Michelle is Wonderful!

I have worked with Michelle for both professional photos and wedding photos and I have been pleased both times. She heard my concerns, and then I put my trust in her -- I was not disappointed. I love how she accented my favorite features, yet I didn't feel like I was wearing a mask. I highly recommend her, and she will be my go-to makeup gal for future needs!

Beautiful wedding makeup

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Michelle for my bridal makeup, and I cannot recommend her enough! As a first-time ever client getting professional makeup, I initially requested a “soft glam” look, which actually turned out a bit more intense than I had imagined. Michelle was open to feedback, so I requested a second trial to make sure we got everything perfect, and it was an absolute success! She took the time to help me identify and correct the few issues with color and placement that I had from the first trial, and she patiently addressed every concern I had. The result was a stunning makeup look that felt like a perfect representation of my vision – a beautiful, elevated version of myself, but still very "me." My makeup looked flawless and I felt absolutely glamorous on my wedding day. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the experience.

I cannot say enough good things about Michelle- this review will not do her justice! I am beyond thankful for Michelle and her talent. She is so good at makeup. I hardly ever wear makeup at all, so it was really important for me to look like myself. She was able to take what I wanted (when I couldn't even really put it into words) and work her magic to make me feel beautiful!

Michelle brings such a bright and happy spirit to her work. For the trial, her studio is so funny and happy. She was able to make all the girls smile and we had so much fun chatting with her. She is so good at what she does and I am so grateful for how she helped me and my bridesmaid enhance our beauty! I recommend Michelle so highly for all your beauty needs!

This Lady Is A MUST!!!

When looking for a makeup artist I wanted someone with a bubbly personality and was specialized in natural look. I wont the jackpot with Karen Michelle. She is a MUST. I had no idea about what type of makeup for my wedding day except I knew natural colors. My mom never wears makeup and she had no ideas either. Karen worked her magic and our looks came out great. Her amazing personality, charm, and ease about herself helped make my day more special due to the fact I did not have bridesmaids. If I have any events in the future you can be sure I will be looking for her again.

Spectacular Make-Up Artist!

Michelle Clark is such an awesome and sweet make-up artist! She did my make-up for my wedding day and it came out amazing! Her make-up trial was so helpful, too. She listened to all my ideas and really took the time do everything perfectly! She made me, my bridesmaids, my mom, mother-in-law, and even a few friends look and feel so beautiful, too. Wonderfully Talented Makeup Artist for any occassion

Michelle is a fantastic and talented makeup artist. My makeup plans fell through soon before my wedding on 5/20/22 and I contacted Michelle with a referral from a friend. She was quick to respond, timely, and super flexible with any changes I made as the day approached. Her work is stunning and I couldn't have been happier with how I looked on my wedding day. Many people asked about my makeup and the pictures were flawless. She is so easy to talk to and immediately put me at ease the first time we met. Very talented, bubbly personality

Michelle did my makeup for my June wedding in Raleigh. From the moment I met her, I was excited to work with her. During my trial, she listened to my input and made changes to make sure we had the look just right. On the day of the wedding, the whole bridal party loved working with her. Just Hire Her! She is the best decision!

I have worked with Michelle on multiple occasions and cannot recommend her enough. She is genuine, and down to earth, and will nerd out with you on all things Disney, Harry Potter, and the 90s. Her skills with makeup are remarkable! The natural or dramatic glow she gives you (depending on what you would like) is out of this world. Not only does she do it effortlessly, but when it is on your face, it feels like you aren't wearing any makeup at all. I don't know how she does it, but what I do know, is you need to hire her.

Michelle is Phenomenal!

Michelle provided wedding day makeup for me, my bridesmaids, my mother, and mother-in-law. She couldn't have been more lovely to work with, and we actually had a TON of fun chatting in the bridal suite was everyone was getting made up.

