Highly recommend!

I had never heard of this venue before I started using this app and It’s hard to put into words how incredible this place is. The entire staff was so helpful in planning this wedding and answered all of my emails within a few hours. They let me visit the site as many times as I needed and really helped to take the stress from planning. The entire site is beautiful and the pricing is more than reasonable. All of my guests couldn’t stop commenting on how beautiful everything was and how great all of the food was, from the cocktail hour to the dinner itself. I’m recommending this place to everyone!

Retirement Party

"King Mills was the perfect choice for my husband's recent retirement celebration. From my very first contact with their team until the event day itself, they were exceptionally professional, genuinely cordial, and incredibly attentive to all my needs. Every phone call, whether for changes or questions, was met with remarkable warmth.

Pastor Tom King, the owner, even generously offered a larger room. He was personally present the night of the celebration, warmly greeting and assisting my guests.

The grounds and rooms are absolutely stunning, and the food? It was both plentiful and delicious!

While King Mills is often recognized as a wedding venue, I wholeheartedly recommend it for any special event you're planning."

A beautiful venue!

Kings Mills is a lovely and unique venue. The waterfall backdrop and beautiful ballrooms set them apart from any other venue. A huge thank you to all of the staff at Kings Mills. They are very responsive and very kind. It is clear they care and want to make your special day the best it can be.

The Kings Mills was very accommodating and helpful from beginning to end in making our wedding the best day ever!! Everyone was very patient and walked us through the whole process. Gorgeous venue, helpful staff, great experience

My husband and I had our wedding at Kings Mills on 9/4/2022 and we couldn't be happier. Everyone we met was incredibly friendly, helpful, and flexible. The prices were highly reasonable for everything included in their wedding packages. Even now we are still receiving compliments on how beautiful our venue was!

Fantastic experience!

Jeff, pastor Tom, Jessica, and Julie were fantastic and super easy to work with! Everything went very smoothly and we couldn’t have been any happier with how the day turned out. They made everything super simple for us and took the stress out of planning. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an affordable venue with a beautiful view!

Amazing Venue

If you are looking for a rustic wedding venue setup in the woods, look no further than Kings Mills. This venue may not looking awesome from the road, but just take a trip inside and enjoy breathe taking views. The staff is wonderful and made our wedding event successful. I would definitely recommend them to friends for future wedding venues.

The most beautiful venue!!

We knew when we saw the pictures of Kings Mills that we wanted to get married there! Then when we saw in person how much more beautiful the venue was that there was no other choice!! The staff was so easy to work with! They helped every part of the way! So friendly and helpful! All my guests are still telling me how amazing it was!! From the beautiful grounds to the food! My wedding was absolutely a dream come true!! Thank you guys so much!! My wedding was everything I wished and hoped it would be!!

Excellent Choice!

We had a flawless wedding thanks to the staff at KM. From a 160 guest wedding, 19 person bridal party and numerous children- they didn't hesitate to make sure we had everything we needed. The outdoor ceremony was everything I wanted, the happy hour was a huge hit and guests raved about the appetizers. Set up and clean up was a breeze and the reception hall was exactly how i visioned it being decorated.
Our only complaint was the time it took to serve dinner, in the moment it seemed very delayed before our guests got their sit down dinner and sadly we had out of town guests and elderly guests who left without being served. Despite this hiccup- only we really noticed and I will still recommend them for years to come for any wedding on banquet ceremony needs.

From start to finish they were amazing! They decorated everything to exactly how I imagined it. Mr. King conducted a fabulous ceremony! Julie and Jessica were so patient with my million questions and had everything running so smoothly on the wedding day. I couldn’t have imagined having my wedding any other way!

Highly recommend

We found King's Mills online when looking for an outdoor wedding venue with a water feature. We couldn't be happier with our decision. We got married outdoors by the waterfall and walking through the arched doors was amazing. Many of our guests said it was the prettiest venue they had been to.

We were concerned about the food since there was no opportunity to sample it, but it was terrific and the appetizers were amazing. The guests are still raving about the food months after the wedding.

The team at King's Mills was a pleasure to work with and they were very accommodating to meet our needs.

Would highly recommend this venue.

Perfect venue

We were looking for a venue that was unique and had an interesting history and found that place in Kings Mills. Everyone there was great to work with. They were quick to answer all the questions we had. They were very accommodating with some family members with food allergies and let us bring in our own cookies to add to dessert. We got lucky with the weather so we were able to be outside near the waterfall for our ceremony. But, plan B (the chapel) would have been just as beautiful. Everyone raved about the food and the beauty of the venue.

Kings Mills was absolutely amazing! We just got married on September 28th and loved the whole experience! From day one the always answered or returned my calls as soon as they could. They were very accommodating because we lived almost 2 hours away. Julie was exceptional with grabbing whatever we needed. She put out all our decorations and helped us pack everything up as well. The food was great with many options and the quest loved the venue. Everything was so clean and the day went so smooth. I could'nt be happier with the venue!!

I had my wedding there on 09/07/2018 and could not have been happier. From day one, they were beyond amazing. They were quick to respond to e-mails and phone calls, no matter how many questions I had and took the time to explain everything that we needed to know, since we knew absolutely nothing. I loved that the venue is family owned and operated because we really got to know the King family and staff and it was wonderful to have them with us on our wedding day. All of the guests could not stop raving over how gorgeous the venue was, both inside and out. They were stuffed after cocktail hour, but still managed to eat dinner and say how great the food was. Kings Mills gives you a lot of options for your event which really means the day special and unique. I could probably go on forever about how amazing it was, but then no one would read the entire thing. Thank you so much for giving us an amazing wedding day!

