Beautiful photos & amazing experience!

Patty was AMAZING!! From the start, she was so easy to work with and a great communicator. For people who had never done professional photos before, she made us feel very comfortable and natural. The moments and photos of family and friends she captured were so real and beautiful, it made it truly feel like us!! Patty arrived early the day of the wedding and fit right in with our crew! She was a professional at navigating the potential rain on our wedding day and timing to get all of the photos. Highly recommend!

Personable and professional wedding photography!

Patty was truly amazing from start to finish. She went above and beyond throughout the entire wedding process-- She even offered to come to our joint bachelorette party to take pictures. Everyone at the wedding thought that she was phenomenal and very personable. The pictures are gorgeous and really reflective of who my wife and I are as a couple.

A trusted professional with a wonderful eye!

I can't say enough about how pleased I am to have had Patty as our wedding photographer. Right from the start initiating contact with Patty as a potential vendor, I was immediately comfortable with her approach to wedding photography. I was so impressed with the materials that she sent us after entering into contract with her- they helped to ensure that I was prepared on the wedding day and also helped to set expectations for the flow of the day. Patty is very comfortable to be around and blended right in. She was calm but also firm to make sure that we checked all the boxes of what we wanted to capture from the day. Her presence actually helped keep the drama and stress at bay which is something I didn't even know I would need. We just got our gallery of photos this week and I'm reliving all the special moments over and over again, as well as getting to see some special moments that I didn't get to firsthand experience which is exciting. I would absolutely recommend Kivalo Photography to new brides. You won't be regret it this decision. Thank you Patty!

Wondeful Experience

Patty was an excellent photographer that we would highly recommend. She is polite, professional, no-nonsense, and will make sure that you get every photo you want at your big day. We weren't able to meet before the day due to our being located so far away, but she touched base frequently to check in on progress and planning, get to know each other before we spent the actual day together, and ask for our insight on what was most important to us day of so she could be sure to get those images. She was also helpful in making recommendations regarding sequencing of photo events to ensure the best amount of photo time and time enjoying our event. Seperately, Patty suggested some great other vendors based on her experience at other weddings, which was so helpful. We highly recommend Patty / Kivalo!

Best. Photographer. Ever.

When selecting a photographer I wanted to make sure they would be a good personality to have around while I was stressed/managing a lot of personalities. Patty was the PERFECT selection. She arrived during breakfast just to scope out all the best spots to take pictures. Then she hung around to exercise her magical moment capturing ninja skills. She got to know us via social media and various surveys she sent before the wedding in order to make sure she knew what would be important to us on our big day. She captured everything I could have wanted and more. Everyone from the bridal party, to my family, to guests on the dance floor LOVED her style and the way she coordinated people. We have had a few hang sessions just flipping through the pictures she took reliving the entire weekend. She was fabulous from start to finish.

Best person to spend your whole wedding day with!

I booked Kivalo Photography because Patty had done my brother's wedding a few years prior, and I had loved her work. (In fact I said, "someday when I get married, I want a photographer to make me look this good on my wedding day!"). It was the best choice ever - Patty is fun and thoughtful and creative, and just a pleasure to work with.
She gave us this amazing magazine about what to expect from wedding photography (I have never done this before, so "here's what I do for rain, here's what I worry about and not you, here's what you can think about and plan for" was SO helpful). Then, the day of, she came early and got all the details shots and scouted out photo locations on the property that I never even knew were there. Throughout the staged shots and ceremony, Patty rolled with our challenges (we are goofy and we talk a lot; we made a last-minute decision to move our October ceremony outside, literally as I was putting my dress on). You don't realize how much time you spend with your photographer on your wedding day, but they are there ALL DAY, and Patty was smart and professional but also just so fun to be around, it was like having another friend supporting us who just happened to also be making us look good in pictures. She also got ALL the shots - my husband kissing my hand as we waited to be announced at the reception, my flowergirl kissing the ring bearer's cheek after he tripped during bridal party shots, my ailing father kissing me on the forehead on the dancefloor. Our photos are amazing, it looks like something out of a magazine, I almost can't believe it was really our wedding, and Patty is 100% to credit for that :-) (Also, she had our shots back to us in just under two weeks, which I hear is exceptional turnaround time!) Can't recommend her enough!

