The BEST decision we made during our wedding planning was booking Lesner Inn as our venue!
At the initial stages of learning more about the venue, the Lesner team was incredibly detailed, responsive and patient, even before we were a client! That was a sign of things to come as we primarily worked with the wonderful Alexis Hionis, who has a truly unmatched attention to detail and passion for executing on your vision.
If you end up choosing the Lesner Inn, which you absolutely should, we cannot recommend enough that you use their day of coordination services. Alexis created a timeline for our day that truly left no stone unturned and made sure all of our vendors were on the same page down to the second. The best thing about our wedding was that we didn’t spend a moment on anything other than soaking in what will be one of the best days of our lives. The entire day went off seamlessly and from the second we arrived at the venue, we literally breathed a huge sigh of relief and happiness because Alexis and her team had it COVERED. During our wedding planning, Alexis was always available to talk and the communication was outstanding! She knows her venue like the back of her hand and will have super helpful suggestions.
The venue speaks for itself and we don’t have the words to do it proper justice. We were married on June 1, 2024 and had the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all at Lesner Inn. The day was an absolute dream. The setting itself is so magical - the golden hour as the sun is going down over the water is just unmatched! The slight breeze off the bay makes it the perfect place to have an outdoor ceremony in the summer. The Lesner Inn went above and beyond in so many little ways, from having a staff member record our ceremony on an iPhone, to having our florist add hints of our color palette to our floral arrangements. The Lesner Inn team is talented, has great taste, and is excited to do everything they can to bring the little things that make your wedding yours to life.
The food was SO good - the Lesner Inn has a plethora of options for both the cocktail hour and dinner. We upgraded our cocktail hour to have an oyster and shrimp cocktail bar, which was a huge hit with our guests. Everyone was raving about the passed appetizers at cocktail hour and the late night snacks that were brought out after dinner! The martini bar was also a guest favorite - everyone feels a bit more ritzy holding a martini glass!
We look back on our wedding day like a dream that we can’t quite decide whether it was actually real. Alexis and her team at the Lesner Inn made that dream a reality.

Sara was my wedding coordinator for my wedding and she was AMAZING!! She made my wedding day perfect and was always thinking ahead and great at coming up with solutions/ideas for wedding day when I needed help. So many of our guests were raving about how amazing the wedding day was! It was truly the best day ever and couldn’t have done it without Sara and the rest of the Lesner Inn staff. "It's one of the best weddings we've ever been to!" is all we hear from guests after the incredible evening we all had at Lesner Inn. From the day we first viewed the venue to the moment we left with a sparkler exit at the end of our wedding, everything about working with Alexis and the team at Lesner Inn proved over and over what an incredible venue this is for a wedding - any time of year! Our November wedding was stunning. No stone was left unturned in planning, the communication was always clear and quick throughout the process, the food was incredible (everyone spent Christmas talking about it!) and the staff was fantastic the entire night. It was truly the night of our dreams, and we feel so fortunate to have worked with everyone at Lesner Inn. We will remember this incredible night for the rest of our lives. Professional, experienced, thorough, and truly impressive to everyone in attendance. Lesner Inn helped make an incredible evening for everyone. Even the kids (we had 10 kids ages 1 through 11 in attendance!) can't stop talking about eating the best chicken tenders they have ever had in their lives (plated beautifully for even our tiniest guests!) We had an amazing experience with this venue for our wedding. From start to finish, the coordination was seamless and truly took so much stress off our shoulders. The staff was incredibly helpful, attentive, and professional throughout the entire day, making everything run smoothly and allowing us to fully enjoy the celebration.
The only small hiccup was with the food, specifically the steak being a bit overcooked, despite mentioning our preference to the staff beforehand. That said, this was a minor issue in an otherwise wonderful experience. Absolutely incredible wedding venue: Top notch style, waterfront views, food, and staff.
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to celebrate our wedding. The venue exceeded every expectation, and the staff is truly exceptional. Alexis and Noelle were our wedding planner and day-of-coordinator, and the planning process and execution went above and beyond in every possible way. Alexis, Noelle, and their team were attentive, organized, and genuinely invested in making our day flawless. We initially chose only the day-of-coordination package, and later added the full planning and design package. Worth every penny! I was spending countless hours trying to bring all the elements of my vision together cohesively. With Alexis and Noelle’s services, the colors, textures, styles, and materials flowed seamlessly, and my vision was brought to life. This alleviated so much stress, and allowed us to actually ENJOY the planning process. They were also incremental in walking us through decisions on design elements to optimize our budget. Lastly, the weeks and days leading up to our wedding were far more peaceful with Alexis and Noelle handling all vendor coordination and communications!
