Best wedding venue!!!
I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding experience than the one we had at the Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora. Our ceremony took place outdoors by the lake, and the setting was absolutely breathtaking. We had an afternoon wedding, and the weather could not have been better—the sun was shining, the breeze was gentle, and it created the perfect backdrop for both our guests and our photos.
A huge part of what made our day so smooth and stress-free was Kristen Terrell. She was phenomenal from start to finish. Kristen was there for us every step of the way, making sure every detail was exactly how we envisioned it. Her support put my fiancé (now husband!) completely at ease, and her kindness and professionalism made all the difference.
Because of the timing of our wedding, we were even able to take advantage of some great perks, like included chairs and additional amenities that really helped bring everything together. And as an extra special bonus, we received a free night at the hotel—such a wonderful touch! Our suite was beautiful, spacious, and elegant. I truly felt like royalty relaxing there after our celebration.
Overall, Lakeside Inn gave us the Humost amazing wedding day. The setting, the staff, the value, and the memorable touches all exceeded our expectations. I would recommend this venue in a heartbeat to any couple looking for a romantic, timeless, and stress-free place to say “I do.”-

It was perfect!
Such an amazing place to have a wedding! Kristen the event coordinator is THE BEST. We had a small wedding in the Garden Terrace and really needed some guidance lol. She was totally there for us. She walked us through the options and gave us a list of vendors they've worked with before. The food was outstanding and the cake slices... omgggg I could eat a slice every day. The setting was perfect...Mt Dora is the cutest town with plenty of things to do. All our family was out of state and they enjoyed exploring the area. Lakeside Inn is really reasonably priced and I'd say, look no further. Book it. -

We loved the Lakeside Inn
Process was straightforward and fairly priced. My now wife and I loved the atmosphere of the wedding venue itself and the downtown it’s connected to. Kristen was excellent and so was all of the staff. When we encountered a little trouble finding a DJ their preferred venders were great as well. We loved every aspect of our Lakeside Inn wedding and would choose it again if we knew everything we know now then. -

Wonderful venue and staff!
The Lakeside Inn is such a great property for hosting a celebration of any kind. My husband and I, along with our wedding guests, stayed here and had the best time. We also hosted a welcome reception in the main buildings lobby the night before our wedding and it was lovely. Kristen was so helpful throughout the planning process and helped ensure everything went smoothly the day of. The food was great, the atmosphere was perfect, and the location can’t be beat. I would highly recommend the Lakeside Inn to anyone - especially for anything wedding related! -

All in one Wonderful Wedding Venue
The Lakeside Inn was a wonderful place to have our wedding. Everything from ceremony location, reception/cocktail hour, to food and beverages were taken care of by Lakeside Staff. I apricated Kristen and Christopher’s timely responses to all my questions regarding planning and set up. My wedding guests had nothing but praise for the location, food, and kind staff. They truly helped make my day very special and streamlined. I would love to throw another party here one day. Food is divine, drinks strong, and the lake view is beautiful. -

Gorgeous and idyllic at it's best with all the benefits of modern ammentiies
I have the pleasure of being from Mt. Dora, FL so have been able to attend events at Lakeside throughout the years. It has always been the most lovely and idyllic setting, as if you're being transported back in time. There is really nothing that compares to these grounds. Recently I had the pleasure of working with their team to plan my 20 year HS reunion and everything was top notch from the food, to the attentiveness of the staff. Lakeside Inn is truly one of a kind venue, with everything you need to have the most memorable day. -

I cannot say enough good things about Lakeside Inn! It was an absolutely perfect venue for our wedding. The hotel and grounds are so beautiful and every single guest couldn't stop talking about how stunning it was. They all loved how walkable the hotel was from the rest of Mt. Dora. Kristen was great to work with and made the process so easy. We absolutely would recommend Lakeside Inn to anyone! -

My daughter's baby shower
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Lakeside Inn and the beautiful job they did hosting my daughter’s baby shower! From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect—the setting was charming, the staff was attentive and kind, and every detail was thoughtfully arranged. The décor was elegant and welcoming, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere made the day feel truly special. Our guests were so impressed, and most importantly, my daughter felt celebrated and loved. Thank you, Lakeside Inn, for helping us create such a memorable and joyful occasion! -

