When planning for my wedding, I read that you shouldn't skip out on a wedding coordinator. I can absolutely confirm that advice to be true - L&M (Lorrie and Melissa) were crucial in the success of our wedding. I chose their Wedding Coordinator package. Lorried helped with vendor recommendations (they were all wonderful), vendor coordination, ceremony protocol, and so much more. I highly recommend working with L&M Detailed Events. They're experts and will work so hard to make sure you have the best wedding day possible. -

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Lorrie. From the very beginning, she was incredibly reliable, organized, and thoughtful. Since our wedding was not local to Louisville, she worked with me remotely for months leading up to the day, making the entire planning process feel seamless despite the distance.
Our reception was held on my family’s farm, which meant everything had to be sourced and coordinated from scratch. She managed the unique challenges that came with that effortlessly—coordinating vendors, logistics, and setup with ease and professionalism. Because of the time and care put in ahead of the wedding, everything ran smoothly, and my family and I didn’t have to worry about a single thing.
Her calm presence and ability to navigate both remote planning and on-site coordination made the entire experience truly stress-free. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a planner who is dependable, adaptable, and genuinely invested in making the entire planning process feel less daunting. -

Lorrie was my main contact, and Melissa was there the day of the wedding for additional coordination (which was wonderful). Everything on my wedding day ran so incredibly smoothly, and she was on top of the timeline!! Simply the Best!
I cannot even begin to explain how amazing Melissa was in helping my daughter plan and execute the wedding of her dreams! Melissa was there every step of the way and more. Her attention to detail, her ability to see a potential issue and rectify it before it could happen, and her organization was top-notch. The thing that stands out the most, simply put, is her. She is an amazing person with a heart of gold and it just shines through. Her smile and her words bring calm during a time of nerves and provide you with a feeling that all is well. We cannot recommend L & M events enough! For our wedding we worked mainly with Lorrie, but we also had Melissa present at our wedding and meetings. They both were beyond phenomenal! They made the day run seamlessly. Prior to our wedding they answered all of our text emails phone calls and we're with us every step of the way! I am a type A, planner, need to be in control of everything but I was able to let go and enjoy because of them! It was so nice to be able to not have to worry about anything because they were on top of literally everything. Whether it's full wedding planning or a day of wedding coordination- Lorrie and Melissa of L&M events are the people to go too! -

L&M Detailed Events is the way to go if you're wedding planning in Louisville! I worked most closely with Lorrie on my wedding and she was a pleasure to work with. When I was struggling to decide on venues, she helped us tour lots of different options around town. Lorrie is especially talented with all of the interpersonal skills, including helping us manage all the meetings and communications with vendors and guests. Lorrie and Melissa worked together to bring our events to life seamlessly on the day-of! Everything was pretty darn perfect and how I dreamed it would be! Couldn't recommend L&M more highly! -

I was blessed with 2 daughters that wanted their wedding within 2 months of each other. As expected, they wanted completely different experiences. The first was a formal ballroom wedding at the Brown Hotel with elaborate flowers, candelabras, soft lighting, serving on fine crystal and china. The other was an outdoor Kentucky theme at Oxmoor Farms. A vespa serving their signature drink Aboral Spritz, Bourbon tasting, lawn games and dancing under the stars. Both wedding served about 130 guests.
I was asked several times before and after how did I pull of such splendid events. My answer was L&M Detail Events. Lorrie was my main contact and she provided guidance and offered solutions every step of the way. I could never have done it without her. I never felt overwhelmed, because I knew I could contact her and she would provide the wisdom and ultimate solution to each situation.
Having both Lorrie and Melissa at each wedding made me feel as if I was their only customer, making me feel special. I could go on, but simply stated, there is no one I can imagine that could have made these events more memorable.