Highly Recommend!

Patty photographed our October 2018 wedding and I highly recommend her. When my fiance and I decided we wanted to get married in the fall in New England, we knew we had to act quickly to book a photographer -- it was the second vendor we booked after only the venue. In looking for a photographer, I was drawn to Patty's romantic and timeless style. Her photos are more than just images, they tell the story of the emotions felt in the moment that they were captured. We booked Patty about ten months in advance and throughout the time leading up to our wedding she sent periodic messages to check in, which were helpful to make sure we were on track and prepared for the big day. On the day of, we didn't have a coordinator and I can't say how helpful she was in corralling everyone. We had a decent sized bridal party (ten all together) and Patty was so quick and efficient with all the portraits. Again, we had a limited window for family portraits following our ceremony in our Church and she made it work. When I mentioned a trail in the middle of the woods that might be a nice spot for photos, Patty was all in. She was extremely professional and had our gallery prepared within a week of of shooting our wedding. We're so grateful for the beautiful images that she captured, we will cherish them forever. If you want stunning, artistic, photos that capture every feeling that you have on your wedding day, then Patricia is definitely the photographer that you you need to hire! From planning, to payment, to managing everyone on the actual wedding day, she is extremely organized and has a process in place for everything. Patricia, and her team, are top notch and you will absolutely love how efficient they are on your wedding day. I wanted to get through formal portraits fairly quickly as I valued the candid shots more and I couldn't be happier with the photos we ended up with, both formal and candid AND we still had time to attend part of our cocktail hour without doing a First Look. I was told that wasn't possible, but I knew that she would make it happen! I still can't stop going through our wedding photos, and I love all of them! The beauty and emotion captured in them, takes me right back to our wedding day. Working with Patricia has been such a joy, I have no doubt that we will continue using her for family photos!

If I had a dollar for every person that has come up to me after the wedding to tell me how great our photographer was, we could have an hour longer of open bar.

Seriously, from the first phone call to the delivery of photos, Patricia was nothing short of incredible. She gave great customer service up front, had wonderful and engaging surveys along the way that made us feel like she had a real idea of who we were as a couple and what our vision was. On the day itself she was organized, professional, and kicked butt. My new husband had a rowdy group of groomsmen and she handled them with ease. I can't believe how reasonable her price was given all the time, effort, and skill she gave us. You'd be crazy to look anywhere else.

As MOB I could not have been more pleased with Patty/Kivalo Photography. She was professional, organized, and went above and beyond to make our family's day stress free from beginning to end. Corralling a wedding part of 21 is no easy feat but Patty did it with a swiftness and humor. The pics were delivered quickly and are beautiful. I highly recommend this photographer.

Patti and her entire team were absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond to ensure that we had every picture that I had requested prior to our wedding day. The best wedding photographer around! Patty was so incredible throughout the entire planning process and during the day of our wedding, I cannot say enough good things about her! She was very responsive to messages (which I appreciated being busy and trying to plan a wedding!). We first met at our engagement photo session, and immediately I felt comfortable with her and loved her style. She is very laid back but also is able to give direction so that shooting time is use efficiently and catching you at your best. The day of our wedding, she was around while we were still getting hair and make-up finished taking photos, but also looking our for ME making sure my hair looked perfect and the way I wanted it, making sure my make-up was done just right. We did first look photos and most of our group/wedding party shots before the ceremony (which she encouraged and I am SO glad that we did). Patty made sure to give directions clearly so people knew where to stand and what to do, which I really appreciated as I have been part of weddings with more passive photographers before and it just doesn't work as well to get the BEST shots. You could tell that she wanted it to look amazing, not just to take the photos to get them done. We had a second photographer (Kyle) who also was incredible and very friendly and helpful. Our photos came out AMAZING, and I love looking at them and sharing them with friends and family. I appreciate that Patty was more than just a passive by-stander taking pictures, she was an active part of making sure our day stayed on track and organized, and I am so grateful for all of the help that she gave to us! Book her for your wedding you will not be disappointed!

