Jospeh Ambler Inn Review
Joseph Ambler Inn was a dream come true for a wedding venue! Working with Jamie and the rest of the staff was so easy and stress-free. We had a lot of requests such as specialized meals for guests with food allergies, how to set up the décor for the reception, and space for hair and makeup. All of these requests were accommodated with no issues. One example of how Joseph Ambler Inn went above and beyond, was about 2 hours before the wedding we realized the petals for the flower girl had not been delivered. At this point, our entire wedding party was having their photos taken. Without even being asked Jamie and her team had gone to a local store, bought roses, and prepared them for the flower girl. I think this just illustrates that at Joseph Ambler Inn they truly care about your special day, and you are not just another event. Outside the wonderful staff, the location is also just perfect. Most of our guests were arriving from out of state so having the option to have our guests on-site was perfect. We also were able to have all our events on site including rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, welcome party, ceremony, reception, and afterparty. On top of all of this, the food was just amazing!! I cannot count the number of people who told me how much they enjoyed the appetizers, meals, and drinks. If you are looking for a venue that truly, does it all and goes above and beyond on your special day, Joseph Ambler Inn would be the ideal place for your big day!!-

Awesome experience
Jamie is superb! We initially booked a small place for our venue, and when we have a larger number of guests coming, they switched us to a bigger venue! They’re very flexible and the help we had the day of the wedding is awesome. The place looked very lovely and the food was great! Great choice for an intimate wedding! -

Wow wow wow
I had such a long review written out and it got deleted so I’m going to try my best and rewrite it now!
We were originally meant to be married in June of 2020, much like so many others. Unlike so many others we hired JAI for our venue…and rescheduled it TWICE. In the four years from picking JAI to the day when it finally came, I never once considered another venue. In fact JAI was the first and only venue we toured. My husband was so impressed with their event planner at the time, Ali, that he insisted this was the place for our special day.
Many things changed in the four years, our beloved Ali moved on and was replaced by Jamie in what had to be the most seamless transition. Jamie answered my 1,307,472 emails at all hours of the day and was an absolute gem to work with through all the twists and turns of navigating wedding planning.
The day of coordinator, Meg, was equally as attentive and so so helpful. I wasn’t even aware we had a day of coordinator until very nearly the day of but in the short time I knew her she listened to every single one of my increasingly strange requests and was on the money executing all of them for us.
We could not be happier with how our day turned out and would absolutely recommend Joseph Ambler Inn for every event! -

A special place
Joseph Ambler Inn is a wonderful venue and the perfect place to have a wedding. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, after party, and farewell brunch all on-site and many of our guests stayed at the inn over the weekend. The JAI staff was so easy to work with and were extremely accommodating when we chose to postpone a year due to Covid. Having everything in one place was so convenient for us and our guests and every event was handled seamlessly. The food is excellent, the property is gorgeous, and accommodations are charming and comfortable. Alli was our event coordinator and was so helpful throughout the entire planning process. She was very responsive and patient with our many questions and really went above and beyond for us in so many ways. Dana, the Inn hotel manager was also amazing. Our guests booked over 30 rooms and she helped us rearrange our hotel block to accommodate all of our guests needs. We also booked one of the buildings (the John Roberts House) for an after party and she made sure that everything was set up perfectly. Our day-of wedding captain, Meg, was incredible, and helped us navigate the day effortlessly. We were nervous about the rainy weather on the day, and she relieved all of our stress by getting us last minute access to the restaurant’s covered patio so that we could still have cocktail hour outside like we had hoped. The pavilion was gorgeous and cozy for our ceremony, and the ballroom was exquisite. We dropped all of our decor off ahead of time and the staff arranged everything for us and every detail was flawless. We still can’t believe how beautiful everything looked. We can’t recommend this venue enough; it’s truly a special place. -

The Perfect Venue
The Joseph Ambler Inn is the perfect venue, all made more exceptional by Alli and the rest of the banquet/restaurant staff. From our first tour we couldn't wait to host our guests here. We loved that everyone could stay overnight onsite, and our guests appreciated being nearby for all the wedding events and the moments in between. The venue is beautiful, charming, and well laid out for not just a ceremony and reception, but all the other events as well (getting ready, after party, send-off breakfast).
Thanks to the awesome planning process and the day-of coordinator, Jamie, our wedding was seamless from start to finish which kept our guests happy and entertained. As a bride and groom, we especially loved that we didn't have to lift a finger on our wedding day and could truly just enjoy the occasion. They were accommodating and flexible with every detail -not to mention a COVID postponement- and truly made our wedding dream come true!-

Perfect location for your wedding!
I highly recommend the Joseph Ambler Inn for a wedding. We held my daughter's wedding there June 2021. I cannot express how fantastic the event was, food delicious, staff friendly and helpful, cleanliness of the facility, ambiance amazing. We will never forget our day, it was magical! -

Best wedding venue ever !
My husband & I are so glad we chose to get married at JAI. This is the first and only venue we looked at and we knew this was the one right away. The space is gorgeous, the food is amazing and the staff is full of the most patient, understanding people ever. Planning a wedding during a pandemic is not easy at all but Alli, David & team made it as seamless as possible. Our day was perfect and we’ve gotten so many compliments on how everything came together! We’d highly recommend this venue to anyone. -

Venue of my Dreams
When Max and I started planning our wedding back in 2018, the one thing we knew was that we wanted it to be outside in the fall with all of the foliage around us. Joseph Ambler Inn was everything we wanted and more.
Alli is a super star. If wedding planning was already difficult enough, COVID-19 hit and threw a wrench in the wedding planning process. Once the restrictions started to ease, the team quickly came up with plans for how to continue doing weddings and efficiently communicated them to me. Alli took all of my questions regarding the safety precautions, how we could potentially postpone, and everything else and gave me every single answer I was looking for. She even thought of things that I didn’t even think about and brought them to my attention, like whether we were providing cake-cutting utensils or a card box.
We also booked the John Roberts on the property so our guests didn’t have far to go after the wedding. That worked out great. Originally, we were going to have an afterparty, but it ended up with us just hanging around and talking for a while before everyone went to bed due to how hard they partied beforehand. Having the house was great so people didn’t feel obligated to leave early.
Our guests were amazed at the beauty of the property, how great the food was, and excited to be able to celebrate in the outdoor space. The wait staff was great and super professional. And let me give a shout-out to Meg, who was our day-of coordinator. She made sure that all of my decor looked exactly how I wanted it, handled the wedding crashers without us knowing about it, and made sure that everything ran smoothly. There were a few hiccups along the way, but Meg handled them like a pro.
Thank you to the team at Joseph Ambler Inn for helping us have the wedding of our dreams. You’ll see us back for anniversaries and random date nights.