We’ve received several compliments from our guests, many saying it was the best wedding they had ever attended. That wouldn’t have been possible without this amazing team and venue. The Lesner Inn was honestly the perfect place for our wedding and I can't recommend them enough! Working with them took so much stress off our shoulders. Noelle and Laine were especially amazing! They walked us through every detail and made sure everything was timed out great. On the day of the wedding, they more than knocked it out of the park, they went above and beyond! The setup was amazing, the decorations beautiful, the food tasty, and the staff so coordinated and proactive. Laine and Noelle even helped the me (the bride) with a dress malfunction. As someone who plans events for a living, I had high hopes for my own bridal shower — but The Lesner Inn exceeded every single expectation. I asked for one thing: a “Romantic Comedy” theme… and what I walked into was an absolute dream. Every detail was thought out to perfection — from the florals to the signage to the perfectly timed surprises. The space was stunning, the food was so delicious, the cocktails were spot on, and the service was incredible. I cried (more than once), laughed until my face hurt, and felt completely overwhelmed in the best way. It was magic — truly one of the most meaningful days of my life — and I’m endlessly grateful to the team at The Lesner Inn for making it all happen. 💖 If you’re thinking about hosting your shower, rehearsal, or wedding here… do it. The entire staff was so helpful throughout the entire process. The initial tour with Britne, the design services meetings with Alexis, the tasting, the rehearsal, EVERYTHING was amazing. My husband and I were married on 10/13/23 so this review is late! However, it's late because I needed the time to sit down and write the full review. This team was so amazing that I did not want to leave a generic review.
First- NOELLE. She was absolutely fantastic and a real pleasure to work with. I am a wedding vendor myself and the amount of guidance she provided was so appreciated. We worked with Noelle for a little under a year. Her expertise, and eye for detail, is phenomenal. She was always available to answer any questions we had.
Second, Noelle was not our planner (although Lesner does have its own planning services) but with how helpful she was, she really felt like it up to the day of our wedding, when our day of coordinator took over. She gave us amazing, money saving recommendations, guidance on our seating chart, guidance on our timeline and honestly, was more involved than the full planning service we booked with another planner (I do have to mention that our day of coordinator, who we did not meet until the rehearsal, was OUTSTANDING). Noelle really put me at ease during many moments throughout the wedding planning process.
Third, we originally booked just the waterside deck and, with the amount of family we felt obligated to invite, we decided to upgrade to the Lesner Sunset Deck & Hall (upstairs). We mentioned to Noelle we were thinking about just booking the entire venue for the Friday evening but still hadn't fully committed. A month went by and another event inquired about booking the waterside deck on the same night of our wedding (which they are able to do as it's a separate area from from Hall and Sunset deck). Noelle called, and emailed, to ask us if we wanted to move forward with booking the entire venue before they booked the separate space for another group. I was so thankful, and a little in awe, that she STILL checked in with us even though an entire month had gone by! They very well could have moved forward with the other event, as we hadn't put down a deposit for the entire venue, and had only mentioned it in passing!
Fourth, The Lesner is an amazing venue, and it's pretty much all inclusive (with rentals, upgrades, and more that you can add on at an additional cost). They work with many budgets and tailor it to exactly what you're looking for. We had inquired at a few other venue's prior to booking Lesner and fell in love once we saw the packages and the space. I would book Lesner Inn again for any event I have in the future!
Finally, the entire team at The Lesner is great and really make you feel welcome the minute you walk in the door. My wedding was a literal dream come true and it could not have been possible without the help of Noelle and my entire vendor team!Lesner Inn's reply:

My husband and I had the most PERFECT rehearsal dinner and wedding at the Lesner Inn back in September 2023. The entire Lesner Inn team went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our wedding was executed seamlessly. From the initial design coordination meetings to the tastings, we were consistently impressed.
When we arrived on our wedding day, the bridal party was welcomed with champagne. This set the tone for our wedding. coordinators were attentive throughout the entire event, ensuring that my husband and I were taken care of and had the food and drinks we wanted.
The food was also delicious. The appetizers were a standout with the lumpia being an absolute must have. The Hawaiian chicken bites and fried shrimp were equally delectable. The crab stuffed flounder was also another crowd pleaser.
