Best People Ever!!

If you need a set of wedding planners to plan the perfect wedding. To make sure you are not stressed at all on the day of your wedding. Kim and Abby are the way to go. Kim and Abby made sure everything was just right up to the wedding and on the day of the wedding. If Margeaux had any questions or concerns Kim and Abby were there to handle it. I think the best part of the night on the dance floor was seeing Kim dance while cleaning up a spill. Didn’t miss a beat the whole time she was doing the stanky leg.

Wedding planning is confusing, stressful and sometimes expensive, but with the help of Kim and Abby this was the easiest planning experience I have ever had.  I am a planner and I like to have everything organized and ready down to the letter. Kim and Abby both ensured we stayed on track and on budget. They gave me their best recommendations and helped me work with some of the best vendors out there. I couldn’t be happier how everything turned out and how much attention to detail they had. By far my favorite vendor to work with and without them I know my wedding wouldn’t have been as AMAZING as it was. Our guests can’t stop complimenting all the work these wonderful women did. We can’t wait to plan our next event just so we get to work with them again!

Kim Moody is Amazing!

Kim was so helpful in listening to my vision and wants, she took everything into account and really created the most beautiful day. She already got a sense of my personal style and really brought everything to life! She is so creative and such an amazing, talented and kind person, she really takes your thoughts and style into account when designing your dream wedding day. Couldn’t be happier with how my wedding day looked and that is all thanks to Kim, Abby and Marina!!

Essential help on your big day

Kim Moody’s team was incredible. I opted for day-of coordination services because I knew crisis management was best left to someone other than me that day! Mary Ruth jumped into action when my Maid of Honor busted a seam in her dress SECONDS before walking down the aisle. Mary Ruth whipped a sewing kit out of her fanny pack and stitched her right up. I honestly don’t know what we would have done without her.

They also made our boutonnières and my bridal bouquet. They were gorgeous!

10/10. HIGHLY recommend this team!

The Best Wedding Planner Around!

I don't even know where to start! We thoroughly enjoyed working with Kim Moody Design to plan our wedding. As soon as we hired them the stress of wedding planning went away- we immediately knew we were in good hands. They were incredibly experienced, knowledgeable, and flexible. They took the time to get to know us and not long after meeting us were able to predict what decisions we would make. The perfect floral designer for any occasion!

Kim Moody was amazing throughout the entire process. I had a lot of changes but she was so patient and flexible. These are crazy times and people can be flaky but not Kim! She communicated with me in every detail even when she didn't have to! She showed up for me like I was a friend or family member and I'll cherish that forever. She was professional and her work spoke for itself. We need more people in the world like Kim! She was truly a joy to work with! HIRE HER ASAP

Kim moody rocks!

We love and adore the team at Kim Moody Design! They made all of our floral dreams come true and were so easy to work with. Not knowing too much about florals, they were able to help me pull inspiration and decide on what exactly I wanted in arrangements and in florals. She was really instrumental in helping me with my budget considering I wanted to do some pretty elaborate details. Their professionalism throughout the whole process was very high and they truly care about their clients. From being on both the floral side and the planning side, they have so much knowledge to be able to help you through logistics. Since I was getting married in January, I wanted to feel like the inside was full of luscious greenery and florals where it felt like the outside came in. On the day of my wedding, Kim was perfectionist— making sure every detail and moving part was to my liking. I cannot day enough about them and how wonderful they are to work with. I am so grateful!!!! We love you Kim!

My Wedding Was Absolute Magic with Kim Moody Design

My fiance and I were engaged for a while before we finally came to the conclusion that we needed help in a major way planning our wedding. Enter Honeylyn Armstrong from Kim Moody Design. I can't say enough good things about her - she took our raw ideas and turned them into the wedding of our dreams. Everything was absolutely perfect down to the very last detail. Everyone at our wedding has told us how smooth everything was, and my friends who are planning weddings themselves have asked what we did differently - the answer is having a rock star wedding planner! My mom and I have talked about it several times since, but on the day of my wedding, we had absolutely no worries, because we knew that Honey and her team were going to make sure that everything got done, and we just knew it was going to be perfect. For all you brides/grooms to be, I can't even begin to tell you what an incredible gift it is to be able to actually relax and enjoy your wedding day! You're able to get ready with your friends and family and actually focus on yourself and be present for all those special moments. You're not worried about things being done correctly and on time when you have a team of professionals whose sole focus is making sure your vision and dreams come true. And not only that, but when my new husband and I left that night, I wasn't worried about our parents having to stay until all hours of the night packing up because that was taken care of too. Our wedding day felt like absolute magic, for us and for our families, and I know so much of that was because of Honey and her team's amazing work and their loving hearts! Everyone deserves to have the wedding day they've always dreamed of, and you can too if you give Kim Moody Design a call!

Professional, organized, and so personable!