AMAZING Venue, Staff & Service
I don’t think there are enough words to describe how amazing the Joseph Ambler Inn employees, grounds and services are for all your wedding needs. This year has been full of challenges for most brides and 2 months prior to my wedding, I had no bridal shower, rehearsal, ceremony and/or reception location. Enter Alli and all the amazing people at the JAI (David, Meg and many, many more). With one email in late July, Alli hopped in and helped us plan every single wedding-related event with ease. She kept me calm and answered every single crazy question that popped in my brain. Each wedding event was better than the prior, culminating in our wedding day on Sept. 26th. And it was absolutely perfect! Meg was incredible the day of creating every single space as I had envisioned, the event ran so smoothly even my OCD-self could relax and enjoy. My family/friends are still talking about the beautiful grounds, service and how it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. The accommodations / after party were perfect too. The JAI honestly offers it all with their many outdoor locations for various size events (I know I used them all), backed by an incredible team of people. I can’t thank Alli and everyone we worked with at the JAI enough for helping make all our wedding dreams come true during such uncertain times. -

Amazing!
The entire team at Joseph Ambler Inn is top notch!! They just simply know what they're doing and run their Inn and wedding business like a well-oiled machine. No hiccups, no issues. The wedding lead, Alli, is just the sweetest and was super easy to work with. They anticipated my every need; they took all my big ideas and made my dream wedding come true. The fact that they do everything--hotel, food, alcohol, venue, and CAKE made everything so easy, and all their services were top of the line. Food was amazing, their cake vender (partnered with local bakers) was awesome, staff was thoughtful. 100% recommend. -

Joseph Ambler Inn Made our Wedding Perfect!
Choosing Joseph Ambler Inn as our ceremony and reception location was the best decision we could have made for our wedding planning! Allie, the event coordinator, is a SAINT and handled all of our questions and concerns with grace and flexibility I have never seen in any other professional. All of the staff was courteous, friendly and did everything in their power to ensure our day went smoothly. The ceremony location was beautiful, and the weather held out so we could have our ceremony outside. Our guests were raving about the food from cocktail hour to after the wedding! We rented the Thomas Wilson house and had an after party there, which was a load of fun and super easy with JAI staff setting everything up and tearing everything down. Our wedding day was a DREAM and that is thanks to the staff at Joseph Ambler Inn! -

Professional and Very Accommodating
The Joseph Ambler Inn made my wedding a legit dream come true. They were very organized and helpful with all my questions and accommodations that were needed. Extremely flexible and took all my worries away for the big day! THE FOOD IS AMAZING! My guests did not stop raving about it! We also had an after party in the Farm House and the staff was sooo cool and relaxed, plus they cleaned up after us :) Booking rooms was also very easy for my guests and the rooms were very clean!-

The Most Beautiful Place for a Wedding
The Joseph Ambler Inn is a gorgeous place to get married! I have told so many friends and family about this venue and recommended it to everyone! The fact that almost everything but flowers, photography, and music is included makes everything so easy! My guests stayed at the hotel which made it easy for them to arrive at the ceremony. We were able to block off enough rooms for the guests, however if you block off rooms and people do not book them make sure you cancel or you will have to pay for the empty rooms. We were able to use the Bridal Suite and Man Cave and bring all of our things throughout the week and store it there which was super helpful!
The venue is gorgeous and makes for beautiful pictures. Alli (bless her) is amazing with answering all your questions and helping throughout your whole planning process. Meg was a great captain for the day of and made sure everything went down smoothly. I recommend this venue to anyone! ALSO THE FOOD! to die for. Allll our guests said it was the best food they ever had at a wedding and it is amazing.Joseph Ambler Inn's reply:

Kratz Wedding 3/15/19
We chose our wedding venue to be at the Joseph Ambler Inn because it was the rustic and romantic venue we had been looking for. The staff was amazing, and the food was out of this world! The venue is amazing for pictures, and when the sun is beginning to set, the whole venue glows. We are so thankful we chose this venue. The bridal suite is incredible, as well as the rooms for staying overnight. We stayed in the Allman(honeymoon) suite and it did cost a little extra but was so, so worth it. They have complimentary breakfast the next day too! Our guests loved the fact that they could just walk Back to their rooms when the wedding was over instead of having to drive home. We will continue to go back here for our anniversaries! -

1st Meeting
We met with Allison the first visit to the property and booked the same day. We love the character and charm of this venue so much. Allison is so easy to work with and very knoweldgable. We are so excited for our wedding to be here. -

Tacos and blow torches
Joseph Ambler Inn was the best place to get married. Every square inch of the property is gorgeous. I loved that everything was right on the property for us. I worked with Ali the entire planning process and she is such a sweetheart! She made the entire planning process so simple. We even discussed taco's a few times and enjoyed Taco Tuesday's during the summer. I also found out after the wedding, that my candles melted into squares but my vases were cylinders. Ali sat in the middle of the dance floor, blow torching the candles!!! I was completely blown away. I can't say anymore nice things about Ali. Multiple guests asked if I'd be upset if they choose to get married at JAI and I can't blame them! I sent them Ali's info. This was the best venue I could have hoped and picked for for our wedding. -

