Karuna was a joy to work with. My daughter clicked with her at the very 1st zoom call. Karuna immediately understood the looks my daughter was wanting. She even advised her on styling each look. I have had my makeup done on innumerable occasions, and usually have to correct a thing or two. She did my makeup for 3 events, not once did I find any faults (and I am a fault finder!) Her love for her craft, her expertise, and her professionalism all combine together to form the perfect package. My daughter and I really bonded with her. I would hire her again without question. Thank you Karuna for making my daughter so beautiful and happy on the most important event of her life.

KC is the way to go!

Karuna Chani is a miracle worker! She made me feel like an absolute princess during my wedding weekend! Karuna and Krish were so fun to work with, even at 3:30 AM when we had to start getting ready! They had me cracking up bright and early as though I was getting ready with my girlfriends! They have so much experience and were awesome about giving suggestions and tailoring my hair and makeup to my outfits, accessories, etc! My hair and makeup were even better than I could have imagined, and KC is masterful at still making you look like an elevated version of yourself (and not fake and overdone)! Our photos are absolutely stunning thanks to KC and Krish! I would recommend them to anyone!!

Bridal Look of my Wildest Dreams!

Karuna did my and my mom's makeup for my wedding a couple of weeks ago. I had total faith in Karuna since she has done my makeup in the past, but she blew even my wildest expectations out of the water. I LOVED my look, it was exactly what I wanted but even more than that. It was everything I didn't know I needed and I got so many compliments all night long. Karuna elevated my look in a way only she can. My mom was a little nervous to get her makeup done since she never does, and she looked gorgeous. She was so happy with her look and felt so beautiful all night. You really can't get any better than Karuna for your wedding. I'm so thrilled with my decision and now I just need the occasions to keep coming so I can keep going to Karuna for my looks!

Best in the biz!

Karuna Chani is a master at her craft and it is evident in all of her work. Making someone up is a talent, but to be able to translate that talent into a teachable methodology is a skill set that only a few have, and even fewer can execute.
During my one-on-one consultation, Karuna took her time demonstrating her technique, patiently repeated the lesson, and really made sure that I was absorbing what she was telling me. She went through every single piece of my existing makeup collection, including brushes/applicators, and gave me feedback about all the products that worked, and why she didn’t recommend those that wouldn’t. I'm glad that she was able to take the same products I use in my everyday routine to create a more polished and professional look, as well as translate them into a glam night look. The timing couldn’t be better with the holidays coming up! I can’t wait to practice everything she taught me, and incorporate the ‘Karuna Tap’ (as I like to call it) into my routine.
The icing on the cake? She is so sweet & real. I loved her sense of humor and ability to keep things 100 with me about the whole appointment. I can’t thank her enough, and hope to work with her again in the near future!

Must book!

Where to even begin with this review... All I can say is that hiring KC Makeup will assure you that there is literally one less thing to worry about during your wedding weekend!
First off, Karuna is very responsive and clear in all her communication. This was absolutely refreshing, as she wasn't a vendor that I ever had to chase after to get a response; instead, if there was anything that needed to be clarified, she made the effort to directly communicate with me through email or phone. Also as someone who planned my wedding without a planner, it was nice having a clear explanation of services and fees- I had absolutely no surprises before, during, or even after my wedding. Also, since the location of my wedding was non-traditional (barn wedding in the Catskills), Karuna was one of the few NYC vendors that was open to the logistical challenge and very accommodating throughout any changes.
Now, for the actual services...I don't think I can even explain in words how amazing I felt my entire weekend. Karuna and Krish were the dream team that attended to me, my MOH, and mom during the wedding weekend. As someone who is artistic and into makeup myself, I knew I wanted a vendor who shared my passion for creativity. These women are not just wedding hair and make up artists, they are TRUE ARTISTS and PERFECTIONISTS. They are up to date with trends, styles, and know what works best for every skin tone/hair type/face shape/ etc. They knew I wanted non-traditional and unique looks for all my events, and I got just that! I even trusted them with my reception look without a trial, which was a little out of my comfort zone, and boy am I glad I did- I looked and felt like a movie star! The best part was that this team was not just focused on hair/makeup. They completely styled me head to toe, using their experience about colors, fabrics, flowers, and studying details of my wedding to help me make final decisions about my draping, jewelry, etc. I just want everyone to note that this does not happen without YEARS of experience, education, and training- there is a reason these women are at the TOP of the industry!
Now, to top it all off was their personalities. I think the most relaxed parts of my weekend were when I was getting ready, and it is all due to Karuna & Krish. It truly felt like I was having my very own girlfriends helping me get ready for my wedding. They were extremely kind, honest, hilarious, and always had my best interest in mind (especially when I was getting overwhelmed at times). They went above and beyond multiple times, including making sure I was eating/drinking and that I didn't leave the room with ashy elbows (lol!). Karuna and Krish truly felt like my fairy godmothers, and I can't imagine having had anyone else during this important time in my life!

