We got married the weekend of June 14th, 2025, at Key Largo Lighthouse – Coral Beach. Our journey to our weekend hit some bumps along the way and we must say – Lisa and Ump stepped right up, embraced us in open arms and with the best of hugs that only come from true love and passion for what they do! From our first phone call to our 3+ hour “quick meet and greet’, to our wedding weekend was just the highlight and spark back into our celebration. When we initially started planning, we had a different caterer. 7 months in, we had no kind of menu, no communication and just felt unheard and unseen. Then the best thing happened! We got introduced to LJ’s Catering. ONE PHONE CALL! That’s all it took! 20 minutes of a late evening, and we were over the moon! The spark was back into our celebration. We had the menus pretty much decided – everything came together in just mere minutes! The hard part was, watching all the videos of food that were being sent to us that night and not being able to eat everything right then and there. The constant communication, the constant out pouring of love from LJs truly shined. Finally, our celebration time came! We started off the weekend with the Pig Roast BBQ – And brisket! Must have LJ’s Brisket! Saturday, we had red snapper, jerk chicken and much more! Sunday morning was the perfect relax, chill, unwind and Brunch! Not only did their love shine through for us, the couple – but it flowed to every one of our guests! Everyone to this day continues to talk about the food, and LJs! Everything was truly amazing! In the moment, everything is flying, and time loses itself – however Lisa and Ump of course were watching and ensuring that we took the moment to sit down and eat! “Don’t try to ignore them, it won’t happen!” We can’t say enough nice things about LJ’s and their staff. We truly feel like they’re now a part of our family! Truly a vendor to choose - watch as they continue to shine! With much love - Brent & Donnie -

Lisa and Ump were absolutely incredible to work with. With less than 30 days before our wedding, I decided to switch to their company for plated meals, and they made the transition seamless. Their professionalism, flexibility, and attention to detail were outstanding. The food was exceptional, perfectly prepared, and served warm, which is impressive for an outdoor wedding. Their entire team was wonderful, organized, and provided excellent service throughout the evening. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting both the food and the staff. If you have the opportunity to hire them, do it. You won’t be disappointed. -

First and foremost, the food was delicious!! I never expect food at a wedding to be really good, but LJ and Umphrey proved me wrong! My guests are still complimenting us on our wedding reception dinner and by far the BEST coconut cake I've ever had. The service was perfect and it felt like we working with friends we've known for years. Thank you LJ and Umphrey!! -

Excellent experience - 10/10 !!
LJ's catered for our wedding reception. I had a wonderful experience with them from start to finish. The owners are very friendly and responsive. Our food was absolutely amazing! The bartenders also did an excellent job - they were happy to make our chosen his/her signature cocktails, which were a big hit. The owners made sure to stop by to congratulate my husband and I, gave us a hug along with well-wishes, and we all took a photo together at the end of the night - they are so sweet! I loved working with this team and could not recommend them enough! Thank you again for all of your help. :) -

Umphrey and his team were so great for everything. He was so easy to get ahold of and plan with and flexible until very close to the day of the wedding with headcount and menu. All of our guests loved the food and his staff was so fun! The bartender made sure me and my husband were taken care of and friends commented on how he went above and beyond to help them get the right drinks. Our groomsmen were even able to convince some of the catering staff to join in dancing on the dance floor and they were great sports! I definitely recommend them for your wedding! -

This catering team is amazing. I am from Illinois and had a wedding in Key Largo Florida. With this team, I never had to worry about the food. We had a three day event, and they catered it all. Friday’s theme was cheeseburger in paradise. We had burgers and ribs, all amazing. Saturday was our wedding, and the food was spectacular. The bartenders took care of my guests. Sunday, we had a full brunch. What started out as a vendor ended up as family. They took care of everything! I even had a few guests with dietary concerns, and this team provided my guests with great alternatives. My guest normally can’t eat at weddings, and our wedding they left happy and satisfied. This team is the best. -

We used LJs for our wedding and rehearsal a few weeks back and honestly I have nothing but amazing things to say about these folks and their food! People are still talking about how amazing the tacos were from our rehearsal dinner. Lisa and Umphrey felt like family to us- they even brought in table linens when we found out ours were way too small. They even passed out our desserts brought in by others. You guys were so sweet and amazing! I wish we lived in the keys and could see you and eat your food way more often! Many many hugs to you and your fam- The best- do not hesitate to go with LJs! -

6 months before our wedding we changed venues. They went above and beyond to make sure everything worked out! Ump was understanding and willing to work with us at our new venue!! He was great through the whole process!

Lisa and Umphrey and their staff were absolutely amazing! They went above and beyond for our rehearsal, wedding and day after brunch. All of our guests came up to us telling us how great the food was and many guests got second helpings. We went with the key West dinner option and Their red snapper is out of this world. They were always available to speak with me via text or email and allowed us to personalize our items. I also used them for table settings and linens and Lisa made each table look very beautiful. I would highly recommend using them! Thanks again L&J! -

Please use this caterer! You won’t be disappointed. Everyone was professional and patient with me. The catered for my family for the weekend. If I could do it all over again, I would still hire LJs! -

The food was amazing, they were prompt professional and set everything up, they went out of their way to make sure our wedding was wonderful ! Their tropical chicken is quite possibly the best chicken I have ever had ! ! ! they home make all of their sweets, and SLOW smoke all of their AMAZING BBQ ( The ribs are to die for ! ) all in all if I could give more stars I would. -
Brandon Sent on 12/23/2017I can't say enough great things about working with Umphrey and Lisa Jackson from LJ's Events & Catering. I had such great communication with Umphrey while getting quotes, booking, planning, and discussing menus. I took a huge risk by coordinating all these things from over 1000 miles away in Chicago, however they did not disappoint. Like marriage, I took a blind leap of faith and planned a menu for our rehearsal dinner, reception dinner, and farewell Sunday brunch without ever meeting with or taste testing. Everything came out great! Here was our menu:
Rehearsal dinner: Taco bar with fixings and margarita station. My only feedback was that we ran out of food, but may have been because we had some very hungry guests!
Reception Cocktail/Apps: Raw Bar station (shrimp cocktail, Florida stone crab claws, and oyster on the half shell), chicken and beef empanadas, glazed meatballs, hummus and veggies
Bar Service: they supplied the mixers, ice, and bar tenders. We had them provide for signature drinks of Her- Paloma and His- Old Fashioned. They were amazing and went out of their way to meet us at the liquor depot to advise us in how much alcohol to purchase for BYOB.
Reception Dinner: BBQ buffet (smoked brisket, smoked jerk chicken, and island BBQ ribs), salad, plantains, grilled veggies
Reception Dessert: We opted not to have a wedding cake and instead planned our own "donut cake spread." LJ's made dessert table for us consisting of mini Key Lime pies, cookies, sheet cake, and baked goods.
Reception Late night: mini cheeseburgers
Sunday Brunch: All you can eat eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, omelet station, yogurt station, potatoes, breads/bagels, coffee, and juice. My only feedback was we wanted stronger coffee, which I am sure could be requested. We ended up using our own extra dark roast coffee beans we had kept in our house. They were also able to provide an endless mimosa bar, but we opted to do that on our own. We did end up running out of champagne this way. -
