Writing this is so difficult because there's just so much to say about Leah. She is amazing and professional and obviously cares so so so much about each couple she works for. She made me and my husband feel so comfortable taking photos, even when it was raining and cold and otherwise slightly miserable outside. She captured amazing candid photos and it never felt like a chore doing the posed ones. She's friendly and nice and saw that I was feeling overwhelmed during a particularly busy moment of the night and advocated for me to get a break. Her photos are breathtaking and she works so hard it felt like she was in a thousand different places at once but it never felt like she was in the way or out of place. The teasers I got back have blown away every single person who has seen them and they're so amazing I want to print every single one and tape them to every surface of my home so I can look at them constantly. I have included my favorite shot from the night but I could have chosen any one of them to showcase. Honestly, my wedding wouldn't have been as magical without her. -

We had so much fun with Leah at our 6am engagement shoot in DC and have shots that will be appreciated in our home for the rest of our lives. Not to mention memories with her, her beautiful fiancee, and our pup that will last a lifetime.
Our wedding day was seamless and beautifully photographed, with all the key moments included. Leah worked with Perscilla as a second shooter who was equally as fun and dedicated. You can tell every step of the way that Leah cares about her business and her work. And wants to make sure YOU are happy with every detail. Our wedding teaser album came out incredibly, and is perfect to hold us over as we look forward to the rest of the album when the photos are ready.

Leah is awesome. We couldn’t have had a better person on our team for our wedding. Even leading up to the day, Leah called us, texted us, and got to know us as well as our desires for the wedding day. She is funny, laid back, great at improvising and problem-solving on the spot, and doing it all with a smile. She gives a sense of professionalism that made all our family and friends feel comfortable and have fun while we “wrangled cats” getting them all together for group pictures. The style, aesthetic, and composition of her photos are all such a vibe! We had so many special little moments that she captured even when we had no idea she was looking. She also sent us teasers before our full gallery was ready so we could give people wedding photos as holiday and birthday presents! Leah truly went above and beyond, and was like a long-time friend at our event who also happened to be our photographer. The Best Photographer!
Leah was such a gift to our wedding day! Her super generous offer to shoot our local elopement put us at ease during an uneasy time in the world, and the energy brought to celebrate us was contagious!
Leah was incredibly flexible as we faced some unplanned chaos and weather. Our photos turned out SO beautifully and were such a gift to us! She captured every special moment, and it is a life-long gift being able to look back on them.

Leah is the actual BEST. She is an insanely talented photographer and artist, and she is also an amazing human. She collaborated so well with all our other vendors throughout the wedding and captured a beautiful mix of classic portraits (that still didn’t look stiff) and meaningful candid moments. When she sent us our previews, I immediately was transported to my favorite moments of our day- because she was quietly by my side the entire time and captured every special interaction. Leah is fun and an easy presence- our whole family loved her! She was also efficient with a series of family photos and squeezing in golden hour shots so we could still enjoy happy hour. She listened to our requests, collaborated with me on our shot list, and delivered images that were lit and composed perfectly. Hire her! Your day will be so much better with Leah there. -

Leah was nothing short of amazing. We knew Leah through some friends and after looking at her portfolio, we knew she was the one for our elopement. We started with an awesome introductory call where Leah gave us the full run down on everything possible and we couldn't wait for more. The engagement photo shoot we started with was so fun! Leah made it super easy, scoped out places prior to our pictures, and made sure that we felt at ease in front of the camera. The pics turned out great and we got them so fast! Then came the day of our elopement which was everything we could have asked for and more. Leah got a list of pictures that we definitely wanted beforehand and made sure to get all of those pictures and then some! The turn around time on our pictures was incredible and everyone is obsessed with how good they look. Leah's professionalism coupled with her ability to make us feel natural and comfortable in front of the camera is AMAZING and I would highly highly highly recommend her! -

