If you want a stress-free day, hire Marissa!

I cannot say enough good things about Marissa and her team! Before the wedding she met with us multiple times and provided several versions of a timeline to make us feel comfortable with the flow of the day. I was able to enjoy a relaxing morning of thanks to Marissa's team handling the vendors and timeline.

After some alterations mishaps, I showed up to my wedding day without a bustle. Marissa single handedly made me one during the cocktail hour - now that's service!

My dad (who didn’t even understand what a wedding coordinator does), has not stopped talking about how smoothly the day went! And we can't help but agree with him:)

Simply amazing!!!

Where do I begin? After I got engaged, I knew I needed to find a coordinator/planner that could keep me organized & on top of everything I need to do. After speaking to a few, I found Marissa through a friend. Right after getting off the phone with her I knew she was the right person to help make the wedding of my dreams come true! She is extremely personable & I connected with her on many levels. She just got me. Throughout the year & a half of planning, she gave me packets and check lists. She also gave me some really great advice & was there for me when a big bump in the road came. She listened & remembered everything I said in previous meetings. She was truly there for me. When it came time for my wedding day, my best friend was shocked from how calm I was. If it wasn’t for Marissa helping me through this process, I would have been a wreck. I was so calm knowing I had THE BEST in the business. I knew that everything was going to be perfect & it literally was! Her team was amazing the day of, shout out to Angela who kept the men on time! If you made it through this long post I would HIGHLY recommend Marissa & her team to ANY bride I know! She will tell you what works, what wouldn’t work & if it’s worth the money. The Perfect Day!

Marissa and her team provide services that are invaluable to a bride and groom on their big day! Marissa is attentive, responsive and extremely knowledgeable that it is an unmistaken fact that she is the best in the business. Every member of her team is also unbelievably attentive and caring. It felt as though I was planning and enjoying my wedding with family and friends as opposed to a group of professionals. There are truly no words to describe our experience with Marissa and her team. From the moment we met Marissa, we instantly knew we had to hire her! Marissa is incredibly patient, personable and beyond knowledgeable about planning and coordinating a wedding.

Marissa went above and beyond from attending our rehearsal luncheon, to responding to all emails, calls and texts leading up to our wedding day.

I heard about Lavish Occasions from a fellow college friend. I'm unbelievably glad she referred Marissa. We had the most perfect magical wedding day exactly how I envisioned it and it was a huge thanks to Marissa and her team! I had a million questions and Marissa had all the helpful answers to all of them. I heard there were a couple of things that went wrong but somehow, to this day, I don't know what they were since Marissa and her team handled it. Nothing seemed out of line at all to me. Marissa knows her stuff and she really cares about her clients and their special day. We had a complicated wedding since we had 2 locations, 2 buses taking guests from the ceremony to the reception, bride and groom getting ready in 2 locations, and Marissa made it seamless. With so much going on, she put together a very specific and detailed itinerary for the entire day from start to finish. She even came to our rehearsal dinner and reminded everyone that this day was for us. Marissa was a GodSend! Definitely worth giving her a call and seeing how she can help. And her vendors were extremely helpful as well. They were willing to work with our budget and they extremely delivered as well.

Best money we ever spent!!

Hiring Lavish Occasions was the best decision I made during the entire engagement. We hired Marissa to plan our wedding from start to finish. I honestly don't know how we could have done it without them! From the very beginning we trusted that we would have the wedding of our dreams if we would follow the advice and we did. best decisions I made for my wedding

Lavish Occasions was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. Hiring Marisa and her team truly allowed me, my husband, and our families to enjoy the wedding day. Lavish does everything from keeping your photographer on schedule to opening the champagne the morning of the wedding so my mom didn’t have to. My husband was even grateful to have a coordinator at his house the morning of the wedding and that says a lot! You may think little things won’t happen on your wedding day but it does and it is nice to have someone else pick up that slack. My husband’s button on his tux broke off in the middle of photos and Marissa sewed it back on herself!

Hire Marissa!