Our unintentionally perfect, perfect day.
Monday marked one month since we've been married! Our day was so spectacularly splended! I was not in amy capacity aiming for perfection, but even despite rain before the ceremony somehow we did indeed achieve perfection.
The staff here are amazing. Kristen Cruz, the director, was exceptionally patient and helpful with planning our big day!
We had our ceremony in the Garden Terrace, picturesque! The foliage and arbor just made it so special. And immediately connected to it is where we had our reception! The Beauclair. I can't say enough how wonderful the staff here are.
We also stayed in a King Suite. It was more room than we needed, but we were glad to have it! Surely an anniversary trip we will try to make annually. I'm a Lake County native and have always enjoyed Mount Dora, and now it has a special place in my life and heart.
If you're thinking about getting married in Lake County, this is the place!!! -

Perfect Reception
Everything from start to finish was great! Our room was quaint, our servers were fantastic and the food was great! We had the Italian plan. Kristen was great, it just went well from start to finish!
We brought disco lights and a playlist and had the room set up for a dance area. The entire party had a great time! -

Best day ever
We had the absolute pleasure of working with Kristen Cruz as our event coordinator for our 5/31/25 wedding at Lakeside Inn, and she made our special day nothing short of incredible. From start to finish, everything was perfect.
The reception food was out of this world-guests are still raving about it! The location couldn't have been more perfect, offering both charm and convenience to downtown Mt Dora. And the staff? Wonderfully friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile.
If you're looking for someone who can bring your vision to life while keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes, Kristen is it. Highly recommend! -

Highly Recommend for Special Event
My niece and I hosted a baby shower on January 18, 2025 with 50 adults and 10 children attending. The Lakeside Inn is such a charming site to have a special event. Kristen Cruz, Events Coordinator, was a joy to work with and very helpful in bringing our vision to life. As this location was central to many people attending from Daytona Beach, Ocala and Tampa, having onsite catering, with many options to choose from, was a huge factor in selecting this site. The food, self-served via buffet, was hot, delicious and beautifully presented. Their cake/dessert options were plentiful and fantastic! The service throughout the entire event was spot on. We provided our own table centerpieces and hired a local balloon artist to decorate our backdrop. We highly recommend this venue to handle your special event. -

Beautiful setting for our intimate wedding!
The Lakeside Inn staff was very professional and supportive as we planned and accomplished our out-of-state wedding! The wedding staff was very helpful and attended to details while we were able to enjoy our family and friends in the event. The garden was the perfect intimate setting for our small wedding. The whole property is gorgeous with many opportunities for photos and the event itself!!!Lakeside Inn's reply:

Amazing Venue!!!
This location was AMAZING. The scenery, staff, and food was just amazing. Everyone was so kind and accomodating and flexible. It was one of the smoothest parts in regards to my wedding. If I were to go back in time, there are a few things I may do differently but this location is NOT one of them. I have even recommended this location to other family and friends because I loved it so much.Lakeside Inn's reply:
Hi Nicole,

Wonderful Rehearsal Dinner
We just had our rehearsal dinner here at Lakeside Inn. Our event was approximately 55 people and we had it in the Beauclaire Room. (Absolutely beautiful room!) It was the best venue hands down. Kristen T. was our coordinator, and was amazing! She communicated with us regularly, took care of so many details, and made sure the night ran perfectly. The food was impeccable! We chose an Italian theme, and so many of our guests were 'Wowed' with how delicious it was. Her staff were so professional and catered to our every need! The night was perfect, and I would recommend Lakeside Inn if you want a classy, romantic, delicious, professional event!Lakeside Inn's reply:
Hi Kristy,
Thank you so much for your kind words! I am so glad you enjoyed both your time here at Lakeside Inn as well as the food! The Italian buffet is a well-loved menu by our clients. I hope we gave your family memories to cherish forever. Please come back anytime and ask for me, I would love to see you again.

From the moment we stepped foot on the venue and met with the coordinator to inquire on what they had to offer for weddings...to the moment it was time to clean up when the reception was over....has been magical. Jessica, who runs the wedding cordination at Lakeside has been an absolute Angel! Whenever we had a question and/or something was not going quite right she was always very responsive and helpful. In love with Lakeside Inn
Jessica, the wedding director, was great to work with. I have absolutely no complaints in dealing with Jessica. Everything I asked for she tried her best to make possible.
Due to budget reasons I offered a lunch reception. We served our guests, the salmon, chicken and pasta. I personally went around to check in with all my guests, and everyone loved the food! So many people came up to me to mention how yummy the salmon dish was.
I definitely recommend Lakeside Inn as an option for your wedding! -

