Amazing photography

An amazing photographer and a good person
I unhesitatingly recommend Ken Thomas Photography! Ken’s professionalism before, during, and after our May 2022 wedding has been exceptional. His attention to detail has been superb, and his talent is evident in our finished products. I’m thrilled with our photos, and I’m so thankful that I found such an accomplished professional for our special day.
Way back in 2019, Ken met with me in person at his studio to discuss our expectations and to give me more information about his work. He impressed me as a delightful and extremely professional gentleman, and I liked him immediately. He also, during one of our visits, devised a detailed timeline for the events of our special day. That timeline proved invaluable in calming me on our wedding day and in keeping the festivities on schedule.
All was nicely on track with all our wedding businesses, but due to the pandemic, we rescheduled our 2020 wedding. Ken was more than understanding and accommodating as I tried to come up with alternative dates. He was always a pleasure to speak with and even checked in with me from time to time to make sure we were still on schedule.
On the day of the wedding, he arrived at our location in Marion County, South Carolina over an hour before the start time on our timeline, just to scope out the private home where our wedding was being held and to get an idea of photo locations. He was friendly and kind with everyone, both during photo sessions and at other times.
He was fast and efficient in taking pictures, and his experience as a photographer showed as he quickly arranged us and our families in various great poses. My groom and I are both 60 years old, and he not only tried to make us feel more comfortable in posing - something that could have tried the patience of other folks - but also treated us just as he would a good-looking couple in their 20’s. He made us feel special and was completely patient with his elderly bride and groom and our even-older guests.
In addition to the posed photographs, he took great candid shots as well as many lovely photos of our outdoor ceremony. Since we didn’t have a videographer, it was especially meaningful to me that I have photos of our vows and our walk down the aisle together.
I received so many compliments from guests and family members, even before they saw the finished photos. Those in attendance noted that Ken was always available and busy taking photos throughout the evening and that he was unfailingly friendly. And then when they saw the nearly 500 photos - wow!
I’m a technophobe, but Ken very patiently helped me with the online viewing of our pictures. He even emailed us a sneak-peek of around a hundred pictures less than a week after our wedding. The prints of all sizes are beautiful (despite the elderly subject matter!), and the lighting and color are perfect in each photo.
When my two sons someday marry their girlfriends, I’d love to have Ken as the photographer. Even after all my wordy review, I can’t think of a higher compliment than that!

Best of the Best Wedding Photography
The most important thing is photos of your wedding. You want to make sure they're perfect with all your memories. Ken is AMAZING! From the moment we booked Ken which was a year and half in advance. The communication was amazing. The week leading up to our wedding he checked in and made sure we were ok and didn't need anything. The day of the wedding it was all about us and he made sure if that! So Blessed to Find Ken!
I can’t say enough good things about Ken! He is professional and personable at the same time. Our engagement and wedding pictures were beyond amazing and he captured every moment, feeling, and emotion on film perfectly. I cry fresh tears of joy each time I look at them, because it feels like I am reliving the joy of the day. He as a master at his craft but also very reasonably priced. I own and operate a florist in Marshville, North Carolina. Fortunately that means I have the pleasure of meeting many talented vendors at weddings and events. That is how I met Ken Thomas! While mutually working several weddings I noticed how professional, kind, and attentive Ken was with the families he was serving. There was no doubt he would be the perfect choice for my own daughter’s upcoming wedding. From the start, Ken was very accommodating. He photographed her engagement session, bridal portrait session, and wedding. Picture Perfect Photography
We cannot express enough how grateful we are to Ken Thomas Photography for everything that they did to make our wedding picture perfect. Right from the initial meeting with Ken, we felt very comfortable with him and his artistic vision. During the pre-planning meeting he was very helpful and made us think of scenarios and considerations that we would have never thought of. He was more insightful than a professional wedding planner. By being proactive, we were able to plan out all of the shots that would help capture our memories of a lifetime.
The day of the nuptials, Ken and his associate Fred, were literal Rock Stars. They were able to get all of the shots we requested plus a whole lot more that we never would have thought to ask for. All of our guests were highly impressed with their professionalism and their ability to get so many shots that captured all of the amazing moments of the day. At one point during the day when we were somewhat behind schedule due to hair and make-up, Ken was the calming force that made us feel that no matter what, it was going to be a special day.
Getting the sneak preview of our wedding photography was absolutely the best! It was almost as fabulous as the wedding day itself. It was great to relive all of the warm and fuzzy feelings from our big day, and they arrived on time as promised. They were the perfect appetizer to hold us over until we were able to get the full lot. It’s three months out now and we still enjoy looking through all of the awe-inspiring photography. Now that we have all of them back, we are wondering how we can redecorate the house to find a place to put all of the memorable moments captured by Ken Thomas Photography.