My husband and I hired Marissa to help organize and coordinate our Snug Harbor wedding in Staten Island. She was such a natural and very easy to work with. Whenever someone plans a wedding the first thing I say is "Hire Marissa!" because she eased all our troubles. Loving lavish

Lavish Occasions was an absolute asset on my wedding day. They were able to keep the day running smoothly, so I had no clue of any problems occuring. Together, we set up tip envelopes, in which she help and distributed to all the vendors. This was a big help. I had my bridesmaids get dressed at my moms and the groomsmen at my apartment, where there was a representative of lavish occasions helping to keep the house clean, remove garbage or clutter, and even help clean up the food. I recommend Lavish Occasions!!

Wedding cordinator.

I used Marissa for wedding coordination. It was seriously the best decision I made. Lavish Occasions summed up in one word would be REMARKABLE. I was really impressed by Ms. Marissa. I needed her to take over and create the wedding of my dreams and she has delivered. This was the best money I spent on my wedding. I could not recommend Marissa and her team more. I sent a frantic e-mail to Marissa four months prior to my wedding due to an issue with my venue. Marissa called me on her family vacation and put my mind at ease. From start to finish Marissa and her team exhibited professionalism and knowledge. Marissa answered e-mails and phone calls promptly. I hired Marissa and her team as my day of coordinator but she went above and beyond anything I could ever have imagined. She helped me with my seating chart, finding vendors, and coordinated my day from start to finish. I was one of those brides that said I can plan my wedding all by myself without a planner. Little did I expect to connect with Marissa from Lavish Occasions one month before my wedding. I was stressed and in need of help and she was there to assure me that my wedding will be great. She was hundred percent right! Marissa and her team made sure to carry out all the tasks that I had asked of them to do on my wedding day. Rehearsal was organized so well by Marissa. Marissa and her team helped coordinate my wedding this past June and what an AMAZING job they did. I did not have to worry about ONE thing the entire day, from early in the morning until the very end of the night. There was nothing that Marissa and her team couldn't do and I know the only reason my wedding day was above and beyond my wildest dreams is because of them. Her prices are extremely reasonable given the amount of time and effort she puts into your wedding. Looking back, I would of paid 10 x the price, she is worth it. My husband and I just recently got married on June 24, 2017 at St. Ignatius of Loyola in Manhattan with our reception at the brand new Park Chateau in East Brunswick, NJ. I had very clear visions of what I wanted our wedding day to look like, as many brides may also understand, but I also knew that a lot of coordination and moving around geographically would go into our wedding day. Lavish Occasions was recommended to us by close family friends. Marissa was a wonderful listener and totally understood our vision and instead of pushing her own agenda, she gave us professional tips that we wouldn't have realized we were missing that enhanced our wedding day. She is a complete professional in every sense of the word, and it was an absolute pleasure to work not only with her but her amazing team of coordinators.

We had 320 guests at our wedding, 3 shuttles moving our guests from Staten Island and Westchester to the city for our church ceremony and then ultimately to The Park Chateau in East Brunswick New Jersey for our amazing reception. In addition, we had to coordinate with the church, venue, and five other vendors (hair and makeup, florist, event design, limousines & shuttles and the band). If we didn't have Marissa and the Lavish team on our side, we wouldn't have enjoyed the stress-free wedding day that we had as much as we did. People always say that you don't get to enjoy your own wedding because you are so busy worrying about all of the details and making sure it runs smoothly, this was not the case with Lavish as your day-of coordinator. They take on all of the stress so that you and your husband can truly enjoy your wedding day.