We could not have been happier with our wedding at The Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora! From the planning with Jessica Crochet, to the room arrangements with Kim Chambers, the communication, service and providing professional feedback to our plans and helpful suggestions, what a professional and helpful team! Every guest loved the charm of the inn and exploring the quaint, beautiful town of Mt. Dora. Jessica even coordinated letting us use the pier so that my brother could bring his jet skis to share with guests on Saturday of the wedding, so including Lakeside's beautiful pool overlooking the lake, add water sports to the list of fun activities!
Starting with Jessica, we worked through selecting the venues at the properties, deciding on the wedding ceremony area by the lake, the Main Lobby for the cocktail hour and the fully opened Beauclaire Room for the reception. The wedding started out with about 65-70 attendees and 20/25 room block and grew to about 115 attendees and 40+ rooms at the end. Jessica and Kim worked with us through the all these changes. They made an effort to work with ALL of our requests, offering well-thought modifications at times.
On the wedding day, we asked for tables and extra chairs to be brought to the bridal suite for preparation. And then, as we were getting ready to leave the room, I realized that my daughter and her husband would be coming back to a messy room. I inquired if we could get the room re-cleaned, and they got it done efficiently.
Jessica's team put our table runners on the table, We organized the reception room setup, and Jessica provided a ladder, "building blocks" for the dessert table and other assistance. We had a family friend as ceremony coordinator, and Jessica surprised us and showed up to help the procession go smoothly, a big help for mom! The cocktail hour and reception went beautifully. Lovely food, and well-time professional service.
We enthusiastically recommend The Lakeside Inn of Mount Dora.

Perfection - we are from the UK and came to Florida for a destination wedding. Having spent many days researching venues from the UK on the web and then taking a trip to Florida about 12 months before the date to visit the locations the Lakeside Inn was by far the best. The setting is just stunning with the lake as the backdrop and the various locations to choose from for the ceremony. The staff are second to none, helpful, efficient and friendly, you feel like they care about you and that you're not just a number. Despite being in the UK, Jessica, our contact at the Lakeside, was brilliant and helped with every step along the way, and ensured that everything went smoothly. All the staff were great and even the staff in the restaurant showed us some group dancing in the evening ! Kim who dealt with all the room bookings was great and did everything she could to ensure that we had the rooms we need. Thank you to all the staff it was perfect, despite the weather meaning we had to move the ceremony at the last minute, nothing was too much trouble. Mount Dora itself is a lovely town and we felt 'at home' there from the moment we visited. Thanks to everyone again and hope to be back out soon. Pippa & Gary Conlan, 14th March 2017 -

Come prepared with as many questions as you can, but understand that Jessica and the other staff will probably think of things that you may not even know are important. You will always think of something else that needs clarification, but the staff is so responsive and willing to take time out to speak with you. I recommend Lakeside Inn and specifically Jessica for any and all wedding needs! -

Shannon, the venue mgr. was very helpful in arranging our wedding in a very timely manner. She knew our budget and was extra helpful to perform our wedding in the town me & my fiancée first met from an online dating service. I can't wait to finally get married at the Historic Lakeside Inn. Our wedding is approximately 10 months away and we have a special financial plan to arrange our special day. Once again, thanks to Lakeside Inn & Wedding Wire.
Sincerely,
John & Penny

Lakeside Inn was the perfect venue for my daughter's wedding. My son-in-law proposed to my daughter in Mt. Dora and they fell in love with Mt. Dora and especially Lakeside Inn. Shannon at Lakeside Inn was amazing. She had great ideas and very responsive to any questions and requests. Would definitely recommend Lakeside and Shannon.Lakeside Inn's reply:
Thank you Susan! It was such a pleasure to work with you on such a special wedding. It was certainly one for the books! -

If a rustic vintage style wedding is what you want this place has it all! They are so accommodating, I never heard the word "no" and the "yes" didn't have a $ sign attached to it! Very fair and reasonable pricing and gorgeous property with a lot of options for both wedding and reception!! If you have a lot of out of town guests as we do, perfect location as the guests may stay right on property and they will give you a room block with special wedding pricing! -

My husband and I got married here. When we went to look at the place we feel in love with the inn. We love old places and knew this is where we wanted to get married. They have many spots where you can get married. We chose the beach part they have out there. We also hired Mrs Lisa as our day of wedding planner. One of the best things we paid for with the wedding. She was on point with everything. -