I cannot say enough good things about working with Patricia. My husband tends not to LOVE taking pictures, and yet she was able to keep him smiling and having a good time while capturing pictures from our engagement shoot to our wedding day that we both absolutely love. We had large wedding parties (9 bridesmaids, 15 groomsmen, 2 ring bearers, a flower girl, and 2 dogs)! Yet,she was able to keep everyone organized and focused. We now have so many pictures that will help us keep memories of our wedding day forever. She is completely worth every penny. Thank you, Patricia! :-)

I had AJ as my videographer for my wedding and he was awesome! I really loved that he respected my photographer so much and never interfered with what she had planned. They worked together really well! AJ made things easy and stress-free, and even on the dance floor I could see he was capturing all the important moments on video. I can't wait to see the video!!!!

I cannot sing Patricia's praises enough. When it comes to her incredible talent, I think the photos speak for themselves. But what the photos don't capture is that aside from being talented, she is also very organized and responsive, which made working with her throughout the entirety of the planning process an absolute joy. Furthermore, she made it a point to try and get to know my husband and I (and shared details about her own life/interests) prior to our wedding, which allowed us to feel so comfortable shooting with her when our wedding day arrived. She even sent boxes full of treats over the holidays leading up to the wedding! When it came to the wedding day itself, both she and Sarah (our second photographer) continued to exceed our expectations. Aside from taking each and every one of the many different photos we'd asked for, they captured moments that we didn't even know existed. Everything from the angles to the lighting in these photos was just so perfect. And Patricia made sure to keep everything moving that day so we could stick to the timeline; my entire bridal party, including ourselves, even got to enjoy cocktail hour (something we were sure couldn't happen, given how big our bridal party was and how many photos we took)! Patricia is hands down an amazing photographer. We did our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos with her. She was beyond flexible with our two pups who joined us both times for photos. We met with her prior to the engagement photos to discuss wedding details, and communicated via email about the finer details leading up to the wedding (we lived out of state from where we were getting married). She provides info as to what to have the morning of for detail photos (wedding stationary, jewelry, etc) She is so pleasant to work with and truly takes breath taking photos. I would recommend her to anyone!

Kivalo is the way to go for your wedding photography! From the very first time we met with Patti and Sarah we knew that we needed to have them part of our wedding day! During the meeting they were able to give us tips about planning a wedding as well as recommendation for other vendors. We could get in touch with them whenever and they would answer our questions which was very important to us since we were planning a wedding in Maine from afar. It also made us feel very comfortable because they really seemed to want to get to know my fiancé and I. Even before the wedding day we already knew they were worth the investment.
Sarah was our First Photographer and Bret was our second. Sarah took both our engagement and wedding pictures and knocked it out of the park!! Sarah knew exactly where she wanted to take photos in the Old Port and has an eye for placement of shots. Who would’ve known a fire escape would make for the most perfect Save the date photo?! Sarah made us feel very comfortable posing and directing us, making something that feels awkward look natural.
The morning of the wedding Sarah took tons of photos and blended right in with everyone you couldn’t even tell she was there when taking candid’s. She prepared us with a list of items she would need for pictures to save time morning of and alleviate stress. She is hilarious! The bridal party loved her. She rode along with us on the trolley after the ceremony and made sure we stuck to our timeline. We weren’t planning on being able to take part in our cocktail hour but Sarah made it happen! I have no clue how she did it since we had a large obnoxious bridal party. I give her credit! She had a running list of shots in her head and made sure

If I could give Patricia (and the Kivalo team) a rating higher than a 5, I would!

