I was married this past October 11th and purchased my wedding gown at Kathryns Bridal in Crystal Lake, IL and could not have been happier. My gown needed lots of alterations, but their wonderful seamstress, Anna , worked magic I didn't think was possible. The shop has a great selection of gowns and bridal accessories but feels like a boutique. Everyone there treated me so beautifully and on my day I walked down that aisle feeling like a confident princess. Thank you , Kathryn's Bridal and Anna! -

I couldn't recommend Kathryn's enough! Lanna was absolutely amazing! I came in three different times because I was very indecisive. Each time Lanna was perfectly understanding and really helped me find the perfect dress that felt just like me! They have an amazing selection and were constantly getting in new gowns. I was hesitant with my veil as my train was so long i needed a really long veil but wanted one with a lot of lace. Lanna came from the back with one that had just came in and it was perfect! The alterations were perfect and made me feel confident to walk down the isle. If you want a calm, fun and not rushed time picking out your wedding gown go to Kathryns! -

Thank you, Kathryn's for helping me secure the most perfect dress for my big day!! The second I put it on and the train was flipped around, I knew that it was the dress for me. It made me so emotional because I knew my late grandma was there with me, whispering, telling me it was the one and just how beautiful I looked. I went to a couple of different bridal stores, and the second we stepped foot into Kathryn's, we knew we were going to find "the one." Finding “THE” dress is a stressful experience for every bride. However, all of the staff at Kathryn’s Bridal made sure that I felt beautiful, confident, and excited for my wedding day. When I came in to try on dresses, I had a very vague idea of what I was looking for. Once I started to explain my vision to Kathryn and her staff, each dress that they pulled was closer and closer to what I pictured myself wearing on my wedding day. The last dress that I tried on that day was the one that I ended up saying “yes” to, and I felt so grateful, emotional, and supported in that moment. When my dress arrived a few months later, I was terrified that it wouldn’t fit me (a fear that every bride experiences). Once I relayed how I felt, Kathryn was so kind and understanding, and I was able to come try it on once or twice before alterations began, which was a total relief. The alterations process was also seamless (no pun intended) and I felt assured after every appointment that my dress would be absolutely stunning and fit perfectly on my wedding day… And it definitely did. Shopping for my dress was a blast, they had so many to choose from and my consultant was patient and helpful, helping me find the perfect dress. I would recommend Kathryn’s Bridal to anyone!! Everyone I spoke with before my appointment was extremely helpful in making sure they had an idea of the styles/designer's/specific dresses I was looking at. When I arrived, everyone was so inviting and made me feel so comfortable. When I got into the dressing room, there were at least 10 dresses pulled from links I had sent them before my appointment! I did not feel rushed, I had plenty of time to talk through my options, and was given fantastic advice. This made my day feel so special and allowed me to find the one very easily! The expansive selection here is unmatched! This is the place to go if you are looking for the best dress shopping experience! -

Our family has gone to Kathryn’s Bridal almost 10 years. We have found both of my daughter’s wedding dresses, both also got their bridal party dresses, a family member got their prom dress, mother of the bride dresses and now my wedding dress and I wouldn’t have wanted to go anywhere else. They are a small-town feel but they have SO many choices of dresses! They are super friendly, very helpful and the seamstress is out-of-this-world with her skills! She can transform a dress into something that fits you more appropriately, it’s just amazing. I have never yet had a bad experience. I would definitely recommend this shop!!! -

Fair Godmothers! That is what this bridal salon is! I went in newly pregnant worried about a wedding dress and they took that worry and allowed me to feel beautiful in every dress I tried on. When I was postpartum, the seamstress was my biggest cheerleader, allowing me to go down to last minute, because she knew losing the baby weight the natural way was important to me. The staff was an absolute delight to work with. They are knowledgeable and genuinely sincere. They have so many different styles of dresses to choose from and can find your dream dress just by some pictures and talking with you. They help you step by step and are great at communicating what is needed next. I will forever love Kathryn's bridal! -

Felt no pressure
If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Everything about Kathryn's Bridal exceeded all of my expectations. It was a one stop shop for me and found my dream wedding dress during my first visit. The entire staff is so warm and welcoming and treat you like family. From making my appointments to visiting the store for various try ons to answering all of my questions in between, Kathryn's Bridal definitely knows what they are doing. They have so much knowledge and experience being able to listen to what you are looking for and being able to select the exact dresses that match your desires. I could not recommend Kathryn's Bridal enough! -