We had our ceremony and reception at the Joseph Ambler Inn and we were also able to rent out about 15 rooms in one house for our wedding party and closest friends. We loved that this venue allowed for everything to happen in one place, so we did not have to travel anywhere once we (and our guests) got the venue. In addition the venue takes care of many of the planning details for you such as linens, tables/chairs, table numbers, catering, alcohol, set up and break down of the decorations, the cake, etc. The venue and all the spaces are also amazing, they have beautiful grounds for an outdoor wedding, a pavilion that can be a plan b for rain or a space for the cocktail hour, and the reception hall is spacious and elegant. The wedding planning staff are absolutely fantastic as well; they are friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and flexible! We worked with Ali and Tay throughout the planning process and Meg was our day of coordinator. After I left each meeting with these ladies I felt more calm and knew that we were in good hands. On our wedding day they went above and beyond to make the day stress free and even better than I imagined! They exceeded my expectations from planning to execution the day of, and as far as I know the day went off without a hitch. Not only was the place beautiful, but the food is also amazing and our guests complimented the appetizers and main courses several times. JAI was a huge part of making our day truly the best day ever! -

Joseph Ambler Inn was the perfect location for my wedding ceremony and reception. The intimacy of the location, the flexibility of the over night guest rooms, and the ability to continue the party after hours was great. The staff were amazing to work with and they went above and beyond. All of my questions were answered and the planning was seamless. The ballroom was absolutely gorgeous. I must say that my favorite part was the moment my husband and I had after the ceremony in the Thomas Wilson House. The staff had champagne and hors d'oeurve waiting for us. I can't wait to go back to the inn! Thank you for making my day more than I could have ever imagined. Fantastic staff!!! -

I can't say enough about this place, and neither can my guests! The team of people we worked with (Alli, Amanda, and Meg) were super awesome, answering ALL of my questions and in a VERY timely manner! They were also very accommodating with everything and had set up everything perfectly according to plan. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception (and even an after party) there. We had many out of town guests as well, so this place was truly what we were looking for (everything on site and rooms for our guests!). The grounds were amazing, the food was delicious, and the day was literally perfect. I'd highly recommend this place for a wedding. We are looking forward to celebrating our 1 year anniversary by coming back and enjoying the Allman suite : ) -

We got married here on 1/7/17. From the beginning, our event coordinator worked with us every step of the way up to our wedding day. We loved the venue, the food, and service. Everyone we worked with at JAI was very helpful and friendly. Even that we had a small intimate wedding, they catered to us as if our event was large. Shoutouts to Alli, Paul, and Carol. Thanks again for making our wedding day so awesome!!
We also booked a night at JAI and we stayed at the Allman Suite. Please book a room there if you can. It was a very nice suite! Our photographer was able to get awesome wedding photographs in this room too. They offer complimentary breakfast if you book a room. -

We used Joseph Ambler Inn as the hotel for after our wedding, and it was the BEST decision we could have made. We worked with a few different staff members in getting rooms blocked off and they were all extremely prompt and helpful every step of the way. Their rates are great and they include a buffet-style breakfast the next morning for you and your guests. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the buildings and rooms are so unique. It's an absolutely stunning place to be. We had about 35 rooms booked by our guests, and every single person raved about how cool their room was, and about how much fun we had. They have it set up by buildings, with each building housing a number of hotel rooms. You can use the common area of the building for an after-party, which was the highlight of our night. They allow you to bring in any food/drink you want to have at your after-party in advance of your weekend, and they'll set it all up for you so that when you arrive back after the wedding, you're all set. Having the entire building and the areas around it with quaint patios and benches was an incredible setting. We got to stay up well into the night, enjoying the company of our family and friends as we continued to celebrate the best day of our lives. I cannot say enough about how great our entire experience was at Joseph Ambler Inn. It created the perfect post wedding setting for us, and was the perfect ending to an already perfect day. I would highly recommend JAI to anyone looking for hotel accommodations, they will seriously be the best part of your wedding day and night. Thanks JAI! We are already looking forward to coming back and staying for our First Anniversary. -

BEST PLACE EVER!! My husband and I got married in May 2016, and the JAI was everything we were looking for in a venue and more!!! The JAI appealed to us because it was a “one stop shop” for rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, and lodging. There was no need for our guests to drive anywhere, or even leave the grounds. We continue to get rave reviews about the venue, food, and the intimate feel of the wedding in general. The JAI staff treated us like celebrates and accommodated our every request. Wendi, Teg, and Ali made themselves available for any questions, room reservations, and changes we made. We booked out the Thomas Wilson house for the rehearsal dinner and had a BYOB and BYOF picnic style celebration. The night of the wedding, we booked out the John Roberts house for an after party that allowed us to keep our celebration going for hours after the 11:00pm reception cut-off. JAI also provides a list of vendor recommendations, and we were thrilled with Signature DJ’s and Linda Fitzgerald for flowers. We cannot say enough about these two vendors. Joseph Ambler Inn was not the first wedding venue we saw, but it was definitely the last one! We knew after leaving our first meeting with Wendi that JAI was the venue for our May 2016 wedding. Not only could they accommodate a wedding of our size (less than 100 people), but they could also have our ceremony, cocktail hour and accommodations on site, and the value could not be beaten! Each staff member we dealt with during our planning process was flexible, responsive, accommodating and just a joy to work with. Wendi answered each and every question we had, Alli Baron the Hotel Manager was so helpful with planning and setting up our after party and welcome bags, and Meg our day-of coordinator was a god-send! Meg was able to walk us through our rehearsal and even helped with last minute weather changes. The guests raved about the food and accommodations, and the weekend went off without a hitch! We couldn't recommend JAI more to other couples looking to get married in the area. The whole venue is beautiful, the staff amazing, and the food was delicious! Thanks JAI for a wonderful weekend! -

My beautiful bride and I selected Joseph Ambler Inn as the venue for our wedding reception and dinner. "Perfect" is the best word to describe our experience. Our party of 16 was treated to fabulous hors-d'oeuvres and drinks in the private living room adjoining the dining room located in The John Roberts House. It was a chilly evening and we were treated to a wood burning fire in the living room's giant fireplace. Meg was our event coordinator and was excellent with attending to our every need. Joe and Kevin were our servers for the evening. They were absolutely terrific! Our compliments to Meg, Kevin, and Joe for their heartfelt friendly service. The food was impeccable! The Inn was home for three nights for two of our guests. They loved their stay. My bride and I thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay as well! Special thanks to Wendi and her staff in helping with planning our event. They were key in making this occasion extra special. We highly recommend The Joseph Ambler Inn!