What can I say about Marissa? From the very beginning I could tell that there was something special about Marissa that set her apart from other wedding planners. First of all if you are a "Staten Island bride" she is the most convenient in my opinion. She has two offices so it is very easy to get to versus a wedding planner in Brooklyn, New Jersey, or Manhattan and you don't have to pay any tolls either! Second of all, from the moment I stepped in until today, I felt much more than a client. I would say that Marissa has become more of a friend. I had so many personal issues I was dealing with at the time especially with family members and Marissa talked me through everything. She even gave me advice on how to speak to certain members of our families! She worked with our budget and gave us a wedding program that we needed instead of overwhelming us with unnecessary things. She was honest and gave us many opinions about vendors and venues. She also saved us when we ran into a few problems before our wedding day! We didn't have any flower girl dresses a week before the wedding because our Etsy shipment fell through. Marissa immediately sent me a list of stores I could contact and I ended up finding beautiful flower girl dresses four days before the wedding at a fraction of the cost that you would usually pay! As sweet as she is, Marissa was also great at dealing with my groomsmen many of whom are cops and that was not an easy feat! And her assistant planners were excellent! She helped me plan my rehearsal, her assistant ran my rehearsal, she provided my bridesmaids with cute wedding itineraries, steamed my veil and dress, and ran my entire wedding day from 5am to midnight! And it was not easy! Our wedding happened to fall on the hottest weekend of the year, it was literally a heat wave and yet my event went impeccably! Marissa and team are by far the number one recommendation I make to all couples planning a wedding! Silly me, I thought I could save money by planning a wedding on my own, but once I gave up that notion, Marissa was essential for my day to go flawlessly! My husband and I got along with Marissa like old friends (and usually went over our meeting time) which made it feel like she would be invited to the wedding instead of working the wedding. She fought for the details and never dismissed any of our little ideas.

When my mom and I first met Marissa, I was 3 months away from my wedding day with no clue of what a Day of Coordinator could do for me. All my vendors were in place and I was hoping to find someone who would simply steam my wedding dress after a long ride to the ceremony. Well, Marissa blew that task out of the water and helped me with so many details, and some big obstacles, that never crossed my mind! We instantly clicked and she immediately knew and understood my attention to details. Marissa and her team were there to answer every text, email, phone call, within the blink of an eye. When we sit back and reflect on all of the wonderful people we met during our wedding planning experience, Marissa and her team at Lavish Occasions is at the top of our list. Their professionalism and dedication to our wedding was apparent every step of the way. Lavish Occasions was recommended to us by a very dear friend who had used them for her own wedding 5 years ago and was still raving about her amazing experience. From the moment we began to meet with Marissa, my wedding planning jitters were eased. She gave us advice and suggestions that only a person with her professional experience and expertise would have. Marissa ensured that our entire planning process flowed as smoothly as possible. We enjoyed working with her so much that we even purchased our invitations through her company and of course that was a breeze! When our BIG day finally arrived, Marissa and her team did not miss a beat. They were ready and prepared for any possible situation (like a flower girl getting chocolate on her dress BEFORE the ceremony). As our night went on my husband and I had not a care in the world because of the wonderful team we had behind us. Marissa was and is an absolute DREAM! She handled my son's communion and although a communion is not as elaborate as a wedding she treated it as if it was. She made sure every detail was taken cared of from the invitations to the goodies on the dessert table. I trust her opinion completely and I would recommend her and I would definitely use her and her team again.

Of all the decisions that I had to make in planning my wedding, the absolute best and most important decision I made was to hire Marissa and her team at Lavish Occasions to help plan my wedding. I think a lot of people have the opinion that wedding planners or day of coordinators are for people who have money to spare. It's actually quite the opposite. Marissa SAVED me so much money through her recommendations and referrals. I actually wouldn't have been able to have my wedding at the location that I did if it weren't for Marissa's negotiation to lower the guaranteed headcount. From that moment on, I knew I didn't have to worry about my wedding planning because whenever I was stressed out or needed an opinion, Marissa and her team were there with a calm and helpful response. I really can't say enough about how great they were. On my actual wedding day I felt completely relaxed because the Lavish ladies had everything prepared and organized for me. My wedding day went as perfect as I could have hoped for and I thank Marissa and her team at Lavish Occasions for making it possible! You girls are the best!

