Queen of Photography!

I found Laura just from perusing Instagram. As soon as I saw all of those beautiful pictures on her profile I knew I had found the one. Her work is so vibrant and simply stunning.

Laura was extremely responsive right off the bat and even offered to meet with me while I was in LA visiting family. We chatted over coffee and I was immediately obsessed! She was engaging, personable and truly genuine.

Even after the contract was signed, Laura was always so responsive. You can tell she runs an organized business and is on top of everything. She makes you feel like a friend and not just a client.

Day of, Laura was punctual, patient and so sweet. We had a small wedding of 40 people and I am pretty sure Laura knew them all by name. All of my guests complimented her as well.

My husband and I did not have any particular poses in mind and we trusted her implicitly. Her cues were on point and she made us feel comfortable the entire time. As she was taking every picture, I kept thinking how I cannot wait to see all of them. I could tell then and there that they were going to be great!

We got married on a Saturday and had over 30 preview pictures just three days later. Just as I expected, they were PERFECT. Laura captured every single detail.

My best friend is getting married in 2020 and I am going to do everything in my power to have Laura there to shoot her wedding. My best friend and fiance are already on board! I cannot recommend Laura and her team enough.

Laura exceeded all of our expectations!

Laura was incredibly flexible from day one when we first met and continued to be throughout the entire process. She was such a joy and her personality made her perfect to work with for our wedding photos. We got great feedback from so many guests that enjoyed her presence during the wedding as well. She had the innate ability to know exactly what we wanted from our photos, and delivered that beautifully.

Amazing experience

Laura is top of the line when it comes to photography and just a wonderful person to work with! She did our wedding pictures and a boudoir session and we were blown away at how awesome they were!! Would absolutely recommend her for any photography!

Laura is amazing!

Laura is the BEST. Finding a photographer for our wedding was one of the most important things to me - photos are one of the only things you get to keep to remind you of your day after it has come and gone. I looked at lots of different photographers and spoke with 5 different people and I knew immediately when I talked to Laura and saw her work that she was the perfect fit for us.

Laura is not only insanely talented, but she is also incredibly sweet and fun to work with. My husband and I legit had a blast doing our first look and taking photos before our wedding. Laura has a talent for understanding people. She gets to know you really quickly and is really good at picking up on what you like. She scouted out locations for our photos that were exactly what we were looking for without us even knowing it! She makes you feel comfortable behind the camera and is great at giving direction without making you feel posed. She is also great at wrangling family and friends; my husband's family is huge and she managed to get them all to cooperate for lots of family photos that turned out beautifully. She also did us a solid when our timeline ran later than we planned and stayed later than she had planned to capture a few photos of our friends and family getting down on the dance floor.

We just got our previews back and looking at them made us feel like we were able to relive our day all over again. They're intimate, candid, and capture all of the little moments we loved about our day. They were exactly what we were hoping for! Thank you so much Laura for capturing our day so beautifully!

Laura is an incredible photographer! My now-husband and I began planning our wedding from a different state, and Laura was quick, prompt, and very accommodating when it came to "e-meeting" us via Skype for an initial chat to talk about our wedding and what to expect. We loved the photos we saw in Laura's portfolio before meeting with her, and talking with her just solidified our decision to pick her as our photographer on the big day. She described her style at work, which was non-intrusive and thoughtful, which we loved, particularly being in a wedding party full of nerds and introverts! On the wedding day, Laura was an absolute master at herding people around for photos, thinking up creative ideas for shots and angles, and working quickly and, again, thoughtfully as she kept our timeline in mind throughout the day. Our wedding was just over a week ago, and she sent us several previews just a few days after the wedding that had us in awe. My husband, who was perhaps the most camera-phobic of us all, had a huge smile on his face as he was going through the preview shots she sent us and commented on how great Laura was. After the wedding, I had a few guests comment to me on how impressed they were with Laura's "ninja-like" skills at the event -- she had a great sense of where to be and when, so she was able to capture so many great shots. We can't wait to see the full gallery when it's ready, and we highly recommend Laura if you're considering her as a photographer for her beautiful work, conscientious nature, and quick work on her feet! We can't thank her enough!