The venue itself is breathtaking. If you are in search of a picturesque waterfront location, the Lesner Inn is the perfect place. I can truly say that everyone is extremely kind and willing to invest their time to make sure that you have the most perfect wedding day.
I want to extend my appreciation to Alexis, our exceptional planner and design coordinator who played an integral part of our big day. Alexis was nothing short of spectacular and we couldn’t have asked for someone better in bringing our vision come to life. She understood exactly what we wanted and was a joy to collaborate with. Not only did she excel in managing all aspects related to Lesner Inn, but she also gracefully handled any unexpected challenges that arose with other vendors, assuring us that everything would be resolved. Her dedication to all things wedding is truly remarkable. Alexis even gave us the idea and helped us plan an after-party next door at the Back deck to incorporate karaoke – in commemoration of my husband and I’s first “date”. If you are seeking top-notch wedding design and coordination, look no further, because Alexis is your go to person!

They are Awesome
We used The Lesner Inn for my fathers wedding. I have been to many weddings and non profit events there. Always great. But when its your own or your fathers wedding you dont know how much the staff at The Lesner Inn really helps to give you a great event and experience.. Lesner Inn Gave Us the Wedding of our Dreams!
Our wedding at the Lesner Inn was absolutely AMAZING! From day one signing our contract all the way to the end of our wedding night, we were fully supported by the staff at Lesner Inn. Britne and Noelle listened to all of our crazy questions/requests and made sure to make us feel comfortable and at ease throughout all of the emails and meetings. The venue is stunning and has everything you need, we did not realize having food and alcohol onsite would be a game changer for us, we did not have to worry about a thing the day of our wedding. The views are stunning as well, we could not have asked for a more beautiful day. We recommend the Lesner Inn to all couples for their big day, also hiring the in-house wedding coordinator was a no brainer! Amazing Venue
I had an absolutely amazing experience getting married at the Lesner Inn in September! Alexis was very detail oriented and everything went so smoothly. I had multiple guests/bridal party members surprised with how well everything went! The food & beverage options, as well as decor were exactly what we were looking for. amazing venue with spectacular views
My husband and I had our wedding at the Lesner Inn May 2023. We had a wonderful experience from the pre-planning meetings up until the last moments of our wedding day. Alexis and Britne were such a pleasure to work with. We truly felt like they cared about making our experience and wedding day everything we imagined and more! If you are considering hiring the day of coordination through Lesner Inn, do it! They made the whole process that much easier, and I knew our outside vendors were in good hands coordinating setting up on wedding day. Our experience at this wedding venue was truly exceptional, and we cannot express enough how much we loved every aspect of our special day.
The staff at the venue, especially Noelle, were an absolute pleasure to work with. Noelle's professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made the entire planning process smooth and stress-free. Her expertise and experience in wedding coordination were evident from the start, and she went above and beyond to ensure that our vision for the wedding was brought to life. No request was too big or too small for her, and she handled each step of the planning process with utmost care and dedication.
Throughout the planning phase, Noelle was always available to answer any questions we had. Her responsiveness was impressive, and it gave us a sense of reassurance knowing that we could rely on her guidance and support. She took the time to understand our preferences, and her valuable suggestions and creative ideas truly enhanced the overall experience. What stood out most about Noelle was her ability to handle any wedding drama that arose with grace and tact. Weddings can be emotionally charged events, and it's not uncommon for minor hiccups to occur. However, Noelle navigated through any challenges seamlessly, putting us at ease and ensuring that everything ran smoothly.
The catering staff , bartending staff, and the food were also exceptional.