Lisa was wonderful. The food was good - not amazing, but good. The service was excellent. My husband and I are still talking about how responsive (but unobtrusive) the waitstaff was during the reception. I would highly recommend the Lakeside Inn (and Lisa). We married under the oaks by the lake and it was beautiful. I was a bit worried that the boat rental place nearby would take away from the setting, but it ended up being perfect. -

If you're looking for an affordable venue where you can get married outside & have your reception inside, then you've found the perfect place with the Lakeside Inn. We loved how the catering is done on-site, which made it so much easier. We had our reception in the lobby because we fell in love with the fireplace & wooden floors. The ceremony by the oak trees was perfect for our outdoor ceremony!
Lisa is amazing! She understood our tight budget & helped us stay in budget. We hired her as our day of coordinator & it was worth every penny! Our wedding was beautiful & amazing. The best part was being able to stay their with our family & friends! -

The Lakeside Inn is an historic inn, and has a real Old Florida feel. We had a great time staying there & being married there. Most of our wedding party also stayed and they enjoyed being near the lake, the deck & the surrounding Mt. Dora area. We used Lisa Morgan as our day-of coordinator and everythign went off without a hitch. She was also great at responding to my flood of e-mails, and made me feel comfortable even though I was planning my wedding from out-of-town. The food was great & we all had a great time. -

We had a great experience having our small wedding at The Lakeside Inn. They were very accommodating and the food and venue were very good. Be aware that if you choose to do a morning wedding in the Garden there is a very good chance that a train will come through. Fortunately, the train conductor did not pull the horn when they passed us :) Otherwise our guests really enjoyed the venue and food. -

Wedding Welcome Party
We utilized Lakeside Inn for our hotel room block and wedding welcome party. As a hotel, Lakeside Inn is very dated, but charming. Some of the booking systems and age of the room provided challenges for some of the guests. In order to utilize the room block, guests had to call into the hotel directly. However, several times guests would get misinformation regarding the block or what was available. Upon check-in, several of our guests were not given the welcome bags we created despite being on the block. Additionally, several rooms had general maintenance or housekeeping challenges. As far as the welcome party, there was some sort of turnover with the event team that initially caused quite a bit of communication challenges . However, once we had the correct contact we were able to get logistics in line and create a great event. The food was amazing and the team was flexible when we needed to move inside due to weather. I’m not sure if these communication challenges would be worse planning a full wedding, but for our purposes we were able to navigate it and create a great night!Lakeside Inn's reply:
Hi John,
Being that our hotel is 141 years old and has never had the opportunity to be fully shut down and renovated, we do have maintenance issues but work to the best of our availability to fix them as quickly as possible for guests. We now have an online system where guests can use group codes to book standard rooms.
Communication issues were fixed very shortly after taking over the position, unfortunately at the time not all messages or emails were going into my inbox. I'm glad in the end we were able to create a great welcome party event for your guests! Thank you for your feedback!

A Good Value, but extra add on details are costly
My daughter was married June 12, 2021. We had a wonderful wedding experience. Jennifer, the wedding director was very kind and helpful. The only complaint is the extra details were costly and were not disclosed when we toured the venue a year prior to the wedding. Linens cost $600 and we weren’t expecting that cost. The appetizers and chicken entree was delicious, but the mahi was a little dry. The hotel is very old (1883) and the air conditioning is lacking in certain rooms. Our ceremony was in the Alexander room, which was very warm! The lobby was also very warm during the cocktail hour. Luckily, the reception was cooler! The venue has spectacular views, but there were some antiquated features to staying at this Inn.Lakeside Inn's reply:
Hi Kaley,
Thank you for your review. We do include linens, napkins, tables, chairs, glassware, and silverware in our room rental costs now. Unfortunately, June-August are some of our hottest months here in Florida. We do keep most of the doors closed during this time of the year to help our AC units so they are not overworking. Being as we are a historic hotel, and the oldest continuously running hotel in Florida, there are a few issues we deal with newer properties would not, but we do try to the best of our ability to make your stay as wonderful and memorable as possible!