So many wonderful things to say about Laura! I was so comfortable from the first minute we met! She shot a beautiful engagement shoot of my husband and I at the Union Station in LA. All the pictures were flawless, it was so hard to pick my favorite one. Communication with Laura was easy and she was very responsive. The day of the wedding was perfect. Everything ran smoothly. Laura really took control, however she was never aggressive or pushy. She was able to share with me some of the shots from the wedding and they were nothing but AMAZING!!! People thought the photos came out of magazines, I can't wait to see them all! If you are looking for a photographer, look no further. I love her vision and her beautiful work.!

Getting high quality photos was super important to us so we looked at a ton of photographer websites in our search. We also wanted someone that was easy to work with that would capture everything without being obtrusive. Laura was an absolute delight to work with! We found her through the recommendation of a co-worker and she had just the style we were looking for. Our photos have a bright, happy look to them with just the right mix of posed and candid shots. Laura suggested things to us throughout the day and was very efficient when it came to getting family photos done. We ended up with 1200+ shots and love every one of them! It's hard to capture everything, but we think Laura and her assistant did an amazing job. Highly recommended!!

It's impossible to overstate how much we LOVE Laura Ford! Photography was one of the most important parts of our wedding, so we started looking for a great photographer early in our wedding planning. We love Laura’s photojournalism style: she’s great at capturing fleeting candid moments that convey the joy of the day. We also loved how her photos are not heavily filtered; they look fresh & modern, yet paradoxically also timeless & classic. We met with her before booking our venue, and immediately knew she was the one. She was so warm, fun, friendly, and approachable, but still extremely professional. Some wedding vendors can make you feel like you’re just going down a factory production line with no personal interest, but Laura wasn't like that at all. She showed genuine interest in us and made us feel valued.

We did engagement photos with Laura so that we could get to know her style better and get comfortable posing for photos. Laura immediately put us at ease when we began the photo shoot. We laughed a lot and had a ton of fun. She very promptly gave us a couple of preview photos, and then sent the entire set of photos soon after. We were so thrilled with her photos! Laura then asked us to tell her our favorite photos to give her an idea of styles to focus on for the wedding day, which was a nice touch. Leading up to the wedding, Laura gave us a very thoughtful questionnaire, reaffirming just how organized and professional she is.

In keeping with our entire experience with Laura up to that point, she came to the bridal getting-ready location on time and completely prepared (her assistant, Todd, did the same for the groomsmen). Seeing her again was like seeing an old friend rather than a vendor. At the wedding venue, she continued to be impossibly present at all places, capturing all moments, seeing all opportunities for an interesting angle or background. We love the preview photos she already sent us! We're now looking for excuses to work with her again!

Laura is the best! Our wedding took place in Topanga Canyon, but we live in Boston so it was important to us that our vendors were easy to work/plan with remotely. Laura was so responsive over email, quick to set up phone calls when needed, and we trusted her immediately -- even across the country.

Laura obviously takes amazing photos (you can check that out on her website), but I think her biggest value add is in her personality. She is so pleasant to be around, and got along with all of our guests, family, and vendors. I wasn't great about knowing which pictures I wanted taken (of people, things, etc.) and she just jumped in there and took every shot I didn't know I wanted. I didn't have to give her any direction at all. Also, I was pretty nervous about having all of the attention on me on my wedding day, and she did a great job of guiding my husband and I through pictures (but not too much), in a really comfortable way.

It's also worth noting that the Laura's assistant also had an amazing attitude (she was smiling ALL day) and took great photos! We can't recommend Laura enough, so if you're thinking about her, go for it!