Not only did they help me achieve the wedding of my dreams, but I was so relaxed the weeks leading into my wedding because of L&M. Stress-free day!
Lorrie Hanners is an absolute wonder woman and out of every decision I made for my wedding, hiring her to be my day-of coordinator was the best one! From about a month out from the wedding, I had a long meeting with Lorrie to go over the details of my day, and then following that meeting she was always very responsive with any additional questions I had via text. She came to my house to pick up all of the decorations the week of so I didn’t have to worry about transporting them to the venue. During the wedding day, she allowed me, my parents, and the entire wedding party to be present in the moment and enjoy the whole day without stress. She is personable, kind, fun, and the absolute best person to manage your wedding day. Her assistant she brought that day was also incredibly nice and accommodating. I spent a year planning my wedding and all of the details that went with it and she made all of those dreams and plans come true! Amazing, Outstanding, and a Godsend!
Lorrie Hanners was amazing in helping with the preparations for our daughter's 10/16/21 wedding. She made the whole process enjoyable and stress-free. With only several months notice, Lorrie got all the necessary vendors and coordinated with our daughter who was busy with medical school, patiently waiting as decisions were eventually made. She was easy to reach either by cell or by text and helped create the garden vision our daughter wanted for the reception. Lorrie also took care of unexpected events that came up quickly and efficiently-such as getting the tux for the added groomsmen the day before the wedding (as the original groomsman was too sick to fly ) and helping prepare the gift bags for the hotel guests!
Most importantly she and Melissa were such a big help during the wedding day allowing us to enjoy the celebration instead of worrying about the details! Having L & M handle the wedding planning was so worth the investment! I would highly recommend them! -

It was an absolute pleasure to work with L&M events. They did not overlook a single detail and went above & beyond to ensure that my day ran seamlessly. From my initial meeting with them months before my wedding, it was evident that they had my now husband and my best interest in mind. They worked tirelessly to bring our dream of an intimate, yet exciting wedding to life. They definitely delivered! They allowed me to feel heard and ensured that on the day itself I didn't field a single stress-factor. Even my mom, who is as Type A as the come, got to relax and enjoy the day thanks to L&M's keen eye to detail and precise planning. The fact that myself and my immediate family were able to relax and enjoy the magic of the day was one of the greatest gifts I received. All in all, I highly recommend L&M events to anyone looking for kind, caring, and highly professional wedding planners. -

I can’t say enough good things
We met Melissa and Lorrie after meeting other event planners and immediately felt at ease and that our wedding vision was their goal. They are professional transparent ( do not take kick backs from vendors ) seasoned flexible —- boy was that apparent from covid standpoint... moved our daughters wedding from large venue to home with ease even helping our daughter come to peace with the change. Melissa was very involved from minute one and quickly assessed our vision family dynamics our daughters priorities and ours. And did I mention they are fun and felt like family by the time the wedding was over and now I miss our phone calls and texts. You will thank me for recommending them. -

In need of a wedding planner, look no further!
As a pharmacy resident working 70 hours a week I needed someone to help me make my vision come true and that is exactly what Lorrie with L&M Detailed Events did!
Starting from the beginning she made great recommendations for vendors that were within my budget but had the same style that I was looking for that were much more expensive. The entire year she was the main contact for them and would let me know when I needed to do something which made my life so easy. I never felt like I was forgetting anything!
Lorrie was so easy and fun to work with and was available day and night. She had so many ideas and did anything to see them through. Ex. Finding cereal flavored ice cream for midnight snack (served it herself to save us money) and figuring out our send off with venue restrictions (she gathered and hole punched leaves for us!!)
On the day of the wedding she was prepared for and thought of everything! I did not have to lift a finger and the day went completely smooth because of her. I honestly can’t imagine how much stress coordinating the day of would have been on me and my family/bridesmaids.
I highly recommend Lorrie and L&M Detailed Events, I would do it 1000 times over with them.

Fairy Godmothers in Disguise
Having Lorrie and Melissa as wedding day coordinators was a wonderful experience and truly couldn't imagine my wedding day without them. Not only were they there for me, the bride, they had my whole family's and bridal parties back. From my setting the escort cards, memorial table, and table decorations, my aunts shoes and dress breaking, to my dad forgetting his shoes, and Melissa filming my niece walk down the aisle as the flower girl so I could watch before I walked down myself. Lorrie and Melissa are a must for your wedding. I was relaxed and enjoyed everything without having to worry about all the little pieces that pull the wedding together.L&M Detailed Events's reply:

Lorrie was our main point of contact throughout the whole process, we live in another country so there was a lot of Facetime calls and emails throughout the process, even with a 12 hour time difference! Lorrie was on top of absolutely everything and was willing to go the extra mile to help make the perfect day for Andrew and I. She was super hands-on with my family since I wasn't physically there and easily won them over! She even stepped in to save the day on a chaotic experience with our rehearsal dinner plans (which was completely out of her scope) and it ended up being even better than planned! Melanie helped a lot on the day as well and was so energetic and involved with the whole experience. I would highly recommend Lorrie & Mel if you're looking for a great events team! When I started planning our wedding, I quickly became overwhelmed with all the options that are available for every part of a wedding. I was also about to start a new job in a different state than we planned to get married (with my husband living in a third state). I was hesitant to spend money on a wedding planner. But I thought I would at least talk with some to see what I thought anyway. Enter two wonderful women: Lorrie and Melissa. They were immediately kind, warm, welcoming, and obviously organized and knew what they were doing. They were interested in me and my husband, what we wanted, how we wanted it, and how they could help us get those things! When they told me their ultimate goal for a wedding is that the couple wouldn't know if something went wrong until AFTER the wedding, I was sold!
Throughout the 15-month engagement, we met several times when we would visit Kentucky and Melissa made time for phone calls often to stay in touch and updated. Each time, Melissa would have a list of things we needed to follow-up on, things we needed to start thinking about, and some longer-term items to just "be aware of." This helped us immensely. She worked with us on a budget, never suggesting we spend more! She was able to provide suggested vendors, but never once pushed us to hire anyone specifically. The honesty and openness we received was such a sigh of relief for us because we feared that from other wedding planners with whom we met.
There were MANY things that I would not have ever thought about (or would have considered after it was too late). She attended vendor meetings with us (or for us when we couldn't make it). She made a detailed schedule of the wedding weekend that had five-minute increments at some points (incredible to my Type A personality, but not scary to others because you know Lorrie and Melissa have it covered for you!). She did all the things we weren't looking forward to for our wedding planning so we could focus on the fun stuff. She answered the hundreds of questions I had throughout the planning. She was available at all hours by text, phone, and email! It was phenomenal!
Finally, the wedding weekend arrived. And, just when I thought they couldn't get any better, Lorrie and Melissa helped us through the rehearsal step-by-step, stepping in when there were questions, discrepancies, or issues. The next morning (wedding day), Lorrie and Melissa were at the venue decorating, arranging, double-checking things, and setting up for our fabulous day! Melissa came to see us while we were getting ready to check in on me and how I was doing. She is the sweetest!
Our wedding went off without a hitch (that I noticed). Lorrie and Melissa handled EVERYTHING. These women are sincerely true experts in their fields. They are wonderful at their job, but they are also seriously wonderful people. We feel so fortunate to have met Lorrie and Melissa and to have been able to work with them and get to know them as people.
Working with Lorrie and Melissa was THE best decision we made in the wedding planning process! Meet with them and see for yourself! If nothing else, you will meet two of the sweetest ladies in Kentucky! -

I have to admit I was a little reluctant to hire a planner for my daughter’s wedding, but it took one appointment with them to go all in! I quickly realized that I was in way over my head especially since my daughter, Jess, was living in Virginia and her fiance, Alex, was in Alabama. I live about an hour away from Louisville so it really made sense. Not only that, but they already knew and had connections with the great vendors in Louisville. Melissa would set up appointments with several vendors on the weekends that Jess and Alex would be home and go with them.
Melissa and Lorrie did all the “grunt” work and we were able to enjoy choosing flowers, venues, food, and all the other fun details. These ladies are ultra-organized with a wedding day schedule that was down to 5 minute intervals at some points. Because they are such experienced professionals, they thought of things that wouldn’t have crossed my mind.
Melissa and Lorrie have worked in all kinds of venues and with all kinds of family situations. They are calming and supportive. They understood what Jess wanted for her wedding and they made that dream come true. They also understood that I wanted Jess’s wedding day to be flawless and beautiful. Melissa and Lorrie made it magnificent and effortless for us. We were able to enjoy and to be very present every minute that day.
I just can’t say enough positive things about these excellent ladies! They don’t just organize your wedding; they become friends, counselors, referees, and managers. Having them was the best decision in the entire wedding planning process!

Hiring Lorrie was hands down the best decision we made when it come to planning our wedding. We were planning the wedding from Texas and we leaned heavily on Lorrie throughout the entire process. From helping us pick vendors, to putting together welcome boxes for our guests and even helping me pick a gift for my groom and having her mom make it for me, Lorrie can do it all! And she does it all with a smile on her face and with a warmth and genuineness that can only be matched by her sweet partner, Melissa! Lorrie coordinated an entire weekend for us so we could visit multiple vendors and not have to make several trips from Texas while planning. She made the entire process low stress, enjoyable and fun! Lorrie and Melissa genuinely want to give you exactly what you are looking for on your special day and they will go out of there way to make it happen for you! I can’t say enough nice things about these ladies. I truly miss talking to Lorrie every day and I am so grateful to have found her and Melissa! And let me just tell you about Melissa!!