Hiring Kim Moody and her team was the best decision I made when wedding planning. From the beginning everything was so organized and all of the team members working with me kept in touch on a weekly basis. They have great relationships with some amazing vendors, and I have nothing but good things to say about each and every vendor they recommended. Erin, Kim, Honey, and Ariel all were so friendly and easy going throughout my 2 year planning process and were so easy to get in contact with whenever I needed them! The day of the wedding went SO smoothly for me and I couldn't have asked for a more organized, easy, and amazing wedding day thanks to these wonderful ladies! My guests also had such great compliments to give this whole team as well and mentioned how organized, nice, and on top of everything they were. Kim Moody Design truly made my dream wedding come true AND made beautiful flower arrangements for me as well!! I highly recommend Kim Moody and her team for all wedding planning needs, they are truly the best!

Hands down best wedding planner/miracle worker!

Kim and her team of talented professionals are everything you could hope for when planning and enjoying your wedding. During the wedding rehearsal Kim emphasized that if anyone had issues (such as forgetting dress socks) the day of the wedding to contact her rather than distracting the bride or groom or their big day. We experienced an unexpected issue the morning of the wedding where three of the groomsmen arrived in a different color suit due to an error with the group number at the suit store (large, well known, national company). I assumed there would be no fix for this problem, but called Kim to let her know as pictures before the wedding were scheduled in 45 minutes. Kim immediately got to work and contacted the wedding suit vendor and arranged for them to find the suits, found a tailor to have them fitted, and had them delivered to us on site within the hour. AMAZING! We highly recommend Kim if you want to know everything will be taken care and have a perfect wedding.

Princess Sparkle's New Years Eve Wedding

New Years Eve wedding and reception! Honey, Erin and Kim were pulled all the vendors, florals and decorations beautifully. They understood our vision and priorites and worked to make it seamless and special for all of us. As the Mother of the Bride, I was able to truly enjoy the reception and leave the details to them. The communicated with all the vendors, handled all the set up and clean up and kept us on track with our reception timeline. They were professional and unflappable!!

We cannot emphasize how much we absolutely loved and appreciated the KMD team during our wedding planning journey! We were so lucky to have Honey Armstrong by our side from the beginning as we were looking for full planning services; planning a wedding can potentially be so stressful but under her guidance, it was a really fun and easy process. Honey is creative yet practical, responsive, patient, and overall, a joy to be around. She also has great professional relationships with other wedding vendors and we loved working with each of her vendor recommendations (catering, DJ, transportation, lighting, hair/makeup). KMD also does floral arrangements, which were beautiful! Many of our guests said it was one of the best wedding experiences they've had. Honey and the KMD team seriously created our dream wedding day and we are forever grateful to them!

When my daughter came to us with her engagement news, we were so excited and immediately began thinking of wedding plans. When, where, who, how……oh boy, there were so many questions to be answered! After talking with Kim Moody at Kim Moody Design, we agreed that there were numerous variables that we had never even considered, and with all of us working fulltime, we needed help!!

It was the BEST decision we could have made. Kim is such a professional and experienced wedding planner, and she was able to keep us on track all along the way, giving us numerous options to consider for every facet of the wedding, while keeping an eye on our budget! If we were feeling overwhelmed, she could quickly sense that and put our fears to rest! Her planning skills allowed her to stay on schedule and laid out everything for us to see, on a monthly, daily, and even hourly (as on the day of the wedding) basis!

Her vast experience enabled her to make recommendations for Equipment Rentals, Photographers, Caterers, Bakers, Entertainment, and more. Once choices were made in all areas, Kim became the point of contact and handled all transactions and planning with ease and expertise.

When bad weather became a serious possibility, Kim was on top of making plans to provide for alternate solutions.

Kim Moody and her staff provide an outstanding service, and we HIGHLY recommend her! We were able to enjoy the wedding without worrying about the multitude of logistics that need constant attention!

There is not a single thing I would have changed about our wedding day or the experience that Kim Moody Design provided leading up to it. Their team did a fantastic job with our day-of management, florals, and rentals. Honeylyn was our Lead Coordinator and Lindsey was her Assistant Coordinator. They recommended our Caterer, Cater2Events, who was both outstanding and in our price range. They also took our floral inspiration and put together arrangements that were unique and fit our vision. Both Honey and Lindsey went above and beyond to make sure that everything went on without a hitch and that no one in our wedding party or families had anything to stress about. They were thorough, professional, and put us at ease as they accommodated a few last minute curve balls with grace. Our guests are still raving about what a beautiful, fun, thoughtful wedding we had and the KMD team has so much to do with that. I would highly recommend them to anyone getting married near Richmond.

We just had my daughters wedding this weekend, and being from out of town, I don't know what we would have done with out Honey and Kim Moody Design! They knew the best places to get everything and Honey was amazing - she totally ran the show... even when we ran out of beer and food and I thought my husband was going too lose his mind ... she kept her cool....and his ...and made everything better. Booking KMD for our wedding was the best decision we made in the planning process! We used them for their day-of services and they really helped put our minds at ease knowing they were taking care of set-up and take-down and all the extra details in between. Even when things did not go exactly as planned minutes before the ceremony, our coordinator was quickly able to handle the situation and find a fix that worked out great! My husband and I were treated like royalty on our wedding day and it was like stepping into a fairytale after they worked their magic at the venue. Kim Moody Designs was fantastic to work with for my daughter's wedding. I needed someone to take over and do all the planning because we were all working full time. Kim and her associates did just that....everything was perfect. They put us in touch with a destination wedding travel planner that took care of flights and wedding preparations in Jamaica. KM Designs took care of the reception back home along with invitations and photography. It's great planning and service with no worries. The events were magical with so many little details that made everything so special!

