My husband and I had SO MUCH FUN designing our wedding bands at Stonybrook! It felt so special to create bands for one another. Our bands are so much more meaningful to us because of it. We worked with Kylie, who was thoughtful, attentive, and very knowledgeable. From day one, she helped us choose the right materials for our proposed design. On the day of, she was so helpful and knowledgeable, and a lot of fun to work with. Highly recommend Stonybrook to make your wedding even more special.KyneticArts's reply:

Kylie is amazing! She was prompt, energetic, and clearly very knowledgeable. We had a great time making our wedding rings with her, and we're thrilled with how they turned out. We had no experience with making jewelry but with her guidance, we were able to do almost everything with our own hands, which made the final product even more special to us. We would definitely recommend making wedding bands with her, or anything else for that matter. -

We had a great time at our wedding band workshop at Stonybrook Metal Arts and Sculpture School. Kylie was super knowledgable and friendly. We had no previous experience working with metal, but she taught us everything we needed to know, and answered all our questions along the way. We loved that we got to make practice rings first to get us comfortable working with metal. The rings came out perfectly and we couldn't be more pleased with the whole experience. Highly recommend to any and all couples!! -

We had a really rad time making our wedding rings at Stonybrook. We went in with no jewelry making experience at all, and we were still able to make rings that we love and that are unique to us and look professional. Kylie was a great teacher, and super patient with us. She taught us so much and even helped us with a special design idea for one of the rings. She also taught us a lot about the different kinds of metals in the lead-up to the workshop, so that we could pick the kind that would be best for us. We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who wanted to craft their own wedding rings! -

Stonybrook Metal Arts and Sculpture School is Amazing!
My wife and I took the Make Your Own Wedding Ring Experience class on 5/25 with Kylie and it was amazing! She was a wonderful instructor and gave us plenty of advice to help us craft our dream rings. Even though I came into the class with some metalworks experience, she helped guide me through all the specifics of measuring, constructing, and polishing my ring. We couldn't be happier with our results and we strongly recommend people or couples to take classes here! -

From the very beginning, Kylie our instructor was so communicative and thorough in the teaching and booking process. We were worried about how our lack of fine motor skills would transfer to our rings, but she did a perfect job of giving us space to feel like work was our own without letting us work so independently that the final product felt like a high school art project. Our rings are perfect to us, hammer texture for him and chevron shape to accommodate my engagement ring for me. We ended up paying about the same price that we would have buying commercially available rings and have a beautiful memory to keep with us of crafting our wedding bands. Cannot say enough positive things about this experience and we are so thankful to have found it! -

We had the absolute pleasure of crafting our wedding bands at Stonybrook Metal Arts, and the experience amazing! From the very beginning, Kylie - our instructor - went above and beyond to make this experience truly special for us.
With only a few weeks' notice, Kylie was incredibly accommodating; she adjusted the typical 6-hour crafting session into two 3-hour visits to better fit our schedule. During the first visit, we took nearly 4 hours just making our practice rings, and throughout the entire process, Kylie was endlessly patient, kind, and encouraging. Her calm, supportive energy made us feel comfortable experimenting and learning at our own pace. By the second visit, we felt so much more confident thanks to Kylie’s clear and thoughtful instruction.
We ended up crafting two rings each, and left with not just beautiful wedding bands, but unforgettable memories. The fact that we got to create something so personal and meaningful made this experience truly priceless. And the cherry on top is that the cost was surprisingly affordable for something so unique and intimate. If you’re considering making your own rings or just want a one-of-a-kind jewelry-making experience, we couldn’t recommend Stonybrook Metal Arts and Kylie more!KyneticArts's reply:

Unforgettable Experience
I cannot stress enough how incredible this class was! Kylie was an outstanding instructor, and her sense of humor made the entire day feel like spending time with an old friend. What could have been just another task to tick off the wedding planning checklist turned into a truly special experience. Crafting our rings together as a couple allowed us to learn, make mistakes, and have fun, while also relieving some of the stress that comes with wedding planning!
Before the class, I honestly wasn't sure how the finished rings would come out, and I wondered how something I made could possibly resemble a ring you’d find in a store. The results were WAY beyond my expectations! Kylie’s expert guidance helped us create beautiful, polished gold bands that we were both incredibly proud of. We didn’t want to take them off all night! For anyone concerned about the rings looking too "handmade" or imperfect, rest assured—the final product will exceed your expectations.
The cost of this experience is more than worthwhile. For roughly the same price as purchasing rings from a store, you get all the materials, a full day of expert instruction, and the priceless experience of making memories together. I can’t recommend this experience highly enough—it's a truly unique and memorable way to mark such an important occasion, and we will remember this experience for the rest of our lives. My fiancee and I really wanted to make each other's wedding bands, and Kylie made it possible! Her workshop was super fun, and without any prior experience, we walked away with two unique amazing rings! Kylie helped us navigate the choice of material and clearly outlined all our options for ring types and finishing styles. During the workshop, she was super kind and knowledgeable; I feel I learned so much in just 6 hours! She was also there to rescue us in the ring-making process if anything happened or if we simply needed support or technical guidance. -

