Working with Alan W. Ulrich has been an incredible experience from start to finish. He is professional, patient, and genuinely knowledgeable, the kind of person who makes complicated decisions feel clear and stress free. You can tell he cares about the people he works with.

One of the biggest things I appreciated was his guidance during a very personal moment for us. My wife and I had a private wedding before our actual ceremony, and Alan helped us choose the perfect location to elope beforehand. That meant a lot he didn’t just handle paperwork and details, he helped us shape a memory we’ll carry with us for the rest of our life. Best Officiant

We had the greatest experience with Alan and we are so happy we found him. Alan officiated our very small, intimate ceremony and he kept it short and sweet, just how we wanted it. He had emailed us several templates weeks before our ceremony and allowed us to customize everything so that it suited who we are. He went over it with us so we were prepared for what to expect. He has a great charisma and voice and he made our wedding day really special!

Perfect Officiant

Alan did a great job officiating my wedding ceremony. My husband and I felt at ease right from our first meeting with him because of how friendly, organized, and caring he was. He was very quick to respond to any questions we had as well. Everyone loved him at our rehearsal and wedding and we got so many compliments about him. I highly recommend him!

Alan was so involved and understanding of what we wanted our ceremony to be. He followed ever detail down to the smallest part. He is very easy to talk to and to work with. Great Officiant!

When we began to plan our wedding, everything seemed to be pretty easy until it came to a huge part; picking our Officiant. My wife Julie and I interviewed maybe 7 or 8 Officiants, and for whatever reason we didn't find the combination of warmth, humor, and professionalism we were looking for. Then we met Alan.

From the very beginning, we knew Alan was the one for us as he seemed incredibly distinguished and professional. Instead of telling us how great of an Officiant he was, he listened to what my wife and I were looking for, and was able to provide the exact feel we wanted.

As we didn't have a Wedding Planner, I was incredibly stressed throughout the process on what the ceremony would entail. Alan connected with me personally, reassured me, and was very patient and helpful throughout the process. He was instrumental in putting together a ceremony that was perfect for us and the theme of Boston and Beacon Hill we were going for.

The ceremony was perfect, and Alan was exactly who we were looking for as he was professional and stoic, he got a few laughs which added to the environment, and was extremely warm and understood the romantic implications of the event.

Even after the wedding, he has been incredibly helpful in the practical side of filing paperwork and changing names. If you're targeting a Wedding Officiant in the Boston area, I feel confident in saying you won't find one better than Alan Ulrich.

One of the best vendors we hired

Alan did an exceptional job throughout our whole process. He provided the perfect amount of guidance while being completely open to any of our ideas and preferences. Most impressively - he memorized our entire ceremony and didn’t stutter ONCE while delivering it. His speech was clear and sounded great. He was very helpful setting up the mics with the DJ beforehand to ensure everything would go smoothly. He is a true professional, and takes his job seriously, which we appreciated greatly. He exceeded our expectations and was one of our favorite vendors, we’re SO happy we hired him and would strongly recommend him.

Fantastic Justice of the Peace

Getting married in the middle of a pandemic isn't easy, but Alan was a wonderful partner throughout the process. His kind and calm demeanor put us at ease during a stressful time. He was easy to work with and helped us make our wedding vision a reality. We wanted some elements of a Jewish wedding and he helped us find great ways to incorporate those into our ceremony.

Dream Wedding!

Alan officiated our wedding earlier this month! It was such a pleasure having him apart of our special day. We loved his personality and sense of humor. We thought planning a ceremony during a pandemic would be stressful, but Alan made sure to go over all the details to make sure everything would go smoothly. The ceremony was perfect! Highly reccomend!

Justice Alan was the officiant for our secret elopement on June 22nd 2020! He was willing and able to marry us in a small ceremony after our 240 wedding was cancelled due to COVID. We quite literally could not have been married without him, and we absolutely wouldn’t have wanted to! His words throughout the nuptials were so beautiful and he spoke right from his heart to us and our guests. It was perfect and we wouldn’t change a thing, we can not WAIT to have him officiate for us again next year for our dream wedding celebration!!

Best Justice of the Peace!

We loved having Alan as our Justice of the Peace at our wedding! Even with these crazy time of corona virus he was there every step of the way and made sure it wasn't a stressful day on us. I didn't really know what to look for when searching for an officiant, but Alan made it so seamless. He was responsive, knew everything he was talking about, had great suggestions, but was also really personable. He was really lighthearted and made us feel so much less stressed because he was so knowledgeable and easy going.