Kim Moody Design was SO wonderful to my husband and me all throughout our wedding process. Honey was a doll and such a pleasure to work with during the wedding planning. I'm 100% sure that our wedding would not have been as pleasant without her. The Kim Moody Design team was so helpful through our wedding process. We were so lucky to get to work with Honey! She is truly an expert at planning. We were provided with different sheets to keep us on track including a stationary guide, wedding party lineup, budget sheet, and vendor contacts. The working spreadsheet was my favorite! We worked together to fill all the important details in as the months went by. She was quick to respond to emails, and took extra time to have quick phone calls when I started to get nervous about some fine details. It was a load off to know that we had such a dedicated professional to coordinate with the vendors. Honey and Quinn were amazing the day of the wedding. There was nothing for me to worry about! They had all the bases covered. Quinn was readily available to help me maneuver in my dress, and made sure I had everything I needed. Honey was amazing keeping us all on track from the entrance to the send off! I didn't have to worry about anything after the send off either. They made sure all the gifts, flowers, cake, and anything extra we used through out the night was packed up and personally placed in the designated car to take home. We worked with Kim Moody for both our planning services as well as our floral, and were very pleased with both. Our planner -- Honey -- was very helpful throughout the process and really ensured that everything was perfect on our day. Honey Armstrong was the planner we worked with. My daughter and her fiance did all of the pre-wedding planning with Honey. I did not meet her until the day of the wedding, but they had told me how efficient she was and attuned to every detail. She relieved them of a lot of stress, thinking of things they hadn't thought of, of course. On the day of the wedding, I was immediately impressed by how organized she was. But she really showed her mettle when we had a catering snafu during the reception: we ran out of wine, with 4.5 hours left in the reception! This was at a venue 40 miles outside of Richmond - pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, the caterer was not on the premises, having over-committed his resources for the evening. It could have been a horror story. But Honey took control of the situation, and got the wine restocked in pretty short order. Thankfully, what might have been a miserably embarrassing night for me, my daughter and her husband, turned out to be a wonderfully fun event that we will remember happily. I cannot say enough about Honey's professionalism under fire. She was outstanding in the planning and execution and went way beyond her "job description" to ensure a wonderful event. As the mother of the bride, having Honey there allowed me to breathe the night before and the day of. She took care of EVERYTHING. There were questions we had not thought about and things to do we had not thought about BUT she had thought about everything and with Conde's assistance, my daughter's wedding ran without a glitch. Kim Moody wedding planners should really be given a 10 out of 5! Mary Ruth and Quinn pulled the whole production together. And it was a production! They were priceless to me and my family. I wish i could have tipped them a thousand dollars a piece! Not only were they the wedding planners but also our florist. I didn't know it was possible to tear up over the beauty of the bouquets. The ultimate compliment to us was having them dance with us at the wedding! I have to admit i am tearing up as i write this because Mary Ruth and Quinn seemed like family by the end of the wedding. They helped us give our daughter Christina and her husband Ryan the wedding only dreams are made of.

Mary Ruth was essential for our special day. Camberly was also there to help for our wedding, and was crucial for its success. We did partial planning and Mary Ruth was there throughout the process the big day and she was available by email at any time to answer any questions or give suggestions or ideas. We are so happy that we decided to go with Kim Moody Design for planning. We also did our florals through KMD and we were very happy with how all of the flowers turned out. We would seriously recommend KMD for planning and florals.

When I started the wedding planning process, I knew that I was going to need some help. I interviewed in person with multiple wedding planners in the Richmond area. Then, I knew my search was over when I spoke with Honey one night on the phone. I didn’t need to meet with her to know that THIS WAS MY GIRL! I spoke with her about what Kim Moody Design had to offer & their work ethic & I was sold. I went with the partial planning option & couldn’t be happier with everything Honey & the ladies at KMD have done for us. They made the wedding planning process easy. Honey was also there to refer vendors, answer questions, offer opinions. She literally has the answer to everything! During my planning process, Honey was pregnant & had her beautiful baby boy! Honey worked incredibly hard while she was pregnant & basically had my October wedding completely finalized before she went on maternity leave in August. Like who does that?! Honey does! Because she’s THAT AWESOME! While Honey was on maternity leave Kim went above & beyond to make sure that I was well taken care of. To make the wedding planning process even easier (& better) I used a lot of KMD's services. We used their rental decor, flowers, & stationary which were all amazing! When it came to the actual wedding, everything was flawless! Honey was back from maternity leave because she’s again, THAT AWESOME! The wedding day was everything I could have ever dreamed of. If anything went wrong during that day, my husband & I have no clue about it & that’s what they are there for. They set everything up & took everything down at the end of the night so we had nothing to worry about all day. Honey & Regis were there when we needed anything at all. My mom would not stop talking about how well taken care of she felt by them. Seriously, when I say KMD made our wedding perfect, they really did. If you are looking for someone to deliver a wedding beyond your expectations, I highly recommend Kim Moody Design!