One of the things I appreciated MOST about Michelle - she very much wants to understand what suits you and what look you're trying to achieve. I wanted something fairly neutral - I told her I didn't want to look terribly made up - just wanted to look like the best version of me... and she delivered! I have a couple pictures from my wedding day that I refer to as "Disney princess pictures" - I still look like me, but an AMAZINGLY PRETTY version! She was also very receptive to going super low-key with my Asian mama and my mother in law - both of whom aren't used to wearing much make up. They both looked beautiful, but Michelle kept them to a look they were both comfortable with.

I would work with Michelle again in a heartbeat and absolutely recommend her!

So Amazing and Fun!

Wow, where do I start with this amazing woman! Michelle is so fun to be around and easy to love. She is funny, patient, down-to-earth, and so willing to go above and beyond to make everything exactly how you want it! She is extremely knowledgable in her field of make-up and also so great at hair! My hair stylist sort of last minute could not make the wedding, so Michelle stepped in and did it all! Also, our ceremony venue changed after booking Michelle, and she had to make do with even less time than anticipated the morning of the wedding to work on my face and hair and help my bridesmaids! She got up earlier than any of us to make it happen. Not to mention, the morning of the wedding while we were just waking up in the airbnb, THE POWER WENT OUT! And this amazing woman started doing make-up by phone flashlight on the bridesmaids (flawlessly may I add) until the power returned! She was the person who stayed with me in the bridal suite to the very end right before I walked down the aisle and continued to be with me throughout the morning for any touch-ups that were needed. Michelle is your missing wedding day piece!

I'll start with the reason why you're probably here. Michelle is going to make you and your wedding party look absolutely stunning and flawless on your wedding day. She has now done my makeup for two weddings, and every wedding since I've sorely missed her and her abilities! She understands how to create a natural look, but she is also skilled at vamping up the look if that's what you want, too. I ended both nights with a fresh face that looked incredible even after one wedding took place in 100-degree heat. When it is my turn to get married, Michelle will be my girl!

I want to note as well that she effortlessly slides into the group setting, brings positive energy, and has fantastic pep talks for each member of your wedding party if needed. When the morning is hectic and the scheduling is paramount, she's going to stay on track while adding to the fun.

Hire her for her talent and also her personality!

I’m not sure how Michelle does it, but she’s this incredible combination of someone who is STELLAR at the technical side of her job - and she’s also the most fun and encouraging person to spend time with.

She reads a room well and she knows if you need her to be clam and relaxed, and she also knows when you need her to bring the energy and hype you up.

I am very careful with my recommendations to friends and colleagues when they ask to be connected, because I want to make sure they are well taken care of. I recommend Michelle with flying colors!

Michelle goes above and beyond for all of her clients, and I happily (and with great excitement) recommend her with rave reviews when anyone reaches out to me for hair and make-up suggestions.

She has worked with friends who have been on a video shoot all day, friends getting married, and she’s also thrived in doing hair and make-up for high school seniors. I recommend her to everyone!

And since we’re still in the middle of a pandemic, I feel that it’s also good to note that she is so professional and puts you at ease with all the safety measures she has in place.

Ahhhmazing!

Having been in the cosmetic industry for over 12 years I can be very picky as to who does my makeup. I am SO grateful that Michelle was recommenced to me by a photographer. I cannot rave enough about Michelle, not only is she so fun to talk to, she is also one of the most talented makeup artists I've ever had do my makeup and hair. You Need to Hire Michelle!!

Michelle is absolutely incredible.

I have never felt more beautiful than I did after working with her. As someone who does not wear much make-up at all, I was nervous about having my make-up done for the wedding and still feeling like myself. There is no one I would have rather worked with based on that fear. She helped me feel like the most glamorous and beautiful version of myself on the day of my wedding as well as for my engagement photos. She is an artist that understands people and sees them for who they are and who they can be.