Alan was great from the beginning to the end, he was always very responsive, super friendly and made sure to help and explain to us every detail of the Ceremony and process to get the Marriage license. We didn’t have a Rehearsal dinner but he invited us to his house so he could talk a little bit more of how the Ceremony would be. We were able to choose every part of our Ceremony and It was so beautiful like we wanted, everyone loved it.

My now husband & I booked Alan for our wedding in November. We couldn't have been happier with our choice! Alan was kind, professional and exceeding flexible with my odd hour work schedule. In addition, Alan also provided my short & sweet ceremony with an ancient hand fasting ritual, which I requested, being a Scottish bride.

Alan made our ceremony memorable, he has such a beautiful personality... it felt as though we had known him for years, like a long time friend of the family was conducting our wedding. It was also good luck that Alan & our other vendors knew each other... which, we didn't even know until the day of!

We are so glad we chose Alan to be our officiant! After meeting with several other prospective JP's we were feeling frustrated and overwhelmed. We knew immediately when we met Alan that he was our guy! He was easy to talk to, friendly, and had such a nice way about him! He even provided us with a "cheat sheet" so that we could pick and choose everything in our ceremony without having to do all the legwork ourselves. He made the whole process so easy!

Alan officiated our wedding this past October, and we couldn't have been more thrilled. Truth be told, a family friend was supposed to do the job but didn't end up working out, so we didn't contact Alan until about two months before the big day. I was a ball of nerves at this point, but meeting Alan and seeing how calm, experienced, and professional he was completely alleviated all of my fears! Alan helped us totally customize our ceremony (he even found the perfect wording for the 'craft beer drinking portion'...using beer as a metaphor for marriage!); gave us feedback on our vows to make sure they were about the same tone and length; and gave us tips and tricks for applying for the marriage license and how to request copies of the certificate. And that's all before the actual day! Alan had officiated at our venue (the Willowdale Estate) many times before, and was very knowledgeable about the layout, flow, and timing. He was a whiz at wrangling our families and bridal party, had backup copies of every reading and vow, and put everyone at ease. Best of all, he has an incredible sense of humor and had everyone laughing at all the right moments. We had SO many compliments from our guests about the ceremony portion of the wedding! Alan, we can't thank you enough!!

After much searching for an oficiant who would be sensitive and open minded I chose Alan to be the oficiant for my marriage. I made a great choice! He understood and respected my unique needs and even went above and beyond by offering me and my husband the option of marrying at his own home. He was always prompt in responding to my inquiries and best of all he made the whole experience a pleasant and joyful one. We eventually tied the knot in November of 2015. I would definitely recommend Alan to any of my friends and family!

Alan Ulrich is THE best officiant in the business. My husband and I originally wanted a Catholic church ceremony but once we had started the process, we decided it just wasn’t for us. We had attended a wedding four years prior which Alan officiated and we knew we had to have him for our ceremony. Upon meeting him, you will immediately get this warm feeling like you’ve known him forever. I promise he will bring that same warmth and joy to your ceremony.

In our initial meeting with Alan which he hosts in his own home, he set all of our anxiety at ease. He explains everything even the marriage certificate process. He offers several ideas for your ceremony but ultimately, he makes it easy for you to create your own ceremony with very personal touches.

I am being very honest when I say… we had several people come to us after our wedding with rave reviews about how touched they were by our ceremony. My Dad told us later that a friend of his broke down crying and said he had never seen a ceremony like ours before. My cousin ended up booking Alan for her wedding which was another absolutely beautiful ceremony!

Alan is so friendly, warm, charismatic, cheerful, funny, loving… I could go on and on.

I haven’t even mentioned that his rate is extremely reasonable and worth every cent!

Please just stop reading this and book him IMMEDIATELY!

Alan provided an excellent alternative to getting married in the church. It was very important to our parents that we had a religious ceremony, which Alan was able to provide for us. He was very responsive to emails and quickly completed our marriage licence. We would highly recommend Alan!

Alan was our officiant for our wedding in Boston on September 5, 2015 and would couldn't have been happier to have him as a Justice of the Peace! From our first meeting to our final farewell after the ceremony Alan was so helpful, friendly and professional. He coordinated with our musicians and wedding coordinator so all the necessary cues were lined up, and everything went off with out a hitch! It was really helpful to have someone professional who had been through the process so many times to walk us through everything and help us plan a special ceremony. Alan was particularly helpful in helping us come up with ways to make our non-denominational ceremony a little more special. He gave us a number of suggestions so we were able to consider a few things and then pick something.