Do not hesitate! Boom Leah ASAP!
Leah is such a brilliant photographer and exactly the right vibe you want for your wedding (and probably all other important events). She made us feel at ease for our engagement shoot (our first time meeting face to face!) and it was the perfect foundation for an amazing wedding day. Leah felt like one of our friends getting ready with us and throughout the whole wedding day and then we were absolutely blown away with the photo results. They felt warm, vibrant, and full of love which is just what the day felt like for us. I’m so grateful we stumbled upon Leah and booked her as soon as we met her. Her work speaks for itself and it’s a HUGE bonus that she’s such a wonderful human too. Leah was amazing!
We hired Leah to photograph our backyard wedding in 2023. From the beginning she was such a pleasure to work with. We spoke several times beforehand to not only discuss logistics and timing but also how we envisioned our special day being captured. She brought professionalism, advice and a positive attitude to every conversation and made us feel so reassured that we were aligned in our vision.
When the day came, she managed her own time according to our scheduling but at the same time was adaptable at a moments notice! From the formal ceremony shots to the whimsical reception photos, she positioned herself to document our day perfectly.
When we received the photos back we were elated. Memories of our wedding start flowing in as if the pictures brought us back to those very moments. We couldn’t be happier with how they turned out and can’t recommend Leah enough. We really enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to work with her! -

My expectations for Leah's photography were already high - considering she came highly recommended from fellow brides. And still, Leah's passion and talent for wedding photography blew me away from start to finish!
I may be a *little* biased since Leah is an old college friend... but I'm confident any bride will become fast friends with Leah and genuinely trust her to capture every precious moment. Her positivity, creativity, and professionalism truly shined on our wedding day!
What I didn't expect I needed as a bride was the support I got from Leah on the day of the wedding. Your photographer is spending every intimate moment with you and your partner. Leah makes you feel safe and beautiful and exudes joy for your love!
Now, for the photos... it's hard to put into words! Leah and her team were like flies on the wall. Somehow capturing every candor and precious moment. Leah's editing prowess is what sets her apart! The photos appear hardly edited, but the quality and intention behind every picture reveals her advanced skills as a photographer. I was amazed at the number of photos we received from the teasers to the full gallery. I was SOOO happy with how every detail and moment was captured!
Lastly, Leah went above and beyond for us as a couple in ways we never expected. After losing our dear friend, Jack, who was in the wedding, Leah developed a special album with numerous photos of him. She gave us and our community a priceless gift to relive these cherished moments with Jack.
PS: Shoutout to Leah's second photographer who excelled as a professional and a bonus hype woman for the bride! I fully trust anyone on Leah's team :)

We found Leah through an online post regarding elopement photos. After looking through her portfolio, we JUMPED into her inquiry link. With only days to spare before our last-minute courthouse elopement, we knew it was a long shot, but we wouldn’t be able to rest if we didn’t at least try... Leah got back to us immediately saying - and I quote - “IM IN!”. We were shocked! In hindsight, this makes absolute sense knowing even a fraction of the person that Leah is. I am certain that anyone who gets the chance to work with her would feel just as special with the care and attention that she puts forth.
As a couple whose comfort levels in front of the camera are on opposite ends of the spectrum, she made us both feel confident, beautiful and safe to be ourselves with her. The moments she captured are beyond our wildest dreams – The photos feel authentic and so effortlessly us! We didn’t only gain stunning photos from Leah; we also gained a friend. I wish I could give Leah all the stars in the sky she is that amazing!! Leah has been my photographer for some of the biggest moments in my life - from university graduation to my wedding there is no one else I would have rather had there behind the camera. I am going to force myself to keep this brief, because otherwise I could write a whole dissertation on why Leah is the most amazing wedding photographer!
From our very first phone call with Leah, my husband and I knew we wanted to have her with us on our big day! We had some definite nerves about being in front of the camera, but Leah put us at ease when she explained her philosophy of incorporating movement into photographs to help people loosen up and express their true selves in a more comfortable, less posed way. It was clear from speaking to her that she put a lot of thought and intention into making the experience as comfortable, and as natural as possible.
Her work really speaks for itself, and especially as 2 people who are pretty camera shy, I was amazed at how she was able to truly capture the love that we share for each other in a way that felt so genuine and authentic! We had such a wonderful time with her during our engagement shoot that I even commented to my (now) husband that the only thing I regretted about hiring her as our wedding photographer was that she couldn’t attend as a guest at our wedding! When we started to share our wedding pictures with family and friends, we all agreed that Leah’s photographs truly allowed us to relive the whole experience all over again - and really, what more could you want from someone who is capturing one of the absolute happiest moments of your life! -