I am the mother of a bride and highly recommend Kim Moody Design. We hired Kim Moody Design as a "day of "planner and florist. Honey helped us with the floral arrangements and they were beautiful. Mary Ruth helped us each step of the way in planning and responded promptly to our many questions. She coordinated with all our vendors, so on the wedding day I had nothing to do but enjoy the festivities. Mary Ruth made it absolutely perfect and carefree and their services are worth every penny. Working with Honey was so FUN, collaborative, and she really "gets it" when you describe your vibe and vision. She could not be sweeter and easier to talk to, and took all of the confusion out of the planning process. I am very type-A, armed with my to-do lists, excel sheets, and binders. I was convinced that I didn't need a planner, and should spend the money elsewhere for the wedding. But at the end of the day, it comes down to this: on the day of, you don't want your BMs, moms, friends, or yourself to have to run around prepping flowers, lining people up, timing everything, coordinating with vendors, organizing paperwork, taking care of payments and tips, etc. The list literally goes on forever.

On the wedding day, Honey and Nicole (who helped as a second planner on the day of), got there early and set up everything like it was out of a magazine. They brought all of my ideas to life and ran around making sure every detail was in place while I got ready with my girls and enjoyed the moment. If there is one "splurge" that I would recommend to anyone over nicer flowers, a more expensive dress, or anything else, it is to first get a planner - ideally one from KMD. Side benefit: we ended up saving money on a lot of things (especially decor) because Honey knew all the tips and tricks on where to buy certain items and knew the quantities that we actually needed. Honey made everything so painless and I am SO grateful to have had her (and the KMD team) by my side for our wedding!

My daughter was married at Fairview Farm in Powhatan, VA 2 weeks ago. KMD was a preferred vendor that was recommended by this venue. We did our homework and found nothing but wonderful comments and reviews about this wedding planner company. They did NOT disappoint. We opted for the full service planning, as my daughter lives out of town and was getting married in another city as well...it just seemed like too much to tackle at a distance. Using KMD was definitely one of our best decisions. Honey Armstrong was our lead planner and she was extremely organized and had many useful tips and suggestions along the way. These ladies truly know their "stuff" :) I always felt like my decisions and thoughts were primary in their planning, but they knew when to intervene to help make things work smoothly. Other vendors that worked with us were very complimentary of this team - they all felt relieved knowing that things would run smoothly with KMD at the helm which makes life so much easier for everyone. We had a very last minute change in where we were holding the actual ceremony at F/F due to the heat - it rattled no one (maybe me?!) - but things moved so seamlessly and smoothly...it was truly a testimony to how absolutely terrific Honey and her wonderful assistant (Nicole McAllister) are - Additionally, KMD did our florals for the day and they were BEAUTIFUL!!!! I have never seen such perfection in anything - from the bridal bouquet, to the bridesmaids bouquets, to the arbor that my daughter and her fiancee were married under...STUNNING!!!!! it was a day we will never forget and I will always be thankful for Honey and her help throughout this process. Soon after my daughter’s finance placed the diamond engagement ring on her finger and we shared oohs over its 4 C’s of cut, color, clarity, and carat, she began thinking of her upcoming ceremony and reception. She decided to hire a professional event planning service. To help her search, she considered a different set of 4 C’s: communication, creativity, contract negotiation, and calm, cool control – the attributes she wanted in a wedding planner. She found her perfect match and gem with Honey at Kim Moody Design and contracted with her for the full planning service. I recommend you do the same.

Communication: Along with a couple of major planning sessions, Honey scheduled 4 to 6 week phone chats, but was also easily and readily accessible at a moment’s notice. She excels at keeping planning sessions germane to the tasks at hand, assuring progress moves full steam ahead.

Creativity: Honey took my daughter’s likes as posted on Pinterest and worked magic with her vision for the church and reception venue. The room layout, floral arrangements, lighting, and décor were perfect, gorgeous, and exceeded our expectations.

Contract Negotiation: We relied heavily on Honey’s industry contacts and her expertise with negotiating contracts and fees. She connected us with the best service providers and wedding professionals in the Richmond area while keeping our budget in mind.

Calm: Throughout the year of planning and most importantly on the day of the wedding, Honey’s calm personality and organizational control wiped away our stress and worries. She took charge of everything, allowing us to enjoy ourselves and have fun!

Hiring Kim Moody Design for our day-of-wedding planning was absolutely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. The KMD team has many, many years of experience in the business and it shows - I would trust them and recommend them to any couple seeking the support of a wedding coordinator. They are so on top of it and the team went above and beyond on our wedding date. Not only does the team excel beautifully at the "big stuff" (dealing with vendor contracts, managing any crisis that come up, etc.) the team brings such a personal and thoughtful touch to the organizing. I don't know how they did it, but the team was everywhere at once on our wedding day: communicating with the caterer, bartenders, officiant, and transportation, making sure my sweetie and I always had refreshing drink in our hand and that we got to eat (a huge deal!), making sure the tiny details of the ceremony were executed perfectly, setting up decor, guest gifts, and more. KMD has so much experience, they catch and take care of details you might not even know to consider.