The experience that vendors help create for you on a wedding day is just as important as their work. Michelle’s presence made us feel so comfortable, happy and engaged. She is easy going, professional, and a blast to work with. She is hilarious, observant, calm, attentive and caring. She arrived promptly, stuck to the schedule and all of my bridesmaids LOVED her. Words cannot describe how great Michelle is! She is a phenomenal makeup artist who is extremely charismatic and helps make you feel your best! Wedding Day Make up!

I highly recommend Michelle Clark for her make up artistry. She did the makeup for my daughter’s wedding. Michelle did my daughter’s bridal makeup as well as makeup for the six bridesmaids. Michelle was super easy to work with. She was very accommodating especially since my daughter and I didn’t live in Raleigh at the time of her bridal trial or wedding. Michelle set up a timeline for getting everyone’s makeup done and all makeup was completed on time! It was such a fun time for all the girls. It was also a completely stress free time!

The best!!

Michelle was fantastic to work with! She did the make up for me and my bridesmaids for my wedding this past summer. Amazing exerience with Michelle!

Michelle was awesome! I do not wear a lot of make-up, so I was worried that I might not feel like myself when I was all "done-up" for my wedding. Michelle listened to my worries and created a wedding make-up look that was perfect in photos and that I loved and felt 100% comfortable in! Stop what you're doing and hire Michelle!

I couldn't be more pleased with Michelle's work for my wedding. I don't wear a lot of makeup regularly and consequently, didn't even know how to describe my desired look, but somehow she understood me.

Our practice session was relaxed and fun (her studio has the most unique backdrop for all your insta photo shoot needs!) and I immediately felt like Michelle and I were kindred spirits. On the day of the wedding, Michelle showed up early and she provided a relaxed, jovial vibe to what could've otherwise been a stressful day. Having her primp me for the special occasion was such a great experience that I invited her to stay for the wedding ceremony -- and she did!

Fabulous & amazing! A gazillion stars!

I don't know very much about makeup and don't usually wear a lot, and I have very sensitive skin so I was really nervous about looking over done or having a reaction. I HIGHLY recommend the trial before the day of- because it was amazing to feel so relaxed knowing how beautiful she would help me to look. This removed so much stress from the day! She also very kindly suggested fake eyelashes which at first I was like, mmmm probably not- but she very gently persuaded me to try them at the trial -just to see- and I am SO happy she did because I LOVED them. Really listened to what I wanted and DELIVERED!

Michelle was absolutely incredible to work with. I don't wear makeup in my normal life and so have had some experiences in the past with other people where I don't feel like my self. Michelle really listened to what I wanted and was so perfect in making the look exactly what I wanted. Also, we had originally talked about a half-up hair do. On the day of, I asked if we could do fully up and she was incredibly accommodating and did the most amazing job I've ever seen. You can not go wrong with her. Also, she is so sweet and great fun to talk with.

Michelle is such a gem! She has the best personality and is SO talented! She did my makeup for my bridal portraits and wedding, and the makeup for all of my bridesmaids. Michelle = Makeup Magician

First of all, you should ask Michelle to join you on your wedding day simply to have her in your bridal suite with you and your girls to hang out with because she is just that great.
But in all seriousness, aside from being a fantastic person and exceptionally fun to be around, she is an AMAZING make up artist. She is truly a master of her craft and does incredible work. I really enjoyed working with her. She was responsive in our initial communication, has very reasonable prices, and the outcome cannot be matched. I am so glad I asked her to do the makeup for me & my girls--it looked flawless in person and in photographs. From a few pictures and questions she was able to get exactly the look I was going for. Given the opportunity to work with her again, I would 100% do so without hesitation.

Honestly, do yourself a favor and hire Karen Michelle Clark to do your wedding makeup. She is incredible--she's so relaxed and professional that it makes the day as easy as it can be. She also does SUCH a great job with the makeup consultation day. We talked through all my options and I knew exactly what the makeup would be like for my big day, which really put me at ease. I don't normally wear a lot of makeup, and I wanted a look that would be natural--she rocked it! I got so many compliments on the makeup, and the pictures look great. I hired Michelle to do my wedding makeup, and I was SO happy with my experience. She did such an amazing job! In addition to my makeup, she did my bridesmaids' and the moms' makeup. This is a little overdue but Michelle did makeup for my May wedding, and she was fantastic!