Karuna, best makeup

Karuna visited Seville as a make-up artist for a wedding in Spain and hired me for a photo shoot. She is an incredibly close and friendly woman. I could see what a great professional she is in just a few hours.

During the photo shoot she told me how important her work is and the great effort she makes to make her clients look beautiful on their wedding day.
Meeting Karuna has been one of my most rewarding things this year.

Dream Wedding Make Up Experience

My wedding seems like yesterday, and I think it will forever feel so palpable. The feeling of elation mixed with bliss, confidence, and pure joy persists even now, and I have Karuna Chani and her talented team to thank for it. She made me feel like the most important person in the world with her precise eye for details, soft yet strong touch, and ability to pull out my personality and who I am on the canvas that is the human face. On top of all of this, she and her team made every woman near and dear to me, my sisters and mom, feel exactly the same way. Everyone was glowing from the inside because of the experience Karuna and the team gifted us from the outside.

I vividly remember my mom, who is somewhat soft-spoken and shy, open up to Karuna about her fall and the way is bruised her face. With sensitivity, she made her feel so comfortable and delicately applied the make up to her tender face so she was pain-free. Each and every one of us felt at home in the team’s hands because they are so professional, positive, and fun. I also remember over 400 people waiting for me downstairs along with trigger-happy photographers and the team reduced the stress with their jokes, smiles, and get-it-down attitude. If I could turn back time and have the wedding all over again, I would pick Karuna in a heartbeat. In fact, the incredible photos just arrived, and seeing my face, my loved ones’ faces, and the light in our eyes, we are able to relive that night. I recommend Karuna to all my friends and hope our paths cross again!

Phenomenal!

I have truly never felt as beautiful as I did that day. All our family and friends continue to rave about how well done our hair, makeup, and dressing were done. Every time I look at the pictures, I tell my husband that I don't think I will ever look as beautiful as I did that day. I felt every part of my being glow from inside to out. I'm not normally the most confident person in my skin and I'm sure you may have felt that from me the morning of, but you both put me at ease with your incredible skill sets and just overall warm personalities. You're both extremely professional about your work but definitely can make those morning jitters turn into belly laughs. I appreciate the time and effort you put into not only prepping for the events themselves but in helping guide me with tips that I can use in the future as well for healthier skin and hair.

This day wasn't just about me, it was about all the people who made me who I am, and to see my mom in her element was really amazing. She never gets to take the time to be pampered and dolled up so it was nice to see her enjoy every moment. You were so amazing to the both of us I can't put into words how happy we are to have worked with such incredible women. My mom is already planning for when my brother gets married to work with you again!

I am extremely grateful I am to have had the opportunity to work with you both. I now have memories I will cherish for a lifetime! The childhood dork inside me dreaming of that beautiful wedding with the love of her life can't thank you enough for making her feel so radiant. Karuna is a perfectionist. Her work is not only gorgeous but current with beauty trends. As a bride, I had my full trust in her. I have to say that she did not disappoint. I still look back at my wedding photos and gasp! I never looked and felt more beautiful and true to myself. She didn't change my look- she enhanced it. That is what every bride can hope for. Awaiting to sit in the glam chair for my wedding events was something I was looking forward to for more than a year and a half. Karuna was literally the first vendor I called after booking my venue. I knew that there was no one else that would nail the look that I was going for. Karuna truly is an artist and professional, not to mention SO much fun to work with. She worked so well with my mom and mother-in-law - they were both so comfortable during the process of getting ready and absolutely loved their looks afterwards. (This is huge considering every time my MIL has gotten her hair and makeup done she immediately showered because she hated how she looked.) Despite having to be up at 4 am on my wedding day I was smiling from ear to ear throughout the whole process. About 15 of my girlfriends joined me while I was getting ready for the reception and we all did a champagne toast together with Karuna and Chris (the hair artist). I truly could not be happier with how I looked and am so happy to have worked with a true artist whom I call a friend now!