Choosing Laura as our photographer was such an easy choice for us to make. As an art director and former wedding coordinator, I already knew what to look for in a photographer: friendly, responsive, organized, bright & easy documentary style, and someone my husband and I could have a drink with. Moreover, we needed someone who could travel between Chicago and Orange County. We really wanted our engagement photos in Chicago, our beloved home and city, but we also wanted the same photographer to shoot our wedding in CA. We were so happy to find that Laura regularly travels between both locations!

Laura's kind, laid-back demeanor immediately put us at ease in front of the camera. My husband and I are typically uncomfortable in front of the camera, but she helped us live in the moment and let our walls down—which made for much better photos (engagement and wedding)! During our wedding, Laura kept a close eye on our day-of itinerary and helped us stay on track without making us or our bridal party feel rushed. She was patient during our family photos, and was almost invisible throughout the day while she captured our wedding. Our family members and guests raved about how refreshing it was to attend a wedding where the photographer just let them enjoy the wedding.

My husband and I loved working with Laura and we cannot recommend her enough. We will cherish our photos forever. She captured so many lovely details and moments that we missed on the day of. Thanks to Laura, we'll be able to look back on those moments for years to come. Do yourself a favor and book Laura right away. Take it from someone with high standards for photography AND wedding vendors—Laura is just the BEST.

Laura photographed our wedding this past August in La Jolla and she was incredible to work with. I am not a natural in front of the camera, and Laura was able to make me loosen up and feel comfortable with the entire process. She has a great eye and captured so many fantastic shots. Laura herself is very sweet and fun to work with. She is extremely talented, very responsive, and prices were reasonable. I would recommend Laura to anyone looking for a photographer.

I was also on the fence about whether to do an engagement photo session. We eventually decided to go ahead and do engagement photos, and were so glad we did. We got to know Laura, have fun with her before the wedding, and get used to her shooting style. We have so many photos we loved from the engagement session, as well as the wedding. I knew we had made the right choice in choosing Laura as our wedding photographer as soon as the engagement shoot was over, and this was confirmed once we saw our engagement photos. It was such a relief going into our wedding knowing that Laura would capture awesome photos of our day.

Laura is absolutely fabulous! She's super professional and always responded quickly to my emails/texts. She's passionate about and loves what she does, and pays such close attention to detail-- and it shows in every photo. Not to mention she's incredibly sweet and friendly!
Me and my husband are not photogenic people and he HATES having his pictures taken, but she worked great with us and we both looked great in all the pictures :)
All of my family and friends kept commenting on how great of a job she did--and how sweet she was to everyone at the wedding!--
I could go on all day about how great she is. Worth every dollar and MORE! Definitely going to recommend her to all my friends who are getting engaged and married =)

Our friends had Laura Ford photograph their wedding and the photos were absolutely stunning! So when my now husband and I got engaged, it was basically a no brainer. We had to meet her! From the moment we first met her it was basically love at first sight. Not only is she extremely talented with the camera, but she is also very professional while at the same time being very down to earth. You can tell she is very passionate about what she does and that was very important to us. She captured our special day just perfectly. She made sure we got all the posed pictures just right, but she also captured the most beautiful candid moments (which were personally my favorite out of the bunch) She just nailed it! With all the stressful things that come with planning a wedding, choosing Laura Ford will not be one of them. I guarantee it. I challenge you to look up her work on her website. Laura made our wedding day flawless!! Look no further... She was wonderful to work with and super responsive to any requests. Absolutely loved her style and the turn around was super fast!! Her style was so unintrusive and subtle that you hardly noticed anyone was taking photos the whole day. She is so sweet and helps you relax when you should be stressed! My husband and I used Laura for our wedding photography and we could not have been more pleased! She was professional, reliable, easy going but directive. She had our pictures back to us SO QUICKLY! There are way too many amazing things that I can say about Laura and her photography but if I were a bride deciding who to choose to take my wedding photos I think these would be the most important things and they were ultimately why we decided to go with Laura.
First impression, she is super personable, she makes you feel very comfortable and really walks you through the process so you are not confused or overwhelmed with everything you are planning. She is very flexible when it comes to timing and really makes the moment about you.
She cares about her clients and wants you to have fun and enjoy yourself.
My now husband and I did an engagement shoot with her and it was amazing. We had no idea what to expect but we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We did 3 outfits which is a lot and she was always patient and had a ton of fun with it.
On the day of the wedding I was so excited to have her there because I felt like she had invested herself in our day and it made it that more comfortable. She really goes above and beyond for her clients and is one of a kind! I would not hesitate referring her to everyone I know because the quality of what she does is really outstanding.

