. She never let us get confused or overwhelmed because she instantly understood our personalities and our vision and put our minds at ease with every conversation.

    All of her preparations in the months leading up to the wedding allowed her to know our wedding like it was her own so that by the time we got to the big day I completely handed over all control and decisions to her and didn't have to worry or second guess anything. I am sure she answered a million last minute questions from vendors and guests and made quick decisions on things I would have never contemplated, but I never saw or heard it (and for that I am eternally grateful). Problems that could have derailed the day became insignificant hiccups - not only because of her quick thinking and creative problem solving, but also because she was calm, composed and smiling while she fixed the issues. You cannot help but feel relaxed and taken care of when Lindsay is in charge. She allowed us to keep our anxiety levels at a minimum and enjoy our day - something that is invaluable to any bride and groom.

    I was lucky enough to have a team of fantastic wedding vendors, but Lindsay was by far the best of the best. If you are debating whether or not to hire a wedding planner or day-of coordinator, stop questioning it and talk to Lindsay!

    We absolutely loved working with Windy! She was a total pro, from helping us figure out table placements to rain contingency plans for our plantation wedding, she was a text or email away. She did so much to make our special day beautiful and handled everything - from rainy site visits to last-minute ceremony changes - like a pro! We couldn't have done it without her!

    Lindsay was fantastic to work with. Every time I had a question she was quick to respond. She organized everything so that my mom and I could just enjoy the day. She worked with us on ideas and timeline to ensure everything flowed smoothly. She also took care of all the little things you forget about - programs, collecting gifts, printed menus, hotel gift bags. She was also able to bustle my 12+ bustle dress which was great. She even took home all of our gifts and dropped them off to us the next day. Lindsay provided recommendations on local vendors as well. Lindsay made my wedding fantastic and I couldn't have imagined doing it without her! My mom, my husband, and I were all very pleased!

    Lindsay is FANTASTIC at her job. We had the type of wedding where we had to bring everything to the venue, nothing was included. Needless to say it was A LOT of moving pieces and Lindsay handled it flawlessly start to finish. She was able to handle all of the day-of issues for us, schedule modifications and things that popped up without reaching out to us at all so that we could enjoy the day. We completely trusted her judgment, as we'd been working with her for the last few months and she put us at ease. I had a pretty particular vision in mind and Lindsay completely understood it and brought what I was envisioning to life. I would certainly recommend her to anyone getting married.