Best and most comfortable photography session
We’ve never gotten our photos taken before and Leah made us feel so comfortable. She makes an experience that can seem daunting, so easy, and more importantly, so much fun. Engagement photos of my dreams
Where do I even begin…Leah is an actual SAINT. She moved her entire schedule around to get some last minute engagement photos for my husband and I before he deployed. Not to mention…waking up for a SUNRISE photo shoot at the crack of dawn to capture our vision in the mountains. The photos were BEAUTIFUL and exactly what we envisioned. Leah is so down to earth and easy to work with. We felt incredibly comfortable and laughed for about 90% of our session. Leah has been absolutely amazing as our photographer! Our wedding hasn’t happened yet, but she did do our engagement photos and I am beyond impressed with her! She is extremely flexible, fun, outgoing and truly knows how to make people feel comfortable. It honestly felt like we’ve known her for years! She’s extremely fast and diligent with editing, listens to requests and above all, has such a creative eye! We wanted her as our photographer due to her open mindedness, expertise of photography and how she captures moments.
Even our initial call with her felt professional, yet as though we were having a conversation with a childhood friend. She’s extremely tentative to details, super witty and truly one of the greatest people we have ever met!

Leah was AMAZING for our engagement photo session! We are both healthcare students with weird schedules but Leah went above and beyond to make it happen for us - even pivoting the plan as it began raining when we were all on our way to the agreed upon outdoor location! We were able to do some indoor shots and some rain shots that day and revisited the original spot on a nicer day. The experience and the photos are amazing. Her humor and chill nature put us both at ease and we truly had the best time. We love Leah!!
We were thrilled to have Leah photograph our wedding, and are obsessed with the photos we now get to cherish forever. We have hired her for other events in the past and couldn’t imagine having anyone else capture our wedding! She has a bubbly and excitable personality that could make anyone enjoy a photo shoot, including people like me who normally hate being in photos. Leah makes each experience we’ve had with her joyous and fun, which is often necessary for creating a quality photo. People obviously tend to look better when they are comfortable, confident, and having fun, all of which Leah naturally facilitates. Where do we begin -- choosing Leah as our photographer was easily one of the best decisions we made during this entire process. Phenomenal!
Leah Meissler was PHENOMENAL! We hired her for our engagement photos and as our wedding photographer. Leah is a seasoned photographer. She coordinated with us on all the standard “Engagement” & “Wedding” BUT went above and beyond to take shots that we hadn’t even thought of. Some of my favorite photos are those random ones where we had no idea what she was doing. As a photographer she is down to earth and personable. Our engagement and wedding was planned through the COVID-19 pandemic and even though a year and a half had passed by between our shoots, our experience was as if no time had passed at all. She made us feel relaxed during each shoot so we weren’t stiff and self-conscious. We were impressed with how quickly she could provide us teaser photos of the event. That allowed us to quickly order “Thank You” cards with a photo from the wedding. I know this isn’t typical, but our wedding didn’t include a wedding party, however we had quickly realized that a wedding party is helpful in calming your nerves and last minute stress before the big moment, Leah as our dedicated photographer went above and beyond and was that shoulder and the rock we needed while getting ready for our big moment. She absolutely didn’t have to do anything more than take photos, but she ended up providing so much more. I 100% would have passed out from the stress and the record high heat of the day if not for Leah distracting my brain and calming me down.
P.S. My absolute favorite shot of the entire wedding is a candid shot she took while I thought we were taking a break to let an elderly man pass by the glass enclosed hallway. As he passed by, he let out the loudest fart, which echoed through the small glass hallway corridor. Our reactions were priceless and she managed to catch them in a shot. -