All around, Lakeside Inn did a great job. Shannon was fantastic, and I just loved her. The food was great, communication throughout the planning process was great, and help on the day of was great as well. The ONLY reason they are not receiving the full 5/5 stars is because they gave away our back up room in case of bad weather, which we had picked out two weeks prior to the ceremony. Of course, the weather was on and off all day long, so this caused a lot of stress for my parents, groom, and maid of honor. I was not aware of the situation until the next day. Everything happens for a reason though; we only had a light drizzle during the ceremony, and outside is where I REALLY wanted to be anyways. I think we just would have appreciated a little communication on their end before giving away our only option for a back up room in case of bad weather. All around though, I couldn't have been happier. It was truly the perfect day. -

My wedding at Lakeside Inn was fantastic. I love historical buildings and this one is located in such a beautiful setting. We went with a vintage theme and my photographer captured it perfectly. Lisa Morgan is the events manager there and she did a great job and was always available. I also hired her as my personal wedding coordinator. That was such a big help as she kept everyone organized in all the wedding chaos! Everything went off without a hitch! Even the weather cooperated for us. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. If you like history, vintage buildings, beautiful scenery and the quaint charm of stepping back in time then I highly recommend choosing Lakeside Inn in Mt. Dora as your venue. -

We were married at Lakeside Inn in November. It is a beautiful venue, Jessica is wonderful and so helpful, and our guests had a great time. The location is perfect--right in Downtown Mount Dora with several restaurants and shops nearby so guests who traveled to Lakeside had plenty to do during their stay. In terms of service, there is some room for improvement. We heard that one male bartender was unpleasant. Everyone we interacted with during the reception was wonderful, however. The other negative was that we spent time/money making gift bags for when guests checked in and there were a lot leftover. What disappointed me most was how rude the woman at the front desk was when I asked her about it. I will say that other than that, everything was great. Everyone enjoyed the food, each location is seriously gorgeous (The Oaks, The Garden Terrace & The Beauclaire) and again, Jessica was amazing! Overall, I would still very highly recommend Lakeside Inn. There were several extremely sweet and accommodating staff members, the venue is incredibly charming and our guests had a great time! -

Let me couch my review first of all by saying that the Lakeside Inn went through 3 wedding coordinators from the time I signed my contract in December of 2008 to the time of my wedding in August of 2009. That being said, things went pretty smoothly, considering the change of hands. I just got a little frantic due to some lack of communication in the middle months. But the venue is absolutely beautiful, the food was all great and everything that was stated to be provided was. The wedding coordinator was NOT on hand on the date of the wedding and provided no assistance in coordinating the ceremony or reception itself so if you are thinking that is included, don't. I had a friend help me out with this, and she was INVALUABLE. For example, when we cut the cake, the food servers had all mysteriously disappeared so there was nobody there to serve cake to the guests. My friend had to go track them down! That and a little bit of a disappointment with the hotel rooms (the front desk told my mom she had to check out by 11am on the day of the wedding so she was trying to find somewhere to put all her things while I was getting ready, even though I had pre-arranged for late check outs at 2pm for everyone! They finally agreed that I had arranged this and all was well) -and several family members, including my husband's parents, had only cold water for their showers and the front desk was less than apologetic for this (and apparently couldn't fix it). It IS an old hotel and I guess that has its quirks inherent in the old "charm." But the wedding itself was beautiful and the food was great. I would recommend it (going into it with realistic expectations). -

I absolutely loved The Lakeside Inn...beautiful grounds, great service, good food. The hotel is a little run-down & could be beautiful! But the major problem was I booked the "Great Lawn", $1000 for the dirt, and spent thousands getting it ready (tent, chairs, stage, etc the whole thing). No one told me they had booked a wedding that ended when mine was going to start just across a small sidewalk right outside the room I was getting ready in! Needless to say, it was awakward & uncomfortable, and I coudnl't get my photos taken because there was a wedding right ouside my door that I didn't want to intrerrupt! So that was totally unprofessional & ruined my overall good impression of the Lakeside Inn.
Would reccomend as long as you MAKE SURE threre are no events that conflict with yours. Dont' take their word for it, make them be very specific! -

First of all, let me say that Lakeside Inn is a gorgeous location for a wedding/reception hands down. The new owner (as of end of 2010) has really turned it into a place where you feel comfortable. The waitstaff we had for the reception were invaluable. They were extremely helpful when I was decorating before the ceremony, during the reception, and during clean-up afterwards. Despite a popular belief that you have to pay exorbitant fees for coordination in order to be married and have your reception at Lakeside I'd just like to say that's when you talk to the owner. He is a great guy with a lot of years of quality management behind him and is super acommodating. The food for the reception was extremely fresh and of terrific quality. I wish I could post a picture of how amazing this place looks, despite being in a smaller town there is NO small-town feel here but rather old-world elegance surrounding everything. DEFINITELY worth a look if you want an elegant but not ostentatious wedding/reception away from the hustle and bustle of Orlando but close enough to be convenient. -

