Amazing experience
We had an amazing experience with Kindred. They were incredibly accommodating, scheduled multiple calls prior to the day and made sure I got all of the special photos I wanted. Kim was so nice and easy to work with prior to the day and we had the best time working with Ben and Jeff on our wedding day. Outside of special photos I requested, all of the photos came out absolutely beautifully. It was truly the best part of my day working with them on our wedding photos. We had so much fun and were laughing the whole time !! They were also affordable. Best decision using Kindred as our wedding photographer!

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Ben and Kim from Kindred Photography for our wedding, and I can't recommend them enough! Ben was not only professional and talented, but he also brought an artist's eye to every shot. Kim and Ben did a fabulous job with our wedding! They did pre-wedding shots that were beautiful and intimate, they took gorgeous shots of the ceremony, and they took fun shots of the reception that I will always treasure. They were very affordable and when they could have stayed longer and charged us more, they were honest with us and told us that they had a lot already. They were right, and they did us a huge favor! Definitely hire Ben and Kim and you will not regret it!

Winter Wedding
We had an amazing experience with Kim and Ben and their photographer.
Our family had a lot going on. I was finishing grad school, we had a new baby at home and Nick adapting to his new job. One thing we didn’t have to worry about was with our wedding pictures, they were available to answer questions, they were punctual and professional. We are very happy with our wedding pictures.

I found kindred photography as they were advertised on my Dj’s website. HOWEVER, I researched and researched… I stalked several photographers instagrams and portfolios before I made my final decision and only HOPED that they would be able to be there for my big day. Ben and Kim are talented and they just know what a good shot is and how to get it. I have heard horror stories and I am forever grateful that I had the complete opposite experience. If you want it done right the first time, seamlessly, with even more perks (such as the fact that there are two of them) I seriously would not look any further. Just to add to this- on my wedding day I had just had my make-up completed by a make-up artist and I was so unsure after looking in the mirror because it looked like a lot of make-up. I looked over at Kim and she reassured me that I looked good. boom all my worries were gone. I look back at my pictures and I’m so happy and grateful for her reassurance in that moment. Trust me- it’s priceless to have that support on your big day.

There aren't enough words.
I honestly do not know where to begin. There are absolutely no words that would ever be able to describe just how wonderful Kim and Ben are. I am writing a review because not only do they deserve it, but also because it was a review that helped me decide on them even before making contact with them. I in my heart hired them before I even knew what they offered or if they were available on my chosen date. After our engagement session with them I knew right away that I didn't have to worry about feeling like I was stuck posing for a magazine all day. Everything about their shooting style is being yourself and capturing candids that are so on point they look almost posed. I promise if you hire them your pictures will be perfect! I highly recommend doing an engagement session, you get to know them a little better and get comfortable in front of their camera. They work so well together a lot of our guests commented on how beautiful their vibe is. I must also say that I got way more than I bargained for when Kim helped saved the day by sowing my dress back together. During alterations the belt was not fully sown back into the waist and with a simple hotel sowing kit she fixed my dress. I'm pretty sure I told her I could hug you right now. Hire them, you won't regret it. They will photograph us for years to come.

Amazing Husband and Wife Team
Kim and Ben were incredible throughout the entire day and did not stop taking photographs until the very end.
They did an amazing job setting up and coordinating our first look photo, and then followed us around as we suggested different places to capture our day - as we moved from place to place, both Ben and Kim would experiment with different angles, poses, lighting etc. but made sure we were having fun with it.
At our dinner and reception, Kim and Ben navigated the crowds (we were a small venue with a large group and a band) and shot great candid photos as well as plenty of group shots.
As a husband and wife team, Kim and Ben have a great chemistry and we felt at ease throughout the day and night. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

These two are absolutely the best! Caring, amazing people with great sense of humor. Made us feel comfortable right away. Friendly, go with the flow people with beautiful smiles and souls! We did our engagement shoot and wedding with them.
For the engagement shoot we hiked up a mountain in the middle of summer and got stuck in a thunderstorm at the top. They stuck with us and got some stunning, candid pictures that captured US.
At the wedding they were everywhere. They made it so easy for us to be in front of a camera. After the "formal" pictures they walked around like little ninjas snapping away candid shots of all our family and us. Half the time we didn't even know they were there! We all had so much fun with them. So excited to get our pictures back! Love love love Kindred!