I have traveled a lot and photography became one of my hobbies long time ago. That's why choosing a photographer for our wedding became a great challenge to me. I wouldn't say that I am very critical but I wanted all the details of the wedding to show our individuality and our own style. Most of my friends' wedding photos (hope nobody will be offended) were very similar and standard-same poses, ideas. Moreover, two months before the wedding I moved to LA and didn't have anyone to give me an advice. So I just started to search online.
Tons of galleries were visited before I found Laura Ford. The first thing that I noticed was her use of light and tenderness of subject all combine to make some of the most breathtaking images I have ever seen. She doesn't follow always the rules of composition which add some fun and her own style to her photos. So when I saw her gallery I didn't have any doubts, I realized that this is what I had been looking for. I showed my husband and his eyes started to shine looking at her pictures..
We met this talented girl in a coffee shop in LA downtown. I feel people and understand if we can or can not work together very easily and Laura appeared to be a very open, friendly and easy-going person. After a couple of her questions, I understood that we have the same goal to make photos which will reflect our love and nature.
The engagement photo shoot was included in our package. To me the result is the most important part. The photos from both our engagement and wedding were returned in an extremely timely manner and very high quality. But I also want to add how comfortable it was to work with Laura. She is such a sweet girl, very helpful, patient and understanding! At the end I had lots of requests about the pictures she published and sent to us and she did everything to make us happy.

Laura was this smiling, stealth, incredibly helpful amazing photographer who made our wedding day so memorable. I LOVE LAURA FORD! She is the best person to work with. My wedding like all wedding was stressful and she help keep my composure. She is flexible and works with you. On top of all that I got my pictures 3 weeks after the wedding. I heard so many horror stories about people getting their pictures 6 months to a year after. I would recommend her all the way. You will not be disappointed.

Laura has a creative eye and uses her surroundings to make beautiful pictures. She gives clear directions for posing and offers suggestions for different background views. Her ability to use the foreground and background of pictures is imaginative. She knows how to use the sunlight and sunset for magical pictures. She was flexible with us from the beginning and was accomodating to all our requests. She was a natural part of our ceremony and captured priceless moments. Laura Ford did a fantastic job on our engagement and wedding pictures. I would definitely recommend her. She was awesome prior to her working on our sessions we met her and talked to her, talked about all of our ideas. She was always available if we had any questions. There was a last minute change a week before the the wedding to the start of the getting ready wedding pictures and she was very kind in working with us and was available for us. She's the kind of photographer you want. She only schedules on event for the day. She's not like other photographers who over book themselves with all sorts of events all at once in one day. Working with Laura made us feel very comfortable it was like working with a friend not a stranger. She has a great attitude, she listens to the customers needs and requests. I would definitely call Laura for another event without a hesitation.

I can't say enough great things about Laura. Her ability to notice and capture, in such an original way, the details of our wedding has created memorabilia that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. She identified with the style of photographs I wanted and married it perfectly with her own artistry. She exudes professionalism and, more importantly, tranquility (which is invaluable on such a chaotic day). She's since taken our first child's newborn pictures and we had the same great experience. The quality of her pictures can't be beat, either. The colors are breathtaking.