We highly recommend Alan!

Living in Florida I was hesitate about picking just anyone offline for our wedding taking place in MA. I did some research, read reviews, and decided to go win Alan and Iam so glad I did. Alan stays right on top of everything and makes sure you understand what is going on and what will happen on the big day. He did a great job officiating and I would recommend him to anyone!

I couldn't recommend Alan enough! From our first meeting with him, up until our very last, he was sincere, professional and very organized. Alan very clearly explained all of the different options available to us, provided a multitude of readings to choose from and helped us come up with the perfect layout for our needs. Many guests complimented us on how great the 'flow' of our ceremony was. We are so glad that we chose Alan to be our officiant. Throughout the entire process he was a pleasure to work with. He was very open to all of our ideas regarding our ceremony, and provided a great deal of sample material to allow us to build it from scratch. He was very responsive to emails and clear about anything he would need to make our ceremony run smoothly. On the actual day of the wedding, it was clear that Alan had spent plenty of time preparing, and he did a wonderful job. Each member of the party also knew what to do because of how well Alan ran the rehearsal the prior night. We received numerous comments from guests who just could not believe how great our ceremony was, and Alan played a huge part.

Alan was absolutely terrific. He let us know when we met him how the ceremony would be coordinated and made everything simple and relaxing. Alan really made the ceremony stress free and enjoyable. He also reminds the groom to look at his bride while reciting his vows and not him which can be helpful. I am looking forward to having him do our 5 year anniversary. Thank you Alan

Alan officiated our wedding ceremony, and I was so impressed with his services. After our first meeting, he provided us with an immense array of different types of vows, readings, etc. and let us choose the order in which we wanted to use them. He kept in touch with us throughout the wedding planning process. At the rehearsal, he made sure to cover even the smallest things such as how my dad should give me away. He even met with the dj and the photographer on the day of the wedding to ensure that everything would run smoothly. I would highly recommend Alan as a JP!

I highly recommend Alan!! Alan officiated my wedding ceremony and he was great to work with from the start! Alan spent time with us up front getting to know my fiance & I and helping us understand the process for creating out wedding ceremony. This was great for us because we really did not know where to start!! He had great suggestions for our ceremony including a vast library of readings. We chose to add a rose ceremony to our wedding to honor our mothers, and they absolutely loved it! Alan was also very knowledgeable, professional and organized. He touched base with us before the ceremony to make sure we had everything in order including our marriage license. This allowed the rehearsal and the wedding to go very smoothing. Alan has a lot of experience with weddings, which made me very comfortable and confident that our wedding ceremony would be great!! Thanks Alan!

Alan was an amazing officiant.
He listened to our requests for the service and personalized our needs.

Alan officiated our wedding on December 7th, and we cannot say enough good things about him! He is wonderfully warm and accommodating, and did an incredible job executing the whole ceremony. My husband (I love saying that)and I met Alan at his home where he spent all of the time we needed going over options, ideas and hearing some cool stories of weddings he had officiated. We felt so comfortable being around Alan. Alan followed up with every detail of what we needed to do and what he was doing. The ceremony was beautiful and full of love. Alan was tremendous! He followed up after the ceremony to remind to get the Marriage Certificate and copies. We would recommend him highly!!!

I feel terrible that it has taken so long for me to write this review! Alan was absolutely perfect for our wedding, I am so grateful that we found him. My husband and I knew we would be married by a Justice of the Peace but really wanted our wedding to feel spiritual and to be an appropriate length for our more religious friends and family.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first meeting with Alan, he was so kind and interested in getting to know us. He was also extremely helpful in bringing up things we had not thought of. In the time between our meeting and our wedding I exchanged several emails with him. He was always helpful without being overbearing. In the end I feel like he steered us in the right direction but still let us choose specifics that really fit us as a couple.

People that I thought would be horrified that we did not have a church wedding have complimented us on our ceremony. It was beautiful and much of that is thanks to Alan. He is professional, likeable, and offers honest suggestions. When I was baffled about the order of events in the ceremony and had things mixed up, he kindly offered his opinion and gave me options so it would flow nicely. I appreciate this kind of input and it helped make our ceremony as perfect as it was.

Choosing an officiant was a very stressful decision for me, and Alan was everything we were looking for. I highly recommend him to all MA area couples!