They are amazing. I had the pleasure of working with Patti, Sarah & AJ for our wedding. All of the photos that Patti & Sarah took were everything I could've possibly asked for. They captured our day perfectly. I really feel like Patti tried getting to know my husband and I before the wedding (without having met in person), so when she arrived I already felt like we were friends. While preparing for the wedding, she always responded to me via email immediately, she was professional, she was always so nice and so friendly, and she offered advice when I asked for it. On the day of the wedding, she knocked it out of the park. She kept me and everyone else on the timeline, she took every family photo that I asked for (there were a lot of them), she even held my lip gloss, emergency kit and my vows for me. I mean seriously, I don't think many photographers would go this far above and beyond and she just did it so naturally. She was just like one of the girls.

I have and will continue to recommend Kivalo to everyone I know!

Patricia and Sarah were awesome! We had Patricia take our engagement pictures as well, and she was very friendly and accommodating. Patricia met us at Sunday River and took us to all the best spots. She is very friendly and it felt like we had been old college friends. Later, during the wedding, both Patricia and Sarah were able to take amazing pictures and it looked like it was very sunny even-though the weather was overcast that day. They are true professionals with impressive equipment who have a real passion for their trade. If you need someone who is easy going yet professional, I would highly suggest hiring them.

I couldn't be any happier with Patricia and Sarah. Patricia was so helpful all night, keeping track of the time, helping me put my veil in, fixing my dress, and directing us when we needed help with certain shots. I didn't have to worry about anything because I knew she was so on top of it. She managed to get pictures of everything, yet I didn't seem to see her the entire night. All my guests kept coming up to me all night and saying "You're photographer is on top of it!" I couldn't recommend Kivalo Photography any more!

Patricia shot our engagement and wedding photos and we could not have been more pleased with them. She is truly an amazing photographer and has the best personality. We felt so comfortable with her as well as Sarah, the second shooter at our wedding. Both of them we able to capture our wedding so perfectly. Everyone who has seen our photos always asks who our photographer was because they are truly incredible. We cannot recommend her enough and will definitely find a way to use Kivalo Photography again in the future.

Patty was awesome! She was very professional, easy to work with, and did an amazing job. Patricia and Sarah are 100% solid. The day of of our wedding, I am pretty sure we made things as difficult for them as possible, not meaning too. Both were very easy to get along with, professional, bossy when needed, and invisilbe the rest of the time. My lovely bride and I could not recommend them more highly to anyone seeking a photographer. Sarah came over to shoot my side of things day of (groom). First off, she is hilarious. No one in the room knew how to pin the the boutonniers. Sarah did, and she did. Awesome! Not only was she funny, but she took care of us and got along with everyone.

After the ceremony, there was an immediate threat of rain. I have never seen anyone manage a group of people so well. It was fun, concise, and we love the results. During the reception, it was no problem to ask to have a photo with family or friends. They always seemed to be around when you wanted a photo, but otherwise invisible. I think they might be photo ninjas......

We bought a package that included an engagement shoot. Things before the wedding were really busy, and we could not get the time to do it. Patricia met us a month after the wedding in Gilead, Maine where I had proposed. We had a great time looking for spots to shoot, and we learned something that day. We were lucky the Patriots had a Thursday night game that week, because we would not have seen Patricia had the Pats played Sunday. We can respect that. The day of, they were both wonderful, and Patricia really left us fully satisfied coming out to shoot that Sunday, which for her was at least 3 hours of driving and 2 hours with us. Kivalo photography comes with the highest recommendation from us. We have seen photos from photographers half the price of Kivalo, to some lackluster results. We have seen photos from photographers twice the price, that were also lackluster. Kivalo's price right in the middle, makes them superb. Excellent value, for excellent service.