Pros: The venue is beautiful (especially if you want an outdoor ceremony), and the atmosphere is relaxed. If you have a lot of out-of-town guests it's perfect because there is lodging in the same location as the ceremony and reception venues, and Mount Dora is just full of little restaurants, shops, and tours that are all within walking distance of the Inn. The food is amazing (I'm told the chef used to work at Disney World but got tired of the commute), the staff are very friendly for the most part, and the bartender is a hoot. We had several guests say it was the best wedding they'd ever been to.
Cons: Although our day went off without a hitch, there were a lot of little logistical hiccups along the way that had me worried. The worst was when our guests started calling to reserve their rooms and were told by the front desk that there was no wedding that day. (It was just a lack of communication between the event coordinator and the front desk, but it certainly caused a lot of stress for us until it got straightened out.) The wedding coordinator, Stacy, is really enthusiastic and friendly, but she only started in the past year as a replacement for the previous wedding coordinator (with whom we had booked originally) so I suspect that the handoff of information and protocols was not as smooth as it could have been and she is still learning the ropes. To be on the safe side, I would recommend putting family members in charge of little details for the big day (which we did) or hiring a separate wedding planner/coordinator. The hotel amenities are also not very modern (it is after all a very old and historic hotel), which is either a pro or a con depending on what your preference is.Lakeside Inn's reply:
Thank you for your review and the compliments to our property and staff. Your wedding was absolutely beautiful and was executed flawlessly. Our on site events director is not a wedding coordinator. She is the liaison to the team, she communicates with our culinary and service staff to insure a flawless day from start to finish. Our team is dedicated to help organize the details. A wedding coordinator is tasked with a leadership and organization role over all wedding vendors, details and wedding day tasks. That is not the role of the on site events director. We recommend that all brides secure the services of a wedding coordinator/ planner to handle the many details. The venue is just one of them. We are indeed very pleased that the day turned out so special. -

Fall Wedding
The hotel was breathtaking and worth every penny. Their services were awesome at first but there was a change of staff halfway through the planning process and the rest of the planning became rather difficult. The communication was lacking and on the day of the wedding, my reception room was a hot mess. Luckily, my planner was on top of things and was able to get everything taken care of.Lakeside Inn's reply:
Hi Debra,
I am the one that took over during your planning process. I have learned a lot since taking over this role, and would like to apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during the planning process and on your special day. 2 weddings were planned for the same day upon taking this position which is something we will no longer do to provide the bride with our upmost attention on her wedding day.
Please rest assured that we have taken all of the issues that you have brought to our attention and changed the way we handle these problems ahead of time.