There are no words to describe how amazing Marissa and the Lavish Occasions team is! Hiring Lavish Occasions for Day of Coordination was the BEST decision my husband and I made while planning our wedding. From our very first meeting with Marissa we knew she and her team would help make our wedding day perfect, and we weren’t disappointed. Marissa is not only an expert in her business, but she also has a way of making her clients feel extremely comfortable and is a pleasure to work with.
Throughout planning, Marissa was always available, whether it was to help us make last minute decisions, provide vendors or unique ceremony/reception ideas, or to solve any rising problems. She attended our rehearsal dinner and worked around the clock in the days leading up to our wedding day, adding her little touches to make the day extra special.

Add that with her amazing team, you're guaranteed to have a great day. Thank god they were there- I had a few wardrobe mishaps (the stuff of nightmares for brides) and Marissa and her team fixed it as it it was no biggie. I'm talking about tripping on tulle and bead work falling out. They whipped out their tools and made it so the problems were fixed. They are your go to girls. The little things that you would send your mom or MOH off to do, they are there to help with so everyone can enjoy the day and focus on having a good time. Christine was a great help especially at my grooms house as they were getting ready- my MIL raved about her !

They also help to make sure your day runs smoothly and all your vendors are doing their job. They're on top of you for your time table ( I was ten minutes EARLY to my church) making sure you get everything you want out of the day, and overall an amazing support system that is worth it's wait in gold on such a momentous day. They were one of the best parts of my wedding and I would recommend Marissa and her talented team to anyone.

Marissa Mortimer and Lavish Occasions were hands down the most indispensable of our Wedding Day services. From planning to day-of-coordination, Marissa provided the guidance & services that ensured that our Wedding Day was everything we dreamed it would be.

In addition to advising us in establishing planning time tables, offering budget guidance, & having excellent vendor recommendations, Marissa also advocated for us with special requests & helped us attain the best pricing. This was especially crucial when selecting our venue, as a smaller wedding for NYC - where venues prefer or require high guest minimums year-round.

Inevitably, there were some hiccups in our dealings with various vendors, and Marissa was our angel - her expertise saw us successfully through critical discussions and ensured everything got back on track. Marissa’s calm and collected demeanor was our hidden strength overall through this process; she has the patience of a saint and always found time to listen and advise us on every wedding-related concern.

Marissa and the team at Lavish Occasions ensured the whole day came together and went just as planned. We have the fondest memories of our wedding day because we were able to entrust every last logistical detail of the day to them and just focus on being in the moment with each other and our loved ones. Any anticipated or unexpected need that came up day-of was met and the smiles never left our faces. Marissa and her team are absolutely wonderful! I am so glad I chose to hire a day of coordinator. At first I thought I could do it all myself, but the peace of mind that comes with having someone like Marissa and her team by your side on your wedding day is priceless. I met with Marissa many times before the wedding, she was always available via e-mail, call or text. She was so kind and great with everything. She really loves her job and knows what she is doing. My husband and I never thought to use a wedding planner. We are both very organized and detail oriented. We were introduced to Marissa at a Bridal showcase that was held at our wedding venue. Lavish Occasions is a preferred professional so we decided to check them out because we have great trust the venue owners. We ended up hiring Marissa and her team to be our day-of wedding coordinators. IT WAS THE BEST DECISION THAT WE MADE!! From the first meeting I knew that Marissa was truly committed to making our day special. Marissa is very professional, friendly and very, very knowledgeable. She helped us with many steps along the way. Save the Dates, Invitations, favors, wedding programs etc. She was always there to answer any and all of our questions.

I tend to get stressed out because I can be controlling but it was very easy to trust Marissa. Words can’t express how happy and grateful I am that we had Marissa and her team. They were with me and my husband from the start of our day and even attended our rehearsal. I especially loved that Marissa created little scrolls for our bridal party detailing the wedding day’s activities and times. Marissa’s team came to the salon to make sure things moved along, picked up the breakfast for our bridal party, coordinated all the vendors and kept them on track throughout the day and everything in between. I can honestly say that we did not stress out one bit. I highly recommend Lavish Occasions for your big event!!