KMD did everything: they were efficient and professional, competent and seasoned. What really makes KMD special is that in addition to delivering on the services, KMD brings a sincere care, affection, joy, and care to their work. You feel loved for and cared for by the team, that they are personally vested in making your day perfect for you.

For me, hiring a wedding planner was a difficult decision. I wanted someone who would go to bat for me, be unquestionably capable, and also be caring and thoughtful. We got all of that with KMD.

Hire KMD. You absolutely will not regret it. I can't thank them enough for how they made our day: we were actually able to enjoy it and be present to it knowing that the wedding production was being taken care of in the most capable hands.

What I wanted to say was what a fabulous job Honey and Nicole did at my son, Blake’s wedding. Honey and team worked hand in glove with Kelly and her team from Harvest Moon. One would have thought you all worked together all the time but I understand this was your first time working together. The day was simply outstanding from start to finish and with the inclement weather looming in the background I was even more impressed with your hard work and attention to detail. You could have easily just said, we are doing this all in the tent and I would have perfectly understood. But you monitored the weather like meteorologists and made the call to have the event come off as originally planned. The rains held off for the wedding service and cocktail hour and the skies opened as we were seated for dinner. I would have to say I am convinced Honey even has connections with Mother Nature.

Honey is a consummate professional and appears to read people’s needs even before they know they have them. I would highly recommend Kim Moody Design to anyone looking to do any type of wedding or executive event. You are a pleasure to work with and provide excellent guidance at very reasonable prices. I know Blake’s and Steph’s wedding would not be the spectacular event it was providing memories for a lifetime had it not been for all your time and attention to every little detail.

This morning, as I reflect on my daughter's wedding which took place two days ago; I'm savoring not only a delicious slice of leftover wedding cake, but also a bouquet of poignant moments and sweet memories from that entire weekend. I can honestly say, as I reminisce over the last 48 hours, I have not one trace of regret or lingering "if only" thoughts. That is largely due to the wonderful wedding planning services of Kim Moody Design. Nicole was appointed as my lead "Day of" planner nearly a year ago. Not only did she and her assistant Honey take care of every detail from start to finish on the wedding weekend; but also provided a wealth of support and creative inspiration throughout the panning process the entire year. For the rehearsal and the wedding day, Nicole and Honey were an awesome duo, multitasking the various vendors, people, and personalities involved. They were super flexible when we decided on a whim to completely change up the bride and groom's exit from one end of the venue property to the other. They seamlessly coordinated the sudden change with the photographer and videographer at the last minute. Also, at one point after the cake cutting, as I noticed several guests staring to leave, I started to panic and urged Nicole that we needed to speed the evening along and wrap things up quicker to keep the guests happy. She assured me this was a normal response at all weddings, and then directed my attention to the dance floor where I observed my daughter and her new husband, and all of their friends having the time of their lives. I was grateful and humbled by her wisdom in that moment that reminded me who that day was really about. Had she not exercised her wisdom in that moment, I might have missed one of my sweetest memories of the day when the bride and groom were surrounded by just a handful of their dearest friends and family for a dusk departure. I am so glad I invested in Nicole, and the KMD team. They were invaluable!

I love Kim Moody & her team! They went above and beyond to make our day special! My husband and I got married on November 1st and it was the coldest day in November. We originally planned for an outdoor ceremony but since it was cold and super windy, Kim & her team were able to accommodate with any changes that came our way. Everyone worked very hard and our wedding experience was incredibly stress-free. I had complete trust in Kim & her team that they would make everything run smoothly and everyone was extremely pleased with the result. They offer different wedding planning packages and even tailer them to you and your different needs. They not only do wedding planning but also flowers, gifts, and invitations and we are doing everything through them. We are so happy to have such a fantastic team on board with us and would recommend no one but them!

We hired Kim Moody Designs only 60 days before the wedding date. She and her staff provided services for the day of and for the rehearsal practice.

I would like to say the day went off without a hitch! KMD used our decorations and decorated our venue which was a barn and it was absolutely beautiful! Kim and her staff were always professional, responsive and most helpful!
I highly recommend KMD they are a FULL service design team and can provide services that FIT your budget!

Kim and her wonderful staff created the perfect wedding day for me and Andrew. We had some ideas in mind but didn't know exactly how to put all of the pieces together to create the rustic chic barn wedding we wanted. Kim took our ideas and created the most beautiful Southern barn wedding I could have ever imagined. Every single detail came together perfectly and really showcased who we are both as individuals and as a couple. Kim was wonderful to work with planning my wedding. Whatever vision my husband and I had, Kim made it happen. Our flower bouquets and centerpieces were beautiful. Possibly the best part was Kim's handling of finalizing all our details with the vendors and day-of planning. In the words of someone close to our wedding and experienced with Kim’s work, “I’m not sure how anyone can plan a wedding without Kim.” We couldn’t agree more. Kim was so great to work with. She made our wedding day and the days leading up to it carefree and enjoyable. We didn’t worry about vendors, seating arrangements, or the small details on our wedding day because we knew Kim had everything under control. She made sure that our wedding day was everything we dreamt it would be.