They helped us capture the most perfect day!
My husband and I got married on September 22, 2018. We found Kindred Photography on a wedding website and contacted them for a quote. They immediately replied and set up a time for us to meet them. They were both so easy going and relaxed. Their demeanor made us feel so much more comfortable about being photographed. They photographed our engagement photos and about a year later did our wedding photos. Our photos came out amazing and were the perfect touch to capturing our special day. I would highly recommend them to anyone. The bonus is definitely two photographers, especially a husband and wife who know how to capture the love you and your significant other share.

Kim and Ben (Kindred Photography) are absolutely AMAZING! From the very first meeting to our wedding day we were put at ease with their professionalism and expertise. As my husband and I got ready in two very different locations we were thrilled that Kim was able to come to my parents while Ben went to the hotel where my husband got ready. The candid photos of us getting ready and the laughter with our bridal party could not have been better. It was such a relief to have them traveling with us, as Kim and Ben made sure my husband and I were still able to get our first look in despite us both running late due to traffic as they were in constant contact with each other. It was such a perfect moment that we were able to share together before we said "I do" and could not have been possible without them! During the ceremony we barely saw them yet the moments and photos they captured were outstanding!! We had many guests even compliment on how wonderful they were! After the ceremony while we took family and bridal party photos they were so quick and efficient that we were able to get so many more photos just my husband and I while still being able to enjoy every moment of the reception! They were especially fantastic with dealing with the heat for not only the bridal party but especially for our grandparents and making sure to get them out of the elements as quickly as they could! When the timing was right outside they made sure to grab us for sunset photos as well as a late night photo on the dock overlooking the lake we were married on! The photos are absolutely breathtaking! It will be hard to pick which ones to hang up! My husband and I could not recommend Kim and Ben more! They are the absolute best!!

My husband and I were really nervous about being in front of the camera but Ben and Kim made us feel comfortable right away and made our engagement session and wedding pictures really enjoyable. They are really relaxed which in turn made us feel relaxed and I think our pictures came out better because of that! They worked with us to come up with the a package that fit our needs and our budget. On the wedding day they were amazing! They were patient with our crazy groomsmen and hit all of the must have pictures we wanted. We just got our photos back and they are perfect. They captured the feelings of emotion, excitement, love, and fun of the day. I can't speak highly enough of Kindred.

I cannot say enough good things about Kim and Ben. They were so friendly and welcoming, professional, and talented. Our photos are GORGEOUS. From the onset I loved their style, it's a great blend of traditional and more creative and it's clear they love what they do. And they are so nice! You feel instantly comfortable with them as if you've known them forever after five minutes. It's true what they say: The day goes by in a blink, and I am certain our memories will last forever through the photos we have thanks to Kim and Ben. What can be said about Kim and Ben that hasn't already been articulated regarding the quality of their work and the kindness of their spirits? I suppose the best thing to do would be to speak from the heart about not only the outcome of our wedding photos, but about the way we were touched by observing their grace and unwavering patience on the most significant day of our new life together.
Ben and Kim flew all the way out from Connecticut to shoot our wedding in Chicago and we could not have imagined anyone else in the world being with us to document and celebrate our nuptuals. Ben was the first person to show up at my house (where I was getting ready and waiting for my groomsmen to arrive) and talked me through my head space as to calm my nerves...I was noticeably shaky! Ben's advice and warm words of encouragement took me from about an "OH, I CAN'T EVEN BREATH RIGHT NOW!" on the "THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING!" scale to right in the sweet spot of "You and your bride deserve this day, each other and all of the love that you're going to receive today." I could not have imagined the day without his guidance, direction and friendship. It is an honor to know him and a joy to have seen him on that day. Several of my friends came up to me to talk about how much fun he was having dancing and smiling and partaking in all of the fun! I owe you a great debt, Ben. Thank you for everything you are.
Kim had the pleasure of spending the day with my bride (now wife) and the photos that Kim captured brought tears to my eyes. I know my wife better than I know anyone in this life and I could clearly see that Kim knew exactly where to be and precisely what to say to make sure that Lauren was calm, collected and absolutely radiant. I honestly felt as if Kim was one of my wife's sisters on that day. The love they captured and the love that they gave is something we will cherish always.