Wonderful experience
So happy with my beautiful wedding dress!!! I stumbled upon Kathryn's after having a not so great experience at another bridal shop. I searched the dress I loved from the other shop and saw Kathryn's had it in stock. They were able to get me right in and I absolutely loved my experience there. My stylist was so down to earth and listened to what I wanted. I tried on some other dresses but ended up picking the original dress I called about. I never knew how important a bridal experience was until having such amazing success at Kathryn's. My stylist even knew to order my dress for the "shorter" bride which ended up saving me alteration costs! Their seamstress made my dress fit like a glove!!!! My dress was so beautiful, I had so many compliments on my wedding day, one friend said looked like a Disney princess, lol.
That was all made possible by Kathryn's. I'm so grateful to have found them. -

I had such a wonderful experience shopping at Kathryn’s. The staff were friendly and made me feel comfortable when shopping. They have an amazing selection of dresses in different styles and price points. We also did alterations through them and the seamstress was attentive to what I wanted tweaked and did a beautiful job. There was an issue with gems falling off the hair piece we bought and they fixed it right away. Cannot recommend enough!

I always knew I didn’t want a traditional wedding dress and struggled to find places that offered dresses that were not white and in my size range. I am so thankful I was able to find my dream black wedding dress at Kathryn’s! Their team was amazing, from picking out my dress with Lanna to getting it altered in-house with Laura. They made a situation that I thought was going to be stressful, fun! Kathryn’s is a dream. Warmth, sparkles, a relaxed & peaceful atmosphere… and the most BEAUTIFUL DRESSES literally everywhere! Christine was lovely and had a calm and genuine energy. She offered for my mom and I to browse the dresses first, get a feel for what I was drawn to, and let us choose the first 8 dresses to try on. This was a huge relief compared to other bridal shops where they insist on picking everything for you, because I knew what I did and didn’t want and didn’t have to waste time trying on things I knew weren’t a fit. Christine did suggest several dresses that were on point, but she wasn’t pushy about them. The dressing room is spacious and comfortable. Literally every dress was gorgeous, and I left so happy knowing we found the perfect dress for me. Thank you, Christine and the whole Kathryn’s team for creating this gem close to home! -

I have been shopping at Kathryn’s bridal for as long as I can remember for prom or homecoming so it was a no brainer that I was going to start here for my wedding dress. This was the only bridal shop I ended up going to as I was lucky enough to find my dream dress on my first shopping trip. They had a wonderful selection of dresses- Cinderella dresses, lacey dresses, sexy & slim dresses, traditional dresses, everything you could imagine. I was lucky enough to get my dress from their sample sale which was a dream come true because I am not sure I could have afforded that designer dress otherwise. I was able to get a matching veil there too. I also did all my alterations with them and that process was also wonderful. The seamstress is so kind and sweet, she made everything stress free, and her work is phenomenal. She even found a bead to fill in one that was missing from my dress. If you are looking for a one of a kind experience and dresses, I suggest Kathryns! And a big thank you to all the wonderful and helpful staff there! -

I live in San Diego, I had gone to 5 local shops and tried on close to 40 dresses and not finding anything close to what I wanted.
My parents live in Illinois, I was going to visit them and decided to look while there.
The ladies at Katheryns were so sweet and patient with my mom and I. And I ended up finding my dress there! It was amazing! They ordered it for me and even shipped it to San Diego for me. They were amazing and I definitely recommend them!!! -

Kathryns has the most gorgeous dresses I have ever seen! The stylist I worked with knew the best style for my body and spent time getting to know what I had envisioned for myself. It’s hard to pick a dress when you are in love with everything you try on, but once I put the one dress on I knew it was the one! I could not have had a better experience from the bridesmaids dresses, to how hard the seamstress works to make your dress as perfect as it can be. I already told my husband we need to have another wedding on our 25th anniversary so I can pick out another wedding dress! -