Where do I start!!!! Our intimate wedding by the fireside with family and friends in the historic farmhouse was absolutely amazing. We had a cocktail dinner party with approximately 40 people. Our ceremony was by the fire and led right into the rest of the quint historic farmhouse. The service was fabulous! Wendi who runs the events was over the top on everything. Their response to all our questions were fast & informative. No request was not granted or an issue. Our drinks and food were absolutely delicious.

Wow! What can I say? The JAI was amazing! Everything from the food to the awesome staff. We were in the John Roberts House with a fire in the fireplace. Cozy and intimate. Couldn't have asked for a place for our wedding day. Highly recommend !

Everyone at JAI was wonderful and really made our special day a great time! Wendi was great and very easy to work with to coordinate the events and Meg, the day of coordinator was great to work with as well and made sure that everything was running smoothly. The hotel staff was very helpful with setting up room blocks and whole house agreements. I thought it was wonderful that we were able to rent a whole house and they set up an after party for us in the common area.
We had a beautiful day for our wedding, but it was fantastic that there are so many back-up options in the event of bad weather. This is a top notch outfit and I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a rustic/homey environment. A lot of our guests were from out of town and it was basically like a destination wedding. -

I can't say enough great things about the Joseph Ambler Inn! We spent the whole weekend there for my wedding, and everything.... I mean everything was awesome! It's a beautiful, unique Inn with 52 guest rooms spread out around the property. We rented the Thomas Wilson House which has 10 guest rooms, a small kitchen, 2 common indoor areas, & a big covered porch. After Party!!! Great customer service. Very friendly accommodating staff. Food is unbelievable! My guest all were raving about how nice everything was. Highly, highly, highly recommend! -

My wife and I were married at the Joseph Ambler Inn last weekend, and we had so much fun, that I wish that I could go back in time and relive it all over again. After being at so many wedding events where we had to either drive or take a bus from place to place, we were determined to find a venue where our guests could park on Friday night and enjoy the entire weekend. We had a very relaxed rehearsal dinner in the Tack Room, our ceremony on the lawn, our cocktail hour on the porch/gazebo, and our big ceremony in the ball room. The food was outstanding, and our guests loved being able to gather on the covered porch every morning to eat the complimentary breakfast buffet. Another unique aspect of JAI is that they allow for "whole house rentals". I was able to reserve an entire house (shared common areas w/separate king and queen hotel rooms) for my bridal party, and then another house for both of our families. We then had an overflow set of random rooms for the rest of our guests. This allowed for an amazingly unique and personal setting, unlike the cold and impersonal floors of a regular chain hotel, where you're often stuck with other unrelated guests. The entire staff, including Wendi (Wedding Planner), Jamie (Restaurant Manager), Ali (Hotel Manager), and Meg (Wedding Coordinator) bent over backwards to help us throughout the entire planning process and all weekend long. Their teams were incredibly professional, friendly, and really helped to make our weekend an amazing experience. I highly, highly, highly recommend the Joseph Ambler Inn! -

We have nothing negative to say regarding the Joseph Ambler Inn. We had our rehearsal, ceremony, and reception at the Inn. We also had overnight accomodations for us and our guests as well. Every single staff member we came into contact with from Wendi, the wedding coordinator, and Meg, our Event leader, to the servers and bartenders and even the housekeepers, every person was the most professional, courteous, and polite staff you could ask for. Meg bent over backwards for us to make sure our night was perfect, which it was! Our servers were amazing! The food was DELICIOUS! We received so many positive reviews regarding the food following the dinner. We also loved the room accomodations. Every room was perfect and clean. Our guests loved the spa tubs! Overall, we had the perfect day thanks to the perfect staff at the JAI! -

So far so good! Our first initial visit with Joseph Ambler was great --- we were there over 2 hours. We had an initial sit down with Wendy who gave us a VERY detailed description of pricing and included details that I had not even thought to ask. The one thing that really had me leaning towards JAI was the fact that there are literally THREE alternate inclement weather options available! They have been very responsive so far and have answered all of questions. The grounds are beautiful. It has a very rustic, romantic vibe to it and feels like a vacation even though it is so close to Philly. All of the homes on the ground have been well taken care of and I cannot wait to see the pavilion lit up at night during our ceremony with the white paper lanterns we have chosen! I will write another review as soon as the wedding is over and I am back from the honeymoon! -

This was the IDEAL venue for my wedding! The ability to have the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, after party and accommodations in the same place was amazing. My guests were very comfortable there and it was so nice for everyone to have their own room on the premises and have breakfast the next morning together. It was like a big party that lasted 2 days! Wendy really helped us with planning the event and was always prompt to responding to phone calls and emails, which there were a lot of! Our day-of coordinator was calm, collected and insured everything went off perfectly. The food, as always, was impressive even for my chef husband! The reception was decorated beautifully by the staff and conveyed our theme we wanted. All in all I couldn't think of a better place to have had my wedding and would suggest this venue to other's as well! There are different packages to choose from and you definitely get your money's worth. -

I had a great experience at Joseph Ambler Inn for my recent wedding on August 10, 2014. The venue is gorgeous and the staff is very accommodating. Wendi (the banquet manager) is great to work with. She was very helpful to put my mind at ease and help us design contingency plans in case of rain (which thankfully we didn't need). The food was excellent and all of my guests were very pleased.