I absolutely love Kings Mills! They helped us with everything! Jessica was amazing and helped us make decisions and went through the planning process step by step. They accommodated us so much and we even had to push back our wedding date a year because my husband was very ill at the time. Jeff made pricing extremely reasonable and so many family members couldn't believe how many d'oeuvres and desserts they had and for can Italian family that's saying alot! Jess even helped bussel my dress a few times. I've had a few events there before and i definetly will again. Mr. King was there as well and always so nice and smiling! I couldn't speak more highly of Kings Mills.

We were married here on September 16, 2017. I can honestly say that I don’t have a single complaint except that it wasn’t long enough. Everything was absolutely perfect and I’ve never been happier. The food was delicious. This was one of our biggest concerns leading up to the day because they don’t do tastings, but it was all great. Everyone raved about the hors d'oeuvres and I’ve heard many good reviews about the meal and coffee as well. My husband and I had filet mignon and salmon, and our guests had filet and crab cakes, and there were no complaints. It’s obvious that they know what they’re doing, and they do it well. My sister had her reception here 18 years prior, and we made a great decision by having our wedding here too. I hope we can attend another wedding here so that we can take the time to soak it all in.

We were married on September 2nd, 2017 at Kings Mills. Words cannot express what a perfect venue this was to begin our lives together as Husband and Wife. Everyone at Kings Mills went above and beyond to make this day perfect! We worked with Julie for months planning the wedding and she was absolutely incredible. She made everything so easy and really helped take the stress away from planning our big day. Julie was always available for any little question we had. Julie and Mr. King were at our ceremony and reception throughout the entire night, making sure everything was perfect. When rain storms picked up right before the ceremony they quickly moved everything inside the chapel and it was breathtakingly beautiful. My husband had a memorial table set up for all of his Brothers he lost while serving in Iraq and Mr. King even brought in his family member's dress blues to add which was so special to us and everyone there. Everyone who attended our wedding couldn't say enough kind words about how delicious the food was, how professional and kind the staff was, and how beautiful the entire ceremony and reception was. We are both so very thankful to everyone at Kings Mills for giving us the wedding of our dreams!

Kings Mills is the absolute PERFECT place for your wedding, or any event I can imagine. We were just married on 12.3 and everything from the first meeting until the final visit to the property to pick up decorations was perfect. Mr. King and his entire staff and the definition of caring, courteous, and happy people. They made planning the wedding so less stressful and the actual day was more than I could ever imagined! I felt like absolute royalty! The care that goes into their work shows. They made me feel like my wedding was as important to them as it was to me. I couldn't have asked for anything more. And the food is A-MAZ-ING!! All of my guest were just raving about the food. I would 100% refer Kings Mills to any bride looking for a unique place with an absolute stellar staff!

What a beautiful venue. I cannot say it enough, and neither could my guests. Jessica was our main contact person throughout the planning process. She was super helpful and professional. Mr. King was there for the rehearsal and final checklist/walkthrough. He suggested we have our ceremony in their newly rebuilt outdoor spring house. We were actually the first couple to have the ceremony in it. Everything about the setting exceeded all expectations. Kings Mills took care of the food, cake, and helped with decor. They allowed flexibility when it came to moving rooms, changing set up times (when there wasn't another event going on). There were a few minor miscommunications but the day of the event everything went seamlessly. My guests and those who have seen the photos raved about this venue. If I could do it all over again I would 1 million percent choose Kings Mills again.

Kings Mills brought our vision to life. They were easy-going, helpful, and did not push extra services at all. My husband and I were married on 10/17/15. We had our reception at Kings Mills and we cannot say enough good things about our entire experience with the Kings Mills family. They made the entire experience easy and were there for us every step of the way through the planning process. Our cocktail hour and reception went off without a hitch and everything was truly perfect. We have received numerous rave reviews from friends and family about how awesome and beautiful the event space was as well as how delicious the food tasted. And no one went home hungry! You truly get the most for your money when you choose Kings Mills. If we could do it all over again we would choose them again in a heartbeat and we are hoping we get invited to a wedding here in the near future so we can experience everything all over again as guests!

I got married at the Kings Mills in June and just loved the whole experience. My husband and I were married out by the waterfall and it turned out to be a beautiful ceremony and a beautiful day. Reverend King helped with the whole coordination of the ceremony so that everything would go smoothly. Appetizers were served to us outside as we were getting pictures. The hot appetizers were fantastic. When we went in to the cocktail room, we were greeted by Jessica, who was our hostess. Jessica and Jeff were running the room and they made the whole night run smoothly. For dinner, we had the filet mignon and Flounder with crab. The food was amazing, everything was hot and fresh. Rich Cash was our DJ, he was one that they recommended and we had such a great time at the reception that we even extended an extra half hour. He did a great job of keeping the crowd dancing and for those who were looking for other entertainment, we opted to go with the photo booth. There were hats, glasses and other props, the attendant was friendly and even helped us change props between pictures. The wedding and reception were everything that I dreamed they would be and I would like to thank the King Family and Jessica for making my wedding so memorable.

