She also sent us many examples of "readings" and vows. Roberta was kind, funny and professional. She put together and carried out an amazing ceremony. We can't thank her enough.

The best and kindest officiant!
It’s been one month since our wedding and every day I go back to how loved and supported I felt on the best day of my life. Michelle played such a major role in that. Everyone was asking us who are officiant was, and whether she was one of our aunts, because she came off like family so naturally. She made our ceremony seamless, personal, and funny.
Scheduling the officiant was admittedly one of the more stressful parts of the planning. We were not doing it in a church, nor was there someone that both my husband and I were equally close to who we thought should play the role, so I worried about finding someone I did not know. But within the first phone call with Michelle, it felt like I had known her for years. She is warm, kind, supportive, and professional, and any couple would be lucky to have her.

Could not have chosen a better experience
My partner and I eloped just last week, and we could not have done it without the help of Justice Lydon & Co. Well, we could have, but it would have been a disaster. The team at Justice Lydon & Co. were communicative, flexible, and understanding. When we got caught up in daily life, they checked in with us to make sure everything was in place for our special day. On the day of our elopement, we, of course, got lost and Justice Roberta was so kind and patient. The ceremony that she performed was beautiful and knocked the socks off anything that we could have written ourselves. Roberta also gave my family direction for the best photography and helped fix my unruly hair. She is certainly a woman of all trades, and we are so happy that she was the one to officiate our special day!

We could not have asked for a better officiant for our wedding. Justice Roberta Black made us feel comfortable throughout the whole process of planning and gave us the perfect ceremony. She was flexible with setting up calls, and extremely responsive via email and text. We weren't really sure where to start with planning the perfect ceremony, but she was our guiding light to get us through it and help us along. When the big day came, she was so calming and comforting during the ceremony when nerves and emotions were high. Highly recommend Roberta!

Amazing presence!
Justice Roberta was awesome to work with! We immediately clicked with her the first time we chatted, and she really made an effort to get to know us and tailor the ceremony to us as a couple. She wrote a beautiful ceremony and included the entertaining story of how we met, we loved it! She was extremely well spoken in front of a big crowd, she had a relaxed and comfortable presence and made us feel at ease. She reminded us to just relax and enjoy, and she laughed with us when we struggled to repeat basic lines. She was so fun to work with, and made our ceremony really memorable for us and our guests!

A special, memorable service
Michelle is awesome. She came and officiated our backyard wedding when COVID forced us to postpone our reception and she returned a year later to preside over our second ceremony and reception. COVID-19 Nightmare Turned Into A Dream Wedding
In case you only read this first sentence, I’ll start by saying Michelle did an unbelievable job and we would HIGHLY recommend her. We planned to get married on June 6, 2020 but we had to postpone the wedding to next summer due to COVID-19. Although we were thrilled to secure a new date, we wanted to memorialize our original wedding date through a private ceremony. We contacted Michelle just a few weeks before June 6th. Given how amazing she is, and how close to the date we called, it was no surprise to us that she had limited availability. Nevertheless, she was happy to work with us and find time in her schedule to marry us on our original wedding date. When we arrived for the ceremony, Michelle was the light at the end of the tunnel. After a long and stressful couple of months, Michelle made our day better then we ever could have imagined. She’s an incredible officiant, and an even more amazing person. We couldn’t have been happier with her services.

When you are preparing for your wedding, sometimes you get caught up in all of the “other stuff” and forgot that the Justice of Peace is just as important, and that they will be up there with you for your special day. PERFECT option for small and quick legal ceremony before an out of the country destination wedding
Michelle is great! Super down to earth and easy going. We are doing a destination ceremony but didn't want to deal with out of country requirements for a marriage license. We decided to do a quick formality ceremony ahead of our trip to keep all legal docs in Mass. We were just going to drive thru ceremony but then an ice storm came and our vehicle changed from stretch limo to 4 wheel drive SUV. Michelle went over and above! She let us come an hour earlier and let us do the ceremony in the chapel last minute. It gave me the added bonus of my dad walking me down the aisle where he cannot travel to our destination. Michelle is really funny and was such a good sport with pictures. I strongly recommend Michelle for any ceremony. I definitely think the chapel is a great option for others doing a destination wedding that all the loved ones either can't travel or you don't want to deal with residency requirements etc. while in another country.