I had a wonderful experience with Kathryns! When I first tried on dresses, before officially landing on the one, they were super helpful with bringing me various options in the style that I had envisioned for myself and did not make me feel pressured to try on dresses that I didn’t like or dresses that weren’t my style. The dress I finally said yes to was absolutely beautiful and just what I had been looking for! They even helped me customized even more to my liking by making suggestions on certain things I could add to the dress to make it pop even more such as the straps and belt. My seamstress, Laura, through kathryns was great as well! Very professional and accommodating! She made sure my dress was absolutely perfect on me before I officially picked it up before the big day! She ensured the dress was comfortable enough to wear all day for the wedding and added a bustle which was barely noticeable at all! I loved the way my dress turned out it made me feel like a princess on my big day and I’m extremely thankful for everyone who helped me with my dress at kathryns! The shop is super cute too if you’re looking for a more boutique style shop. I Highly recommend checking out kathryns when looking for your wedding dress! -

Amazing Experience and Dress Selection!
Everything about my experience with Kathryns was fantastic! The people there made us feel so welcome, and they were so patient the entire time. I loved that they allowed us to take a look around for dresses ourselves, as well as had some picked out to match my vision! I ended up going with a completely different style dress than I had anticipated because there were just so many beautiful dresses I had to try a bunch and ended up falling in love. Every fitting was very quick, easy, and you can tell Laura takes a lot of time and energy to make the dress perfect. I also ended up buying my accessories from there which were beautiful. I received so many compliments on my dress and would recommend Kathryns to any, and every bride! -

As for most we originally were supposed to get married in July 2020 and had to move it. Kathryns is amazing and so are all of the team members. They really go out of their way to make your experience so wonderful. I found that a lot of places had team members coming up to you being a little pushy with what you’re looking for wanting and sometimes I just didn’t have that answer I just was looking, I never felt like that a Kathryns. I was allowed to decide on my own I wasn’t being pushed into purchasing a dress and they never rushed me once. I ended up purchasing my gown from here and I am currently having it altered there as well, by Laura. I’ve had my fair share of needing dresses altered, I have never met someone who is so helpful, passionate, and truly takes the time to listen to what you want or vision you’re dressed to be on your day. She has so much knowledge I find myself thinking of questions I have before my appointments to ask her because she is just been so helpful and informational. My experience at Kathryns has really been amazing, so amazing I’m going to be extremely sad and miss them all when it’s all said and done. I will refer and recommend Any bride I know who wants to truly embrace this experience and soak in every positive moment of it to go to Kathryns! -

I was brought to Kathryn's by my aunt's and mother to just get an idea of what kind of dresses I would like to try on, never realizing that I would find my dream dress. I'm very bold, independent, outspoken and classic. I had tried on several dresses and was getting down to the last few when my 7 year old daughter pull a dress, as I slipped into it my daughter started to cry and said "mommy this is it", she ran out to my aunt's and mom and whispered "my mommy looks like a princess, this is the one". As I walked out to show everyone I saw my self and started to cry b/c I knew this was my wedding dress. Everyone at Kathryn's was very kind and professional, helping me pick out my hair piece and earrings to match my dress. They helped with every step of the way,. They found the ability to make everyone feel special while I was finding my dress. They kept me calm and relaxed. I would recommend them to anyone who wants an outstanding experience. -

I chose Kathryn's Bridal because they're a local business, are LGBTQ-friendly, and carry plus-size sample sizes. I could not be happier with the service I received there. I worked with Lanna, who is super knowledgeable, practical, helpful, and friendly. She helped relieve my anxiety about dress shopping and made the experience fun for me and my three guests. I felt safe with the covid precautions they had in place. My first experience with Kathryn's began as a bridesmaid, so I knew when my own wedding came, Kathryn's was exactly where I needed to go to find my dream dress.
The boutique itself is exquisite. When you open the doors you are truly swept off your feet by the incredible selection of gorgeous dresses and designers to choose from. The staff comprises some of the most sincere and kind women I have ever met. From the consultants to Laura, the in-house seamstress, who is nothing short of magical. She makes every dress feel and look like the designer was thinking of you, and you alone when designing your dress. Not to mention Kathryn herself, she is exceptional and her kindness is unparalleled. She truly cares about each bride who walks through her doors and always greets you with grace and a smile.
My bridesmaids purchased their gorgeous Bill Levkoff dresses from Kathryn's and were all absolutely show stopping. We even had Kathryn's provide the tuxedos for my husband, groomsman, and father of the bride and groom - the selection was phenomenal and they all looked so handsome!
Kathryn's continues to amaze, even after your wedding, with their gown preservation. Now I have my beautiful Enzoani gown in a gorgeous box with a viewing window. Thank you Kathryn, and the staff of Kathryn's Bridal, for playing such a significant part in making our wedding so spectacular!