My best friend and I got married on August 15, 2014 at Kings Mills. I can honestly say that there is not a bad thing I can think to write about how they handled our wedding from the moment we first took a tour to the actual wedding day. There is no doubt that this place knows how to do weddings, and knows how to do them right. The day went as smooth as it could have possibly gone thanks to the amazing staff. The way they transitioned from one "event" to the other was amazing. Kings Mills was totally affordable compared to other venues we looked at and in my opinion the most beautiful. You would never expect this place to light up the way it does but there is a magical castle kind of feel to it once it is all prepped and ready. The exposed wood beams and stonewalls made for a classic, timeless feel. The room we went with was the paradise room because of the amount of guest we had (200), and I am so glad we did. For dinner we chose the prime rib and crab cake entree, it was absolutely delicious! Our guest kept saying how good the appetizers and entrees were. Something that was very important to me was that our guest and us had plenty of time to dance without much interruption. Once everyone is up dancing and having a good time the last thing anyone wants is for us to stop them and then make them watch us cut the cake or toss the bouquet. They helped us to just that, we finished all the wedding reception traditions shortly after dinner was served and eaten and then we were all free to dance the night away until the sparkler send off at the end. Kings mills took care of things that I would never have thought about, there was not a single second that I was worried about the staff members or whether something was taken care of or not, because it was. I would absolutely recommend this venue to someone who is looking to have the wedding of their dreams!

Blessed Bride!!!!!
As a 12-12-12 Bride Kings Mills went out and beyond my husband and I expectations. Not only was the staff amazing during my wedding planning process but the night of my wedding my wedding guest were in awe of the amazing service and food!!! I am so blessed that I was recommended to have my wedding at Kings Mills by many people and the staff was very consistent with the amazing stories that I already heard about this place. The scenery of the live waterfall was amazing ;) My husband and I have no complaints and I desire to have another event here in the near future .

The staff at Kings Mills go out of their way to make sure every wedding goes smoothly and that the couple gets what they want. The food was incredible, the staff excellent, and the overall quality just fantastic. I would highly recommend this venue.

We had our wedding reception at Kings Mills Inn (KMI). We cannot thank Mr. and Mrs. King, their sons Jeff and Tom, and Jess (an invaluable employee) enough for their unfailing support throughout the entire planning process leading up to our wedding. We had an excellent time at our wedding (as did our guests) and it is in no small way thanks to KMI’s gorgeous facility, delicious food, and fantastic staff. Everyone was wonderful the day of in making sure that things ran smoothly. Jess was a huge help providing us with support creating and ordering our invitations, helping me set up the table decorations, the room and the candy table, not to mention keeping things on track and organized during the event itself. KMI does the catering for their events and as I mentioned… the food was fantastic. We also ordered our invitations through KMI… they had such a wide selection and unbeatable prices. We would recommend KMI to anyone looking to have their wedding in a beautiful, historic building with a professional and friendly staff and fantastic food and service. We had a wonderful wedding and have everyone at Kings Mills to thank.

Not only was your staff the finest professional people we have ever worked with, but your son’s Jeff and Tom were so helpful, not only showing their professionalism, but the wonderful way they were brought up. Jeff kept asking me if everything was OK, and I could not find one thing that was wrong, and Tom made sure my daughter had everything she could want. My daughter’s reception went along without a hitch. I kept waiting for something to go wrong, but because of your staff and wonderful son’s. it was the most perfect “party” that ever was. The day after the wedding reception, I had people that attended her wedding call us to actually thank us for inviting them. All the people we spoke to just kept telling us over and over what a beautiful place you have, and the food, my god, the food was incredible. I kept hearing over and over how delicious not only the dinner was, but also all the hors d’oeurves were. And then when dinner came, they were in shock to find out that they could 2nd’s or 3rd’s if they wanted. That is so unreal in today’s world.

There are no words to describe how wonderful the service was at Kings Mills. Every single person is extremely professional and all respond to any questions in a very reasonable amount of time! Kings Mills is FANTASTIC
The ENTIRE King Family and Staff was INCREDIBLE from first meeting to check out the place thru the after my Reception was finished Including literally RUNNING outside to not miss us pulling away to hand us more things that got hidden to take with us.

When I first found this place money was very tight and they were very understanding out that and were very flexible to help me out.

When we sat down to do last minute checklists they became even more helpful with tailoring my desert options to what i wanted for what i could afford

Wedding Day:
The Cocktail hour had so so many food selections that were included in my package for no additional fee!

The staff made their rounds to everyone including the guests outdoors with ALL the different foods just like they said they would and the food was straight out of the oven hot to every guest not cold food that was sopose to be hot

Last minute guests and table changes were made with ease and i don't think any of the guests even realized that was done they were so professional in finding me and being discrete as well

Compliments to the Chef because the dinner food was even better then the Cocktail food and all came out quickly as well.

The staff made their rounds to every table at least 3-4 times during dinner to make sure there was nothing additional people needed- EXTREMELY GREAT service!

Again keeping their word they walked around and offered seconds to everyone that may have been still hungry

Deserts were excellent as well

When the time came to leave they helped us pack up and grab everything we needed and even had the staff carry it to the car for us too

All in all this was an incredible experience with an even MORE INCREDIBLE place!

Kings Mills combined the beauty, elegance, and affordability that my groom and I were looking for. They helped us plan our wedding every step of the way, and were always available to answer our questions and help guide us. Kings Mills did nothing but make sure my wedding was perfect in every way. They worked with my husband and I from day 1 making sure everything was the way we wanted. They are so precise and kind and are very professional. Everything you could ask for is available for purchase on site. You do not have to use any outside vendors (although we did). No food tasting but don't let that scare you away.. the food was AMAZING!!!!! so good. We had nothing but compliments on how great the staff at kings mills was and how beautiful everything was.
I have nothing bad to say about the family owned business!!!