We absolutely loved working with Alan. He made us feel so comfortable and relaxed throughout the whole process. Designing our ceremony was the easiest thing ever. He gives you lots of ideas of vows, readings, and different things to add to your ceremony which makes it so easy to pick and choose ideas. Obviously I never designed a ceremony before, and he just made it so simple. On the day of, he was friendly and we received compliments from guests about how much they enjoyed him. I know some people say he's a bit funny but I thought he did just a FANTASTIC job! I liked his little jokes throughout the process because it made me feel great. Definitely recommend!

We were so happy with how our ceremony turned out. Alan encouraged us to design our ceremony however we wished and so we did just that. We wanted the ceremony to really represent the two of us but also incorporate those who helped us become who we are. So many of our guests commented on how beautiful the ceremony was and our pictures definitely capture that. Alan was great to work with...from our first meeting with him over a year before our wedding to our communication leading up to the big day.

Alan is great. He immediately put us at ease. He's extremely friendly and easy-going in the planning process, but you can trust him to run your ceremony well. He's professional and is flexible with whatever you want for your ceremony. We wanted to throw in our mixed religion bits and pieces and he was receptive to everything, making good suggestions and helping us put together something perfect for us. We got a lot of compliments on our choice of readings, all of which but the vows were provided by Alan. I was totally oblivious to so much going on, but Alan was there to remind me to pass of my bouquet, how to put the ring on my husband, etc. He is well-spoken and his voice carries to the whole crowd and our ceremony was just how we wanted. Definitely recommend!

We recently got married in April 2012. Since we didn't get married in a church, I had some research to do on JPs. After doing some research online, I decided to meet with Alan and see if he would be a good fit for me and my husband. Meeting with Alan was great. We were able to meet with him at his house after work. He is a great guy and extremely organized, which I really appreciated. He is extremely flexible - he emailed us all kinds of readings and such so we could create our own ceremony. He has a dry sort of humor, which is great for making family members feel at ease and helped them pay attention during the rehearsal, haha. He did a great job officiating the ceremony and I would definitely recommend Alan for anyone looking for a JP.

So happy to share our experience with Officiant Alan Ulrich. We had a small Christmas wedding with family and close friends. I had searched for an officiant that would help to make our ceremony special with the touches that we wanted. Alan was professional and efficient . He was flawless in his ceremony. Having a Christmas wedding was hectic but his ability to create a calming effect was amazing. So many guests at our wedding shared how impressed they were by him remarking that it was one of the more remarkable ceremonies that they had experienced. Making the ceremony the focus for us was important and it was elegant and exactly like he said it would be. I can't thank him enough for the fine service he provided and would be happy to recommend him highly.

Alan was very organized and helpful in our initial consultation with him. He was receptive to emails and questions throughout the planning process. We thought he was knowledgeable and had an extensive amount of wedding that he had done. Our rehearsal was not at our venue but he was familiar with our venue so we felt confident he would be able to lead us through the walk-through successfully.

Alan was wonderful. I originally hired him because I saw how he was able to smoothly regain the guests' composure after an incident at my friend's wedding, so I knew that I would be in good hands. He was extremely patient and took his time answering all of our questions when we first met with him. He was flexible with his services and offered us many ideas and examples, so we were able to customize the ceremony to exactly the way we wanted. His voice was calm and carried very well even without a microphone, and everyone exclaimed to me what a beautiful and moving ceremony it was, with the choice of readings we had selected from Alan. He knows exactly what he's doing and asked many prepraratory questions so that he will be preprared even if you're not, and did wonders for my nerves during the rehearsal and on the day of.

Alan was terrific to work with. He returned all calls and emails promptly, provided a list of readings, was able to come to our rehearsal with one week's notice, and was well-spoken during the ceremony. I found his humor and personality amusing and comforting, but my husband was annoyed by Alan's playful sarcasm and quips. He means well, and did a wonderful job.

Alan is a great and friendly guy. He made our ceremony feel warm and complete and gave us a huge freedom to piece together our ceremony with different readings, poems, and vows. Everyone enjoyed the ceremony, and we had several people in tears (or at least misty-eyed)--he's a very engaging speaker.

Our one disappointment (for me, it was a pretty big letdown) was that Alan must not have read the correct version of our ceremony, because he didn't give Leigh or me a chance to read the vows that we had prepared for each other. We stood there holding our vows in our hands, waiting for him to break to us, but it never happened, so we didn't have a chance to share these with each other and our friends and family. Alan was a great guy, like I said, and I know it was an honest mistake. It was just one of the larger ones that left me feeling like our ceremony wasn't complete.
