Where do I even begin…Leah is an actual SAINT. She moved her entire schedule around to get some last minute engagement photos for my husband and I before he deployed. Not to mention…waking up for a SUNRISE photo shoot at the crack of dawn to capture our vision in the mountains. The photos were BEAUTIFUL and exactly what we envisioned. Leah is so down to earth and easy to work with. We felt incredibly comfortable and laughed for about 90% of our session. I’ve used her now for college grad photos and hopefully a future wedding reception’s . COULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE BETTER 💕

Leah has been such a joy to work with! My fiancé and I had never had professional photos taken of us before, but Leah put all our worries to bed! She made us feel comfortable and like ourselves during our engagement shoot. Waking up early for a sunrise shoot was so worth it! Leah is very responsive and has a wealth of knowledge she shares with her clients. We cannot wait to see our wedding photos!

Leah is a dream come true!
Leah was an absolute DREAM COME TRUE! I had been following Leah on instagram for MONTHS just dreaming of one day working with her. My now fiancé planned a surprise proposal at a lantern festival that included Leah camouflaging in a group of people pretending to just be another attendee. When my fiancé got down on one knee and asked me to do forever it was truly magic but what really made the night even more special was when I realized that Leah was there to capture the entire moment. My fiancé and I had never done a couples photoshoot before nor had we even been professionally photographed and as a same sex couple it was something we were both nervous about but Leah was a dream to work with! She made us feel so comfortable and beautiful and magical and was just the sweetest person to ever be around. The photos she captured were STUNNNIG and something we'll treasure for the rest of our lives. We hired her as our photographer but I truly consider her my new friend. 10/10 would recommend in a heartbeat and I cannot wait to have her capture our special day!!

Beyond Impressive!
Leah has been absolutely amazing as our photographer! Our wedding hasn’t happened yet, but she did do our engagement photos and I am beyond impressed with her! She is extremely flexible, fun, outgoing and truly knows how to make people feel comfortable. It honestly felt like we’ve known her for years! She’s extremely fast and diligent with editing, listens to requests and above all, has such a creative eye! We wanted her as our photographer due to her open mindedness, expertise of photography and how she captures moments.
Even our initial call with her felt professional, yet as though we were having a conversation with a childhood friend. She’s extremely tentative to details, super witty and truly one of the greatest people we have ever met!
We are SOOOO excited to have her at our wedding. We have been boasting about her since we met her. We can not wait to introduce her to our friends and family, as they, too, are extremely impressed with her work!
I remember when we met her in person and thanked her for meeting us and she said, “no, thank you! Doing photo shoots feels like Christmas to me”
I 100% recommend Leah, her passion and abilities are impeccable and it’s amazing just how comfortable she makes you doing your shoots! She suggests things to do, where to go, seeks out spots before even getting there.

Spectacular photographer
Writing this is so difficult because there's just so much to say about Leah. She is amazing and professional and obviously cares so so so much about each couple she works for. She made me and my husband feel so comfortable taking photos, even when it was raining and cold and otherwise slightly miserable outside. She captured amazing candid photos and it never felt like a chore doing the posed ones. She's friendly and nice and saw that I was feeling overwhelmed during a particularly busy moment of the night and advocated for me to get a break. Her photos are breathtaking and she works so hard it felt like she was in a thousand different places at once but it never felt like she was in the way or out of place. The teasers I got back have blown away every single person who has seen them and they're so amazing I want to print every single one and tape them to every surface of my home so I can look at them constantly. I have included my favorite shot from the night but I could have chosen any one of them to showcase. Honestly, my wedding wouldn't have been as magical without her.

Excellent!
We found Leah’s portfolio online and were immediately interested. Her talent for picking optimal lighting situations to capture intimate moments was readily apparent, and her flexibility with our desire to stage photo shoots in two separate locations for our engagement photos was enough for us to book her. We did our first shoot at our home with our dogs and Leah did a fantastic job guiding us through shots and poses. We have zero photo skills but she was able to make us look great. Leah jumped at the opportunity to explore a location she had never shot before based on our enthusiasm for a natural setting and was brave enough to traverse difficult terrain to get us some amazing pictures. She went above and beyond and her fun and easy going personality made the experience a blast! We can’t wait for Leah to capture our wedding!