My mom and I came into Kathryn's feeling a bit defeated after I had tried on what felt like a million dresses earlier that day and not finding a dress that I loved. Melissa was my consultant for the appointment and she was awesome! My mom and I were able to browse and pull some dresses that we thought I'd like and just by seeing what we pulled, Melissa was able to figure out my likes and dislikes immediately!
Lana was also great when I called a few days after ordering after having some doubt about the color of my dress (who know there were so many shades of white!). She suggested I come into the store and take another look at my dress just to make sure I was 100% set on my dress. When I arrived at the store, she quickly pulled my dress and helped me get back into it and fall in love with it all over again.
Editing after my wedding because I just have to talk about Laura with alterations. She was INCREDIBLE!! She was able to work with me to ensure I was able to come in for fittings whenever I was in town as I moved out of state during the planning process and was limited on how often I could go in. When I say that she’s a miracle worker, I truly mean it! If you buy your dress at Kathryns, do your alterations with Laura! -

My experience here at Kathryns was beyond words. First off I live about 2 hours away from the store and I will say that the drive was totally worth it. From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed. This was my first time shopping for dresses and I was overwhelmingly nervous. I use to be really fit and active and was a size 6 and I got hurt and depressed and gained over 55ibs, so needless to say I am about twice the dress size now. I had been struggling with a negative body image of myself because I had always been “fit” and here I was years later trying on dresses. And I wasn’t how I envisioned myself to look like when I came to go dress shopping. I was scared things wouldn’t fit and that I would have a melt down trying on dresses because I hated how I looked physically. I didn’t want my negativity to ruin what should be the best pre wedding experience. I got to Kathryns and we meet our consultant Anna, and wow she is amazing. Given all that I just said about feeling self conscious and overall not good about myself. She made me feel so comfortable and at ease. She listened to everything I said and made me feel like a princess. She had a very mother like manner to her and I even shared with her my feelings and she reassured me and made me feel good. At the end I stared at the mirror and cried, not out of sadness but out of happiness because Fir the first time in a long time I actually felt beautiful. She helped me feel beautiful and I said yes to the dress! Thank you Anna for everything . You did more than just help me find my dress. Would definitely recommend to everyone -

Kathryn's was such a great experience for my first time shopping for my wedding dress. Lanna was very helpful and honest with helping me pick out my dress. After showing her a couple pictures I found online she knew exactly what I was looking for and I ended up finding my dress in record time. I cannot express how grateful I am that my mom made me drive an hour and a half from Milwaukee to come dress shopping at Kathryn’s Bridal! We had been to several other bridal stores and had no luck finding a dress; I was beginning to hate dress shopping and was convinced that my dream dress did not exist. Anna and Monica helped me during my appointment and were so easy to talk to, very attentive, and made the shopping experience fun! They listened to what I had envisioned my dress looking like and didn’t push me to try on dresses I didn’t care for. I tried on (and said yes) to the very first dress that I tried on at Kathryn’s! Totally worth the drive from Milwaukee and would definitely recommend to future brides!
Bonus: They offer deals for your bridal party and Anna also does the invitations!
EXTRA BONUS: Their peach moscato is amazing! :) -

Nothing but amazing things to say about Kathryn's! I drove 2 hours from WI to try on a dress I had my eye on from the beginning (Badgley Mischka), and every experience driving down was one of a kind. Kathryn's makes you feel at home, they make you feel comfortable, and like you can be yourself (and they treat you like you are friends/family!) - in a time that can be rather stressful (dress shopping/wedding planning), this was so refreshing and wonderful. Of course I found my dream dress, but more than that - the consultants, and the seamstress Laura really are what makes this 5/5 stars.
Laura (the seamstress) was fantastic and is amazing at what she does. There were a TON of quirks that needed to be done to my very layered, HEAVY ballgown - and she knocked it out of the park, all while making my mom and I laugh and have a great time during every visit! Not only did she make my dress fit me like a glove (which is tough with how much fabric it had, the heaviness, AND it being strapless!)--it felt like it was truly made for me. I already miss coming down to IL for my dress fittings with Laura. She did fantastic work and the beauty of my dress and my wedding day is really all thanks to her and her expertise. THANK YOU Kathryn's! -

We shopped their dash for the dress sale and were absolutely impressed with all the great deals! All the wonderful staff made sure to check in on us and make sure there wasn’t anything we needed.