From the first phone call to final email wrap-up, Kylie was helpful, thorough, and friendly. She coached us through every step, from selecting metals and brainstorming ring style to the chemistry and tools involved in making the rings. We asked a lot of questions, and she was very generous with her time and expertise.
For the workshop itself, we first made rings in sterling silver, which was really fun and stress-free practice. For the gold rings, the stiffer metal meant we needed more help to bend and shape the rings at different points. Kylie was great about stepping in only when we asked for help, and we were very eager to have her assistance. Her power tools can also clean up or speed up certain steps, so there is a bit of a safety net for any mistakes! Without her expertise, we never would have gotten the wonderful rings we ended up. My fiance has told many people how grateful he was that Kylie was there to be sure we couldn't mess anything up.
Overall, an excellent experience! My fiance and I enjoyed learning together, doing something creative with our hands, creating long-lasting symbols of our marriage, and learning from an artistic professional. It's such a unique and well-managed experience, it's well worth coming from out of town for! It’s even great without all the photos they take of you and the champagne you walk away with, but those are delightful bonuses.
FYI: you will have to make your ring out of silver and various golds for making your rings, and you cannot set stones or do much detailing besides sanding edges or embossing messages inside. That said, this encompassed *most* of the rings we liked in shops, and Kylie helped us do a lot of creative personalizations: my ring had a hammer finish for extra sparkle, while we did a matte finish for my fiance. She also helped us cut a notch out of my wedding band so it nests well under the diamond of my engagement ring. If you have an ideas, it's worth asking what's feasible! -

Working with Kylie was an amazing experience. She was so helpful at the consultation making sure we knew exactly what we were getting, as people who don’t make jewelry and just wanted a cool memory we could wear for the most important moment of our lives, she guided us through it! From picking the metal and estimating costs based on our size, this was truly a custom experience from start to finish. Then we had a practice session before we got started on our true rings which made the process so much fun rather than stressful. Kylie also helped us when we had questions but also let us work on our own to feel as if we were making rings not just being “told” what to do.
Pro tip- bring your cute ring box or you’ll want to wear them out instead of waiting until your wedding day! -

What a unique and special experience!

This class was easily the best recommendation that we had during the wedding process. It was so much more rewarding to create our wedding bands ourselves than to buy them from a jeweler. The class was incredibly enjoyable and they have you create a practice ring in silver before creating your final wedding band. This was genuinely SUCH a cool experience. Kylie is an amazing teacher and was so wildly helpful during the entire process. She is deeply knowledgeable. From our first call together to pick our gold, to the actual day-of, she always knew exactly what needed to be done and when. This also includes helping us fix any (inevitable) mistakes we made along the way! Neither I nor my fiance had done any sort of jewelry making before, and we walked away from this workshop with wedding bands we will cherish forever. Anyone can go buy their wedding rings, but it is such a cool additional layer to know that we spent the time, effort, and love to MAKE rings for each other. If you are even remotely considering this class, DO IT. I cannot recommend this class, or Kylie, enough! -

My fiancé and I recently had the most incredible experience creating our wedding rings at Stonybrook Metal Arts and Sculpture School, and it was all thanks to Kylie's fantastic guidance!
From the very beginning, Kylie's expertise shone through. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the entire process, from selecting the perfect metals to the intricacies of hammering and shaping the bands. What truly impressed us was her teaching style. Kylie patiently explained each step visually, making sure we understood the techniques before diving in. She never took over the process, but was always there to offer a helping hand or share her wisdom when we needed it. This hands-off approach, with guidance available at every turn, made the experience incredibly empowering and rewarding.

My fiance and I are SO happy that we went with Stonybrook to make our wedding bands. We had gold from a family ring that we were able to melt down and use in our new bands. which most places won't do! The price was so reasonable, especially compared to going to a jeweler, AND we got to make such an incredible memory together.