Kings Mills was a fanstastically beautiful venue. The owners and coordinators were incredibly organized and couldn't have made planning a wedding on your own easier. The food was outstanding-- and it kept coming and coming. I have to laugh as I write, because I could have been filled up on the most scrumptious hor's d'oeurves themselves... but I had to eat the incredible dinner.... and then they offer you seconds!!! (included in the price)!

We wanted to have a classic wedding in the fall and this venue most definitely set the scene: Waterfall, rustic feel, candleabras...

They do have strict guidelines for photographers and dj's, but if you hire professionals, this is easy enough to deal with. It is for your protection as much as theirs.

I cannot recommend Kings Mills enough. I cannot thank them enough. Our wedding was wonderful.

Kings Mills was amazing! During planning, they were always available to answer questions, and they made my life easy with recommendations for other vendors. I had both my ceremony and reception there. They made my rehearsal go smoothly, and the ceremony turned out beautifully. During the reception, I got so many compliments on the beauty of the wedding and the excellent service. The coordinators made sure that not only were my husband and I happy but also all of my guests. The day went great (not one problem), and I couldn't be happier that we chose Kings Mills.

My fiancé and I chose Kings Mills because of all the places we looked at, this was the most unique. It was an old Mill with a waterfall and beautiful grounds. At all my friends weddings, we had to make time to go to a park or garden to take pictures between the church and the reception if we wanted outdoor pictures. Here we could just head over to the facility and take our pictures on their gorgeous grounds during the cocktail hour. We posed by the waterfall, gazebo, pavilion, and wishing well and had all our pictures done in time to enjoy most of the cocktail hour. He had our cocktail hour in the Cove, which was newly renovated at the time. I couldnt believe the changes they had made to that room from the first time I had seen it. They made the area bigger and added a stone bar and restrooms. My 180 guests fit comfortably in the space and seemed to be enjoying themselves as they mingled around eating countless butlered hors doevres. At the end of the cocktail hour, the owner Tom came over to ask if we needed more time or if we were ready to move to the dining room. I never felt pressured to follow a schedule, which I really liked.

Dinner was great, our selections were prime rib or crab cakes. My husband and I each had a different entrée and we loved both of them. I still get compliments on the food! For dessert with had the chocolate fountain and the standard dessert table. We highly recommend the chocolate fountain because it comes with everything they could think of to dip in chocolate. My family is part Italian so dessert is almost as important as dinner to my grandparents. And on the dessert table that night we found many more types of cakes and cheesecakes than we were expecting.

As for vendors, we were new to the area and had no idea who to go with. All my close friends are from out of town so I had no connections. Luckily the Kings recommended some vendors they commonly use so we decided if they are at the facility all the time, they must be good. Boy we were impressed! Each one was personable and very professional! See my individual reviews of the vendors.

Normally, Im not one to post reviews on the web but I felt like I had to for this one. I was so impressed with my wedding day that I had to let people know about Kings Mills. I already sent the King family a thank you card which I hope they have on display on one of their tables. I would consider their facility for any future events.

From the moment we first went to Kings Mills, we knew that it would be the place that we would hold our wedding reception. We were actually able to sit down with one of the owners Tom to discuss the wedding packages. They were able to help us through the whole planning process, what do you need a coordinator for when they do everything for you.
Jeff, who is another one of the owners, ran our wedding. We could not have been more pleased. He was always in the room making sure that everything ran smoothly.
As for the food well it was wonderful. I have never seen that many hors dourves at a wedding. We choose the double entree menu for our dinner and the food was fantastic. Jeff came around after dinner and offered seconds on the meal to all of the guestswho ever heard of such a thing. As for the desserts, we are all chocoholics in the family and had to add the chocolate fountain. It was a big hit.
We can not say enough about our reception and will certainly recommend Kings Mills to all of our friends and family.

Kings Mills is the most beautiful and unique place to have your ceremony and reception there + a lot of history.
Planning with the owners was wonderful and relaxingly easy.
They worked with our budget and took care of every little detail.
Michelle was so helpful picking the right invitations and she actually showed us how to put them together.
Because we had to order some special ones. ;)

Our ceremony was amazing. WELL..the Kings saved the day!!! Our priest did not show up.. (we have no idea why) ..and so we actually got married by Mr. King the owner himself.
He did a beautiful ceremony..we are really thankful and glad that we got married by him!

The food was excellent and the service was the best I have ever seen.
We actually got Hors D'ouvres served outside, while we got our pictures taken, our guests loved it.
Our wedding cake was amazing, it was exactly what we wanted and the taste was delicious.
AND HONESTLY GIRLS....WHO NEEDS HELP CUTTING THE CAKE???
I was just so thankful that there was no one to see in our pictures, accept for us both.
You don't want anyone standing right next to you while you cut your wedding cake!! It is your special day and you want to feel special. And that is exactly what you get at this place.

If you have a small budget and you look for a unique place with great service..you will be right at the Kings Mills.

Working with Kings Mill was wonderful! My husband and I were actually married in Las Vegas, and planned our reception for a month after the wedding. The planning was painlessly easy and the price was just perfect! They helped with every detail!!! The food was magnificent, along with the beauty of the room our reception was held.

I recommend this place to anyone looking to get married who is on a smaller budget.

The owners of this venue were amazing. They worked with my budget and took care of all of the details of the day because I didn't have a wedding planner. Most importantly, my husband forgot to bring our "entrance" music (the Penn State fight song)...Kings Mill saved the day, they happened to have a copy of their own for us to use!