Words don't even begin to describe how happy we are with the photos that Kim & Ben took on our wedding day. They captured so much happiness and pure emotion and we will be able to relive all of the best moments for the rest of our lives. We met with a few different photographers before our wedding and Kim and Ben had the artistic vision that we were looking for (my husband is an artist so he is picky) and the chemistry between the two of them not only helped make the day run smoothly but also provided for tons of pictures from different angles, moments and perspectives that we believe other photographer teams would miss. From the beginning, they were on point with answering my emails and asking for my input - they asked for shots I wanted for the day of to be sure they didn't miss anything. We also took engagement pictures as part of our package- we thought we were going to get rained out and they were flexible with this as well. They met us halfway and made us feel so comfortable. Kim and Ben were absolutely wonderful to work with! The day of the wedding they came to the hotel and started taking photos as soon as they came into the room where I was getting ready, and they didn't stop taking pictures for the next 7+ hours! Initially Ben went with my husband and Kim stayed with me for the pre-ceremony pictures and having the two photographers definitely made the pictures before the ceremony much easier. They were extremely professional and got great pictures without being in your face. During the actual ceremony they got so many great shots with me barely noticing them moving around us. I have been to other weddings where the photographers get right in your face or in the way of your guests and this was not the case at all! Many of my guests even commented on how great of a job they did! They were also extremely efficient when it came to getting all of the family photos done which made for more time for pictures of my husband and I.
Also, with having a winter wedding there were of course concerns about the weather and Kim assured me that they would make it to the wedding no matter what, which was very comforting leading up the the big day. They also had some great ideas that I would have never thought of when it came to making sure that my dress stayed clean for outside pictures!
They both seem to really love what they do and it shows! All of the pictures came out phenomenal, there were so many fantastic shots that now I am left with the difficult decision of choosing what ones I want to have printed for my house! I cannot stop looking at all of the pictures! Also once your pictures are finished (which only took them a couple of weeks to finish!) you get an awesome app for your phone so you always have access to all of your pictures!
I would highly recommend Kindred Photography for your wedding or other photography needs!

We loved working with Ben and Kimberly! So easy to work with, pictures came out beautiful! They were very responsive and answered all our questions. The day of our wedding was super smooth, it was about 102 degrees and they were able to keep everyone organized and get all the family pictures done quickly so family members were able to go inside and not sit out in the hot sun!