We have seen photos from photographers twice the price, that were also lackluster. Kivalo's price right in the middle, makes them superb. Excellent value, for excellent service. Do yourselves a favor and have them shoot your wedding. They are hardworking and really fun to be around!

Patricia was amazing!! Since I am not from Maine I counted on our reception venue, the Nonantum, to help me...Kivalo photography was on that list. After spending a couple minutes looking at the pictures I knew I needed this photographer! And after meeting Patricia, my first thought was confirmed. Patricia is fun, energetic, and loves what she does, which is apparent after talking to her. Patricia met with me when I traveled to Maine before the wedding. She came to the house where our ceremony was going to take place and gave suggestions as to where we should take pictures and say our vows.
She spent the whole wedding day with us. Her first task was shooting the details, a list of items she had asked for previously. After getting our pictures back we found out she set up everything on the rocks behind the house and got some great shots! She took some pictures of us getting ready and captured shots that are near and dear to my heart...a couple tears shared by family and laughter and dancing throughout the morning. We decided to do a first look and Patricia set it up perfectly. Getting our bridal party pictures done before the ceremony was important to us because we had somewhere to be right after to make our entrance into cocktail hour. She kept us on time throughout the afternoon. She even climbed the rocks with us to get some great shots with the ocean as our backdrop!
One of the best things about Patricia was she learned all the names of the main "players" our wedding. She knew all of our bridal party, immediate family, and very close friends. This became astonishing when we were doing family photos. No one was trying to figure out if she was talking to them...everyone knew. It was amazing to watch!
After getting our pictures back, all 1451 of them, my husband and I congratulated ourselves on having the best photographer! Our pictures are the perfect reminder to our perfect day!

Why are there not 6s?!? Cannot recommend Kivalo highly enough. From the engagement photo session through the last dance, Patricia was a wonderful addition to our special time. She was an amazing resource throughout the day and an incredible calming presence. Our pictures are wonderful – all 1987 of them. Out of all the photos there are less than a dozen we don’t care for - that’s not just lucky odds. My four year old niece was a big part of our day and Patricia capture her charisma and antics in such a genuine manner that her personality jumps out of the photos.
Patricia was very easy to work with and coordinate. She helped guide us through the day and create a schedule so we had plenty of time for photos and did not feel rushed – do the first look- best decision ever. We had plenty of time to get all the shots we wanted and still have time to relax before the ceremony and then enjoy time with our guests.
Patricia provided a specific list of the details she was looking for so upon arrival there was no scurrying around for items, they were all together and she went to town shooting details shots on location, we have no “the dress on the hanger”, “the shoe with the ring”, “the ring in a flower” photos – nothing cliché here, everything was artistically unique, personal and about our day, everything was natural and the feeling of genuineness comes through.

100% recommend. Patricia was wonderful -- flexing when needed, and yet finding that perfect shot. We had a cloudy, foggy day on the beach for our wedding, and yet she found a way to bring it to life, almost making it seem mystical and fun (instead of gray and drizzly). She had a great sense of humor, and was fun to work with. Most of all, her photos speak for themselves. She has a knack, and is worth every dollar you spend with her. Can't recommend enough!

Patricia and her assistant shooter, Sarah, did an outstanding job at our wedding on 8/23/13. She captured such beautiful moments and we are so grateful we were able to work with such a talented photographer. She gave the entire bridal party great direction and helped speed up the formal family photos (something that was important to me). Working with Patricia felt like working with a friend, she was pleasant, fun and professional. Her quality of work is worth more than she charges. I could not be more happy to recommend Patty! From the first e-mail, she took the time to get to know me and my now husband. She responded quickly and answered all of my crazy bride questions. She basically ran the wedding day, making sure I was where I needed to be and when. When it came to trying to get the 20+ person bridal party, she was assertive but not rude. She got everyone together and we were done bridal party shots in no time! She even went as far as standing knee deep in the ocean to get the right shot. Our pictures turned out beautiful! The best thing about Patty is that she truly loves her job and it shows in her dedication.

