Akeila Sent on 01/19/2016I have nothing bad to say about Lisa Hoppe Travel Consulting. I live in Illinois, and I discovered them through a local wedding expo I went to. I mostly communicated through email, and they were always following up with me when I didn't get back to them right away. Several different people helped me (Mona, Amber, Lisa), and everyone was a pleasure to work with. I love that my flights are included with the cost of the all inclusive stay, and that I didn't need to stress about booking a honeymoon on my own. I'm not a wedding planner, but I feel like I can handle most of the wedding details because it's local, and I can go into a physical location if I need to deal with something. I planned my honeymoon for a week in Jamaica--that's not somewhere I could just swing by if I have questions! So this experience has been invaluable because it took so much stress off of me. My honeymoon isn't until September, but I can't wait! (I'm also looking forward to working with them on future vacations). :)Lisa Hoppe Travel Consulting's reply:

User2475363 Sent on 12/20/2015Lisa Hoppe was a wonderful travel agent, from helping us put together a perfect honeymoon, walking us through the all-inclusive process, and following up afterwards. She helped us pick out a resort that suited us best, made travel arrangements for us according to our criteria, created a honeymoon fund website with descriptions and nice pictures, sent us gifts, got us multiple upgrades, and wrote us a holiday card. Her knowledge of the resorts was extremely helpful and made us realize the finer distinctions between different locations, in things like differences in flight schedules, beach quality, night life, restaurant types, etc. We got exactly what we expected on our honeymoon, which is really a credit to her since we were newbies with a lot of questions. User2185728 Sent on 06/18/2015My husband and I utilized this agency for our anniversary trip, and were disappointed. I didn't feel as though this agency was very professional. It took almost 2 weeks for them to actually send an invoice after I had made my deposit, and a couple reminder e-mails...
We had used a different agent for our honeymoon vacation a few years ago, who was amazing, but she is no longer in the business. We thought we would get the same service here, but that was not the case.
There really wasn't any value added to our trip by utilizing them. We stayed at a Sandals, and should have just booked directly through them. In addition, we had inquired about possibly changing the dates of our trip (we were more than 100 days before we departed) and they were going to charge us about $200 to move the dates. Sandals wasn't charging anything (they are very flexible with date changes that far out)...it was the agency. They had also not told us about this fee prior to booking. I asked them repeatedly where this information was, and received the run-around. It seemed almost as though they were just making it up as they go..
In my opinion, it was a bigger hassle booking with them, than it would have been booking on our own.Lisa Hoppe Travel Consulting's reply:
Hi Kayce, we are disappointed to hear that you felt our service was lacking when helping you plan your anniversary trip. It sounds like you didn't have issues with the vacation itself, so we hope that did enjoy your visit to Sandals! In regards to the length of time it took to get your invoice, we did let you know within the first week that we were waiting for your Sandals Select discount to be deducted from the total balance due before we sent the invoice out. Our invoices are not automatically sent out, we do manually enter it all to ensure that things are correct for each client so sometimes it can be a week or so to get sent out. When you requested to change your travel dates, it was 47 days prior to your trip (request was made Feb 19 and your travel dates were May 8). The $50/person change fees were through the wholesaler your trip was booked with, not with Sandals, as well as our agency $75 change/cancellation fee, which was mentioned before you booked the trip and on each invoice that was sent to you. We had discussed travel insurance with you on several occasions and, had you purchased it, the wholesaler fees would have been waived. Unfortunately, because you declined the insurance, you were subject to penalties and fees associated with changing or canceling your reservation. We apologize for any miscommunication regarding these policies and I would be happy to personally discuss things further with you if you would like to contact our agency directly.