Everything above wasnt part of one package, the ceremony, reception, and cake were together but everyhting else had a seperate price. But when youre a bride trying to find different venders this is a one stop shopping type of place. When you book with them they also give you a list of recommedations of everthing and everyone you will need for that day. You dont have to use their list but if you do there are discounts and i used their list and was very impressed. Use them!!The facility is breath taking and there's also history in the building. Go to the website and check it out but it so much prettier in person. And for all those places out there that charges for china and linen, Kings Mills is not one of those places their china and linens are included.

Kings mills is such a hidden gem. It is not only a gorgeous venue, but it has stunning grounds and is afforable. This is a small family run opperation, with that comes a personable feeling we didn't get from anywhere else. Mr. King met with us personally and even threw in one of his favorite apps. He also worked our wedding and when he noticed my husband and I hadn't made it into the photobooth he turned it back on at the end of the night to make sure we did. Working with Julie and Jessica was great, they were very responsive and personally made sure I got exactly what I wanted. The guests raved about how beautiful the venue was, how great the food tasted, and how quick and efficient the service was. If you are looking for a gorgeous, rustic venue you must tour Kings Mills!

My husband and I loved Kings Mills! They had an answer to every single question and took care of many of the "little things" in order to make our wedding run smoothly! We got married at the beautiful waterfall and then moved inside to the Water's Edge ballroom. The room was beautiful and my guests told me over and over how great the cocktail hour was with 25 different hors d'ouvres!! We choose the chicken and stuffed flounder on the regal menu and both were excellent! They were served in a timely manner so that were could enjoy time dancing at the reception.

The evening Tuesday hours were a big help since my husband and I both work until 4 pm. The only negative comment I have is that since the staff has been working weddings for so many years (over 40!!) they tend to push ideas on you. They are very nice and professional, but my husband and I felt at times they were pushing ideas on us that we knew we did not want. Luckily, we are both outgoing and were able to communicate our wants. Also, Jessica was such a big help to me on the day of the wedding! She ran circles making sure I had everything I needed so that I could spend as much time as I could with my guests! This place and the family are a hidden gem!

We had our wedding reception here at Kings Mill & it was absolutely fabulous! We received so many amazing comments about our food choices and how perfect the service was! Beautiful Venue!

We had our wedding at Kings Mills and I’m so happy we did! The venue is stunning especially in the fall. The people are great as well, so easy to work with, they responded to all of my emails and questions within minutes! We worked mostly with Jessica and Mr. King and they were awesome, they made the experience so smooth and easy for us, especially the day of. Our guests gave us so many compliments on how great the venue was and the food as well. So many delicious appetizers!! They were also really cool about letting us have our dogs (they were in the wedding) there as well. That was a huge plus for us. I highly recommend Kings Mills, beautiful venue with excellent service!!

Kings Mills completely exceeded our expectations for our wedding reception in May. We worked with Julie for months making sure that all things were in order and ready for our big day. Mr. King and Julie stayed at our reception the entire time to ensure everything went smoothly. The food was delicious, we were very pleased to hear all our guests enjoyed their meals. The Kings truly care for the couples who decide to celebrate such a important day at their facility, they worked with us and helped us bring in unique touches to make it our own. I would highly recommend Kings Mills and am truly thankful that we were able to have such caring people to work with to ensure our day went off without a hitch.

King's Mill did such an amazing job with our wedding reception! We got so many compliments when it was over. The location is beautiful with the waterfall in back; our pictures came out amazing. The staff is very professional, and our reception went so smoothly. They do have some strict rules for the vendors, but we didn't have any problems. We had some very specific dietary restraints (bride & groom were vegetarian/a few guests had very sensitive allergies), and they were more than accommodating with all of our requests. They went above and beyond what we asked for. Our only complaint was that the cake included in our package was sloppily decorated. It tasted delicious, but the piping detail that we picked did not look like it was done by a professional. If you want a more intricate cake, hire your own baker. Other than that small detail, King's Mill was amazing!!

The Kings Mill was a great venue. Being that they are an all-inclusive vendor It really made everything easy being the "one stop shop". They provide list of recommended vendors to assist with your planning as well. I will say that bringing in an outside vendor from that recommended list makes things a little more difficult in regards to the forms being signed/what they can/cant do. Overall I wouldn't recommend bringing in an outside vendor and just using their recommended list. The Kings Mill keeps everything organized and holds you accountable with their due dates. They also always reply to emails in a timely fashion. We are so grateful to have had our most special day there.

We could not have been happier with King Mills as our wedding venue. We were married June 10, 2017. We worked with Jessica from the beginning and she truly went above and beyond to make our day perfect. The food was amazing everything from apps to main course, we even had snacks and drinks brought to us while taking pictures! This was so clutch, especially after hours of smiling for the camera. We would highly recommend Kings Mills to anyone. It's such a unique setting and we could not have asked for anything more for our wedding :)

Very personable and helpful staff thru planning. Coming to event itself, children were serving my guests and did not know what they were serving. My father is anaphylactic allergic to shellfish and they near served him a scallop until a guest caught it!

Kings Mill was amazing. It is so different from nearly any other site we looked at - 300 year old stone and wood inside and a waterfall and creek outside. Everyone there is so nice, the food was amazing, and everyone had an amazing time. They provide everything you need there if you want - photographer, DJ, catering, everything down to cake toppers and unity candles if needed. However, if you want to add a personal touch - bring in your own vendors, they have a lot of restrictions - DJs must use their speakers and equipment and are only allowed to bring in a laptop and CD player, Photographers/videographers cannot use tripods, and you have to use their "open air" photo booth, you cannot use your own. Those are some examples. For us, however, the positives far and away outweighed the restrictions. Best of all, their prices were the best we could find in the most beautiful place we would find and the food was excellent - for us, you just can't beat that!