I had reached out to Karuna pretty last minute and She was accommodating with my schedule as she already had appts the day of my reception. She made it work and managed to drive up to CT to in time to make me look flawless! I had several events for my wedding but the day I got ready with Karuna ( which was also my last event), was the day I and everyone else thought I looked the best. Booking vendors for your wedding is always tough, there are so many options, but the hardest vendor of all time to book is your makeup artist. You literally have to trust someone you don't really know with your face which on the day of your wedding all eyes will be on. Hands down there is no better person to trust with your face than Karuna, she knows exactly what she's doing. Marrying into a more conservative family some brides are afraid that their make up artist with make them look like an entirely different person on their wedding day, and this was one of my fears. Karuna literally enhanced my features, I looked like an upgraded version of me! All throughout my event I received endless compliments on how I looked, (and not the standard "wow you look beautilful" comments but the seriously blown away "YOU LOOK AHMAZING! WHO DID YOUR MAKEUP! I NEED TO KNOW" comments) I heard a lot of "I wish I had your make up artist for my wedding" comments which just confirmed even more that I had the best of the best, Karuna is the best of the best. She was so easy to work with and adjusted to my hesitations, and didn't stop until I was perfection. I had nothing to worry about, she was on time, prepared and as professional as a vendor can get. Would I recommend Karuna? Ladies i've made it my mission to recommend Karuna to brides to be that I meet, because everyone deserves to feel the way Karuna made me feel on my special day, like absolute royalty.

If you wish to feel like a queen on your big day, then KC Makeup is your only choice as Karuna and her team will truly deliver beyond your expectations. If you’re looking for a cookie-cutter look, look elsewhere as KC-Makeup doesn’t follow trends but helps set them.

I can’t keep raving about how great I looked but, more importantly, felt on my wedding day. Karuna is a professional and an artist who clearly enjoys her craft and thrives in creating unique looks catering to each client and her special occasion. She helps push you just the right amount to get you out of your comfort zone and looking the part on your special occasion.

I had booked KC Makeup for 3 events during my wedding weekend and was in the capable hands of Karuna for makeup and Cristina for hair. Like many brides, I had the usual concerns having never had makeup and hair professionally done and wanting to look natural but unique on my wedding day. I’m so glad I left it up to Karuna and Cris as the results were impeccable. Not only was I blown away but seeing my then future husband’s “WOW” reaction during our first look pretty much summed up the fabulous job they had done and erased any doubts I had up until that point. All my guests were amazed at how fabulous – flawless - I looked at each event. My makeup was not caked on and my hair looked and felt natural, and I didn’t have any issues for hours on end, which is a huge plus for an Indian wedding.

Brides-to-be: Karuna is going to help guide you in the right direction as she and her team have a trained eye and know what will work on you as well as on camera so leave it to them. TRUST THEM. AND, Karuna will get you ready on time – probably even early – which is so important for your big day! Karuna did a makeover for me and taught me how to apply makeup. She understood that i prefer a more natural look but definitely need to enhance it a little for evening. She was very patient and great at showing me how to use the brushes to achieve the look i wanted. She would show me on one side of my face and then have me do the other side to make sure i understood how to achieve the look i wanted. She also showed me different ways to do my makeup ...smokey eyes, dramatic eyeliner etc.
I feel much more confident and probably book another session now to see what else she can teach me.

Not only did she make me look flawless during all my events (still getting compliments!) but she gave me some fantastic tips on how to prep my skin which I still use to this day. It made me realize how little I know about applying my own makeup! So about 2 years ago I took a private makeup lesson with KC in her studio in NYC. It was well worth it. I literally showed her every single product I use and she walked me through what would be best for my skin. I def see the difference, ESP in pictures! KC will always be my go-to for makeup! My sister is getting married next year and she has hired her as well! So excited to get my makeup done once again with her!