My husband and I were on a tight budget, and when we sat down with Ben and Kim they worked with us to get the coverage we wanted for our big day while staying within our budget. They captured every beautiful moment from multiple angles - they moved so quickly you would have thought we had five photographers instead of two. They were also incredibly discreet, we both commented later that we didn't notice them during the ceremony or on the dance floor, but they still took countless amazing pictures. My husband and I had our wedding in April at The Waterview and we wanted 2 photographers that would be able to capture the look and feel of the venue and the wedding we were having. We had interviewed several photographers, looked at their work, but once we met with Kim and Ben the choice was made.
Kim and Ben did our engagement photos along with the wedding photos. The engagement photos were amazing and the wedding photos were even better! Within weeks of the engagement shoot and then same as for our wedding day we received an email and text from them letting us know that our photos were edited and ready to view!
I'm not sure what else I can say about them other than WOW! You can't get anyone better than this husband and wife dual. They are true professionals, have a true passion for what they do, are extremely talented, and the sweetest, down to earth photographer couple you're ever meet and work with. I had the greatest experience having Kim and Ben as my photographers! They were very professional but have such great personalities that we felt like we had friends there instead of a vender! They stayed extra to make sure they got important shots like the cutting of the cake and father daughter dance! We were so happy with the way the shots came out we called them up less than a year later to take newborn photos of our daughter who was born in February! can't wait to call them for our next bundle of joy in the future!

They very quickly edited our photos and they were more beautiful then we ever imagined...Even after our wedding they responded promptly to our questions about printing photos/getting flash drives. They are true artists and we highly recommend them!

Would use Kindred Photography time and time again! Highly recommend! It was so nice that they offer a hourly rate! Our wedding photos were absolutely beautiful! Will definitely use them again in the future (baby pictures, family pictures etc.) My husband and I did not have to worry for one second the day of the wedding, they orchestrated everyone where they needed to be for pictures. I 100% recommend Benjamin and Kimberly!! VERY budget friendly!!!

Outstanding indeed! When my husband and I were originally looking for photographers, we knew we wanted a team that could capture our love. Ben and Kim are the sweetest couple, and are so very much in love. Their love for each other shined through in every one of our photographs. The advantage to having two of them, is definitely with the timing of your day: Kim spent the better portion of the wedding morning with me and my bridesmaids, while Ben was with the boys getting ready. At our venue, we were able to have all of our photographs done in a timely manner. They were easy to work with, accommodating, and... (this is the Bride in me speaking) super affordable! We will definitely plan to work with them again!

They are very creative in photography! The set ups and angles were awesome and it was nice having 2 photographers to get all sides of us and the surroundings! They were so nice and so accommodating to what we liked and wanted! They asked us what we wanted and photos that we wanted. Both Kim and Ben are very easy to talk to and I felt truly special on my big day. Everything was so wonderful and easy and I would love to have them again for something in the future! Thank you!!!

Kimberly and Ben were amazing throughout the whole wedding planning process...they were super organized and professional always answering questions through email immediately. They gave us an easy to understand contract and made sure they knew what type of photos we wanted by having us fill out a checklist and pin on a Pinterest page! They also offer very affordable prices which was important for my husband and I who were paying for the wedding ourselves.
On the wedding day they made the whole wedding party feel comfortable as they took many candid and beautiful shots. They had never seen the space before and they instantly knew where we should take photos within the space. After the wedding they had our wedding photos edited and ready for us within two weeks!! They are true artists- we highly recommend them.

Kim did two fitness shoots and a boudoir shoot for me - I couldn't have asked for a better photographer! She went above and beyond when it came to the design of the photo book. I loved her shots- she does such great editing! There were so many options to choose from. Any shoot I do in the fture, I will be booking Kim!!