Ken and his partner were incredible! Very professional and outstanding quality. He did our engagement and wedding photos and we still have people talking about them. When planning a wedding my husband and I decided the photography and food were the most important. I can't stop looking at my amazing photos!
I can't stop looking at my amazing photos! And I rarely like any picture taken of me, usually I find a million different things wrong with any picture of me. I have never had so many pictures that I not only like but absolutely love and can't seem to find a single thing wrong and can't find anything to pick at! After having surgery due to cancer my number one concern was the scars on my chest from the drain tubes showing in my wedding pictures. I have been dreading the day I had to do my bridal pictures and honestly my biggest worry was seeing those scars in my photos for the rest of my life. I don't know if I ever shared my concerned about that or not, but after looking closer at my pictures it looks like Ken was able to edit them right out. I had tears in my eyes when I was looking at them as I knew that my bridal photos do not have those scars in them and I do not have to be self conscious about it when sharing these beautiful pictures with others. The first time we met, Ken asked what I liked about his work, and at that time I didn't really have a good answer, I just like his pictures. It looked liked he had an eye for detail and his style of photography matched my vision for my wedding. Now I have a better answer. Ken takes time to look from his client's eyes. He understands what the individual wants even when they don't know exactly how to express to him what they want. His attention to detail is like no other! It's clear that he doesn't just take pictures to make a living, he takes pictures because it's his passion and that passion clearly shows! I had a good feeling about choosing Ken as our photographer but never in a million years did I ever imagine that I would be this amazed and pleased with the outcome, and don't take that in the wrong way please I'm just extremely picky LOL. I would recommend Ken to anyone without hesitating for a second! Ken has made my biggest worry about one of the most important days in my life completely disappear! Again, a million thanks!

Ken was hands-down the most responsive photography vendor that we reached out to. He was very thorough and patient with our questions during our consultation, and the quality of his work displayed at his studio was impressive. We loved Ken
Ken is a true professional. We were able to work with Ken for 6 months before our wedding and we could tell it was important and not just a job for him. We met several times in person and numerous phone calls and emails to make sure we not only had our plans straight but he wanted to make sure we got what we wanted.
At the wedding he and his assistant even brought along photos of the ideas that we wanted so they could try to figure out how to capture the images. They were very successful in doing so!
Ken did a great job at our wedding and I honestly don’t think we could have found a better photographer.

Hired Ken for my wedding day and could not be happier. Love the photos, everything that I wanted captured was captured. Ken was very personable and knew how to be in the moment with us all to get the best shots but also was not in the way of anyone. If your reading this review just go ahead and hire Ken now. You won’t regret it. Ken is a talented professional that takes his work very seriously but is also patient and kind, making the entire process very enjoyable.
Ken was wonderful to work with. He did our engagement photos, my bridal portraits and our wedding photos. All turned out better than I expected! For our engagement photos I wanted us to be in a peach orchard in bloom, which turned out to be more difficult than I had ever imagined; due to a short bloom season and the weather. But Ken was so patient and willing to work with us to make my dreams happen! Also he was such a pleasure to work with! Never did I think taking photos for over 2 hours would be fun and enjoyable but he totally made it awesome! We got some beautiful photos back from that session and knew we had absolutely picked the right photographer!
Every time when we took photos Ken showed up extra early so by the time we arrived he had already scoped out the area and thought about it all. All of our photos (engagement, my bridal portraits and our wedding) reflected not only his talent but his dedication. I love looking at the photos he captured they bring back the best feelings and memories of such a special time in our lives. Thank you Ken for sharing your talent! Ken was amazing to work with! He made us feel like we were his family. He checked in multiple times throughout the planning process & made sure to create the vision we wanted for our special day. A part of his package that we loved was a meeting about one mont ahead of time to create a "day of" timeline knowing exactly when each and every photo would be taken down to the very minutes. Any picture/scenery we wanted - he made sure we had it. He texted us a week away from our wedding & the day prior to see if there was anything we needed which was a nice touch as the bride (who is stressed to the max). Ken goes above & BEYOND!

We worked with Ken for our engagement photos last fall and he photographed our wedding this April. Ken is professional, friendly, and responsive to clients' questions and requests. He takes the time to meet with each of his clients and go through the wedding day for the photo schedule and discuss specific requests. We are pleased with the quality of our photos and happy to have worked with him. His pricing was also reasonable compared to what other photographers charge in the area. We'd recommend Ken Thomas to couples in the Charlotte region.

Ken Thomas photographed my wedding a month ago. He did such a wonderful job! He also did my bridal portraits. The entire experience was wonderful, he makes you feel so comfortable and make sure that all of what you want is done! And of course the pictures themselves or beautiful, I don’t know how I will ever choose a favorite! I would definitely recommend him for anyone in the Charlotte or surrounding areas!