We hired Lavish Occasions for our wedding this past May. Marissa and the team at Lavish Occasions helped to make our wedding day stress-free, fun, and perfect in every way. Marissa helped to guide in me in the right direction by setting me up w/ the very best vendors while keeping us within our budget. It would not have been possible to have the wedding of my dreams without Marissa's guidance. Our Day of coordinators were incredible and went above and beyond my expectations. It was such a relief to not have to worry about the details and logistics the morning of our wedding. They were in contact w/ the florist, photographer, limo, and dj and made sure that everything was in place. Having them there allowed us and our parents to actually be guests and enjoy the entire day. Hiring Marissa and Lavish Occasions was the best decision I made early on in the wedding planning process. Marissa was there from day 1 - joining my husband and me at our appointments with venues and other vendors – all the way through to the end of the night at our after party. Marissa ensured that every possible detail was handled perfectly. She is extremely professional, a pleasure to work with, and truly puts brides at ease. Her experience and knowledge in the wedding planning business are invaluable. She knows all the tips and tricks to making your special day PERFECT and unique. I really do not know what I would have done without her (probably would have gone crazy). She was with us every step of the way and having her and her staff on the day of was literally the icing on the cake. I cannot say enough amazing things about Marissa and her team. I am an incredibly type-A person, with binders and tabs for everything in my life, so you can imagine how I was with my wedding, and when I was in the market for a day of coordinator I knew I needed someone as detail oriented as me. Marissa met and exceeded that mark. We hired her on the spot, after she showed us the level of care, planning and precision she puts into each client. And she was so so much more than a day of coordinator for me. Our wedding had an incredible amount of drama, from programs and rehearsal invites being lost and never getting to us, to relatives who made it their mission to stress me to the breaking point, and Marissa was there every step of the way. Even the week of when I just needed to call and vent for 30 minutes, she was there (and, mind you, she is the recent mother of twins no less!).

I had an exhaustive list of things I wanted her and her team to make sure was taken care of on the day of, from lining the pathway to the venue with candles, to escorting guests to the venue itself with signs, to making sure the curtains at the venue itself were tied properly. She and her team delivered on all counts. And when I was beyond stressed at some of the antics that occurred on the day, and when my family and the groom's family decided to come to me at multiple points complaining about one thing or another, she and her team swooped in and isolated me from the crazy as best they could. In addition, Marissa had a team member with my husband the whole time too, making sure he and the guys were doing OK (I am sure the much less stressful group!). Hiring Marissa was absolutely one of the best decisions, maybe the best decision, I made for my wedding. She is on top of her sh*t, insanely responsive, organized, no-nonsense, and exactly what every bride needs in her life.

I could not recommend her more. She was incredible in all respects.

My cousin, who got married a couple of years before I did, highly recommended hiring Marissa and her team for my wedding day. My fiancé and I met with her for a consultation and we immediately connected. It was as if we had known each other forever, the conversation just flowed. Needless, to say we made sure we booked her before we walked out the door. When you decide to work with Marissa, you can have unlimited meetings to discuss plans and possibilities for your Big Day. I found it more convenient to e-mail or text but it was nice to know we could site face to face if I needed to. Marissa never made us feel as though she was negatively judging our vision of our wedding day. This was a breath of fresh air because once you start planning a wedding you hear a lot of what you should or shouldn’t be doing which quickly becomes exhausting. The days leading up to the wedding Marissa contacted all of the vendors and confirmed their responsibilities and times. At the rehearsal, Marissa paid close attention to details and made subtle suggestions that were truly appreciated. My bridesmaids each had a timeline of events for the wedding day which were hand made by Marissa. On the wedding day, I was a bundle of nerves until Marissa met me at the hair salon. Her calm and cool presence immediately put me at ease and I knew I was in good hands. Marissa and her team moved things along while we finished getting ready at the house. They were truly a part of our family that day and will always be thought of with loving thoughts and memories. We highly recommend Lavish Occasions to help plan your wedding, you won’t be disappointed.