Leah took our engagement pictures in Charlotte in late 2021, and to say we were ecstatic with the results and overall experience is an understatement. We were a little nervous going into the engagement shoot, but Leah made us feel so comfortable and completely calmed any nerves we had. Last minute elopement
Our experiences with Leah were nothing short of incredible. Not only is she a talented photographer in creating/capturing such romantic, ethereal and emotional moments, but she went above and beyond for us. We had her booked for our original large wedding, however after 2 unexpected family tragedies back to back we ended up planning a last minute elopement. And when I say last minute, I mean literally 48 hours. We personally can be pretty camera shy, but she made it feel so natural for us throughout both the engagement and wedding shoot. Second, HER TALENT! Not only is she a great/genuine person, she is SO TALENTED!!! We were blown away for both our Engagement and Wedding photos. She knows exactly what angles to capture from, while considering every little detail from our posture, our hand placement, the background, etc. She really sets the mood within the photos with her excellent editing skills. The photos bring us back to the actual moment every time we view them.
Lastly, Leah's service and professionalism. She promises excellence and over delivers. She sent us extra photos than what was on our contract. She sent us over 50 teaser photos from our wedding 1 week later. She provided all of our engagement and wedding photos on time. Leah stayed connected with us from engagement shoot to the wedding day. Phone meeting with us for a pre-engagement and wedding shoot to ensure she knew exactly what we wanted. Lastly, she was very accommodating to our privacy requests as well. We reached out to Leah for an October 2020 wedding, and had to postpone our wedding to July 2021. From the informative phone consultation, to the amazing engagement photo shoot, to the beautiful day of wedding photos, Leah's photography skills and amazingly fun and friendly personality made my super nervous, Type A bride self know that I was in great hands. Leah is the BEST!
We decided to elope, so our session with Leah was our way of sharing our experience with our friends and family. I (the bride) am absolutely not photogenic at all and my husband is an absolute ham for the camera. Where do I start? I'm not your traditional bride. I didn't want the Pinterest photos where the bridal party was posed or shots of makeup palettes that I used for my look. I wanted someone who could capture my husband and I in the moment. I wanted someone to capture the love between us. I wanted photos to show our love and not look cold. I just happened to scroll IG and came upon Leah's page. BRIDES and GROOMS, look no further because Leah is the real deal. Looking through her portfolio you can just sense the love and happiness between couples. I reached out to her and got a response and she offered to call so we can both get an idea of expectations. I think we must have spent almost a hour on the phone just brainstorming and talking ideas-mind you we didn't officially hire her yet. After I hung up and spoke with my husband, we decided to book her immediately. Oh did I mention her pricing is also amazing?! Her photographs come to life!
It has been now been 17 days since I married my high school sweetheart, my best friend, the love of my life. Bryan and I have already dubbed that day the best of our lives (yet at least). In fact, it took a while for the post-wedding blues to subside. Lucky for us, Leah was unsurprisingly able to capture every feeling, moment, and memory from our most beloved day.
Bryan and I look through her pictures often (okay...often meaning every night) and each shot Leah took brings back ALL of the feels! We perused them again just last night and her photographs had us teary-eyed, belly laughing, and simply in awe (and often all of those emotions were felt from a SINGLE photograph). Leah knows exactly which photos/moments to capture and for our special day, she even asked if I had any ideas or shots I wanted captured, knowing how us brides can be. Being well aware of the amount of talent Leah Miessler has in her pinky finger, I didn't feel the need to chime in. Wow...was I right. Leah, thank you for capturing the most special day of my life and more importantly, giving Bryan and I the ability to be and feel completely present at our wedding...we never once worried about a moment being lost because we knew you'd catch it on the other end of your camera. Our families, Bryan and I (and especially our vendors) worked extremely hard on every single detail of that wedding and she 100% captured everything in the most brilliant, memorable, and utterly magical way possible.
My favorite thing about wedding photographs is being able to reminisce or imagine what that day was like if you weren't really there (or if it has been a very long time). I've spent countless hours peering over my own parents' wedding pictures and they had very few (and a lot of them were too formal or blurry), making it challenging to imagine those moments. Well, it makes me smile to imagine the day (way, WAY down the road) that my little boy or girl will get to pour over the pictures Leah took of Bryan and I, knowing that they will be able to feel all of those emotions we felt and experience the day as close to reality as possible. Leah captured our love and being able to share that with family is what it's all about.
Leah. I can't express our gratitude enough. I have said it once and I will say it over and over again, any significant/photo-worthy milestone in our lives will be captured by you. Let me begin by saying that Leah is the sweetest human being. She made our experience stress free and enjoyable. My husband and I are both shy infront of the camera, but she was able to guide us in EVERY single shot that was taken. We didn't have any expectations when it came to the ceremony photos, family shots, and couples shots, but Leah captured every emotion possible and we didn't even see her lurking with her camera! We absolutely loved everything about having Leah take our engagement photos! From her helping us find a place to take photos, and with how fast her turnaround time for photo delivery was, we were so impressed! We scheduled our date before the pandemic, but do to the lockdowns, we were forced to reschedule several times. Leah was so flexible with us! I also have to mention that we maintained social distancing during our photo shoot, but you could NEVER tell with the way the pictures came out. We are absolutely in love with the pictures, and will definitely be calling on Leah for our photo needs from now on! -