She was so easy to work with and accommodating. She came to me for a trial run which was really convenient. She also came TO our wedding venue since that is where we were all getting ready.

Finding a makeup artist that is as talented as she is, is flexible, is reasonably priced and also just a really awesome person was a great find. She was recommended to me by my event planner Dana at C and D events.

I want to attend more events where I need makeup so we can hang out more :)

I couldn't be happier with choosing Michelle as my makeup artist for the big day. At the trial and during the wedding prep, she was such a joy to be around and chat with! Our party looked awesome and she was even able to create a look for one of my bridesmaids who had never worn makeup before and my girl loved it! During my trial she took down a lot of detailed information so we could be sure to recreate the exact look I wanted. I felt confident and looked awesome all day. Michelle was also able to comfortably accommodate me and my bridesmaids despite the super small size of our hotel room that seemed to keep filling with people as time went on. She is a total gem!

Not only did my makeup look amazing for my bridal portraits and wedding day, but she was so fun to work with! Michelle handled make up for my sister's wedding, so when it came time for my big day I knew exactly who I wanted to call. In fact, she was the very 1st vendor I booked! Michelle made everything so easy, stress free, and fun. We did a trial run (awesome!) and she made sure everything was perfect on my wedding day. Michelle was amazing. I found Michelle via my engagement and wedding photographer and am so grateful. Michelle really went out of her way to help me figure out what I wanted my look to be like both for my engagement session and my big day. I don't wear a lot of make-up day to day, and she helped me find a look where I would look beautiful in pictures but also really feel like myself and comfortable in my skin. I am so happy that I decided to book Michelle for my wedding. I was planning my wedding from out of state and Michelle was super flexible in finding time for a trial and very quick to respond to my emails. I ended up having 10 girls get their makeup done: myself, 6 bridesmaids, and 3 family members. She brought a second artist along and they both knocked it out of the park with every girl. Michelle's bubbly personality made what could have been a hectic morning feel like so much fun. I didn't worry about my makeup at all the whole night and it was the most photogenic I have ever felt. Michelle is excellent! She did my make-up as well as the make-up for my sister and sister-in-law on-site in the hotel room where we got ready. She was reasonably priced and she did an amazing job! The three of us are very different in our style and the type of makeup we wear, but she was able to make each person look like the best possible versions of ourselves. I knew Michelle was the right choice for my wedding day makeup as soon as I met her- because she's just the kind of person you want to be with you on your wedding day. Her bubbly personality and extreme positivity got me through some of my major jitter moments the morning of my wedding. Having her there just felt like having another friend in the bridal suite who also happens to do PHENOMENAL makeup.
Her consultation was extremely thorough, and she carefully documented my makeup look as well as every product she used on my face...but she was still flexible enough to make some changes on the actual day. She meshed perfectly with my other vendors and worked in perfect harmony with my hair stylists. Makeup for me, my MOH, and my mom lasted all night, even with humid/drizzly/rainy weather. We looked like beautiful. glamorous versions of our best selves. Overall, the experience was exactly what I wanted and at a great value.
I have recommended Michelle to basically everyone who will listen and will continue to do so.