We decided to do a fall theme wedding and excluded flowers from our decor which meant that we did not have a florist and someone to set up the centerpieces, ceremony space with all of the decor that we bought ourselves. It was a lot of work but I was thrilled when we met with Marissa from Lavish Occassions- she was so sweet and assured us that she would be able to help us with our wedding. I was nervous about trusting someone else to decorate but when I saw the reception room I was speechless. They had used all my supplied decorations and everything was so beautiful that I could not have even imagined to do a better job myself. To say that I was happy and impressed was an understatement and if I could do it over again I would have used Lavish Occassions as my wedding planner and not just my decorator. They have proved that they know weddings, they know how to make their brides happy and everyone was so nice and patient which makes the whole day easier.

I first met Marissa when my sister hired her as the wedding planner for her wedding. Her wedding went so smoothly that I knew I would be using Lavish Occasions as well when it was my turn. hired Marissa and her team to help plan my wedding day based on a recommendation from my florist June from Petals on Page. After my very first conversation with Marissa I knew she would be so helpful in my planning process. It was evident to me that on the day of my wedding I would be able to sit back and enjoy. The more I met with Marissa to discuss details the more I literally fell in love with her. She is so extremely good at what she does that she actully flawed me several times. She will take care of things you didn't even know existed in wedding planning let alone needed to be taken care of! I remember coming home from my first two meetings with Marissa and gushing to my hubby about how incredible she was and how helpful she has been. My husband, knowing the organized and almost OCDish behavior that runs through my blood, was a bit skeptical in hiring Marissa. He saw how well I planned and prepared and didn't understand why I needed to spend money to have another person help me. He just didn't get it. But let me tell you, when my wedding day came and my husband was assigned an amazing young woman from Marissa's team to do anything and everything necessary to assure he enjoyed his wedding day without having to lift a finger - he was the first one to rave about Marissa and her team. My husband truly couldn't say enough about how top notch Marissa and her girls were. They were there for the both of us every step of the night assuring we were taken care of. One of the girls even held on to my lip gloss and approached me to reapply every so often!!!! When you are having such a big event that you plan two years for, you want to stop planning, stop checking every detail, and stop obsessing on the day of the event. If you are looking for a wedding planner or day of coordinator, Lavish Occasions is where you want to go. Before I was engaged, Marissa was the Day of Coordinator for 2 of my friends weddings and she was absolutely amazing at each one. After being a bridesmaid many times, I couldn't help but compare other weddings to the ones that I saw her work. Things went much more smoothly when she was around. She really puts a bride at ease and I knew that was what I wanted for my wedding day.

Marissa met with me 3 times (not limited to 3 though!) and we had countless e-mail exchanges. She made sure that everything was perfect and completely timed our for our rehearsal, our wedding day, and for our guests. She is a beautiful person inside and out. Once we started working together, I felt more like I had made a friend than a business transaction.

The thing I will remember most about Marissa and Lavish Occasions services on my wedding day, was fixing my wedding dress...COUNTLESS times. I had additional bead work sewn onto the bottom of my dress, that by time I got to my reception was coming off nearly completely. Marissa and her team sat with me during my cocktail hour and restitched the entire bottom of my dress. Due to the poor stitch work of my seamstress, we had to do it over again thru the night, but Marissa and her team were always there to help put me together again. Without them, my mother and mother in law would have had the stress of fixing my dress and missing parts of my wedding. I could not be more thankful to Lavish Occasions for keeping a smile on my face on my wedding day. They made me feel at ease, calm, and well taken care of no matter what happened and that is exactly what a bride needs.

Marissa was very helpful throughout the entire planning of the wedding. Her recommendations regarding wedding vendors were spot on and she always took care of any correspondence with them if I needed her to. They were great throughout the whole process. I had done most of the planning so I need help fine tuning everything and that day, because I am usually a high stress person. The schedule Lisa made for me was so helpful and helped me stay on schedule the whole day. I had a few things go wrong and I have to say that I handled it with stride and I have Lisa to thank because without her I probably would have freaked out about those things. Lisa helped trouble shoot with anything that did go wrong so it was a stress off my back and I was able to enjoy the day. Lisa is the sweetest most helpful person and I really enjoyed working with her and emailing back and forth. It was always a pleasure and I am so glad I had that extra help that day and had piece of mind for majority of the day, which is more than I could have asked for!