The patio was romantic the luncheon delicious and the atmosphere perfect; these were the comments of our family and friends as we celebrated our wedding at the JAI. Throughout the planning process Wendi, the event manager was prompt to answer any question no matter how ridiculous. On the day of the wedding we had someone assigned to us who guided us through the day., it was like having a personal wedding planner without any additional costs. From start to finish , from vendor suggestions, food choices and service the JAI was outstanding! The JAI was the perfect venue for our wedding. The staff was friendly and helpful. The property is gorgeous. I liked that I could do everything in one spot. Rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and then rooms were available for guests to stay over night. For $100 we had a send off breakfast the next day for the guests that stayed over. Wendi is the best! She was always so helpful and always returned my emails, calls etc. So many staff members were wonderful and so helpful. We became friendly with so many of them - Alyssa, Joe, Dan, Allison, Cathy, Teg and even more. The food was fabulous and the grounds just beautiful. Our family and friends all said it was the best wedding and most fun that they had ever been to ( and we are talking compared to some that are over $100,000.00 up near NYC). So many thoroughly enjoyed staying at the TWH all together and spent time catching up after years. We spent the whole weekend there. We love it so much that we went back for lunch the week after we got back from our honeymoon in Jamaica. It is definately a place we will frequent often and now my family wants to have a family reunion there every year :). Thanks for the most memorable day of my life! -

Our wedding was absolutely amazing and after spending a year and a half planning a wedding, they helped me re-plan the entire thing in just days. I loved every moment I spent at the Joseph Ambler Inn! The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is always fantastic and a big event like a wedding was no exception. The event staff was super friendly and easy to work with. I was going there to eat and drink even when we weren't meeting with Wendi (the event coordinator), it's to the point where the staff knows me and my new husband by name! Seriously, the Joseph Ambler Inn (JAI) made our wedding weekend! I am from Upper Dublin and my husband is from Minnesota so for half of our guests it was a destination wedding. Knowing this, my husband and I really wanted to make it a weekend experience for our guests. The JAI made that happen - first, we reserved the John Roberts House for the night of our wedding and about a dozen more rooms on the property for the weekend. The rooms were beautiful and perfectly captured the colonial PA feeling we were going for without being old or out-dated. We held our rehearsal dinner in the Tack Room and the food was delicious, and Wendi was great to work with. They accommodated our wanting to have the cocktail hour outside even when there were several other events going on on the property. They also allowed our parents to have a blessing ceremony outside with sparklers (and were even going to allow them to use wish lanterns) that night. The day of the wedding, Sean provided shuttle transportation for our guests to/from our venue and the pricing was so much more within our budget than any of the other transportation companies we had contacted. The shuttles were on time and got everyone where they needed to go. Keenan not only helped with coordinating rooms and guest services, but he also helped us plan our after party in the John Roberts House where we had food brought in, music, and late night cocktails. The John Roberts House was amazing because it had a foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen and guest rooms. We literally took over! Finally, we finished the weekend with a breakfast for our guests that also allowed guests not staying at the JAI to join us for a very reasonable price. Again, the food was delicious and the service was great. The entire JAI staff was so accommodating and courteous and professional. Our guests all loved the grounds and the atmosphere and especially loved how we had a "home base" for the weekend. Thank you JAI! -

The Joseph Ambler Inn was the perfect location for my New Year's Eve wedding. There are a variety of historic buildings and rooms in which to hold your events. The atmosphere is fun, relaxing, and romantic; each bedroom on the property is unique and named after historical people/places in the area. The staff at JAI was incredible throughout my wedding planning process. Wendi, the wedding coordinator, answered every email and phone call either immediately or within 24 hours. She completely understood my vision for the ceremony space and the reception; she even asked that the Inn's December holiday decorations contain silver instead of gold because she knew my color scheme for the space.
Keenan, the house manager, went above and beyond to make sure my guests had everything they needed. He was just as obsessive about the little details as I was, and offered us a fantastic discounted rate for our guests to stay on the property. Even the head housekeeper checked in on me and my bridesmaids when we were getting ready, to make sure we had enough towels and make-up remover. The food (breakfast, appetizers, dinner, and dessert) was delicious and well prepared - not your typical wedding food. I can't say enough about the Joseph Ambler Inn's hospitality and dedication to making my wedding the most amazing day of my life. Everything went smoothly and was executed perfectly. Five stars! -

We booked half of the rooms at the Joseph Ambler Inn for our wedding being held at Talamore Country Club. From start to finish, Keenan was soooo helpful and accommodating. He set us up with a whole house agreement for the John Roberts House which allowed our guests to pay a flat rate no matter which room they ended up in. Also, we were very lucky that the common areas were not booked during our weekend so we were able to have our run of the whole house! The sitting areas were so cozy and we had access to a full kitchen. When the reception was over, we were able to come back and continue our wedding celebration with our guests until the early hours of the morning. All of our guests really enjoyed the ambiance of the house and the historic feel of the whole estate. The staff was always happy to help out with anything we asked, from setting up Welcome Bags in each room, to locking up our food and alcohol in storage prior to our stay (really lightened the car load! thanks!). We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our wedding weekend! -

Joseph Ambler Inn is a beautiful place to get married. The grounds make for amazing photographs. They have back up plan after back up plans for any weather situation which is great. We were lucky though and had awesome weather so we were able to get married outside. The staff is amazing, they really work with you to make your wedding day the best and very stress free. The food is SO good! My husband is a chef and is very picky, and even he loved every bite of everything. They also have great over night accommodations for you and your guests. Our package even came with a free overnight stay! If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing! -

The Inn was lovely. They accommodated all of our last-minute demands, they arranged for food in the bridal changing area. The food was excellent. Some touches that I liked: they gave us our own slices of cake, 1 of each flavor, both on our table at the wedding, and in our room afterwards. The Wedding Coordinator was extremely helpful, including in trying to find my parents afterwards, and in re-arranging seating at the last second for a guest we forgot in our seating arrangement. The only thing I would say is that their room service was limited, and we did not want to go out to dinner. They only had a couple pizza places that delivered. Then again, we could have planned for dinner after the reception. -

