April was absolutely amazing! I cannot believe how awesome my day was thanks to her. She was so helpful throughout the entire process. The day of I hardly saw her (but that's because she was busy making sure my day was perfect!). The part that makes her the best, by far, is the fact that she was so wonderful when dealing with my (extremely) crazy/rude mother and grandmother. I felt really bad for her because of that, but she handled it so well. The gazebo was such a beautiful place to get married, and April was accommodating for all of the quirky things we wanted to do during our ceremony. The reception could not have been more beautiful - everything was set up perfectly and the food was absolutely delicious. We chose a buffet for $$ purposes (GET THE STUFFED CHICKEN!), but it went so quickly and smoothly. I totally recommend them!

In my career in advertising and at the PA House of Representatives, I've been responsibe for plannnig countless client events, receptions, hearings, dinners and the like. April Russell is, without a doubt, the most professional caterer/planner I have ever worked with. My daughter-in-law and I scouted just about every venue in the area and within minutes of meeting April and viewing Letort, she was handed a deposit check.
April met with Kim and family members a number of times, conducted a food tasting session and fielded innumerable phone calls with patience, good advice, suggestions and above all...diplomacy. We also had our rehearsal dinner at the facility and could not have been more pleased with the service, food and accommodations that were made for us. I've already referred April and her team at Letort to others and would be glad to make myself available as a reference. There really aren't enough words (or stars) to describe how pleased we all were with the wedding of my son and his lovely bride.

I couldn't have found a better place to have my wedding ceremony/reception. April and her team do fantastic work. I could always get a hold of April if I had a question or needed to speak with her. She was very timely at getting back to me. The food was absolutely amazing!! All of our guests had nothing but great compliments on everything, especially the food! You truly get more for your money at Letort View! It is very beautiful place to have your wedding :o) I'd recommend it to anyone!!

My daughter's wedding was this past weekend and it was wonderful ... even though it rained. April was our LeTort wedding coordinator and she was fantastic. This was one of her first weddings to coordinate at LeTort and she went way above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. It rained and there was an accident at the gate so the wedding guests were held up but the wedding still went off without a hitch. I would recommend LeTort to anyone planning a wedding and reception.

I can't believe that the LVCC has gotten any bad reviews! I had my reception at the LVCC last Saturday, and had a WONDERFUL experience with them! I stopped by on a whim one day without an appointment, and I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome and given a tour. I was encouraged to take pictures, and was even shown the HUGE selection of centerpieces and table skirting...all before I booked a thing! I was even given a little book that had budgeting help, a timeline of when things needed to be done, planning sheets, etc......again, all before booking a thing! Needless to say, when I walked in I loved everything about the venue and I called later that day to book it for my wedding. One major thing that I knew I wanted was a big dance floor, and they have an awesome one! Katie Stewart was extremely friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. She and I emailed back and forth several times during the planning process, and she responded promptly each and every time. Honestly when I talked to her, I felt like I was the only bride she was helping. She even remembered details about my wedding (how I wanted centerpieces, what food we were thinking about, the fact that I had one person at my reception that was allergic to strawberries, etc.) from one appointment to the next! Since my fiance lived out of town, she met with my mom and me and answered all of my questions. We received a huge packet of the tons of choices for food and drinks (oh yeah, did I mention there's no sales tax since it's an army base!? GREAT for brides on a budget!!), and my fiance and I came in on a Saturday for a tasting. The food is absolutely delicious, and we received TONS of good reviews about it all night long! As far as decorating, Katie and the staff at LVCC make everything so easy for the bride, which is definitely appreciated! All you have to do is tell them or show them how you want things to look on one table, and they take a picture and write things down so that everything looks perfect for your day! My mom and I made a long tulle decoration for the banister in the lobby, and they were more than happy to attach it to the banister the day of the wedding. We even reused the pew bows as decorations at the reception! The wedding party had appetizers and drinks brought to us before we entered the reception, and once we were in there, we were served our salads, main courses, and desserts! Katie and the LVCC staff literally took care of EVERYTHING that a bride could possibly worry about! I cannot say enough good things about the staff, the service, or the venue. The main room has beautiful chandeliers, and the bar and adjoining rooms are decorated with tasteful and gorgeous pictures and furniture. We had a lot of out of town guests, and all of them came up to us and complimented the service, the food, how clean everything was, and even how pretty the rest of the base was! We had pictures taken at the darling gazebo that's across from the LVCC, and they were absolutely stunning! If you are getting married anywhere near Carlisle, check this place out.....you won't be disappointed!!!

We were so happy with how our wedding reception turned out. April did an amazing job with everything. She was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. We were a little concerned when we first booked with them because the person that was in charge before April seemed clueless about our event. A few months before we found out that April would be taking over our reception, we were so relieved because right away we knew she would do a great job. She took care of pretty much everything for us and made it stress free so we could enjoy our reception. We even had people at our wedding compliment how great letort was especially all the friendly servers, bartenders and of course April. We couldnt have been any happier with our reception!

