Kurstin is a phenomenal and talented photographer and artist! He takes high quality photographs, that have a brightness to them that bring joy to anyone who views them. He’s very flexible to the style of the couple, and applies his artistic talent to ensure the photographs he takes impress. Further he has such a fun personality, which is so important as he spends more of the day with the bride than possibly anyone else. His ability to make people smile makes him a pleasure to work with, and ensures he captures sincere happiness in his photos. -

Simply put, Kurstin is the best. He stuck by us for FOUR wedding dates as we navigated postponements due to COVID. He and his team perfectly planned and captured our day and created photo memories for us that will last a lifetime. -

Working with Kurstin was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! From the moment we met him until our wedding day, he made the entire process so much fun. After only meeting us once, he knew how to make us feel comfortable, relaxed, and special during our engagement photos and on our big day. Despite a surprising snow storm, Kurstin and his assistant Joe, went above and beyond to get us spectacular photos in the snow. Not only is Kurstin an incredibly skilled photographer, but he is such a pleasure to work with and made me feel so special on the wedding day. I would love to work with him again in the future! -

Kurstin did an absolutely amazing job on our big day! He captured every single picture we wanted and came up with many more creative, iconic DC wedding shots that we didn't think of ourselves. While we love Kurstin's personality and creative ideas, one of my favorite parts about his work is his editing style. All of his pictures are edited so naturally and elegantly but never lacking the WOW factor. I would happily refer ANYONE to Kurstin & his team. -

Kurstin is an amazing professional and expert at his craft. He has a unique instinct for photography that creates photos that become instant classics. My wife, Kurstin and I spent multiple hours preparing for the pre-wedding and wedding day shots. He truly gets to know all couples that he works with, so he can infuse their personality in the photos. We were able to rest assured and just be in the moment during the wedding because we knew that Kurstin would capture the moment beautifully.
On top of his artistic ability, Kurstin is a great communicator and master of logistics. He is always aware of what photos need to be taken at what times, without adding stress to the bride and groom. He somehow balances all these responsibilities, while cracking jokes and being humorous. I can not recommend his services enough. -

Kurstin is AMAZING!!!!!
We were fortunate enough to have Kurstin as our photographer for our engagement photos and actual wedding in June 2019. Kurstin was an absolute joy to work with from the very beginning. While we were going through the (very nerve-wracking) process of vetting different candidates to photograph our big day, Kurstin immediately stood out as the obvious choice. We loved his portfolio, but were especially impressed by his professionalism and proactiveness. We appreciated how he took the time to meet with us over the course of several weeks to get to know us as a couple - even before we started officially working with him! Not only did he guide us through the entire process and field our MANY questions, he was truly open to understanding our likes and dislikes. I (the bride) have never liked being in front of the camera, but Kurstin really took my concerns to heart and went out out of his way to ensure I felt at ease (and beautiful!) throughout the entire experience.
Our wedding took place in VA, but my husband and I are based in NYC. Kurstin was happy to accommodate our busy schedules and travel out to the city for our engagement photo shoot. He spent the whole day trekking around Brooklyn and lower Manhattan with us, and ended up capturing some amazing pictures - many of which we picked as keepers for framing)!
Our wedding day itself was nothing short of spectacular, and we were so happy to have Kurstin there to capture all the special moments. He brought a level of seasoned, calm professionalism to the table and played a critical role in keeping our chaotic wedding party organized and on schedule. We relied on his guidance and direction throughout the day, and also appreciated his flexibility and willingness to take our opinions and ideas into consideration. He went out of his way to check in with us and make sure we were comfortable over the course of each shoot. I had initially gone into the day dreading photos, but Kurstin's efforts and dedication helped transform the experience into a fun and enjoyable one for all of us!
And of course, Kurstin's work speaks for itself. He is incredibly talented and possesses the uncanny ability to tailor his work to his client's taste vs. only specializing in one "style". He delivered our pictures in a timely manner and was incredibly patient with addressing our feedback. We absolutely LOVE all our wedding photos - from the staged family portraits, to the candids - and are so grateful to have so many options by which to remember our big day for years to come. We cannot recommend Kurstin enough! -

My now husband and I loved working with Kurstin for our wedding, engagement pictures, and our rehearsal dinner. He was a consummate professional who was cordial accepting and fun to hang around with while taking our wedding photos. Most importantly - he captured our wedding in the way we wanted that highlighted the love and joy of the weekend. I would highly recommend him to any and all. -