Chef John Carter at Lakeside did an absolutely amazing job with the food. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was at both the rehearsal dinner and the reception. We thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The service staff working at both the rehearsal dinner and the reception did a wonderful job of being attentive to the needs of our guests as well. We had multiple guests comment about what a great job they did. My only complaints on Lakeside are in regards to the chaos involving multiple changes in Sales and Catering Managers. We booked in January 2009 with Betty who we both adored, a few months later there was a new person. The new person, Barbara, was not at all a good match for us. She did not see or agree with our vision and that was when we hired Kristy (our D.O.C)(separate from Lakeside Inn). Barbara left not long after being hired (and we heard many horrible reviews on her). They then hired Lisa Hunt Aide which we found out about in June. We met with her and were okay with the change but still very content with our decision to hire Kristy. In October, I went to contact Lisa only to find out that she was gone and there was yet another new person. We met with the new person Lisa E. Morgan and went over things yet again. The new Lisa updated our contracts; although some confusion was involved and there was a bit of back and forth. Up until the 2 weeks before our wedding the new Lisa was really great about keeping in touch with us. The 2 weeks before the wedding she was a bit MIA and the weekend of the wedding I only recall seeing Lisa twice, both times on the day actual day of the wedding. (once while she was showing the venue to another couple the day of the wedding as I was in the Bridal suite getting ready and once right after the ceremony). I wish she had been a bit more visual that weekend but up until the 2 weeks before she was great. We assume that because she offers D.O.C separately through Lakeside and since we did not hire her for this that is why she was MIA…?
We had 12 rooms booked at Lakeside. We were under the assumption (and we now know this was incorrect) that the room “block” was all in the same area (hence the reason for setting up a block). When family went to check in on Thursday we found that of the 12 rooms 3 were in different buildings from the rest of the family. They were able to move 1 to the building where the family was staying and the family staying in the other room did not care so that was worked out. The last person was not family and did not care. We had earned 2 free nights due to how many rooms we had booked so we were using those nights Thursday and Friday(I stayed Thursday with my mom and sister and my husband stayed Friday with my son and my brother). When I checked in on Thursday I was given the keys to the bridal suite, walked over to the room, and there were bags in the room…i.e. someone else was already staying there. The woman at the desk was livid. (Not so much at me…but just in general and she basically took it out on us). She was very apologetic after she calmed down. It was a mishap on their behalf and they were in the process of notifying those guests so that they could give us the bridal suite. In the meantime, they gave us another room (which was an upgrade). The next night we were able to keep that room and still were able to have the bridal suite for getting ready the day of the wedding. Fast forward to 11:45am the day of the wedding. We were in the bridal suite preparing to leave for the salon and the front desk called.(we had just called them regarding the power going out in the room so they could reset the breaker) They notified us that someone was checking into the room at 3pm and asked if we were checking out soon! Needless to say an emergency call was made to my husband to get that fixed since our hair and makeup was scheduled to end at 3pm so we could return to the room to get ready for our 530 ceremony! (This is a point where it would have been nice to hear from Lisa that things were being taken care of…or even an apology)Thankfully in the end it was fixed but as soon as the ceremony ended my bridesmaids had to move everything from that room to my parent’s room so Lakeside could take the room back. They did give us a third night in the other room for free, which we passed on to family, to make up for all of the chaos. Family did enjoy their stay so all in all I suppose it wasn’t so bad. The one complaint from family was that the hot water took a while to get hot for showers and at times there was NO hot water.
Overall Lakeside is an amazing backdrop for a wedding. I am so glad that the weather cleared in time for our wedding to still be held outdoors and despite the issues I would recommend Lakeside Inn...but would recommend either hiring Lisa or hiring a separate Day Of. The food is amazing, the location is perfect for photos, but realistically they need to get their act together. -

The hotel is one of the oldest in Florida and it is really beautiful. I wasn't really interested in having an outdoor ceremony, but when I saw their tea garden, I knew I wanted to have it there. It was really convenient to have the tea garden for the ceremony and then right beside it was the room where we had our reception. The prices for both rooms were fairly reasonable. We were given one free night in the hotel for our wedding night.
We had one hotel wedding coordinator that we met with and she was very nice when we toured the hotel the first time. Very quickly after that, she was replaced by someone else. The next coordinator was also very nice, but it was hard getting a hold of her sometimes on the phone. I would leave messages, but it took forever to get a response.
On the day of the wedding, the coordinator called out sick. We had just been at the hotel the day before for the rehearsal. She didn't seem sick. She didn't indicate that anything was amiss. She supposedly had an assistant, who I did talk with a couple of times. There didn't seem to be any indication that the assistant was called in to take over her duties that day. We were just left with the staff that was there that day to deal with it. Most of them were very nice and did the best they could, but they didn't have any experience dealing with that stuff.
I was told often by many that weddings never run on time. And we were having some difficulty getting the ceremony started on time. I had one member of the staff remind us that we were behind, and she seemed really frustrated and walked away and talked to another staff member and threw up her hands and was talking angrily to the other one. It made me even more frazzled. Other than that, the staff were really some of the friendliest I've come across and were really helpful. Everyone offered congratulations and were really nice.

The event director, Stacy attended my daughter's rehearsal and was well aware of our line-up. She certainly seemed to be 'in charge' of coordinating. The following night, as it was time to start the ceremony, stacy told me that it was time for me to go in. I made eye contact with her and pointed to my 6 yr old that was sitting in a chair and said, "he's right here"she said, 'ok'. He was ready with his sign that said, "Here Comes my Sister". I told him not to move until told to do so. I went in and found my seat and shortly after the girls came pouring down the aisle. No timing or pacing, just one after another. Next thing I know my daughter and her father are 1/2 way down the aisle marching to the same music. The music stopped and 3/4 down the aisle started the wedding march. (not what a bride has practiced all her life). I continued to watch in tears as her father gave her away and the first few words from the officiant when it hit me that my son, & ring bearer, was missing. I turned to the people on either side of me asking where my son was, one of the g'mothers realized why I was looking all over the room and went out in the lobby -behind the closed doors- to find him sitting alone in the chair that I told him not to move from -thank God-. My husband later confronted Stacy and asked what happened, she responded, "the wedding party bum-rushed her" and walked off without even an apology. My husband said there was a strong scent of alchohol. Later when talking to staff members, one commented 'I don't know why she does that'. I called Stacy to tell her about this incident and her response, although she apologized on stacy's behalf was, "I don't believe that". She went on to defend her and blame us for not having a coordinator. If you want to risk having a wedding at the Inn because it's beautiful and the caterer's were wonderful, I would highly recommend you bring in your own coordinator and do not trust stacy with one of the most important days of your life. -