Working with Michelle Lydon was an amazing experience from start to finish. Communication was easy and professional. We were in search of a Justice of the Peace for our August 11, 2018 wedding in Boston and researched hundreds of JPs in the area. Reviews about Michelle's professionalism, experience, humor, flexibility, and empathy drew us in and she embodied all of those things and more on our wedding day (and throughout the planning process). We were able to customize our ceremony, add and subtract aspects, bring in family and friends for readings, and leave the rest up to Michelle. It was the perfect combination of having a trustworthy JP with experience while also being able to craft a ceremony individualized to our priorities. My husband and I were very impressed by Justice Lydon. She was very personable and friendly. She was genuinely happy that my husband and I were renewing our vows and at a very special location to us. Justice Lydon made our ceremony very personal by the things that we told her and that meant a lot to both of us.

We found Michelle online and decided to pick her as our Justice of the Peace before even meeting her based on great reviews from other couples and we are so happy with our decision! We met Michelle at her chapel a few weeks before the wedding to go over all the details of the ceremony and she married us in Nahant, Ma on 6/8/18. We wanted a short and sweet ceremony and that’s exactly what we got! Michelle was so fun to work with and we were so happy to have her as part of our big day!

My son and his future wife were told a few weeks before their wedding that the person who was going to officiate couldn’t do it. I called frantically around and found Roberta Black from Lyndon Chapels. Roberta was so wonderful and the ceremony was perfect. I would recommend Lyndon Chapels to anyone. I would give it 10 stars.

I was excited to find this little chapel, to give us the intimacy and privacy we wanted for our special day! Michelle and Roberta were great! We got married here on 03/17/2018. We are from out of town (NY) and Michelle and Rose were amazing setting everything up over email or by phone. I did not have to worry about a thing! Rose had my family (group of 20) all taken care of in the room and ready to go. And the words Michelle said at the ceremony were so heartfelt. I had to keep looking at my fiancé and laugh so We wouldn’t cry (he admitted he was doing the same after).
We couldn’t have been happier than with this wonderful place and people! If you are looking for heartfelt and simple this is the place to be. You will be treated like family instead of a client.

We had the pleasure of getting married by Michelle at Lydon Chapel and the whole experience was awesome from start to finish. We wanted small and intimate wedding and this fit the bill. From Roberta to Michelle to Rose they were all really sweet and accommodating and quick to response. They were really down to earth people, funny and friendly. Our experience was all we could ask for and much more. We’re so grateful. If you’re not into big frills type of weddings etc, short, simple, and sweet.. Lydon Chapel is the place to go.. aside from that Michelle was an awesome Justice of the Peace as well! Highly recommend!

Absolutely terrific. Could not ask for more. Michelle was very accommodating with every request we made. My parents were in India and could not make the wedding. Rose held the I-Pad all through the wedding so my mom and grandmother could see the wedding ceremony. We had a small wedding and Lydon chapel helped with everything possible. A big thank you for making my D-Day go smooth.

Justice Roberta was our officiant even when Michelle was not available, so there are plenty of people on hand if you have a specific date or time you need to have. We needed a short and sweet ceremony in a hurry before the groom went back to sea for work, and Lydon made sure it was a beautiful and meaningful ceremony even without rings. It is worth the drive and the little chapel they have on site in Quincy is pretty and charming; the photos on the site don't do it justice. We are very happy with the ceremony, and the best part is that we're married (of course).

How lucky we were to have Michelle officiate our wedding! I did some research and Michelle was my first choice. We met with her, told her our stories, joked and got comfortable several weeks before our wedding. The result was a personal light-hearted ceremony that fit us perfectly. All of the ladies we dealt with for our special day were AMAZING!! They answered emails so promptly that I didn't have time to log out before their response was in my inbox! The day of we were late, and Michelle was more than accommodating and welcoming! Her ceremony is not the run of the mill script and had both myself, my husband (squeal!) and guests in tears. When we first met with Michelle we fell in love. We know we made the best decision choosing her after our first visit. Michelle was wonderful to work with! She kept us organized while also keeping us at ease during the planning process and during the ceremony. Michelle helped us personalize our day by suggesting we do a ring-warming ceremony (as other options such as a unity candle lighting ceremony didn't appeal to us). Throughout the process, Michelle was quick to respond to emails and easy to meet with (whether in person or via Skype). During the actual ceremony, Michelle achieved the perfect balance of solemnity and lightheartedness, making the occasion feel special and fun at the same time. Overall, Michelle is incredibly likeable and very experienced.