Hiring Kurstin was one of the best decisions my husband and I made for our wedding. He went out of his way to get to know us as a couple and we felt so comfortable working with him. My husband and I planned a wedding out of state and Kurstin was extremely flexible with his schedule. We FaceTimed, emailed, and had multiple phone calls. Kurstin was always responsive and knowledgable in our venue and always guided us in the right direction. Kurstin is an expert at what he does and you will not be disappointed in his work. Our wedding photos are timeless and they are everything and more than we could have asked for. -

We absolutely loved working with Kurstin Roe--it was one of the best decisions we made in the wedding planning process. I can't recommend him enough!! His photos are stunning, we've received endless compliments about them and even were featured in a wedding magazine! From the start Kurstin was great to work with, he really took the time to really get to know us as a couple, which was reflected in the photos he took. In addition to being an incredibly talented photographer he also was a wonderful, calm presence to have by our side. His photos captured the vibrancy and love of the day and far exceeded our expectations. If you invest in one thing I would recommend photography because the day goes by so quickly, I look back on them and feel like I'm experiencing each moment again. Book Kurstin, you won't regret it. -

Photography was a priority for our wedding day, and we wanted to work with a professional while staying in our budget. I got a bit overwhelmed (what bride doesn’t haha) and asked my mom to do some research. She presented 5 options, but suggested I reach out to Kurstin first because she was so impressed with his work and found his rates to be fair. My partner and I met with Kurstin at a coffee shop, immediately loved him, and hired him on the spot. He is hilarious, makes you feel comfortable to ask any questions, and will gladly provide recommendations for other vendors.
Kurstin worked with our busy schedules to fit in the perfect engagement shoot that truly reflected our personality as a couple. Neither of us had posed for photos like this before and we had no idea what to do, but Kurstin helped us to feel comfortable and have a fun time! He also worked with us to make a wedding day schedule and photography itinerary. We loved that he had worked at our venue before; he knew all the best spots for beautiful photos. However, I’m sure he would perform fantastically in any setting; his ability to effortlessly capture light and frames scenes in the perfect way is impressive. We were running a bit behind schedule on our wedding day, but Kurstin made sure we stayed calm and captured all the shots we wanted. Many of our guests commented that our wedding photos are the best they have ever seen. We ordered large prints from Kurstin to hang in our home and they are stunning; I have never seen such high quality images).
We could not be happier with our wedding photos and decision to work with Kurstin, and we will absolutely ask him to capture future life events (he also does portraits and family shoots!). -

Dana Sent on 11/30/2017Hiring Kurstin was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding-- he is extremely talented, and really worked to understand who we are as a couple. He went above and beyond to give us the "epic" engagement shoot that fit our personalities, which included cliff-side photos in a national park. His photos are vibrant and memorable, and almost come alive. Friends gasped upon seeing some of our photos, and I am incredibly glad that he was the one to document the start of our marriage!

Dave Sent on 11/06/2017Kurstin is awesome! He did a fantastic job shooting our wedding out in Bluemont, VA. We couldn't be happier with the final product, and the fact that he was able to pull it all off without needing a second shooter is amazing. We love the final look of our photos. They're a great mix of fun, intimate, and high-style - which is exactly what we asked for. We also really enjoyed the engagement session that he included in the package. We weren't planning on having someone shoot an engagement session, but he did a great job and it gave us the chance to learn his style before the big day. We ended up using several of the engagement photos for our wedding sign-in book. They were perfect. We would highly recommend Kurstin to anyone in the DC area. He does a great job, and his pricing was more reasonable than most other photographers we spoke to.

He spent the time to get to know us ahead of the wedding so he could capture the wedding how we want to see it. The pictures turned out great!! Only problem is narrowing them down for an album since there are so many good ones!
We were referred to Kurstin by a friend and fully recommend him. -

Kurstin was the photographer for our April 2024 wedding. We still have not received our paid-for wedding album. While Kurstin's photos do look nice, he is completely non-responsive, ignoring emails and phone calls for months at a time.
Once he has your money, everything he does is slow. We did not receive a preview of our wedding pictures, and so had to wait until about 3 months after our wedding to see how they turned out. We shared a selection of photos for the album he included in our package in August 2024, and he has still not delivered that album.
Just incredibly frustrating. For the prices that Kurstin charges you can find photographers who will actually deliver on what you pay them for.