Karuna has become a part of my official Glam Squad. I honestly can't imagine hosting any other event without her being in charge of my makeup! I was lucky enough to work with Karuna during my wedding in 2010 which happened to be in India. She was there at the same time and worked around her hectic schedule to fit me in. Weddings can be so stressful, especially in another country. Karuna walked in,broke out her Hindi and got the hotel staff to get good lighting and mirrors and basically handled it all in order to have the perfect atmosphere to get dressed in! It was amazing! This was the first time I'd really even met her and she was all about making me feel comfortable. So now the make up...OMG...shes a genius! I've never felt more glamorous then I did that night of my cocktail party. She went bold with my eye makeup which was new to me but it really worked with my gown which she knew would the moment she saw what i was wearing! She also worked with my sister who is the worlds pickiest person. Every time she has gotten her make up done professionally it has resulted in her washing her face and doing it herself. Karuna was up for the challenge and for the first time my sister had a smile on her face once her makeup was done! We worked with Karuna again recently for my baby shower. Once again she wowed us with her skills! She introduced to me a bold lip color which I thought I could never pull off and now I love! I highly recommend Karuna as a make up artist for any event. She is incredibly easy to work with and 110% reliable! You definitely want her on your Glam Squad too!

KC make-up and I go a long way back. For a while now, I've been dealing with Karuna Chani and I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you for tirelessly sending me all those beauty products that aren't available in India, especially Guinot which has done wonders for my skin. Not only did she send the perfect skin care, she's even passed on some of her make-up tricks which make me look fabulous every time I go out, not to mention I look much younger too. Living in a city where people flock to a salon to get their make-up done every weekend, I'm quite lucky to be able to do a fantastic job just through Karuna's tips. Furthermore, I make it a point to hire Karuna whenever she happens to be in Delhi and I have to say, it was money well spent each time. I don't think I could even consider going to any other make up artist when Karun is around! She knows my skin better than me and understands exactly what will work on me. KC makeup is the best! She did my makeup for my Mehndi (pre-wedding party) and I was ecstatic with my look. Not only did she do my makeup, she was also instrumental in styling me from head to toe! Being in the wedding industry my self, you see a lot of things happen at once and every time we had the opportunity to work together, Karuna and team always showed up on time, always did a phenomenal job on the bride and made the process so much smoother for the bride and her family.

I had the pleasure of working with Karuna Chani on my wedding day! I have to be honest, while I am not a make up artist, I am a mini pro at make up/skin care (something I always had an interest in since I was a little girl) so my expectations are even higher than the average person. This is a space I know well, and my aunt is also a top notch make artist. Having mentioned that, I still went forward with Karuna. Karuna was my hair/makeup artist for our engagement shoot and wedding, and I cannot speak more highly of her! She was really helpful as we were discussing options for different hair and makeup styles for the big day and what would be best for me. She had a lot of great input and ideas, and really just made everything so EASY (and what bride doesn't want that?!).

On the day of our wedding, Karuna and her team showed up at the hotel on time and got to work on my bridesmaids and myself. Everyone was friendly, professional, and worked quickly but without making us feel rushed.

My makeup didn't budge the whole day and never have I seen my hair so awesomely big and full. Lets be real. THE WOMAN HAS SKILLS. I definitely would recommend her to any bride. THANK YOU KC MAKEUP!

Having Karuna do my bridal make up was always something I wanted. I have been following her work for years and learned so much from her because she is extremely knowledgeable in skincare and make up, specifically for South Asian women. Planning a wedding during a pandemic was not easy at all, especially when you have to postpone your date, but Karuna was great to work with. During the trial, she explained each step and the reason behind it, and also constantly reassured me on a lot of things I was worried about. Wedding weekends are always stressful for a bride, but I felt none of that while being in Karuna’s chair. And if I did feel stressed, she took the time to calm me down and help me relax. One situation that sticks out is how she treated my Mom the whole weekend, specifically the morning of the wedding. Karuna took the time and made it a point to help her relax and not feel stressed. Her colleague, Elena, who styled our hair also was a huge help in making my Mom and I feel comfortable.. I couldn’t be more grateful for how they treated us, they both made us feel so special and also made sure we were mentally present in the moment so we could enjoy our time.