During our search for our Justice of the Peace, we interviewed several JPs and knew that Michelle Lydon was the one for us! We were not looking for a super scripted/structured wedding ceremony and Michelle was able to adapt to all our wishes and needs. Along with her obvious experience and professionalism as a JP, her confidence and energy radiates through. We had an outside wedding without a microphone but knew this wouldn't be a problem with her! Michelle was able to make our wedding ceremony feel like an intimate yet fun gathering of our close friends and family. She had the unique ability to make the crowd laugh, smile and cry, all within a short time. Michelle is the type of person that you can't help but feel like you've known for a lifetime. I sent tons of emails with many "new bride" questions and Roberta got back to me quickly, with all the info i needed and with a great friendly feeling that relaxed me and made the entire process very easy.
We were looking for a very fast and simple ceremony so we chose the Sweet and Simple Office ceremony and it was perfect for us. Michelle had a great sense of humor, was easy to talk to and made the entire experience comfortable and stress free.

Not only was she extremely passionate about what she does, but she also knows where to add in some humor. Even though we had only met Michelle a few times before the wedding, we felt like we have known her for years. The ceremony at our wedding was absolutely beautiful and everything she said fit perfectly. Michelle is phenomenal and she is definitely the person you want to have on your wedding day team!

We are a same sex Marrige couple . When I called Michelle I point blanks told her. She did not even skip a beat and said I have done this many of times . I explained to her we deciided to make this a surprise to our guests at my 50th Birthday party She told me I got this covered. Michelle was AWESOME . when she announced her self and who she was " I am Michelle Lydon" and I am a" Justice of the Peace" the response of the guest was so increadable ! My wife and I chose Michelle Lydon to officiate our wedding and we couldn’t be happier with how the ceremony went! We don’t live in MA and she was more than willing to Skype/FaceTime with us so we could get to know one another. She added all the personal touches we wanted to include during the ceremony. The ceremony was personal, had a few funny moments and was well rounded. She was witty, charismatic and made us feel at ease. Michelle Lydon was on time (if not early), had our marriage certificate promptly mailed back to us and fulfilled all requests that we had. We would definitely recommend her to others! Great experience!!

Michelle was absolutely incredible! She made us extremely comfortable even when we were 500 miles away trying to plan our wedding! She got back to us extremely fast via email and/or was available always by phone. My husband said that due to her personality, it helped him with his nerves prior to me walking down the isle! It is always great when you can take away the nerves and enjoy the day!!

Michelle delivered a beautiful ceremony at our wedding and was very accommodating of all of our requests. She was fun to work with and many of our guests commented that ours was one of the most beautiful ceremonies they have witnessed. I would recommend her to anyone.

This was a perfect intimate wedding spot. We picked a small parlor room as we only had 4 guests attending. Not wanting a religious wedding we thought we would get a very quick "Do you?... Yes I do" but they chose some really nice words to outline the meaning of our wedding and the officiant (Roberta) did a fantastic job.

Absolutely unbelievable! Comfortable, intimate, humorous, touching, and sincere...all these traits describe Justice Lydon and the type of ceremony she performs. She was so amazing that even the groom felt at ease and comfortable standing in front of 120 people :) I loved her personality and ease with which she spoke and interacted with us and her sermon conveys the true spirit of love and marriage. Loved everything about our ceremony!

Our ceremony was perfect! We are spiritual, but not religious and asked for a ceremony to reflect that. Michelle is very friendly, personable and has a way of making you feel comfortable. She prepared a beautiful space, including music and even took care of ordering flowers for us. Michelle and her team at the Lydon Chapel created a day for us that we will remember forever.

As we were struggling to decide what to do for a ceremony, we waited until the last minute, and was delighted to meet with Justice Roberta. She put us at ease, gave us suggestions which showed her flexibility, and helped craft a ceremony that was perfect for us in less than a week! Many guests at the wedding commented on how wonderful and heart-felt they thought the ceremony was. Roberta arrived early and was very professional.

My husband Fabio and I just got married on 9/15/12 and Justice Lydon conducted the ceremony. Justice Lydon did an amazing job and made us feel at ease. Justice Lydon loves her job and it shows through her work. Justice Lydon is upbeat and very funny! All of the guests made comments on how she did a lovely job and how they could obtain her contact information. Justice Lydon has a huge heart and you will regret not having her conduct your ceremony!

At first I was nervous to trust a stranger with such a major responsibility on one of the most memorable and important days of our lives, but after meeting Michelle for the first time, we left her office feeling like we’d known her forever! Michelle and her team were so easy to work with, friendly and professional. She truly had our best interests at heart and proved that by agreeing to do whatever we asked of her. What can I say about Michelle.....She is the best of the best of the best.My ceremony was so wonderful,there wasn't one person who didn't compliment me on my choice of Justice Lydon. She knew I was a bit uncomfortable without a church wedding,yet brought every aspect of my faith and my husband's to our ceremony.Both families were so happy with our respect for catholicism as well as judism.....Michelle is one of the warmest,kindest people I have ever met.