I was married on 12/31/09 and Kings Mills did a wonderful job. I will say that Kings Mills is fairly rigid, they have a set way of doing things and do not like to deviate from that process. During the planning process, that was frustrating at times. However, once my actual big day rolled around, I couldn't have been happier with Kings Mills.

I'll start with the cocktail hour. Initially my husband and I thought we would've preferred to not be present at the cocktail hour and instead make a grand entrance for the reception. Kings Mills suggested attending the cocktail hour. It worked out wonderfully, we came in, and everyone was surprised and happy to see us. We were able to take pictures, partake in the delicious (and abundant) appetizers, and greet almost all of our guests. You can imagine how beneficial this was at the reception! We didn't have to waste time going around to each table, because we had already done that part. We got so many compliments on the sheer quantity of the appetizers, and I can say that they were delicious as well!

The reception itself was absolutely beautiful. We held our reception in the Paradise Room, which is absolutely stunning with a stone decor. Some of our guests had comments such as, "Where did you find this place?" and "It looks like a castle!" Everything for the rest of the night flowed just perfectly. Kings Mills was gracious enough to wrap my food (by request only) as well as another guest who had to leave early to attend a New Years Eve service. The quality and taste of the food was delicious, particularly the Colonial Chicken (Chicken Breast with Stuffing) My only request is that I would have had them wrap up some of the items from the chocolate fountain table... so much seemed to go to waste !

We were able to get some memorable pictures by the waterfall on the property. The staff at Kings Mills, though strict, really do have a good handle on how to make your reception run flawlessly. I would recommend them!

We just had a wedding here and it was excellent. From the outdoor ceremony by the waterfall, to the never ending appetizers, to the reception in the big prom with the high ceiling and exposed beams - it was beautiful. The staff was very attentive during the proceedings. It was the perfect venue for my daughter.

Kings Mills did a great job! Our entire wedding went smoothly! Reverend King did a great job incorporating our personalities in the ceremony. They offered every guest at our wedding seconds for dinner(which was delicious)! I didn't have to worry about a single thing on the day of my wedding!

Everyone had something fantastic to say about our reception. We felt we were treated so special as they made sure that servers were around to serve us and our bridal party as we had our pictures taken. They also got served us the bride and groom drinks from the bar as we ate our meal. They made sure our guests got what they preferred including a brand of beer we hadnt even ordered! They kept everything running smoothly and were quick to serve a several hours late guest. That particular guest stated her food was still delicious and not even cold! We had an out of state couple state they want their daughter to marry there as things went so smoothly!

I was very pleased with our wedding. We had to postpone for a year and they were so nice about it. They really made us feel like they actually did care about our wedding being the perfect day! They're all nice people and they do go the extra mile. All our guests complimented on how beautiful our wedding was. Everybody loved the venue, the food was great, the deserts were to die for, and they worked with us on the color selection and even coordinated the cake to everything else. We chose the florist they had on the site and I absolutely loved Francie! I really strongly recommend her.

Beautiful Setting but Lots of Rules

This was a beautiful venue but they had a crazy amount of rules and up charges for everything. In the end we were able to work through everything and get everything we wanted. I wish that they would have had special appetizer plates for the bride and groom because while taking pictures in the lower level of the room during cocktail hour we missed all of the food. I would recommend this venue again just know that there are many rules that come up along the way after you sign your contract. (extra cost for arriving early to take pictures outside prior to ceremony, extra cost for candy bar and couldn't use my own containers had to rent them from the venue without getting to pick what they looked like, couldn't have any drinks or food in the bridal suite prior to ceremony (champagne bottles taken day of and not returned, bridal suite attached to ceremony space they locked during the ceremony so you couldn't even keep some of your things or use it for an escape if the flower girls couldn't sit during the ceremony). Did hear from the guests that the bartenders where not very helpful in picking drinks or letting the guests know the different types of wine.

The reception facility is beautiful but the indoor ceremony facility leaves a bit to be desired. My questions about whether the 'drop ceiling' would be removed before my wedding date were laughed off and some of our guests had to sit behind support poles. The staff is very helpful but special requests need to be confirmed or you cant be sure they will be completed. Kings Mills offers every service/product a bride could ask for from invitations to favors and even guest books and unity candles. Be careful not to jump on their recommended vendor without shopping around first but I only had minor complaints about their florist and photographer. The prices are very reasonable. Book early for spring and fall weddings but off season isnt bad. Dont try to negotiate - the price is the price and their rules stand.

Kings Mills is a great place to have your wedding and i have very few complaints. The food was excellent, the service was great and the grounds are just beautiful. My one main complaint is that they had told me I would have vegetarian meals available and that if anyone had special needs for food, they will address it that day. Well my 2 vegan friends were not served a meal at all, only leftover steamed vegetables from the cocktail hour.

This is a family owned buisness and they are very nice and courteous. It was the main reason I picked them. They don't just blow you off like a lot of other venues that know someone else will pay their high prices and deal with their bad attitudes.

Beware of their insurance policies. They got into a cat-fight with my photographer that is freelance and really didn't need insurance due to not using large and bulky equipment. They will not budge and at the end all these crazy fees come into play if one of your vendors doesn't have the insurance.

They wouldn't let us move our ceremony to the cocktail room whch was ridculous. They wanted us to have the ceremony in their chapel which I didn't think was all that great. But it was beautiful and elegant. Doesn't compare to having your ceremony next to the waterfall.

