and her team are incredible!! Hiring a wedding planner and specifically this team was one of the best decisions we made when it came to planning our wedding. They went above and beyond to make sure that every part of our day was what we had envisioned. The day of the wedding my husband and I felt like a special guest at our own event because of how well they had managed the whole event. There was not one ounce of worry or stress we felt going into the day and not one thing went wrong! I cannot say thank you enough to everyone who put in effort to make our day something we will remember for the rest of our lives! -

We lived out of State and hiring My Wedding Planner was one of the first things we did in the wedding planning process and probably one of the best decisions we made. Working with Kaelyn throughout the whole process made everything so easy. Her and her team provided great vendor recommendations and were always very responsive to any questions we had along the way. Kaelyn and her team also made the day of incredibly stress free and they ensured everything went smoothly even with last minute adjustments having to be made due to weather. We would highly recommend My Wedding Planner! -

Kaelyn and her team at My Wedding Planner are the real MVP of all things wedding. I truly cannot fathom what wedding planning would have been like without them! We got married in Lexington but live in Phoenix, so her help was truly indispensable. We could not have made a better decision to use My Wedding Planner!
Kaelyn was suggested to me by a friend who used her. After speaking with two other potential planners, we felt Kaelyn had the experience, savvy and reliability that we needed. Kaelyn does not mince words - she knows her shit and isn’t afraid to be honest. As a person who appreciates clarity, honesty and openness, Kaelyn was a perfect fit for us.
We worked with My Wedding Planner for well over a year during our engagement, and Kaelyn was always available to assist. She kindly listened to all my TikTok-generated ideas, many of which we implemented. She kept our planning timeline on track, visited venues with us, discussed pros and cons and provided options if we didn’t like what was available. Kaelyn is incredibly well connected in the community and never came up short when we needed suggestions. She helped with rehearsal dinner, floral, makeup, hair, video, our hotel block and more!
There truly isn’t enough space to cover all the ways Kaelyn made our wedding wonderful. We used her full service planning, so she presented vendor options, we looked them over and discussed with her, and she did all the arranging of contracts and provided payment reminders. The week of the wedding she picked up decor, retrieved and returned glassware we rented, provided emotional support, talked me off ledges, fixed fallen hair, repaired broken suspenders, adjusted our timeline when it got significantly off course, decorated, directed, handed out vendor tips, managed to keep my husband on task and I’m sure there are tons more things she did that I didn’t even notice! After the wedding she mailed in our marriage license so we had one less thing to worry about. If you want to enjoy your wedding day, you need My Wedding Planner!
When we were first beginning wedding planning and discussing our budget, I thought: Gosh, Kaelyn’s help is a chunk of our budget, I hope it’s worth it. As time went on and the wedding grew closer and finally happened, I thought: We did not pay this woman nearly enough. She is worth her weight in gold.
Thank you Kaelyn, Amber and all the others on the team who helped us along the way. You are all fantastic, professional, fabulous people who have a true passion for what they are doing. Working with you all was a dream. I will recommend you to everyone!
Bonus points because Kaelyn and her business is LGBTQ+ friendly!

We had an absolutely phenomenal experience with Lexington Event Company. They were thorough (every single detail), kind, helpful and made the process of planning a wedding (during a global pandemic, no less) so much easier than had we taken the task on ourselves. At the last minute we were forced to make adjustments in order to be able to proceed with our day and Kaelyn and her team did it swiftly and without stress to anyone in our party. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to their contribution to what could have been a cancelled event all together - and made it my favorite night of my life where I got to marry my best friend! -

Kaelyn and her team were nothing short of amazing! Best decision we made in planning this wedding. Due to the pandemic we had challenges and changes and Kaelyn navigated them all for us with grace and optimism. She created a timeline that was a work of art and got everyone to the dance floor which is what we wanted. Her work ethic is second to none. She handled last minute issues I didnt have to worry about. In short as MOB I got to put my phone away and enjoy this once in a lifetime day with my daughter and that is priceless! -

She worked with my husband and I throughout the planning process whenever we had questions, helped created a day-of timeline and ordered and furnished our linens. She was super easy to work with, responsive to email and text and we are so happy we chose to hire her. LeAnn coordinated our rehearsal which was really helpful to have a professional guiding you and she was great! On wedding day, Christy and LeAnn put everything that I had been dreaming and planning for 22 months in to action and allowed my family and I to just focus on us on wedding day. They set up the ceremony and reception spaces, coordinated our vendors, helped coordinate photos and kept the reception moving along so nothing got missed. I cannot say enough good things about these ladies and recommend to all brides on the fence about day-of coordinators- DO IT! It is beyond worth the money! -

Like another reviewer, my terrible experience with Lexington Event Company (Lex Effect at time of hire) in large part is due to poor contingency planning on the part of Kaelyn, the owner which resulted in a lot of problems on our wedding day. When I interviewed them, Kaelyn promised that while she'd be the point of contact/main planner for us, there'd be another full-time planner working on our wedding who would jump in anytime if anything happened to Kaelyn leading up to/at the wedding. This was the main reason why we chose to hire this company.
A few days before the wedding, we met in person to confirm all final details and to ask once again if we needed a backup guest in case she had questions during the wedding. She said (paraphrasing) That's not needed, you shouldn’t worry about that - that's why you hired us.
Come wedding day, Kaelyn and her team showed up 2 hours late with no communication. She went right to setting things up and we didn’t see her until hours later. We had a small private ceremony (with outfit changes) planned for before the main ceremony, all of which she was not present for. Except for saying that initial hi, we did not see her again until we were lined up to walk down the aisle.
At which point, I asked her if she had placed the wedding welcome sign that I hand painted at the ceremony location and taped X marks on the grass for the wedding party positions as she had said she would, she confirmed she had – that was not accurate. Then, right before we were to enter our reception barn, she told us she was feeling very sick and asked if it would be okay if she left us in the hands of her two interns who she said knew all of our wedding details. What followed: (1) several issues with our bar and drink service including a wrong last drink time; (2) our wedding party was instructed (by the interns) to break down the wedding until we corrected that it was LexEffect’s responsibility, delaying their departure to the after party; (3) seating arrangements (despite providing the table seating numbers in advance); and (4) several other problems that resulted in us troubleshooting problems for at least 45 minutes during the reception and causing us to miss a large chunk of time at our after party. Essentially, her interns, while very nice, were not prepared and were not informed about our wedding.
After the wedding, when we told Kaelyn all the problems we had, she took it as us complaining about her being sick. While we felt bad that she was so sick, we were essentially left with no wedding coordinator from 7pm - midnight. The issue wasn’t that Kaelyn was sick, issues like that come up, the problem is that we were promised a specific back-up plan and the back-up plan did not exist and/or failed.
I've resisted putting this review up for a long time, but hiring Kaelyn was the main disappointment of our wedding as issues with her and her team permeated the entire day. We had not initially budgeted for a coordinator and decided to splurge in order to make sure things went smoothly for everyone involved. In the end, we would have been so much better off not hiring anyone.