Emily and Alexis were so easy to work with, and everything went seamlessly on the wedding day. They are the absolute dolls to plan the wedding with, and the venue is gorgeous. Most Magical Night of Our Lives
The Lesner is a beautiful venue on the water with gorgeous views. The staff is very accommodating, and Emily H is the best! We have 120 guests and used the entire facility. My husband and I got married in September 2022 at the Lesner Inn. We toured several venues, but immediately fell in love with the Lesner Inn and the beautiful views and all-inclusive style planning. We planned the whole wedding while living out of state, and they made that so seamless and easy for us. Emily and Alexis were extremely communicative throughout the process and helped keep me on track with planning. They were quick to respond when we had questions and were flexible with last minute changes. The venue offers day of coordination services that work with you three months prior to the wedding, and it allowed me to enjoy the few months leading up to the wedding. The night of the wedding went so perfectly- if anything went wrong, I never heard about it! Alexis and Emily made sure we had drinks in our hands, food on our plates, and were taken care of all night! Our guests loved the food and the venue! We used several of their preferred vendors and loved all of them! We could not have picked a better venue or staff and coordinators to bring our day to fruition. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding venue. It was gorgeous and had just undergone renovations before our big day which looked amazing. Emily was fabulous and helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process. She was a rockstar for the day-of coordination and took over communication with vendors the week beforehand which was fabulous. We could not have asked for a more smooth wedding day and the food was absolutely delicious. Ok, there are not enough words and time to express how grateful I am to the team at Lesner Inn and Emily H.!! My husband was deployed for all 10 months of wedding planning, he came home 2 weeks beforehand (after multiple extensions and a lot of gray hairs), and to top it off Hurricane Ian decided to make an appearance the actual day of our reception! Emily and the team at Lesner made sure the day was nothing but PERFECT for us!! Emily felt like my wedding coordinator, she was so detailed, professional, easy to communicate with, positive, and so sweet! It was truly a pleasure to work with her throughout the planning process. She made sure no stone was left unturned and it was seriously the best night of our lives! Despite the hurricane and insane weather, everyone showed up on time, Lesner never lost power, and we are still getting rave reviews today about the wonderful staff and bartenders! Our guests honestly forgot there was a hurricane outside! We utilized the entire venue (upstairs & downstairs) and it was so dreamy and welcoming! Everything was set-up exactly as we had planned and they turned our dream into a reality. My only complaint was that we could've stayed and partied all night there!! Thank you, Lesner Inn!! We cannot recommend The Lesner Inn and its staff ENOUGH! We started planning our wedding February 2020 and had to push our wedding date twice. We worked closely with Alexis through the whole planning process. She was always quick to respond, very knowledgable and answered every question we had. The Lesner Inn made every step of planning as easy as possible. We also used their wedding coordinating services and were paired up with Emily. I couldn't have asked for a better gal to be along my side for my big day! She ensured the rehearsal went smoothly and that every detail we wanted to see on our big day was in place. Even though it rained for our whole ceremony, it was still the most beautiful venue and we wouldn't have changed it for the world. The food was AMAZING and every single staff member made us and our guests feel like we were all best friends. The staff on our wedding day (every single one of them) seriously went ABOVE AND BEYOND their duties and we can't thank them enough. I wish we could re-live this day over and over and over again! My husband Philip and I got married at Lesner Inn on Sunday March 27, 2022. We had our ceremony and reception in the Waterside Deck downstairs. We found Lesner Inn on Wedding Wire and knew it was the one as soon as we toured it. Mostly everything you need for your ceremony and reception is included in their packages which makes this a very affordable venue. I strongly recommend using their day of coordination services to make your day go as smooth as possible! Lesner Inn isn't just a stunning venue; their expert team members were the brains behind an experience that our guests have yet to stop talking about. They went above and beyond to make sure that our party of 240 were accommodated and treated like VIP.
Alexis and Emily were quick to answer all of our questions from the beginning of our planning stages, all the way up to our big day. Not only did they communicate well, but they always communicated with an energy and excitement that was contagious and certainly helped to alleviate the stress or anxiety around planning a wedding.
When I say that Alexis knows how to host a memorable party, I mean it! Her suggestions and ideas, be it the small details or immediate solutions, helped to create an event that far exceeded both of our families’ expectations.
As if the panoramic views of the Lynnhaven Inlet were not beautiful enough, Lesner Inn recently renovated their interior, and it looks fabulous. You will hardly need the extra decor in a place that looks like this on its own.
Last but not least, the food was delicious! I was lucky enough to have had time to eat (almost) my entire plate that the staff kindly prepared for me and my husband. If you’re still looking for a Hampton Roads venue on the water with an exceptional team, look no further.

After what seemed like 50 venue tours, my fiancé and I fell in love with Lesner inn. It’s in a great location, and that water view for your ceremony is impossible to beat in this area. We loved that we didn’t have to worry if it was raining or not with the covered deck we could still have a gorgeous view protected from most of the elements.