The grounds are breathtaking and rustic. The waterfall is to die for!!! It rained cat's and dogs on my day but the sun came out long enough to take some beautiful pictures. All of our guest were so pleased with the service and the food! The food was endless and they upgraded our sweets table for free! A must see just weigh the pros and cons

Facilities are beautiful both inside and outside. Staff is very friendly. horderves were delicious and they will work with your budget.

Negatives:

They don't accept credit cards and have no financing options
Main meal (chicken and Beef) wasn't too good
They charge you $195 fee if you hire a photographer or DJ that isn't theirs and doesn't have insurance of their own.
I did get complaints from my guests that their waiters ignored several of their requests things for like salad dressing, butter, etc.
They deceived us into thinking that if you need more time at the end of the reception it's only $60, but it's actually $395 per half hour. My wife and I were totally shocked with this part of the bill. We both agreed they never explained that and while it's "in the contract" they lied to us in the beginning and never explained this part, plus when I called to complain they didn't seem to care much.

It's a good thing the place is beautiful b/c they need to improve their customer service skills badly!!! The planning process with them was pretty smooth. They act like they know exactly what they're doing the entire time through, but the wedding day shows an entirely different story. They are very strict with the "RULES" and it can become a bit of a pain b/c everything has to be checked along the way with them even though your shelling out $20k. They have a vendor list which is very helpful b/c they give discounted pricing, but go off that list and you're in for a rollercoaster ride. They made us wait over an hour for our rehearsal at the chapel and then tried ot charge me for it. Finally realizing he was worng after arguing with me about my minister that we didn't even use! My wedding day was rainy and at the last minute we had to make arrangements to go to the Mill early b/c of the weather. Too bad they don't check their messages. I kept calling all morning to let them know we would be early but no answer and no call back so they look of shock when we showed up was too much to handle. Then they wanted to oversharge us for that b/c they had the times wrong. They had terrible customer service. They didn't put out a lighter as promised for the unity candle. The owner Mr. King kept trying to syke out my minister (sister in law) b/c we didn't pick his guy, they kept running out of food during the cocktail hour and my MOTHER had to ask them to refill it. They stand around with dumb looks on their faces all nght. And they give you Faith, a 70 year old grandma as your "assistant". She did nothing but yell at my guests and stand around like a Zombie. They threw our stuff around all night b/c there are no rooms for the bridal party and I lost my camera b/c of it (nothing for my honeymoon). They don't help you AT ALL for the cake cutting and bouquet toss. They act like you know what you're doing. And they won't all the music to go above a certain level so my DJ was never heard when he had to make announcements. All in all they are weird people They interupt your reception to give you a $2.00 bill and they are a strange group. Again luckily the venue is gorgeous and my wedding day was wonderful. I don't know if I'd recommend this place as long as the Kings own it.

Our wedding reception was beautiful, the food was great, and the night ran smoothly. Despite these facts, we do not recommend this vendor. In the end things worked out fine, but it wasn’t worth the overall headache in our dealings with them.
We feel this vendor can be arrogant and dishonorable in how they run their business. You spend a lot of money on your wedding reception and with that cost there are some realistic expectations you would hope your reception site should meet.
Kings Mills was difficult to work with. The receptionists on staff can be underwhelming and unprofessional in their communication with you. Overall their customer service skills were shameful. They made it a hard to use vendors not on their ‘recommended list’. If there’s someone you’d like to use the Kings’ have restrictive forms for the outside vendors to sign. You can find vendors that will sign them; however you may encounter people who will decline their services because they aren't comfortable with the erroneous requirements Kingsrequire.
Appointments never started on time. If we had a 6pm appointment, our existence wasn’t acknowledged until 6:30-6:35.
They try to be a one-stop-shop however the items appear to be outdated and are on display in a cluttered fashion. You can definitely find better prices elsewhere. Even their contracts, and paperwork that shows you all of the different packages could be better designed and discussed with you.
There is an upcharge for EVERYTHING. Do you want bathroom baskets for your guests? Champagne toast? Would you like the doors to be available to open a half hour early prior to your start time incase guests arrive early? Don't want to use the old, maroon-colored, very worn reception chairs that most people don’t even use these days (they admitted this). If you don’t want to use these disgusting chairs you pay $5-7.50 per chair for the nicer set they rent.
I cannot express how frustrating it was working with them during the planning process.