Simply the Best
Where do we begin -- choosing Leah as our photographer was easily one of the best decisions we made during this entire process. Her work speaks for itself, but hiring her went so beyond just the beautiful photos. She is such a kind and genuine person. She made the entire experience feel so fun and effortless (and this is coming from people who do not often get their photos taken, so this was sort of an uncomfortable thing for us at first). But Leah made us laugh right from the start, and some of my favorite photos are the ones where you can just so clearly see the love she captured between us. She is so talented and worth the investment in every way. This was one of the biggest days of our lives and I am so beyond thrilled with how it was documented for us to cherish for the rest of our lives.

Hiring Leah was the best decision for our wedding
Leah is amazing. Her photography is gorgeous, and she brings such a fun, light hearted atmosphere to photo sessions. I have never been comfortable in front of a camera, but Leah brought this relaxed environment. There were no static, super posed photos, just my fiancé and I, being our normal goofy selves. Leah's photos showed our personality, and reflected who we are as a couple. On top of her amazing photography skills, her turn around time is so quick! We had a handful of beautiful photos within 48 hours. She is talented, professional, and I 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer.

Leah truly does it all!
Working with Leah was one of the best wedding decisions we made! We booked her about 18 months in advance of our wedding. She is responsive, passionate, and energetic, which made the planning process run SO smoothly and the wedding day extremely fun. She is super thoughtful and captured all of our special moments with ease. Leah has an incredible talent of being able to direct groups of 20+ people to follow instructions and, ultimately, get the perfect shot. It's easy to say that she exceeded all expectations. Leah is SO FUN! My fiancé and I were looking for natural photos that were full of movement, spontaneity, and authenticity — Leah delivered on all fronts!!! Awesome engagement photos! Flexible and FUN
Leah was AMAZING for our engagement photo session! We are both healthcare students with weird schedules but Leah went above and beyond to make it happen for us - even pivoting the plan as it began raining when we were all on our way to the agreed upon outdoor location! We were able to do some indoor shots and some rain shots that day and revisited the original spot on a nicer day. The experience and the photos are amazing. Her humor and chill nature put us both at ease and we truly had the best time. We could not be happier and are so looking forward to taking our wedding photos with Leah as well!!! 10/10 would recommend!!!

We love Leah!!
We were thrilled to have Leah photograph our wedding, and are obsessed with the photos we now get to cherish forever. We have hired her for other events in the past and couldn’t imagine having anyone else capture our wedding! She has a bubbly and excitable personality that could make anyone enjoy a photo shoot, including people like me who normally hate being in photos. Leah makes each experience we’ve had with her joyous and fun, which is often necessary for creating a quality photo. People obviously tend to look better when they are comfortable, confident, and having fun, all of which Leah naturally facilitates. Along with creating a comfortable environment, Leah is a master of helping people pose in ways that look and feel natural for them and help show them in their best possible light. Our guests and family loved her as well, and several asked for her contact after seeing the photos from the wedding. The photos themselves turned out perfect - we got plenty of great candid photos taken alongside all of our planned photos that Leah efficiently guided us and our families into with ease. The end result was gorgeous - not overly edited but enough so that lighting is tailored to the photo and who is in it so as to bring out their best look. Leah certainly has her own style that is evident in her work, but is accommodating to requests from couples as well. She is very easy to work with and we are so grateful to her for capturing our wedding and other life moments so beautifully.

Leah was so amazing through every step of our wedding planning process. She went above and beyond to make sure everything from our engagement session to our wedding planning went smoothly. We get constant compliments from our guests about how engaged Leah was and how she having fun with everyone out on the dance floor to get the best pictures possible! If you are searching for the best wedding/engagement photographer in the game, look no further - it's Leah! Leah took our engagement pictures in Charlotte in late 2021, and to say we were ecstatic with the results and overall experience is an understatement. We were a little nervous going into the engagement shoot, but Leah made us feel so comfortable and completely calmed any nerves we had. She truly goes the extra mile to create a safe, comfortable and fun atmosphere. We ended up having the time of our lives shooting with her! She even helped me out with picking outfits for the photos. I don't know how she does it, but she perfectly captured the love my future husband and I share. We will treasure the photos Leah took of us for the rest of our lives. Leah is passionate, professional, fun, and a truly amazing human being. My only regret is not hiring her for our wedding day. The bottom line is, she is the BEST!