Hopefully future brides won’t have to worry about this but we booked everything BEFORE the pandemic and stressed internally for a year and a half about the world forecast. Lesner was rocked of course throughout the pandemic as well but continued to communicate openly and as frequently as we wanted to put us at ease. We began with one point of contact and was transitioned to Alexis who was so great. When it came down to the final few months and the world was still in a little bit of dis-array Lesner was AMAZING at working with us on a solution for covid related concerns. We can’t thank them enough for that. We really utilized the space; stairs for the first look, sunset deck for ceremony, waterside deck for cocktail hour, and Lesner hall for reception. From previous reviews we knew we needed Lesner hall as it is air conditioned for a summer wedding. Our ceremony was gorgeous and uniquely set up. I was able to make sure I tried all the food and it was all wonderful. In the planning stages you can have one free tasting and then as many more as you’d like to pay for which for us. We loved how the reception area was small enough to not feel cold and distant but big enough to be comfortable for our guests to spread out and dance or just enjoy a drink at their table. After our day was done, we had many people coming up to us saying it was one of (or THE) best wedding they have ever been to.
I also have to mention that adding ABC coordination (their in house company) was a MUST. We had Lindsay Basnight and she really worked her butt off coordinating with us, and making the day go flawlessly. I truly didn’t need to worry about anything at the venue 14 days out from our event and the day of. It was so smoothly executed.
So happy that we chose Lesner for our big day and would choose them 10 times over. Thank you guys for everything!!Lesner Inn's reply:

Sunday Brunch Wedding!
Our wedding was everything we could have ever imagined!!!!!!!!!!! Throughout the entire planning process (started planning in January 2020) we could always count on Lesner to be there if we had any questions. If you let them, Lesner DOES IT ALL FOR YOU! Being a COVID bride is hard, but The Lesner Inn made it so much easier. We had to reschedule 10 days before our original date in March. We were able to move to September with very little hassle or stress. Lindsey was so easy to work with, not only for her professionalism, but also her ability to make you feel like your wedding is her top priority.
Almost all of our decorations were supplied by The Lesner. I would highly recommend taking that route. It makes the day so much less stressful for the families and everything was beautiful! Amazing food and beautiful views
Alexis and Lindsey were a dream to work with. Alexis helped us with all questions that we had as well as gracefully answer the millions of questions my mom had too. The food was amazing and our guests loved every single thing and could not stop raving about it to us. We decided to use their in house ABC coordinating service and it was the best decision I made. Lindsey made it easy to keep everything on track and really gave me the opportunity to enjoy the wedding day. Perfect waterfront Venue
As a Virginia Beach resident, I really wanted to have my wedding with water views. Lesner Inn was the perfect setting for it. I remember the night of the wedding I asked Cayleen several times what I could do to help and she told me I should just relax and have fun because she was covering everything. She was correct. She handled every extremely professionally.
We used several of the vendors recommended by the Lesner Inn and they all performed very well. It was an excellent evening. I recommend the Lesner Inn and specifically Cayleen highly to couples looking for a gorgeous venue and an incredibly memorable evening.

I planned our wedding from across the country, and Alexis was beyond helpful with all of my questions. We had viewed the venue in person in October and fell in love with the view and the space on the second floor. From our very first visit, Brittany listened to every little thing we mentioned and commented, and made suggestions that were just perfect for us. Every email was answered promptly, and every meeting was well prepared for and ran smoothly. My fiancee, parents, and myself enjoyed each interaction we had with her. The day of our wedding, Brittany worked flawlessly with our day of coordinator and other vendors and things could not have run better. She even remembered how excited my mum was for the coconut shrimp and made sure that a plate of them was always nearby for her. She also made sure that my fiancee and I had food and drinks nearby all night, and helped keep everything right on schedule. Looking back, I would not change a single thing.
The venue itself was perfect for what we wanted. We chose the downstairs, Waterside Deck, for both our ceremony and reception. Even with nearly 100 people in attendance and having to flip the ceremony space to the dance floor, at no point did it feel claustrophobic, which has been a secret worry of mine. The lighting in that space, even after sunset, is perfect for a party atmosphere without being too dark. There was a party upstairs as well, but unless you left our space and went over to the main hall, you'd never know. The music didn't bleed through at all. One of the great features of being downstairs is that the water is right outside the windows, and a lot of guests commented on how much they like it because it felt like you were on a boat without all the messy seasickness.
We had done a tasting before the event and liked the food okay, but the night of the wedding the food was even better!!! Their kitchen staff handled it amazingly, everything was delicious, and nothing ran out of our buffet. The staff was awesome as well, especially the bartenders that kept everything moving. We would not have changed a thing, and our guests had a wonderful time! -