We just had our wedding and cocktail reception here on 10/23 and it couln't have gone better. Wendi was great to work with, very helpful setting the whole thing up - nothing was to big or small that she wasn't eager to take care of. Her service was very personalized, and I didn't have to worry about a thing! -

Having our wedding at Joseph Ambler was wonderful. Wendy was so nice and easy to work with. She put my nerves at ease and made sure everything went perfectly! She made sure everything was taken care of and if there was a problem she was there to take care of it. The entire staff was so wonderful and nice. They work with you every step of the way to make sure everything is correct. I can't say enough good things about Joseph Ambler Inn. -

As soon as I stepped foot on the Joseph Ambler Inn, I knew I had to get married there. I felt like I would have a storybook wedding with the beautiful gardens and the old stone houses, and I did! When we sat down with Wendi, the wedding coordinator, to discuss pricing, it was more than we had planned on spending but I decided it was worth it for us to get married there and invite a few less guests. In the end, however, we were able to go from inviting 85 guests to the maximum they would let us after working with Wendi and choosing our own food selections. We also rented the Thomas Wilson house for the night of the wedding so our guests could stay longer for an "after party" which really helped make our wedding a weekend event as all guests who stayed over enjoyed a fireside breakfast with us the next morning. Our wedding was beautiful and Wendi took care of everything and was so wonderful to work with! -

We were looking for a small place to have a group of 18 for our cermeony and dinner. I contacted Wendi and she said the farmhouse would accommodate our needs. And we could stay at their beautiful bed & breakfast and that it was Friday night in March the rooms had a huge discount! It was a dream, and our guest said it was the nicest weddings that they had attended! We had the whole farmhouse to use and a beautiful table was set for the whole group to be together. We had the farmhouse from 6PM to 11PM. After we had use of the John Roberts and had a huge fireplace, could play music and BYOB. All was put together in one month. The JAI is awesome and food excellent!!!!!!!! -

So thrilled that we had our wedding at the Joseph Ambler Inn. The setting was stunning in October with all the leaves changing colors. Wendi as wonderful in getting everything set up and very helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. She was also very helpful in referring us to florists, photographers, and bakeries. And of course, the food was wonderful. It was really perfect -

This is a gorgeous place to have a wedding. It was great to have everything in one place. Ceremony, reception, overnight accomodations and morning after brunch. It eliminated the worries over transportation and people getting lost or stuck in traffic. The staff were fantastic and very accomodating. My husband is vegitarian and they made special dishes for him and other vegitarian guests. And I wanted a french fry bar at the cocktail hour and they made it just as I envisioned. It turned out great. I'm so glad we chose this location. -

We recently had our wedding at Joseph Ambler! The staff was a amazing and very pleasant to work with. Alli was responsive via email and Meg was a joy to work with the day of. Teg was also very helpful in finalizing all our wedding details.
They have a bridal suite for both the Bride and Groom to get ready and offer to host an after party in any of the buildings they have (as long as your group rents the whole building). We did have to use the Wolfe Suite as the Bridal suite due to the wedding the next day reserving the Allman suite both days.
Overall would highly recommend! The guests loved the venue and the food was amazing! -

The Joseph Ambler Inn is an amazing place to host a wedding, especially if there are a number of out of town guests. Our party filled 47 of the 52 rooms at the Inn. It was like our own wedding village!
The staff was so helpful and attentive to our guests. The food was delicious! -

Our Fall 2010 wedding at the JAI was awesome. Though it was a cold and blustery day, our outdoor ceremony was beautiful and our reception was a blast. The food was delicious, the staff was so friendly and accommodating, and our room that we stayed in was awesome. All of our guests loved the venue, food, decor, and overall experience at JAI. We would recommend JAI to anyone who wants a beautiful, romantic and fun wedding. We also had our rehearsal dinner there the night before the wedding and the food was awesome and the wedding coordinator was very helpful and professional. Overall, the experience was perfect for us. It can be a little pricey, but definitely worth every penny! -

Wonderful wedding experience
We absolutely loved our wedding at the Joseph Ambler Inn. Jamie was extremely helpful and responsive throughout the planning process, and the venue was gorgeous with tons of character. The food was also delicious, and the hotel setup made logistics very easy for guests. I highly recommend this venue if you want a charming country wedding with excellent amenities.
My only (minor) complaint was that the hotel staff were a bit disorganized and there was some confusion about rooms for guests. However, there was staff turnover between the time we booked the wedding (all the way back in 2020) and when we actually got married in October 2022, so they may have ironed that out by now. If you book a wedding here, I'd recommend staying on top of the details surrounding your room block and encouraging guests to do so as well.
Overall, we loved having our wedding here, and are so grateful to the staff at JAI for making our day so perfect. -

We just had our wedding here last weekend, and everything was amazing! Food, venue, lodging--all of it was beyond perfect. The staff was easy to work with and always accommodating. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. We took advantage of renting the entire Thomas Wilson House for our after party, which was a great decision. Our guests raved about how beautiful and charming the hotel and ballroom were and how delicious the food was. I can't recommend this place enough! My husband and I stayed in the Allman Suite, which I also highly recommend. -

The Joseph Ambler Inn is an absolutely beautiful venue. It provided the perfect atmophere for our fall vintage brunch wedding. Wendy, the event planner, was wonderful. She is professional, available, flexible, and a pleasure to work with!!!! Our guests enjoyed every moment that they spent at the Joseph Ambler Inn from the ceremony, cocktail hour, and finally the reception. Although there was a bit of confusion on the part of the wedding coordinator provided by the Joseph Ambler Inn, Wendy worked diligently to ensure the me, my fiance, and our guest were well taken care of at all times. Thanks so much Wendy for making our wedding a day that we will never forget!!!!! -