In the days leading up to the wedding Kim was the one who reached out to our venue and vendors to ensure that all was taken care of. When my wife had questions or just needed to talk things through during the many months and late nights of planning, Kim was there for her as a friendly sounding board. When our pastor had an obligation she had to attend the night before our wedding, Kim stepped in to ensure that we all knew what to do the day of. Needless to say, Kim and her team went well above the call of duty.

Kim was also our florist for the wedding. We could not have been happier with the outcome of our arrangements. I was a bit skeptical at first when I heard Peacock feathers but the final outcome blew me away. I was amazed at how beautiful everything looked and what made me even happier was seeing my wife so excited with the outcome. Kim and her put their heads together and developed arrangements and decorations that received numerous compliments.

Did I mention that much of these meetings and brainstorming sessions occurred over the phone? My wife and I were planning our wedding from afar and Kim was so helpful in making sure that everything was looked after. She knew the people we were wanting to work with and gave us great feedback on how to make everything go smoothly. She was our eyes and ears in Virginia. Kim’s service to us on that day was invaluable. What sets her apart in my opinion though is the personal attention that she gave to my wife and I. Whether it was getting us water while we were outside for our photo shoot or getting my mother a chair while she waited to be photographed, we truly felt like the center of attention. I would agree with the quote at the beginning that I don’t know how anyone can plan a wedding without Kim.

Since we were from out of state, we looked for a wedding planner that could help us find the perfect services from around the Staunton area (we were married in a Vineyard in Fishersville). Kim brought us a professionalism and dedication that made us feel that we were in the right hands. There was no detail too small that was left out, or too big that couldn't be done.

It was a blessing to have both Kim and Andrew (her wonderful assistant, who's also her husband) helping the final days leading up to the wedding. They covered every aspect of the preparation so that the wedding party could focus in on what we needed to do. The decorations, layout, reception, etc. was perfect, thanks to Kim!

Even before we arrived, we spend almost a year working with Kim to get all the details perfect. She was always so helpful, and you could see her dedication to what she does so clearly. If we needed a vendor, a rehearsal dinner space, or even just an ear to through ideas off of, she was there. We couldn't have done it without her.

Kim is such a joy to work with. She works very hard for her brides and is so professional. I got married the weekend after Hurricane Irene at the beach and was never aware until after the wedding that my flowers how to be flown in because the wholesaler in Nolfolk had no electricity. My flowers were BEAUTIFUL and I was never stressed over the situation because Kim did not tell me until afterwards. I would recommend Kim Moody Design to any bride that wants someone that will work very hard for them. Kim is nothing short of AMAZING!

Kim did all the flowers and little touches for my wedding/wedding reception. Kim is extremely creative and really helped me find the vibe that I wanted for my wedding. I told her how much I wanted to spend on flowers and what colors I was looking for and she had so many great ideas. From the very first day of brainstorming, through planning and the arrival of our Wedding Day, not one thing could have gone any smoother or been more amazing! Every Bride has those days when they feel like they just don't even know what to do next (there's so much that goes in to that special day). Kim and Andrew (her assistant and very fantastic husband) knew and understood our vision almost better than we did. They always had wonderful contacts, decorating ideas, organizing ideas, and options that made our day a dream!

I am a very OCD person about many things and leaving details to someone else is not something that I handle well. Kim Moody Design's dedication to every detail was impeccable! Their commitment and dependability through every step left my mind at ease and I would recommend them to any Bride looking to have the PERFECT Wedding Day!!!

We we're married in an outdoor ceremony on Lake Gaston at my husband's parent's home and our reception was an hour and a half away on my parent's horse farm. Not a problem for this team at all! They say people can't be in two places at one time, but every detail at both locations was so unbelievable that we are still trying to figure out how!

Kim Moody Design also planned and designed our Rehearsal Dinner Evening. They made it feel like we were on a Tropical Island in paradise. Yet another AMAZING event!

Kim Moody Design was by our sides through everything. Just a call or visit away to solve anything immediately! Even when my mother or mother-in-law would make things frustrating, Kim had that positive and professional way to mend everything! I know that no way and no how could anyone ever fill the shoes that they did. Without any further thought, Kim is the #1 choice for that Special Day!!! Both of our families are still receiving notes and comments from family and friends that not one detail was left undone! Thank you so much for all that you did to make our day magnificent!!!

Kim did the design for my wedding, and it turned out to be the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen. She was able to execute my vision perfectly, and achieve the exact atmosphere I was looking for. The personal touches and overall vision were even better than I had imagined.

She also did the rehearsal and day-of coordination, as well as set up and take down. Everything went smoothly, and all of my friends and family had rave reviews, and enjoyed working with her. The venue I used was also pleased with how well she worked with them, and how thorough the cleanup was.

I had the opportunity to work with Kim on other weddings before I chose her for my own (I worked at a venue and was able to work with many wedding planners and choose the best from all those I had experienced!). Every wedding I have ever seen her involved with has been beautiful and smooth, and the couples have been very happy with the results. This was absolutely not true for many other planners I have worked with!