I used Michelle for my wedding makeup, and I am confident that I made the best choice possible. For both my trial and the wedding day itself, she was prompt, friendly and accommodating. She fit right in with my large, loud, joke crackin', smack talkin' bridal party! She was laughing with us, cracking jokes with (and on) us and just had a great time. Michelle was did an incredible job with my wedding makeup! I was sooo pleased, and she was a blast to have around while getting ready. She was open to my thoughts and requests about my makeup, incredibly flexible, and funny - which was wonderful as I loved having someone around that could help calm nerves on my big day. Not only is Michelle knowledgable of products and techniques, her fun, bubbly demeanor makes the process that much more enjoyable! I work in the Special Event Industry and my colleague and I have used Michelle a handful of times for photo shoots. She was the first person to ever do my make-up professionally and I was initially worried because I have extremely sensitive skin. I found Michelle online through Wedding Wire and am SO happy I did. Michelle did the makeup for my wedding, which included three bridesmaids, two grandmothers, the mother of the bride, and myself (bride). She showed up at 6:00 am, perfectly ready to go and so enthusiastic about the day! She was a joy to have around that early in the morning and throughout the entire day! Everyone looked flawlessly stunning and Michelle tailored our makeup to what we were all comfortable with. For my bridesmaids who were not used to wearing a lot of makeup, Michelle put the perfect amount on to highlight their beautiful features without the makeup feeling or looking heavy. For myself and others who wore makeup regularly, Michelle created gorgeous smoky eyes that were not too heavy for a wedding. Also, for my grandmothers who wanted to look glamorous, Michelle placed individual false lashes on them that looked incredibly natural! And her makeup lasted the entire day, through hot and cold, sweat, etc! Michelle Clark is a phenomenal artist, and moreover, a wonderful person! Michelle is the perfect makeup artist for any event!

If you can book Michelle Clark to doll you up for your next special occasion, do it! Michelle came highly recommended by photographer, Kim O'Brien to do my daughter's hair and makeup for some very special senior portraits. We are so glad we listened. Michelle really listened to what Delaney liked and disliked in hair and makeup. She got to know Delaney's personality so her beauty would be enhanced by Michelle's work not overshadowed. Hair and makeup looked perfect through 3 hours of outfit and location changes and was still looking great at the day's end. Delaney was sad to wash it off that night. Michelle did an amazing job and was so fun and wonderful to hang out with! We will definitely be calling on her again!

Michelle was so great to work with. She did an amazing job on not only my makeup, but 3 other members of my wedding party as well. Upon arrival you can tell that she is very organized, prepared & professional. We discussed various shoots which she has done, her extensive back round in makeup retail & the industry and she even showed me some awesome make up she had done for some girls for Halloween! By speaking with her and seeing her photographs I was able to see that she is able to accommodate a broad range of looks & styles. She was super flexible in scheduling the trial and came to my house at night on a weeknight. A lot of other vendors were not as flexible and wouldn't meet with me after normal business hours meaning that I had to rearrange my days & leave work early. Due to this, I really appreciated Michelle working with my schedule. On the day of she came to my hotel which was super helpful as well. She also had great recommendations for a hairstylist and a company for my spray tan. Not only did she do a great job with makeup, but she is also just a nice, genuine person. She was great to talk to & so much fun. I really enjoyed working with her and she truly made me feel beautiful for my wedding. I really loved working with her and highly recommend her.

My event is more accurately described as a "Reinvention". At 50, I found myself in need of a new look, new ideas, and instruction in application and use of all the latest makeup, tools, and trends that have evolved since the days of the Avon lady. The sheer volume of options is intimidating enough; I needed a professional without a product sales angle to walk me through this new world of makeup and help me find a new look and all in the privacy of my own home. I could not have found a better makeup artist for our wedding makeup! I first met Michelle on the day of my bridal portraits and I knew right away that I had hired the right person. She was fun, personable and made me feel at ease. She listened to what I had in mind and was able to provide professional advice on what would work best for me and the look I wanted. She also did makeup for my mom and my bridesmaids. Everyone looked amazing! Not only did she create beautiful makeup looks but everyone loved interacting with Michelle. Michelle Clark is an amazing make up artist. She is very open to different ideas with regards to make up and helps you choose the right style for you. She is also reasonably priced for those brides that have a tight budget. We made some big changes from the first consult to the wedding day, but she was willing to work with the changes to make a beautiful result. She was patient with a very anxious bride like myself and calm personality helped me relax as I got ready for the day. She did an amazing job with the bridal party and flexible with her schedule. She is enthusiastic about her job and loves challenges. I highly recommend her services to brides of any culture or ethnic background. Her big heart is visible as she works. Michelle Clark is brilliant. Do yourself a favor and hire her. She responded to every single one of my e-mails, even the most absurd and unnecessary. Michelle is extremely skilled, professional and very fun to work with. She was referred to me by a friend who used her. I was looking for a makeup artist that would come to the hotel my party was staying at and be comfortable working with a different hair stylist all day in a small space. Michelle fits the bill.