Beautiful venue with rustic charm! Fantastic food! Ballroom is neutral and not too fancy so it is basically a blank canvas to decorate to your liking. We planned on having our ceremony outside on the lawn with the barn in the background. It rained, so we had to go with plan B. Better plan B than any other venue offered! We instead had the ceremony under a covered patio. It was beautiful and still outdoors but we all stayed dry! The patio is attached to the ballroom and was open to us all night. Sleeping accommodations were superb. We had the ceremony, reception, and rooms all in one location, which was very convenient and therefore we did not have to spend more to offer transportation for our guests. The bridal suite has a gorgeous huge stone hot tub! -

The Joseph Ambler Inn was a beautiful place to have the wedding reception; the grounds are beautiful (which makes for great pictures) and the staff is extremely attentive. Wendi helped my mom and I plan the wedding (I was stationed in Japan at the time) and she was very prompt with email responses and very flexible with my situation. The only reason I gave the four stars for flexibility and quality of service was because of a mix up. The wedding package I purchased through the JAI stated that it included a free night stay for the bride and groom, which my mom and I both assumed was automatically booked when you purchased the package and set your date. When the actual wedding day came and we tried to check in they said there was no reservation for us and that they were full. Wendi informed us that we were responsible for booking the room...which would not have been possible anyway because 10 months prior when we booked the JAI they were completely booked. We ended up staying in a room that no one wanted because the AC was broken. However, after the wedding, when my mom called to express her disappointment, Wendi sent a gift certificate for a free nights stay and dinner to compensate. Overall, it was a very good experience and the food was amazing!!! -

The inn was the perfect setting for my wedding. An all-inclusive wedding package for food (including cake) and a place for my out of town family to stay. The food is AMAZING, by far the best dinner i've had a wedding reception. The room rate for the group was excellent, and we were able to reserve as many rooms as we needed for the weekend. Everyone at the inn was very quick to respond to our questions. the site itself is amazing, I cannot wait to see the pictures our photographer took there. I did have 2 small issues however:
1. There were some huge miscommunications between Keenan (in charge of rooms) and his staff taking the reservations. Several members of our party were told the inn was full when our blocked off rooms had not been used yet. thankfully our guests let us know and we were able to resolve it quickly.
2. I loved that we dropped off our reception items ahead of time and the inn set them up for us. Afterwards, our boxes of things were waiting in the house we stayed at, but the metal table numbers I brought had disappeared. They were quite expensive and my husband and I planned on giving them to our brother in law to use next year for his wedding but no one at the inn has been able to find them.
despite those issues, the inn was still the perfect setting for us, and I would definitely recommend anyone use them, especially with guests that have to travel. -

We were married and had our reception at the Joseph Ambler Inn. The food was really great. The grounds are absolutely stunning, and made for wonderful pictures. We worked with Wendi during the planning, and she was very responsive and recommended some great vendors. They were not very flexible with menu choices, but the food was so good that I don't really have any complaints. We were assigned a coordinator for the day, but I didn't really see her much, and did not meet her until we were about to walk down the aisle. I was told she would be in charge of timing and cueing the processional, but it ended up being a bit of a mess, and our DJ stepped up and helped out with the processional as well as the timing of the cake cutting and special dances. Part of the problem was that we were from out of town, and did not have a rehearsal on site. I was told that this was completely fine before hand, but heard later that our coordinator blamed us for the confusion with the processional because we didn't have a rehearsal with her the night before. Overall we had a wonderful wedding, and do not have any regrets with choosing this venue. I would recommend that you hire your own coordinator for the day if you want things to run as smoothly as possible. -

Planning a wedding is stressful, especially when we lived out of state, but wanted to be married in my hometown. About 70% of our guests are from upstate NY. Keenan, Wendy, & Teg were absolutely wonderful in helping me plan our wedding, answered all our questions & helped calm my nerves with understanding & consoling qualities! I knew that Wendy would not be coordinating my wedding & it was understood that Teg would be taking over, & this was ok because she was fantastic. However, we were assigned a waitress Carol to coordinate our rehearsal & wedding which was an absolute disaster! Carol did not seem to know what she was doing at all. Infact my Matron of Honor & I directed the rehearsal ourselves. The day of the wedding while I was in my suite conducting photographs with my photographer, Carol wanted to come to my room with a paper & pen so that she could write down what it was I wanted done! I was horrified! I did not get to get ready with my bridesmaids because they were too busy running around setting up my wedding because Carol was not doing anything correctly. I missed taking photographs with my photographer because I was too consumed with making sure my wedding was being handled correctly. I was very disappointed with the coordinator assigned. As we were being introduced, we noticed she never moved the decor & flowers from outside the pavilion into the ballroom, which they ended up doing while we were introduced. My photobooth & props were never set up, so one of my guests took it upon herself to take the photobooth around the reception herself so that I had what I wanted since Carol did not conduct what all was to be done. Although I was disappointed with the coordinator assigned, the JAI was absolutely amazing! I would still recommend this venue, the grounds are beautiful in every season & the food was amazing! Keenan & Wendy are great people & wonderful to work with! Thank you to Wendy & Keenan for helping us have a wedding of our dreams! -