It is a shame that such a lovely location has so many issues with keeping their employees. Since we contracted the venue for our wedding 8 months in advance, we went through 4 event/catering manager changes which meant starting over and over again with wedding coordination and planning. Hopefully the person who they have now will stay for a long time. Lisa was very understanding and helpful and thanks to her we pulled it off. -

Monumental Incompetence.
I'm not sure if the previous reviews are accurate and the service has deteriorated since, or if they are false reviews written by the company, but my experience has been less than enjoyable. I booked the venue this Spring, and booked the Dock as the ceremony site, and the Garden Terrace as reception site. I was reassigned a different coordinator three times, having to re-explain all of the details and revisit the venue multiple times to discuss set up. Never got calls returned. One night after eating dinner downtown i noticed the bars located by the Garden play LOUD live music. I inquired with the coordinator and she said the owner was very nice and would be accommodating. My fiance called and the bar owner informed him it would cost him "thousands" to pay them to move inside or start later. We then made the decision to just relocate the reception down by the lake. Did another walk through detailing the new layout, and two days before the wedding the hotel called and said that coordinator had an emergency and wouldn't be coordinating my wedding. They had to hire the man that is doing my chairs and lights to coordinate my event because they can't even do it themselves. In which, he informed he frequently sets up weddings at lakeside and said "the garden terrace is always a problem as the live music always overpowers the receptions and ceremonies." The venue is in complete denial that they have done anything to make this experience unpleasant, and additionally, it cost me $500 more to move my reception to a location I didn't even want to have it at but felt I had to because otherwise I can't even play music at the reception. They were just featured in Southern Living and need to STEP UP because they are incredibly incompetent and if I could do it again I would run and book anywhere else. -

My fiance and I were coming in for only one weekend to look at venues, we had called Lakeside Inn 3 times to schedule an appointment and did not receive a single call back. The venue is really quaint, picturesque, and honestly a beautiful setting for a Spring wedding. We ended up walking in on Friday to see if we could meet with them and look at the venue. The corporate events planner was kind enough to drop what she was doing and provide us with the pricing paperwork and show us potential rooms for our wedding. She then told us that there was actually no chance of speaking with the wedding planner at all as she was preparing for a wedding on Saturday. Per her recommendation to see the room being set up, we returned on Saturday so we could get a visual of what our wedding would look like there. I will admit that we were a bit pushy and asked again if we could meet with you for 10 minutes (or less!) just to confirm if our date was in fact available. The corporate planner became very rude and the way she snapped back at us made our decision clear to go with another venue.
As a bride-to-be, I admire the 100% attention given to the wedding that day. However, finding out that all weekends are currently booked in March 2015 except for one, and seeing first hand that there is a lack of communication while another wedding is happening leaves me feeling unsettled that I will receive adequate attention while planning my wedding from out of state. -

Zero Stars
I wish I could give the Lakeside Inn a zero star review.
My husband and I had our wedding at the Lakeside Inn on 7/28/23.
We live locally and loved the aesthetic beauty and convenience for family traveling.
However, our bubble was burst very quickly.
The planning process was a disorganized mess, which caused tons of problems the day of the event. The problems included- running out of food (causing guests to leave), all the tables being set up wrong or missing, rude staff (especially the bar staff), staff not communicating that food wasn’t gluten free and gluten sensitive people eating food with gluten, etc.
When following up with the staff, the manager Sebastian was incredibly arrogant and rude saying that problems that were caused by them were our fault. Thankfully we were compensated for the trouble, but it was a very frustrating process. We were told that it would take 3-5 days. Over a week later I followed up and it wasn’t processed yet… if I hadn’t emailed to follow up would I have been paid at all???
In terms of the rooms, my sister in law’s room had bugs in the bed. DISGUSTING. My room had a broken shower drain as well.
Please take my word when I say that the service at the lakeside inn is awful. Do not waste your money on this venue or inn. -