Ceremony was beautiful. The King's did a wonderful job of running. Our Minister, Reverend Horn, was the BEST! Reception food was very good... many raved about it. Food service was exceptional... NOW... as for CAKE... was not the cake I ordered!!! They give you the cake as their "gift".. and you have many to choose from. Imagine walking into your reception to a cake where the colors did not match your decor, the plainest cake!!! YOU ARE AT THEIR MERCY... what can you do that day??? Cake topper was not placed on cake (said it was too heavy for the cake, but if the Kings Mills would have called me to let me know and asked what I would like to do, I would have told them that the statue was removable from the flowers...then I would have had a top to my cake!) Would like to know how the "future Mrs. King, who took all our information for our reception, including the cake order, (I found the one I wanted and told her I wanted it to look exactly like the picture they had in the book!) would feel walking into her August 2008 reception, see her cake and know it was not at all what she ordered. (Don't think that would happen!!!). I am sure her future father in law would never let that happen to her. NOW... as for cutting the cake, NO ONE helped us at all!!! MY husband and I were left standing at the table with no clue what to do and we looked like idiots! So we winged it and as we were done, one of the hostess was standing there with two napkins "just in case things got messy" (all on video... might put it on YOUTUBE for all to view if need be!) She told us it was not their responsibility to lead us in cutting the cake...well, DUH... who's was it then???? I guess it was just her responsibility to hand us napkins while standing about 20 ft from the cake table. Luckily my husband and I are the kind of people who don't let the little things bug us... thank God for the internet and allowing us to put comments here. Trust me, after paying all that money, I would expect to have the cake I ordered and not some bottom of the barrell cheap cake! I would not want to have another bride walk into her reception and feel what I did when I saw that piece of crap... BUT... when paying for everything up front (which they make you do) you have to deal with what they give you that day! I would also expect that one of the persons running the reception would have been there to lead us in cutting our cake. Nothing like making a bride and groom feel like A$$es on their day! OH... forgot to mention that the cake cutting and bouquet toss were suppose to happen right after dinner... that all didn't take place until 15 minutes before the reception was over... blame the DJ???? SURE THING... he was the worst as well and he is the one and only offered by the Kings Mills. DO NOT GO WITH MAINLINE ENTERTAINMENT if you have a preference to you music! He has his own agenda and won't listen to a word you say! MAKE YOUR OWN CD OF EVERY SONG YOU WANT PLAYED AT YOUR RECEPTION!!!! I wish I did! Shouldn't take 4 times of the groom telling him to pick up the pace... not to mention the maid of honor, mother of bride, 2 bridesmaids and finally the best man before he started playing actual DANCING music. Unfortunately that was an hour before it was over! STAY AWAY FROM MAINLINE!!! PAY what you have to... as they say... ya get what ya pay for! For the most part, yes, the King's Mills ceremony site and rooms are beautiful, but as for the people and service beyond serving food... they are not the nicest... they didn't give a hoot about the whole cake incident which was obviously a big deal to my husband and myself. Have your ceremony there, but find another venue for your reception if you don't want to have anything to worry about at your reception!

Beautiful but not worth it

Kings mills is a beautiful venue but I would not recommend having your wedding here. They up charge for every little thing. Oh you want fairytale lights that are up all of the time and only need to be turned on? Yea that’s over 100$. Some of your guests show up early? You’re being charged. You need help setting up they will tell you they aren’t touching anything. They couldn’t even bring the flowers from my ceremony inside to be used at the reception. I had to get a guest to. The food was nothing to rave about. My cake was given to the wedding the night before. I had cannolis that they tried saying were for the other wedding being held there. The day of coordinator did pretty much nothing. And their customer service is terrible.

I will start off with saying that this facility is not the issue, it is the owner. The place is beautiful. Be warned though staff was super helpful the owner had many rules, many vendors will refuse to work with them as they are horrible to work with and they attempt to spin it on vendors but call around to local ones and you will soon get a picture. The owner stressed me out on my actual day when he stopped me off my bus and told me my photographer cannot use a tripod. It was undue and unnecessary to cause me that stress when easily fixed. He is a pastor who was very judgy and mean towards the end. Him and his son were ridiculous and i hope you brides stay aware. I wish the place had different ownership! I wish i would have listened to the reviews before paying deposits, my fault.

Kings Mills is an incredibily beautiful place to have your ceremony & reception. Guests always love it and have great feedback; however, working with them as a bride was frusturating and disappointing. They are used to doing the weddings their way and its extremely difficult to try to change things up or personalize them. Everytime I tried, I felt like they smoothly convinced me to do it their way. Although they claim to be a one stop shop, their "low prices" really add up once you add tax, gratuity and all the other details that are normally included in a venue's per person price are added. Overall the food was great and our wedding turned out really nice but I would not recommend this venue.

Worst experience ever

Please save your money, they will rip you off. The most important thing to me was giving the bride a great wedding. But with the pandemic we had to cancel. Kings Mills won't even take my calls. I asked for a refund and now they are ignoring me. If you are worried about your wedding due to the pandemic, do not pay them anymore money. If you do, it won't be safe. I had really hoped they would at least work with us and refund part of our money. But the person in charge was not only not helpful, but he was really rude.

Our wedding was delayed because of a snow storm. When my now husband called to say we were stuck in the snow and would be late he received a very snarky response. When we arrived after sitting in the car for 3 hours (normally a 20 minute ride) they had to talk to see if we could get extra time which I understand but after they did give us an extra hour free I was asked if I wanted an extra 30 minutes for only $100....this is after only half of our guests were able to make it and we were not getting any money back.
They left all the guests stranded to skate across the parking lot from the ceremony to the reception. When my sister said this to one of the workers her response was "we helped you get in the ceremony". They didn't help me the bride...I had the best man and two uncles almost carry me up the slippery stairs while a worker stood and watched.
All I can say is make sure you don't toss anything out of the ordinary at them and you will be fine.
I almost forgot...when asked if we can add a table when planning we were advised it cost $36 ...they owner said he could do it for $12 a table but then he isn't making money in the table! Classy!

As someone who worked at kings mills, all I can say is go elsewhere! Yes the venue itself is beautiful and the waterfall is breath taking everything else sucks! all food is frozen and simply reheated. Nothing is made there. All food in the cocktail hour is frozen from bjs as well as all the desserts. They love to tell you about the varitity of cheesecakes they put out but there seriously from the varitity box at bjs. And they don't let you taste test the food either, which should draw a red flag right there. And the wedding cake that's included in the package? Ya they keep half and freeze it to serve as a dessert at the next wedding. And your most likely eating someone elses wedding as a dessert with out knowing it. They give you a list of suggested vendors to use, and the photographers suck! All in all I can say its definatly not worth the 20g's your gonna spend. They upcharge for every little thing. Save your money and go somewhere else!