I have to give my fiancé credit for this one--he picked out Kivalo Photography and hit an absolute home run! Patricia was great throughout the entire process. Though I am a Maine native, we now live out of state which was a challenge throughout much of our wedding planning, but not with Patricia! When we drove out to Maine for Thanksgiving, she met us early in the morning for an initial consultation. Immediately we knew she would be the perfect photographer! She was clearly talented but also easygoing, enthusiastic about her work, and not at all pushy. After we booked Patricia, she was extremely helpful over the months before the wedding by sending us various tips and ideas and allowing us to conduct all of our pre-wedding conversations via phone and e-mail at times that were convenient to us.

On wedding day, Patricia was equally awesome! She showed up at the salon before we even got there and stayed with us until the end of the reception. She took fantastic photos of absolutely everything--and even some that we're still trying to figure out how she managed to get! She was up for anything, including a stop at my parents house so my MOH and I could dance with brooms... and a drive to a beautiful rock ledge by our venue where she took some of our absolute favorite photos from the day. On top of the wonderful photography, Patricia was just a joy to be around on my big day and a huge help! She is a great people person and interacted wonderfully with us, our guests, and our others vendors. When we had no clue what was going on, Patricia was there to help, while simultaneously snapping phenomenal photos.

And, if all that isn't enough, she is fast too! We were on her wedding blog and had all of our photos uploaded after only four days!!!

I am ashamed that this review has taken as long as it has. Patty was our photographer for our 10-27-12 wedding at the Union Bluff Meeting House. When looking for a photographer I was looking for someone who was reasonably priced and for a photographer that would not take your standard 'blah' wedding pictures (we were not looking for 1,000 'formal' pictures of the day) we wanted someone to capture spirit of the day. From our first conversation we knew that she was our girl! She was easy to talk to, listened to what we wanted and did a wonderful job with our engagement shoot and wedding day pictures. The pictures on her website are a perfect reflection of the pictures that you will receive of your special day. I would definetely recommend Patty to anyone. I look forward to the day when we can use her for another special event. Thank you, Patty for everything. Also, one note worth mentioning...our package included having another photographer for some of our wedding day. The photograher Patty used was Sarah and she took wonderful pictures of the groomsmen getting ready.

We found Kivalo photography on the internet, among many other professional photographers. What caught both my daughter's and my eye not was only the quality but also the spontaneity of her photographs. We SO did not want our wedding photos to be posed and formal. The results could not have been better. Not only that but Patricia and her assistants were totally professional throughout the experience. They had to travel by car and ferry to the island on the same day as the wedding and quickly assessed the layout of the wedding location and went to work unobtrusively and in good humor.

I would recommend Patricia to anyone looking for a creative, professional photographer who thinks "outside the box" with superior results.

We highly recommend Kivalo Photography! We received the most beautiful photos of our wedding in record time and we couldn't believe how amazing they were. Patricia understood when we communicated to her the style of photos we wanted and was thoughtful enough to include everything that was important to us. Her intuition as a photographer shows in the many moments she captured that could not have been planned. Just as important, Patricia was so kind and helpful and made us feel instantly comfortable despite our jangling nerves! She went far beyond the role of photographer, helping to zip my dress and clip flowers in my hair when my hands were too shaky, as well as handle all the details we hadn't thought of ahead of time (including signing our marriage license as a witness). We found Patricia by way of facebook after a friend posted a link to an article in a Maine Wedding Magazine that featured her work. Throughout the wedding planning process Patricia was very helpful especially when we needed to find a different wedding venue because our first one canceled on us. Patricia sent us a wedding basket of goodies and never lost touch with us in the year long wait from when we booked her to when we got married. During our wedding day Patricia was a true anchor, and with me the whole time, catching important moments and offering reassurance throughout the day. I especially appreciate Patricia's willingness to try out some of my ideas (based on her previous work) for group shots.