Beautiful Yet Cost Effective Venue
My husband and I could not have picked a better venue for our fall wedding. We wanted to do a brunch wedding and JAI has a great brunch package! Compared to other venues in the area, the package was very inclusive and didn't make us have to reach out to a ton of additional vendors which really helped with our budget and overall cost.
JAI has a great reputation and is a very popular spot in the area. Naturally, everyone that asked where our venue was became automatically thrilled to hear that we picked JAI to host our big day. The foliage that day was beautiful and everything that we asked for was accepted and greatly accommodated. Jamie (planning coordinator) and Dana (housing) were very easy to work with. I sent Jamie so many questions throughout the planning process and she answered all of them and some. Both ladies are incredibly patient and personable. The food was delicious and we got tons of compliments on it from all of our guests. My husband and I will definitely be visiting JAI more in the future.
There are two reasons why I am taking a star away from making this a five star review. The first reason is because of what the wedding party, my parents and my husband and I saw upon arrival the morning of the wedding. Our wedding was on a Sunday morning with a 11:30am ceremony time and I asked the bridal party to be at the venue around 6:00/6:30am. Yes, I know. Very early. When I got there at 6:00am, the conference room in our building (Thomas Wilson) that has our blocked rooms and bridal suites was absolutely trashed and so were the bridal suites. The cleaners did not come to clean the place up until 7:30/8:00am. My bridesmaids ended up gathering all the trash dispersed throughout the room before they came and put it in a corner so we could actually sit down somewhere and so the hairstylists had somewhere to set up camp. It was not a pretty sight. The cave (men's suite) was much better but still had trash. We were aware that there was a wedding the night before but a lot of us were not happy that the cleaners hadn't come to clean everything up at that moment in time to get ready for the next event. Alot of the bridal party and our parents were not happy at the sight.
The second reason was due to the fact that our planner Jamie was not there at all during the day. I kept telling people to find Jamie if they had any questions and they were not able to find her. We had Carol as our coordinator that day and she did a great job but we were not told prior to the wedding that Jamie wasn't going to be there after the entire time that we've been in contact with her planning this wedding. Thankfully everything went very smoothly during the day but it wasn't a great feeling knowing the person that you've trusted with everything involved in the event was not going to be there on the actual day. We would have been okay with it if we had been given prior notice to having Carol instead that day. We had just spoken with Jamie that previous Friday at the rehearsal dinner and she didn't tell us then either.
Despite those two incidents, the actual wedding was a day to remember. My husband and I are happy overall and will continue to go there in the future. -

Everyone commented on how great the food was! The service was also very good. Make sure to really read over their packages, we ran an open bar tab and was charged an extra $65 on top of the final bar tab, which in my opinion is a little crazy, since when you go to any bar you can run a bar tab and not be charged. -

Overall, we were very happy with our wedding at the JAI. Everyone loved the venue (outside ceremony as well as the reception inside their newly renovated ballroom), the food and the overnight accommodations. It can quickly get a bit pricey, but I am glad we spent the money since it was worth every penny.
They have a separate bridal changing area, which is very convenient. They also provide a day-of wedding coordinator. Meg was our coordinator and she was not only a true sweetheart and wonderful to work with, she was also very professional and made sure everyone and everything stayed on track.
Only negative aspect was that during the planning process we had a bit of a diffcult time with one of the event coordinators. She all of a sudden wanted to change time and location of our send-off breakfast (that was already agreed upon in writing) to accommodate another wedding party, and got quite nasty when we didn't want to change it. Luckily, we eventually found a solution that was suitable to everyone, and in the end we were very happy with our breakfast. After this incident we continued to work with someone different and from there on our experience was nothing but absolutely positive. I can only recommend the JAI if you want to have your ceremony, your reception and your overnight accommodations in one aboslutely beautiful place with great food and excellent service.

We recently booked our wedding at the Joseph Ambler Inn! We were looking for a venue where our guests can stay overnight onsite and after a LOT of searching we finally found one that's our style and in our price range! We are super excited about the experience. Though we are almost a year and a half out we learned quickly that Saturdays fill up FAST in the spring/summer. Thankfully we were able to book the Friday before the Saturday that we really wanted. Our tour was a bit rushed and the booking system is very old school, no digital catering menus, everything done on paper, scanned back and forth, etc. But I suppose that's not a big deal. Alli was very helpful with booking rooms and does use a bit more technology which was nice. Our only concern is the ballroom which is the only option for an evening wedding reception of our size (about 100 people). It is very different from the overall rustic and vintage feel of the rest of the venue which we found surprising. Hopefully we can do something with decor to "rustic" it up a little. I'm also a former pastry chef who has done hundreds of weddings so I have some different ideas and very high standards about food (and especially dessert!). Wendi said they would be willing to be flexible with menus and get a little creative so we're excited to see what we end up with. We did eat in the restaurant before our tour to get an idea of the food and while it was pretty basic, it was delicious! I do think more basic food done well is MUCH better than overly creative food that's not done well. Hoping everything runs smoothly as we plan, choose menus, etc. Will definitely write another review as planning moves forward and of course after the wedding is done! Based on what we saw and also read in reviews we are confident it will be a great experience! -

Our wedding coordinator Wendy was great to work with, and the location, venue and food was great. However the positives stop there. The room staff Brian and Keenan were bossy & degrading to deal with which was a turn off. On the event our day assigned wedding coordinator Jennifer was horrendous!! She didn't help coordinate anything and just stood around doing nothing. She disappeared throughout most of the reception and we had to rely on the wait staff (who were great) to help us get things done. No labels on the food, no knife for cake cutting, room temperature too hot. Our event overall was great but the coordinator was horrendous! -

We had an atrocious interaction with the JAI. We spoke over two weeks inquiring about availability for our potential wedding date and requested a meeting to get a tour and deposit our check. When we showed up for our tour they said the date got booked yesterday. Huh!?! You scheduled a meeting with us to tour & hand in our deposit, & you booked the entire facility the day before we were supposed to meet?!?
Understandably mistakes happen. But the real problem was they made no absolutely no effort to fix the problem they created. When they noticed the problem they didn’t call the 2nd party & explain how we were already interested in that date for 2 weeks already. They didn’t ask us to hand in the deposit quickly because there was a there was a second interested party. They said all they could really do was say sorry, offer us a complimentary 1 night stay on another day, & recommend us look into a different hotel.
After many discussions trying to sort this thing out they weren’t even willing to call the 2nd party to say there was an oversight. They literally refused to do that because “that would create two problems”. First off, it’s their problem they created. I don’t know why I am now responsible for fixing the problem they created. It was their mistake, their miscommunication, their oversight. I don’t know why now I have to deal with restarting the wedding planning from scratch and trying to get my money back- all because of an error they made. Any other respectful & professional company would have owned up to the mistake & took matters into their own hands to fix a problem they are responsible for. These guys couldn’t even handle a reservation, & I would be afraid to see how they could handle an actual wedding.. A company that isn’t willing to go the extra mile & “create two problems” to fix ur problem isn’t a company that I could depend on to host any part of my wedding. I would implore anyone to stay away, and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND them at all