Laura did an awesome job with our wedding! She was both efficient and effective in capturing our wedding and reception from multiple angles giving us a beautiful product to look back on! My fiancé and I LOVE Laura. She did our engagement shoot at our wedding venue and absolutely blew us away. We wanted a photographer who would capture the little moments and emotions. We knew we didn't want a cookie cutter shoot. She was everything we we wanted and more. I had a few ideas of my own and she was very quick to help me execute my vision. My fiancé and I were kind of shy in the beginning and didn't really know what to do, and she was great at coaching us and helped us feel comfortable. We loved how professional she was yet laid back. Overall, we are in love with all of our photos and we can not to wait to have her shoot our wedding. All of our friends and family have been asking who our photographer is. We are so glad that we found her!

I got married on August 9, and hired Laura Ford to be our photographer. There were so many little things that I absolutely loved about Laura both as a photographer and just as a person too. I think it's best summed up when I say that she was honestly one of the best decisions we made with the wedding.

Laura was warm and friendly through thick and thin both for the wedding and the engagement shoot. We had a few hitches w/ the engagement shoot so I really appreciated her flexibility and patience.

Similar to my thoughts, our guests and family members all had wonderful things to say about her too - both in the quality of the photos and her general presence and approach.

From the get-go, Laura was just easy to deal with, which was a huge source of comfort. She is transparent and flexible, and has a very calming presence about her, which is exactly what I needed on our big day. Plus, the photos are just beautiful! She captured lots of little details, and really caught the mood of the night.

I'd definitely recommend Laura to other brides!

Laura is amazing at what she does. The results from her photo shoot with us blew us out of the water. We didn't know we could look that good. Laura has an a creative eye and her talent is unmatched by anyone I have every seen. In addition to being excellent at her craft, she is also prompt and professional. I can't recommend her services highly enough.

I can't believe how lucky my fiance and I got with stumbling upon Laura Ford and her photography. From the moment we started communicating through e-mail we could instantly feel how nice Laura was. So quick to respond, so warm, and such a great listener. We had a particular feel we we're going for with our engagement picture session, so we informed Laura, who was all ears. Not only did she listen, she made it happen. She on her own went searching for the perfect location and boy did she find it. The mixture of her art education and passion for photography is the perfect combination for getting those perfect shots.

She made us feel so comfortable, like we had been modeling for years (we still are shocked about that)
We trusted her from the very start. So affordable. No secret charges. She sent up our very own usb with every shot on it, and from previous photographer experiences, we know not everyone is that generous.

If you're looking for the right photographer, you can stop looking now because Laura is your girl.
She's doing our wedding next October and we can't wait.
Until then, we have coffee date plans to get to know each other more.
Honestly blown away.

Anyone seeking amazing wedding pictures, this is your girl to go to. The hubby and I have not gotten tired of seeing our pictures over and over. The way that she was able to capture so many candid moments was the best part of it all for us. We were able to see things that we didnt know happened. Aside from it all, she makes you feel comfortable while snapping away. Great, fun, and warm personality! :)

We hired Laura to shoot our small wedding on the beach, and she did a fantastic job! The photos turned out beautifully. She has a really great eye and was able to capture the moments that we were really interested in: the small interactions between people.

She's lovely to deal with, super responsive, and was completely unobtrusive (which is pretty amazing given how small our wedding is). There are heaps of wedding photographers in Los Angeles, many of whom charge unbelievable rates, but we really don't believe we could have done any better than Laura.

We're thrilled and would recommend her in a heart beat.

I am in love with my photos from Laura! From the beginning, I knew Laura would be a low-key presence with an eye for the candid moments and tiny details of the day. My husband and I are both journalists, so having more of a photojournalist approach was perfect for us. Laura managed to stay in the background, while capturing every moment. Having a second photographer on her team was also so valuable, and made her pricing that much more competitive with other vendors. Between the two of them they were able to cover both of us getting ready with our guys/ gals, several angles of the ceremony, and helped us get all the requisite family photos done while also having loads of guest shots. The photos came back edited in an easy-to-use online album within weeks, and they are just stunning. The colors pop, there's crispness and fades in all the right places, and they show all of the emotion and fun of the day. Highly recommend!