Patricia was also very flexible in working with us, we live far away and didn't think we'd be able to fit an engagement session in, so she substituted it with coming to our rehearsal to shoot that, which created the opportunity for some great shots and for us to get used to working with her.

Overall we feel very lucky to have had Patricia shoot our wedding and would recommend her to anyone getting married in Maine or nearby.

Patricia was an absolute pleasure to work with! My daughter had an unusual wedding as it was at a camp and there were several activities going on during the day of the wedding. Patricia got around to most of them and photographed many of the events that I never even got a chance to see. It is really nice to go back and take in some of the things I missed through her photos. She is so personable and easy going while maintaining her professionalism. As my daughter was pricing photographers we soon came to realize that the cost of having a photographer on site for the entire day and evening was going to be beyond her budget. Patricia was willing to work with my daughter to work out a plan where she could get photos of the entire day and it would not take up the entire wedding budget. Patricia Takacs was the first of many photographers we met with, and she made a lasting impression. From the very second of meeting her, she was so excited about learning about me, my husband, how we met, how he proposed, and the type of wedding we wanted. Patty and her team with Kivalo Photography are nothing short of extraordinary. I was referred to Patty by some great friends who had their wedding photographed by her. Patricia was so pleasant to work with even with the obstacle of distance. My husband is military and we were not stationed in Maine. She also offered us a military discount which really meant a lot to us. I had been corresponding with her through email and the occasional phone call and she was so nice! She was excellent about checking in with us. I felt as though she cared just as much about our special day as we did.

Flexibility, Responsiveness, and Professionalism:
Patricia was flexible with her time and was able to set up an interview on short notice. She was very professional and spent a good hour or so with me discussing what kind of shots I wanted and the itinerary of the wedding day. She really gets to know her clients and she has a great eye for detail! She has a great attitude and you can tell she loves what she does.

Patricia came out to my parents' house on the morning of the wedding to take pictures of the girls getting ready and everyone fell in love with her. It was easy for us to be ourselves around her. Looking at the pictures she took over the course of the day (getting ready, the ceremony, and the reception), I felt as though she captured everything and made it even more beautiful. I had no disappointments with her work and she was fantastically punctual. The day after the wedding I was able to see our pictures. I haven't stopped getting compliments on the photos from my family, friends, and co-workers. She exceeded my expectations in all aspects. She not only never missed a moment, but she jumped in to help if someone needed a ride or needed help getting ready and she even helped me with a last minute ceremony detail. From the very start, Patricia was pleasant, professional and terrific about checking in with what we needed before the wedding. She has a very casual style which we really liked, and she delivered pictures which really captured our wedding day--the groom's mother told us that looking through them was just like re-living the day. I wish I could rate this photographer higher then 5 because she is well worth it! I was very happy with everything and felt that she went above and beyond and exceeded any expectation. She listened to my every need and want, and is a great value for what she does. She will not give up until she knows you are happy and satisfied. No regrets and I will use her again in the future and recommend her to anyone!

When Jon and I first got engaged the whole photography thing made us weary, his brother and sister-in-law had been married the summer before and as great as there wedding was, their photographer really did a horrible job of capturing everything and they had paid a small fortune for him!!!! The last thing that we wanted was to spend a lot of money and then not even have the moments that were important to us captured. NO FEAR HERE!!!!!! Patricia was above and beyond everything that we could have asked for! She managed to be there amongst our guests in every important moment. She asked what I wanted to portraits and so forth and then organized them all, gather all the people and took care of all the chasing down so that all I had to do was stand there and smile but more importantly, she managed to capture so many candids and little moments that I felt like I was part of everyone's experience at my wedding. In fact, it is commonly known that guests tend to want only a select few, if any, of the photos after a wedding. My guests were asking to see them before the wedding was even over, and Patricia gave a "sneak peak" to everyone while she edited which had my guests BEGGING for prints and to see them all! Everyone commented how she seemed to be another guest taking pictures and yet so professional I didn't have to think twice about whether or not they were getting done. SOOOO EXCITING! I can't tell you how wonderful having her as my photographer was.