Amazing- incredible- kind- creative- captivating!
Leah is just perfection! I can’t express enough how happy she made us! The entire experience was positive- she was kind, warm, supportive, and she made me look incredible!! If you are lucky enough to be getting married on a weekend that she is available, RUN DON’T WALK!
Leah is everything you could ask for in a photographer - extremely talented + a trusted partner matched with a personality that will turn even the most camera shy in to their best and most relaxed selves. You can’t help but smile when Leah is behind the camera and I’m forever jealous of anyone who gets to work with her on their special day.
Leah was booked during my 2022 wedding date, so we hired her instead for a standalone engagement shoot in Charleston, SC. Leah was flexible with the travel (1000/10 recommend booking her for a travel shoot!) and adjusted quickly to the unfamiliar location. Our photos turned out incredible and primarily because they reflected who we really are as a couple. Now, I just want to shout her name from the mountain tops because the whole world needs Leah Miessler’s photos lining the walls in their home.
Like I said, if you have an opportunity to work with her - RUN, don’t walk!

Pick Leah Miessler Photography!!
We absolutely loved everything about having Leah take our engagement photos! From her helping us find a place to take photos, and with how fast her turnaround time for photo delivery was, we were so impressed! We scheduled our date before the pandemic, but do to the lockdowns, we were forced to reschedule several times. Leah was so flexible with us! I also have to mention that we maintained social distancing during our photo shoot, but you could NEVER tell with the way the pictures came out. We are absolutely in love with the pictures, and will definitely be calling on Leah for our photo needs from now on!

We hired Leah to do our engagement photos and then ultimately hired her for our upcoming wedding day! Leah is amazing at capturing personality in her photos and creating a comfortable and really fun setting during her shoots. We felt like she really got to know us as a couple and provided some general guidance beforehand (like what to wear and what to avoid!) that made our pictures turn out even better. We used our engagement photos to create our guest book and wedding website and can't wait for her to capture the big day!

I’ve known Leah since my sophomore year of college at JMU. She was always a great friend and when my husband and I got engaged right around when Leah was moving to Richmond I knew right away that she was the only one I trusted to capture our engagement and wedding photos. Phenomenal!
Leah Meissler was PHENOMENAL! We hired her for our engagement photos and as our wedding photographer. Leah is a seasoned photographer. She coordinated with us on all the standard “Engagement” & “Wedding” BUT went above and beyond to take shots that we hadn’t even thought of. Some of my favorite photos are those random ones where we had no idea what she was doing. As a photographer she is down to earth and personable. Our engagement and wedding was planned through the COVID-19 pandemic and even though a year and a half had passed by between our shoots, our experience was as if no time had passed at all. She made us feel relaxed during each shoot so we weren’t stiff and self-conscious. We were impressed with how quickly she could provide us teaser photos of the event. That allowed us to quickly order “Thank You” cards with a photo from the wedding. I know this isn’t typical, but our wedding didn’t include a wedding party, however we had quickly realized that a wedding party is helpful in calming your nerves and last minute stress before the big moment, Leah as our dedicated photographer went above and beyond and was that shoulder and the rock we needed while getting ready for our big moment. She absolutely didn’t have to do anything more than take photos, but she ended up providing so much more. I 100% would have passed out from the stress and the record high heat of the day if not for Leah distracting my brain and calming me down.
P.S. My absolute favorite shot of the entire wedding is a candid shot she took while I thought we were taking a break to let an elderly man pass by the glass enclosed hallway. As he passed by, he let out the loudest fart, which echoed through the small glass hallway corridor. Our reactions were priceless and she managed to catch them in a shot.

Incredible Experience!
Leah was so phenomenal to work with. From our very first contact, she made me feel so comfortable and so excited to work with her. We met in person the day of the wedding and it felt like she had been a friend for years. She seamlessly folded into my friend group while we were getting ready, and months after our wedding I am still having friends tell me how much they liked interacting with Leah at our wedding. The photos were just INCREDIBLE. Leah really listened to what we were looking for and captured all of the joy and laughter so perfectly and so authentically. My dad, a former wedding photographer, commented on how her work was the quality he used to dream about in his days of being a wedding photographer. I could go on and on singing her praises!!