Photography was one thing we would not sway on with our wedding. We wanted someone to capture our big day in a classic beautiful way. After reviewing Kens work we knew he was the guy for the job. Not only was his work exceptional, but he had a kind and sweet disposition. He was there for us, and what we wanted and or needed. Ken was absolutely AMAZING!! Talk about a guy who makes you feel like you've known him for years!! He worked around my crazy schedule multiple times, he drove all the way down to Florida for our wedding! The pictures where magazine worthy and extremely affordable too! I felt like Ken gave his all for our wedding! Not only did he do our engagement photos, he did rehearsal dinner, and our WEDDING!!! By the end of this he was sooooo much more than just a photographer who did our photos he became a great friend. His personality is awesome and we all vibe really well. If I had it all to do over again i wouldn't change a thing!!! We had such little time for pictures yet Ken made sure he didn't stop until we got them all. Weddings never go exactly how you plan but Ken never missed a beat! Amazing guy! My fiancé and I had our engagement shoot recently and he truly captured the adoration that we have for one another. Between letting us preview the photographs to making sure we were comfortable, Ken went the extra mile to make sure we were happy. And even though it was a chilly afternoon, Ken kept a high spirited smile and attitude the entire time. Stop looking and just hire this man! You won't regret it. He had us laughing all the way through our engagement session and our wedding day! AND his images are amazing - the only worry you'll have is selecting which images to print! Our wedding images captured the joy and love of the day and friends who were unable to come to the wedding viewed the gallery and said they felt they were there! He was a blast to work with and was a treasured guest at our wedding! I have no idea how he took all those pictures but they couldn't have been more beautiful!!

I cannot say enough good things about Ken and his work. He was recommended to me by multiple vendors of mine for my wedding and when I met with him and saw his work I knew he was what I was looking for in a photographer! Hurricane Matthew blew through on my wedding day and caused a lot of last minute changes with my ceremony and venue. Ken Thomas arrived early, with help, to capture as many moments of my big day as possible. He worked so seamlessly around all the chaos and managed to get the most perfect photos. I can't stop looking at my photos and swooning. I would also like to add that he is very reasonably priced, especially for the quality of work you get from him. You will not be disappointed. I would recommend him for any occasion you want quality photos of. We will be coming back to him this Spring for a shoot with our dogs!

I heard about Ken through my best friend, she just met him not long before my wedding. She knew I was looking for a great photographer and she sent me a text of his information. After that I looked him up on google, checked his website out of the photos he has on his site. Then proceeded to contact him after seeing his work. My first impression of ken was he is a talker like my mom and sister so I knew we would get along just fine. :D Ken is genuinely a very nice and friendly guy, he has helpful tips in regards to your wedding day, I thought ken was very professional in all aspects of his work. Ken graciously photographed my wedding at the last minute. (1st photographer bailed 3 weeks before the wedding, luckily it was March and not a high demand time! !) Ken had worked at the venue we chose, The Lakes a Wedding Place in Kannapolis, NC) before and was familiar with the location. He had wonderful suggestions and took my Pintrest "must haves" into consideration. We have an awesome group shot. Ken was absolutely wondeful. Some of my famiy commented on how personable he was. He has the perfect balance of getting pictures taken without being in your face obvious about it. He has wedding photography down to a science without compromising his art. He gave a reasonable expectation as to when photos would be finished and met his deadline. His pricing is extremely fair and we couldn't be happier with how they turned out. Thank you Ken!!

My fiancé and I had our engagement photo session done with Ken a few weeks ago and it was wonderful. Neither of us are “picture people” but he was able to capture photos that were better than I ever expected. And within a few minutes of shooting, we both felt at ease. Ken has a great eye for lighting and back drops and he was very open to our input throughout the process. He will be doing our wedding photos in July and I can’t wait to see them! Ken Thomas is such a wonderful photographer. I hired him as our wedding photographer after emailing about 40 photographers near my venue. As all of my vendors know, I am a bit OCD. But photography is so very important. What I was looking for was an affordable photographer for all of my needs (engagement, bridal and wedding – all at varying locations across NC), portraits and a wedding book. Ken offers a package that covers all of these needs. Most of the other photographers in the Asheville, Charlotte and Greenville SC area started their packages at excessive prices and did not include any of the extras such as portraits or a wedding book. Ken’s services and price intrigued me so I looked over his work on his website and was just blown away. I decided that I wanted pictures like that! So I hired Ken. In March 2015 we had our engagement session and had so much fun shooting our pictures. Ken is very easy going and laid back. He is very accommodating and normally works extra time on the shoots just to make sure he gets the right shoot. My bridal session was equally as fun. I was able to get the picture of a lifetime when he shot my pictures in front of the Old Well at UNC. Ken has a fantastic photographer’s eye and a wealth of creativity. You can tell he truly enjoys his job. I am looking forward to seeing the pictures of our wedding and especially our wedding book!!!

My husband and I are Marines stationed in Japan and when we were planning for the wedding, he worked well with my parents scheduling appointments and doing one-on-one talks with them in my absence. He explained how things worked and gave them insight on how he worked. When we arrived back in the states before the wedding, he was very flexible to accommodate the things I wanted done since my time was very limited. He was professional and had a great personality that mixed well with my wedding group. My groomsmen and bridesmaids also said he was great and I would definitely hire him again for other events. Excited to officially show off my pictures. He did a great job.

Ken did an amazing job with our photos. The weather hit us last minute and he was very adaptable to the change. They turned out crystal clear and the effects are beautiful. He is open to ideas and specific poses. I would recommend him to anyone. Outstanding job, Ken!

Ken was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. He did our engagement photos, bridal shoot, and wedding shoot. All along the way he was very enthusiastic, personable, and accommodating.