Patricia is absolutely amazing! I could have not asked for a better wedding photographer! She is so personable and really made everyone feel so comfortable. She takes amazing candid shots. My husband and I are very pleased with our pictures and highly recommend Patricia!

Patty was very easy to work with and spent a lot of time with us on our day. We received over 800 photos and they were wonderful. She dressed professionally, which we appreciated. We would definitely recommend her services to other couples.

Patricia was the best photographer I worked with. She spent the entire day of the wedding taking pictures of my bridesmaids getting ready. She came to the salon while we got our hair done, then followed us to get our make-up done. She also went to the place the groomsmen where and photographed them. She was willing to come to all of the events surrounding our wedding. She attended the bridal shower, the rehearsal dinner and the wedding day. We did an engagement shoot with her as well. All of the pictures are fantastic. I received a DVD of every picture she took. Patricia also created an album for us which I love. The way she arranged the pictures was amazing. She is very comfortable to work with. At the reception she mingled with the guests and took a lot of candid pictures. She really captures all of the moments of a wedding. I would highly recommend Patricia to anyone that is getting married or is just looking to have some portraits done. She truly takes into consideration the type of pictures you are looking for!

Patty is amazing. She is kind, talented, and captured our wedding beautifully. Her presence was like having another good friend around during our celebrations. She helped us enjoy the day and take it all in. The day flew by quicker than anything I could have ever imagined. So grateful to have our day so well documented so we can live it over and over again through our photos.

Patricia was an excellent photographer and a person to work with. She is extremely friendly/approachable. She made sure to print out the samples of the pictures that i wanted taken on my wedding and made sure those were exactly done in a perfect way. She is excellent to work with!

This is a year late, but I wanted to make sure I reviewed Kivalo because I LOVE my pictures. My husband and I had 3 appts to meet with photographers and pick the right one and after we met with Patty and Sarah we cancelled the other 2 appts and made our decision. Their personalities won us over and their photos spoke for themselves. Patty had her 2 associates shoot the wedding and they were both personable, fun, never in the way (I actually never saw them leave and wanted to at least say thank you and goodbye), and we came out with a ton of amazing pics. We wanted just a few formal pics and mostly candids and the girls found a way to capture everything I would have wanted without a word from us. Would definitely recommend!

Working with Patricia of Kivalo Photography was an absolute joy. She made every aspect to our wedding photos easy and fun.

Patricia took the time to go over everything with us. From our first meeting to the last dance she was always around to answer questions. One thing that was awesome for us was that she was so quick to respond via Email which was great!

Lastly her work was awesome. We got so many complements on our photos. I can not thank her enough.

I would highly recommend Kivalo Photography for any wedding or event.

We went with Kivalo Photography because the price was right at the time--which was much less than the listed rate on Kivalo's website now. Patricia was very pleasant and easy to work with as we prepared for the wedding. She sent the contract right away; she was organized and responsive. Due to multiple weddings on the same weekend, we were aware that Patricia wouldn't be our photographer for our wedding. Her associates, primarily Sarah, were very fun and easy to work with on the day of the event. However, we were not particularly impressed with the pictures from Kivalo nor were our friends and family. They were average at best. We were very happy that our friends and family had taken many pictures as these turned out to be our more cherished pictures of our wedding day. The pictures taken by Kivalo tended to have poor composition, unflattering angles, and many wonderful pictures that could have been taken were not. I've seen the pictures on Patricia's website, and it seems like Kivalo generally does a better job of capturing a wedding and getting thoughtful and unique photos of the event. My advice, if you are planning to use an associate photographer at Kivalo, would be to meet them in person before the event at your location, so they can scope out some good angles and shots to take on the actual day.