Kim is also a pleasure to work with- pleasant, professional, and always positive and supportive. She is incredibly hardworking, creative, and made me feel like the only bride she was working with. I recommend Kim absolutely!!

Kim at Texture Design Studio was amazing to work with. She handled every detail of our wedding and reception and all I had to do was show up! From going with me gown shopping to managing all of the vendors, negotiating the best possible rates, and the most beautiful floral design you can imagine, all within our budget! I had complete trust in her that the event would be flawless and I was extremely pleased with the result. She even themed the decor to suit our individual personalities in the two different parts of the reception. Her staff was knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous. Our guests raved about how beautiful everything was and she was the best investment in our wedding budget without question!

Kim Moody is an incredibly talented, reliable and organized wedding planner. It was such a relief having her on our team. She is very flexible, and able to perform a wide range of wedding services.

Kim's flexibility is part of what makes her great. We had a home wedding on a budget; I hired all of the vendors, but on the day of, Kim made sure that they all showed up, knew where to go, how to set up, etc. Because of our budget, we hired her only for the day of, and the day before the wedding (as well as 2-3 meetings beforehand). She helped us organize our space, was in contact with all of our vendors and rallied all of our volunteer troops to really get our decorating and everything else off the ground.

I have no doubt that Kim is very capable of performing the full, more traditional wedding planner role- we just didn't have the room in the budget for her full services.

Kim is also incredibly talented at diffusing emotionally tense family moments in the planning period. She is the bride and groom's number one ally at all times, but she also chooses her words carefully and shows utmost respect to all meddling family members.

I loved my wedding. We really got lucky on all our vendors. However, the best decision by far was our decision to hire Kim. Her work and efforts allowed me to relax and enjoy my wedding day---she was wonderful.

The entire team at Kim Moody made sure our wedding ran smoothly! Our main coordinator was Honeylyn Armstrong and she was amazing. Although I booked the vendors and decided details running up to the day of the wedding, about 1 month and then really 1 week out Honey stepped in to make sure everything was happening how it should and that details were finalized. I want to note they were there to answer questions - even months in advanced - there was just one time they weren't as responsive as I'd like with sending details - but it all worked out great in the end. I would not have felt so calm the day of the wedding without having her there making sure everything was set up, coordinated with vendors, and that we were following the timeline she created (with input, which was super awesome to know everything was planned and details were known ahead of time). I was the last wedding in the family and it was great to have someone there making sure things ran smoothly so that my mom could enjoy the day fully.

They also did our flowers, and they were fantastic. I was sent a picture of the bouquet and asked if I liked it or if I wanted any changes. Right before it started, there were two little buds dying and Honey snipped them off so that pictures would be perfect - the details she thought of!

Another example of how much I love this company: we had bought a polaroid camera, but guests weren't taking two photos so we could keep one - Honey spent time going around and taking photos of guests to make sure we had those too!

One last example: I couldn't really eat in my dress when I was sitting. I asked Honey if I could have a plate when we did the sunset photos. She said of course, and even deshelled the seafood so that I could eat it easily. It just showed the company really went all out to make sure it was a perfect and enjoyable day.

I would recommend this company to anyone who wants to be able to enjoy the day of their wedding fully. It was worth every penny!

Well, in our case my family and I needed as much help as we could get being from another state. I was in unfamiliar territory so KMD really showed their true colors for us....Our wedding was two years in the making so the road seemed long but KMD always were reassuring. In the beginning, I thought I could plan my wedding myself (with my mom and MIL). I bought books, notebooks, did research, etc. The more planning I did, the more overwhelmed I felt. One of the best decisions I have ever made in life was to work with Honeylyn Armstrong of Kim Moody Design. I didn't have the slightest idea of what my expectations were and about the process of working with a planer. I prepared for both the pros and the cons, and including having to work over long distance (we live in New York City.) And, I can’t emphasize enough how much Honeylyn surpassed my positive expectations and gave me complete reassurance. Honey is extremely professional, and accurately recognizes what poses urgency and what doesn’t (seriously, trustworthy and a voice of reason). Additionally, she utilized several digital tools to make communicating easy and consistent (email, spreadsheets, docs, vendor contracts, seating/rsvp) . I always felt like we shared information fast and always remained on the same page. Honey was attentive to our personalities and responsive to the personal insight we shared and made it a priority to listen. Furthermore, she was flexible to everything we asked. She is a fantastic budget keeper. When I often asked, “what do you think,” she gave me an honest and fast answer, not motivated by price, convenience or custom- but, by what she believed would matter to me and my husband in the end. I have a notorious bad habit of being late, and she kept me on time (!) and even without making me feel restricted or stressed. In regard to design details, she almost at times knew how to articulate ideas and visions I couldn’t. I didn’t cry when I said, “I do.” I did cry as soon as I saw the completed reception design for the first time! So, I emphasize my endorsement in every way. Honeylyn is not only, as person extremely qualified and efficient as a planner, but she is also wholesomely genuine and caring as a human. It was a pleasure - and I encourage future brides considering a planner to believe it would be a worthwhile in both time and money to contact KMD.

