We recently worked with La Louisiane for our wedding cake as they came highly recommended by our planner. She shared that their cakes are delicious and loved by both people who love sweet and savory, which was important to us as I have a huge sweet tooth and my husband is not a big dessert person. And she was so right, my husband rarely likes cake but we both LOVED it and got many compliments from our guests!! The variety of cakes and frostings to choose from was great and the cake came out beautifully. No notes we loved it all! -

Hands down, the best wedding cake we have ever had in our lives! Not only did the cake taste good, but it looked beautiful, too. They were able to accomplish our wishes perfectly. My husband requested a more complicated groom’s cake design and they replicated his vision exactly as expected. The taste test prior to the wedding was the highlight of our wedding planning process! Once you try their cakes, you won’t look anywhere else.

BEST experience working with La Louisiane for our wedding and groom's cake!! Thank you so much, the pictures don't even do them justice!!! We barely took any home with us and the carrot cake was gone so quick we didn't even get to try it - a real hit! -

My husband and I were married on 3/6/2020. We hired La Louisiane Bakery to provide our wedding cake, grooms cake and sweets table and everything tasted like heaven! All of our guest simply raved about how wonderful all of the desserts were. I could not have asked for anything more. Everything they provided looked and tasted divine. As for the service, they were so nice and kind and worked with us easily on every detail we asked them for. Do yourself a favor and hire them to provide the sweet treats for your special day. -

La Louisiane is so kind and attentive. Whenever we needed anything, they were available. They really specialize in wedding cakes, as they don’t have a normal operating bakery. From the tasting, I knew they were special. They provided a simple, yet elegant cake along with a naked carrot cake for my groom. Both cakes ran out (we had another 1/2 sheet though!) and everyone could not stop talking about how delicious both cakes were. We are so thankful! -

We got married in NOLA on June 1, 2019 and were out of towners from Houston. It was helpful that LaLou was super responsive and clear in their communication. We went in for an in-person tasting only once, shared our feedback, and then they nailed it in the finished product. Since I am gluten intolerant, we wanted one tier to be GF. To avoid cross contamination, we had a deconstructed cake with separate tiers. I chose a rose water flavored cake, which was custom and they did a fantastic job making the (blush colored) buttercream icing rose-flavored! My husband chose a chocolate/white chocolate combination for another tier, and a strawberry/vanilla/almond “Bakewell Tart” imitation for the third tier. It was all entirely amazing and we enjoyed cake at the reception and again at brunch the next day!

Jenna Sent on 07/15/2019How do you summarize "BEST CAKE OF MY LIFE"!?!?!?!
Other than our venue and picking out my dress, the cake was THE most important thing to me - I LOVE CAKE! My husband and I live in NYC so we made a trip to NOLA to visit vendors and test some food about 6-7 months before our wedding. We tested 3-4 bakeries and let me tell you - La Louisiane is the best cake I have ever eaten in my life. Our guests are still talking about "THAT cake."
I'm considering going back down and ordering one just 'cuz. Amanda was super flexible and was able to make basically whatever - I asked for a funfetti cake, which we did not taste test and wasn't an offering on the platter.
My only hesitation with them was the $200 Sunday delivery charge which seemed really extreme and was the price of two of our single tier cakes and they forgot to put the gold foil leafing on my main cake, but when I noted it afterwards Amanda took the price off. In any event, I ordered cookies/brownies/cannoli's at the last minute and they were gracious and added to our order, they were unreal.
You cannot go wrong with this place.
And now I just want cake. -

I cannot say enough great things about the wedding cake and grooms cake that La Louisiane made for our wedding. The were Perfection!! I provided pictures to the bakery of what I wanted, and the cakes completely exceeded my expectations. They were so beautifully decorated, and they tasted AMAZING. These were without a doubt the best cakes I have ever tasted. All of my guests kept asking for more cake, and the venue had to set some aside for us to take home because it was getting eaten so quickly. I would highly recommend this bakery not only for their beautiful cake decorating, but also for the delicious taste! -
Heather Sent on 03/27/2018La Louisiane makes phenomenal cakes! We were between them and another bakery and decided to go with LLB because their almond cake was so moist (hate that word ha) and delicious. When it came time to cut the cake at the wedding, we took a bite for pictures and then I literally started to stuff my face with more cake - it was so good! We did a 4-tier cake (2nd one from the bottom was fake) - bottom layer was almond, 3rd layer was chocolate and top later was almond with funfetti :) We decided to not save the top cake because we are out of state and we were flying to Thailand but we WILL be ordering a replica to be sent to us on our 1st anniversary and I CANNOT wait!

La Louisiane baked our wedding cake for our destination wedding in Nola. They came highly recommended by our venue and we could easily see why. Hands down the most moist and flavorful cake we tasted and that I can remember from any wedding I’ve been to.
We chose traditional almond cake with almond and raspberry jam filling topped with 50/50 Swiss and American buttercream frosting. This review is making me want more! -

Melanie Sent on 02/19/2018I did not hire La Lousianne, however it was one of two bakeries that my wedding planner set up tastings with. We didn't book them, but it had nothing to do with their cake... the cake was delicious. La Louisianne was our second cake tasting and the presentation was very underwhelming compared to the first.
The bakery is located outside of New Orleans in an industrial area. I'm not sure what happened but the other tasting came to us and for La Louisianne we had to go to them. This wasn't overly convenient since we live out of town and had 6 people (including parents), but also you lose a little appetite when driving through an industrial park. Once we arrived, we waited in the entry for at least 10 minutes before anyone came out to greet us.
The cake was good, and they have a buttercream where they mix the French and American recipes so it's somewhere in the middle for sweetness- which everyone loved.
During our first cake tasting, the first bakery clearly had seen our wedding design plan so she asked some more specific questions and bounced ideas off of us. During this tasting, it was clear they had not reviewed the design plan and weren't familiar with what we were looking for- we had a lot of basic conversations that didn't seem particularly creative or exciting. That left us feeling "meh" about the experience. They would be a great vendor if you know exactly what you want, but if you are looking for a vendor to take some creative license it might be more challenging to get something you like.
After all of that, they were also slightly higher in price than the other bakery where we had a better experience.