Laura was so incredible to work with, and her work is absolutely phenomenal. We found Laura on the Knot, and we were immediately in love with her work. Her style is so unique and captures the beauty of the details with the happiness of the people. In person, she is even more lovely. She's very easy going and calm. She helped wrangle all of our party into great group photos and always seemed one step ahead of us for important shots. We are so incredibly pleased with her work - she captured our wedding in truly stunning photos. She was also great to plan with - very accessible and flexible. She even fit in a bridal shoot for me last minute the week of the wedding. Can't recommend Laura enough.

Extremely Disappointed with Laura

We are extremely disappointed in our wedding photography experience with Laura.

Laura has been unresponsive and has made several excuses for delays in providing our photos. We are now a year out from our wedding date and we have only received a small fraction of our wedding photos and none of the photos from our wedding rehearsal. At this point, we feel that we need to get a lawyer involved to make any further progress since she has broken several promises on timing of delivery, she continues to ignore our messages, and she has since moved on to other wedding projects as we’ve seen on social media.

Our contract stated that we’d receive the fully edited photos 60 days after the wedding date (October 3 2020) through an online gallery and a flash drive with all photos in 90 days which would translate to December 2020 and January 2021. We received a handful of preview photos the day after our wedding and did not receive one other single photo until August 5, 2021. It’s now October 2021 and we’ve received only about a quarter of the wedding day photos. I’ve tried to propose other options to her on delivery to make things easier (i.e. only send flash drive and no uploading on online gallery, no more edits needed, etc.), but she has ignored these suggestions.

I regret to have to write such a negative review about Laura because she was a joy to work with leading up to the wedding and day of, but she has really dropped the ball on us with actual delivery of the product that we paid for. Laura was the photographer for my best friend’s wedding in September 2019 – I had no doubt that we’d have a great experience and amazing photos. We flew Laura up to Alaska, all expenses reimbursed and full payment was made timely.

I have included some of the communication between Laura and I over the past year that shows how unresponsive and unprofessional Laura has been. Laura initially made us aware of health and personal issues in March 2021 (several months past December 2020 delivery in contract) that she claimed was the reason for the unresponsiveness and delays, to which we initially were empathetic and just asked that she’d get us an update on timing. I am so hurt by how sour this experience has turned – especially since we’ve been patient and we’ve done everything on our side of the agreement. To see that Laura has moved onto new projects this fall but has not responded to me since August is really disappointing. I’m embarrassed when I’m asked by family, friends, vendors on photo status and I have nothing to tell them. All plans to use these photos for family gifts, Thank You cards, etc. this past year have been crushed. Although the photos we have gotten so far are beautiful, the overall experience has been very poor.

Disappearing Photographer = No Wedding Pics > Update ;-/

Update, May 2022: After escalating the matter, several contentious emails, and lots of hand-wringing, we finally received our photos. Receiving all of our final deliverables took a while but we did receive them. Laura Ford's photos are good, better than we could take though any positives we could contemplate sharing are marred by the overall experience and fear of not receiving our photos and the angst of recalling those desperate months we thought our wedding photos were gone line the huckster we hired.
I hope we're able to update this review with good news, but for now please beware of doing business with Laura Ford. We were married in November of 2021 and have yet to see our pics. We receive a handful of proofs and as of February 2022, have received nothing other than empty promises and seen nothing other than missed deadlines. A little research is showing we are not the only couple with this experience since late in 2021. We found Laura Ford through our planner and hope having a planner with a network of connections will prove the key. We've seen other customers discuss the need for legal action, we don't look forward to such an outcome. However, at least we know it may be in the offing. For reference, we are 16-days away from 90-day since our wedding.