Kim Moody Design was the best to work with. I live in Utah, my mom is in Georgia, and we were getting married in Virginia. I was so stressed coordinating all the vendors when I started the wedding planning myself. After phone conferencing with my mom and Honey Armstrong (our planner) for the first time, my mom realized how imperative it would be to have her help us through the wedding planning process. Honey was great stepping into the work I had started, and immediately took a huge load off my shoulders. We spent hours on the phone with her. She took the vision of my wedding and added unique design twists to make it even better than we could have imagined. She worked with so many difference vendors behind the scenes to ensure our day went perfectly. She and Lindsey (her assistant for the day of) worked super hard to make the ceremony and reception spaces perfect for our guests. Honey made sure my ideas as the bride, came first. We also did our florals through Kim Moody, and everyone raved about how beautiful our flower were. There was a little bit of time where the company went through some staffing changes are were spread a bit thin and they weren't quite as responsive as I was used to. But in the end, our wedding came together perfectly and we know we could not have done it without Honey and KMD!

Honey is probably the only reason I didn't have a nervous breakdown while planning this wedding. She is seriously amazing! She answered all of my questions (and there were a lot) and when there were details that I hadn't even thought about that needed to be decided, she was quick to jump in with suggestions the worked perfectly with our wedding theme. I also so appreciate that she was willing to tell me when I had not so good ideas. She got my vision and kept me on the right path. On the night of our wedding, I have no idea if anything went wrong because if it did Honey and Conde just took care of it. Conde managed to keep a rambunctious group of groomsmen together for the ceremony and introductions, which is no small feat. The flowers and decor that the KMD team did were also amazing. I didn't even think about looking at other vendors for those because I was already so pleased with the planning services and I trusted Honey with basically my life. Seriously y'all, I am very heart eye emoji over Honey and the whole KMD team.

Honey and the KMD team helped us pull together a truly unique experience on our family farm. They have a great eye for design and know how to pull all the details together regardless of the number of outside vendors involved. Our wedding day was incredible and we attribute much of that to the KMD team.

If you're wondering whether a wedding planner is worth the cost, the answer is Yes! It's difficult to put a price on peace of mind & reduced stress, but I will say the sooner you book these ladies, the better, as the price pretty much stays the same either way. Where I found them most helpful was coordinating day-of. Neither we nor our families had to worry about any of the details day-of, and were able to relax and enjoy our special day we had worked so hard to plan!

Even with a 2 woman team from Kim moody design these girls were absolutely fantastic! I world recommend them to anyone on a budget and only need a coordinator on the day of. With them I things would not have run so smoothly. Worth almost every penny.

We worked with Kim Moody for our wedding at Keswick Hall near Charlottesville, Virginia. Kim was exceptional to work with throughout the entire process. She was intuitive and understood what we wanted with little explanation. She was patient, instilled confidence and was highly communicative. On our wedding day, we were blown away by the arrangements Kim and her team put together. Despite having given birth only a few weeks earlier, she was there on our wedding day making sure every little detail was perfect...and it was. I'd definitely recommend Kim Moody to future brides and grooms.

We were very impressed with the day of coordination by Kim Moody Designs. We had full service planning and felt that the team gave good recommendations for vendors and was very responsive in helping us book those vendors. Our wedding decorations turned out beautiful. We also used the team for our floral designs. Although the designs were gorgeous, some of them were note exactly what we had asked for (i.e. we got corsages instead of bouquets, we asked for full white flowers with no greenery and there was some greenery). However, the designs were beautiful and we were really pleased with their day of coordination of the events.

I cannot convey the sincere disappointment & anger I have gone through knowing I did everything in my power to ensure my wedding day was a success & my hired coordinator ruined much of my day's experience. Our event was a while ago now, but it is still with me. I hope someone else can learn from my experience.
I had a conversation before contracting with KMD explaining in great detail the needs for our wedding, money being no object. The initial contact with Honey was great, very detailed & I felt comfortable with her recommendation to a Month-Of coordinator based on our needs. We spoke on the phone with the coordinator beforehand & I was admittedly not over the moon but knew we just needed someone to follow directions. It just went downhill from there. We had to speak to her several times about being responsive. Her response: it was busy season & she had a lot of other clients. She showed attitude towards several of our vendors and on the day of, it was disastrous. My family, who flew over 6,000 miles, had to step-in because our coordinator was nowhere to be found. She didn't even talk to me, the Bride, until I arrived to walk down the aisle at my scheduled time. She caused a fire on the head table & ruined our Italian velvet runners, after specifically instructing her not to light the candles due to winds. She didn't have over $6k worth of flowers moved to the reception space. The list goes on. My guests, vendors & family left complaining about everything that involved her.
We were in touch with Kim for a month after our honeymoon. Kim confessed her firm's fault & yet, she offered us no solutions. In the end, when we said we would charge-back half our contract, she finally offered a credit for 5% of our contract. We would've pursued this further if we lived closer as this was very poorly handled.
No bride wants to remember the bad from such a beautiful moment, so I am sure many others have just walked away. Now, so can I.