She did a test run of makeup for me. Discussed my preferences and overall goals. That put me at ease to get to know her as well as know what I would look like on my wedding day. She stayed in contact during the weeks in between as our “get-pretty party” grew in size and our time line changed slightly. She was accommodating and professional.

On the day of she was on time, a joy to have the room, and a complete pro. She worked with my mom who decided last minute to join in. She has sensitive skin and brought her own makeup which Michelle was happy to use. Kudos to Michelle for being flexible and understanding. She made us the very best versions of ourselves! Everyone was very pleased with how they looked. On a humid day in August, we took pictures outdoors, danced all night, and our makeup looked fantastic until we took it off. That’s the best recommendation I can give.

Michelle was an amazing person to have as the makeup artist for my wedding: she did a test run of makeup for me, as well as the day-of makeup for myself, my mom, and my sister. She was so fun to meet-- our test run went well, both with regards to spending time with an awesome human, and her hitting the mark of the makeup style that I asked her for. On the day of, she was able to get my mom to look so beautiful (good, because my mom is nervous about all things makeup and dressy, and she was sold), get my makeup done (even though I was SO sleep-deprived and trying to pay attention to 20 other things), as well as do my sisters' makeup as two last-minuted additions (bonus points for flexibility). I would certainly hire her again for special event makeup!

First off let me say that Michelle is extremely talented in her craft! Michelle did my makeup for a fitness photo shoot and a bodybuilding competition and it was flawless. She took the time to research stage lighting, competition tan and other things that make doing makeup for a fitness competition more complicated. It turned out amazing as did my makeup for my fitness shoot. My makeup turned out so great that the photographer that shot my photos asked for her card and inquired about working with her in the future- score for her. Beyond her talent she is sooooo easy to get along with. I felt like I was hanging out with one of my girlfriends and there was never any awkwardness. She is super cool, definitely knowledgable and has amazing hair and makeup herself! I say that because I find it important to be a representation of your business. I have been following Michelle's work for the past few years, constantly entertained by many of her social media accounts. Not only is her work phenomenal and amazingly creative, her personality certainly follows suit. I finally had the opportunity to work with her on a styled photo shoot my Fiance and I modeled for; what a treat! Being in the beauty industry myself, I am considered to be pretty particular. She truly listens to your ideas, vibing well with what you love along with some creative and professional input of her own. I was so impressed and I have never looked better or had so much fun! Michelle did my makeup and hair for a wedding I was in at the end of the summer. She was wonderful! She made me look and feel beautiful and she got up really early so that I could get to another part of town pretty early in the morning. She loves what she does and she is brilliant at it!

Michelle has also done mine and my sister's make up for us when we do the Nutcracker ballet! It is safe to say we both have the best make up out of anyone in the show.

I absolutely loved having Michelle as the makeup artist for my wedding! From the makeup trial throughout the end of the wedding night, Michelle totally exceeded my expectations. Not only did she do my makeup, but also all of my bridesmaids and close family members in our wedding party. Michelle did an amazing job with makeup on my wedding day! We had gotten together prior to my wedding to do a makeup trial for me which I found very helpful. She did makeup for me, my mom, and 4 bridesmaids. Everyone looked so beautiful and timing was perfect. Michelle was the absolute best makeup artist for me and my bridesmaids! I searched the Raleigh area for a reasonably priced and available makeup artist and had a really challenging time finding someone at first. Luckily, I came across Michelle's website!