There are not enough words to describe what a delight it was to work with Ben and Kim. "Stephen and I started dating soon after we became lab partners in college. Even before he asked me to be his wife, I knew exactly the type of wedding I wanted to plan: down-to-earth, rustic, and very personal. For me, finding kind and talented photographers (for a reasonable price!) was a top priority in order to memorialize one of the best days of our lives. Great Wickham Park photographer
--Pros--
We found Kindred Photography since they are listed as Wickham Park's preferred vendor for photography. Ben is a down-to-earth photographer (he was not bossing our wedding party around) - just went with the flow, and he is very knowledgeable about photography! Ben arrived to the wedding venue early to get set up and ready. Wickham Park is one of the photographer's favorite places - so they know the park well and where to go to get great photos! We appreciated Ben's advice to my husband on how to do a dip kiss for photos after the ceremony and a lift during the first look. Ben gave both of us coaching on how to pose.
I communicated with Kim over text message a lot (as they are a husband and wife team). I had a couple of zoom/phone calls with Ben leading up to the wedding day - on 2/28 and 9/16.
It took them about 11 weeks to get all the photos back to us. We really enjoyed the sneak peak of 17 photos sent to us 3 days after our wedding.
--Cons--
The photographer needed to reschedule the calls the morning of the call or the day before the call twice. But Kim was very responsive via text message so we worked it out.
I could have used more advise [before the wedding day] about what to do with my train since I was trying to decide about whether to keep it up or down for the first look the day of the wedding - like 20 minutes before the first look.
Ben did not get all the additional formal photo shots we requested (my dad with his siblings, my mom with her siblings). But I'll survive without these photos - someone got a non-professional version.
--Summary--
Overall, we recommend Kindred photography. We booked them about 7 months before our wedding (thank goodness they were still available). Kindred photography is modern with their technology - they give you access to an online portal to download your photos after they are ready and edited.

We are so glad we chose to have Kindred Photography for our wedding (6/2023). They were so easy to work with, and I never felt worried about whether of not something would get done, or whether I would get the photos I wanted. I knew they would be beautiful and they were. Kim and Ben did an amazinggg job at our engagements shoot and our wedding. The pictures came out great and are above and beyond all of our expectations for a very reasonable price! We met with many different photographers when trying to make a decision and we immediately knew we would hire Kim and Ben. They are so sweet and really passionate about their job. Kim and Ben were terrific to work with. They were very responsive to our questions during the planning process. On the wedding day, they were very unobtrusive and put everyone at ease, while still being very efficient and thorough. The day began with some heavy rain which cleared just before the reception, and they were able to adjust easily to the changing conditions. I am a little camera shy, but Kim and Ben were so pleasant and so clearly knew what they were doing, that I quickly felt comfortable with them. Within three days of the wedding they sent us some sneak peeks, which look amazing. We can't wait to see the rest of our photos!

Professional and Respectable Photographer Team!
We loved Kindred Photography from the moment we had our initial phone call. Kim was great at answering all of our questions and offered honest advice on things we were unsure of. We were confident after our first call Kim and Ben were the team we wanted to capture our wedding day, not only did they shoot our wedding; they also did our engagement session. Our engagement session and photos only made us more excited for the memories that would be captured on our day. Kimberly and Benjamin were very professional and extremely pleasant to work with. Kimberly was even willing to take our wedding photos in the rain. The only complaint we had was with the difficulty in contacting them. We would often leave several messages with before getting a return call. However, despite that, we had a very pleasant overall experience with them and the pictures came out beautiful.

Lovely Photos
We chose Kindred because they were close to our venue, they were budget friendly for us, and their portfolio was lovely with shots and lighting we really liked. We got lucky that they were available for our wedding even though we were planning a bit more last minute than most (4 months)! We had Ben for our wedding. He was kind and relaxed, lovely to chat and work with on the day and he took some beautiful shots for us. He has a good eye for finding spots with nice lighting especially with sun coming through the trees outside. They over delivered on the quantity of professional edits and captured some really lovely moments. We love so many of the photos he shot and had a hard time deciding which to print as there was a lot to choose from. Overall, definitely recommend Kindred for your wedding!
One thing we wish was better was responsiveness and communication. We had a difficult time getting ahold of and making plans ahead of the wedding to talk through the day of details which led to a bit of anxiety and we wish there was more of an opportunity to get specific about the group shots and who was captured in candids since we had such a short window of time with them.

Kim & Ben were great! They were flexible about hours needed and with going to 2 separate locations to photograph both my husband & I getting ready. The edited photos were delivered within 8 weeks on a flash drive and they exceeded the proposed number of photos by a large number. The images were high quality and they captured many moments for us to treasure for years to come!