April and her staff were wonderful to work with. The only reason I chose not to give flexibility 5 stars was because it was located on an army post. It was our personal choice to do this and we were fully aware of having to go through checkpoints and abiding by post rules. No issues with this whatsoever! Because we enjoy history so much it actually was very cool to have the reception on post because it added such a different spin to our pictures. We got to take pictures on the front steps of the commanding general's house, and the decor in the community center had such an authentic and historical feel to it while still maintaining a modern sensibility. We had a lot of dietary restrictions for our guests, and they were able to accommodate vegetarians, gluten-free, and very picky eaters ! We had a blast with April and her staff! They were fun to work with, gave great advice all the time, and were very willing to work with us as they were able to in order to ensure that everything went smoothly. We would highly recommend Letort View Community Center to anybody who was getting married!

Letort View was a wonderful venue for my daughter's wedding. It is elegant and has classic charm and the value can't be beat anywhere. The entire wedding party and guests were all from out of town. This was a central location for everyone to meet. This was such a gem of a find too. I booked it in January for a June wedding (I wouldn't recommend this), but for us it all came together wonderfully, thanks to April, the wedding coordinator at Letort View. We had planned on a lovely outside service in the gazebo, but it poured. April and her staff set-up the inside for the ceremony and it was lovely. The food was very good and plenty available on the buffet.

This was the perfect location to hold our wedding reception. The place was beautiful! The food was phenomenal!! We got so many compliments on the food. April was so wonderful to work with. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone!!

April Spinks is my hero! I would not have been able to make it to my wedding day as a sane person without her. She was flexible and understanding. She was willing to meet with my photographer and show her around the area I was having the ceremony and answer any questions the photographer had. She connected me with the DJ, Baker, and place I rented my chairs from (I got married outside). The DJ, Baker, and rental place were all professional and just as easy to work with as April was.
The day of my wedding was absolutely stress free for me, despite the late arrival of flowers (which April quickly sorted out!) Everything was perfect and I would highly recommend April and the Letort to anyone.

My wedding day was the best day of my life!
April from Letort was so helpful with every part of it. She arranged for my reception to start 30 min earlier than we'd previously arranged because I was worried that dinner would be served too late (and even though another wedding reception was planned for earlier in the same day). She arranged my flower centerpieces (they looked LOVELY).
All of my guests RAVED about the food and the coffee (I'm not sure why the coffee was so amazing, everyone commented on it the following day).
I was amazed that everything was so inexpensive! We paid separately for a cash bar and the buffet (not the specific wedding package) and paid so much less than I budgeted. PLUS, we found out afterward that we didn't have to pay the 6% PA sales tax because it's on a military installation (an instant 6% savings for us!)
The venue is extremely large and cost almost nothing to rent! It's elegant like an old country club and historic. All of my friends and family were shocked by how classy the building and furnishings were. The entire staff was friendly and helpful throughout the reception! My aunt was a little tipsy on the dance floor and dropped her wine glass. After it shattered, immediately a staff member came over to clean it up (while joking about accidents at weddings). He was so nice and the party just kept going!
I am going to let everyone I know about this place. I hope everyone else is as pleased as I was.

Reception was just lovely. Excellent service. Outstanding organization and coordination. It was a VERY successful event, and I was very proud and happy to have been the host.
My absolutely ONLY negative comment was that I think some of the NY strip steaks were cooked beyond medium rare, which is what we ordered.
Everything else was just very well done. Thank you so much.
Would highly recommend Letort View to friends.

I had the most beautiful Wedding inside Letort on their ballroom floor!!!! I wished the weather could have permited a gazeebo wedding, but early April was just too cold! The Ballroom was set up a decorated by the staff with items I purchased. Everything pulled together beautifully!!! They provide linens, tables, chairs, and they decorate!

LVCC provided the set-up and tear down of the ceremony and reception site all in the same same location, while I had a social hour. Devon and Dana really worked their magic to make things happen for me! They did all of this with a wonderful sit down meal. We had an excellent meal started off with a house salad. The entree was beef sirloin with burgundy reduction, chicken saltimbucca, accompanied by a rustic mashed potato, and green beans. All of my guests thouroughly enjoyed dinner. They were shocked that I actually had two meats. The staff said it was the cleanest they have ever seen the plates.

If I had the funds, I would've had a day of coordinator. The LVCC is a very large place and needs to have someone that can take care of everything while the bride is behind the scenes. But overall I could not have asked for a better day.

April was great to work with and gave us some good tips (ie recommending NO aisle runner outside). She was quick to respond to my emails and phone calls and I was confident that my son's wedding was in good hands.

My wedding day could not have been more stressful! We were told by management at the last minute that April Spinks would not be available for our wedding day, which was the following day. We worked with her through every step of the process and she made us feel at ease. The staff did their best but looked completely lost. I'm not too sure I would recommend LeTort to my friends, unless the get someone in there that knows weddings! Bring April back!

The Letort View was a very beautiful venue but the service was horrible! First of all when my florist got there to set up the flowers the ballroom was still set up from the party they had there the night before. Also there were only a few people there setting up our table and putting favors out. My florist ended up setting up tables since there was not enough help. Also when our guest arrived for cocktail hour they would not serve them right away! The bar was supposed to be open the second our guests got there!! Another thing was when we got there after taking our pictures we wanted to go in and see the room. She had already let the guests in! Also she told me that we would have food to eat from cocktail hour when we got there and the only thing left was cheese!!!
There were many other little things that added up to how much it upset me that we spent so much money to have the venue ALL DAY and everything that I was told would be done was NOT!!! I would not suggest this venue to anyway! They make so many promises of things they are going to do for you and they never happened! Don't waste your money!