And to state the obvious, I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED all of my looks and couldn’t be happier with how everything worked out with Karuna and Elena. They both helped me feel so good about myself and that is something I will forever be grateful for. This experience was amazing. Karuna is the best in this game and I wish everyone has a chance to sit in her chair.

My 1x1 makeup session with Karuna was amazing and so helpful for this
tired mom of twins! Although I had a previous 1x1 with her several
years back I had wanted to revamp my techniques and just get some
general advice for other productls that may benefit me! Makeup is
truly something that makes a person feel beautiful and with my hectic
schedule of being a mom to twin girls, working, moving houses and
states, I just lost myself and this session helped me get my groove
back and remind me that self care is important! I have always followed
her on Instagram and gotten a lot of the products she recommends. I
truly felt like she invests in her clients and wouldn't just try to
sell a product because they support her, but rather she recommends a
product only if she feels it works for the client which is so
refreshing! I was just simply amazed at how she took inventory of my
makeup and told me honestly, girl you have the basics, you dont need
to invest in a lot more which was so nice to hear that I was on the
right track even though years had gone by since our last consultation!

Grateful to have met Karuna

It was a total win for me as it perfectly addressed the issues I was having. I came in with a ton of makeup but not sure of it matching my skin colour and undertone and having doubles. I am fairly decent with makeup techniques and I learnt some great tips to add on to my process.

The session diversified my shade range to colours more suited to my skin tone. Understanding undertones and my own undertone was really insightful. I’ve heard this undertone word been thrown around so much lately by every beauty blogger and youtuber and I just couldn’t wrap my head around it. I was amazed at what my face looked like with products I already owned and with half the products I generally used.

I had the biggest problem finding a great red lip shade that I was happy with and we found one in my own stack lipsticks and went over the proper application method.

I’m truly grateful for having done this class. I loved the fact that I wasn’t told to buy anything more but to stop buying makeup for a while as I had pretty much everything I would need for the rest of my life.

Karuna will tell it to you as it is, no sugar coating and fluff. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work! I truly wish I had known of her when I was getting married! Well, better late than never 😊

I cant put into words how beautiful KC and Krish made me feel on literally the happiest day of my life. I know it sounds so cliche but I was generally so happy that day. A lot of which had to do with the way I looked and felt thanks to KC!
KC was way more than just my MU. For that day, she was my psychiatrist, best friend and sister wrapped into one!

Karuna was a pleasure to work with. She is very knowledgeable in her field and well-informed of the new trends in makeup along with what will look good on each specific client. She did makeup for my sister's wedding and her work was stunning! We all had different looks for each of the 3 events, complimenting our outfits of course, and all looked gorgeous. We were also able to tell her features we wanted to accentuate and she did a great job accommodating.

Karuna also offers makeup lessons, so I did a session post seeing her work firsthand at the wedding. I love that she was able to teach me how to properly and effectively apply makeup using my existing products and also help me better understand what colors are meant for my skin tone and complexion (which can be difficult for us ethnic girls). She recommended specific brands that cater better for ethnic skin tones for when I do buy new products. Karuna was even able to guide me in a skin care regimen and provide me with product recommendations, tips and tricks for healthier, better looking skin. I truly felt my session with Karuna was customized to my needs and what I wanted to focus on, which I communicated to her prior and she was easily able to incorporate into the lesson. I can't wait to do another, more advanced makeup lesson with her!

Karuna is personable, experienced in her field and just all around great to work with. I had a great time with her both encounters. I would definitely recommend Karuna to others looking for bridal and event makeup or makeup lessons, though keep in mind her services are a bit pricey.

I recently had Karuna do my makeup for a 3 day/4 event wedding in Atlanta. every look was different and unique and perfect for the location and vibe I was going for. I truly felt like a princess the whole weekend. she has a calming demeaner. she made the getting ready one of my most memorable parts of the wedding. I couldn't be happier that my outside matched how I felt on the inside that most special weekend. thank you Karuna!!

Karuna is absolutely professional and above all, she listens to exactly what you want. She is organized and very responsive. She may not be the most inexpensive artist, but that is because she is very talented at what she does and you don't have to worry whether you will like her makeup which is priceless for a special event such as a wedding!
